Happy Creek Coffee and Tea is a hybrid between the cutest cafe you've ever seen and a bike shop you could see the likes of in Seattle. They have unbelieveable coffee and gluten-free and vegan items as well. We recommend mozying over in the morning and grabbing your caffeine fix along with the best oatmeal you'll ever have.

The Rail Stop is a wonderful gourmet restaurant. They make their breads, pastas, and desserts in house! We highly recommend stopping by for dinner, but especially for Sunday Brunch!

The Whole Ox Butcher Shop & Bar had it's first brick and motor location in The Plains Train Station! They've recently moved to Marshall, VA just up the road from The Plains. We recommend any of their housemade foods, everything they make is amazing. If we had to sum it up in a few words: best charcutterie plate ever. sausages. bacon, bacon, and bacon.

Great Meadows is home to the famous Virginia Gold Cup horse races that are held every Spring and Fall - rain or shine. During the summertime you can attend Twilight Polo on Saturday nights, or if you don't want to wait you can schedule a trail ride through the pristine 250 acres that the Great Meadows Foundation saved from housing development plans in the 80's. They also have the best display of fireworks in the region for the fourth of July.
