Bicycle rentals: Suggest Donkey Republic, 1st hour is free then 2 euros per hour, download the app, and use it to locate, unlock and lock bikes. There are Donkey Republic Bikes about a 1 minute walk from the house at the end of the street to the left near the trails and more Donkey Republic bikes also about a 5 minute walk, across the street past the gas station. You can keep these bikes all day and drop just about anywhere within the Utrecht area. Best prices.
Bus stop: On the corner in front of IBIS Hotel. The concierge at IBIS is quite helpful and has a detailed bus schedule.
Grocery stores: There are 2 Albert Hein stores nearby and a Jumbo (best for fresh salads & sandwiches) opening in the mall late September. Stores are about a 10 -15 minute walk from the house, very easy to get to.
Rental Car: Avis/Budget, best price, friendliest and most helpful car rental agency - literally less than a mile from the house. Would not suggest using EuroCar - they were the most expensive.
Canoe/Kayak rentals: Canoe rental Utrecht, on the canals in the city center, easy to locate and good pricing.
