  • Rosalind was a friendly host. She introduced herself and stayed in contact but we didn't really notice that we were sharing a kitchen! Her house is welcoming and very homely and in a great location for Ledbury. The village shop was great and I bought local produce and a new butter dish! We did get a little lost in the village so make sure you know where you are going!

  • Fab stay, lovely house, with a great wood burner and a lovely garden. Was so great to find somewhere to take the dogs. Great communication as well. I'd recommend it to anyone! Thanks so much Rosalind and daughter (who was lovely but I didn't catch her name!)

  • A really lovely part of the country and a great house. Ros cooked us a lovely breakfast that sorted us for the day. She was so friendly and welcoming...really made the stay relaxing. The rooms were comfortable and great for what we needed. Would definitely stay there again.

  • Me and my friends had a fantastic weekend at Rosalind's place. The house was everything we expected after reading the listing. We found a quiet place with quite a few places to visit. Totally recommend this house if you are looking for a country retreat.

  • Ros is lovely and very easy to communicate with as she responds to messages quickly. The wood burning stove is great and pumps out lots of heat making the living room very cosy. The cottage is clean, tidy and comfortable with good Wifi.

  • We couldn't have been happier with our stay at the Hen House - it was the perfect hideaway for our 'mini-honeymoon' and Nicki & Johnnie were prefect hosts - from all the homemade goodies, fresh salad & eggs and lovely bottle of bubbles they'd left for us as we'd just got married to their friendliness, local knowledge & recommendations and genuine hospitality, they couldn't have made us feel more welcome. The hen house itself also didn't disappoint - despite it being August, we experienced the feel of the place in both cold and warm weather, but were secretly pleased that we had an excuse to try out the fire as well as use the BBQ. The place is beautifully and luxuriously finished with a spacious, relaxing feel (as well as also managing to be cosy) - an ideal place to relax and recharge in peace and quiet (plus it has good wifi if you do want to be more productive).. we'll be back for sure. Oh and the surrounding area is also lovely, really pretty countryside, walks and a number of lovely pubs (that Johnnie and Nicki can point you in the direction of). All in all, a fabulous place, area and hosts. We highly recommend.

  • We had a fantastic weekend and really warm welcome, the arrival gifts were much appreciated and very tasty! The Hen House is a perfect place to relax, and the local area is very peaceful. We enjoyed local walks, jogging and a trip to the Swan which was also very nice, but relaxing in the hen house and playing the piano was our favourite part of our stay. Nicki and Johnny were the perfect hosts, they made us feel very welcome, and it was clear that if we needed anything they would be happy to help. We have already recommended to several friends and colleagues and will ourselves return. Thank you Nicki and Johnny.

    Clare2016-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • We had an absolutely fantastic stay at the Hen House - felt relaxed and at home the moment we arrived! Nicki and Johnnie were fantastic hosts and went well out of their way to welcome us and help us get settled in. It was a perfect place to stay with our young daughter, who loved the open space and piano. Couldn't recommend it more!

    Duncan2016-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • The Hen House is warm and inviting. Set back from any road noise, surrounded by picturesque countryside and only a short drive to local amenities makes The Hen House ideal located for a getaway. Nicki and Johnnie are gracious hosts and have adorned the Hen House with comfortable and modern furnishing providing everything one may need for relaxing stay.

    Ali2017-04-02T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely space full of natural light . Hosts are very welcoming and accommodating, making for a great stay.

    Troy2017-06-12T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely perfect, couldn't have asked for a more pleasant, peaceful escape. We were made to feel very welcome and had so much space in which to unwind. The area is very quiet, with lots of walks in the beautiful countryside. Don't be deceived by the name, the Hen House larger, cleaner and better appointed than anywhere I've ever lived!

    James2017-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • The Hen House is a great place to get away from everything. We where welcomed by Jonnie, even thou we where a good 2 hours late due to traffic. The accommodation has everything a self catering place should have and is of very high quality. Lots of nice village round and about and lots of places to go for a walk.

    Ally2015-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderfully designed and unique building. Fresh and clean. Clever use of space and decorated with quirky furniture. Very comfortable. Full amenities and much more than we were expecting. The kitchen has everything you need to cook with. Great hosts who were very accomodating. Lovely touches with fresh bread and eggs. The log burner made the whole experience even better. Would highly recommend. Is perfect to get away and you have all the privacy you need. Would be great anytime of the year. We were spoilt with a very sunny early Spring day. Would be good in the Summer as well as cosy for the Winter. Wish we had just stayed for longer.

Tucked away at the end of a no-through road in the rural heart of the 3 counties you will find Eldersfield Tipis: 2 two-man Tipis, each with a bbq and sitting area along with a shower and toilet block and a 4 man caravan in case of inclement weather. This listing is for up to 10 people occupying the whole paddock. You may need to bring additional tipis depending on the adult/child ratio. If you would like to book just one space please enquire as I can rent each space separately.
Please note that we have moved the tipi and camping field but we don't have any photos as yet, the particulars are the same and the view is better but you are slightly closer to the farm, and now have direct access to farm tracks without going onto the road. (photos to follow in better weather). The tipis are now a few years older than the current photos. Eldersfield Tipis are placed at the centre of farm life within an approx ¼ acre paddock. During the day you will hear the bustle of farm life; animals being fed, lambing, calving, tractors scraping up or harvesting. At night you will be enveloped by a huge sky and hear the hooting of Barn and Little Owls and the odd moo or baa as the animals settle down for the night. While at the centre of farm life you will experience a great sense of remoteness and peace at being far away from the world. The Tipi field at Nash End Farm is complete with 2 toilets and a shower room, outside dining, a bbq and an outside tap for washing up. The interior of the tipis are left for you to embellish at your will! We provide a ground sheet and there is space for 2 adults to sleep in each Tipi. We also provide a 2 man caravan which will sleep 2 people or 2 adults and 2 children. Taking the whole paddock, whether one family with a couple of children, or a larger group of adults or a couple of families, will allow you to have exclusive use of the 1/4 acre paddock. It can be used in various ways. If you are a family of four you could use one Tipi as a daytime space, the other as an evening space and the caravan for chilling out if the weather is bad. If you are a group of friends you can use the paddock for your communal space perhaps bringing your own gazebo for long evenings by the fire, using the tipis and caravan for overnight accommodation. Whatever you are planning I cam happy to discuss how you will be best accommodated prior to your booking. The toilet and shower is the kind that you would find on a building site. It is clean and functional and also includes 2 sinks and 2 urinals and one shower separate from the toilets. We also have a beautifully appointed Shepherd's hut also listed on this site which could be booked at the same time for those who require a more glamorous glamping experience! Guests are welcome to have an open fire but do so at their own risk. Wood is available at £7 per wheelbarrow load. We think it's the perfect location for a private family gathering or college reunion. There's space to kick back and watch the day unfold, for children to run around and enjoy life's simple pleasures and at the end of a long summer's day to watch the sun go down. Please note that we do not provide sleeping or cooking equipment.
    L'epitome della vita rurale inglese!
  • Rosalind was very quick to respond and very flexible with accommodation and allowing us to bring our friends dog. The site is on a working farm so there are loads of beautiful views, the camping was great we loved staying in the tepees. When we arrived there was chopped wood and really nice sausages waiting for us. We had a loverly little trip out to Tewksbury and spent time relaxing around a warm fire at night. Great, cheap little weekend away would highly recommend, and hope to go again.

  • A brilliant camping spot which is very peaceful and not too far away from the nearest town for shops and restaurants. Would highly recommend!!

  • My time at Eldersfield was a joy from start to finish. The pictures on this sight only offer a glimpse of the beauty surrounding the sight, sitting out in the field you truly feel reconnected with the land and surrounding nature. The host Rosalind and her husband (oh, and the three sheepdogs who were regular visitors, they have a lot of love to give) made me feel truly welcome and nothing was too much trouble during my stay. I would highly recommend this destination to anyone seeking some peace and tranquillity.

    Chris2016-06-07T00:00:00Z
  • the children's first reaction was wow. Seeing the tipis made them very excited and they couldn't wait to get out of the car and explore. The tipis and the caravan were really good and the paddock had been set out really well to allow you to have lots of different spaces. Rosalind made us feel really welcome and was very helpful about advice on the local area. We had a fantastic stay and were really impressed and would love to stay again.

    Shaun2016-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Rosalinds tipee was a great little experience for us and the kids aged 2 and 7 months. Saved having to put a tent up and gave us a lovely little break close to nature. The backup of the caravan made us feel more secure and meant the food stayed fresh in the hot weather. We only stayed 2 nights but the second night seemed easier as you get used to the proximity and sounds of wildlife. As Rosalind said, people live in these all year round so you can be very comfortable once you get used to it.

    Beata2017-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic stay at the tipi field and will definitely be returning again.

    Naomi2016-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • Myself and my friend stayed here for a quiet weekend getaway from the city. We were excited and amazed about the beautiful, scenic location and Rosalind made us feel so welcome, nothing was too much trouble. She even offered us an upgrade from the tipi to the caravan as the cows were noisy. It's a working farm so there's plenty going on around the site. It is basic but that's exactly right for a countryside camping trip and Rosalind made sure we had everything we needed. I'm looking forward to staying again and exploring the country walks and pubs.

    Joanna2017-06-26T00:00:00Z
  • Great place. Check-in was merely a hello and then we were left to our own devices which was what we wanted. The tipis are very large and with a full bathroom just steps away, it could not have been better. It rained while there but we remained dry and snug inside. It was a great weekend with lots of nice towns nearby (Tewkesbury, Ledbury etc).

  • A warm and cosy cottage, the grounds looked magical when it snowed heavily in December

  • The Poppies is a charming cottage I would highly recommend. It is full equipped with everything we need, it is spacious, clean and comfortable with private parking area and private garden. Dordie is a great host! She prepared a welcome pack for us with local wine, local apple juice, milk, cookies, etc., The garden was a blessing on two sunshine days. I love the lovely Pomme the dog, also sweet little lambs and pretty geese. We had spent a great weekend in the cottage.

  • This is a little gem of a cottage. Cosy, warm, comfortable and welcoming, it is attached to the owners home and is opposite another holiday rental property. Wonderful views over the garden from the kitchen. The most delightful aspect of the cottage for us was the silence. There is no passing traffic and that is precious and rare. We loved the woodburner, the comfy sofas and the vast and very comfortable bed. Thank you Dordie!

  • What a truly relaxing couple of days we had at Dordie & Graham’s beautifully tranquil place. The cottage contains everything you could possibly require; from the early morning country light filtering into the kitchen through the fruit trees outside to the large timber hipped main bedroom and cosy living room with its neat little woodburning stove (perfect for curling up in front of and playing boardgames). Dordie & Graham are incredibly kind & considerate and their love of the country and attention to detail is reflected throughout the layout of the cottage and the whole farm. The local wine Dordie had left in the fridge for us (together with a bottle of apple juice produced on the farm) was particularly welcome after a long drive down from London in the Easter traffic, and the fresh logs for the woodburner were especially appreciated after a long walk in the rain. The farm is a working entity and Dordie was delighted to introduce us to the animals including fascinating and unusual sheep (Jacobs - with a very impressive Ram), a herd of geese, a horse, young lambs (the joys of Easter) and the ever enthusiastic (but incredibly polite) Pomme the dog. Set amidst rolling countryside, this is a perfect base for exploring Cheltenham, the Forest of Dean and the Welsh border. Symonds Yat (a steep walk with the chance of seeing Peregrine Falcons from the top), the Forest of Wye Sculpture Trail and Wye itself (with scores of hidden gems like the “Ye Old Ferrie Inn”) are all on the doorstep and we shall certainly be returning to Dordie’s to explore more of this seemingly little discovered country!

    jt2016-03-27T00:00:00Z
  • This is a very special place indeed. Dordie makes every effort to make you feel welcome and comfortable. Nothing is too much trouble. We stayed for a month whilst waiting for our house purchase to complete and felt revitalised and ready to go forward after a very stressful six months. Highly recommended.

    Elaine2017-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • What a lovely place to stay, so quiet and peaceful. The cottage was amazing and the bed was so comfortable. Dordie made us feel most welcome. If you are looking for a relaxing getaway this is the place. We will definitely be coming back to stay for longer next time.

    michael2015-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • Dordie was very helpful and great at communication beforehand and during our stay. The location is beautiful and the farm setting is very tranquil. Our only issue was that the wifi didn't work and Dordie then provided a dongle which didn't work either. Unfortunately, I did need the Internet for work and so it was a bit of an inconvenience. If you are looking for a place to disconnect with some stunning countryside and lovely hosts this is the place for you. Thank you Dordie and Graham!

  • We enjoyed a very peaceful three weeks in the cottage. The beautiful garden was so relaxing, especially as we had lovely sunny weather. It was a bird watchers paradise. The cottage is outstanding, well equipped, and with such comfortable kingsize beds! Dordie made us very welcome. We enjoyed a superb gift pack on arrival including wine and other goodies. We were able to share her enthusiasm for her pets, especially Pomme the delightful Border Collie. She is an energetic and enthusiastic hostess, who makes you feel very at home and part of the family. This was our 7th visit and we will be back soon, I am sure.

  • Perfect. It was absolutely wonderful. The house was warm and cozy with sky windows that gave a view of the moon at night and the afternoon sun. It also has a small garden in front of it where you can sit and enjoy the fresh air. We loved meeting Dordie's animals - it was such a joy to see them so happy and taken care of very, very well. Dordie and Graham are such lovely people - the welcome and warmth they gave us is so memorable. They even let us stay a while longer at no extra cost because we checked in very late, and they wanted to make sure we had a lovely time. And we really did. Highly recommended. And we would love to go back!

  • Our stay at Middletown Farm Orchard Barn Cottage was simply awesome! The converted barn cottage is a very comfortable, clean and modern place to stay with its own private garden. It is in a beautiful and peaceful countryside setting with views from the cottage over the fields with the farm animals. Dordie was easy to communicate with and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome on the farm and to help us make the most of our time there with suggestions on interesting places to visit in the Cotswolds. We were not disappointed when visiting these places. We wish we could have stayed longer and would definitely return again if the opportunity arises. Highly recommended if you wish to escape from the stresses of modern life.

  • Dordie was amazing. Welcomed me, helped me whenever i needed help. She was always warm and friendly and went out of her way to make sure I was comfortable and enjoyed my stay. Orchard Barn was great, loved staying there. Loved the animals and Dordie is very unique when it comes to caring for them. The area is very peaceful, quiet, can hear the owls hooting at night. Highly recommend staying there.

  • Dordie' s barn cottage is a great little hide away. Nicely furnished and very peaceful, great for a relaxing break. Set in picturesque grounds with fab views. Dordie was a wonderful host and everything was how described in the description and set out as in the pictures. There is also a fantastic little farm shop next to the cottage that sells home made and local produce. Great location to explore the Cotswolds.

  • Dordie is an excellent host and Orchard Barns is a great cottage. I won't sing the praises too much in case it gets too popular as I want to come back. Facilities excellent, very clean, warm, spacious and lots of nice touches such as apple juice in fridge, cinnamon biscuits and wine.

    Miles2016-01-23T00:00:00Z
  • Dordie's farm is gourgeous. We spent the Bank Holiday there, and couldn't be more pleased. Dordie is a great host, and her animals are really beautiful and well treated. Our 20-months-old son was amazed. The Barn were we stayed is cozy and has everything you may need. Regions is fabulous and, despite the rainy weather, we really enjoyed the weeked. Definitely recomend Dordie's place!

The village itself is one mile away, with church, pub, cricket club etc. The Malvern Hills are 10 miles distant, the Forest of Dean about 15 miles.
  • Abbiamo decisamente amato The Loft Apartment! Grazie John e Rosemary, torneremo sicuramente! We definitely fell in love with the Loft Apartment! Couldn't hope for better: spacious, lovely furnished and fully equipped. The place is astounding: the real Gloucestershire countryside, the house has a lot of territory where happily live their animals. 2 horses 2 dogs and a cat, all friendly and lovely. The wealthiest group of chicken ever seen, they are happy and safe since their owner is vegetarian! Dulcis in fundo, the beautiful white peacocks. Thanks John and Rosemary, we'll come again!

  • Delightful! The apartment was immaculate and our hosts even left us milk, eggs, butter and bread to get us started as we were arriving so late. The location was amazing and John and Rosie were so friendly and helpful, giving us hand drawn maps of the area to guide us on our walks and advice about where to visit and recommendations for where to eat. Horses to pet and peacocks strutting around, the whole place was a joy! So quiet and peaceful with great wooded walks nearby. Exactly what we hoped it would be and more!

  • Hi fellow travellers, we have just had the most amazing week with Rosemary and John in Redmarley, their Airbnb in amazing, from the moment you arrive to the time you leave you are made most welcome, it is very close to the Cotswolds so you are able to visit all the lovely little towns. The Stables apartment is very cute and Rosemary makes sure she adds little touches, like flowers in little vases everywhere, even homemade bread made by John very yummy, the animals are lovely, Mr peacock loves to sing to you. We would certainly recommend their Airbnb to everyone, love Bron and Paul from NZ.

  • Myself and family have just returned from a 4 night break at the loft apartment and had a truly lovely time. This place is a little gem. From the delightful apartment which was more than well equipped to the wonderful gardens and animals that Rosie and John allowed us to enjoy. This place was a wonderful find and we are looking forward to returning so my children can see how Toby and Charlotte (2 chickens that Rosie let the children name) are doing. Nothing was too much trouble for Rosie and John and it was the little touches that made this a special find. Thank you for having us and look forward to staying with you again soon. Marion

The Dovecote at Pauntley Court is an enchanting house in which to stay. Poet Laureate, John Masefield described Pauntley Court as ‘a place of great beauty and strangeness’. Dating back to 1300s, the Dovecote has kept its original features and has been converted into a beautiful two double bedroom house, perfectly balanced by keeping the natural rustic features of the building without losing any of the high quality modern conveniences one would expect. Pauntley Court is steeped in history with it being the birthplace of Dick Whittington, who travelled from Pauntley to become Lord Mayor of London four times over, and The Dovecote soaks up the magical atmosphere that pervades this small estate. The Dovecote has access to the main formal gardens at Pauntley Court which guests are welcome to enjoy. There is a charming walled garden with a statue of Pan at its centre and also a cloister garden planted with pleached hornbeams and two deep herbaceous borders. The sunken garden has an ornamental pond surrounded by beds of tulips, alliums and roses, bordered by box and lovely oak balustrading created by a local craftsman. Quinces and medlars help to enhance the Elizabethan feel. At the back of the main house is the ruin garden, where foundations of a great house planned by the Somerset family, have been planted in yew. The garden uses stone and local bricks in an artistic manner, which might provide owners of gardens with inspiration, and which ensure even in winter the garden has an elegant bone structure. The Dovecote is located in the heart of the Gloucestershire countryside within easy reach of the market towns of Newent and Ledbury, the spa towns of Malvern and Cheltenham and the cathedral cities of Gloucester and Hereford, and Tewkesbury Abbey. The village of Pauntley is close to the Cotswolds, and yet gives you access to some wonderful walking areas including the Malvern Hills. If you want to come with friends, why not also book Elinor Fettiplace next door which sleeps two. This holiday at a glance Sleeps four guests. Two en-suite Super King double bedrooms (both 6’ beds can be converted to 3’ singles on request). Private garden with seating area and barbeque. Access to the main formal gardens at Pauntley Court. Two hybrid bicycles (men’s and ladies’) available for guest use. Guests are welcome to use the hard surface tennis court in the grounds of Pauntley Court. Massage and beauty treatments can be provided on-site by a qualified therapist. Children over 12 years welcome. Sorry, no pets. Parking space by the main house. WiFi. Minimum three night stay. Additional features Wood burning stove. Free standing electric cooker, small fridge, dishwasher. Large freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer in nearby outbuilding. Nespresso coffee machine. Television with sound bar and sub-woofer in sitting room. Television with Freeview in both bedrooms. Blu-ray player, DVD player, Bluetooth CD player, two digital radios. Garden table and chairs. Barbecue. Attractions and nearby amenities The grounds surrounding Pauntley Court are perfect for leisurely walks. Start at The Dovecote and follow the ‘Poets Walk’ down to the lake and River Leadon. Elinor Fettiplace is within easy reach of the market towns of Newent and Ledbury, where you will find a selection of shops and supermarkets to stock up on everything needed for your stay. There are some excellent pubs and restaurants nearby including The Butchers Arms in Eldersfield (advance booking is advised at this Michelin starred pub), Welland’s The Inn at Welland, The Royal Exchange at Hartpury and The Kilcot Inn in Newent. Both the Forest of Dean and Symonds Yat in the Wye Valley are only a short 30 minutes’ drive away. Eastnor Castle situated at the foot of the Malvern Hills is surrounded by a deer park, lake and arboretum. Have an English wine tasting tour at the Three Choirs Vineyard in nearby Newent. The International Centre for Birds of Prey is the World's oldest dedicated Bird of Prey Centre and has over 250 species including owls, eagles, hawks and vultures. Fascinating medieval architecture is waiting to be discovered at Hereford and Gloucester Cathedrals and Tewkesbury Abbey.

  • We couldn't have been happier with Dugmore cottage! Amanda and her husband were great hosts and went the extra mile to make sure we were comfortably settled (the bottle of prosecco and homemade loaf were also a welcome treat!) They had no issues accommodating for our 3 y/o border collie and let us use their secure paddock to exercise her which was a real bonus. We didn't explore the local area as we were attending a local county show but it would be a perfect base for those wanting to go and explore the Malvern Hills. We are already talking about returning for a holiday next year. Thank you!

  • Well since May 3rd this has been my 15th airbnb booking and without a doubt this accommodation has been the best we've stayed in. What a lovely place with genuinely lovely hosts. The property is extremely spacious and well kitted out with everything you could need. When we arrived Richard (host) and left a couple of bottles of local cider Inn the fridge for us and Amanda (host) bought us in a freshly baked loaf of bread, which were just great touches. We stayed in and cooked both nights so haven't explored the local area but we were left with a list of local establishments including directions etc so im pretty sure we'll be back to ensure we get out and about. Would highly recommend.

  • Amanda is a wonderful host with a spotlessly clean well equipped cottage making this truly a home from home stay. The little extras in the fridge are most welcoming especially after a long journey together with the little extras dotted around the cottage you may sometimes forget. The location is perfect for visiting Gloucester, Ledbury and the Malverns so it fits perfectly for a bit of retail therapy and walks with the dog who was also made very welcome. We were very impressed and have already asked if we can go back in the future. Thank you Amanda for making our weekend a relaxing stay.

A charming country house in a cul de sac, in rural surroundings, not far from M5, M50 and six miles from Gloucester and Ledbury, 12 from Cheltenham, 4 from Hartpury and 15 miles from lovely Malvern. An area popular for riding and country pursuits such as walking and cycling. Ideal for business personnel as breakfasts can be served very early and although Continental in style, no cooked breakfasts, very ample.

The Coach house has been recently decorated throughout. The kitchen and lounge are modern and open planned. The kitchen has a small dishwasher, with a hob, microwave and a fridge. We provide tea and coffee. The lounge area has a comfy sofa which turns into a bed which would be suitable to sleep a child. There is a flatscreen television connected to Freesat. The Coach house has its own central heating system to make it warm and cosy. Free Wifi is also available.
Located just outside Tewkesbury on the edge of the cotswolds, the Coach house is a great place to stay to explore the local area. Visit Easnor Castle for a family day out, take a long walks on the Malvern hills or enjoy the many festivals in Upton upon Severn and Cheltenham.
The accommodation is in a rural area and the nearest town is Tewkesbury which is a 10 minute drive away. Unfortunately we are not on a bus route so you will need a car.

  • Beautiful holiday rental with an impressive wood burning hot tub. Surrounding views were lovely and the house was decorated to a high standard. Beds were very comfortable and we have all the amenities we needed plus more. Nicely situated to explore the area but also far enough away to enjoy the peace and quiet. Would stay again in a heartbeat.

  • Great property with lovely interior design. It was perfect for our couples getaway and walks through the hills. Hot tub took a bit of time and effort to get going, but would still recommend to friends!

    Michelle2017-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • To start, the location of this accommodation was perfect for us (quiet, and out of the way). The facilities were modern and comfortable and the hot tub was lovely. We were even greeted with fresh eggs! Only thing you need to consider is that the bathroom is through the main bedroom, so those staying in the second bedroom have to pass through the main bedroom to access to bathroom (this is mentioned in Charlie's description). This didn't bother us at all, but should be taken into consideration. Overall, perfect for a couples retreat! Thank you for a lovely stay. :)

Grade two listed and dating from the early 17th century, Haw Farm is a sensitively restored, atmospheric house, which is comfortable and well equipped. Set within a large walled garden with an 18th century gazebo, it is on the banks of the river Severn, from which you are welcome to fish if you have a licence.
There are two sitting rooms, one with an open fireplace and one with a woodburner. The first load of logs is free, and I can bring more by arrangement. The kitchen is equipped with dishwasher, oven, microwave, kettle and toaster. In the garden there is a chiminea and a barbecue. There is a high chair.
There is a pub, the Haw Bridge Inn, a few hundred yards along the river bank, at the bridge. Around an hour's walk along the riverbank in the opposite direction, is another pub, the Boat at Ashleworth.
  • Beautiful house in a gorgeous location with a great host. We all enjoyed the stay very much!

  • We loved the house, it's character, artistic decoration and all the extra things which made it so comfortable and easy to stay in. Everything we could have needed was there. Eliza was the best host leaving us all the kitchen essentials and breakfast for our arrival, even spare toothbrushes in case we'd forgotten ours. Beds super comfy and plenty of fluffy towels for all. It makes all the difference! The garden is also heavenly, so much space and each room beautifully wild within the old walled garden. Such a peaceful location on the river, great walks right from the door. A nature loving, book reading, dog walking, bird watching paradise. We all loved it!

    Charlotte2017-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay in Eliza's stylish and comfortable farmhouse. Loads of space for all nine of us plus dog! Crisp white bedlinen and fluffy towels were a luxurious treat. Fantastic location and beautiful views of surrounding countryside. The welcome pack of breakfast goodies and bottle of wine was a really nice touch. Thank you!

  • Nigel communicated really well, showing concern and support for our trip. The space and the house are lovely, breakfast was great, and we could not have been better looked after. Altogether excellent.

  • A lovely home, a warm welcome, and a great base for exploring the countryside on our bikes. Great to meet all the dogs, horses, chickens etc as well! We appreciated the separate sitting room and TV. Small thing, but a hairdryer would a useful addition.

  • We had a fabulous couple of nights in this beautiful home and location. Nigel and Hilary were superb hosts and extremely helpful with suggestions for places to visit and local information. They really made us feel at home and the accommodation was spot on. We also had the pleasure of meeting their dogs Fudge and Jack. Highly recommended.

  • Gorgeous location, gorgeous house - the photos don’t do it justice! Great communication and we turned up late evening and were welcomed by Nigel and friendly dogs (after a territorial bark) with a much needed cup of tea and a grand tour. Lovely bedroom and en-suite with a heavenly rain shower - had completely forgotten about the private lounge with the comfiest sofa ever. Yummy breakfast of cereal and fresh fruit, homemade bread and marmalade and ‘proper’ coffee etc ... and had a lovely chat with Mr and Mrs. We will definitely recommend and stay again when in the area.

  • Nigel and Hilary are great hosts, kind, welcoming and thoughtful; the room is lovely, with smooth cotton bed linen and plenty of space to spread out and store your luggage (if you have any!) the en-suite bathroom has big, fluffy, absorbent towels, a lovely deep bath (very welcome after a long bike ride) and shower with a fab rain shower head. The guest sitting room - light and airy, with a couple of really comfy sofas and patio doors leading onto the patio - is a great place to sit and read a book with a cup of tea. Nigel kindly ferried us to and from a local pub (we'd arrived by bike), and we had eggs from Nigel and Hilary's hens for breakfast. If you are looking for a relaxing stay in a peaceful and beautiful country setting, (and if you fancy a visit to the Three Choirs vineyard, which is just up the road), Nigel and Hilary's b&b at Compton Barn is an ideal destination.

  • As soon as we turned in to the drive of Emmeline's stunning home we realised we had picked a winner and that was confirmed when we met our host, who is absolutely lovely. The large entrance hall led to an enormous kitchen/living space complete with Aga and Emmeline made us immediately feel welcomed and relaxed. Our room upstairs was one of the principal bedrooms and the bed was extremely comfortable - I need to find out where the pillows were from! The en-suite has a bath and shower and everything is recently built or refurbished to a very high standard. I've stayed in 5 star hotels that don't match this. After an amazing breakfast of blueberries+strawberries, cereal, croissant and eggs (all laid out beautifully again) Emmeline left for a school function and we asked if we could take her friendly dogs for a walk and she happily agreed we could. The garden is very big and you cant see any other houses, just a plethora of wildlife including lots of wild rabbits hopping around. It's quite idyllic. We walked up the lane to the village and didn't see a single car. We stayed 2 nights and on the one hand felt that this was our own home for the weekend and on the other spent some really great time chatting with Emmeline over drinks and tea. She is that rare mix of friendly, funny, sociable with great energy and intelligence. She really represents the essence of what AirBnB is (should be) all about; sharing your home with your guests; BnB taken to the ultimate level. We were in the area for a wedding at Eastnor Castle but our stay was so comfortable that next time our reason for being in the area will be to spend another couple of days at Emmeline's lovely house. Very highly recommended.

    Grant2015-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • Emmeline was a wonderful host and a very fun person to meet. We enjoyed our stay in her lovely home!

    Svetlana2015-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • I'll start by saying I had a great stay and would highly recommend! Even before meeting Emmeline I was pleased by the location of the house (well in countryside), large gardens, and no other house in sight. Perfect for a relaxing stay which I needed as had an important flight test after my 3rd night there (and was training all other days before at Gloucester airport). Emmeline was very welcoming, as her kids, who have been raised to very good manners. She made all efforts for everything to be perfect. The room was huge, more than I expected (no wide-angle effect on picture), very comfortable bed, and large bathroom with toiletries. If needing relaxing / studying, there were plenty of places to do (bedroom / additional living room for guests / gardens), but in all honesty the family was so nice that I ended up spending most of the time I spent at the house with them. After my flight test and a tiring day, I regretted having to take the road instead of staying there one more night, as living in the city I miss waking up in the countryside (and Emmeline's breakfast).

    Noe2015-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • Emmeline made us feel instantly welcome. We felt that everything had been thoughtful done - the bedroom and bed were very comfortable. The breakfast was delightful too. We would recommend this beautiful home and kind hospitality- certainly looking forward to booking up again! Jo & Ray

    jo2015-05-12T00:00:00Z
  • We had an ideal weekend stay with Emmeline. Her house, and the room, were incredibly high spec: the kind of standard throughout you'd expect in a very good hotel, light, clean and spacious. The bed was very comfortable and as the house is set alone in quiet countryside it all lends to a very peaceful night's sleep indeed! Emmeline was very attentive and went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed. She was happy to chat and spend time with us and we even had the pleasure of meeting her two lovely children.

    Edward2015-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful house in very pretty surroundings. Emmeline was so friendly and made me feel very welcome. Walked her dogs at nearby Eastnor Castle and also took her on at table tennis - match abandoned at a crucial point in the deciding set! Would recommend this B&B to anyone.

  • Very handy for Hartpury college, about 5 mins! Super room and bathroom for reasonable cost. As a couple this worked for us instead of a single bed in a student room. Our host was not in the house whilst we were there but communication was fine.

  • I did not actually get to meet Annabel on this visit but she made sure everything was provided for me. The house and room is superb and rather like staying at a spa! Beautiful location, lovely and quiet, everything was comfortable and clean. Thank you so much, I really feel I would rather like to buy this!

  • Beautiful home in a beautiful setting. Owners absent my whole stay so didn't know which rooms were available to me or how to use the coffee machine. Take spare toilet roll as it ran out and as had no contact with the owner couldn't let them know also take a mirror as there are no in sight (either in the room or bathroom). Other than that the bedroom is nice, basic but nice (no TV) and the bed was comfy and bedding clean. The other rooms...bathroom and kitchen were clean.

  • Such a lovely place, couldn’t recommend it more! Even better than the pictures, beautiful setting, romantic, cosy and feels very private- not overlooked at all. Ros and Nigel made themselves very available for if we needed anything but were not intrusive in any way. Couldn’t have asked for more!

Close enough to the local town to visit shops and fetch a takeaway yet far enough in the countryside to enjoy a clear night sky, and peace and quiet. The village is extremely quiet and perfect for complete solitude. Great for a getaway from busy city life.
  • We had the most wonderful night away in Jess' beautifully appointed shepherd's hut. The hut is perfectly formed - snug and cosy and a dream space to relax and unwind in with the view of the surrounding fields and visiting cows. What a perfect escape from the busyness of everyday life. Jess is a wonderful host and we arrived to fresh scones and a bottle of prosecco. It is these added touches along with many others that make for such a special stay. We hope to be back very soon!!

  • What a wonderful place! So very peaceful , relaxing, and with everything you might need. It’s even nicer than in the pictures, with all the perfect little touches to make it feel special. Extremely clean and well presented, with the space and design thought through perfectly. Great far reaching views of the hills and fields. Set in a remote feeling village yet still well connected to local cities and towns. Two great pubs in walking distance :) We booked just the day before as a spontaneous 1 night get away , Jess replied immediately even though it was Boxing Day! Thank you for everything Jess (and family!)

Mayfield Barn is in the quiet village of Sandhurst, two miles from Gloucester, close to Cheltenham, Forest of Dean & Cotswolds; the perfect base for exploring. The space is a modern converted barn in beside a 16th century cottage. There's a double bedroom, super-size rain shower and small but well appointed living space - ideal for couples, small families and solo travelers, business or pleasure. Dogs by request! For booking, please book in children (age 2+) and dogs equally as extra guests.
The space is a modern converted barn, located within the grounds of a 16th century cottage and opposite to a thatched farmhouse of the same age. Inside, you’re invited to fall into a cosy Norwegian 'snuggledown' duvet, relax in the super-size rain shower and chill out in the small but well appointed living space. And don’t stop there – step out and enjoy what the local area has to offer – space, peace and rural tranquillity. Consisting of only one master double bedroom and an overflow double sofa bed (located in the living space), the barn is ideal for a couple, those with young families and solo adventurers. Ten minutes from the M5 and 5 minutes from Gloucester, it’s also perfect for business travellers. Locally-sourced breakfast is included. Well controlled pets welcome.
Has a quiet rural setting that I love but also conveniently close to Gloucester or Cheltenham for shopping and entertainment. Close to the Forest of Dean and the Cotswolds and the river Severn for good experiences. Served well by the M5 and M4. The Cathedral and newly refurbished docks are a 'must see'. You may even see the famous Tall Ships.

    Daniela2017-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Stayed for 2 nights and found the accommodation to be of a very high standard and host, Janette, very welcoming and helpful. Lots of lovely goodies left for breakfast, more than we could manage! Very peaceful location, ideal to unwind and recharge. Would thoroughly recommend.

    Nina2017-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • It a good location as long as you have a car. There is a retail park a 5/10 minute drive away with a Dominoes pizza which was handy. Janette was very helpful before our stay, even finding a baby bath for us. when we arrived she was very friendly and helpful too. The place itself was ok for what we wanted. If you are looking for somewhere you can cook, this place isn't for you as there is a single tiny piece of worktop (about 30cms wide). We were unable to get any wifi on phones or tablet but our signal was good enough to get our own mobile Internet at least. I think it does say on details but just to reiterate, the garden is not secure for dogs and on a blind corner on a country road so be aware of that. All in all Janette was great, the food and beverages provided were great and the accommodation was ok.

    Angela2016-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • Una molt bona opció. Pot semblar complicat arribar-hi, però amb les seves indicacions és realment fàcil. Molt aprop tant de Gloucester com de l'autopista com de la zona de Costwolds.

    Xavier2017-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely quiet spot with fabulous views and yet really close to all amenities and Gloucester city centre. Cute apartment perfect for a getaway. Janette was helpful when we had a few queries. A nice touch to receive some fresh eggs as part of our breakfast...and a bottle of wine (we saved that for later).

    Fiona2016-06-20T00:00:00Z
  • The barn was lovely. Exactly as described with no wifi or TV which made it the perfect retreat. We brought 2 dogs and Janette was so welcoming. We also arrived late and Janette was accommodating and met us on arrival. The breakfast left for us with fresh eggs and fresh milk, along with bread, croissants, yoghurt, fruit, honey and jam was very appreciated and we were well fed. We did a 9 mile walk (about 4.5 miles each way) along the River Severn to the Red Lion pub which was really nice. Would recommend this place to anyone looking for a quiet trip away!!

    Kaitlin2017-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • Janette's place is lovely, self contained and peaceful. A great starting point for visits to the Cotswolds. The bed and duvet was truly comfortable. We loved the huge fluffy towels, the rain shower and most of all the farm fresh eggs. The place was spotlessly clean and had everything a guest could want. Worth noting that there is no TV and no WiFi but lots of books!

    Britt2017-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay! The place is nicely decorated, clean and well stocked by a very generous host - with fresh eggs and plums from the garden, amongst other things! There is no TV or WiFi but since we were looking to escape busy London lives that was no bad thing. It might be a little snug for 4. But overall, I would highly recommend!

  • My husband and I stayed at Linhay Farm for an evening and really enjoyed ourselves. The private flat was a nice retreat and relaxing. Jenny left us some freshly baked lemon cake and food for breakfast which was a nice touch.

  • Jenny and Mike are wonderful hosts, who did everything to make sure we felt at home and comfortable during our stay over Christmas. The place is beautiful, clean and cosy, and the views of the surrounding countryside are incredible. Couldn't recommend the place enough!

  • A very big thank you to Jenny and her husband as we had a very lovely stay. They live on an absolutely beautiful farm where we took long walks around the property among the sheep and got to feed Jenny beautiful horses. Our hosts were outstanding and the breakfast they provided was lovely. We will be back for sure! If you are looking for a some lovely down time with beautiful farm views ( an I mean beautiful) than this is the place to stay!!

  • My partner and I arrived at around 8pm to a smiling Jenny who then showed us round. We were attending a wedding at Birtsmorton Court and the location could not have been better! Mike provided a taxi there for us and it was such a pleasant night we actually walked home. Took less than 20minutes. The place itself is very cosy, warm and comfortable with all the amenities that you could need and there was even some homemade jam and cake in the fridge for us! The directions Jenny provides are great if you follow them to the letter, however I do think that perhaps there could be a wooden sign or plaque at the main road to notify people of the turning. My one criticism is the "king size" bed which is actually two single beds (of different heights) together. I probably couldn't have noticed but the two singles have two different mattresses, one was hard and the other soft - but then I move a lot in my sleep so noticed the difference. All in all though, great stay and would definitely go again.

  • A very warm welcome and appreciated the extra goodies we found in the fridge. We wanted a weekend away from it all and this lovely property hit the mark; beautiful spot, great walks, very relaxing. A very enjoyable weekend, thank you

  • We were going to a wedding at Birtsmorton Court and this accommodation was in the perfect spot, only 5 minutes away. We followed Jenny's instructions very carefully and had not problems finding the house in the dark. The annexe was much bigger than the photos suggest and the open plan living area was really nice. Jenny had left lots of goodies in the fridge so we had lots of choice at breakfast time. We thought the beds were very comfortable and didn't mind that it was 2 singles pushed together. Our only criticism would be the strong smell of oil which was either coming from the Range/boiler. However, after opening a couple of windows and letting the air circulate it was much better. It's a great base to explore the Malvern Hills.

  • Jenny was very accommodating and had provided us with everything we could possibly need. The rooms were spacious, warm and clean. Perfect for a wedding we were going to at Birtsmorton Court. Extremely peaceful location and will want to come back soon.

The Malvern Hills offers so much to do, walking, cycling, festivals for all tastes, pretty towns such as Ledbury and Upton, and lots of events at Eastnor Castle and Three Counties Showground.
  • Glamping at Up Sticks was absolutely brilliant! A group of 6 of us used this as a base for a walking trip to the Malvern Hills. The safari tent was spacious enough for us (6 adults) and well equipped with comfortable beds, armchair, sofas as well as a fully kitted kitchen (hob, toaster, kettle) and an easy to use log burner. The shower/toilet room was incredibly clean, spacious with a double shower and warmed by a heated towel rail. There was also a nice outside space which only the weather stopped us using.

  • A delight to stay at UpSticks Glamping in the middle of the countryside. The young ones loved the farm animals and outdoor adventure clue hunt. We especially enjoyed all the small touches and attention to detail. A yearly get together for us and this one has topped our chart of best places we have stayed. The sooner you go the longer the memories.....

  • A whole new meaning to the word Glamping, until you've Up Stick'd you've not had the real Glamour of it. Huge tents, great facilities, wonderful setting and personal touches add up to Top Tier Tenting!!! Visited with two young boys and grandparents, more than enough space for six of us, the boys loved being "up the ladder in the roof". The tents are in a lovely peaceful location with their own (night lit) boardwalk back to your private Shower and toilet which would not be out of place in a boutique hotel. We felt help was always on hand whilst also leaving us in peace, having Chickens, Sheep & Goats that the boys could feed only added to the sense of getting away from it. Everything you could think of wanting (and plenty of things you didn't think of wanting) is provided on arrival so you can relax straight away. Simply brilliant and they have it just right, go whilst you can before it gets booked up!!!

  • This was a fabulous place to stay. Great views from the tent which was hardly like a tent more a house. Comfortably slept 5 single adults with ample communal areas for games and eating! Everything we needed was at hand. The whole place was magical and the hosts were very friendly and helpful. It was a great find for our annual reunion. We also found lots of fun things to do in the local area as well as enjoying natural beauty of the location.

  • We had an amazing stay at Upsticks glamping. The photos of the tent don't do it justice, it's very cosy and has everything you need! The hosts were extremely helpful and left us the cutest welcome hamper. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone!
