Sand Dunes National Park is extraordinary. A refreshing stream flows early in the season. A hike to the top of the dunes is exhilarating. On the way to the dunes, you might stop at Colorado Gators in Mosca, and on the way back try the hot-spring fed soaking pools in the greenhouse at Sand Dunes Pool in Hooper.

Willow Lake is high in the mountains above Crestone. It's a strenuous hike to get there, but the views and the setting are stunning. An unofficial trailhead is located close to the Dome, so please contact us for more information. We can provide a link to maps also.

We just love the Joyful Journey hot springs - it's probably our most frequented spot in the valley - we go there often! There is a sauna and three outdoor pools of varying temperatures - the least hot of the pools may work for children. The spa offers massage. Bring a lock!

We do enjoy the hot soaking pools in the Greenhouse at the Sand Dunes Pool facility (adults only). The pool is also great for kids, and they have a canteen with fast-food meals available. It's worth the visit!

OMG - this place is pretty cool! Huge alligators live in waters warmed by natural hot springs - and you can hold them too! The greenhouses are filled wtih assorted reptiles - it's just a fun place, especially with kids.

The Valley View Hot Springs are part of a membership club, but you can join for a day (if not too crowded). Most of the pools are natural, and clothing is optional. Set high on the edge of the valley, this is a great place to soak.
