  • What a place! The views were incredible!! The house was lovely - it was very clean and there was plenty of space. Helen was a great host, she responded quickly to emails and was very accommodating to our needs. Would definitely recommend and would definitely stay again.

  • We had a lovely time at the house. The location was perfect for seeing all that the Forest of Dean, and South Wales had to offer. The house was exactly as described with plenty of space for our party of 10 adults and 5 young children. Helen the host was very accommodating, nothing was too much trouble - despite our many enquiries before our arrival. I would definitely recommend staying here. P.S. Breath-taking views!

  • The house and location are absolutely stunning, we had a beautiful bbq in the back garden

  • A fantastic house, for gathering family or friends. Clean, well presented and ideally located for a large group who may be a little noisy.

  • We had a brilliant weekend staying in Helen's property. The photos do not do it justice as the house is lovely, much bigger than it looks & the views are incredible. You can watch the sunset from the garden & the garden is an amazing sun trap! The area is lovely, very beautiful & there are no neighbours around which is good if you're a little loud like we were :) I would definitely recommend staying here & I would stay here again. I've already recommended it to my Mum & her friends for their 60th :) Thanks Helen! x

  • Helen's house was 'Party Central' for my wife's birthday from Friday afternoon until Sunday. Children and their various partners converged from all parts of the UK to celebrate and Helen's team had made a perfect job of preparing Dorland House. Enough of everything (crockery, chairs, bedding etc), fridges all on ready to receive the Waitrose delivery at 4pm on the Friday. The house was immaculate and there were lots of games, books, DVDs and CDs for guests to use. For a group of 10 it was more than adequate and it is a venue which we will certainly bear in mind for future family get-togethers....and the view over the Usk valley was spectacular! If you needed to break out for a meal and some excellent beer, we would recommend the Piercefield pub in St Arvans. Thanks Helen, a memorable weekend! John & Jane.

  • My time spent in Devauden was one of the best experiences of my life!!! The locals were so welcoming, lovely and fun! The cottage was ideal and although Helen lives next door, she trusted us to do as we wished and we never felt under surveillance. We went to the Irish night in the village. The organisers of the event gave us a free bottle of champagne. The band gave us a lift home. The lady in the shop was so welcoming. AMAZING PEOPLE!! I would 100% recommend Devauden as a place to chill, meet lovely people and have fun. We'll be back!

Our small but perfectly formed studio is located next to Chepstow Castle with one of its first guests being Oliver Cromwell! Great for couples and solo adventurers. Walking distance of great restaurants, independent shops, live music, outdoor theatre, friendly local pubs and Chepstow racecourse. You’ll love our place because of the neighbourhood and ambiance situated as it is on the beautiful River Wye. Perfect for walkers of both the Offa's Dyke path and the Welsh coastal path. Pets welcome.
A small but perfectly formed one up two down room that is attached to the main ground floor flat via a small courtyard. The room is provided with a small dining table, a sink area with tea and coffee making facilities a radio, TV and WiFi. Off the main room is the ensuite wet room and toilet. Please note that a set of steep steps lead up to the double bed on the mezzanine level with limited head room.
Chepstow, which means marketplace in Old English, offers relaxed, niche shopping in arty surroundings, restaurants, pubs and the famous Chepstow race course, home of the Welsh Grand National. As well as the Norman castle the streets are lined with handsome Georgian and Victorian buildings, leading down from the town centre past our house (opposite the castle!) and the riverside beyond. Situated in the beautiful Wye valley Chepstow is a great base to visit Monmouthshire or just stay local and enjoy our beautiful town and riverbank.
  • This cozy place is in an excellent location for getting around Chepstow. It's definitely compact, but it's nicely equipped.

    Mari2017-06-19T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay! Beautifully restored and repurposed old, old (oldest in Chepstow) house, once occupied by Oliver Cromwell! Our host Helen offered and very kindly washed our laundry for us - way beyond the call of duty! The place is right across the street from Chepstow Castle on the banks of the Wye River. Lovely!

    Doug and Kathy2017-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • This place is very compact but well specced out with a nice bathroom & shower. As the stairs to the bed mezzanine are very steep and the mezzanine has low eaves it is not suitable for elderly guests. Location-wise, it is very central with very easy walking access to pubs, shops, cafes, and attractions. Access to the self-contained room is through a private residence, however this did not affect or bother us; on the contrary, it adds an extra level of security.

    Martin2017-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • Very good position for exploring Chepstow.Lovely comfy bed and a good wet (URL HIDDEN) stairs were a lot steeper than expected.Would be a bit tight on space for two people but ok for one night.A comfy easy chair would be nice.A very friendly welcome from Samantha.

    Anita2017-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Sam and Helen were great hosts. We had a warm welcome and Sam advised us of some activities going on in town that day, which made our stay. The accommodation is as described and really well suited for a short visit. To be fair it is probably a little too tight in our view for an extended stay. The property is well located for the amenities of Chepstow and to visit this area. We would definitely recommend staying here.

    Vic2017-07-11T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful stop over with some lovely decor. It was as described on website. Would use again as a stop over and probably when travelling alone.

  • Spacious comfortable clean well appointed cottage in a spacious courtyard setting with other similar terraced cottages. Very quiet location accessed via very narrow country lanes 5 min drive from the scenic town of Chepstow. The Village Inn in Sedbury provides great meals! We enjoyed stay and would very happily return.

  • The building is modern and warm, with a lovely shower The bed wax small and noisy and very uncomfortable We had to move some items of furniture and there was dirt and rubbish underneath I could not contact the host for help with directions and did not see them all weekend Cobwebs and insects everywhere The plastic plates were delightful if you like going for a picnic

    John2016-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • The milk in the fridge and the cake were a thoughtful touch - very much appreciated! It was just as described - everything you need for time away - dishwasher tablets, washing machine sachets, towels, soap, heats up quickly and easily . . . Minor gripes were: a couple of pans in the kitchen needed a bit of a clean and there were only two, non-matching, glass wine glasses! Other than that, just the job for a bolt hole in Wye Valley. Great flexibility to be able to stay just the one night too.

    Sue2017-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • This was absolutely perfect for us. We needed a base camp as we were attending a music festival in nearby Chepstow. Our cottage was clean and warm, very hot water, pretty much everything we might need, we were only there mornings and night though. And it's a pretty location, Chepstow is about 10-15 minute walk away along a footpath which is very easy to access. We'd happily stay again.

    Steve2017-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • Amy nos dejó hacer el check in antes de tiempo porque lo necesitábamos. Hemos estado cómodos, gracias por todo.

  • The barns are in a very idyllic setting we were woken by a Cockerel every morning which was lovely. The barns are large with good sized bedrooms and communal areas. The kitchen had everything you should need for preparing family meals etc. The barn is very warm and perfect for walking holidays. Down side we stayed in cottage number 3. It was pretty grubby in places like the shower doors, cupboards and room corners. The worst thing for us were the mattresses. They were unbearable we had to removed duvets from the spare bedrooms and put them on top of the mattress. The only other thing that would of been nice was a mattress protector just for hygiene purposes.

  • We were met at the doorstep by Rachel's husband who showed us to the apartment. They were both very welcoming and the apartment was better than expected. The description of the flat is spot on. It is a comfortable walk to the racecourse or into the town centre, and Rachel provided us with plenty of information about Chepstow and the surrounding area, although circumstances meant that we did not make use of the information given. Having spent the day away we were surprised, but pleased, to run into our hosts at the local Indian restaurant, which cemented the recommendation we had received from the local Italian restaurant where we were too late to have a table!! We had a very comfortable night's sleep in a pleasant bedroom which was quiet and peaceful, as was the surroundings of the neighbourhood. Couldn't ask for more really, even provided with a pint of milk and the makings for a cuppa which was much appreciated!

    Biffo2015-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Really great place to stay and handily located for both the town centre and the Wye Valley path. Rachel was very helpful and was in touch before our visit and she was also kind enough to pick us up from the station on our arrival. Milk, tea, fruit and waffles provided as part of the welcome package which was a thoughtful touch. Would recommend.

    Shikha2016-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • My second stay here (see my previous review June 2016), would recommend. The flat is exactly as described.

    Rosie2016-06-20T00:00:00Z
  • Rachel met us at the apartment and showed us how everything worked. Check-in and checkout were easy. The kitchen is well stocked for cooking although we didn't use anything but the dishes. She left us some milk, butter, coffee, and tea which was helpful since we arrived after the grocery stores had closed.

    Cynthia2016-08-23T00:00:00Z

    Carmen 2016-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • The flat's in a great location, only a few minutes walk to the high street, and it's a perfect base for exploring the area. Clean, tidy and very well equipped - we felt instantly at home and had everything we needed. Rachel made us feel very welcome and we appreciated the little extras (especially the Welsh cakes!).

    Sarah2016-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Rachel was such a wonderful host (and I'm sure Matt is too, we just had most contact with both of them for our stay!) right from the beginning; It really was magical. Rachel and Matt: thank you so much for everything you did to accommodate us for two months; you really do go above and beyond for your guests in this magical space! We really surprised for the tasty dinner you have arranged for us. Amazing stay and I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again for next year.

    Sridhar2017-05-31T00:00:00Z
  • I have a fantastic stay at the flat near Chepstow Racecourse. The flat was perfect. Rachel was very flexible and let us arrive early as we needed to be at the nearby racecourse by 12.00. Her communication was very efficient. Rachel was waiting for us on arrival at 11.00 to give us the keys and show us around. The flat was perfect in every way. She had put on the heaters and the flat was nice and cosy. We stayed for one night following a day at the races and a lovely meal in a Greek restaurant that was also only a short walk away. The flat is in a lovely quiet area with car parking at the rear.

  • We stayed here for two nights on our way back to London from Wales. The cottage was located down a nice quiet lane and was in a good location for exploring Chepstow and the surrounding areas. It was spacious and had most things we needed. Amy was always quick to respond and very helpful in answering questions.

    Anna2016-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • Amy made the cottage lovely and welcoming and check in was so easy. The cottage was more spacious than I was expecting and had everything we needed for a weekend away. We walked into Chepstow for dinner on Saturday night which has some really lovely restaurants and is about 30 mins walk away. I would certainly stay again if I were visiting the area.

    Harriet2017-08-20T00:00:00Z

  • Exactly what we needed for a place to stay with our 1 year old whilst attending a wedding at clearwell castle. Great value for money especially for new years eve. Things we didn't expect to find on our arrival like milk, cake (definite bonus), tea bags and coffee sachet which was great. A few cobwebs but nothing that would stop us from returning. Would definitely recommend to friends and family.

    Kirsty2017-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful cottage in a beautiful part of the country. We had peace and quiet and relaxed a lot during our stay. Chepstow is a short drive away if you want to get out and explore the town and eat and drink.

  • Stayed for two nights for a trip to the racecourse. It was ideal for the two of us and our 4 month old. Amy was great with communication before hand and had set up a travel cot and high chair for our arrival. Barn is down a very quiet lane which was lovely and a nice court yard for parking made it easy to unload the car. Barn was clean and tidy and some lovely finishing touches on arrival were fab.

Central location, close to castle and racecourse as well as all the shops, bars & restaurants Chepstow has to offer. 2 minutes walk from Chepstow bus station & 10 minutes from the train. A 15 minute drive from Tintern in the beautiful Wye Valley, 30 minutes to Monmouth or the heart of the Forest of Dean. My house is virtually on top of Offa's Dyke & the Wye Valley Walk & a 10 minute drive to the wonderful Wye Valley & Forest of Dean. Chepstow town is 2 minutes walk & has some lovely little shops as well as great pubs, bars & restaurants. The racecourse is just a 10 minute walk away.
Bright, clean, cosy, quiet double room in modern house within easy walking distance of Chepstow town centre, with its shops, pubs & restaurants, as well as Offa's Dyke & the Wye Valley Walk. 5 minutes from the castle, 2 minutes from the bus station & 10 minutes from the train station. A 10 minute drive to Tintern & the beautiful Wye Valley or the Forest of Dean and 5 to the National Diving & Activity Centre.
Close to town centre, with great shops, pubs & restaurants, but tucked away in a quiet corner. M & S food 2 minutes away! Easy access to the stunning Wye Valley as well as being virtually on top of Offa's Dyke.
  • My sister and I very much enjoyed staying at Susan's home! It was very peaceful, as well as central to everywhere we wanted to go, so we were easily able to walk everywhere. We only used public transport once, on the way back from Tintern Abbey. The bus station is right around the corner from the house, as well as a cheap food market. Susan gave us great recommendations and directions to places, and even did our laundry for us! We had a great time - she was very welcoming, friendly, and accommodating!

  • The property was very clean, new and comfortable for our stay. In the bathroom for our use there was no shower but Susan very kindly offered the shower in her ensuite. Nothing was too much trouble and she stayed up waiting for us to check in although we arrived late. Susan is a very interesting woman to chat to and her cat is very affectionate!

  • Susan wasn't in when we check in but communication was perfect and despite not being at home she couldn't have made it easier. The house is cosy and homely and a mirror of Susan's personality... so nice to be around! The room is as shown on the pictures and was spotless! The location is central and close - walking distance - to various restaurants, shops and pubs. Lovely town no doubts about that and Susan's room is the right point to explore not only Chepstow but the Wye Valley.

    Carla2017-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • I wouldn't hesitate to recommend staying with Sue to anyone - the house was clean and very well kept, a very comfortable bed and my own bathroom to use! Parking was made easy on the small cul-de-sac. Worked perfectly while I was staying away whilst doing a diving course at NDAC.

    Michael2017-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • Having read reviews of Susan and her house had no worries about our stay in Chepstow. Room , house , location all perfect and Susan pointed us in the direction of a great pub for a great beer. Would definitely return . Thanks Susan

  • The room & en-suite was exactly as described and spotlessly clean. Very comfortable bed. There was some confusion over the booking but Ghalia was super responsive and helpful. It is about a 20min walk to the centre but a pretty meander. I would absolutely recommend Ghalia’s room. Bonus for us was the dog who is a big softy and a friendly cat!

Amy was very helpful in resolving a few minor issues, and it was a lovely place to be and stay. Highly recommended.

  • We had a super time in Amy's cottage. It was well equipped and spacious for a family of four. Amy was very accommodating with our late checkin and responsive to our questions. We would definitely recommend a stay at this cottage if you are planning a trip to the Forest of Dean.

Sally also gave us some nice ideas of what to do and where to visit locally and in Cardiff where we were heading to next. The pizza place a few minutes walk away is also definitely worth a visit!

  • We spent a night at the cosy Studio, and the fire was burning when we arrived. We had a great time, and would have spent more of it walking the beautiful landscape. Caroline and Dave were very helpful (as were their neighbours when we drove too far in the dark). Highly recommended.

  • Superb place and has everything you could possibly need for a quiet break away. We only stayed one night for a passing trip to Bristol and wished we stayed longer! Caroline and her husband were both lovely and gave us a warm welcome. The cabin is absolutely perfect!

  • Excellent base to explore the Wye Valley and surrounding area. Very welcoming hosts and lovely accommodation in an idyllic and peaceful yet convenient location. Highly recommended.

  • We really enjoyed our stay in this cosy scenic studio. The little touches added for our toddler -like the children’s toys/ high chair and cot meant we barely brought anything for him. This really made our stay feel so homely and comfortable. We were greeted so warmly and instantly made to feel welcome. We loved the fireplace and the easy to use kitchen. Dave and Caroline took the time to talk us through everything about the studio and were on hand if need be but we’re very respectful of our privacy. It’s such a lovely little find and we look forward to returning one day. Thanks again!

  • Amazing place! The house is bigger and better than it looks on the photos! Location Is really convenient and only 10 minutes over the bridge. Lisa was so helpful and all the small touches made such a difference! We found lots of activities to do around the area. We are already planning our visit for next year!

  • The house is beautifully decorated with every small detail a luxury! Feather bedding, crisp white sheets and lovely smelling hand soaps and moisturiser. We could have been at Babinton House but in an even better location. Fantastic for the kids with space to run around and a whole cupboard of toys for rainy days. Stunning views and the best of the Welsh country side at your doorstep. Lisa our host was wonderful, great communication, lovely little touches like marshmellows for the fire and she really made us feel welcome. The best holiday we have ever had as a family!!

    Samantha2017-06-02T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely wonderful house and garden! Comfortable beds, lovely hand and body wash. Very peaceful location, stunning scenery straight from the front door. Lisa was extremely helpful and communication with her was made very easy. Had a truly wonderful experience, would definitely return.

    Roisin2017-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • Our experience staying at Lisa's beautiful home was perfect from start to finish. This home is well-appointed and while luxurious, it is also very comfortable and kid friendly. So adults can appreciate the lovely ambiance, and kids can be kids without feeling like they can't touch anything! We went with family friends -- 5 adults, 2 teens and a 7 year old and everyone found something to do and enjoyed their experience. The bedrooms in particular were lovely, serene and comfortable, 3 bathrooms worked perfectly for our number, and we never felt that we were tripping over each-other in the common areas. We did not find that we were missing any items in the house, it really had everything we needed, and Lisa was attentive host. We would definitely book this holiday again, thank you Lisa!

    Michelle2017-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful house in a wonderful location that we could enjoy very much, despite the weather, thanks to the tips and directions the owner gave us. Thanks si much Lisa!!!!

    Eduardo2017-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • Such a fabulous home and very easy to be comfortable. I wish it was my home! Lisa is very accommodating & helpful

    Shannan2017-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • Me and my family had a great stay here. There were 6 adults 3 kids and a baby and this place was perfect. The high chair and travel cot means it's very baby friendly and there's an amazing Alladin's Cave of a toys cupboard in the lounge which the kids loved. The house is decorated beautifully and has two gorgeous sunken baths. Kitchen was well equipped so easy to make your own food. But the best thing is the outdoor space. Huge lawns to play games on with even a rope swing on the top garden and fantastic views too. The only slight criticism is the downstairs bedroom was a bit cramped for two people but if you don't need to sleep that many people then it's fine. Lisa was a great host who was on hand but never disturbed us. She responded to messages extremely quickly. Would definitely recommend this place.

  • Surrounded by lush countryside, quiet and tranquil - perfect for solitude, chilled out and unwinding time. Hanley Farm Shop on the grounds is a very well stocked and friendly shop. The thoughtful touches left by Harriet were very much appreciated and enjoyed. The fact that it is dog friendly is a bonus! The space was nicely furnished and sparkling clean. I enjoyed my stay there :) Thank you so much!

  • This place is amazing - It's the perfect place to be in the central of everything you want to get to in the surrounding areas of this part of the U.K. But also the area it's self is staggeringly beautifully. And as it's out of the way from the hustle and bustle a great retreat from city or town life. The apartment it self is clean and homely and very very comfortable and cosy. Everything's to hand and Harriet is close to advise. Hanley Farm shop very "Handley" right next to you, to grab a really gorgeous breakfast or food throughout the day. Or something for your nights in . I would recommend this place to stay to any of my close friends and family and any one else interested in going this part of the world . 10/10 . Hope to return very very soon xx

Parva Farmhouse is an old stone 17th century former farmhouse. There are eight bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms. Children of all ages are welcome but please be aware no dogs, sorry. Price includes choice of breakfast and tea and biscuits on arrival.
After ten years of managing the restaurant and running the kitchen for Shaun Hill at The Walnut Tree near Abergavenny, my wife (Marta Brook) and I (Roger Brook) decided to purchase Parva Farmhouse B&B and try our hands at something different. From March we will be focusing on the restaurant where we will offer guests a set menu at a fixed price. There will be no choice, however we will be in touch to discuss allergies, likes and dislikes. The focus here will be on the ingredients and less so on theatrics and a fussy service.
Our B&B is situated in the historic village of Tintern, a 15 minute walk from Tintern Abbey on the west bank of the river Wye. Tintern is home to several walking trails, on the Welsh side of the river there is the Wye Valley walk and on the the English side you can find Offa's Dyke.

  • Outstanding stay, super convenient for divers or anyone wanting to stay close to the Chepstow National Diving and Activity Centre (NDAC) just 10 minutes away. Super soft bed and wonderfully powerful hot shower in the shared bathroom. Absolutely enchanting hosts, spent a wonderful evening in their lounge chatting with them about podcasts, streaming TV shows and movies like old friends while I munched my way through a large portion of fish & chips from the nearby chippie. Highly recommended without any hesitation! I will definitely try to stay here again next time I need to stay near Chepstow!

  • Before arrival contact with Amada was great. She responded swiftly. Due to flight delay and puncture of the tire we arrived very late in the middle of the night but it was no problem for Amanda. The room and bathroom were comfortable and cosy. In a room you can prepare yourself tea or coffee what is convenient. Also some fruits and small snacks was waiting for us what was nice surprise. We met Amanda in the morning when we were leaving and she was very friendly. I recommend staying there.

  • We were made to feel welcome and Chepstow is a very good central base for traveling around South Wales and the Wye Valley. Parking was available in the castle park just down the road providing you left before 9 am in the morning.

    Judith2015-06-06T00:00:00Z
  • I was enchanted by Nick & Jen's historic home with an amazing view of the castle. The charming cottage is located within steps of the castle & museum in one direction and is walking distance to a diverse number of restaurants, shops, banks, and even a juice bar in the other direction. Jen & Nick made me feel immediately welcomed in their space. They are a lovely couple who genuinely enjoys sharing their home with others and it shows. If your travels take you anywhere near Chepstow, I highly recommend staying at their B&B!

  • Jennifer made us feel very welcome, and was able to give us up to date information about the town. We found Chepstow to be an interesting place with a good selection of informal places to eat - and live music. Nice fresh cotton sheets on the beds.

If you've ever fancied staying in an old Manor House then you will love this place. Roaring log fires and a walled garden in the summer, it is a real find. The Manor House is Split into two separate homes, still completely private, this historic house would suit business travel and / or families as it is situated in a conservation area and has great opportunities for exploring. Wye valley, F of D South Wales. Close to Celtic Manor St Pierre Golf Courses, Offa's Dyke Trail. chepstow racecourse.
  • A really Special house for a group or family. Wish we had been able to stay a bit longer. We had pretty terrible weather so stayed in and enjoyed the house and lovely roaring fire.

    Cathy2017-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • This is a very special place - a 16th century hall which is cosy and homely rather than draughty or oppressive. There was plenty of room for two families and the children enjoyed the swing and trampoline very much. The house and garden are incredibly beautiful and carefully kept. Linda, the host, could not have been more kind and helpful.

    Isabelle2017-04-10T00:00:00Z
  • An absolutely idyllic Manor House easy to get to with car and that even Tesco does food delivery to. Couldn't have asked for a better place with lovely area to cook and eat dinner, huge bedrooms and lovely bathrooms to have a proper bath. When the water heating didn't work in the morning Linda was there in 10 minutes to fix it! Would recommend for anyone who want to get away from the city buzz and want scenic views, both the place itself and hiking trails closeby. Only wished we could've stayed an extra day!

    Anna2017-04-30T00:00:00Z
  • The house is beautiful and Linda was a lovely host. Nothing was too much trouble, including kindly popping over to deliver a BBQ!!

    Elements12017-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Linda's house for my dad's birthday celebration. It was an important birthday and Linda's house was more than worthy for such a significant milestone. The house is amazing. So spacious and full of character. And it is obvious Linda had spent a lot of time, money, and effort in decorating and furnishing the place. It was also spotless and Linda provided all that was needed; and she was prompt and courteous in her communication. And then there is the garden! Beautiful and secluded. This is a fabulous place if you want to get away from it all for a few days or to use it as a base to explore the wye valley. We loved it so much that we want to come back again later in the year, which is no higher praise. I only hope it will be available later in the year, as I'm sure as more people stay here, the busier it will become and the harder it will be to book! If it's free for your dates, don't hesitate and book it! :)

    Max2017-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautiful house in stunning settings. Entry and exit were both seamless. There was plenty of parking for 3 cars. The gardens are a lovely surprise. The house is off the beaten track but not remote or isolated. The kitchen area is a fantastic communal room. Extremely well equipped all round with great little touches to help guests. We found Linda to be very accommodating to our requirements and extremely helpful. I would definitely return here again. We were staying for a wedding at St Pierre which was only a short walk away over the golf course. The house is best suited to 3 couples with three lovely double rooms. The additional 2 places are best for children. We didn't want to leave! 5* recommendation. An amazing place to stay.

  • Had a wonderful time at this lovely place. Very cosy home with all the basic needs taken care of. Location is great too as this offers great access to places around such as the Forest of Dean. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a good family home to stay in away from the buzz of big cities.

The apartment, which is light and airy, consists of 1 double bedroom, a lounge/kitchen area and a bathroom. The sofa converts into a double bed. • We loved the cosy little room at Debbies. She was very helpful with fixing anything we needed, and internet is reliable. If you want to cook, it maybe nice to bring your own chopping knife for better comfort, but otherwise there's a pub 10 mins down the road towards the Cathedral ruins for an enjoyable meal.

There is a comfortable double bed in the room with lots of space. We also have a separate listing for a smaller double room, so we have space to accommodate up to 4 people. At times, we may also be able to offer additional accommodation, please enquire about the charges for this. Well behaved dogs are also welcome at a small additional charge. Our house is located a couple of minutes drive from the Severn Bridge (M48), walking distance to the racecourse (5 -10 mins), the beginning of Offa's Dyke Trail and the start of the Wales Coastal Path are also nearby. Chepstow is set in the beautiful Wye Valley, with an ancient castle and is a short drive from the historic Tintern Abbey. We are located about 1 mile from Chepstow town centre which has access to buses and trains to Bristol and Cardiff. It takes around 25 minutes to walk to town and around 40 minutes to walk back. (Chepstow is built around a very large hill).
  • Terry and Cheryl are lovely people, very hospitable, happy to help but not obtrusive. The room was lovely right at the top of the house, with 3 windows, so views all round. impeccably clean, and comfortable. The breakfast was simple but heary - An absolute bargain, thanks for looking after our bike terry :)

  • Terry, Cherry and their lovely dog are three excellent hosts. Our stay has been perfect. Room and private bathroom are wonderful and perfectly clean, as well as the rest of the house. The building is located in an amazing green zone, even if not exactly in the centre of the town (car is recommended). Hosts are really lovely, we had a very good interaction and all our requests have been fully satisfied. Very good continental breakfast. Strongly recommended.

  • The room was lovely, and Terry and Cheryl were great hosts, offering me a relaxing beer on my arrival and even giving me a lift in the morning when I had to go to a wedding. Some other reviews have made a note about the slight smell of smoke in the house. I noticed this too, but I didn't find that it affected my stay at all, but others with sensitive noses might reconsider. All in all a very pleasant experience, and if I'm ever back in Chepstow this will be the first place that I look.

  • I spent a couple of nights at Terry and Cheryl's while cycling in the area. The room was great, bed very comfortable and had an en suite bathroom. A light breakfast was set out in the morning in a little dining room which was a nice touch. Terry and Cheryl are a lovely couple, very relaxed and I would like to stay at theirs again if I do the same event I was in Chepstow for next year.

A luxury award winning period property, built in the time of Edward I, (we think it was built approx 1270) - the first historical mention is in 1307 when Bogo de Knovil died and his estate reverted to the Crown. The accommodation is very comfortable and cosy with heaters and a log fire. We loved Chepstow, Tintern and Brecon for day trips. Thanks Juliet and William!

Welcome to our historic 16th century Grade II* farmhouse on the edge of the Forest of Dean; located directly on the A48 a few miles north of Chepstow. Until recently, a working farmhouse that has now become a much loved family home. An ever changing vegetable garden and country garden is surrounded by stone walls. The property makes a great base for those looking to explore the surrounding countryside.
The large bedroom (5x4m) has two antique iron double-beds arranged as a "twin room". The original 16th century fireplace sits against the north wall and there are far reaching views over the rolling pastures. The room benefits from having an adjoining private bathroom and separate private toilet. It is at the back of the property and quiet.
Our surrounding countryside is stunning and our home has lived through many periods of English history. Cromwell may have coming knocking at the grand door once upon a time and artifacts found in the past and more recently are testament to the rich tapestry that is interwoven throughout the property and gardens. Stroat Farm is next door and still a working farm with an organic pedigree. Expect mooing and woofing every now and then. The National Dive Centre is also just a stones throw away, so for those attending courses there, the farmhouse is the perfect place to decompress.
  • Had a fantastic time staying with Andy at Ian's place. The house is beautiful and the room very comfortable, with comfy bed and a nice hot shower. Andy was an incredible host, he greeted us with delicious home made soup and gave us directions to find the house (don't trust (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) Maps, have a chat with Andy and he will explain how to find it perfectly). We were in Chepstow for a tech diving course, and Andy made sure we had plenty of room and facilities to dry our equipment overnight so we didn't have to get back into soggy drysuits in the morning. We felt like we were at home the whole time and we look forward to coming back whenever we are diving Chepstow! Also Andy has lots of local knowledge and he's happy to share his great tips about where to eat or see live music. Definitely recommend this place 100%, whether you are diving, hiking or just looking for a relaxed weekend in a gorgeous setting. Probably my favourite Airbnb experience ever!

    Elena2017-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect stay and couldn't have asked for more. The location is perfect for accessing the NDAC and the housekeeper, Andy was very knowledgable and polite and a cracking cook. He took the time to lead us to house as we arrived in darkness. Would definitely come back.

  • Quirky and full of character. You can expect a comfortable stay and a friendly host. Enjoyed extra touches like Peppermint Tea on request, DVD movie and good tip for a local pub. Recommended. We will probably stay again.

  • What an amazing house! Full of history. Host was great. Room clean and comfortable. Definitely use it again.

  • I stayed in this great period farmhouse which dates from around the 1500's. Set in a wonderful location with cannonballs having been found on the land to the rear. A real treasure trove of domestic items that have been found over recent years whilst the house has undergone decorating and refurbishment. There is an old standing stone in the field down by the river that probably dates from a similar era.The surrounding pastureland is organic and therefore the summer flowers are outstanding. Close to the National Diving Centre and beautiful area of Chepstow, its a great place to stay.

Tintern is a beautiful village in the heart of the Wye Valley. Famous for the Abbey, and also close by is Chepstow racecourse. The area offers an abundance of historical sites and castles, which include Chepstow and Raglan, with medieval remains at Caerwent. In Tintern itself there are local pubs offering good food, together with a number of coffee shops.

The Coach House is a beautiful cosy cottage by the river in Tintern. The house is situated a few minutes stroll from Tintern Abbey and within walking distance of numerous pubs, eateries and a craft centre. The house is suitable for small groups and families and pets are welcome. There are two double bedrooms, one with an additional single bed and a bathroom including shower upstairs. • The Coach house is in a fantastic location on a bend of the river Wye, just a short walk down from Tintern Abbey. We were incredibly lucky with the weather and did some of the many beautiful walks from the house, but it would be a lovely house to be in in bad weather too, with beautiful views and a wood burning stove. The house is well equipped, comfortable and clean. There are several nice pubs to eat in within walking distance. We had a great time and would definitely stay in The Coach House again.

Upstairs has one smaller double and one slightly larger one containing an additional single bed and a good size family bathroom. Downstairs has a well stocked kitchen and living / dining space. Lots of period charm - including some changes in floor height and a spiral staircase to be aware of. We had a few toe-stubbing incidents! WiFi worked well throughout stay. There's a private courtyard out front but no garden. We really enjoyed Tintern. Rick provided info about local pubs which was helpful. As well as the Abbey, there's a children's playground and a great park, playground and cafe at the old station, just up the road. The only thing we didn't find in the village was a food shop. Definitely worth arriving with provisions! The coach house had a good selection of maps and leaflets about local activities. We had fabulous weather and did several great walks. There are footpaths which go straight out of Tintern as well as further up and down the valley. Lots to keep the family entertained!

  • This would be one of the best UK self catering holiday rentals we have stayed in. The cottage was warm, sufficiently spacious for the 4 of us and in an excellent location for the village as well as exploring the beautiful Wye Valley. Rick couldn't have been any more helpful in the run up to our stay.

  • Just finished a wonderful 7 day break at The Coach House. We were lucky as the weather was kind and it was lovely to return back after a day out walking to a cosy warm cottage. We didn't need to light the log fire. Close to Inns and Tintern Mill and Abbey.

  • An extremely comfortable cottage in a beautiful spot overlooking the River Wye which you can enjoy watching run upstream with the tide. Ten-minute walk down to the beautiful abbey, and next to it the very welcome Anchor pub. Chepstow castle is well worth seeing and it is only a shortish drive to the spectacular Symonds Yat.

  • Rick responded quickly to our questions and answered the phone when we needed guidance to enter the property. Rooms were clean and it was a pleasure to stay in the cottage.

This three storey recently renovated town house offers superb quality B&B and one of the best views of Chepstow Castle from a terrace on the ground floor. 45 Bridge Street Chepstow
  • We have just had a great weekend with Dr Glyn and Jan. We were made very welcome. The rooms are very comfortable, the location in Chepstow was great with the castle in the back yard. I would definitely recommend a stay here.

  • We were made to feel so welcome by Dr Glyn and Jan in their home in Chepstow. Perfect accommodation and were served a delicious breakfast the following morning. We found Chepstow the perfect alternative to staying in Cardiff for the World Cup. An easy 40 min train journey/drive into the City. I would highly recommend a visit!

  • Perfect location for a visit to Chepstow and surrounding area. Glyn communicated well and made our stay more interesting with good local knowledge and (URL HIDDEN) :-) If you like music, stop by at The 3 tuns just down the road, good drop of cider too :-D Plenty of good eating places. Highly recommended, lots of good local facilities. It has definitely inspired me to do more walking in beautiful places :-) Thanks very much

  • Our stay was amazing. We felt so welcome into this bnb. Very friendly owners who will try their best to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. Literally picked us up from the station as we had a huge suitcase with us. Offered us tea and cake on arrival on the terrace with view on the castle which was lovely. An absolute pleasure to meet and chat with Dr Glynn. Highly recommend! Thanks again. Clementine

Overlooking the wide sweeping bend of the River Wye in the village of Tintern. Quiet and friendly, Tintern becomes vibrant with visitors in the Summer months because of easy access to the beautiful Wye Valley, The Forest of Dene and Offa's Dyke walks. The historic town of Chepstow is close by with quirky streets and shops, supermarket, museum castle and river walks.
The flat offers compact but well utilised space, kitchen cooking facilities, fridge/freezer and washing machine, dining area lounge with TV and Wifi access. Two Bedrooms; I Double bed, 2 Single beds, Bathroom with shower wash hand basin and WC.
Country retreat in a village steeped in history, with all the amenities to ensure and excellent stay for visitors. There are a selection of restaurants from elegant dining, local pubs to coffee shops. The Capital City of Cardiff is only 35 miles and individual shopping towns Monmouth, Abergavenny and Chepstow are all a short drive away. The spectacular South Wales coastline is easily accessible, by car or public transport.
  • Ottima soluzione per 4 persone in visita all'abbazia di tintern, vista meravigliosa sul fiume Wye e la campagna, completa di tutto il necessario. È stato un soggiorno piacevole. Thank you Susan

  • The house is fabulous with a stunning view from the living room , very well located, just a few minutes to restaurants and local amenities. There are ruins of an old abbey so beautiful everything very close from the house. Susan is a lovely host, very helpful and kind. I recommend this house for sure!

  • Susan's place was an ideal space to explore the Wye Valley from. Stunning views over the river and along to the Abbey were the first thing that struck us. The flat is well appointed, comfortable and clean. It was also quiet, despite being on the main road - very little traffic noise in the evening. As noted in previous reviews the double bedroom is a little small, but we found it to be no problem. The Kitchen is great, with all the implements you need to cook with, and the bathroom clean and modern. Parking is easy and you've within walking distance of the Abbey, and small shopping complex just along the road. There are numerous walks easily reachable from Tintern - short excursions or longer expeditions - and Monmouth and the Forest of Dean are short drives away. I'd thoroughly recommend this place for anyone looking to find out what the Wye Valley has to offer.

  • We have just returned home after spending 4 nights at this excellent apartment in Tintern. The arrangements worked perfectly, Susan sending us the key code in ample time, and all was as described. The view over the River Wye is superb, and it is possible to walk directly from the apartment into the hills on either side of the river. We also went further afield, spending a day walking in the Forest of Dean, and another in Chepstow, visiting the spectacular castle and good museum. There are several choices for eating in Tintern, sadly no shop, but we were able to buy milk in the Abbey Tea Shop. The fact that you can access the apartment so early in the day, 11am and leave by 6pm gives you a lot of extra time to enjoy this excellent holiday home. Thank you very much, Susan.

  • The flat is in a fantastic position over looking the River Wye and a short walk from Tintern Abbey. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay as the flat was bright, clean and comfortable and great value. We did not meet up with Susan but she provided us with much information to make our stay very enjoyable.

  • Susan was very prompt in her communication in the run up to the stay, it was very easy to make the booking and plan our arrival. The flat was just as described. It was easy to find, being on the main road through Tintern and right by the River Wye. The space felt very private, with amazing views over the river, wooded hillside and a vineyard. There were some delightful riverside and woodland walks from the flat and we loved exploring the immediate area with all its history. Also loved visiting Monmouth, Chepstow and Trellech with its archaeological dig. Excellent meals at pubs and eateries in the village. No food shop at Tintern, but a Londis a couple of miles away, and a "Foodies" Community Shop and cafe at Brockweir. We very much hope to return!

  • Lovely apartment, with everything we could need, such as bread, milk, coffee-even shower gel. In a lovely village. Very clean and central, with parking just opposite.

  • Susan was a great host, very friendly, helpful, flexible and easy to communicate with. The flat is in an idyllic position and is ideal for anyone wanting some peace and quiet in the Wye Valley within easy striking distance of Monmouth, the Forest of Dean, Chepstow and Newport and is only 45 mins from the centre of Cardiff. It's a great place to stay with a family, very clean and tidy with great views over the river and up the valley. Biscuits were a great touch too! Highly recommended and very good value.
