Il quartiere è pittoresco, ricco di storia e molto sicuro (da quando è stata conclusa la guerra civile inglese degli anni '40!) Little Compton ha una splendida casa padronale con chiesa sassone / normanna adiacente. • Pamela and her husband went out of their way to be friendly and welcoming, and were incredibly helpful. The accommodation itself was easy to find and beautifully kept with very comfortable beds. Breakfast was generous and tasty in the kitchen of their house. All in all a wonderfully idyllic spot that I wouldn't hesitate to recommend. We were only sorry we couldn't stay for longer!

  • We had a wonderful stay in Pamela's B&B. The 2 bedrooms and the bathroom are very cosy and quiet. They are located in a separeted part of the house which ensure some privacy. The welcome there was warm and the home-made breakfast very good!

  • I booked a night's stay here as a suprise birthday treat for my boyfriend, as neither of us had been to the Cotswolds before and really wanted to visit and have a nice relaxing stay. Pamela was very courteous, friendly and helpful with some of the activities/places we might want to see/do to make the most of our stay. The accommodation was lovely, very clean and comfortable. It is how it is described and brilliant having you're own space with all the extra homely touches that make it special. We both loved the full English breakfast in the morning and enjoyed chatting to Pamela as she was cooking it in her kitchen which is separate from the garden room. My boyfriend was very chuffed with my choice of accommodation and the area it was in. Little Compton is placed in a nice countryside area and was a perfect hub for us to explore the different places of the Cotswolds by car. There was some lovely walks nearby and we visited the rollright stones which is steeped in history from 1500BC. We booked a table at the red lion in the evening (just down the road) which was fab with your traditional pub favourites. We even received a complimentary kir royale as a birthday treat. (Very kind) Thank you for being such a wonderful host! And making our first Cotswolds trip one to remember and cherish.

  • Pamela is lovely and makes a great host. She gave us a warm welcome and cooked us a very tasty Full English the following morning. The accommodation is tastefully decorated with free standing bath well equipped with bubble bath and beauty treats from Pamela's downstairs salon. There were tea and coffee making facilities and the fridge was stocked with fresh organic milk and bottled water. The beds in both rooms are so comfy! Expect to wake up revitalised. Nice location in Little Compton, within walking distance of a friendly pub and a short drive from the pretty Cotswold town of Moreton in Marsh.

Mill Holm has a spacious hall area with hanging space for walking and cycling gear. You can enter the house via the kitchen or through the front door into the hallway. The stairs lead up from this hall. The sitting room is cosy with pretty views across the fields. The furnishing is simple but comfortable and there is a TV which you can use to watch DVDs (but there’s no TV reception for terrestrial or satellite TV). The futon sofa unfolds into a bed and you can snuggle down in the glow of the wood burner if you wish. The evening sun shines into the room, making it a great place to relax after a day exploring on foot, by bike or by car. There is a night storage heater and the wood burner for cooler evenings and we provide wood at £3/basket. If you aren't sure how to light the fire, we're on hand to help. The kitchen is well equipped with good quality pans and cooking utensils. If there's anything you haven't got, please just ask us. There is a table in the kitchen which unfolds to seat 4. If the Aga is running and you want to give it a go, you'll find an Aga Cookbook in the cupboard and we're very happy to share some tips to get you started. If Aga cooking sounds scary, you can simply use the electric cooker, slow cooker or microwave. (Please don't be disappointed if you find the Aga is not lit during the warmer months. It makes the house too hot and we want you to be as comfortable as possible.) Upstairs, there is a bright and airy bedroom with a comfortable double bed. There is plenty of storage space for your clothes. We love the views up the bridle way from the window. The second bedroom contains two single beds. There is limited storage in the room but guests can use the cupboard on the landing which has hanging space and a shelf. The bathroom is upstairs. There are steps between the bedrooms and the bathroom but we have night lights to help you find your way in the dark. Your garden is fenced with post-and-rail and there is a combination of flower beds, lawn and patio. There is a table and chairs on the patio and a barbecue too. The gravelled area provides plenty of parking for 2 or 3 cars and there is a gate if you need it. You might hear owls at night and see bats flying around when the weather is warmer. Hares, deer, badgers and foxes all pass through the garden and there is a large wild bird population. Although this is a simple property, it is very appealing to people who like to get away and relax in a quiet and natural spot. There is very little light pollution so it's a wonderful place for star gazing. You might also like to contact Chipping Norton Amateur Astronomy Group to get details of their organised events - and we've left a torch in the house for you to use during your stay!
  • Kate and Keith were wonderful hosts of such a cute cottage in a picturesque location. They looked after us so well when we were snowed in for an extra day. Highly recommended!

    Paul2017-12-10T00:00:00Z
  • Kate's barn is a wonderful place to stay, and she went out of her way to make our visit simple and relaxing. We had just one night to spend there, but would happily have spent many more. There was a fire laid for our enjoyment and Kate arranged to have a meal from outside available for us. The setting is far off the beaten path, but the reward is a splendid and serene environment. Kate's charming kids welcomed us like friends, and we loved their company. If we'd had longer to stay, the barn would make a great base from which to make day trips around the Cotswolds.

    Dana2017-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • Kate and Keith were perfect hosts, from the detailed communication before our stay and a very helpful welcome visit. The barn is clean and stocked with everything we could have needed.

    Georgina2017-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • From the warm hospitality to the picturesque setting... we loved it all. Unfortunately, we could only stay for a night, but we would definitely come back when in the area. We highly recommend this AirBnB.

    Nicole2017-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Myself, my husband and my two year old son had a lovely stay here. Lovely and warm with the fire and electric heaters throughout, everything we needed in the kitchen, lovely area (stunning with the snow we saw) and lots to do in the area.

    JENNIFER2017-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • We so enjoyed our time here - so peaceful and with beautiful walks right on the doorstep. Kate and Keith's recommendations were really helpful and there were so many thoughtful touches that made the cottage a really lovely place to stay.

  • A great base for exploring the Cotswolds, we loved Whichford pottery and had excellent food in the local pub. Lovely, peaceful accommodation, with beautiful scenery. We hope to return one day. Kate and Keith made us feel very welcome and provided everything we needed. Fab cookies!

  • This is a very cosy caravaning experience within the rolling hills of the Cotswolds. The fireplace inside kept us cosy and four people fit comfortably inside. The kitchen and bathroom which are a 30-second walk away are very warm with all basic amenities provided such as washing up liquid, utensils, and cooking materials. This was certainly a magical and unique experience, I can't even begin to describe the night sky! Perfect weekend getaway especially if you are from the city.

  • Had a great couple of days in the super cool airstream. Lovely wood burner so very cosy in the evening. Well equipped kitchen which was great. Nice showers in a seperate rustic shed 100ft away. Very comfortable bed but could have done with extra pillows. Place is very serene and quite. Nice pub in the village. You need to book in advance if you want to eat. No wifi or phone signal which is great! Will definitely be back.

    Paul2017-04-16T00:00:00Z
  • Well. What can we say. Absolutely amazing. Air stream Anna was a pure delight. The bullet was cosy clean and had everuthing in it we needed. Within walking distance to a lovely pub and the houses around here will leave your jaw on the floor. The toilet and shower block was fancier than any hotel we'd stayed in. The camp site was so secluded and you really did feel miles away from anywhere. We took a trip to stow on the wold which is as pretty as a picture. We will 100% be back. Thanks so much xxxxx

  • This is a very tranquil, good-spirited place. I loved hearing the birds and church bells at night.

    Suzanne2017-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • This Airstream was stunning! We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay. Although we stayed at the end of November the log burner and central heating made it so cosy and really warm. The setting was beautiful and a perfect getaway. This is a rural location but close enough to local amenities. The camp site itself had an amazing communal kitchen, toilets and showers. Communication with the hosts was excellent and they went over and above making sure our stay was perfect. Thanks for everything and hope to be back again.

  • A fantastic stay. Excellent facilities and better than described. Lovely setting and the yurt is cosy and very comfortable. Lovely to wake up to church bells and tranquility.

  • Had a thoroughly life-affirming and inspiring time at holycombe when visiting with my mum and friend. Booked yami yurt which was deliciously warm despite sub-zero outside. Booked a series of holistic therapies from the names suggested and all were extraordinary. Kitchen facilities absolutely perfect and we ate in the cosy kitchen hut, well-stocked with necessities. Stunning setting for total relaxation including sundown fire and wanderings to and around circle. We also hired the angel room for a sunrise yoga session and floated off into the world refreshed after 24 hours which reset and rebalanced us all. Wonderful.

    Nicola2016-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely afternoon and evening at the yurt. It's really nice that you're left to it here. A break from the hussle of city living. The setting is beautiful, facilities are good and the accommodation itself is a well thought out concept. I would definitely recommend this place to friends who really like camping. :-)

    Emma2016-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful yurt. Really quiet site. Beautiful place, smashing village and good amenities. We have said for the £115 we paid each night that there should have been sheets, duvet covers and towels thrown in, but that was our only gripe. Would recommend the camping at £20 a night! ThT wou D be great value!

    Kathy2017-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic stay, we arrived in whichford for Halloween and 6 of us stayed in yurt Yano and the extra boudoir. We had a great time, recommend the walks, pub and straw bale cafe at the pottery. Wonderful!

  • My partner and me visited in middle of February, when it was freezing outside but the yurt, kitchen and toilets were so warm and cosy! Great facilities available. It was everything we expected and more. Just what you need for a perfect get away, beautiful surroundings and lovely walks. Host was easy to communicate with. Would defiently recommend and return in the future!

    Charlotte2017-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • Sally was very prompt in terms of answering any (quite a few!) questions I had which was great. The yurt was wonderful! It was very comfortable and cosy. The camp site is nice an quiet. We had a lovely stay. Thanks.

  • The area is stunning and very peaceful. Facilities are excellent. Good shower and loos. Obviously a lot has been invested in what is available. Interesting to see such a variety of accommodation available, such as gypsy caravan, tent, yurt etc to name but three. Would definitely stay again. Excellent cafe nearby but it doesn't open until 10am.

Our Gypsy Caravan is perfect for a cosy romantic getaway, or a space of solitude for 1. With the wood burning stove and peaceful setting come and recharge your batteries in the countryside, living simply amongst nature.
Come and stay in a beautiful, gypsy bow top wagon in the heart of the Cotswolds and experience the simplicity that can be so hard to find in these times. With its colourful bright exterior and cosy interior, it sets the scene for the perfect romantic getaway, or peaceful solitude while surrounded by nature. Positioned in our quiet and pretty camping field, you can either sit outside watching nature go by, enjoying your own private fire pit or light the wood burner and get cosy in the seating area. The bed is quite small so we recommend this to couples who don’t mind snuggling up together, or to people on their own. The measurements of the bed are 6ft1 long and 4ft wide. A little step is provided for getting into the bed and a certain degree of agility is necessary. We supply a duvet and pillows but you need to bring a bottom sheet, top sheet (or duvet cover to go over ours), pillow cases and towells. There is power if you should want it and a lamp. We also supply an electric fan heater. You will have access to our camping kitchen and glamping bathroom, both of which are heated. The kitchen has a cooker, fridge, electricity and a table and chairs. There is a private firepit just outside and a bench table for you to enjoy eating on or simply taking in the lovely surroundings. If you think you are sensitive to the sound of church bells then please bring some earplugs as they chime every 15 mintues. Please note we only allow children age 12 and over and we don't allow dogs

  • We had a fantastic 2 night stay in the gypsy caravan. The caravan is really unique accommodation if you're looking for something a bit different! We had sunshine on the first day so could enjoy the beautiful surroundings and have an outside fire in the fire pit. It was rainier on the second day so we headed to the lovely local pub (very short walk away) and lit a fire inside the caravan to keep us warm. You are left to your own devices which is nice but you can usually find someone to ask for advice/directions. The kitchen and bathroom facilities are really good - clean & spacious, making it feel much more luxurious then your normal camp site. I would really recommend staying here but also be aware that it is a small space!

  • Very unique place to stay with plenty of heating to keep the space warm in the Winter. Great facilities, location and very peaceful. I will remember this stay for a very long time. Cheers, Simon

  • This is a quiet, peaceful and beautiful site. Nestled in a valley there is no mobile phone signal which proves to be a wonderful excuse to detach from the modern world for a while. The caravan itself is cosy and very warm with the fire going, with a surprising amount of storage! On site facilities are perfect, simple but comfortable and enough to drag me out of the caravan each day. Lots of walking and footpaths available to explore and with the woods just adjacent it is a place for quiet, relaxation, mindfulness and contemplation.

  • A really lovely, quirky stay. Simple but is exactly as advertised

    Sean2017-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • Gorgeous little place full of character and sited in an interesting location. The caravan is charming and toasty warm (it was frosty outside when we stayed) with the wood burner going. Toilet and shower very good and clean. It's a bit of a walk uphill from the main house to where you park your car so be prepared if you've got lots of stuff but otherwise I can't fault and would highly recommend!!!

    Robert2017-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Was an amazing experience, we both both loved it! I would recommend it to those who are looking for something unusual and romantic.

  • 100% would recommend. This was a lovely night away and I wish I had booked more than one and if I am in the area I will definitely be staying here again. Unfortunately I did not get to meet Sally but her email contained extremely detailed instructions on how to find the camp site and the caravan within. Her email also included a small list of things I might need to know and importantly where the local pub was. The caravan itself was small but I was made aware of this before booking and it had a very intimate feel. The allowance of a small fire outside of the caravan within our own personal area and the provision of firewood (for a small charge) was a lovely touch as most camp places do not allow open fires. The bathrooms were clean and warm with a shower and toilet paper provided. I was very pleased to see a kitchen with appliances and a fridge for any supplies you would need which allowed me to have a cup of tea in the morning. The location was lovely and the fact that the camp site was considered quiet allowed us to have a good night sleep and a nice romantic evening. Would most definitely recommend.

    Michelle2016-06-08T00:00:00Z
  • Small but perfectly formed this cosy caravan is the ideal retreat location for a night or two. Very warm with the log burning going and amenities (max) two minutes walk away. Came home feeling wonderfully rested.

Mill Cottage is next to the running water of the Mill Race with views over beautiful North Cotswolds. It is cosy and warm, and ideally located to arrange a Cotswold holiday or trip to Stratford on Avon. We are under an hour from Cheltenham. Walkers and cyclers are very well served, and there are many lovely country pubs to visit locally. There is also a tennis court which may be used by prior arrangement. The property is edge of village, and within walking distance of a very friendly pub.
Mill Cottage, is adjacent to the Mill House at the edge of the village in the rural North Cotswolds, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It is close to the market towns of Shipston-on-Stour, Chipping Norton, Moreton-in-Marsh and Stow-on-the-Wold. Stratford-on-Avon and Woodstock are only 25 minutes away and Oxford, Cheltenham, Cirencester and Birmingham are all under an hour away. It is a lovely time of year to visit the local National Trust Houses and Gardens.
Feldon Valley Golf Club (OX15 5BB) a 6230 yard Par 71 golf course is less than 5 minutes away The Cotswolds Distillery is in our village and a tour and tasting is not to be missed. (booking advised) For Archers fans, the writers had the villages of Cherington and Stourton in mind when writing about Ambridge, and there are still some characters living here that could be straight out of central casting!
  • Julia has been a great host to my family. We arrived a bit late and it was already dark with no phone service, so she keep reminded us about her GPS accommodation location. Her house was amazing! It was 100% british kind of house that my mom ever wanted to live in. She provided us with homemade jams and it was great! She allowed us to pick as much as apple that we wanted in her apple farm.

  • While travelling in the U.K. from NZ, Mill Cottage was a wonderful break to recharge our batteries. The cottage was well equipped, comfortable, clean and very peaceful. We enjoyed some great days out in the beautiful Cotswolds countryside. Which were all very accessible from Mill Cottage. Also just sitting by the mill stream reading and having a drink was brilliant! Julia was an excellent host and made our stay very enjoyable. So much so that we hope to return one day.

  • We were in the area for a wedding and stayed at Mill Cottage for two nights. It is a lovely cottage in a beautiful setting with everything you need for a comfortable stay - Julia even provided us with some local breakfast goodies which was a really lovely touch. I would definitely recommend staying here if you are visiting the area!

  • Julia’s place was the relaxing, peaceful getaway we needed. Absolutely stunning property, and Julia was a great host. She was very gracious with an extenuating circumstance that caused us to arrive extremely late on check-in day. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay again. Highly recommend!

  • Perfect little bolthole to enjoy the Cotswolds, we loved the beautiful grounds and falling asleep to the sound of the stream. The whole weekend was fab and we can't wait to come back - really appreciated the book with the local walks and the lovely hamper we arrived too.

  • Julia's cottage is a fantastic getaway located in a rural part of the cotswolds. We had a great few days, the setting is lovely, with your own stream and local walks on the doorstep. Julia and her partner are very approachable and helpful with good communication. Yet we still had our own space, I would definitely go back!

A comfortable airy room, stylishly decorated with comfort and relaxation in mind. My place is nestled on the edge of the Cotswolds within the charming village of Long Compton. The local area boasts outstanding views and offers miles of walking footpaths. It is only 5.4 miles to Chipping Norton, a small market town where there is an abundance of shops, restaurants and pubs. Close by are other picturesque Cotswold villages, Blenheim Palace and Daylesford.
Our house has been recently refurbished and offers quiet, airy and relaxed accommodation. The bedroom offers a double bed with ensuite. Guests are able to enjoy a comfortable living room and use of our large garden.
Long Compton is a charming village situated on the edge of the Cotswolds. It is host to a traditional country pub with a roaring fire in the winter and a large beer garden for the summer months. There are many local footpaths accessible from our front door. Alternatively the local area is full of things to do. You could tour the picturesque Cotswold villages, pop into the popular Daylesford Farm Shop, visit Blenheim Palace and it's beautiful gardens or walk the Cotswold way. Chipping Norton is the closest town. It is a quaint Market Town which offers a selection of dining and drinking options for all tastes and has a variety of boutique shops.
  • Lucy's room was perfect. We were after a quiet night away in the countryside that was suitable to take our dog Marvin and this was exactly that. Lucy also gave us great information including a nice walk and where to go for supper. Couldn't ask for more. Thank you for your hospitality. Rachael, Robin and Marvin (the spaniel)

  • We needed some accommodation for the night close to our friend's wedding venue and Lucy's place turned out to be ideal. The room was comfortable, clean and equipped with everything we needed for our stay, including a large en-suite bathroom. Lucy was also flexible regarding our check-in time and was easily contactable both before and during our stay. Would highly recommend if you are looking for accommodation in the area.

  • Lucy's place is set in a picturesque and tranquil countryside location, with the Cotswolds right on the doorstep. The room was spotlessly clean and well furnished, and we particularly enjoyed finding some tasty snacks waiting for us in the room when we got there after a long journey. The shower too was amazing! Really can't fault any aspect of our stay and would gladly return. Thank you!

  • We stayed here after a food festival. Lucy was super helpful during the booking process and made everything easy. The room was clean and well presented, exactly as described. It's a beautiful quiet area, a fab break from the city and quick drive to many of the Cotswolds tourist hot spots.

Not a country cottage so no low ceilings, dark rooms and draughts..just well insulated and thoughtfully designed cabin with large windows to take advantage of the view. Definitely not glamping either- full facilities but slightly quirky in style. Not located on a picture postcard street, just in large garden at end of quiet cul de sac of bungalows so no struggle to find parking as ample space in own courtyard. Priced so I can afford to include all the little extras that guests value.
Visiting on own or as a couple then enjoy Super King bed but easily splits into twins. Space in bedroom for cot and single folding bed or double inflatable mattress available for use in Sitting Room. Might be a bit cosy but great if only for a night or two. I have furnished in shabby chic style but with quality items all repurposed to create comfortable but functional environment. Love this quote left in visitor book "You close the door behind you and you've entered a secluded little retro world" You want a bit of peace and quiet well that is relative as most of my guests are escaping town life so find it very tranquil and scarcely notice road that runs at back of property. Others notice at first but soon realise view is more of a distraction especially when dining alfresco or enjoying the stars due to village Dark Sky status. Do remind guests that will need a torch when walking back from excellent Red Lion as no street lights. Having family members with disabilities I am aware of problems finding suitable accommodation so have designed with that in mind - not the complete set up but Octogenarian wheelchair bound friend stayed and he and wife found perfect for their needs. No sumptuous cottage garden - I'm the gardener so have to be realstic. Managed to save a few mature trees during build process in 2015 and much new planting that will be magnificent in couple of years but in meantime my natural border does include grasses and thistles as after all a weed is only a plant in wrong place and bees and butterflies love. Also have bird feeders and nesting box just outside bedroom window and blue tits particuarly love. Have thought about privacy carefully as their are occupants in main property but layout has been thought through to ensure everyone has own space without infringement on others enjoyment. Have had usual trials with IT but now have cabled connection to router and reliable service. Though most of my guests seem to really enjoy 'turning phones off' and listening to late Aunt's eclectic vinyl collection on multi media player. Similarly there is a TV but not dominant plasma screen just one discreetly tucked into corner. Have had guests for long term stays so always happy to discuss options if you need a base while working away or if between house sales.
Little Bulpits (field for Bulls) was Old English field name of field before development and hence unusual name for this property. Long Compton is a charming Cotswold Village located in Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and excellent walking area (MacMillan Way). On A3400 with Oxford and Stratford on Avon both 20 miles. The Rollright Stones are located on edge of parish. There is a well stocked village shop 5 minutes walk away and popular village pub 10 minutes walk. Local towns are Chipping Norton, Moreton in Marsh and Shipston on Stour. Whichford Pottery, Cotswold Distillery and Hook Norton Brewery located in neighbouring villages. Oxford, Stratford upon Avon, Chipping Campden, Stow on the Wold, Daylesford Farm Shop, Blenheim Palace and Compton Verney Art Gallery are both within half an hours drive
  • Our first time using AirBnB and found an absolute gem. The cabin is fantastic - spacious, warm and has a nicer bathroom than my house. We visited with a one year-old who was fine to run around outside and loved the stay. Excellent host, too with great communication throughout and a well prepared briefing pack inside. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a quiet break.

Kick back as Lord and Lady of the Manor in this fantastically elegant period home. Set within acres of beautifully landscaped gardens, this historic property offers a tranquil base to explore Shakespeare’s country. Property Layout Ground Floor Tucked away in this little explored corner of the Cotswolds and within easy reach of Shakespeare country sits Stourton Manor, a much loved home and piece of living history. Dating from the early 1600s and painstakingly restored by the present owners, it’s a rare privilege to experience such heritage as a guest. Period features abound and impressive inglenooks, original flagstone floors, exposed beams and rarely seen authentic elm panelled walls all combine to create a unique backdrop to your time away with family and friends. An auto gate with intercom to the main house opens on to a gravelled drive bordered by dry stone walls. Follow the drive round the bend with an orchard to your right and lawns to your left as you approach the house where there’s ample parking for at least six cars. Enter the house via the original door – to announce your arrival, pull on the ancient prayer bell. There’s an elegant sitting room and sophisticated library, each with open fires and perfect for pre-dinner drinks and post dinner debates, helped along by the generously stocked drinks trolley in the library. That said, it would be very hard indeed to tear yourself away from the cosy ambiance of the dining hall – if walls could talk! The characterful country kitchen has everything you’ll need to cook up a storm (or have someone else do it). A traditional pantry linking the kitchen to the dining hall, provides ample storage as well as all manner of kitchen paraphernalia and there’s a super warm laundry room on the top floor of the house completing the facilities offered by a contemporary utility room. From the dining room, a door in the panelling opens on to the wooden staircase which is lined with wood panelling and rises and turns in a U shape to the first floor. First Floor The stairs open on to a large landing area with two leather chesterfield sofas and a desk. To the right is the Master Bedroom which sits above the library below and also has a corner fireplace (not used). This is a triple aspect room with cheval mirror, cane sofa and wardrobe. The superking beds sits in front of a wall of original elm panelling and the stately feel is supplemented by sumptuous White Company bed linen. The adjacent Bathroom is divided from the bedroom by the ancient elm panelling. The traditional cast iron claw foot tub has an overhead rain shower complete with curtain on a brass circular pole. The side leaded window has a window seat if you fancy company during your soak. There’s a sink with mirror over and an old fashioned WC with overhead cistern and pull chain. The owners also thoughtfully supply all your bathroom needs with shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, moisturiser, bath oil and bath salts – indulge! Also accessed from the landing is Bedroom Two: this room has a king size bed also backdropped by the antique elm panelling. This is a double aspect room in warm hues of burnt orange and mustard. There’s a chest of drawers, pine wash stand, some old occasional chairs and a wardrobe. Back across the landing is Bedroom Three accessed along a corridor with a bathroom on the left and bedroom 3 ahead of you. The bathroom is capacious with another claw foot tub with telephone style shower attachment, sink and WC. Bedroom Three has a super king bed, exposed beams and an attractive cruck shaped ceiling. There are wall cupboards for storage and a lacquered Chinese cabinet acts as a wardrobe, complemented by the Chinese style bedside tables. Back to the landing area and the middle door opens to a wooden staircase which leads to the second floor. Again, the stairs are wood panelled and rise and turn – they are even and not steep. Second Floor The Family Room, Bedroom Four is immediately at the top of the stairs. This impressive room has an A-frame cruck beam, exposed timbers and a wooden floor. There’s a superking sized french bed, a single bed, a cane sofa, armchair and side table. The white and neutral tones make for a very calming and restful space – the wardrobe is just outside the room at the top of the stairs. Outside the room there’s a galleried style landing area leading to Bedroom Five, a room fit for a princess: there’s a delightful antique four-poster Indian bed, an over-sized single sitting high off the floor and adorned with very pretty linens in cream and gold. There’s a decorative iron fireplace and a school desk with chair. The regal feel is supplemented by the pale tones of the floor rug. There’s a wardrobe for hanging clothes. Back across the landing is the bathroom with wood panelled bath, WC and sink. Adjacent to this is the laundry room which houses all of your wash day accoutrements – washing machine, iron and ironing board and all manner of wash liquids and fabric softener. This room is super toasty and there’s a drying rack facilitating speedy drying of your clothes. Outside For the active, an adjacent barn is a home to a yoga studio with weights, stepper and exercise bike. To make life easy there’s a contemporary shower room so you don’t have to schlep back to the house after your exercise, the shower room also provides handy overflow when bathroom demand in the main house is high. The barn also houses a very spacious games room with board games, billiards table and television/DVD with easy chairs and sofas – an ideal hang out for the teenagers of the family or to cope with different television viewing requirements. As well as being ideally suited to the active with a tennis court and cricket practice facilities, the private, enclosed grounds extend to a few acres and are an horticulturalist’s dream – wander the orchard, pick your own veg in the veg garden and fruit cage, soak up the scents of the rose garden, admire the traditional form of the knot garden and picnic on the vast lawns or amongst the wild flower meadowland. To keep this all in tip-top condition, the gardeners visit twice a week but will work away quietly in the background and not disturb your peace. Need to Know In tribute to its age, the house is sympathetically furnished: you’ll luxuriate in enamelled claw foot tubs, sleep the deepest of sleeps in beds dressed with the finest cottons and linens, relax in comfortable rooms in restful tones with an infusion of colour from warm hued klims and rugs and delight in the eclectic pieces collected by the owners over the years, many reminiscent of faraway cultures. History buffs and culture vultures will delight in this property and for those simply in search of somewhere to hole up, relax and enjoy the creature comforts, fear not, despite its age there are no draughty corridors here, a very warm welcome awaits. All mod cons have been thought of too and there's a full SKY TV package and free wifi available. Since the owners are not resident full time in the UK, such remarkable heritage warrants stewardship and visitors should note that there is an on site guardian. Once initial introductions are complete, this should have little impact on your stay. One well behaved dog welcome. Please note an additional £20 charge applies per dog per stay. A £1,000 refundable security deposit is required for this property.

Long Compton lies at the northern edge of the Cotswold escarpment in South Warwickshire. It nestles in the valley of a tributary to the river Stour. As its name suggests, it is linear in form, stretching for almost a mile along the main road with spurs of development, principally on one side. Long Compton is known for its pretty thatched cottages, warm Cotswold stone walls, ancient church with an unusual lychgate, and above all for its glorious countryside. It is within the boundary of the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Beauty and much of the village is protected by conservation area status. The Village is well situated to visit local towns of historic and special interest such as Chipping Norton, Moreton-in-Marsh, Shipston-on-Stour, Startford-upon-Avon & Stow-on-the-Wold, and also to enjoy walks in the beautiful countrysideincluding the Macmillan Way, and Shakespeare Way. Long Compton remains essentially a farming community. The countryside and landscapes are highly valued by all who are lucky enough to live here. North Cotswolds Whilst the rightly famous and popular towns of the north Cotswolds such as Cheltenham, Broadway, Bourton on the Water or Burford feature in every guidebook, head off the beaten track and you can unearth hidden gems such as Bourton on the Hill or Naunton. Each of the better known market towns such as Chipping Campden, Moreton in Marsh and Stow on the Wold has a cluster of villages around it and these are decidedly Cotswold in character and well worth investigating. Winchcombe is an unspoilt market town set on the Cotswold edge. It’s known as being a centre for walkers and is a great place to base yourself if you want to enjoy the rural Cotswolds. A stay in the north Cotswolds brings Stratford upon Avon and Oxford into perfect range for day visits. You’ll never be short of something to do in the Cotswolds! A visit to the Cotswolds not only allows you to relax and unwind, but also provides the perfect opportunity for you to experience the many things to do and attractions on offer in the beautiful Cotswolds. A day out in the Cotswolds can be as relaxing, or as exciting, and as thrilling, as you want it to be, with a whole host of Cotswolds attractions and Cotswolds leisure activities to keep you entertained. You may choose to wander around Cotswolds historic houses and gardens like Berkeley Castle, Blenheim Palace or Sudeley Castle, or down a glorious avenue of trees at Batsford or Westonbirt Arboretum. The Cotswolds countryside is never too far away from wherever you are, so you can enjoy the variety of outdoor leisure pursuits, as well as just rambling or cycling along at your own pace. If you are looking to keep the kids entertained, then you will be excited to know that there is a lot of choice. There are an abundance of animal attractions like Cotswold Farm Park, where your little ones can get up close and personal with animals, or Cotswold Wildlife Park where you can see a collection of animals and birds from around the world. The Cotswolds has many historical stories to tell, with Cotswolds country houses, castles, churches and amazing heritage tales at the Cotswolds museums and visitor centres. There is also a Cotswold stone model village in Bourton on the Water, and of course a visit wouldn’t be the same without a trip on the Cotswolds heritage steam railway, which departs from Toddington to Cheltenham.
  • This is such a stunning place. The log fire is cosy and a great place to relax and play backgammon. The kitchen is fully equipped and beds comfortable. The cottage is well situated with the Red Lion Inn a mere 15 minute walk down the pavement (book on a Saturday night). We didn’t want to leave- fab place to stay!

  • Absolutely loved this house! We stayed for 3 nights with our 3 year old while also inviting a couple of different couples to come and visit, making use of the handy little annexe. The pictures can’t portray just how beautiful and full of character the cottage is, from the little nooks and crannies housing lovely little decorations to the rickety staircase and various stained glass windows. Our standard day consisted of some walking over the neighbouring hills, finishing at the Red Lion pub which really is a highlight for the village-food was gorgeously tasty with service to match. (Would recommend booking as we struggled to get a table on a Monday eve, that’s how popular this place is!). Went to the Cotswolds Wildlife Park (30 mins away) too which is well worth a visit, especially if you have kids. Overall, a fantastic trip and a wonderful cottage to act as our base, we would definitely return.

  • This cottage feels like travelling back in time. Many of the original features are preserved or restored with a lot of thought. It is also a great base to explore Cotswolds. Communication with Nick was excellent and we received a prompt reply to all our queries.

  • It's a very pretty and convenient cottage. The location is great for exploring the Cotswolds.

  • The cottage is beautiful and located in a quaint little village called Long Compton. It’s just 5 mins walk to a village shop which sells amazing farm products and just 10 mins walk to a pub called The Red Lion which serves excellent food. Cottage was clean and there were logs to make a fire. Only downside was traffic noise from being on a main road. Overall we had a great weekend stay and would recommend!

  • This adorable cottage is so clean and comfortable. It is exactly what we were looking for

  • This is a charming house with some lovely period features. The house is well equipped and of a very high standard and had everything we could have needed for our holiday. There is a nice garden with outdoor seating with the annex across from the garden. The house is situated on a busy road causing some noise but other than that is is a wonderful place to stay.

  • We stayed in Nick's cottage over New Year's and it was just perfect. Perfectly located, we managed to visit several places in the Cotswolds. Nick also gave us some tips that were super helpful. The cottage itself was just perfect, for me the highlights were - the living room with the fireplace. So cozy, perfect size, just a great space to spend evenings with friends - we have a young baby and Nick left us a camp bed so she could sleep comfortably - our friends stayed in the 'detached' space, which meant that they could sleep in and not be woken up early by our baby. And we could also start our day earlier without disturbing them Thank you!!!!

  • Lovely and spacious barn perfect for a quiet and relaxing Cotswolds getaway. Great host, clear directions to the barn were given beforehand and lots of handy leaflets left in the barn. Very peaceful location within driving distance of all the main Cotswolds towns/villages. Beautiful country views from the barn and two friendly horses as neighbours!

  • A lovely place to stay for a weekend or longer. Very homely with everything you need, and great views from all windows. Jude was a fantastic Host, very friendly and helpful. The local pub was great for food and the locals look after you as well. Highly recommend Jude's place.

    Rob2017-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely time at Jude's barn. The place looks bigger and even nicer than in the photos. Everything was so clean and tidy, really well equipped and warm and the towels and bed sheets smelled really lovely. Jude and George were very friendly and helpful, sending us clear directions and all. I'd highly recommend their barn for a nice break in the Cotswold!

  • Although it was a short stay, we enjoyed our time in Cherington and enjoyed the views out to the stables from the barn. We would have liked to have stayed longer! It's a great location and we enjoyed exploring the area.

  • The Barn is a very quite space with very special views out to the Cotswolds. Just as described, very well looked after, warm and homely, making one feel as if you are at home. Great walks locally, excellent choice of food and shops nearby. Super place for a quite get-away.

    Geoff2017-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • Thanks Jude and George for a genuinely warm welcome. The accommodation was even better than it looked on the website. A beautiful location; qùiet and tucked away. A conversion of real quality, tasteful and very comfortable. When we needed to be in touch communication was quick, easy and helpful. Thanks again for your hospitality, we have recommended Cotswold Barn to friends and family. Would be more than happy to return.

Situated in the picturesque and historic village of Long Compton, in an 'area of outstanding natural beauty', fabulous walks are on the doorstep with great views and our highly recommended local pub. Perfectly located for visiting Stratford upon Avon, Oxford and touring the beautiful Cotswolds. We welcome you to our home and to your own grade II listed private thatched annexe with bedroom, living room and sun room for a relaxing and peaceful retreat. Ideal for solo travellers or couples.
This is an eighteenth century thatched annexe to our house on two floors, with own access/front door, living room, bedroom and sun room with beautiful view of the garden and village church. Your own private space (locked door between houses), with TV, wifi and tea and coffee facilities. Due to the age of this part of the house it is quirky and romantic!... the roll top bath, as you will see from the photo, is in the bedroom and there is the addition of an en suite toilet. The loft bedroom has original beams and sloping ceiling to one side. There is a wood-burning stove to enjoy cosy nights by the fire. Continental breakfast is included (there is no extra charge and we're happy to try and accommodate any special requests). There is also a refrigerator for guests to use and we provide crockery, cutlery etc. for eating in and picnics.
Long Compton is a picturesque and historic village on the northern edge of the Cotswolds, perfectly placed for touring all the lovely villages as well as Banbury, Stratford upon Avon, Cheltenham and Oxford being easily accessible. We have a local pub within walking distance that serves excellent food and we are very lucky to have many other great pubs, cafes and restaurants all within a short drive. There is also a village shop and 13th century church with its famous lych gate. There are lots of interesting places to visit very nearby, such as Whichford Pottery, Hook Norton Brewery, the ancient Rollright Stones, Blenheim Palace, Chastleton House, Hidcote Manor and Garden, Daylesford Organic Farm and the Cotswold Distillery.
  • As a small family, we had the most welcoming & enjoyable stay we could wish for. Such a beautiful property & gardens, so relaxing, as soon as you enter the annexe. We cannot fault any part of the property, location & hospitality. Fabulous breakfast included, freshly laid eggs etc. The chickens in the garden & sheep just in the distance were a delight to our 20 month old. A great stay.

  • Where to start?! We just adored Paul and Kate's place. From the moment we met them it was like seeing old friends ... which is exactly what makes Air B n B so great. Kate kindly picked us up from the nearby station and we arrived at the cosiest little private cottage with beautiful views and the sounds of nature. Look out for the front door key - it looks like it's from Harry Potter! Each morning Kate also made us a delicious breakfast to enjoy in the sun room and at night we made ourselves a picnic in front of the wood fire place. Can't wait to go back and was almost tempted not to write a review as I would rather this stays a secret ;-)

  • Stayed here for two days for a short break and some relaxation. The annex was perfect and completely as described: very cosy and comfortable. Inside the annex the facilities were great and well considered - we found everything we needed and more (fresh fruit, biscuits, etc). Kate was a fantastic host and made us feel very welcome throughout our visit. She also makes an amazing breakfast, which was a very welcome bonus! We'd definitely be pleased to recommend the annex to friends or to stay their again ourselves.

    Chris2017-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Wow! Our stay at Kate & Paul's was exceptional. The hosts had thought of every last detail to make our stay as comfortable as possible. We liked how the property was decorated and set out (we especially loved the bath tub in the bedroom!) The welcome pack was detailed and helpful. Kate also left us some yummy biscuits and lay on a wonderful breakfast in the morning. Thank you so much - you have both done a fantastic job at creating a lovely 'home away from home'.

  • An idyllic spot with delightful hosts, Paul and Kate. A really beautiful annex overlooking the garden, with the chickens in the orchard, and sheep in the field beyond. Extremely comfortable, and a very warm welcome. Delicious breakfasts!!

  • We loved our stay in Long Compton. The Airbnb is amazing - I was almost a little nervous that all of the 5 star reviews may be too good to be true but it wasn't - it really is a fantastic flat with lovely little touches that make it the perfect weekend getaway. Few highlights - we really enjoyed having the free standing bath in the bedroom, the bed is super cosy, lovely fireplace to keep you warm, robes and slippers to lounge around in and a lovely pub The Red Lion only a 10 minute walk away. Both Kate and Paul are great, really friendly and make a banging breakfast! I would definitely recommend to anyone and hope to be back in the further

    Amelia2017-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • We would recommend this beautiful cottage to everyone! It is the perfect destination for a relaxing break in the beautiful Cotswolds. Kate and Paul are the most wonderful of hosts (breakfast was provided and it was perfect!) and we will definitely be returning soon :)

Stunning Cotswolds, 18th century farmhouse, flagstones, roaring fires, beautiful views, very comfortable ensuite double bedded room. Delicious full English breakfast with local produce sets you up for the perfect day
Mine Hill House enjoys stunning views over the Cotswolds and sits in a magical position with far ranging vistas.
  • Edward and Hester are wonderful hosts and made us feel very welcome in their charming farmhouse home. The house is stunning - very isolated with sweeping views, a real hidden gem. Inside it is cosy and warm with open fires and a very traditional, British feel. Our bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in. We were welcomed with tea and homemade cakes, and all the food was fabulous. As we had small children, we opted for a home-cooked meal at the farm house after they were in bed and it was delicious. Hester is a fabulous cook and we had the use of a private dining room so it felt like a real 5 star experience! I could not recommend this place more highly.

  • This home must be the most charming place in all of England! They greeted us warmly, made reservations for us at a nearby restaurant, the house was warm and cozy, breakfast was delicious and the most beautiful views of pastures and countryside. We are so happy that we chose to stay here. It is so convenient to quintessential towns in the Cotswolds, Oxford and Stratford Upon Avon. Can't wait to return!

  • We've traveled and stayed at Airbnb locations in Iceland, Costa Rica, Peru and now, the United Kingdom and this was our favorite Airbnb location so far. The house is amazing, Ed and Hester couldn't be friendlier or more hospitable and the accommodations and breakfast were second to none. Our kids loved their space in the "secret room" and our bed was made even more comfortable with large comforters and heated blankets. Our only regret is that we couldn't stay longer. If we go back to England, we'll definitely make a point of staying with Ed and Hester again.

  • We loved our time in the Cotswolds. The house is on a beautiful property. Edward, Hester & the whole family were extremely welcoming & helpful. They gave us great advice for dinner & helped us to book it. We wished we could have stayed longer. Our daughter loved her cubby house room, which was delightful. It was a real treat for her with the animals also.

The Dingle nature-lover’s paradise in the heart of a working stud farm. Perfect for walkers, cyclists and people who love to horse ride; there are many public footpaths, cycle paths and bridleways that criss-cross straight through the grounds and take guests to the Cotswold Way and the Rollright Stones.
An enchanting nature-lover’s paradise in the heart of a working stud farm, ideal for families in search of a true home-away-from-home in the country. Introduction Amidst the idyllic rolling valleys and lush woodland of the eastern Cotswolds’ AONB you’ll find The Dingle; a traditional farm cottage tucked away amidst 450 acres of beautiful farmland, just a stone’s throw from the famed market town of Chipping Norton. Lovingly converted by owner Marilyn with impressive attention to detail, this cosy hideaway is a true nature lover’s paradise, offering guests a warm and welcoming escape with little around to disturb the peace (aside from the friendly equine neighbours). Spread mostly across one level, this country-chic cottage boasts traditional interiors with plenty of nods to the surrounding Cotswold landscape; picture exposed Cotswold stone walls, recycled oak beams (sourced directly from the Estate) and flagstone flooring throughout. A sizeable open-plan living and dining space, centred around a commanding fireplace, offers plenty of space in which to unwind, with a well-equipped kitchen and al-fresco dining area, complete with BBQ and smoker grill, making catering for groups as easy as pie. 7 spacious bedrooms, including a handy separate annex, sleep up to 12 comfortably; if necessary there is a double sofa bed in the living room. All configurable to suit sleeping arrangements. Guests of all ages will love exploring the farm and heading off on one of the many beautiful countryside walks available from the doorstep, before heading back to the cottage to unwind in the outdoor hot tub, fed by the farm’s own spring water source. Best of all, The Dingle is located in a designated Dark Sky Discovery Site, making it the perfect getaway for stargazers. The Living Space Enter through the cottage’s traditional flagstone-tiled hallway and you’ll find the heart of the home: a vast, open-plan living space comprised of a well-equipped kitchen, no fewer than two dining spaces and a cosy living area with seating a-plenty. The quirky, country-style kitchen offers all you’ll need for a self-catered stay including a double oven, electric hob, microwave, dishwasher and American-style fridge freezer, with one-of-a-kind lava (yes, lava) worktops, deep Belfast sinks and tranquil garden views. Leading on from the kitchen are two separate dining tables each seating 10 – 12; close enough for joint dinners, yet far enough away to give multi-generational groups some space if things get too noisy. From there, the room opens-up into a spacious living area complete with sink-in sofas, TV and DVD player, plus French doors opening out directly onto the cottage’s panoramic garden. The true centrepiece of the living space comes in the form of a vast floor-to-ceiling fireplace; a real labour of love from owner Marilyn, who built it herself creatively using reclaimed Cotswold stone - rescued from Oxford Castle – and genuine Tudor brick. Eagle-eyed guests will love admiring the fireplace’s unique decoration, so be sure to keep eyes peeled for the Victorian carriage lamps, cast-iron pans and even the odd dinosaur head or two. Just off the living space also sits a cosy snug with French doors into the garden; a quiet, concealed corner to escape the hubbub and sit back with a good book (or enjoy an afternoon snooze). The cottage also homes its own ‘Tudor Stable’: a conjoined annex area complete with living area, dining table, small but well-equipped kitchen complete with hob/oven and a petite bath and shower room. Perfect for grandparents, teens or private couples, the annex homes two bedrooms and private access to the garden, making it ideal for those in search of a little R&R away from the group. Shabby-chic in style, the annex’s exposed brick walls, colourful rugs and Cotswold-green stable doors offer a traditional farmhouse feel. Guests should keep eyes peeled for the subtle homage to one of the building’s most famous residents - a WWI work horse – whose bridle takes pride of place on the wall. Bedrooms 7 characterful bedrooms can be found across the cottage’s ground and first floors, each easily configurable to suit any number of sleeping arrangements. Bedrooms 5 & 6 can either be accessed via the separate entrance to the rear of the property or via bedroom 4. To make bedroom 4 private, just shut the door between bedroom 4 and 5 and access bedroom 4 via the hallway (same as bedrooms 1, 2 & 3). Bedroom 1 Just down the hallway from the open-plan living area is bedroom one, a well-sized super-king room ideal for couples or friends bunking in together. Décor embodies country-chic, with flagstone flooring, white-washed walls and handmade curtains, whilst the sink-in super-king bed can easily be configured as a twin should you need. Just down the hallway from Bedroom 1 is the shared family bathroom, complete with spacious shower, traditional cast-iron bathtub and attractive Fired Earth tiles, with cleverly concealed fossils dating back thousands of years adorning the walls. Bedroom 2 The master bedroom of the house, Bedroom 2 boasts plenty of space, glorious garden views and a handy en-suite shower room, perfect for couples wanting a little privacy. There’s a zip and link super-kingsize bed, configurable as a twin if needed, plus a large oak dressing table for morning preening. We love the subtle nods to exotic India in the décor of this room; be sure to spot the handmade silk curtain ties, colourful cupboard and bespoke mosaic glass window, hand-crafted by the owner. Bedroom 3 Just next door from the master bedroom, Bedroom 3 is great for adults and children alike, housing a zip and link super-kingsize bed for changeable sleeping arrangements. With the same Cotswold country themed décor of the rest of the house, guests will find flagstone flooring and attractive oak furniture inside, with the shared family bathroom located just across the hall. Bedroom 4 Great for younger guests or adults who don’t mind a bit of a squeeze, Bedroom 4 acts as a jack-and-jill space between the main house and its annex. With a comfortable day bed, the space can be transformed into a room for two thanks to an additional pull-out single. We love the quirky décor touches from the owner in here; keep eyes peeled for the original stable door and rescued oak curtain box, sourced from one of the farm’s many woodland areas. Annex Bedroom 5 Tucked away on the other side of the cottage through Bedroom 4 are two further rooms, configured within the cottage’s ‘Tudor Stable’ annex. Bedroom 5 sits within the annex’s living area and offers a double sofa bed, plus a TV, dining table and direct access to the kitchen, so is best used by younger guests or single travellers who don’t mind a little less privacy. Bedroom 6 Bedroom 6 is the cottage’s romantic hideaway, tucked away on the other side of the annex’s living space. Traditional green barn doors make up one wall of the bedroom and flood the room with light, whilst the sink-in super-kingsize bed, configurable as a twin, offers a comfy resting spot for couples or friends who don’t mind getting close. The annex’s petite bathroom, complete with toilet, bath and full-height shower head, can also be found just along the hallway. Bedroom 7 Ideal for mini adventurers or adults who don’t mind sharing, Bedroom 7 is found up a winding metal staircase in the cottage’s main living area. A converted attic space, guests have a small landing and triple bedroom with three single beds to make use of, plus a handy en-suite shower room and toilet. Bright skylights offer beautiful countryside views of the surrounding fields, plus the ideal vantage point to watch the farm’s own Connemara ponies grazing. What’s Outside Fresh air and outdoor adventures aplenty await outside the cottage door thanks to its prime position smack bang in the middle of 450 acres of beautiful, rolling farmland. A wrap-around garden cocoons the cottage itself, more patio and pot-plants than lawn, with a spacious outdoor dining area complete with two dining tables, gas BBQ and smoker grill for some seriously tasty al fresco feasts. Tucked away down a rustic stone stairway just across the driveway sits a beautiful hidden garden: a verdant, green paradise perched alongside a babbling stream from which the cottage gets its name. Guests are more than welcome to explore the acres of farmland surrounding the property, too. Kids will love meeting the farm’s friendly horses and rare-breed sheep, with guided tours of the farm available with owner Marilyn by prior arrangement. With an almost unending landscape of vibrant, wooded valleys surrounding the farm and multiple public pathways criss-crossing the land, you’re spoilt for choice when it comes to areas to stretch your legs, be it on foot, by bike or by horse. A true paradise for lovers of the great outdoors. Facilities Dog-friendly Parking on Premises (for up to 4 cars) Hot Tub Indoor Fireplace / Wood Burner Wireless Internet Utility Room (Washer/Dryer/Airer) Gas BBQ Outdoor Smoker Grill Outdoor Dining Area Iron Baby Cot High Chair 4 Bathrooms 7 bedrooms Dishwasher On-Site Horse Stabling Available Local Amenities As with all rural hideaways, local amenities do involve a short drive. Wyatt’s Farm Shop – a short stroll over farmland from the cottage or a 2-minute drive- stocks fridge and store-cupboard essentials along with some great local produce. Sainsbury’s in Chipping Norton (10-minute drive) is the nearest supermarket where you’ll likely find everything you need for your stay, with a Stow-on-the-Wold (20-minute drive) offering further choice with a well-stocked Tesco and Marks and Spencer service station. We’d recommend a grocery delivery during your stay at the Dingle; Ocado, Sainsbury’s and Tesco all offer delivery to the door. If you’d prefer to leave the chore of cooking at home, takeaway-lovers are also well catered for in Chipping Norton with Indian, Italian and Chinese on offer. Great Rollright is perfect for star-gazing, painting, walking, cycling and general outdoor activity. It is close to Chipping Norton which has many shops, restaurants, bars and is famous for Pantomime! Eating The famed Cotswold market town of Chipping Norton is just a 10-minute drive away and the perfect place to head for a bite to eat. For an upmarket feast, we recommend heading to Wild Thyme on New Street, a Michelin-recommended gem run by husband and wife team Nick and Sally, serving up fresh, seasonal produce with a focus on local. The recently refurbished The Fox on Market Place offers honest pub grub in sleek surroundings, whilst wine-lovers should head to Winebear on West Street for a tipple; a wine merchant-come-wine bar, and a great spot for an early evening drink. For earlier diners, The Tea Set on the high street is the hottest new kid in town; a new-age Cotswold tea room and café with numerous awards already under its belt. Outside of Chipping Norton, the Red Lion at Long Compton is another Michelin Guide favourite and just a 4-minute drive from the cottage. A former coaching inn, this historic foodie haven serves up a seasonal menu of pub classics and more adventurous specials, plus there’s a great garden and play area for younger guests to enjoy. Nearby Wyatt’s Farm Shop also houses a traditional garden nursery café and is just a short stroll over farmland from the cottage. Walking The Dingle is a true walker’s paradise thanks to the multiple public footpaths that cross through the grounds. Spend your days exploring the incredible valleys, woodland and lakes which surround the farmland, keeping your eyes peeled for the Estate’s famous White Willow Trees, renowned for creating the best cricket bands in the country, and watercress beds dotted around the farmland. Shakespeare’s Way, a dedicated 146-mile walking route charting a path between Shakespeare’s birthplace of Stratford-Upon-Avon and his beloved Globe Theatre also passes through the grounds, making it this the ideal base for those wanting to follow it to nearby Chipping Norton (3 miles) or further afield. The old pilgrimage route to the ancient Rollright Stones, a prehistoric stone circle, also passes through the farm’s upper fields and is well worth a visit. Must-Sees The Cotswolds’ many market towns and villages are on your doorstep here, so you’re spoiled for choice when it comes to must-visits thanks to the likes of nearby Burford, Witney, Moreton-in-Marsh and Stow-on-the-Wold. A visit to celeb-favourite Chipping Norton (10-minute drive) and its fantastic independent stores, eateries and farmer’s market (the third Saturday of every month) is a must; just be sure to keep your eyes peeled for the A-listers and former politicians who like to call the town home. Beer-lovers shouldn’t be without a day trip to Hook Norton Brewery in Banbury (10-minute drive) where you can see the brewing process at first hand with a brewery tour, whilst green-fingered guests may be interested in heading to Whichford Pottery (5-minute drive) to visit the home of the renowned flower pots. World famous Blenheim Palace is just a 20-minute drive from the cottage, offering a fantastic day out for guests of all ages, with a trip to Bicester Village Designer Outlet (40-minute drive) a sure-fire way to keep teens happy. Younger ones will love Chipping Norton’s Fairytale Farm and its exciting adventure playground, sensory attractions and friendly farm animals. The Horse Farm The Dingle is situated on a busy working stud farm, with owner Marilyn a world-renowned event trainer. By prior arrangement, guests are welcome to bring their horse(s) along with them to enjoy the many bridle paths that cross the farmland, with opportunities to take part in riding schools, training and group hacks also available at an additional cost.
  • We, 3 families with 5 kids, had a good time staying in this spacious, clean and loverly house, being able to see the beautiful valley fields, and getting chance to see the elegant course in the farm. The neighbourhood is very quiet with reasonable distance to buy grocery for a group of people. Although we faced some challenges on the bathrooms at the beginning, they all got resolved nicely after we communicated with the owner. If the Internet speed can be upgraded to the next level, it will become a dream house for a vacation stay. Highly recommended.

  • The Dingle is a beautiful property set up perfectly for a group of families to stay together and relax. A weekend just wasn't long enough to enjoy the beautiful surroundings! Cotswold Wildlife Park was only about half an hour away and was a brilliant day out for the children (and adults).

  • Comfortable family home in a beautiful location. Excellent communication throughout. We had a great mid week break!

  • Nice quiet place to stay, a little TLC needed in places. Good internet but no mobile phone signal on EE, however there is a working landline. We used bottled water for cooking, making tea and drinking.

  • Amazing stay. Great location. The hostess was lovely and the property is as nice as it looks in the photos. All round great stay.

  • The house is large and quirky, in a beautiful location. It is quite a dark house, but there are a lot of great things about it too. We did discover a few niggles with appliances etc which we have reported - I'm sure they will be fixed promptly. Martin was always very quick to respond to enquiries and a helpful contact. Overall my friends and I had a fun weekend.

  • We spent a very pleasant weekend at The Dingle for a catch up with a large group of friends. The house was clean and spacious with a well stocked kitchen and the use of the hot tub was great. All the bedrooms were comfortable and bathrooms clean. The house is literally in the middle of the Cotswolds so in beautiful surroundings. The wifi connection is not great so be aware of this if you are wanting to stream music etc. Other than that, a great place to stay!

  • Highly recommend this for large groups of friends or family, great space for all to enjoy in an amazing location.

    - The cottage has on-street parking across the road from the house. - There are 2 bedrooms on the first floor, 1 with a king-size bed and the other a single bed. They are right next to the bathroom (which has a bath with an electric shower over it). - To reach the bedroom and bathroom, you will need to climb the stairs. - There is also a double sofa-bed in the sitting room.

  • Elizabeth's place was really quirky, incredibly cosy (lovely log burner!) and one of the best equipped places I've ever stayed. Communication and welcome from Elizabeth was outstanding. Hook Norton is a lovely little place too.

  • This is a lovely cottage, very warm and cosy, everything you could want and right in the centre of Hook Norton. Loved this cottage and slept like a baby.

  • The tiny Daisy Cottage's interesting period features are given added depth of character by Elizabeth's artful touches. I absolutely loved my stay here which began with a warm and friendly welcome from Elizabeth who is a diligent hostess. She made sure I knew where everything was and, even though she was three miles away, I felt as though she was ready to help with anything that I may have needed. I look forward to returning...

  • Elizabeth's cottage is absolutely charming - very cosy and comfortable. It was refreshing to stay in an actual home! We were three ladies on a birthday jaunt from London looking for some country air and a change of scene, and found it suited is perfectly. The village itself is very pretty and quaint, and we also had an outstanding meal at The Sun, which is short walk down the road. I'd heartily recommend staying at Elizabeth's cottage - a lovely slice of country life.

    Natalie 2017-12-09T00:00:00Z
  • A charming cottage that is full of character and shows signs of the interesting life of its owner, Elizabeth. The cottage was well equipt and clean and is located conveniently for the village's amenities. I stayed with two friends, and we walked to the Rollright Stones and on to Chipping Norton on a 20km route that takes in several typical Cotswold villages and vistas. Our host was very helpful in the week leading up to our stay and provided lots of information about the local area, food, and pubs. The cottage is a good base for a weekend away in the countryside from London and is only a 20-minute taxi ride from Banbury train station so is an easy spot to reach on a Friday evening.

Cotswold stone, wooden beams, comfy beds and a log-burner fire in a 17th Century cottage. Dog and child friendly, a welcome haven awaits on return from one of the many walks or days out available in this stunning Cotswold countryside.
Milestones is set in the heart of the North Cotswold village of Long Compton, only 5 minutes walk from the award-winning Red Lion pub, and surrounded by complete tranquility. 2 bedrooms sleeping 5 in total (including a small sofa bed), 3 toilets, a bath and a shower. Downstairs is a spacey lounge with log-burner fire, a well supplied kitchen with dining table, and a utility room with washing machine and drying area. Milestones has an enclosed garden with lawned area and patio with garden furniture plus a gas BBQ. Enough off-road parking space for 3 cars if needed. Leave the cars there whilst you set off on foot, exploring the stunning countryside.
The historic village of Long Compton lies in a valley within the Cotswold Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The gentle rolling hills surrounding the village. It is a designated Dark Sky Area. So no street lights, enabling, on clear nights, to see the sky covered in the most beautiful stars with little or no light pollution. Milestones is located in a quiet residential road, but within an easy stroll of our wonderful village stores, five minutes walk from the hubbarb of the popular Red Lion Inn, ancient Church and Village Hall. There are also an increasing number of small local businesses tucked away in unexpected places: a bridal shop, handmade furniture maker, hairdressers, carpenter, plus more.
  • The house is beautiful, the village is wonderful and we couldn't have asked for a better place to stay!

  • We stayed for a midweek with 2 children in july. We received a warm welcome from Melanie with lots of tips about the region and surounding. The authentic cottage has a warm and cosy feeling with every luxury for a family week out. Long Comptom is a perfect starting point for the region.

  • I wanted a quiet weekend away with my sons and in an area that was particularly important to me from a family history perspective. Long Compton, and milestones cottage, did not disappoint - at all. My only regret was that it was just a weekend. I hope to return again soon - why go anywhere else when i can go here?

  • We stayed for the weekend and really enjoyed the beautiful cottage. Very well equipped and the tea, coffee and fresh milk in the fridge was a lovely touch. The January weather was as expected but it didn’t spoil our weekend. The local area is beautiful with lots to do and see. The cottage has plenty of space and was just what we hoped it would be. Typical Cotswold charm! We hope to visit again in the summer to enjoy the local woods and walks.

The living/dining area is open plan and there is a fully equipped kitchen. Upstairs is a bathroom with a shower over the bath and a generous sized double bedroom with its own dressing room. Currently we have two single beds pushed together. (a king size double bed is currently on order!). The décor throughout is neutral and calm. It has everything you could need to have great stay. In the living room there is a sofa bed which makes into a double bed. We are happy for you to use it - just let us know so that we can provide additional bedding.
The village is a truly lovely spot. It is a great place to use as a base to explore the stunning Cotswolds and the surrounding area. There is a well stocked village shop and Post Office together with three pubs within walking distance that all serve food. The famous Victorian Hook Norton Brewery is a great place to visit and only about a 10 minutes walk. Hook Norton is on the edge of the Cotswolds and is only a short drive through the beautiful countryside to villages like Stow-on-the-Wold, Burford and Bourton-on-the-Water. There are plenty of wonderful National Trust properties to explore nearby including Upton House, Waddesdon Manor, Snowshill Manor, Chastleton House, Hidcote and Charlecote Park. The area is absolutely superb for cycling and walking as there are many small villages and interesting places to explore.
  • This property was perfect, spotlessly clean and Caroline provides a great welcome pack. We would definitely stay here again.

  • Caroline could not have been more welcoming, friendly and helpful. We were very late arriving and she even offered us dinner!! Her place is spotlessly clean and very cosy, bed was so comfy I even looked to see what make the mattress was so I can replace my own at home! Towels and bedding are all provided, along with toiletries ie shampoos ect. She had provided us with essentials, bread, milk, eggs, cereals, tea, coffee, and even 2 bottles of the locally brewed beer.. Which you can visit the brewery and take a tour, worth a visit whilst in the area. (Just around the corner). Great location in the village. 3 lovely traditional local pubs in the village within walking distance, with good food. Caroline could not have done more to make her place better...perfect stay! And her dog is adorable!! Would highly recommend, we will stay next time we visit family.

  • We were made to feel most welcome in this great accommodation. All you would need to provide a restful, relaxing stay with Caroline and Simon. Would absolutely recommend to anybody looking for somewhere to stay around Chipping Norton/Hook Norton.

  • When the founders of AirBnB created their concept, they must have hoped for people like Caroline and places like Maythorne Lodge as it delivered 100%. A real home from home in a beautiful part of the world. The welcome, facilities, breakfast provisions etc. cannot be faulted. I really can't think of one thing that could have been done better. So much better than a hotel - I'm sure we'll be back!

  • We had a lovely stay. Caroline and Simon were lovely people and very kind and helpful giving us valuable information about the village and transport. It is a lovely little home from home equipped with everything you could possibly need, situated in a beautiful little village with a comprehensive village shop. It is a perfect base to explore the Cotswolds. With it being self contained you could come and go as you please without disturbing anyone.

  • We really enjoyed our stay with Caroline in Hook Norton. Our hosts responded immediately to a last minute booking request, were friendly and helpful and also flexible on arrival time which is good if you are travelling a distance. The accommodation was exactly as described, clean, well laid out and was a perfect home from home. Everything you could need for a short break was provided including provisions for breakfast! The location was great and there are numerous picturesque villages to explore. I would have no hesitation in recommending as a great base to explore the Cotswolds.

A Victorian old Glebe Barn, converted with a contemporary twist. Vicarage Barn enjoys breath-taking landscapes in rolling AONB countryside, just outside the conservation village of Long Compton in the heart of the south Warwickshire Cotswolds.
  • Beautifully converted and appointed barn in a fantastic location. Lovely big windows let in the light and the views. Plenty of space for two couples or a family. Our host was very responsive, helpful, and friendly. We'd love to come back!

It's hard to do justice to it, but they have done such an incredible job in designing the space and equipping it to ensure your stay is as comfortable and relaxing as possible. Could not recommend this place highly enough!

  • Perfect Cotswold getaway. Cute cottage with pretty much everything you need - really well looked after, and clean. There is a pub two mins up the road that serves food. The (only) local Shop is also minutes away. Steve has thought of everything - milk, butter, jam and orange juice thoughtfully in the fridge. A bowl of Victoria plums and some cake welcomed us. There is info on all the local attractions in the cottage folder which pretty much sorts your weekend itinerary for you. We can't wait to go back!

  • Hi, loved the stay and would definitely recommend and return. The finishing touches were very welcoming and the cottage was sparkling clean. Quick communication too! Location is great- central to the village and other walks and towns nearby to explore- and plenty of parking in the streets around. Beautiful village location. Kitchen was very easy to use and the cottage warmed up to be really toasty and made for a couple of lovely cosy evening. Thank you!

  • My sister -in-law had a very warm & comfortable stay in the cottage. Difficult to comment on anything else as she spent most of her time with us. Steve was very accommodating when she needed to stay an extra night.

    David2017-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely faultless start to finish. Very clean, great position, reasonable price and the little touches (pastries / fresh orange etc) as well as going above and beyond on toiletries and kitchen utensils (spice rack / oil / tea / coffee / milk) really do make all of the difference. One of the best Airbnb stays we’ve had and we try and do 4-6 per year. If you want a nice little countryside break with lots on offer, go and stay here! Perfect setting, only a short walk to the pub, lots to do in the surroundings and beautiful countryside helps! Pre booking recommended for gin distillery and brewery tour. Both well worth a visit. Castle was lovely to walk round although it was closed September onwards. Would highly recommend this place to stay and would definitely return. 5 STARS from us. Thanks again Steve!

    Lindsay2017-11-06T00:00:00Z
  • The communication from Steve was brilliant from the beginning with all of my Questions answered, we were even able to check in early! Really luxurious bedding, the kitchen was very well equipped for cooking a full meal. The whole place was very clean and the breakfast that was provided was great. The area is really beautiful and it made for a perfect relaxing get away, the local area info provided was really helpful. I would definitely return and really recommend ‘The Cottage’ and Steve.

    Tilly2017-11-23T00:00:00Z
  • This is a charming little cottage in the very centre of Hook Norton. The entire building is very clean and well equipped, including some basic supplies in the kitchen that allow you to prepare and cook your own food without having to pay for essentials such as oil, milk, seasoning; coffee and tea. Steve and his family have thought of wonderful little touches to make The Cottage feel like it’s you’re your own space rather than an Air BnB — for me this included a slice of Christmas cake (due to my check in time), a greetings card and a hefty supply of cereal, after I mentioned I had enjoyed the Cocoa Pops they’d left for me in the cupboard. Given the building’s age, it is naturally very cold in the winter, but the central heating throughout the space (1 radiator in every room) turns it into a toasty, cozey place to get out of the country weather. The hot water is on a timer (3 hours in the morning and 3 in the evening), so it cannot be used throughout the day, but you quickly become accustomed to timing your uses. If you’re not familiar with induction hobs, the digital hob top can be a little confusing at first and I could not find a manual in the welcome pack. However, the trusty WiFi at the cottage meant that I could find the manual online: touch the power button on the hob’s surface, then hold down the key symbol until the unit beeps and unlocks the controls; after this just select the hob you want to use and press the + or - button to set the heat. The village is charming, but it has very few amenities (post office with grocery store, two pubs, a brewery and a butcher). The Cottage’s location is so central that you can walk to most of these amenities in under 1 minute — 10 minutes to the furthest. Should you require anything beyond these services during your time in Hook Norton, ensure you have a car, or are prepared to pay for taxis or the infrequent busses. If you’re traveling to Hook Norton from Banbury, book a taxi in advance, rather then taking one from the line outside the station — the former have a fixed rate, whereas the latter use a meter and can cost nearly double the price of other companies in the area. If you are planning on spending some time in the Oxfordshire countryside and are looking for a place to call home for a short time, I couldn’t think of a better place to stay than The Cottage at Hook Norton.

Bedroom 2 has access to bathroom 2 (see below), enabling it to be used as an en-suite bathroom, if desired; Bedroom 3: Bunk beds and a chest of drawers; Bathroom 1: Newly refurbished, with a bath (with shower attachment), toilet and washbasin; Bathroom 2: A newly built shower room, with toilet and washbasin. This “Jack & Jill” bathroom can be accessed from the landing or from bedroom 2, allowing it to be either a shared bathroom or bedroom 2’s en-suite bathroom. Returning downstairs, the enclosed patio and raised rear garden (with a very low wall on the side of the garden that adjoins the neighbour) is accessed either from the entrance hall, or via double French windows from the main living room. The sheltered garden has a patio, barbecue area and small lawn, with views towards the church tower.
The Cotswolds are characterised by attractive small towns and villages, built of the underlying Cotswold stone (a yellow oolitic limestone). In the Middle Ages the wool trade made the Cotswolds prosperous and some of this money was put into the building of churches, leaving the area with a number of large handsome Cotswold stone "wool churches". The area remains affluent, which has encouraged the establishment of many high quality pubs, restaurants and antique shops.

Light, clean, newly-developed semi-detached holiday cottage in the heart of the Cotswolds. Set down a drive in the middle of fields, it forms the end section of a barn conversion. It has separate off-road parking and access too.
Our one bedroom cottage has a bathroom attached to it upstairs and a spacious living/dining area downstairs. The top quality super king bed is dressed with Egyptian cotton White Company sheets. There is a large kitchen with fridge/freezer, electric cooker/hob, dishwasher and washing machine. We are situated down a 300m drive off the road and we are a two minute drive to Chipping Norton.
Guddlebrook is in a very central and convenient location; we are equidistant between Soho Farmhouse and Daylesford Organic Farm Shop - ten minutes from each. Shakespeare’s home of Stratford is a 35 minute drive, whilst Cheltenham and Oxford are both 40 minutes max in the car. There is a huge choice of delicious restaurants at every turn, like the acclaimed Kingham Plough and the Wild Rabbit, both up the road and wonderful shopping in towns like Stow-on-the-Wold (15 mins) and Burford (20 mins). For spoiling trips have a look around the Burford Garden Company and afterwards head next door to marvel at the African animals at the Cotswold Wildlife Park!
  • Beautiful house owned by amazing family with outstanding hospitality putting up with my late working hours. Has everything you could ask for. In a beautiful location would definetly stay again !

Our home is a lovely detached bungalow in Hook Norton, a cotswolds village with its own brewery and two pubs that serve delicious food. Hook Norton is located 5 miles from Chipping Norton, 8 miles from Banbury, and a short drive to Burford and Stow in the Wold. The bedroom is a calming, comfortable double room with a shower room, for guest use only, located across the hallway. We provide yummy breakfasts consisting of local fresh eggs, an array of teas, cereals, juices and fresh coffee.
We are located in a very peaceful village which is only 15 minutes from Banbury train station which provides access to,London in under an hour. I can chauffeur to and from the station for a small fee if required. We are a family of three and enjoy welcoming new people into our home.
Hook Norton has two pubs, both serve food, a world famous brewery and the village is close to Chipping Norton, Burford, Oxford and Banbury train station which provides swift access to London. The village is picturesque and is excellent for walkers.
  • Lovely welcome; friendly hosts; excellent location.

  • We really enjoyed our stay here. From start to finish Crona and family were excellent hosts. After greeting us on Friday evening Crona has booked a table at the local pub for dinner which was lovely. Showed us where everything was and made us feel comfortable and at home. The pictures do not do the place justice- it's a stunning house and comfortable room. We slept really well and the following morning had a really nice breakfast , we could not want for nothing. Little touches like fresh towels, water in the room and chocolates were lovely. It is a beautiful quiet location in a lovely village and was just what we needed for us to get on our way the following day. We wish we could have stayed longer! Thank you

  • We have just come back from our lovely stay at Cow View. Crona and Matt are so friendly and made us feel incredibly welcome. The room is comfortable and the breakfast was plenty for our 10k mud race later that afternoon! (Matt makes great scrambled egg). Also the surrounding area is beautiful: we had a meal in the Gate pub on the Saturday night, just a 20 minute walk from the house (quiet but good food) and did a 6 mile circular walk from basically the back of the house, taking in rolling hills and a bluebell wood. It was our first airbnb experience and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Thanks again. Lorna and Dan

  • Crona is the perfect host, the house is lovely, the room is tidy and clean, the breakfast fabulous! She gave us lots of good adivices about the places to discover around hook norton, a small paradise in the countryside. I hope to come back one day!

  • We had an excellent stay! The hosts are very kind and friendly. The room is fantastic, comfortable and we had a great sleep. Couldn't ask for anything more! Highly recommend.

    Rob2017-04-30T00:00:00Z
  • Great hosts that made us really feel welcome and at home. The location is perfect if you have a car, as there is so much to do in the Cotswolds. Crona and Matt recommended a pub nearby with good food and real ale, and helped us pick things to do the next day. We ended up watching a football match played in a river in Bourton-on-the-Water, and going strawberry picking. There are also a lot of great hiking routes in the area.

    Stephen2016-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • Crona was a fantastic host! She was incredibility welcoming and hospitable. A genuinely friendly person and an absolute pleasure to meet. She went above and beyond to ensure my husband and I had a great experience in the Cotswolds. She offered plenty of sightseeing hints and tips e.g recommending the Red Lion (Bloxham) for dinner, as well as visiting the Rollright Stones (Chipping Norton) and the Old Mill (Lower Slaughter). Her house was lovely and the breakfast was beautifully presented, the scrambled eggs were superb! The house is a short walk from the village shop and local pubs including The Sun Inn and the lovely Pear Tree Inn. Don't forget to visit the Hook Norton Brewery, advance booking required.

  • This was our first Air BnB experience and it was fab. We chose Cow View to be nearer to Blenheim Palace for an event the following day. As a family, Crona, Matt and Annie made us very welcome from the moment we arrived and are the most genial, friendly, and helpful people; it was as if we had known one another for years. A super bungalow in a lovely quiet, residential setting in a beautiful village in a picturesque part of the UK. We enjoyed a comfortable, restful night’s sleep and a fantastic breakfast to set us up for our day. Exceptional value and highly recommended.

Rose Cottage is a pretty 18th Century cottage located in a beautiful Cotswold village with great pubs and an original Victorian brewery within walking distance. It is full of features that provide a charming atmosphere including wood burner.
This is an ideal location for exploring the pretty Cotswold villages and towns along with Oxford, Shakespeare’s Stratford, and the myriad of activities and attractions within the area available all year round. The cottage sits on a country lane that turns into a path which goes down to the pretty stream that meanders its way through the village.
The delightful village has it’s own very well known Victorian brewery and visitors centre, and is surrounded by Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There is a thriving large village shop and post office. From the village there are plenty of walks (The D'arcy Dalton Way runs nearby) and cycle rides in and around the Village, with many more pub-related ones published in the local CAMRA monthly magazine. The main village pub is just a stone's throw from the cottage and has a great chef and a regularly changing menu. With two other pubs in the Village and the Visitor Centre at the Brewery where you can sample the famous Hooky Ales, you will be spoilt for choice with places to eat and drink (all have roaring fires in the winter!). Further afield Bicester Village designer outlet site provides sufficient retail therapy for most people. Soho Farmhouse is ten minutes drive from the cottage.
  • We had an absolutely brilliant stay at Rose Cottage, which is a gorgeous home and great base for exploring a beautiful part of the country. Access was easy and when we arrived there was a lovely cake waiting for us. Such a nice touch. Couldn't recommend Hugh and Rose Cottage more highly.

  • Great location in the centre of Hooky, with easy access to a couple of great pubs and a well stocked village shop. The house is compact but has everything that you need. There was good communication from the host and gaining access to the property was hassle free. We all enjoyed the tranquility of the village and the boys loved the play park, behind the church.

    Matt2017-04-14T00:00:00Z
  • A great place as a base to explore the Cotswolds - fantastic brewery on the doorstep as well.

    Trevor2017-05-16T00:00:00Z
  • Very cozy, lovely cottage in a wonderful village that was fun to explore. The host was very accommodating and broke apart the two king beds into twins for us. The cottage is down a narrow lane with no turn around, so if you don't feel comfortable backing up for a long distance, park on the main road. A great place to stay and explore the Cotswolds.

    Anna2016-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay in Hook Norton. Hugh let us in early after we arrived sooner than expected which was much appreciated. The cottage is perfect for four for a few days. The village is great and a brewery tour is recommended.

    Claire2016-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • Nice cottage in a gorgeous little village. Well equipped and close for exploring Cotswolds and Oxford. If you are elderly or have small kids i would not recommend as the stairs are very steep.

Situated in small rural village 12 miles from Stratford upon Avon, ideal for sight seeing, country walks or just relaxing. Large private apartment on two levels (within detached house), consisting of a ground floor double bedroom and shower room; and an upstairs single bedroom, small lounge/breakfast room and toilet. Microwave, Mini fridge and tea/coffee facilities (no kitchen access). The village has pubs which do meals. Also the nearby town of Shipston has several pubs and restaurants.
Indoor and outdoor games are available for use.
Safe private one third of an acre location on edge of small village overlooking open countryside.
  • Peter has a lovely house set in a large and very attractive garden. He was very welcoming and helpful and we enjoyed staying for two nights in the large apartment with two bedrooms, which was ample for the three of us. The village is very attractive with an ancient church and good pub with a choice of ales and good food.

    Priscilla2017-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • Peter's cottage is in a beautiful part of the Cotswolds. The accommodation within the cottage is simple and self-contained, with all basics provided plus a few additional touches including breakfast items and Ordnance Survey maps. There is also access to the beautifully maintained garden which is a lovely place to sit and have breakfast. Note, there is a microwave but no other cooking facilities. Nearby there are plenty of walks and the villages are very picturesque, plus there are a couple of pubs which do excellent food - the George Inn (lunch and dinner served) and the Gate (dinner only). It's also a short drive from Stratford upon Avon. In short - an excellent base from which to explore what the region has to offer. Peter himself was very friendly and flexible. I would recommend his place for a short stay in a lovely part of the Cotswolds.

  • Peter's hospitality was wonderful and the environment surrounding his home is ideal for wonderful country walks, cycling and general relaxation.

  • Peter's place is very accurate in how he describes it. The place is very nice, clean, and comfortable. The scenery around the house is beautiful and has several excellent walking trails surrounding the area which I thouroully enjoyed. If you looking for a nice place in the countryside then I recommend this place. Peter was also a great and friendly host!

  • We really enjoyed our stay at Judy's. The annexe had everything we needed and the bed was extremely comfortable. We did explore the surrounding neighbourhood which was lovely. Would definitely recommend staying at Judy's

    Karen2016-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • Judy provides a lovely place to stay in a very quiet and picturesque little village. Lots of lovely countryside and plenty of walks! The annex itself was very nice and sizeable with coffee and tea provided. Judy made me feel very welcome on arrival and through out.

  • A delightful self-contained annexe to Judy's home with everything necessary provided for a short stay (including chocolate biscuits). Set within a lovely garden and located in an idyllic village with country pub nearby. An ideal base for exploring Oxfordshire by car and with lovely walks for the more energetic.

  • The hosts were both helpful and charming. Clearly keen to make sure we had all we needed. The weather was blisteringly hot and very humid - they offered fans to help. They are a very nice kind and caring couple.

  • A fantastic stay in a very homely annex. The host made us feel extremely welcome and couldn't do more. My 3 year old was very sad to go and thoroughly enjoyed playing with the dogs and toys. I will definitely be coming back again!! Thank you so much.

  • Judy and Peter were welcoming and attentive hosts. The cosy semi-detached annexe has everything we could possibly need for a short escape from the city, the house is in a middle of a huge, beautiful garden, and the village and its surroundings are as picturesque as England can get. We had a lovely stay. Thanks!

  • My parents had a lovely time staying at Judy's accommodation. Judy and her husband were most welcoming & pointed them in the direction of places to eat whilst also advising about places to see and how to get there. The accommodation itself was very clean, comfortable and well equipped - it was absolutely perfect for their stay. They would not hesitate to recommend Judy as host and her accommodation to others.

  • We were a group of 8 friends on a weekend reunion and found it hard to leave. This is a wonderful country house finished to a very high standard set in its own grounds in a stunning rural location. The house is beautiful and very spacious, with good communal spaces for cooking, playing board games, and spending time together. The huge well equipped kitchen was great for big dinners and the log fires in the reception rooms were gorgeous. Big utility & boot room was perfect for all those muddy wellington boots following our walks ! The bedrooms were all very spacious and comfortable with lovely bed linen and the bathrooms luxurious! The house was very well equipped with gorgeous furnishings and there were lovely touches throughout, with fresh flowers & a wonderful welcome basket with homemade cakes & cookies. Shortlands Park Stud is idyllic. I would highly recommend staying here; it's a stunning country house furnished to a very high standard with a beautiful garden and no neighbours. The house is incredibly well equipped and the beautiful beds are very comfortable. We had a fantastic weekend and would definitely return.

  • Lynn's house is warm, spacious and very comfortable. We were a group of 6 adults and 3 children - the kids loved having the horses around, and there were some good walks nearby. Lynn was lovely at all times. Hot water was a major issue, though. We only got 4 (quick) showers each day out of the tank before it ran out. Two of us had to wash using water boiled from the kettle, and the kids went without their baths in the evening. We had a great weekend regardless, but worth knowing in case you're eyeing up that huge bath in the photographs!

    Nisha Lilia2017-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • Lynn is a wonderful host and she made us feel incredibly welcome in her beautiful house. We arrived to freshly baked cookies and brownies which was such a treat after the drive from London The views from the house are stunning and we loved the huge kitchen and the aga. Thanks for a wonderful weekend and we will be back!
