200 N Bridge StNederland’s Carousel of Happiness- nonprofit Carousel of Happiness is a magical menagerie featuring 56 whimsical, hand-carved animals on a restored 1910 Looff carousel, turning to the music of a 1913 Wurlitzer band organ. Also: has an upstairs observation window (great for watching the 100-year-old gears churn), a puppet theater (housed in a restored band organ facade), and a story booth for recording the stories the Carousel of Happiness inspires you to share.

Magnolia Road has been written up in Outdoor Magazine, Runner's Magazines, Mountain Biking literature. It's a mecca for anything outdoors. It's also less than a half mile from the cabin by car, or just hike/bike there on the trails behind the cabin. It has waterfalls, streams, lakes, views of the continental divide. Caln't go wrong anywhere on Magnolia Road.
The Indian Peaks wilderness offers a rugged wilderness experience of jagged windswept peaks, alpine tundra, and a small glacier all within a few minutes driving distance to Ponderosa Pine Mountain Cabin. The Indian Peaks are one of the most visited wilderness areas in the United States. Backpackers, mountain biking and day hikers frequent here from all over the country.

This caboose was built in 1910 for the Colorado & Southern Railroad, originally car number 242. It is among the last cabooses to feature an all wooden curved ceiling—the end of an era, as later models had flat ceilings. The Pullman Coach was built for the Colorado and Southern Railroad and ran exclusively for them as car number 544 until its retirement. Constructed in 1905, inlaid stain glass windows, it was one of the last plush wooden coaches and served as a chair car.

Because the owner is not just a business man, but he cares about people who are struggling to make ends meet, and can't afford a good meal. One night a week he feeds all for free, and those of us who can afford to pay you have the option to leave a good will offering. Who does that? Only in Ned. We love this place. They pack a killer lunch to-go for hitting the trails.

The thousands of pieces of mosaic, koi pond/fountain, and yes, decadent food. It's Boulder's number one restaurant and we highly recommend a reservation.

Reward yourself.
