Great venue spot in the neighborhood. Super quick walk from the house too. Cheap drinks and shows, and the music is generally pretty good. The genre of bands changes drastically from night to night, so maybe check ahead of time. But it's a great authentic Detroit spot.

Parks & Nature
One of the greatest perks of living in Detroit. Not known very well outside of the city. But it is a great asset to the residents of the city. It's free to enter the island by bike or walking, but by car it costs a little bit. Definitely worth it though, great views of the city for the sunset too.

It's free to enter the island by bike or walking, but by car it costs a little bit. Definitely worth it though, great views of the city for the sunset too.
Great place to walk to from the house. We take our dog there in the mornings to let her stretch her legs. It's almost always empty, which leaves the park and it's views of the Detroit river, downtown, and Canada to yourself.

Very interesting store full of Detroit artifacts and reclaimed wood products. Plenty of vintage, antiques, and architectural salvage to keep you busy searching for as long as you'd like. It's located in a former car dealership in the very cool Hamtramck neighborhood.
