Drift off to the sound a a babbling brook outside the bay window in this cozy country cottage. Take a hike in a protected forest right outside your door or head to downtown Williamstown and North Adams for amazing museums, theaters, dance, music, and restaurants.
There is a parking space at the end of the driveway near the cottage marked by a red wagon. A stone path leads to the cottage from the space. Please don't park on the lawn near the cottage as that could damage the septic tank. The cottage is best for a maximum of two adults or two adults and one child. There is a queen bed on the first floor and bathroom with small stall shower. There is a loft accessible by ladder/stair with a twin bed in it. Because of the access the loft is not suitable for really young children and because of the size of the cottage and the configuration of the ladder, the space is tight for three adults especially for multiple nights. We supply sheets, towels, blankets, pillows, and coffee & tea. The cottage is heated. There is no air conditioning but AC is rarely needed in the Berkshires in the summer. There is a ceiling fan and a table fan. Important note: There is no kitchen in the cottage and no grill outside. We ask that you not cook — please don’t bring a camp stove. There is a mini fridge, coffee maker, and an electric kettle but there are no facilities or equipment for preparing meals. The cottage does not have a microwave. The tap water comes from the municipal water system and is perfectly safe to drink. There is no freezer. If you need ice, please let us know and we are happy to provide it. We provide mugs, coffee, tea, and sugar but you will need to BYO milk or cream if you want it. We ask you not to smoke in the house or anywhere on the property. We supply shampoo and conditioner and there is a blow dryer in the top of the closet. There are window coverings for privacy but no room darkening shades and two large windows are uncovered. If you need a dark space for sleeping, we recommend you bring an eye mask.
Our neighborhood feels like the country but you are only about 1.5 miles from downtown Williamstown. Our property backs up to the Mountain Meadow, a Trustees of the Reservations property.
  • We called Katherine to say we were almost there, and within a minute of our arrival, Jerry was there to greet us, orient us, and to suggest a couple of places we might enjoy for dinner. The cottage was comfortable, and the bed was superb, but if you don't like steep ladders, you might not feel comfortable using the upstairs bed. There is a little patio with a couple of lounge chairs for reading and watching the sky and listening to the brook. Advisory: Be smarter than Hansel and Gretel and me, and if you hike into the lovely woods across the magical bridge, be sure to put a marker at the top of the path that takes you back down the zigzag path; I gave up too soon looking for the path and got a bit lost but found a wonderful rescuer to take me back "home". That was the first of some wonderful adventures in Williamstown and beyond.

  • The Brookside Cottage is beautifully located near a soothing brook and some great trails for hiking and running just across your own bridge. We only stayed one night and weren't able to meet the hosts. It was organized smoothly via the internet and we received info if we needed help during our stay. We did miss a kettle to make ourselves coffee or tea. It's a great room in a quaint wooden little house, but wouldn't consider it a cottage.

    Mathieu2013-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful and cozy cabin. I just loved hearing the sound of the brook and waking up to the view of the woods every morning. It made such a good getaway from the city. Also close to amazing food and Mass MoCA. Will definitely be back again! Thank you!

  • The cozy brookside cottage in Williamstown is a great place to stay for short visits to the Berkshires. Williams College and the Clark art museum are a very short drive, and the trails just across the brook are beautiful! The cottage itself is comfortable - firm bed, reading chairs in a bay window. There are no cooking facilities, but a small refrigerator can hold everything you need for a continental breakfast. The internet is fast, though in a setting like this, you probably won't want to be peering at a screen. Katherine and Jerry were very responsive, making themselves available for any guest needs.

  • Perfect bijou cottage! Set before a babbling river and forest, we were blessed with sunny Fall weather, enjoyed walks over the wire rope bridge 'across the river and into the trees'! Great base for exploring Williamstown and North Adams, Mt Greylock etc. Jerry was a very helpful and we coming host. I look forward to returning one day.

  • I've stayed here twice and love the location! Great place to go to get away.

    Caitlin2018-05-18T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was just perfect, my boyfriend couldn't stop raving about it . Very close to North Adams for restaurants .we hope to visit again soon!

    Lesley2017-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • The place was fantastic -- we really enjoyed the sounds of the babbling brook to fall asleep to. Very relaxing but also wonderful that it's close to town as well. Jerry was super friendly and made us feel right at home.

This is a private room, shared bath, with double futon bed plus memory foam mattress topper, in my charming home on a quiet street at the base of Pine Cobble in Williamstown, Mass. 25-min walk to downtown area with shops, eating establishments. Close to local museums, hiking trails, colleges. I do not offer breakfast, but have granola bars and juice in your room, (coffee, tea in dining room), and sometimes make muffins on the weekend which you would be welcome to share. Parking in my driveway.
My home sits on the slope of a hill surrounded on two sides by trees, with a bit of wooded area in the back. We are in northern Berkshire county, on a very quiet street away from the center of town. Near Sterling & Francine Clark Art Museum, Williams College and Museum, Williamstown Theatre Festival, MCLA, MASS MoCA. There's a great local food co-op (Wild Oats Market), lots of hiking trails (including Mt Greylock), theater in the summers . . . it's generally a beautiful area. Directly up my street, a few minutes walk from my home, is the entrance to the Pine Cobble hiking trail. You would rent the sitting room / spare bedroom at the front of the house, which has a double futon bed with a memory-foam mattress topper. Your bedroom has direct access to the shared bathroom. (There is a separate entrance to the bathroom from the front hall.) It is a cozy sort of room with 2 windows, but somewhat spacious, with a large bookshelf full of books that you are welcome to read during your stay. In the summer months, I put a window fan in the back window of your room for some cool air during the warmer times.
The house is on a dead-end and very quiet road, with only 4 houses on the street, and so traffic is minimal. In nice weather, the enclosed front porch is a very pleasant place to relax; in winter, there is plenty of room there for storage of skis. My driveway is small, but will fit 2 cars side by side and another car behind mine. You would probably be parking beside my car on the right side of the driveway. (My roommate will probably park behind my car on the left side.) We have a local railway nearby, which is not a passenger rail. It passes close enough to my house to make some noise, so you may hear (unless you are used to it, as I am) the train passing in the evening on its regular schedule.
  • Karen made me feel right at home. She was very welcoming and polite. The room was comfortable, artistically colorful, and clean. I was in town for just one night; it was just what I was looking for which was a good relaxed night sleep and close to Williams College.

    Douglas2016-06-19T00:00:00Z
  • Karen's house was very nice. The private bedroom and bathroom was exactly what I hoped for. Karen was very kind and provided a welcoming home.

    Robert2014-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • This is a nice room and very near to Williams College, which we were visiting.

    Irina2015-03-27T00:00:00Z
  • Karen was a fantastic host! My roommate Marc and I decided to take a last-minute weekend trip to North Adams to check out Mass MoCA, and Karen was extremely welcoming for our day-of request, and was very responsive in communication. She was there for our arrival, and kindly explained all we would need to know for our brief stay. The bed was comfortable, and she left lovely books, treats, and fruits in the room if we needed snacks, and additional toiletries in the bathroom if we forgot anything. Highly recommended!

    Cecilia2015-04-27T00:00:00Z
  • Karen was a most wonderful host in her cozy home! I had just had an exhausting day and was facing another busy day, so I felt the need for lots of rest. We had a couple of very pleasant chats (Karen is an artist, and she was kind enough to show me some of her fantastic work), and then I sank down into a most comfortable bed, amidst a very comfortable and relaxing room. Karen had a little refrigerator in the room, so I was able to keep my beverage and leftovers from dinner cold! Karen's place is a quick and easy drive to greater metropolitan Williamstown, where there's lots of people to watch, and places to eat and be entertained (I'm from a small town in Vermont, so I'm easily pleased). Next time I'm in Williamstown, I'll be sure to get in touch with Karen again!

    Gail2014-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • I really enjoyed meeting Karen and staying at her place. It was as advertised: comfy futon - slept great! shared bath - no prob, felt private fab location - 5 min from Williams College great company - got a new reading list :) Life is good - I'll be back Thanks Karen!

    B2015-04-15T00:00:00Z
  • It's a great choice for anyone in the area visiting schools and tons of great hikes around.

    Gregory2017-11-19T00:00:00Z
  • Many thanks for the flexible handling of our short term request. It was very cosy and calm. Karen was so nice and helped us with all questions. Williamstown is even a town worth to stop and have a break.

This cozy 1840's New England farmhouse is in a friendly neighborhood within walking distance to Williams College, downtown and the Clark Art. The downstairs room has its own entrance, bath and laundry, and a small porch on the back. The kitchen and living room are available for use, as are the gardens which surround the house.
  • It's cute, cozy, and the perfect place stay for a weekend Williamstown!

  • Robin's place is lovely & convenient to downtown. About a 15-minute walk to Spring Street. Easy communication. She was there to greet me & show me around. Would definitely stay there again.

    Bill2018-04-22T00:00:00Z
  • Bill and Robin are a charming couple who offer a warm welcome. They have a spacious room with bathroom with a relaxed attitude to accessing their kitchen for drinks and snacks. the location is good with loads of parking and a very easy walk into town.

  • Great space, wonderful location. Had such a relaxing and uplifting weekend.

    Marissa2018-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Robin was a gracious host. She prepared my room early because I went there straight after my nightshift. I just needed a place to sleep and the room had a great calming atmosphere. I felt very welcomed. This place is ideal especially if you're looking for a nice sleep!

    Aaron2017-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • I spent one night at Robin's. The room was very cozy and comfortable and clean. It is situated close to everything in Williamstown. Robin was very helpful in directing me to places to eat etc.

    Ruchika2017-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • Such a pleasant and cozy room in a great house tucked away in a peaceful, residential street, but still conveniently close to the theater campus and the Spring St. shops. Robin was very hospitable as she warmly greeted us for our arrival. We visit Williamstown often for the summer theater festival, so would love to retreat again to her tastefully furnished house.

This loft apartment is located in the historic Cable Mills in Williamstown, MA. It is an entire 2 bedroom, 2 bath apartment with modern appliances and features. There is a private entrance and it includes everything you will need. The property is located minutes from Williams College, downtown Williamstown, the Taconic Golf Club, and Green River. It is also a quick drive to Mass MOCA, Tanglewood, Jiminy Peak and other western MA and southern VT ski resorts. A two night minimum stay is required.
  • This is a great loft-style place in Williamstown near everything. We had a frustrating check-in experience - waited for 2 hours until a nice tenant of the building helped us - but loved the apartment.

    MIchael2018-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • Don't be thrown off by the lack of reviews. We were a bit worried at first but learned that the loft has only recently been built. The loft is run by the property manager and she was extremely responsive. The complex is beautiful and within walking distance of Spring Street. The loft itself is clean and comfortable. We highly recommend this loft!

    Jose2016-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • Very cool. Very clean. The only place I'd want to stay in Williamstown.

    Lucas2016-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • Cable Mills was a wonderful home away from home for a long weekend. The location is very convenient: right off of route 2, it makes for a quick trip to MASS MOCA, the Clark, nearby restaurants/coffee shops, the Williams campus, and ample running/hiking routes. Hot Tomatoes pizza a couple doors down was a nice bonus, too. It's a great value for the size, with comfortable modern furnishings and plenty of space and amenities (refrigerator, range, microwave, coffee maker, even in-unit washer & dryer). Cable Mills' outside setting is also beautiful, with the Green River flowing just outside your door. If you're looking for some space and the comfort and amenities of home on your trip to the Berkshires, I'd highly recommend this. We will definitely be back.

    Brian2017-06-26T00:00:00Z
  • Large and comfortable space in a great location. As mentioned in a previous review, while the host may be responsive at first, as soon as a problem came up they were unresponsive. Asked for the WiFi password and received an immediate response from the host but as soon as I said that the password would not work, no response (and still no response two days later—but the WiFi did connect later the first night). Additionally, the shower water was warm, but never hot. And just as a warning, the bedroom windows do face the street and it can be noisy at times due to passing cars and trucks. Other than these issues, it is a nice place to stay when visiting Williamstown and surrounding areas.

    Elizabeth2018-01-14T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic location, beautiful unit with the essentials provided. Very friendly community and clean.

    Alexa2017-05-07T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful spacious loft style apartment. Had everything we needed for a 2 night stay to explore Williamstown area museums. Very clean and convenient to all. The river walk a nice plus!

    Kim2017-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at this modern loft, made even more special by the first snow of the season! The place is more spacious than the photographs suggest, with sky-high ceilings, big windows, and two cozy bedrooms up a half-flight of stairs. Check-in is super easy -- the key is kept in a little lockbox by the front door, so we were able to arrive and depart at our convenience. We were so pleased to find a washer/dryer (although there was not, during our stay, detergent provided). The location can't be beat: less than five minutes to Hot Tomatoes and Hops & Vines, and slightly longer walk to the 'center' of Williamstown on Spring Street. We highly recommend this place!

  • Amy’s place was fantastic! If we ever end up in Williamstown again we will be sure to stay here. Such great hospitality!

    Marc2017-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • Even though we didn't get to meet Amy as she was away, she did everything she could to make us feel at home and checked on us several times to make sure we had everything we needed. We did get to meet her husband who was absolutely lovely. The place was really cute, perfect for a little getaway. It is pretty small so perfect for 2, or a couple with a child, but there are a lot of tools on the back patio so it may not be the safest place for small kids. We really enjoyed the access to the river at the back, so beautiful and relaxing. Williamstown is a really cute university town, and we enjoyed the proximity with Vermont, just a 15min drive away. Our favorite discovery was the Harriman Reservoir, perfect place for a nice swim, off Boyd Hill Road. We completely fell in love with the region and can't wait to go back!

    Benedicte2016-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • We spent two nights and three days in the quiet and comfort of Amy's cozy guest house. Amy answered inquiries promptly before we arrived and welcomed us personally to her Airbnb. Being separate from the main house, the place felt private and looked out onto a stream. A great base for exploring the northern Berkshires and going to the Clark and Mass MoCA. We had originally planned to stay at the Porches in North Adams and Hotel on North in Pittsfield, but are so pleased we ended up staying in the country and not in town.

    Ellen2017-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Great location for hiking and visiting the museums of Western MA. We had a wonderful stay, the accommodation was thoughtful and cosy. Lovely hosts.

    Jillian2017-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • If this place is available, TAKE IT. It's an easy walk into town and wow, what a gorgeous location and sweet space. I stayed there for Williams graduation and we had a couple of nice picnics by the river. Amy is lovely and you really will be lucky to get this place.

    Ann2018-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • Amy's place is an absolute gem by the banks of the Green River. Spotlessly clean and decorated with an artist's eye, the space is cozy and inviting — perfect for a couple. The glorious back yard opens directly onto the river, with a funky patio, lush gardens, and a BBQ. There are thoughtful details everywhere that make the space feel like home. Thanks for a lovely stay.

Roaring river or babbling brook sounds float into every room of this sweet riparian cottage. This private neighborhood location is within walking distance to theater, museums, shopping, and restaurants — just a stone's throw to Williams College, The Clark Art, the Williamstown Theatre Festival and a short drive to MASS MoCA, or Mount Greylock hiking. The cottage is always clean, cozy, and welcoming — you'll feel like you're visiting a friend.
This house is super comfortable, with everything you'll need exactly where you'd expect to find it. With two queen queen bedrooms and a generous single futon on the river porch, it's ideal for a single traveler, small family, a couples' retreat or up to 5 guests.
McCauley Lane is a dead end street situated on the banks of Hemlock Brook. The brook tumbles through my back yard. The houses on the lane are quite close, but extremely private. The neighborhood is "down past the Williams Inn" — about 4 blocks to the theatre festival, and about six blocks to campus / Williamstown center. Obviously I'm biased, but I'm also quite certain, that this is the best neighborhood in the whole entire town.
  • We loved the place immensely. The house is even better than the pictures promised-very comfortable, cosy and spotless clean. Loved the simplicity of it. Pehaps had one of the best sleep in my life -the matress was very confortable and the sound of a brook outside was mesmerizing. Jodi provided very helpfull notes about the area which is rich with art and architecture, as well as nature trails. On Saturday check a farmer market and a local woodcarpenter Steven's works. we definetely plan to be back. And a lot of staff just a walking distance form the place. Thank you Jody!

    Lauren2018-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • Loved Jodi's house! It is so airy and bright and sweet and cheerful, and the porch room next to the brook is so peaceful. Jodi helpfully left out all kinds of brochures and information about goings-on about town and a map. The house is very conveniently located near the Clark museum, and everything is such a short drive (10 minutes to Mass MoCa in North Adams). Jodi is super sweet and helpful and made sure everything was all set for us. Great towels and comfortable bed. Definitely would love to come back!

The house is lovely, lots of charm and coziness. Jodi was easy to get in touch with. Check in/check out was a breeze. Had a great, relaxing long weekend. Highly recommend.

Spacious 900 sq ft apartment located less than a mile from Williams College. Full kitchen with breakfast bar, large and bright living room, and master bedroom with attached study area. The apartment has hardwood floors, crown moldings, and tons of natural light. The kitchen and living room look out onto the Hoosic River in the backyard. • Unfortunately we had a bad experience at this place. We showed up at 4:30pm and the bed was unmade, dirty towels on the floor and we contacted Sarah. She said that the house cleaner was supposed to come but hadn’t and that she would contact the house cleaner but we were kind of left hanging not sure if the housekeeper was going to come by and prepare the house or not so we ended up booking a hotel around 8:30pm. This all would have worked out okay if the communication had been a bit better as we never heard back from Sarah after that one response although she did offer to refund our payment which we appreciated but we did the refund through Airbnb.

    Lindsay2018-06-18T00:00:00Z

  • Sarah's place was accessible, spacious and super clean. We needed a place to crash for the night after a party in North Adams, and it was perfect! Sarah was quick with the thorough details and having booked only a week in advance, we felt totally prepared and comfortable for our stay. Thanks Sarah!

    Sophaloaf2018-03-24T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah’s place is very bright and has plenty of comfortable living space! She’s a very communicative and kind host. The house is kind of easy to miss in the dark if you’re silly like us and forget to turn on the porch light. There’s not much cell service in the area, and unfortunately the internet connection wasn’t strong enough for any of us to connect to it. Otherwise a very pleasant and comfortable stay!

  • This is a lovely apartment with a large Queens bedroom and comfortable, easy to use, pull out couch. It's beautifully situated by the river and easy to get into downtown Williamstown or to Jiminy Peak if you're looking to ski.

  • the location is on the way to Williams, less than 5 minutes, very convenient and easy to be found. the bad news is : it's noisy. Furthermore, there is no mobile phone signal, feels like being isolated from the world. What's more, the WIFI is terrible, we have 3 different types of cellphone, no one can be connected to the WIFI. The house is cozy , clean and tidy. the queen size bed is comfortable, the quilt sheet and cover is beautiful. Sarah is considerate to inform me all the facilities and utensils in advance, so that when I check-in, it's fast and easy. The defect of the place was quite obvious as it's merit:there are too many insects crawling all the house, from wall to the ground, sometimes they are even in line. terrible! the cleaning fee is as high as the rent, not reasonable. the location is on the way to Williams, less than 5 minutes, very convenient and easy to be found. the bad news is : it's noisy. No kitchen. No stove (but there is an outdoor fire pit). You take chances with the weather. We've had guests love a cozy rainy weekend and even book an extra day during 30 degree temperatures. No groups over 5 people. I've recently changed the no kids under 12 rule to allow kids - but please write me to discuss if this is a good fit for your kids. If it feels like a good fit I am willing to bend these rules once in a while. Still interested? Read on. . . You have use of a private, full bathroom, with shower, located in our studio building a two minute walk from the Pondhouse. There is also an Airbnb guest room in the studio that may be rented as well. It works great to book both the Pondhouse and this guest room - you can leave your stuff in the studio and keep the Pondhouse tranquil and serene! Happy to give discounts to rent both. Just ask. There is a fire pit a few steps from your door. It’s stocked with paper and chopped wood (or chop your own), so you can make a fire to roast marshmallows, cook a whole meal, or just hang out and enjoy the feeling of camping. Other amenities, including recycled paper plates and utensils, small fridge, electric teapot, coffee press, coffee and teas are provided for you in the studio. Dogs are welcome, but MUST get along with other dogs. We love dogs and our dog Charlie is a fantastic host, will provide lots of love and affection, and is always happy to go for a walk with you. It you bring a dog, you may not leave it in the Pondhouse while you are gone. CAUTION: *No Wi-Fi or cell service in the pond house - come to unplug! (There is wifi and a land line you can use at the studio for emergencies) *No nearby transit, and we are in the boonies, so you’ll need a car *Planning this as a surprise? I strongly suggest that you KNOW that your partner will love this. I've seen a few surprises not work very well. Glamping is not for everyone! *We are on 50 acres and sound carries. This means no loud music or parties. *Please be respectful of the peace, quiet and serenity of our property *MUST arrive before dark * DOGS! While we do have a pet friendly policy, prior approval and acceptance of our rules and policies is required before a pet may stay with you in The Pondhouse There is also a $25.00 additional pet cleaning charge. New in 2018 is a 1 dog limit and no big dogs who will crash through our gardens. We've had plenty of guests with lovely dogs, explain your dog to me and we can decide if it's a good fit. My husband, Peter Kitchell, and I are artists and have lived here for almost 30 years. Peter has carefully cultivated and nurtured the land, which includes building the Pondhouse with Hemlock trees from our woods. We have three buildings (our home and studios) a two minute walk from the Pondhouse. We are good at respecting our guest’s privacy but are also happy to chat and answer any questions. I've made a great list of places to eat (including dog friendly & vegan!) ** Having a special anniversary? Give us a budget and we can decorate with extra special things like flowers, treats, or whatever you'd like! This is truly an amazing place. ***PLEASE READ ENTIRE LISTING DESCRIPTION AND RULES BEFORE REQUESTING A RESERVATION.*** We want to make sure that your stay meets your expectations... • Words can't express the beauty of staying in the Pond House . Fall foliage surrounded us, the barred owl called to us in the evening and the red fox greeted us in the morning. We whole heatedly recommend staying here.

  • This truly is a magical place! The host description and other reviews are spot-on. Read through everything before committing and you won't be disappointed. Every detail was in place, and we left relaxed, rejuvenated and refreshed. A reminder that although transformative, the pondhouse is still au natural. There are bugs (I gently encouraged a caterpillar and grasshopper back outside the house) and animals (not just Charlie the host dog) and exposure to the elements. If you embrace such things, you will also have as glorious of a stay as we did. We are scouring our calendars this very minute to plan a trip in the fall; we can't wait to return! Thank you to Gayle and Charlie for their hospitality.

  • My boyfriend and I had a wonderful time enjoying the peacefulness of the pond house and exploring the nearby area. Wish we could have stayed longer!

    Elizabeth2015-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • What a great experience for our first time using airbnb! Gayle was very responsive via e-mail - within minutes. We booked just the day before so we felt very lucky to get to visit this wonderful property. Her husband and son were very kind and helpful when we arrived. What an amazing place to stay. The pond house was magical in every way possible. The property is beautiful and very very peaceful. Wished we could have stayed longer! Thanks Gayle and Peter.

    Kelley2013-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful little cabin - very peaceful and tranquil overlooking the woods and the pond. Gayle was a wonderful host and this is the perfect place to get away from it all and unwind. I hope to be back soon!

    Hannah2014-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • We loved the rustic charm of the Pondhouse, feeling the breeze throughout the night, hearing the sounds of crickets, frogs, and owls as we feel asleep, and waking up to the sunrise over the pond. We cooked dinner over the fire one night and also enjoyed the many of the local restaurants that Gayle suggested, all of which were wonderful experiences. Charlie greeted us upon our arrival and kept us company throughout the stay, which we thoroughly enjoyed.

    Kirsten2017-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Gayle and Peter and Charlie and Jack (dogs) were amazing host. Their Pond house was something out of fabled story. Very relaxing and a nice getaway from my girlfriend and I regular pace of living. Gayle was very accommodating in letting us know all what all was around in the area from great food to water activities. I would recommend this stay to anyone who wants a break from their lives, time to disconnect. Will definitely have a future stay here.

    Michael2016-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • Gayle and Peter were phenomenal hosts and staying in the Pondhouse is an experience unlike any other - highly recommended! The Pondhouse is an incredibly unique, neat space (which Peter built!) and just down a short hill from the house so you have sufficient privacy while not having to go too far for the bathroom. We were plenty warm enough, too. One of my friends was worried about being too cold (it was in the low 30s when we were there), but in the morning she said she was so hot she sweated during the night. The views around their property are also nice; it was just an all around wonderful visit. We'll be back!

Our town is the home of prestigious Williams College and the Williamstown Theatre Festival as well as the Clark Art Institute. We have many cultural events and there are many more within a 1 hour drive. There is a lot of skiing both downhill & Cross Country. There are 3 rooms 1 queen sizebed room for $100.00 the other 2 rooms are $50.00 each. Every one needs to be together as there is only 1 Bathroom upstairs. There is a bathroom directly below on the first floor that can be used if needed
The bed in the guest room is a queen bed there are 2 other rooms one has a double bed and a third room with a 3/4 bed. It is $50.00 a night for each of the other 2 rooms after first $100.00 for Queen bedroom. Everyone has to be traveling together as there is only 1 bathroom. There is a bathroom downstairs directly below it that can be used. I grew up in Indiana but I have lived in this town for more than 50 years and I have a lot of knowledge about it. I was a theatre and dance costume designer and I lived and worked in NYC. I have lots of gardens as I am very found of them and I like to garden. I have a large yard but I am very near the center of town. I was also a flower arranger for about 20 years, I still do a little of both costume designing/making and flower arranging.
My near neighbors are terrific and my house is a bit hidden but very close to town, 2 minutes away by car.

  • Wonderful place. Even more wonderful host. Molly is amazing... Kind, generous and very helpful. Her place is very comfortable for a nice relaxing stay. Her guidebook recommendations are top-notch.. Thanks to her we had some delicious breakfast and picked up some fun stuff from a souvenir shop close to the house. She is also very responsive to the guest's messages and needs. I highly recommend her place if you are planning a getaway in western mass.

    Julie2017-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing location. Easy to walk everywhere. The river was louder than I anticipated, which was a pleasant surprise. Molly was great to work with and easy to get on the phone.

    Ryan2017-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • It's a one-floor apartment with nice view of the river. Overall it's a good choice in this area.

    James2017-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • When we arrived Molly waited for us, gave us worm welcome and showd us around. The apartment is very cozy and it is exactly as described. Molly left for us beer to taste from North Adams brewery, the town next door. We definitely come back. Summer, possibly, will be better choice.

This charming studio apartment features high ceilings with inset lighting, large windows, a separate kitchenette, and is simply furnished with a queen sized bed and rustic Arts & Crafts furniture. Located in a private outbuilding, the studio is close to gorgeous hiking trails, tranquil walks along the Green River, excellent biking, as well as Williams College, the Clark Art Institute, and many other attractions in the Berkshires. It's a perfect base for adventure or culture buffs!
The property used to belong to the historic Mount Hope Estate and this particular outbuilding was used by the resident biologist as a laboratory.
We are on a scenic road about 2 miles to town and the Williams College campus, close to great hiking and biking as well as all the wonderful museums in the area.
  • We had such a great time during our stay at Mary's place. Mary was a helpful, gracious host and the guest house itself is a great base for a weekend or longer stay in the Berkshires. The location near Greylock, Williams, Mass MOCA, etc. was perfect for our purposes and we wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

    Sandy2017-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautiful, private guest house on a beautiful property. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We were made to feel very welcome, and given lots of info about places to eat and things to do in the area. Highly recommend! It’s a very special place.

    Jane2018-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • We cannot supply a review because we didn't end up staying, but Mary herself seems just lovely and I'm sure would be a great resource for anyone staying in the area.

    Ruth2018-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • We spent less than 24 hours at Mary's, as we had made a quick trip to the Williamstown Theatre Festival and spent our time at two back-to-back productions. But, with a quick text about our estimated arrival time, we found specific directions to the house, the key in the door and everything set up so that we really had no questions. The room is very comfortable, quiet and private. The location has a rural feel, but is just minutes from campus. Mary's is a tranquil alternative to staying at a hotel--and a good value!

    Susan2018-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • Mary is a flexible and accommodating host, I highly recommend her.

    Mark2018-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • A quiet space with everything you need within reach— kitchenette, bathroom & sitting area. With the windows open you can hear the river running across the street.

    Julia2018-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • The host canceled this reservation 5 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.

    Hannah2017-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • Loved it! Fantastic location for a visit to Williams College. Completely separate, very comfortable and wonderfully quiet for great sleep. Modern amenities and all the comforts of home, including a gas fireplace to take the chill off if needed. Mary’s tips on a local nature hike and where to eat were helpful and much appreciated. Great host and great lodgings. Would definitely stay here again.

  • Very beautiful location tranquil relaxing Loved the alpacas Unit was spacious Dell and Susan were welcoming hosts

    Mark2018-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • Dell and Susan are helpful, friendly hosts. They anticipated every possible need from sleep sounds and aroma mist to little fridge with tea, coffee, juice, and cookies. The space is a very charming, private and spacious suite on the second floor. It is sparkling clean and there are views from every window. It is only a few minutes from town, where there are many shops and restaurants. We hope to return soon!

    Eve2018-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • This was my best experience in Williams town. The property has wonderful views of the mountains and it is 5 minutes drive from the collage. The bed is comfortable and Susan and Dell have thought about anything you may need. Fridge, coffee, tea, outdoor shower, aromatic defuser with wide range of oils ( which I highly recommend to try ) Super lovely people!

    Maria2018-06-10T00:00:00Z
  • This is an absolutely wonderful home base for exploring the northern Berkshires. I loved the easy access to museums, hiking and biking, and really good food. The suite itself was so comfortable—felt separate from the main living space, was super clean and full of thoughtful touches, and had awesome sky lights as well as a great bed, AC, etc. I would come back for sure. Thank you, Susan and Dell!

    Hannah2018-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • Dell & Susan's place was the perfect place from which to embark on our white water rafting adventures. The guest space is very well appointed, even down to the makeup wipes which were the one thing I forgot to pack! The property is beautiful, and perfect for stargazing. It was great fun to see the alpacas, but my favorite was definitely the outdoor shower--just wonderful! Extra thanks to Dell for suggesting we visit the top of Mount Greylock; we saw a beautiful sunset from the highest point in MA.

    Adriana2018-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • My girlfriend and I stayed here Friday night to Monday morning in mid July. We met Dell when we arrived, he is very kind and warm. He showed us the space we stayed in, which had more than enough room. The property is absolutely beautiful. Our bedroom, bathroom, and sitting room were very clean. Dell was kind enough to have refreshments in a mini fridge for us. At the end of traveling each day I looked forward to coming back to the comfortable bed. Dell also introduced us to his alpacas and told us all about them. He is very open, easy going, and a great guy! He recommended places to eat and visit in the area and took the time to chat with us one morning. His dogs are friendly and never even barked when we came in. Overall 10/10, we will definitely be back!

    Erik2018-07-16T00:00:00Z

Grafton Stone House can host 6+ people who don't mind a large, friendly, open floor plan and the country setting. The home is cozy, w/ many amenities including heated floors, outdoor areas, fireplace, well-stocked games, a skim worthy selection of books, and a fully stocked gourmet kitchen. Close to several ski slopes & great local towns. I have another listing added next door here: https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/21797091
The stone house is a historic mountain chapel lovingly rehabbed into a home. The post and beam ceiling, stained glass lighting, and many other unique attributes make it a really special experience for guests. I can easily sleep 4-10 people who are close friends. The king bed on the main floor has lush curtains around it to create additional privacy and coziness.
The parks, nature, Peace P(website hidden), and accessible location to many places in the Berkshires as well as Troy and Albany make it a great place. Several ski slopes are close by, outlet shopping , great restaurants and museums.
  • Had to cancel my trip, but Michelle was a superb communicator and I look forward to staying at the Stone House one day.

    Jennifer2016-05-10T00:00:00Z
  • Had an amazing relaxing time here. The house is beautiful , clean and very cozy . Had a fun time exploring VT and NY while visiting here . Thank you will try to come in the summer as well !

    Shawn2018-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic Stone/cozy home, with a beautiful loft-feeling vibe is the best way to describe this place. Michelle's stone home is such a great set-up and offered everything you need to getaway from the hustle and bustle, while providing a strategic jumping off point for accessing upstate NY, Vermont, Berkshires (all of which we did). I hope we have the opportunity to stay with her in the near future as we love this home. Michelle was also extremely responsive to any questions we had. Thanks so much for a lovely stay

    Chris2015-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • I was looking for a quiet place to hole up and work on some writing projects, and the Grafton Stone House was exactly what I needed. My boyfriend and I live just over an hour away, but it was the perfect getaway without going far. The space is gorgeous and inspiring, with charming, quirky details that give the house personality. With Michelle's advice, we brought some firewood so we could cozy up by the woodstove, and Michelle has a bookcase stocked a with a number of my favorite books. If I wasn't there for the purpose of writing, I could have happily spent the time reading by the stove. The kitchen had all of the pans and utensils we needed to cook there, which relieved the stress of having to go out and find something, although the house is in a relatively central location for people who want to go out for dinner. For those who aren't local, it's worth driving out 25 minutes to visit Troy, particularly if you're looking for dinner or drinks, or to shop around small businesses. The Saturday farmers market is amazing if you're there over the weekend! The Grafton Stone House was a wonderful place to stay, and I can see it being good for many purposes - from quiet, artistic stays to a weekend getaway with the girls :). Michelle is a wonderful, communicative and welcoming host who has put her soul into the Stone House. This was my first Airbnb experience and it's certainly set the bar high!

    Olivia2017-12-02T00:00:00Z
  • The Stone House was just what we needed for a weekend getaway! It is beautiful inside, has everything you could possibly need. And Michelle was just a text away. So close to Vermont & Mass that we were able to do so many things: Bennington for antique shopping, Manchester for the outlets, The Clark Museum in Mass, and so much more. And best was coming home to the Stone House! Can't wait to come back!

    Simone2017-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • Michelle's Stone House is incredible. From the moment we started planning our trip, Michelle was responsive and easy to communicate with. She left a light on for us as we arrived late at night, and the house was warm and stocked with anything we could possibly need! The photos are not exaggerated or taken "the best possible day," the house is really just that idyllic. The location is a little remote. Fortunately, we brought everything we needed, so I can't say if grocery or supply shopping would be simple. We were just a short drive from Petersburg Pass, where we went for a nice hike. We also explored the area and then made our way up to Saratoga for a day trip. Wonderful weekend getaway - would definitely book again!

    Meagan2016-03-30T00:00:00Z
  • This house is absolutely beautiful! The open layout and huge windows, along with the decorations made it feel like a Disney princess' home! We really appreciated all of the amenities- coffee, sugar, tons of snacks, and some food in the fridge. It was spotless and very cozy and we especially loved the heated floors! This stay was a great value- in fact it felt like a steal!

    Michael2017-06-09T00:00:00Z
  • Nice little place. It's far enough outside of town , you need to drive, but the neighborhood is nice and quiet. The hosts were very responsive and thoughtful. The kitchen is well stocked and the house is very clean. Stayed with another couple and was well sized for four people.

    Christopher2017-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • Peter's place was cozy and clean and super comfortable. It was in a very peaceful and quiet neighborhood that was close to amenities and (lots of ) hiking trails. The house was the perfect size and the rooms and kitchen were spacious. We enjoyed sitting in the backyard and listening to birds and wildlife in the evening. Peter and Marianne provided everything we could need to have a relaxing weekend, as well as helpful tips for exploring local musueums, restaurants and trails. We felt very at home there and hope to visit again!

    Emily2018-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Peter's house was excellent. The hosts gave us a warm personal welcome. The house is exceptionally clean and has all necessary amenities. The location is on a nice quiet street with cultural destinations of Berkshires within an easy reach. We had a great time! It was very nice to start our day with breakfast provided by hosts - nice bread, jam and fruits. Hosts also had a variety of very good teas available to us. I will recommend this house to others.

    Serafima2017-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • Mary Anne met us on arrival and provided useful orientation to the house's considerate resources. An ideal autonomous space, in our case, for two independent friends (both in our mid to late sixties) to have a short stay near both Mass Moca and Clarke Inst, with our own bedrooms and all the comforts of home and in short riving distance to both. It was a soft landing at the end of a couple of long and satisfying days. Great to have our own kitchen so we could self cater as well as have the occasional meal out. Spotless and unpretentious. Hosts are available if you need them but respectful of privacy. I recommend this Airbnb listing.

  • Katherine's place was perfect! The area was so picturesque that it almost seemed fake. Plenty of open space to wander with gorgeous views on all sides. The apartment was clean, open, spacious, and beautifully decorated. The beds were so comfortable and all the windows provided great lighting and unmatched views. Katie was so helpful and responsive and we felt very welcome and at home. I wish we could have stayed longer (or just live there forever!).

    Carolyn2018-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • Our two night stay was better than expected. The loft was very clean and quiet and had a terrific view. The bed was comfy.

    Cin2017-11-19T00:00:00Z
  • This was a fabulous place to stay. Very clean, neat, comfortable and close to where we wanted to go. Katherine was a lovely host and made us feel right at home and then just let us have our space. We went on a night hike on the property which was so beautiful. We just thoroughly enjoyed our stay there and would stay again in a heartbeat!

    Margot2017-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • The scenic and private space was peaceful and very comfortable. Katie was a fantastic host.

    Lisa2018-06-07T00:00:00Z
  • Had a lovely walk around property in addition to the private and perfect space.

    Ann2017-04-22T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a gem. It is a bit of a challenge to find it the first time, as it is off the main road. But once you do, it is so worthwhile. Apart from what one expects - clean, comfortable, etc, its a very spacious and stylish loft It also comes with a pastoral setting and beautiful view. What a lovely experience to wake up in the morning light, have coffee on the deck and see only meadow, forest and Berkshire ridge. Katherine is a very considerate host, very helpful about where to visit and what's going on. So if you really want to get away, yet be close enough to the landmarks and all the cultural offerings while having an authentic Berkshire experience, this is the one place I gladly recommend.

    Harry2018-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed here when my daugher was touring Williams College, and it was a great experience and a lovely home! Katherine was super helpful with restaurant ideas in town.

    Victoria2017-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • Katie’s place is a secluded delight. In Michelin’s words, “worth the detour. Not to be missed.” When in Williamstown, we’ll be back.

We’re high up on the hill yet close to art and culture, great views, restaurants and dining, family-friendly activities, skiing, Bennington, Manchester VT close by. Williamstown Mass not far. A huge yard. You’ll love my place because of the coziness, the light, the comfy bed, the well equipped kitchen, privacy and views, the extreme quiet and relaxation. Gorgeous waterfalls and stream, hiking. Fire pit! My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and furry friends (pets). 420 friendly!
One room cottage with full kitchen and bath. Beautiful views, acres to explore including a stunning mountain stream with waterfalls. Privacy with 2 4x8' Windows make you feel one with nature. The curtains are sheer and allow morning light in. Big lawn with fire pit and plenty of woods to wander through. There’s a sofa bed for 1 too. See more pics on our IG Page - VermontLoveNest
High up on a steep hill the privacy and views are wonderful. Very little traffic goes by. Please if you're traveling in winter- this is Vermont! We often get lots of snow. The roads here are well maintained but we're up on a steep hill. Please consider booking in snow months only if you have 2 snow tires and/or all wheel drive. While they do plow often, I cannot guarantee you can get up the hill in a regular low, city type vehicle. I will not let anyone be stranded on our road, so in the worst storms I can help make arrangements. I drove Saabs with snow tires for years, but now I drive a Honda CRV with all season tires. I never have any problems personally. Thanks!
  • Quiet and scenic, MaryJane is kind, thoughtful and quick to respond with anything you might need. Her dog Huxley is a fantastic playmate for anyone with dogs.

  • Such a cute cabin in a beautiful setting! Would definitely recommend to any traveler! Very nice bathroom, kitchen is stocked and the setting was peaceful and quiet.

    Katie2016-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved staying here. The cabin is perfect. She provided the perfect lodgings. Extra blankets and towels. Only down side was the carpenter ants , however they were very few and it's Vermont ! Definitely need to bring oil and seasoning if you plan on cooking, but she had everything you could need. It was perfect

  • Very nice and cosy place. Perfect location if you like to go for hikes. Well equipped kitchen and there is a BBQ as well.

    Mijke2017-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is adorable!! It was so cozy and perfectly accommodating for 2. We enjoyed our 3 nights there for its location and for fun, hilly, woodsy skiing right out the door for the daytime and warm comfort with a great hot shower and well-equipped kitchen for our sweet evenings. Good selection of movies too...we really enjoyed “Ray”!

    Robert2018-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • Great relaxing trip with my family. Thank you MaryJane, for your hospitality.

    Jessica2018-04-20T00:00:00Z
  • This was a really fun stay. The cabin is small and cozy but far from cramped. Huge, well-placed windows, a very comfy bed and a well-stocked kitchen make this an excellent place to spend some time alone or with your significant other.

    Darrell2016-09-26T00:00:00Z

Our 1770's farmhouse is in beautiful bucolic South Williamstown. Enjoy the walking, skiing, nature, culture and sophistication that this area has to offer, while staying in a comfortable country setting.
Our house is set on seventeen acres, on one of the most beautiful country roads in the Berkshires. The suite available is the downstairs of one side of the house, so it is very quiet and private. It includes a large living room with a working fireplace, a bedroom with a queen bed and its own full bathroom, and a side porch, all for your private use. We provide you with a coffee machine, coffee, and a jug of milk in the mini-fridge. You are welcome to make use of our property, as well as the seating area in the garden. We do have a dog--a very friendly golden retriever who doesn’t go in that side of the house. Since we have light-colored carpets, we do ask that guests not wear outdoor shoes in the suite. There are wonderful walks right from the house, including the 316-acre Trustees of Reservation property Field Farm, and beautiful Sloan and Oblong Roads. We are also less than a mile from Waubeeka Golf course, and just up the road is Cricket Creek Farm and Farm Store. The store is small, but they have great local products. You can also see the calves and piglets, and if you're there at the right time, watch the cows being milked. We are four and half miles south of Williamstown, home of Williams College, the Williamstown Theater Festival, the Clark Art Museum and the Williams College Museum of Art. MassMOCA is nine miles away, and it is only 15 minutes to Jiminy Peak Ski Resort.
  • Amy and Chris' home is so beautiful and cozy. The fireplace and books are inviting, the furniture tasteful, the bed soft and comfortable. They have a great book collection. I really liked everything they recommended in the way of walks and restaurants. One of the best meals I've ever had was at Mezze, and I've been out quite a lot in NYC and LA. It is such a beautiful setting, even in the colder months, when we went. I recommend the walks up the street around the pond and beyond.

    Mehammed2013-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • What a delightful place with first class facilities! Amy went the extra mile to provide for our tea-drinking habit by supplying a kettle and cups - much appreciated. The space is amazing - made us feel at home and more than comfortable, with plenty of room to spread out and pick a favourite seat. The little Dove ice creams were the ideal finish to our evening meal out - a bonus! Loved the special touches like the fresh flowers. Pity we only stayed one night.

    Rosemary2015-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful converted farmhouse. With all the conveniences. Amy was very hospitable. We really enjoyed our stay. The fall colors were beautiful.

    Joe2014-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • A great place with privacy and plenty of room, plus a very comfortable bed. Coffee, wine glasses and wood for the working fireplace are all included. Seems there was a lot to explore around the house, but the snow kept us inside. I would highly recommend to anyone traveling near Williamstown/North Adams.

    Gregory2015-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Spacious, beautiful, comfortable in a gorgeous setting. Amy welcomed us warmly and has clearly thought about the details of how to make her guests feel cared for. Looking out the bedroom window at the garden, sitting on the private porch, or flopping down on the soft couch in the living room - it's all a wonderful get away. The area itself is gorgeous and worth exploring both in the town and on the back roads.

    Ryan2016-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • Amy & Chris's place is beautiful and welcoming. Their attention to detail makes this a fabulous place to stay. It is in a breathtaking setting with a back porch and trails that give splendid mountain views. Although we did not see them during our stay, they had everything ready for us upon arrival and kept in touch during our stay.

    Jade2015-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Extremely private and beautiful.

    Roberto2016-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed staying with Amy and Chris, they are very friendly and we felt welcome in their beautiful house where we had a private home for ourselves, with a nice porch to sit on looking out into the garden. Amy gave us good suggestions for nice walks in the beautiful landscape close to the house. A very good place to be!!!!

  • What a great house. We could live here as it has everything one needs and is in the perfect location. Best Airbnb place we have ever stayed in. The house has every amenity. Vince was very helpful and did a great job furnishing the place. We hope to return and have nothing but praise for this listing.

    Geoffrey2016-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic time during Christmas at Vince's house. It was spacious, clean and close to the college. He even went out and got us a Christmas tree for the living room!! He was very easy to get in touch with and we had no problems checking in and out. We highly recommend this spacious house for a fun trip to the Berkshires.

    Abigail2017-12-10T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay here visiting our son at Williams College. This was the second time staying here for my wife and 3 kids and it was as fabulous as it was the first time we were here. The house is spacious and clean and sits on a large piece of property. The hot tub was particularly nice given the chilly weather. It snowed about 6 inches over night while we were here and the long driveway was already plowed early in the morning. This is a fantastic house and we will absolutely plan to stay here again when we're in town.

    Ebbing2018-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • The house and property were exactly as described. All the amenities and features are in great condition and took care of us nicely! The house is very welcoming and luxurious. Vince was responsive and helpful at every turn and made sure our stay was perfect. Would definitely rent again!

    Kenton2018-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • My family and I spent a wonderful Thanksgiving at Vince's place in Williamstown. The house was like a home away from home and Vince went the extra mile to make sure we had all the comforts of home. The hot tub and theater room were a very special touch, and we enjoyed evenings by the fire. The kitchen was perfect for the cooking of our Thanksgiving meal and the following breakfasts, lunches and dinners. The location was very convenient to Mt Greylock and Mass MOCA. We would definitely consider a return trip in the future.

    Ron2016-11-27T00:00:00Z
  • Vince has a lovely home on a large property along a winding brook. The house itself was comfortable and we made great use of the fully equipped kitchen, the projector/tv room on the 2nd floor, and the hot tub. We were able to easily walk to Williams College campus and the town for restaurants, coffee shop etc. Vince had clear communication and was a pleasant host. I highly recommend a stay at his house.

My sunny, comfortable guest apartment is located on the 2nd floor of a Victorian house in the Cady Hill Historic District, one of the oldest neighborhoods in North Adams. It has a private entrance. Off-street parking is available for one vehicle. Free, wifi/wireless access is included. The apartment is quiet and modern. There is a small sitting room off of the entry hall that that is perfect for two. The full kitchen has new appliances (range/oven; refrigerator; microwave), a tea kettle and coffee maker, a table and chairs, and cupboards stocked with essentials for light cooking (dishes, flatware, etc.). The bedroom has a queen bed, a bookcase and easy chair. There is a full bath with a tub and shower next to the bedroom. I provide sheets, blankets, bath towels and kitchen towels. The house is close to MASS MoCA (ten minute walk), MCLA (five minute walk), and just a few blocks away from downtown coffee shops and restaurants. Natural Bridge State Park and Windsor Lake are a five minute drive away. Williams College, Clark Art Institute, WCMA and the Williamstown Theatre Festival are accessible by car (fifteen minutes).
  • Our stay was great! The apartment was clean, lovely, and comfortable, true to its description. The aesthetic charm of the furnishings and decor, down to the game cabinet was downright dreamy. Diane was easy to communicate with ahead of time and helpful with providing information about the area. The apartment has a great location, easy to walk into town and explore by foot or bicycle. Thanks Diane!

    Pilar2016-06-21T00:00:00Z
  • Would return?: Absolutely! Favorite part: How comfortable the home is. We loved our stay at Jill's guest apartment in North Adams! We booked it because of its convenient location within the Berkshires, and are so happy that we did. The place is wonderful - just enough for you to be comfortable, not enough for you to be worried or concerned. They really took the time to think about their guests' experience, making sure that all bases were covered. The living room was our favorite: a place to relax and play some card games, but not focused on the tv; an opportunity to enjoy being exactly where we were. They also took the time to think about what guests may have forgotten, but would like to use during their stay, such as a cooler and a backpack. It's a level of care that you don't see everywhere.

    Duncan + Kelsey2015-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • Diane's apartment was lovely. Nice design touches and everything you need for a stay in North Adams. We were able to cook a meal, care for an infant and walk to nearby shops, restaurants and MassMOCA. The next time we are back in North Adams, we'll try to stay here.

    Aaron2017-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • We loved Jill's apartment - very clean and cozy with a super comfortable bed. Great book collection too! Easy access to art museums and good restaurants. Great place to stay in the Berkshires. Highly recommended!

  • It was such a pleasure staying in Diane's apartment for our weekend getaway in North Adams. The space was extremely cozy and full of natural light. We appreciated the tea and coffee selection—I made a lovely pot of Rooibos while my partner made a Moka pot espresso. If it had been a warmer and less blustery day, we would have taken advantage of the easily walkable distance to Mass MoCA. Even in the cooler weather, Mass MoCA was a convenient 4 minute drive away, and downtown was even closer. We loved our stay, and are hoping to return later in the summer to check out some other exhibits at the museum, and explore North Adams more!

    Melissa2017-04-30T00:00:00Z
  • Jill and Diane provided a comfortable, clean, light-filled beautiful space. The instructions were clear on arrival on accessing entrance to the apartment. A wonderful list was provided with recommendations to the area which was very helpful. The market is very close and I was able to run out quickly and grab cooking oil and be back in 10 minutes(by car). We live in a home where we take off our shoes so we were very happy to know shoes aren't allowed to be worn throughout the flat (It feels much cleaner that way). The apartment gets lots of light, there were plenty of books for reading and viewing(photography books). The neighborhood is additionally very quiet. The design - Oh the design! We loved the simplicity of the space and it has inspired us to re-decorate our home. The minimalism is what originally attracted me to the listing in the first place. I wished we were staying longer than a night to really enjoy the space more. If you are staying in North Adams this is the place to be!!!!!!! Thank you kindly Jill and Diane!!!!!

    Meaghan2015-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • Diane’s place is a lovely, bright apartment in a beautiful Victorian home. The space simultaneously managed to be both cozy and roomy. It is decorated simply and artfully and she has curated a wonderful selection of books on topics such as art, music and creativity. The neighborhood is convenient to walk downtown and to Mass MoCA. I would definitely stay here again (in fact, there’s a few books that I started and didn’t get a chance to finish, so for that reason alone, I’m sure I’ll be back!)

This is a quiet room with a large private bathroom and a comfortable full size bed, also with a private entrance only for the use of guests. Five minutes drive to MassMoCA, walking distance from a nice section of the Appalachian trail. In between North Adams and Williamstown, the location is ideal if you are planning to visit both MassMoCA and the Clark. The street is in a quiet natural area, on a wooded hillside. Parking in front of the house, in the driveway.
This is a quiet and comfortable place to spend the night. A private bathroom with bathtub and shower opens directly from the guest room, and the room has a private entrance as well. We do not provide breakfast but there is a variety of ways to prepare tea and coffee, and sometimes we offer croissants or home baked goods. Guests are welcome to be anywhere in the downstairs section of the house, including the dining room, or the picnic table outside, when the weather is nice.
In-between Williamstown and North Adams, in a natural area. The house is in a quiet little street, right by a stream. From the front porch you get a view on the mountains.
Ottimo rapporto qualità-prezzo! Sicuramente da consigliare!

    Angelica2016-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • Dori was a wonderful host! The room and bathroom were extremely comfortable. The front porch was a delightful breakfast nook. And she and her mother were both lovely and interesting people. We would highly recommend her in every way.

    David2015-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay at Dori's cute and well located home! Dori was flexible with our arrival and our room was very clean and accurately described. The private room and bathroom was perfect for our 1 night stay in the beautiful Berkshires and we would definitely stay again!

    Megan2015-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • Great location between North Adams and Williamstown. The house and room had an up north cabin kind of feel-- old, cozy, and lots of quilt patterns. We felt welcomed and enjoyed the flexibility of arrival time. Having a parking spot right in front was also very convenient. Nice spot for a quick one-night stay in Western Massachusetts.

    Amber2016-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had virtually the same observations as the recent review by "Joanna & Matt" so we'll just say "ditto" to that with the additional note that we were delighted to discuss her lovely paintings with Gabriella (Mom) in the morning after enjoying her homemade Hungarian pastry and coffee.

    Randy2015-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • We were only at Dori's for one night, and didn't get to meet her. But her mother was there to greet us when we pulled up to the house, and she showed us around. The place was clean and very much as described, and we have no complaints. We especially liked having our own entrance and bathroom. I would recommend Dori's place to anyone planning a short stay in N. Adams.

    Marti2016-06-19T00:00:00Z
  • The house was nice/clean and the room was spacious with a private bathroom and rear entrance. The only issue was the host doesn't provide house, room keys, or a secure space to leave personal items. This may be an issue of concern if you travel with electronics as we do and had to leave them locked in our car while out exploring the area...

  • Erins’s place is immaculate and modern. It’s a great place to stay if you’re seeing a show at Mass Moca or need to stay a night in the area. Having our morning coffee in the well maintained garden was a really enjoyable. I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a relaxing, quiet place to stay and doesn’t need a lot of room.

  • Very nice location. Clean and comfortable room and bed. Really nice cabin in the woods feel. Got a great night's sleep

  • The guest house was the perfect spot for a weekend getaway for my sister and I. It was quaint and cozy, and located perfectly near amazing hiking, adorable shops, and interesting historical/cultural sites. Erin was very communicative and made sure we had everything we needed. We'll come back in a heart-beat!

    Eva2017-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • The Bauhaus is fantastic! It made for the ideal long weekend getaway in the mountains with easy access to Williamstown/North Adams and Bennington. The house is small but ideal for a couple with just enough room to spread out, a nice view, good light and air, and pleasant atmosphere. We only briefly met one of the hosts and he was very nice, otherwise we had a quiet, private stay in the detached guesthouse close to the main home.

    Tjfunk792017-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • So bummed that I only needed a place to stay for the one night. Next time I will totally come back and hopefully stay for longer then one night! The location is gorgeous. The house is also amazing. I really recommend staying here. Especially for Williamstown Theater Festival visitors.

    Cesar2016-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • This beautiful mid - century Bauhaus home is secluded yet near the Clark Institute Museum (just the other side of the Vermont - Massachusetts border). The quarters are private, and as it turned out, I didn't get to meet Erin... though she communicated information I needed and offered excellent recommendations for places to eat.

    Rob2017-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay. Very good value.

    Mark2017-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • Erin responded right away to our messages when we were on the way up - we wanted to check the address and confirm our arrival time - and was right there to let us in and show us around when we got there. It's a charming spot, just as described in the listing. Erin was friendly and available throughout our stay. Would recommend.

Plenty of parking, in the center of town, walking distance to Williams College and The Clark and 10 min away from MassMoca. 3 bedrooms: 1 - full size bed plus full size bottom bunk and twin top bunk 2 - full size bottom bunk with twin top bunk 3- full size bed 1 1/2 baths, big bright open living space, dining and kitchen area.
  • The place is close to town, bright and spacious. I like that you can walk to downtown in 20 minutes, always on a sidewalk: very useful if, like us, you have a stroller. The building has also a very nice architecture. Unfortunately, we had some issues with this place. When we arrived the fridge was full, the dishwasher was half full (and had not been run yet) and there was laundry in the washer. All of these were problems for us because we were planning to use the kitchen and the washer. I explained these issues to Nancy and she agreed to a partial refund. I have not met Nancy in person but she seems very nice and, on my end, this issue has resolved amicably.

  • Nancy was a great host! The apartment was open and spacious and very convenient. Everything was as described - highly recommend!

  • Nancy was amazing! A great communicator and has a lovely home.

    Roya2017-11-18T00:00:00Z
  • Nancy was super responsive and thoughtful as a host. Everything was right where she said it would be! The parking and placement of the apartment is just perfect! A really good night's rest before a section hike of the Long Trail!

    Julianne2016-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • This apartment was spacious and clean and well located. Nancy was easy to communicate with. There are lots of beds and two bathrooms. There was lots of personal stuff everywhere, which may be difficult for kids to resist, and was a bit overwhelming.

    Kathy2018-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • The listing was accurate and all the details were provided well before time. The house was well equipped and we had a comfortable stay. Would definitely stay there again. Thanks Nancy!

  • Easy access to Williams College and Mass MOCA. Nancy resolved issues that arose quickly.

    Erik2017-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Clean, comfortable and spacious. Note that master bed really sleeps only 1 person, as it is pushed up against the wall, making it difficult for second adult to get in / out. Master bed also needs some sort of lamp next to the bed.

  • Our stay with Julia was great and she was a responsive host! Her location being down the street from Cricket Creek Farm and the Store at 5 corners was perfect for us. The creek at the back of the property was lovely!

  • We visited Williamstown for the various museums in the Berkshire’s. The apartment is surrounded by lovely green and it was a quiet and peaceful stay. It was close driving distance to all the spots on our list. The fact that it was clean and tidy was important to us. We were able to connect to internet easily but could not make phone calls with our ATT carrier. That appears to be an issue for the general area, not specific to this home. I highly recommend this place and would love to return.

    Rachel2018-05-24T00:00:00Z
  • Had a wonderful time! Enjoyed the backyard - and the walk for coffee. Had an excellent time exploring Mass Moca, Tanglewood and all the local art. Would definitely stay there again.

  • We had a lovely winter get away at Julia's. Cozy and full of light, this was certainly a delightful stay. Llamas included!

  • Julia's place is wonderful! Cozy and comfortable, charming apartment in the beautiful Berkshires. Julia is a great host and very easy to communicate with. Very thankful to her for allowing our dog.

  • Great location. Close to Williamstown and a few steps from cute gourmet store/cafe, but still has a rural feel. Julia was a lovely host and the apartment was comfortable. Another plus, is that dogs are allowed and there is an enclosed area outside accessible through a doggie door.

    Suzanne2017-04-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay at Julia's place. The house is perfect for a weekend getaway and the area is gorgeous. Julia is a great host. Her place is close to a number of attractions, namely the Clark and Mass MoCA, as well as a number of good restaurants. There are also some fantastic hiking trails close by. Thank you, Julia!

    Benjamin2017-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our stay at this lovely apartment! The photos really don't do this space justice, particularly missing how wonderful the natural lighting is. We enjoyed walking through the property to visit the llamas and find a quiet meadow. Julia and her family were so friendly and helpful. This is a perfect base for exploring the Berkshires and we only wished we could have stayed longer!

Enjoy staying in a charming old farmhouse on 2+ acres and on the Green River in Williamstown. 1.3 miles from downtown. Newly renovated and furnished with a unique mix of old and new. 3 bedrooms, 1 ½ bathrooms, sun room, hardwood floors, washer & dryer, dishwasher and deck. Walk the beautiful property to the river. Close to Williams College, Mass MoCa and the Clark Art Institute.
The village of Williamstown is a small town in Western Massachusetts with restaurants coffee shops, and a local cinema on the main street. It is the home of Williams College and the Clark Art Institute, as well as, the Williamstown Theater Festival. It is a great place to view the fall colors, enjoy nature with a variety of lovely walks in, and around, Mt. Greylock, and with ready access to an array of quality art and cultural experiences. It is located approximately a 12 minute drive to North Adams and Mass Moca, and is about a one hour drive to Tanglewood and Jacobs pillow.
  • Very cute house convenient to Williamstown. Amy was a great host - leaving snacks and coffee for us. Also very helpful with scheduling. We enjoyed our time there very much.

  • Excellent location, beautiful house, and terrific host. This is a lovely house, very well equipped and with plenty of room. The grounds are lovely. Everything was perfect for our stay.

  • Quaint, rustic farmhouse. Ideal proximity to Williamstown, without being "in" town. Loved waking up to the sound of birds and the river flowing by. Host was very accommodating.

  • Amy's home in Williamstown was a great find for a large group of 7 friends. We could all comfortably sleep there by sharing beds and using the comfortable pull-out couch. Thanks to 1.5 bathrooms and plenty of living space (kitchen, dining room, living room, and outdoor deck), we weren't crowded at all. The house was fully stocked with towels, shower amenities, every kitchen supply we needed, and even breakfast food for the first day. The house was decorated with very nice touches, including a sun room, flowers on the table, and a location right along a bubbling brook. There were also plenty of fans for when the May weather got a little warmer than usual (80s). The home is conveniently located in the middle of all the major activities out in that part of the state (hiking, swimming, Mass MoCA, Williams campus), never more than 30 min. from any of our destinations of choice in every direction. Highly recommend!

    Leanna2018-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • Amy is a very friendly hostess, good communication, the house is clean and comfortable. Amy is flexible in allowing our out of normal check in and check out times. We will definitely come back

  • Amy’s home in Williamstown was absolutely perfect for our group of 7 people. We came up for our Williams College reunion and the house had everything we needed for the weekend! The house was clean, tidy, and had all the amenities we needed. Amy opened the house up for us early the day of our arrival and left a very thoughtful note and some treats for breakfast the next day. She also come over to introduce herself to our group which was really nice. The location of the house is absolutely perfect for any type of Williams event, and being on the river was so beautiful. We would absolutely recommend this home and hope to stay again on our next trip to Williamstown! Thank you Amy!

    Annie2018-06-10T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful farmhouse with all the amenities you need. Cozy, clean and plenty of space! Amy left breakfast treats in the fridge and coffee for our mornings. We could have just turned up with our clothes and toothbrushes! Definitely a great space we'll visit again! Views of the Green River were beautiful :)

    Nancy2018-04-01T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect for our group of 6 friends' summer weekend getaway in the Berkshires! Amy's place was very clean and had enough room for all of us. We had everything we needed - linens, towels, kitchen utensils, coffeemaker AND coffee - and the place was nicely decorated without clutter. There's also ample outdoor space and we had breakfast outside every day. Very peaceful. Location was great - a short drive to town shops, Williams college, and many trails. Overall a very good experience.

Third floor suite has 3 furnished rooms, and bathroom with clawfoot tub (no shower). Comfortable sitting room with couch and chair. Room with table, microwave, coffee maker, mini frig, and bookcases. Coffee, tea, sugar, creamer, dishes for 1 person including a wine glass and bottle opener. Bedroom has single bed with memory foam mattress topper. Soft flannel sheets in winter and 100% cotton sheets in summer. You have shared use of the 2nd floor laundry. The rooms are sunny, quiet, airy and private.
The main part of the house was built in 1815. The back part of the house, where you will be staying, was built in 1911. It has a back entrance, separate from my part of the house, and off street parking. You take the back stairs up to the third floor, the former servant's quarters. You don't come through the main part of the house at all so you can come and go as you please. There is a bath on the third floor with a claw foot tub. You will also have use of the second floor laundry room. The third floor is for just one guest, but I also have a room on the second floor with a double bed if you need more space. That's listed separately.
I live in a residential neighborhood on the village green just outside the center of town and on the edge of the Williams campus. Everything is within walking distance, including fabulous restaurants, galleries, Williams College, the Williamstown Theater Festival (less than half a mile), and the Clark Art (1 mile, a 15 minute walk).
  • This was a great place to stay while visiting my son at Williams College. I could walk to everything and there was even a small sitting area where we could chat as a break from his busy apartment with lots of roommates. Thanks!

  • Such a quaint spot! I was there for a conference at Williams, and the location was absolutely perfect. It was not only close to campus and surrounding coffee shops and restaurants but also a walkable distance to a local hiking area (Pine Cobble). Highly recommend!

  • Location is perfect, especially if visiting Williams College. This house is very quaint and traditional. Cynthia was very welcoming but also allowed for plenty of privacy. Overall a great place to stay!

    Jared2018-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Cynthia's accommodations were exactly as described in her listing. Her property was in a great location that was convenient to everything in downtown Williamstown. The room itself was very comfortable, and Cynthia was thoughtful in providing some coffee supplies for the morning. The part of the house where I stayed had its own private entrance, which allowed me to come and go as I pleased. Cynthia was warm and pleasant during our brief interaction, and she was flexible about my arrival time. All in all, I would recommend this property to anyone looking to stay in Williamstown, and I would happily stay here again on a return trip.

  • Cynthia was there to great me and get me settled into "my little apartment." Having the 3 rooms was wonderful with coffeemaker, microwave and mini-frig. Everything was clean and bed was very comfortable. Location was very convenient to town with everything within walking distance. I will definitely stay again the next time I am in town.

  • We had a fabulous family stay at Rachelle's. The place is close to everything the Berkshires have to offer in the Summer, yet "serene" indeed. The loft is very well appointed and stocked with everything anyone may possibly need. Rachelle and her husband are very respectful of their guests' privacy, yet quietly attentive and highly responsive. A true gem.

    Bernard2016-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • What a lovely loft! We had a great stay. We would highly recommend it for others visiting Williams/Williamstown.

    Theresa2016-05-17T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely loft in a gorgeous location. Perfect for our Williams commencement weekend. Rachelle did everything possible to make us feel comfortable including fresh eggs from the chickens and all kinds of goodies for breakfast.

    Ann2016-06-07T00:00:00Z
  • My two friends and I had a wonderful weekend getaway at Rachelle's place. The space is comfortable, clean, and homey. The kitchen is well-supplied (including eggs from the chickens in the backyard!) if you want to cook in, and it's conveniently located within a 15 minute drive to pretty much anything in Williamstown or North Adams. Rachelle is an attentive host, super-friendly, and very responsive. We all agreed this was one of our best airbnb experiences to date and would happily stay there again if the opportunity presents itself!

    Carolyn2017-11-19T00:00:00Z
  • Wow, what a great spot! The loft was our best AirBnB experience yet. It is everything stated on the site and more. We felt so comfortable there and had plenty of room for our young adult sons, and a few stray relatives during our family reunion. When Rochelle means stocked kitchen, she means it. We had waffles one morning, fresh eggs, fruit and yogurt, the list goes on and on. The space is absolutely beautiful, the woodwork is amazing, and the Hawaiian artwork relates the Aloha spirit so nicely. Thank you Rochelle for making our stay so easy and being flexible with us. We highly recommend the loft for the BEST stay in the Berkshires.

    Dotty2016-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • My son and his family had nothing but rave reviews about this airbnb. The communication between the host and the guest was excellent- all information needed was supplied in an appropriate way. My family said it was "adorable", and had everything they needed. They especially enjoyed the breakfast treats.

    Merry2016-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely beautiful property! The loft was spacious and comfortable, even for 8 people. It is so cozy and unique, and Rachelle was a wonderful hostess, and extremely accommodating. I would definitely stay here again!

    Ariel2016-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely beautiful apartment with a full kitchen, living room, and porch. Rachelle and her husband were both very kind and welcoming, providing all manner of foods for breakfast. Our cabin was built for family, friends, and guests to relax and enjoy an unobstructed view of the green mountains in the heart of Vermont. You won't find a more beautiful place to call home during your stay.
Please be mindful this cabin is off the grid. You can drive directly to it, so bringing water and supplies is a breeze. Does have a very well built Jamaica Cottage Shop outhouse, but no running water or shower. Heating sources are propane and a pellet stove which similar to all electric within cabin runs with an inverted generator. The generator is extremely quiet and cabin can be run on solar too.
Incredible access to Vermont Green Mountain National Forest and State Parks. Cabin is located on a gravel road that leads to Little Pond in Woodford, VT. It is an easy drive (15 min.) to Mount Snow and Bennington. Only a few miles from Prospect Nordic Resort. Woodford State Park is 3 miles away. Cabin is off the grid with solar power and generator power. It's very comfortable, but I don't want guests to be surprised. Water is carry in and the bathroom is a very clean outhouse constructed by Jamaica Cottage Shop.
  • Carson's place was an amazing spot for a get-away from society! An amazing little cabin run off a generator with a perfect view. Unfortunately the fog took away from the amazing view that should have been the back of the three ski resorts. Carson was also great, met us on his lunch hour for an early check in, and even lent us his car as ours was not capable of making it up the hill! Everything down to the outhouse was an amazing escape from reality. Definitely recommend for a weekend getaway!

    Megan2016-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • We very much enjoyed our stay, it was a relaxing and enjoyable experience. Even though it rained most of our stay, we still enjoyed ourselves because there was a perfect rainy day set up of TV and movies available. It was a beautiful view after the 4 inches of snow!!! Thanks Carson!

    Rob2016-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing time at Carson and Ali's cabin with our young daughter and two dogs. We had expected a late-fall hiking trip, but Carson kindly phoned the day before to let us know that a storm had somewhat unexpectedly dropped over two feet of snow, and he offered to reschedule if we were unequipped for the conditions. We were fine; we unpacked our hiking gear and loaded our skis, and were thrilled to discover that the cabin was perfectly comfortable and cozy for a winter trip. We had a great time skiing, sledding, and romping in the snow. The blanket of ice and snow made the quiet even more striking, and the views over the mountains and valleys were spectacular. We did use our 4-wheel-drive to get all the way up to the cabin when we first arrived, but by the time we left (6 or so days after the snowfall) we would have been fine with 2WD.

    Kendra2016-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • Carson went above and beyond to make our experience in Woodford truly incredible. As advertised, the cabin was off the grid, but stocked with everything we needed to make the most of our trip. The property was gorgeous - remote yet cozy and comfortable - and we had great access to snow shoeing. There was literally a trail leading straight from the front door to a pond that looked like it was out of a fairy tale. The cabin was also very close to other parks, ski resorts, and great restaurants in both Wilmington and Bennington. We will be sure to visit again, thanks to Carson and his amazing cabin.

    Bryan2016-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful place. Views are incredible, easy access to hiking trails while still close to town. Carson was a great host. We had a wonderful weekend.

    Robert2017-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was picture perfect. The view from the large windows in the main room is just breath taking, a hikers dream view. Though most of it disappeared from the snow. It was a humbling experience using an outhouse, which was very clean and didn't bother us. It was a great place to get snowed in and just relax as a little family, biggest bonus that they are pet friendly! Would love to go again, earlier in the fall to see the foliage, be sure to plan ahead if it snows, because you'll surely get stuck on the mountain!

    Mackenzie2016-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place- exactly as described and as the pictures. Carson was very good to deal with and it was very clean and well prepared for our arrival. I was glad another reviewer advised arriving in daylight as its a bit tricky to find but not too bad. Our only bit of bad luck was my wife slipping over on the wet decking and injuring both of her knees. Be careful if it's rainy! The kitchen is limited, there is no fridge (take ice) and doing dishes was hard with bottled water and no plug. Compensating for that -the beds and sofas are all fab, the fire pit is brilliant, hiking straight out the door into woods is amazing and the view and solitude is wonderful.

My place is a small mid-century modern glass and wood cabin 300 yards away from a charming small lake. The house isn't on the lake itself, but you can use my canoe that is docked nearby. The only heat is a wood stove... so please be hearty and ready to stoke a fire if the weather is cold! This is a retreat for couples, solo adventurers, and families.
Wake up surrounded by oak, beech and maple. Lots of glass and no curtains, so don't choose this if you are worried about raccoons and chipmunks seeing you naked. This house is raised about six feet off the ground - my kids call it "The Tree House." (Technically it's not in a tree, but it feels like it.) This is a total escape: there is no internet except what you bring with you. This is a place to unplug.
This lake is a small private community where most people know each other and houses mostly stay in extended families. The lake does not allow motorboats, so it remains clean and quiet.
  • This cabin is the perfect place to unplug, breath in, and go for a cool refreshing swim. It has all the amenities I really appreciated on a retreat including a well equipped kitchen (pots, pans, knives, cutlery), a beautiful large tub, and an outdoor shower (note that this is the only shower). Beyond this the cabin itself is beautifully constructed and full of small details I found myself appreciating daily. The location aside, Igor & Todd were wonderful hosts and provided all the details we needed to settle in and get situated. All this said, this it is the middle of the woods so there are a fair amount of six-legged creatures in the surrounding area, although all the screen doors and windows left the house well sealed except for the occasional ant. I would suggest bringing a good bug spray if you intend on hiking. Suggestions for nearby : Lumberjack Coffee Fire watch tower (very short but neat hike and look out) Man of Kent (MOK)

    John2017-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • Great house in the trees in a secluded lakeside neighborhood! We were looking for a place to get away from it all. This place is a happy medium between luxury and roughing it. It has all the experience of camping without having to actually sleep outside. A perfect amount of nature for people that may not want to rough it too much. Todd was extremely helpful with everything, including access to the nearby lake and canoe. Great experience! We'll be back!

  • Everything was perfect and just as described. There were three of us for the weekend and one of us arrived earlier and the hosts were able to meet him early right after I emailed them. The communication was excellent. He had recommendations for places to see nearby and honestly it was a perfect location for a weekend getaway.

  • What a wonderful place to spend a long weekend! The cabin was a perfect launching point for exploring the region; Williamstown, North Adams, Mount Greylock, etc. are all short and scenic drives away. The weather didn’t cooperate one day, but the cabin was a perfect sanctuary to hunker down, read, and relax to the sound of falling rain on the roof. The listing is 100% accurate and Todd is a fantastic host. Clear and speedy communications throughout our stay. We look forward to future stays at the Cozy Cabin in the Woods!

  • Gorgeous place! We were welcomed with a fire only a match strike away from lit in the woodstove, beautiful flowers on the kitchen table, and snacks in the fridge. We spent one lovely night and day in the woods as the summer days were starting to grow colder. Very magical place. Considerate, personal hosting.

  • Igor's cabin in the woods is an ideal place for someone looking to get away, relax and just enjoy nature. All of the windows and the views in every direction were amazing.

  • Had a wonderful and relaxing stay at this cabin! It's a perfect getaway in the woods, with an awesome view of the trees thru the glass. The outdoor shower was great even with the chilly weather. Only a short drive to lots of pretty nature trails!

Double beds with private bathroom upstairs. Possible to book 3 bedrooms, sleeping 6. Wifi /cable tv/dvd . Only book one room at a time unless friends/family traveling together. Friendly large dog (collie/poodle) lives here.
You can rent one room or all three upstairs bedrooms. There are two double-bedded rooms and one queen room. One room has its own tv. Since the house is very large (12 rooms), there is a lot of privacy. I have my own suite downstairs.
South Williamstown was the farming part of Williamstown and original lots were 50 acre parcels. The views of the mountains are amazing and property backs onto the Green River. Near good hiking trails.
  • Bette's home is absolutely lovely. It was the quintessential farm house, with an eclectic, artistic style that was delightful to the eye, as well as very comfortable. We highly recommend Bette's home, as it is even better than described

  • A lovely stay. Bette made us feel very comfortable and welcome. Her home and gardens are charming. We had a great rest on Saturday night and enjoyed a lovely home cooked breakfast the next morning.

    Susan2015-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Bette's farmhouse. Our room was warm and cozy despite subzero temperatures. She cooked us a delicious breakfast and we had a great time talking to her about her travels. Her dog is also delightful.

    Jesselyn2016-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • We can't say enough about Bette's wonderful hospitality. She is warm, welcoming and very knowledgeable about the area. Every one of her suggestions was excellent and perfect for us. And we have a sense that no matter how long we might stay, she would be able to find us wonderful things to do. She provided a delicious breakfast and fascinating conversation every day. Even her dog made us feel like visiting royalty. This was our second visit, and we know that we'll be back. This is a great location - convenient to all the cultural attractions of the area, but also a laid back oasis. Sip coffee in the garden, watch the humming birds, drink in the hills. The best of all worlds.

  • Bette was very welcoming. She made us breakfast in the morning and it was wonderful sharing a meal and learning about each other. I would definitely stay here again.

    Andrew2015-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Everything about our stay at Bette's charming farmhouse was delightful. Bette was as sweet as the locally sourced maple syrup poured upon our morning buckwheat pancake. The accommodations were just as described and her adorable dog Offie was a polite and loving presence to have greeting us as the door. Highly recommended.

    Salim2016-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had an excellent experience at the farmhouse! Bette was very welcoming and prepared a delicious breakfast. She was very flexible and the place was very cozy!

  • Very pleasant, old house in the rural countryside near Williamstown and North Adams. You will enjoy a very thoughtfully maintained old house with wonderful decor, books, and a comfortable, sweet living room. The bedroom is spacious. Great sunshine during the day, and a big comfortable bed. This is a delightful place to stay, and the owner is a treat to get to know. Terrific breakfast in the morning. Many thanks.

Gorgeous Barn Home, created from a 1930's dairy barn renovated into a unique residence with chef's kitchen, lap pool, hot tub, balcony for outdoor grilling and dining, mountain views. Conveniently located in the village of Pownal Center where VT/MA/NY meet. Enjoy everything from Agritourism to Sarasota Racetrack to Jacob's Pillow & Tanglewood to world class museums to outlet shopping, to superb hiking and river boating. Paid guests have access to our website with scores of area activities.
This is our former home and is actually a portion of a 10,000 sf renovated barn complex which includes our former studio and gallery now closed, separate guest quarters, as well as ample areas for outdoor living with pool, patio, and large yard. This is a really unique space. The original barn was converted to retail in the 60's and included 7 stained glass windows rescued from an old church in Whitehall, NY. When we completely renovated we left these gorgeous windows alone. Our renovation added a fabulous kitchen and bathroom, deck with hot tub, courtyard and pool, dining room, family room and what we call the "bunkhouse room". We also added air conditioning and a gas fireplace for winter coziness. The photos will tell the story better than my words can ever do. There are sleeping accommodations for 8 people but we do not rent to six or more adults as it would overtax the septic and hot water systems. Note to potential guests: 99% of our guests love staying here and return while recommending us to their friends. The other fraction of a percent have a problem with rough-hune barn boards, slightly out-of-square or out-of-plumb angles, windows not designed to open, an occasional mouse "leave-behind", the proximity to a road (hey, where else would you put your barn), and any number of other observations. It is not some architectural masterpiece. This is our former home which we designed into a somewhat funky residence that maintains a barn-like flavor. If these things bother you please do not rent from us! We depend on good reviews and a good rental season to cover the costs of owning this rural treasure.
Rural village setting but extremely convenient to Williamstown, Bennington and points west. Up at the top of the hill next store is a wonderful working farm with iconic views belonging to the Gardner family. Marilyn loves visitors and you can buy eggs, raw milk, honey, maple syrup, and organic beef and pork. The view across the valley from there is included in our photos. The Pownal Valley has been painted extensively for the past two centuries. Artists like Frank Mason, Georgia O'Keefe and Norman Rockwell have created paintings here, as well as numerous other students and instructors of the Art Students League of NY. The latter maintained a summer boarding house across the street from our barn for many years. We are just 6 miles from either Bennington or Williamstown, MA. The museums, Mass MoCA and the Clark, draw visitors from around the world. Bennington College, Williams College and Southern Vermont college are nearby. There are numerous attractions in the adjacent Berkshires as well.
  • Though my girlfriend and I had this property booked months ahead of time as a year-end vacation, we came here within 24 hours of her apartment burning down (where two of her neighbors died and she lost everything she owned). Overall my girlfriend and I had an amazing experience at this property, staying here for one week in the wake of such a tragedy. The house was everything as advertised and we had few issues. This was a quiet, peaceful, and somewhat private place to lay low and begin the rebuilding process. Property highlights include the hot tub (which we used multiple times a day), the kitchen (so much space and great appliances! though definitely bring certain cooking tools, as it’s a bit limited in that department), and the living room/study. Gabe and Pat were very communicative prior to the trip. The only slight concern - the house manager takes some getting used to in dealing with her. But she is nice, means well and ultimately solved any small questions/issues we had on site (such as the Internet not working for a few hours). She made sure that it was solved very quickly. Lastly, when you put the address in (Hidden by Airbnb) Maps, it doesn’t take you to the exact location. Best to use coordinate - (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) . Overall I highly recommend this property and hope we can visit again under better circumstances. We’ll always remember this house though as it helped make comfort during a very tough time.

    Andrew2016-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Very beautiful and modern space. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils and things that are needed to cook with. Be aware that the king bed only has a large closet wrapped around it separating it from the rest of the living room, aka people sitting on the couches will be able to hear on whatever is being said on the other side. And the bathroom is in front of the king bed but that didn’t pose any problem as long as people were quietly walking; the door shuts quietly. The bunks, dining room, kitchen, and pull out couch was all one connected area only separated by strips of wall but that was okay too. Overall the experience and house was amazing and if we’re ever coming back to VT, we will definitely be staying here again.

  • We loved our stay here! There is lovely hiking nearby and the place was family/pet friendly, which were such a treat from us visiting from NYC. Our daughter was enthralled with all the puppy stuffed animals in a basket. Best toy for her. There is also an awesome coloring table setup in the play area for kids a little older.

    Julie2016-11-27T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed at Pat and Gabe's place for a long weekend in Aug. It was exactly as pictured - nicely renovated and very comfortable. We had two kids and two dogs with us and it was plenty of room and very comfortable for everyone. Spacious kitchen, nice stove. The kids loved the bunk beds. Bathroom was large and nicely done. Pool area is fenced in and perfect for laps. We visited the nearby farm with the kids and it was a highlight of the trip. The farmers were incredibly friendly and gracious to show us around and also let us wander on our own. Great adventure for young kids. The house is conveniently located between Williamstown and Bennington. We mostly cooked at the house but still it was nice to have options nearby. We also went to Woodford State Park (25min drive) where there was a beautiful lake for swimming, canoeing, paddle boarding, hiking and the dogs could go off leash. The caretaker met us to let us in, she was very nice and informative about the area. Pat and Gabe stopped by at one point to work in their studio, said hello but left us on our own. Very friendly.

  • Great Place to relax - very cozy place with a great kitchen, good size and nice and quiet. Very well maintained.

    Craig2017-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • Pat has a beautiful home! The location is very convenient for exploring the area, and the furnishings inside were both useful and attractive. The place was very clean and could quite comfortably accommodate two parents and four children (or 4 more adults who don't mind sleeping in bunkbeds). Note: this is a shared property and there will be guests staying below you who also have access to the pool and the hot tub. That said, there is a lot of privacy when you're inside the unit, and plenty to do in the area when you're not relaxing at home.

    Jonathan2017-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely, cozy stay. The space is beautiful, tasteful, and is very enjoyable to spend time in. The spacious kitchen and hot tub felt particularly luxurious. The location is easy to find and use as a home base for day trips and other excursions. All around a great find and a great price.

    Evan2018-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Pat and Gabe have a lovely home. We were amazed at how big it was. The kitchen was well equipped and the family room was extremely cozy. For a busy New Yorker, it was nice to take a nap next to a warm fireplace on a cold day. The hot tub was the cherry on top of the visit. It was clean, modern, and placed just right for watching the sunset behind the mountains. The only caveat is that the house is situated right along a road with a decent amount of traffic. It didn't bother us too much but it was definitely a shock when we arrived. I've already recommended this place to friends looking for a visit up north.

Cool place on artists' enclave well located near MASS MoCA, Clark Art Institute, Williams College, near skiing and with pool access, tiki bar, smart TV, jacuzzi bath, porch and patio, WIFI, and lots of outlets in a quiet area on a quiet street.
It's a minute drive to the center of Williamstown, Massachusetts, home of Williams College, the Clark Art Institute and the Williamstown Theater Festival. There are many hiking trails and lots of pastoral scenery in the area.
  • Diana and Jeff were great hosts and made us feel very welcome at their Berkshires bungalow. They were also great hosts for our dog Chuchu, and were generous enough to take him on several walks with their own pair of huskies. We hope to return!

    Geoffrey2015-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Diana was wonderful. She showed us around the property upon arrival and made sure that we had everything we needed thought the duration of our stay. She even offered us smoothies in the morning! The bungalow was spacious and comfortable - highly recommend!

    Katie2015-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was great! Thanks so much for having us over and for taking such good care of us. Hope to visit again soon

    Cherif2016-05-31T00:00:00Z
  • Taylor and I had a wonderful time in Diana's bungalow in Williamstown. Her area of Williamstown is gorgeous, the bungalow was cozy and outfitted very nicely, and Diana was incredibly friendly. She welcomed us in to her bungalow, showed us around, was very receptive to communication via the Air BnB app, and made us delicious smoothies!

    Andrew2015-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Hollywood Bungalow was completely perfect and wonderful. I can't say enough good things about the space or about Diana! It was a little chilly when we arrived so we didn't try the tiki bar or the pool but both would be very very fun when the weather is warmer. The bungalow itself felt huge and was very well-equipped. There's a big screen porch and a living room with comfy leather couches and a large tv with Amazon Prime and Netflix. The house is filled with gorgeous original art and there was enough space for us to spread out and really feel at home. We especially enjoyed the big kitchen, with skylights, snacks, coffee, plus plates and pots and pans and everything you'd need to cook or bake for a small army! Diana greeted us and showed us around, and made us feel really comfortable and welcome. We always felt like we could ask for anything we needed and she gave us great recommendations for places to visit around Williamstown. We spent most of the drive home trying to figure out excuses to come back, and I'd definitely recommend this place for anyone visiting Williamstown, North Adams or anywhere in the Berkshires or Western MA, really!

  • This was a great place to stay in Williamstown. The hosts were accommodating and helpful and the set was wonderful.

    Jonathan2018-06-06T00:00:00Z
  • The house is a nice small property at the end of a road on the north side of Williamstown. Perfect for a weekend of hiking and relaxing. Was nice to have Amazon Prime and Netflix ready to go, although internet connection was spotty. Only material negative were family members of the host who entered the house unexpectedly on two occasions.

    CJ2015-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great three day stay here. The place had everything we needed and was extremely close to town and everything Williamstown and the region has to offer.
