Well, if you're young or young at heart, Paceville is a 15 minute bus ride away from Ta'Lina. Its teaming with night clubs and lots of bars. Just watch out that you don't accidentally stumble into a gentlemen's club, unless that is the reason why you're going there in the first place :)

Tico-Tico is a little bar in Valletta which is more popular with the locals. This is a great little place where you can have a drink while being surrounded with great history.

Need to rent a car, bike or scooter. Go to Mike's place he is situated just a couple of minutes away from the apartment.

Going to Valletta? Then you must make use of the ferry at least once. Try to get a seat outside and notice the contrast between the 'new' buildings of Sliema and the old ones of Valletta. From there you will also be able to have a little view of the recently renovated Fort Manoel.
