Beaches and Swimming
The south coast is teeming with great places to swim, surf, snorkel, fish or simply bask in the sun.
The closest and easiest option is to head down the hill to the end of our street to beautiful Werri beach. During the summer and public holidays there are lifeguards at the south end. If you aren’t confident in the waves there is a rock pool on the very tip of the rock platform at the south end.

Werri Beach

Only a 5 minute drive away, Seven Mile Beach is perfect when there is a north easterly wind blowing. It’s also blocks out some swell so the waves are smaller and calmer here, Perfect for kids or learning to surf. The river is also a good option and kayaks can be rented from the caravan park.

Located one bay around to the south from Werri Beach, Boat Harbour is usually a bit less crowded as a lot of tourists don’t know it’s even there. It hosts BBQ's for public use within a scenic park. Follow the path around the cliff to find one of the nicest rock pools in the area.

Bush Walks
For those who like to get out and into nature, nearby are some relatively friendly nature walks, which host amazing views.
The perfect walk for an amazing view of the south coast and Coolongatta Mountain. On a good day you can see Jervis Bay. The walk itself is uphill on the way there (making the way back nice and easy) and will take around 25-40 minutes depending on your pace. You don’t need to be super fit, but you should be prepared for a decent walk.

Drawing Room Rocks

Gerringong to Kiama Coastal Walk
69 Werri StLeaving from the north end of Werri Beach and ending in Kiama Heights, this 6km (one way) walk follows the cliffs and small bays of the coast from Gerringong to Kiama. It is suitable for most levels of fitness, and if you get tired you can just turn back! It is best to do early morning as there is no cover from the sun and you can get quite warm during the midday!
Take the Sand track walk through the forest and admire the complex forest and wildlife at Seven Mile Beach National Park. Pack a picnic lunch, and enjoy sweeping views at the end. This area hosts many species including nocturnal wildlife such as owls and the endangered Greater Glider.
