A Rhode Island wiener is probably Rhode island's most famous food. Filled with raw onions, ground beef, special sauce or what we like to call, one "All the Way" paired best with Koffee Milk made with Autocrat coffee syrup.

Rhode Island is known for their seafood and Iggys in the best place to do for local fish and chips, clam cakes, clam chowder and dough boys. And best of all, both locations are right on or near a beach. Sit and enjoy the ocean views as you chop down on some of the best clam cakes and chowder we have to offer.

Most cities have ice cream truck and we have frozen lemonade trucks. That's right, Del's lemonade is the best around to help keep you cool this summer. You can even purchase a kit from the Del's Lemonade Stand to make your own at home.

What? Cold pizza and without cheese topping? Pizza strips (sometimes referred to as “bakery-style pizza) are a very good and unique Rhode Island traditional food.

Coming to celebrate a loved one's birthday and unsure to where to purchase a birthday cake? How about not get a cake at all, yet a cake doughnut? A doughnut cake in the shape of a princess? A plane? A coffee mug? A pig? Anything seems to be possible at Allie's Donuts in North Kingstown, where brightly decorated, soft, airy doughnuts — and oversized doughnut cakes — lure crowds that sometimes stretch around the block.

Just as you wouldn’t turn down an invitation to an authentic New Orleans crawfish boil, no one should ever shy away from a chance to experience a real New England clambake. Clams nestle in a beachside pit with corn, potatoes, lobsters, sausage and other goodies until the smoky, fire-roasted gems are ready to be served and washed down with a cold beer. If you want someone else to do the work, Newport's Castle Hill Inn has a summer clambake for $95 a pop (not including drinks). You get clam chowder, lobster, chorizo, littlenecks, jalapeno-cheddar cornbread, apple pie with ice cream, peach sweet tea and croquet, with a view of the Newport harbor. Not too shabby.

The breakers is Newport's biggest attractions, next to their famous beaches. The breakers, along with other attractions in Newport is a mansion. The Italian Renaissance "summer cottage" has 70 rooms, including a grand three-story dining room, and was built using imported French and Italian marble and alabaster.

Newport's Cliff Walk is the pathway along the rocky shore provides walkers with views of breakers crashing on the rocks below as well as the mansions' gardens and sea-facing facades above, and is one of the most popular - and free - things to do in Newport. The Cliff Walk begins well before The Breakers, the first major mansion it skirts, and after 3.5 miles, it passes by Rough Point, at the end of Bellevue Avenue. The exotic Tea House at Marble House stands just above the path

Located in the East Side of Providence, Benefit Street and Thayer Street are my favorite areas to go to on this side of town. Along with the historic view of the buildings in the area, you will have a beautiful view of Downtown Providence. Located right near 2 of Rhode Island's popular Universities, Brown and RISD.

Rght on the Narragansett Bay. there are several beaches. Matunuck Beach State Park, East Matunuck State Beach, Roger W. Wheeler State Beach, Scarborough State Beach, and Narragansett Town Beach all have changing facilities and parking. The latter is within walking distance of the old beach resort town of Narragansett Pier, where you'll find both lodging and restaurants. Farther south, more beaches face onto Long Island Sound, where the surf can be a bit heavier. Watch Hill is a delightful old-fashioned resort town with an excellent beach, a lighthouse, and a historic carousel.

Ten miles offshore, Block Island is reached by ferry from Point Judith (Galilee), on the south coast. From laid-back little New Harbor, where you'll find lodging and dining, you can bicycle or walk to several beaches or to the Victorian Southeast Lighthouse. So solidly does this brick building and its light tower sit atop its bluff, you'll be surprised to hear the story of how it was moved in 1994 to keep it from falling off its eroding bluffs into the sea. Mohegan Bluffs are a three-mile stretch of coastal cliffs with a 200-foot drop to the ocean. At the foot of these is a beautiful beach, although the prospect of climbing back up the 151 steps might discourage you. At the northern tip of the island is the 1867 North Lighthouse, where there is an interpretive center. Miles of trails crisscross the island and are popular with birders who come to spot the more than 150 species stopping here in the fall. A weekend on this island with its far-away feeling is one of the most romantic things to do in Rhode Island

The house was designed with large windows facing the water and overlooking the estate's 33 acres of gardens. Among the finest New England gardens open to the public, those at Blithewold include a water garden, an enclosed garden, display gardens, a rock garden, and a rose garden. The more than 500 different varieties of trees, shrubs, and plants include the east coast's largest giant sequoia and a bamboo grove.
