This is the spot if you want to enjoy an excellent pool. They charge $2-3 per person. Also have tennis courts. You can pack and bring food (in a cooler) but have to eat it at the special area outside the pool.

Satisfactory food (pleasant surprise for dinner show event): pizza, salad.
Show was funny and interactive. Do not come earlier than 5 minutes prior to the event though. Not sure why staff says to come 30 minutes before start.

Beaches
Where to go if you want to swim in an ocean. I do have some canopies I can let you borrow for the beach. Sun is intense.
I like the color of the sand, it has a nice red to it. Fishing pier and larger waves than other areas.

If you feel like you must go to Daytona than boardwalk is a busy place with a lot to offer. Personally I would avoid Daytona unless I am coming for an event. (It is dirty, has cars on the beach and overall not a nice town)
