Stone walled self catering cottage, secluded, great views, excellent walks, close to Arklow and Wicklow towns. An hour from Dublin, Queen size bed and double sleeper couch, separate bathroom, kitchen/living (Website hidden by Airbnb) location, wifi available.
Spacious, well equipped, authentic old stone cottage, ( circa 1640's). Two levels. Outside deck/patio area. Separate bedroom and bathroom area. Log stove.
The location is remote, no street lights or passing traffic... The quietness at night is unique. The rising sun in the east over the Irish sea is clearly visible from the deck area. The stars at night are magnificent in the clear winter skies. We love the solitude and feeling of space the location provides.
  • Sancha è stata fantastica! molto gentile e disponibile! La colazione che cita lasciato era deliziosa e l’alloggio più bello delle foto! La ringraziamo per la disponibilità

  • Wonderful location with amazing views, Sanchia made us feel very welcome. Very peaceful, very comfortable and would highly recommend to everyone. 5 stars. The scones were also delicious!

  • Very beautiful place with a great view! Sanchia was a very great host and helped us as far as possible to enjoy our stay at the cottage.

    Kevin2016-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • The place was simply beautiful. Very recommendable for an 'off-line' weeked. The hosts very kind and attentive. The only 'but': it was very difficult to get there. Not any more!! (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) ″W

  • Beautiful countryside, house and area. The photos do not do this property justice. the cottage is over two floors, very authentic looking. The view from the balcony is beautiful. Lots of kitchen facilities which made our stay easier. Also a lovely warm shower! Sanchia and Richard were lovely hosts, very friendly and accommodating. We had beautiful scones on arrival (its the little touches that makes the difference). We travelled as a young couple and a 6 month old baby, and this stay was exactly what we wanted.

    Charlotte2017-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • We didn’t want to leave. Beautiful, cosy stone cottage with a wood burning stove and fresh scones on arrival made our stay memorable. Sanchia is a great host. Warm and welcoming, she really made us feel at home and made sure to see us off safely at the end of our stay. The three lovely, friendly dogs that waited for us outside the door in the morning made it so special, as did the ducks and geese! We will be coming back, for sure.

    Yolanda2017-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful overnight getaway in the breathtaking Wicklow mountains. The 'cottage' is very cute and cosy and Sanchia was the perfect host. Breakfast of her own scones and duck eggs from the farm was a treat.

    Níall2017-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at the cottage was absolutely beautiful. It was very relaxing and we felt very cozy. The duck eggs were fantastic. The views were spectacular. I would definitely stay here again!

  • I cannot praise Beth and Lars enough! The Chalet was the perfect space my husband, my 18 month old daughter, and myself. Beth went above and bottoms and had milk for Cailey in the morning as well as cereal, snacks, and fruit ready for us. The rental was immaculate when we got there, and we kept finding little touches that really made it feel like our home instead of just a place to sleep for a few nights. Our favorite part was the toddler/child room complete with a toddler sized bed and a Pack and Play, a high chair, toys, and a play rug.

  • My boyfriend and I have just spent the weekend in the chalet and we could not be happier! The chalet is super cosy and clean and just a really lovely and different place to stay. There was a lovely hamper with snacks and brochures inside along with a booklet full to the brim with brochures to help with ideas. Beth came straight to us to introduce herself and see if we needed anything/recommendations which was lovely. Response to messages was fantastic so was able to get good advice for places to get for food etc. Honestly couldn't ask for a better place to stay and a better host, brilliant! We went to christy's for dinner once which was delicious!! Service was average but I would still go back because the lasagne was so good Glendalough was amazing to see so really recommend going to that as you also see the Wicklow mountains when there too. If you want to go to Wicklow, stay in this chalet. You won't regret it! Rachel xxx

    Rachel2018-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • The chalet is a perfect and relaxing place for your stay in Ireland. It would be best if you have a car, but the bus stop is about a 25 minute walk. The place was clean and inviting and Beth and Lar were so hospitable.

    Brianna2018-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • Nice little place to chill out after a day of hiking in Wicklow. Nice outdoor area with fire ready to be lit for our enjoyment.

    Blake2018-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • We have just returned home from a 4 night stay in the chalet and I would thoroughly recommend the place. This is our first experience of using an Airbnb and we will definitely be doing it again. I found the description of the accommodation was very accurate with good directions and local information which we used when planning our days out. We were visiting family a lot so didn't get to do as much as we would have liked, but we did squeeze in visits to Glendalough, Brittas bay, Avoca and Wicklow which we enjoyed and would recommend. We arrived late at the accommodation but found it easy to check in. There was a travel cot and high chair which was excellent for us as we have a young baby and this saved valuable space in the car. Beth and Lar provided a gorgeous hamper with snacks, there was tea/coffee and also everything for breakfast which was very thoughtful as it saved us rushing out in the morning to the shops. There were so many special and thoughtful touches, fresh flowers, toiletries, iPod, magazines, a nightlight and toys in the toddler room. The outside seating area looked lovely however the weather didn't allow us to make the most of it! The accommodation itself was very clean, comfortable and quiet. There were 3 adults and a baby in our group and we found there was plenty of room for all of us for the 4 nights. I hope we get the chance to return sometime as we had a great stay.

Fox's Den is a sympathetically restored 19th century traditional Irish stone cottage where peace and privacy are guaranteed. Nestled on a hillside over looking Croghan Mountain - a short distance from Aughrim Village in "The Garden of Ireland" Inside this charming home you'll find two cosy bedrooms with double beds, but the heart of the cottage is definitely in the living area, it's stonewash white walls, granite fireplace and wood burning stove make it the ideal place to switch off and relax.
Set off a private country lane close to Augrim village Fox's Den is over 200 years old. The cottage still maintains its pastoral heritage thanks to a recent restoration undertaken by it's owners. This ground up restoration has used local materials where possible such as the roof beams which are Japanese red larch sourced from a forest near-by. The fireplace and hearth have been painstakingly built by the current owner to using stone from the local quarry, which is complimented with a wood-burning stove to keep you warm as you settle in on those chilly evenings. The two charming and cosy bedrooms at Fox's Den have been generously furnished with fresh white linen on the beds and decorated with little details befitting the cottage and its era such as floral pillows, Irish lace and snug quilts. As the day draws to a close you can shut the curtains, turn on the fairy lights and light some candles to unwind and recharge your batteries. Should you wish to cook we have a fully equipped kitchen complete with all modern appliances, there is seating for 4 guests around the farmhouse table. You will find a brand new Shower-room, all linen and towels included. Laundry and ironing facilities adjacent the bathroom for your convenience. Breathtaking ever-changing views of the magnificent Croghan, a mountain which is over 2000ft in elevation are taken in from the cottage's front garden. Which is beautifully planted with flowers in bloom during the summer months, you can enjoy these views from the comfort of the 2 seater bench. We love our animals here and are proud to have a herd of rescue goats that just love attention, a chicken coop that provides the freshest of eggs for your breakfast, and our Horse ''OPEL'' and Donkey ''JACK'', who are all close by. Included in your rental is a carefully chosen Irish Breakfast pack all sourced locally.
Fox's Den is located in Threewells Aughrim which is a small Village in County Wicklow, Ireland, just 80 minutes away from the centre of Dublin and Rosslare Europort. Aughrim lies in a scenic valley in the ancient east of Ireland where the Ow and Derry rivers meet to form the Aughrim river. Aughrim proudly won the Irish Tidy Towns Competition in 2007. There are a number of unusual granite terraced houses throughout the village, constructed - along with a forge. Aughrim was a granite mining village, and this material is widely used, giving the village a distinctive and coherent architecture. Aughrim has become a popular venue for walkers thanks to the abundance of picturesque scenery. The Sean Linehan Way starts by Tinakilly Bridge on the east side of the village, while just to the west is the Ciaran Shannon Way. The two walks offer a mix of woodland and riverside, with rich bird and wild-life along well-maintained forestry trails and walkways. Located a 10 minute drive away is the famed Brooklodge and Maccreddin Village which boasts a luxury spa and many fine dining options including the renowned StrawberryTree restaurant which is the only certified organic restaurant in Ireland. Located on site at Brooklodge is the award winning Paul McGinley designed golf course.
  • The Fox's Den was a beautiful end to a surprisingly sunny trip to Ireland which made the Fox's Den all the more better. This is overall a great place to disconnect (no wifi) and relax. We stayed here because we wanted to see the country side and go to Glendalough to hike. The fox's den was about 30 min from Glendalough. We didn't spend time in downtown Aughrim but we drove through and it is very quaint. Alan and Linda were terrific hosts. We loved the breakfast basket and made ourselves an Irish breakfast feast with it. They made sure we knew where to find activities and groceries (also about 30 min away to a major grocery store). We loved their farm and had fun watching the animals (especially the lambs and their dogs). We would definitely recommend this place as a stop if you're looking to stay outside of Dublin!

    Becca2018-04-22T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I had such a lovely stay in Alan's cottage. Alan was a great host and provided a breakfast pack for us, which was a nice touch. The cottage is perfect, we hope to come back soon!

  • The Fox's Den is what Airbnbs are supposed to be. Lovely accommodations, a wonderful location, and the most friendly and helpful family make this place a true gem. The cottage is beautifully renovated to be cozy and comfortable, but it maintains the charm of the original building. Our favorite things were getting cozy by a fire at night, having breakfast (including eggs from their chickens) in the front garden, which has a great view of the countryside, and perhaps most of all, hanging out with Jack, Opal, and the chickens. I can't rate this place highly enough! It was exactly the Irish country experience we were looking for. In addition to the wonderful accommodations, the cottage is located a short drive from many small towns, each of which has its own unique charm and attractions.

    Julia2017-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay in this beautifully restored Irish cottage. It is a real hideaway tucked into the gorgeous Wicklow landscape. The cottage is so cosy, clean and has great character. You would need a car to get around but once you stock up on supplies you can light the fire (fuel provided) and relax in this gorgeous cottage and get away from it all. There was a tasty breakfast pack provided by the great hosts which is a lovely touch. Highly recommend this place!

    Clara2017-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • Alan's cottage is really nice, a great place to stay and have trips around. You'll need a car, for sure but it's well located and furthermore, you'll be warmly welcomed ! Très Joli cottage avec tout le confort, un emplacement central qui vous permettra de faire des virées aux alentours (jusqu'à Kilkenny), un accueil chaleureux et convivial !

    armelle2017-06-26T00:00:00Z
  • Such a beautiful and well kept cottage, tucked away in the Wicklow mountains. The hosts were attentively and welcoming and greeted us with a lit fire when we arrived! There was everything we needed for a bank holiday weekend away. The animals nearby added to the country charm of this cottage! With Brittas Bay nearby, Avondale House, Glendalough and many other beautiful attractions, there was lots to enjoy within driving distance from the cottage. We would highly recommend a stay at the Fox Den!

    Becky2017-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • This is a real gem! The location is perfect - rural and spectacularly beautiful but close to pretty village of Aughrim. The cottage is cosy and clean. Very comfortably furnished and beautifully decorated. It's a recently renovated 200 year old traditional Irish house - absolutely the best of both worlds in terms of charm and all mod cons. Alan and Linda are lovely hosts, helpful and friendly but leave you in peace. I cannot recommend the house and the hosts highly enough.

    Debbie2017-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful country home in tranquil Wicklow, lovely spot to get away from the city and completely unwind. The cottage is finished to a very high standard & attention is given to every detail. Loved the outdoor terrace too and the surrounding views were fantastic. Very highly recommended, wished we could have stayed longer! Thank you Alan, Linda & family for being such great hosts, wishing you every future success.

A nice cosy room with double bed and large private bathroom. On street parking outside house in quite cul-de-sac. Location - Derrybawn is situated in Aughrim which is a small village nestled South Wicklow mountains, with a large number of walks in local forests and surrounding hills which are very accessible. The area is great for cycling fishing and golfing. We are 5minutes away from Brook Lodge and 10minutes away from Ballybeg wedding venue. There is a farmers market on every Saturday.
You have a double bed in your room with dressing table hanging space and small breakfast table. From which I serve tea/coffee, cereal, fresh bread and Irish butter jam and marmalade. Breakfast is served in the privacy of your bedroom. Your bathroom is next to your bedroom and very well stocked, it is private to you except for the month of July when we mostly always have family staying for summer holidays. We are 10 minute walk from centre of the village from which we have shops, pubs, small hotel, and coffee shop. We are 20 minute drive from coast and 30 minute drive from Glendalough and the national park, and for the hill walkers we are approx. 3km.from the wicklow way. Although we have no public transport in the village we do have a good taxi service.
  • Great location in a beautiful town. Very comfortable room and very welcoming hosts. Booking and communication was very clear, quick, and straightforward. Ken also gave us a lift to Ballybeg House 7km away for the wedding we were attending and that gesture was much appreciated. Would highly recommend this stay to anyone else traveling in the area.

  • When you’re met at the door with a welcoming smile and handshake you know that your stay is going to be a pleasurable one. Anne made me very welcome and took the time to sit and have a chat. The room is beautifully decorated and is quiet and comfortable. Anne offered suggestions for places to have dinner and her recommendation for the Lawless Hotel proved a good choice. Her house has wonderful views from the kitchen windows and the location is in a quiet residential street. Breakfast was most enjoyable along with the numerous cups of tea poured from a teapot! Both Ken & Anne are great hosts and if I could score more than 10/10 I would. The goodbye hug made it even more special. I hope to return to this part of Ireland again and when I do I’ll definitely stay at Anne’s place.

    Hilary2018-05-15T00:00:00Z
  • This home is fantastic! Anne is so attentive in every way and provided lots of dining suggestions and ways to best enjoy the beautiful scenery in wicklow. Views of the wicklow mountains from her home are amazing Thanks so much

  • Anne was such a lovely host. She was quick to respond to queries and was kind enough to give us a lift to a wedding in Brooklodge. The house and room were immaculate. She had a supply of bits and bobs in bathroom like hair bobbins and make up remover which i really needed. What a gem!!!! The brekkie was left outside our room... like room service. Included lovely scone and brown bread. Highly recommend this as a stay.

    Elizabeth2018-06-02T00:00:00Z
  • Anne and Ken's place is perfect for a solo traveller or a couple. Quiet and clean. Anne and Ken are the epitome of Irish hospitality and charm. They made my stay (for a wedding) completely comfortable. You can get a local taxi but I would recommend a rental car/car hire if you want to explore County Wicklow. It's absolutely stunning there. If you're lucky, you will get to meet Ollie, their adorable dog. I can't recommend this place enough. A MUST STAY.

    Yvonne2018-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • Anne's place is perfect place to stay while in Aughrim. We were there for a wedding in mcreddin village and couldn't have asked for a nicer place and host!

  • Spent a night here while attend a wedding at Ballybeg nearby. Very convenient. Anne is an excellent host, welcoming, friendly, and very helpful. Accommodation is of a very high standard. The hospitality tray with beverages & biscuits was very much appreciated, as was breakfast complete with tasty scones. Would recommend this accommodation to anyone looking for a room in the area.

  • Aoife's place is amazing. It is situated in a perfect location close enough to the town but also allowing you the peace and tranquility of the countryside. The house is especially unique and we loved the individual design of each of the rooms. Myself and my wife stayed here for a romantic weekend and it was perfect. It would also be suitable for larger groups as the house is so spacious. The house was spotlessly clean, was very cosy and the bed was extremely comfortable. Aoife was a fantastic host. She was very friendly and the communication great. We are looking forward to staying here again.

  • My 8 friends and I just spent an incredible weekend at Aoife's place, and can't recommend it enough. Our only regret is that we didn't book it for longer. The house has everything you need, and then some. From the surrounding grounds, to the beds, our stay was wonderful. Thanks for everything, Aoife!

Beautiful country house hidden away in the heart of County Wicklow. It is centrally located for visiting all the attractions in the area. Close to Glendalough and Avoca. Wonderful location for hiking, fishing, equestrian, bikers and golfing.
The house has a rustic charm sited on 2 acres of woodland and lawns along the river bank with a mill race and island. There is an entrance hall, Kitchen/Dining room, Sitting room with open fireplace, with a sun room opening on to a deck, utility room and downstairs toilet. Upstairs there are three double bedrooms and a twin room. One of the double bedrooms can be converted into a twin room if necessary.
The house is located in the centre of wicklow in a quiet rural area ideal for visiting Glendalough, Avondale House and forest park ( Home of Charles Stuart Parnell) and Avoca (where Ballykissangel was filmed). Quaint villages with wonderful coffee shops. A hill walkers paradise. Mount Usher gardens, Clara Lara fun park are also close by. Great location for Golfing and canoeing.
  • Diane has been fantastic since our very first enquiry. All our questions dealt with swiftly. The house is a treasure. We had small children with us and not only did they enjoy the adventure they were safe aswell. The house is in a fantastic spot for discovering Wickow and it's beautiful countryside and beaches. The house is excellent value for money. I wish I could have bottled the sound of the babbling brook to bring home. Thank you Diane

  • We loved our stay in Ballinaclash and the house and setting is just beautiful. Diane was a wonderful host and went beyond the call of duty when there was a power cut in the village - welcoming us into her home for a cup of tea! The house is a real gem and the village is the perfect location for exploring Wicklow. We hope to be back....

  • Diane's place is remarkable. Right along a creek, tucked away, yet not too far away from town. My mom and I loved our stay. The space was very clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.

    Christy2018-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • Great house, well equipped and tastfully decorated. And Diane was very helpful and friendly.

    Will2015-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • This is a wonderful happy home that is full of character, you can almost hear the laughter from previous visitors! We visited with our two young children who settled in straight away delighted to find the children's books and basket of toys to explore. There is no TV which didn't bother us at all, the kids made fishing rods from sticks and went "fishing" in the calmer side of river, there's lots to read and the soothing sound of river is magical. Bring an extra layer if you feel the cold, your sleepers and wellies for exploring! There is lovely light that filters through the house during the day, with a Sun catch by the barbeque area. Remember this is an older property and comes with the country charm that you should expect. Diane is wonderful, kind, and happy to help in any way she can. The house is a credit to her watchful care, we hope to visit again in the summer.

  • We got a bit lost and arrived late but Diane was very accommodating and helpful. The house is really beautiful and very spacious and the location is stunning. It had everything we needed. There were 6 of us staying and we had more than enough room. We had a lovely few days exploring the surrounding area. We really enjoyed sitting in the little back room looking out over the river and cosying up round the stove in the evening. We would definitely recommend this place.

    Tara2016-04-15T00:00:00Z
  • She met us on arrival, everything was explained and overall very helpful and responsive.

    Cyril2016-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place in an idyllic setting. It was very cold when we went so the house took a while to get to a bearable temperature but it was snowing outside and its an old house. The location and the sound of the river flowing make it quite some place to stay. All the locals were really friendly too.

RedKite II is in the centre of the beautiful, quiet village of Avoca. It's the ideal base for walkers, explorers, writers, and those just seeking space. Enjoy the beauty of the surrounding countryside, the red kites flying overhead, the luxury, the history and character of the building itself.
This is one of two newly renovated, historic houses that are nestled in the centre of this beautiful and famous village. The house welcomes humans with their well behaved dogs (2max). We believe that you shouldn't have to sacrifice luxury when you travel whether you travel with your four legged companions or not, so we make sure you have every comfort, in a clean and beautiful home.
Avoca is most recently famous as the filming location for the TV series Ballykissangel, but its claim to fame in the late 1700's was as the site for Ireland's largest gold rush - a large nugget was discovered which prompted many thousands to come to find some more.
  • This is a lovely, recently renovated house filled with light. The location on the main street of Avoca is excellent. One of the most peaceful places I’ve ever slept. A great place to stay.

  • Firstly I would like to thank the host for such wonderful hospitality, she went out of her way to make us feel comfortable, she even gave us lifts and picked us up from several locations during our stay. Secondly the cottage was immaculate, very clean & spotless. Everything was such high quality and beautifully done, we all slept superb! The pictures don't really do the cottage justice! Very spacious and roomy too. Thirdly the location was beautiful! Beautiful village, beautiful walks and beautiful scenery. Everyone was very friendly in the village. The walks recommended by the host were stunning! We would certainly be returning in the future! Absolutely fabulous stay! Thank you ever so much!

  • Thank you Zandra, your house was wonderful, we both thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Avoca, thank you for being so accommodating as our host, the house was more than we expected- great, great- thank you

  • We had a great stay in Avoca village. Zandra's place was gorgeous - great attention to detail throughout. It was a very comfortable apartment and we had a very relaxing time. We were also able to use the apartment as a base to travel around Wicklow. Our dog Sadie also had a great time walking in the nearby forest! Communications with Zandra was also easy. Thanks Brendan & Maire and Sadie

  • What a wonderful house in a wonderful location. Right in the centre of the village, this house had everything. Oozing with a historical story, it had all the charm a you could want but yet modern with great comfort.Spacious and light and so tastefully decorated. Bedrooms were very big and the beds was so comfortable. Great showers and lots of hot water. The house was spotlessly clean. I only wish I could have stayed for longer. Zandra our host was welcoming and so thoughtful and had scrumptious freshly baked bread form Avoca and yummy granola left out for us as a welcome token. She even had some fresh milk in the fridge for that first cup of tea that everyone needs to have upon arrival! Check in was as swift and easy as check out. I travelled with my elderly parents who adored the house but we also felt it would be an ideal base for a family and kids as the location is so safe and the house is family-friendly with every utensil you could need. Games and activities were provided by Zandra and books on the area which is a treasure to explore. Wifi was great. I would recommend this house to everyone and I will be returning, such was the impression it made on us. Just a beautiful stay. Perfect.

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in RedKite II. Beautiful house, extremely comfortable in every way. Fantastic beds, showers and everything you could possibly need and more provided by Zandra who was a very kind and gracious host. Our little dog is missing her amazing walks in the many forest walks in Avoca and surrounding area, not to mention Brittas Bay. Thanks For everything Zandra. We hope to return, especially in Autumn and enjoy the spectacular Autumnal colours again. Kind regards. The Pattons.

  • Margaret's place is the perfect spot to explore the beauty of County Wicklow. The views are outstanding from the sitting room, the place airy, bright and clean and Margaret was extremely helpful and communicative. Would happily stay again for a bit longer next time.

  • The most perfect start to our family vacation. Everyone was comfortable. In the most picturesque village I have ever been to. Just perfect !!!!

    Sharon2018-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • Margaret is a great host and made us feel very welcome. We were given some great local information for our short stay. The house was immaculate and had everything we could have needed. This is a fantastic location only a 5 minute walk from Avoca village where we enjoy food, drinks and live music in Fitzgeralds bar. The views from the house are amazing! I would highly recommend a stay in Margaret's place.

  • A beautiful and stylish retro-home in the quiet Irish countryside. The home was large and roomy, clean and tidy, the beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped with proper cutlery and cooking/serving equipment, including a dishwasher. There was plentiful hot water and the WiFi and internet connection were solid. The location of the home is rural and a bit of a drive to Dublin (1-hour) but close to most attractions and places of interest in County Wicklow, including Glendalough National Park. Margaret is a lovely host, who enthusiastically greeted us upon arrival and checked-in with us by e-mail each day to see how our day went and if we needed anything else. Her hiking recommendation for Glendalough was perfect. There were some basic foodstuffs available in the kitchen, including fresh fruit and milk, coffee, tea and some cooking supplies.

    Tom2018-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Margaret welcomed us when we arrived in a very friendly way and suggested us a few hiking paths in the beautiful mountains of Wicklow. The house is amazing and has a great view of the mountains. She left some wood for us to light the stove. The house is perfect for a nature escape and is very close to Glendalough if you want to go hiking. Margaret was a very kind host. Thanks for everything!

    Francisco2018-04-02T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place with fantastic views out of the front window. We only stayed one night but wished we had stayed in Wicklow longer. Margaret was a great host and very accommodating as we had to check out a bit late with my dad’s limited mobility situation. Really can’t say enough about the beauty of the surrounding area and the views from the houses elevated position - really really peaceful and beautiful.

    Andrew2018-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely stunning location and a wonderful house. It has everything you need and is just a 10 min walk into the village. Margaret is a fantastic host and supplied us with lots of information about where to go walking and eating. We really enjoyed our stay and would certainly recommend it.

    Brenda2018-06-07T00:00:00Z
  • I was on vacation (holiday) with my mother and mother in law from the USA. We chose Margaret’s place because of the view and location. Each bedroom has its own sink and mirror. This made sharing a bathroom a breeze because we could all brush our teeth, wash our faces and do makeup all in our rooms. The kitchen has all the cookware you need and was also stocked with the basics like olive oil, milk, coffee and tea. There is fast, reliable WiFi with made FaceTiming my children back home very simple. There is no television, but trust me you won’t miss it! Margaret is a superb host! The house was clean and has the most amazing view. Margaret had great tips and went above and beyond to make our stay wonderful. She always responds quickly and makes herself available is we needed anything! Will definitely stay again!

It truly was a quaint cottage set across the road from a stream that you could hear when you went out front or had the windows open. So relaxing! Very clean and comfy, just like my grandmothers house was growing up. We will be back and are planning on bringing another couple with us when we return! Thanks again Orla!

Stunning four bedroom detached home set in a lovely cul-de-sac of just 16 homes. Would perfectly suit a family or a group. It’s location allows visitors to take full advantage of the town’s close proximity to the beautiful Glendalough famous for it’s walks. Also Ireland’s famous Brittas Bay beach is a mere few minutes’ drive away from the property. With the new motorway Arklow is now only a 40 min drive from Dublin meaning the property is also suitable for business commutes.
  • Very much enjoyed our two week stay at Andy’s place. Great location at the top of Arklow town. House was spacious, modern, and very comfortable and had everything we needed. Host was extremely attentive. Will definitely stay here again on our next trip to Ireland.

Nice and close to the town, but still quiet, great amenities in the house if you need them. Was also kind enough to be flexible on the check in time. 5 stars all round.

  • Perfect location for a wedding in Brook Lodge!

  • Enda was good on communication, always getting back to me in a speedy manner. The location of the house was perfect. A quick drive from everywhere needed to go for the wedding we were attending. My only issue was the cleanliness of the home. There were French friends and fried chicken all over the floor and jammed into the couch. I had to remove the couch cushions and dig out whole pieces of fried chicken. I let her know. She explained her sister went to clean and brought her kids. Must have been an accident. That's fine. I have a toddler myself so. O biggie. My bathroom in the master bedroom was so gross I refused to use it the 3 days we were there. Enda offered to refund the stay so we could go somewhere else, but we were there for a wedding and couldn't just find new lodging. The bathroom downstairs was a bit more tidy, but still it was gross. Things weren't even wipes down. Looked like a partial vomit stain behind the toilet. Water, grime, and hairs everywhere. Kitchen and the floors needed to be cleaned. And I'm pretty sure our bed sheets never got washed. Hairs everywhere under the comforter and On top of our sheet. it was disgusting.

  • Three of us were in the area for a wedding at Ballybeg House and had a wonderful stay at Enda's place. It was exactly what we wanted for a couple of days in town.

  • Great responsiveness. The appartment is clean, well decorated and located.

    Pierre2018-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • Enda's place was great. Very good location for walking around the Wicklow mountains, and in the centre of Aughrim with plenty of nice pubs and good food. Communication with Enda was easy and relaxed. Would definitely recommend.

  • Nice place, very accommodating hosts.

    Michael2017-04-02T00:00:00Z
  • Edna was extremely good at communication. Such a shame that unfortunately the standard of cleanliness rendered the flat entirely inappropriate for renting. We found alternative accommodation which was such a shame as Edna is lovely.

    Lou2016-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • This apartment is really comfortable and very centrally located in town! We had a wedding in Brooklodge and this was a perfect place to stay. Check in and check out was super easy and Enda was very friendly and helpful in all communication. Would definitely recommend staying here to anyone visiting Aughrim!

Escape to the mountains or the beach, or simply chill on the patio. Located in the small hamlet of Kilcarra in the Vale of Avoca between Arklow and Woodenbridge. Perfect for exploring Wicklow's superb amenities including Glendalough, Wicklow Way hiking trail, Wicklow Jail, Mount Usher Gardens and several nearby Golf courses. Dublin is a 1hour 15min drive. Countryside and woodland walks right from the house. Bikes available. Large paved area outside. Family friendly! I look forward to hosting your visit to Wicklow!
Sequoia is a spacious home which started life as a stone cottage in the 1870s. Many of the old stone and timber features have been retained and are supplemented in the newer build by wooden beams and wood burning stoves. The house has a large open plan kitchen/ lounge area and a separate old style cosy lounge. The town of Arklow is 5km and Woodenbridge is 2km. Guests will have a choice of browsing a National Geographic magazine collection or catching up on Netflix.. Nature lovers will enjoy the area!
The house is part of a row of cottages, opposite which there is a large green playing area.. The area is quite scenic and is surrounded by woodland and farm land.. There are several possibilities for woodland and countryside walks or cycling in the area.. There are also superb mountain biking trails in the adjacent woods (Note this activity would require suitable bikes).
  • Perfect stay couldn’t fault it at all,I would say the photos don’t do the house justice perfect location for going on walks and going to beautiful landmarks.

  • Danny’s place is perfect for a relaxing family stay. Our children (aged 10) & 1 we’re both very happy here, and so were we. The house is spacious and the location is great, with lots to do in the area. Highly recommended for a family break. Thanks Danny.

    Helen2018-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Sequoia was absolutely perfect; the house is charming, spacious and in a stunning location, yet only a 5 min drive from Arklow with all the usual big supermarkets and amenities. Check-in was friendly and seemless, the house is beautifully designed and appointed and my kids loved the toys, scooters and bikes as well as the big garden and swings. They really enjoyed the space to explore and befriended one of the neighbours dogs! We had blissful sunshine during our stay and enjoyed patio barbecues at sunset. Danny has compiled a great info manual for day trips and local spots (our personal favourites being Clogga Strand beach and Greenane Maze where we enjoyed solving the maze and a treasure hunt nature walk. The area is really spectacular and we could have easily done a second week; so many lovely spots within Wicklow and to the south in Wexford; miles of fantastic beaches. My kids are already asking when we can go again.

    Jane2018-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • Danny ensured that his home was welcoming and comfortable for us with our two infants. The accommodation is in a lovely rural setting with plenty of walks both from the door and nearby. The children especially loved the horse in the garden and the friendly local dogs.

With views over the valley, "Ananda" has its own woodland and stream and is perfectly situated for guests to explore beautiful places such as Avondale Forest Park, Glendalough, Glenmalure and Avoca. Stunning Brittas Bay is only 20 minutes away by car.
Prior to August 2018 we offered guest accommodation in our family home "Whitebeam". However, we have just renovated a separate building close to the house as a new guesthouse. "Ananda", which is the Tibetan word for "bliss", is self-catering and completely separate from the original cottage which dates back to 1905. It boasts a luxurious sleigh bed for your comfort and has both electric heating and a wood-fired stove. The whole property is on a three acre site, two thirds of which is covered by mature woodland. A year-round stream flows through the trees. Drinking water comes from our own well. "Whitebeam" is home to three friendly dogs and our resident hens who supply us with delicious organic eggs. There are two beehives situated in a secluded spot, well away from the house. We do not use herbicides or pesticides on our land, so please excuse the occasional weed!! We are fortunate to have buzzards and red kites overhead most days. We are also visited by many other species of bird including sparrowhawk, tree-creeper, goldfinch, bullfinch and Ireland's smallest bird, the goldcrest. The most recent species to be identified is the long-eared owl, who's call you may be lucky enough to hear at night.
Visitors really are spoilt for choice when it comes to beautiful scenic places to visit, for example the valley and lakes of Glendalough are less than 20 minutes drive away. The famous Avoca Handweavers offering delicious food and gifts is in the nearby village of Avoca.

  • This house was a very good place where stay. Clean, with a beautiful garden and forest just beside. John and his wife were very welcoming with us. Further that, they were drive us for visit the area (at greenan maze) and at the end John had also propose to drive us at Dart station. (at the moment we have not rent a car) I must say that was something that I will never forget, the kindness of this family. I recommand this AirBnb for everyone. Sorry for my mistakes in english.

A rural paradise with beautiful views, close to the sea, sandy beaches and hills. One hour from Dublin, close to Avoca Village and the original Avoca Handweavers. Ballykissangel was filmed here. The Chalet has been newly renovated and includes a kitchenette and en-suite shower room. Breakfast includes free range eggs and home grown fruit in season.( It is is not suitable for children under 10 years due to a stream in garden. Sorry but safety is important.)
The Chalet is on a quiet little country road, L2172 for your Sat.Nav. Note: I would recommend you having your own transport, as the location is rural.

  • Kathleen’s home in Avoca is home away from home, and right in the heart of Avoca. The neighborhood is lovely, and the people are friendly and welcoming. Be sure to check out the Avoca Handmill, Tara Hendley’s Fish and Chips at the corner of the bridge, the older Castle Macadam, and the beautiful flowers spread all across town! Avoca is a close drive to Dublin, to Gorey, The Chocolate Gardens, the Bull Island, and many other castles. The responses were quick, the home was clean and comfortable, and the views were amazing. We will definitely stay there again if we are ever in Ireland again!

You have Fitzgeralds with great food few steps away. Local store and pharmacy are very close too. No problems with parking. And whole Wicklow is around you.

A ground floor garden flat in a converted coach house. Elegant and comfortable with a living room, separate kitchen with breakfast table. Adjacent to the bustling market town of Gorey and all the glorious beaches of the Sunny South East, this flat is nestled in a secluded award winning garden in the picturesque village of Coolgreany. The village has a friendly country shop and two pubs.
My mother, Lolo, has lovingly built this garden from an overgrown wild field into an award winning paradise, She is now 86 and still gardens every day. Lolo occupies the top floor of the Coach House. The entrances to the apartments are separate. My family live in the main house in the same garden. You will be left in peace unless you seek us out!
Our village has a shop which sells almost everything, two pubs, one which serves food and a post office. The local towns offer much more to do with Gorey in particular offering great shopping, cinemas, library, tourist activities. Arklow has a great mall for rainy days with shopping and cinemas under the same roof. My favourite places to visit very close by are Kilmichael Point where there's a spectacular cliff walk down onto Kilmichael beach and our local woodland walk at Ballyfad woods. Wells House and The Lavender Farm are great for kids as well as the swimming pool complex in Courtown Harbour. A visit in summer would bot be complete without a trip to Clara Lara Fun park. Further afield, Glendalough is unmissable and Mount Usher Gardens in Ashford a must see. There's tons to do and specific interests in wildlife, history, architecture, food, the sea, hill walking, gardening are all well satisfied in this area.
  • This was our first experience of airbnb and it was nothing but positive. Sally was an excellent host, she made us feel very welcome and the accommodation was exactly as described... we will definitely be back but might leave it to the summer next time!

    Ryan2016-11-23T00:00:00Z
  • If you love a quiet and peaceful place to stay then Sally's restored coach house is the place for you and yet so accessible to so many beautiful places to visit. The garden is beautiful and the comfort of the coach house made it a perfect location for us. Sally's warm welcome and very generous welcoming pack started our holiday in a great way then her ideas where to visit where to eat for lunches or dinners added to our stay. We loved our stay in Coolgreaney and would highly recommend staying with Sally as a hostess she makes your stay very special without intruding. BTW the town of Gorey is a fantastic town especially for females as the boutiques and shoe shops are a must to visit!

    Eleanor2017-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • Sally is a fabulous host. She is very friendly and welcoming. She made my family's stay at her place a very relaxing and comfortable experience. I cannot recommend her highly enough! Thanks again! :-)

    Nicole2017-05-31T00:00:00Z
  • This stay was, to be blunt, rather perfect. Sally was welcoming and accessible to a degree I have rarely (if ever) experienced from a host in the past. I simply cannot complain about a single thing. There are three things that I did not know going into this rental that would have made me even more likely to strongly recommend it to others. The first is that as beautiful as the outside picture is of this home, the inside is equally beautiful. Secondly, for those (like me) who are seeking a slice of quiet, Coolgreany fits the bill. When the loudest noise you hear at night is the distant mooing of a cow, you soon learn to appreciate just how noisy every other place is. Finally, there is the pub. This home is just doors away from a delightful village pub. Do not think "noise", though. Imagine a convent, but one that served alcohol. Simply perfect, and a fine bonus to everything else.

    Donal2016-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely cottage with a beautiful garden. Ideal to explore the wonderful area around Coolgreany and has the added bonus of a local pub just a few meters away... Sally is a great host and will make you very welcome in her cottage.

    Kyra2017-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • Sally was an amazing host! She stocked the fridge with essentials for our arrival which was such a thoughtful and kind touch. We were so appreciative. The coach-house is lovely and comfortable. Plenty of space and in a great location. Coolgreany is small and in a great spot for touring the area. Sally has great advice on the area and the community was so welcoming when we went to the pubs and dinner. It was a great stay and would highly recommend.

    Amy2017-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • The place located in a small town, quiet and cosy. People would know you if you going Coolgreany Inn or the convenient store. It's also very convenient to drive to other attractions such as Kilkenny, Arklow and Glendalough; if you're not using the freeway/motorway, you would have magnificent drive to other attractions, using small and unmarked roads. The house has an enormous garden with variety of plants, you could walk around or just simply look through the window. Interior is excellently decorated, artistic feel.

    Thoai2016-07-24T00:00:00Z

  • We were the first guests, and absolutely loved our experience. Our hostess Ann went above and beyond for everything, and she really made us (Email hidden by Airbnb) munication was very easy from the start, we got great recommendations, and were warmly welcomed. The house and its garden are gorgeous. The bedroom and its private bathroom were very clean and beautiful, with an amazing view on the garden. The breakfast was delicious (full Irish, fruits, scones, ..). Our favorite room was the music room, where we spent a few hours reading by the fire. Thanks again for everything!

  • We had a wonderful stay in Clone Country House. The grounds are lovely and the rooms are spacious and clean with lovely period charm. Svetlana was unobtrusive and yet so helpful- we returned late to our room after a wedding and had to leave early the next morning for a flight and everything was so easy to arrange. We would love to return and plan to soon!

Spacious double bedroom available in Arklow, only a 10 minute drive from Brittas Bay beach and a 10 minute walk from Arklow town and the shopping centre.
Our house is a really bright place, surrounded by nature and not far from the town, on the other hand. We are quite a big family - it is my husband, myself, our 7-month-old daughter, 2 lovely dogs and a cat.
  • Good room and very peaceful house and garden.

Beautiful, newly renovated 18th Century building in the heart of Avoca Village (filming location for Ballykissangel) Two pet-friendly, luxury houses each with accommodation for up to 4 guests. Nestled in the village centre. Red Kite Walk, Avoca Handweavers and Fitzgeralds pub all just a short walk away. Ideal for walkers, writers and anybody looking for a quiet escape to a beautiful village
Red Kite I is a spacious, 2 bedroomed home with plenty of character. High ceilings, big, spacious rooms, it is very comfortable. Originally the site for the church in Avoca, the building was re-developed in c 1820 as the first National (primary) school. It then became the Post Office and only in recent times was renovated completely to become a private residence.
Avoca is in the heart of Wicklow, Ireland's Garden County. The hilly, green and lush landscape is ideal for walking, cycling, trail running, creative activities and simply a haven for quiet retreat. Avoca was famous at the end of the 1700's when a nugget of gold was found in the river, which prompted a mad gold rush.
  • Wow... Zandra was amazing. Great communication throughout. The house is wonderful and in an amazing village. Only after we arrived did we realise we were in idyllic Ballykissangel !!! The locals are all friendly as well. What can I say, beautiful and well presented house. Some nice welcoming touches with some bread, cake, coffee , tea etc. Wood burning stove with fuel, Tesco only 15 minutes down the road. At night the house is dead quiet. You do get "commuter" traffic in the morning and going home time but the it all settles down to be peaceful again. My EE phone was able to get a good voice signal in the house. Despite the photos, this is an ancient building recently done up and brilliantly done. Nice and warm or cool as required. Go for it folks !!!

    Stephen2018-04-26T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed in Zandra's place on one of the coldest nights of the year and it was as cosy as could be - really warm when we arrived and a wood-burning stove. We met Zandra when we arrived and she made us feel very welcome (dog and all!). The house is really nice- lovely carpets, kitchen has everything you would need and a really nice room to eat in. There is an enclosed back garden area that is small but perfect for letting the dog out for some fresh air. The village is quiet but that's exactly what we were looking for. Would highly recommend Zandra's house to anyone. I'll be back!

  • The house is wonderful and very spacious, the photographs don't do it justice. Zandra is a great host and made us feel very welcome and treated us to some arrivals treats which we enjoyed after our long journey.

  • What a little gem. So close to all the charming amenities in Avoca. Like a tardis. High ceilings downstairs made it feel so large. Bedrooms cosier. Very nicely decorated. We would definitely choose to come back here if ever in the area. Thank you Zandra for being such a kind hostess.

    Sylvia2018-05-07T00:00:00Z
  • Zandra was very fast to respond to us and this property is very comfortable, clean and location is perfect for travelling to see all the beautiful Wicklow sights. Avoca is a little gem. Thank you Zandra.

  • A clean and stylish house with all necessary amenities. Comfortable and warm. Close to the town of Arklow.

    Justin2018-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • We were the first guests to be lucky enough to enjoy Zandra's beautifully refurbished historic cottage in the village of Avoca. Emma and I (and Pickle, our Jack Russell) were warmly welcomed and felt that nothing was too much trouble for our host. Zandra went out of her way to make sure that we were as comfortable as possible, resulting in a wonderful holiday in a lovely relaxing environment. This holiday cottage is a gem, with an ambience that is perfect for a retreat, close to all the beauty of the Avoca valley and surroundings. We cannot recommend it highly enough!

You’ll love our place because of the views, the location, and the ambiance. Our place is good for couples and solo adventurers. Our house is at the top of a hill, next to the forest with lots of places to walk, run and explore. Avondale House is only 5K away and Glendalough is a 20 minute drive. It is in a very tranquil setting, but the nearest pub and shop is 2K down the hill!
You are very welcome in our home and hope that you will relax and enjoy the unique surroundings. The house is very warm and comfortable in the winter with a wood burning stove heating the whole house, and nicely cool in the summer.
Ballinaclash is a small little village in the heart of Wicklow, The Garden of Ireland. We are close to so many beautiful places - Glenmalure, Glendalough, Avondale Forest Park to name just a few!
  • Beautiful cabin in the mountains - about 25 min drive from Glendalough - amazing hiking trails. Host were helpful with local tips. Definitely recommend.

  • Such a lovely stay here, beautiful home near Brookelodge where we were attending a friends wedding. The room was lovely and a chocolate left on the bed was a sweet touch! Thanks so much again, would recommend you to friends.

  • This lovely home in the beautiful Wicklow mountains could not be more idyllic. The house itself is a real haven. Nice comfy rooms, fantastic surroundings with views to die for and very tasty breakfast in the mornings to keep you going on the many nearby excursions. A stones throw away from great hiking and pristine beaches, perfect for anyone looking for an escape to the great outdoors. Sandra was an absolutely fantastic host who was really easy to chat to and provided lots of helpful information about the area. Such a lovely couple and a perfect holiday location. Highly highly recommended!

  • What a lovely place and hosts! My wife and I really enjoyed our one-night stay at Sandra's Log Cabin. Nice and clean room, comfortable bed, very quiet, close to nature surroundings and more importantly: exceptional hospitality of our hosts! Highly recommending it as a base for exploring beautiful Wicklow mountains and lakes.

  • Perfect location for exploring Wicklow County. The town of Aughrim is very charming and has a couple of great restaurants and pubs. Avoca, Wicklow town, Glendalough are all short drives from the house. The house itself is huge! First floor has a big living room, kitchen with a dinning table that sits 6 people I believe. There are 4 bathrooms, 3 are full and the one on 1st floor is a half. All bedrooms have their own bathrooms. The beds are very comfortable. We enjoyed having a fire each night we stayed. There is parking right in front of the house but the whole town is walkable. The house has all the amenities you could ask for. John even had cheese and crackers put out for us upon arrival. Very easy communication with John and all his local tips made our trip so memorable. If you are going to visit this area of Wicklow County I highly recommend this house.

    Julie2017-11-28T00:00:00Z
  • John was a great host and went over and above to make sure we had everything we could possibly need. It's a great house in a super location. Great for a young family like ours as well as individuals or couples travelling alone.

    Christina2016-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • John's place is beautifully presented with everything you need, the bed linen and bath towels were high quality - it was a pleasure to stay there for 4 nights, felt like we were in a 5 star hotel. We were in Aughrim from Australia for a family wedding so we missed John's initial visit but he contacted us and rescheduled, he was very obliging and helpful. Being next to one of the local hotels was handy. We found the Irish hospitality was amazing - we had the best weekend. We would highly recommend John's place to family and friends and would love to stay there again in the future. John, Bron, Nathan, Jess & Josh

  • This is an amazing house! Much bigger than I expected with the bedrooms spread over 3 floors. Good bedding and towels provided. A very nice touch of some cheese and crackers provided for us when we arrived as well as fresh milk in the fridge. Tea and coffe are also provided. We were there for a wedding at Ballybeg House, this is a good location for that venue. John is an excellent host and very good to reply to messages.

    Ronan2017-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely clean property in a gorgeous little village. Just walk through the gate and you're at the local pub for dinner. We loved it here and John was very generous in sharing his local knowledge with us. Great stay. Five stars!

    Shelley2017-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay at John's house in Aughrim; it was centrally located in the village, close to all amenities, and plenty of space for parking. The house was very comfortable and spacious, just what we needed. John kindly provided a travel cot and also offered local tips regarding restaurants and places to go. Thank you John.

  • The location, right in the town, was excellent, and the hosts Bernie and John, couldn't have been more helpful. Because it is in the town, with a bar nearby, there was a bit of noise one night, though it didn't go on too late. There's good public parking nearby, free on Saturday and Sunday.

  • We loved the place and had an amazing time. We will definitely be back, they've done an amazing job with the house. The whole family was blown away! We had a large family group of 16 and we were very comfortable.

    Stephanie2017-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • I'm writing this review as a warning to guests that although listed as private, this is actually a shared house. When we arrived, we realised a woman and her dog lived in the home. I came down in the morning to make breakfast and turned round to see a large unknown man making tea in the kitchen. Throughout that day half a dozen strangers came in and out the house to use the bathroom and kitchen. We never got given a key. At 10.30pm at night a man walked through the front door and up the stairs. Obviously, this was an alert for us as our children were asleep in the house. One of our members saw the man going into the woman's room. He left at 1.30am, waking up half of our group. Despite the obvious annoyance that this caused, the worst thing about this situation was the host's reaction. Jeff, who manages the property was rude and unwilling to see that this was not acceptable. I decided to ask for 20% back on the property, which I thought was more than fair. He said my claim was "absurd and quite frankly offensive". He said we were making up stories to try and claim money back. He asked me to get my guests to write witness testimonials to say we saw a man at nighttime (he said I shouldn't have been bothered by the daytime strangers, but he understood we were upset with the nighttime strangers). Once he got the testimonials, he said he would pay me the money if I didn't write a review. When I outlined the Airbnb extortion policy, he started calling me names. We finally got 20% of our money back when I finally said I'd report him to Airbnb and ask for a full refund, which I should have done sooner, considering the way he was talking to me. Unfortunately, this amazing house in a beautiful setting was completely ruined by very poor management practices, and one of the rudest and unfair hosts (and people) that I've ever had to deal with. I highly suggest you look elsewhere if you're looking for a peaceful, private, drama free stay. The wifi also doesn't work. And despite telling me twice that there was a BBQ, there wasn't one there, which he told us after we'd planned a BBQ birthday party and bought all the food.

  • Beautiful place and great hosts. Our family of 30 with 7 children and 2 dogs were very comfortable and the kids loved playing in the house and grounds. Thanks for the great weekend.

  • I booked this house for family for my wedding at Ballybeg House. It was so convenient as far as location, and being able to have so many family members in one place! Although I didn't stay there personally, I visited the house a couple of times over a couple of days. I had roughly 20 family members from both sides that gave the Clone house raving reviews,so my review reflects what they told me. The hosts were extremely helpful and happy! There is an adorable dog on site that is very well mannered, and everyone loved. The house layout makes you feel like you are in a mini mansion all to yourselves, and there are loads of rooms and space for children (and adults!) to explore. A++ Clone House! Thank you for taking such good care of my family and family-in-laws!

    Kate2018-06-21T00:00:00Z
  • Clone House was perfect for a large family get-together. There was so much space, including nooks for hide and go seek/nerf wars. The kitchen had every imaginable utensil possible. All of the bedrooms were unique and the bathrooms so authentic. The bedrooms were all very clean, very spacious, with freshly made beds which were very comfy. There were facilities to wash clothes, store food and barbeque. The Kitchen was perfect for cooking and chatting, with a constantly hot Aga, which ment that the kettle was always ready to make a pot of tea, from the many many tea pots available. The spacious living room was sunny and so welcoming, we lit the fire for the evening and so the room was inviting all through our stay. The grounds were fantastic. Plenty to explore, lovely walks and plenty of wildlife to spot - so natural and welcoming. Overall I rate out stay 5 out of 5 and look forward to visiting again some day.

  • Our hosts had a big part in the success of our trip to Ireland, since they did everything to make our life easy before and during our stay (a group of 13 people). Beautiful house and setting, fluid communication prior to visit which was very much appreciated, and meals of quality. I am sure that the small problems we met with the plombing in a few bathrooms will be fixed soon. Thanks again for everything, I definitely recommend it !

  • Beautiful house in a lovely setting. 17 of us stayed here for a hen party. It worked out perfectly. The bedrooms are fabulous. We had our main meal in the lovely dining room. Roaring fires in the fireplaces really added to the atmosphere. Seemingly constant supply of high pressure hot water for showers and baths, which was great to find in a house of this age.

    Caoimhe2017-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • We booked Clone House for our wedding reception and would highly recommend. The house is beautifully restored with great character. The kitchen is very well equipped which was ideal for preparing our food for the day. Svetlana was very helpful and was on hand for questions we had. The grounds are beautiful and very well kept. The breakfast that Svetlana and her team made was gorgeous and they were very accommodating with making a few vegan breakfasts.

An ideal base in the sunny southeast, nestled midway between glorious long sandy beaches of Wexford & breathtaking mountains of Wicklow. Walking distance to all the towns' amenities & beautiful Glenart Castle & woods for bikers, runners / walkers. Ideal for hikers, holiday makers or business travellers. Surf school in nearby Brittas Bay! A break with a country feel, yet only an hour from Dublin. Serviced by trains and buses, but car allows you greater freedom to explore. Free parking.
My place is cosy and a unique style modern house. Use of kitchen at agreed times. Tea & coffee making facilities. Acessible to historic Glendalough, Gorey, Brittas Bay, Wexford beaches and mystical woods.
Why not unwind with a treatment? Reflexology, reiki, aromatouch massage, sports massage, Indian head massage can be arranged, if requested at time of booking. We are in the garden of Ireland, so whether you like the ocean, woods / forest, hills or mountains, they are all easily accessed. If you are a fan of outdoor pursuits, this is the spot for you. Your host is a keen exercise enthusiast who will direct you to classes. If you just want to chill, the town has a small shopping centre, a great new library, cafes and pubs, yoga rooms and beauty services.
  • Maire is a great host. From our first inquiry, she was quick in responding, very nice and accommodating which certainly contributed to our nice weekend in Arklow. Upon our arrival, she gave us tips where to go, what to see and good places to eat. The room was nice, bright and spacious, bed comfy and shower hot. We'd come back anytime and recommend Maire's place and Maire as a host.
