One of the largest contemporary art museums in the world, MASS MoCA's collection is housed in an enormous renewed and reimagined mill. Favorite long-term exhibits large-scale work by Sol LeWitt, Jenny Holzer, and James Turrell. There's a fun KidSpace with rotating exhibits keyed to children and artmaking kits. Many fun ways to experience Mount Greylock, the highest point in Massachusetts! Hike, bike, or drive up to the top. The road up is only open from May through November due to treacherous winter conditions, but hiking is still possible for experienced winter hikers. Varying levels of trails available up to the top. We suggest the Hopper Trail beginning at the base and zig-zagging up (moderate difficulty), or diving up half-way, parking, and walking the usually-closed service road to Stony Ledge for beautiful views looking northeast. It's also a great place for a lunch or evening picnic!
