  • Great location. Host very quick to respond.

  • Lucy's response to our request was really quick - less than a minute! End Cottage made an ideal base from which the two of us could explore the Burnhams and West Norfolk in general. The cottage was a typical Norfolk flint cottage, cosy and compact but well thought out with everything we needed. We did not meet Lucy, but she was swift, friendly and efficient in all our communications. Information at the cottage was clear and straightforward. Although part of a terrace the cottage felt secluded and private and the centre of Burnham Market was only a ten minute walk.

  • The home was a perfect base for the four of us. Just a short walk to the village centre with the lovely shops and friendly pub. The garden was lovely for morning coffee in the sun and the lounge area lovely to relax together.

    Jo2015-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely authentic cottage - a bit of a squeeze for 4 adults but still fun.

    David2018-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cottage five minutes walk from the town. Lucy allowed us to check in early and asked us if we needed anything.

    Penelope2017-04-17T00:00:00Z
  • Lucy was very quick to respond to questions both before and after we made our booking. She did everything she could to ensure our stay was comfortable. The cottage itself was small and quaint - exactly as expected. And Burnham Market was a lovely little town, with great pubs within walking distance.

    Nicola2016-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • End Cottage was delightful and full of wonderful period features. The garden was a real sun trap and we were able to eat out each evening, using the kitchen window as a convenient service hatch. It is just a short walk into all the tempting shops in Burnham Market and for even closer convenience the garage on Creake Road has a well stocked mini market. Lucy was an excellent host and very prompt with communications. The cottage is well equipped with everything you might want for a relaxing break.

  • We loved our short break at Chase Cottage. It was spacious (probably too big for two), well equipped and full of character! Our host, Mary, was extremely accommodating and very understanding. She quite literally thought of everything and was very quick to respond to our queries. Overall a beautiful area and an ideal escape for those looking to get away from everyday life!

The Old Hardware is a beautifully presented Grade II listed property in the heart of a working village but close to the sandy beaches of the North Norfolk Coast. It has been stylishly refurbished resulting in a cool, contemporary holiday cottage.
The Old Hardware is a beautifully presented spacious Grade II listed property. It has been stylishly refurbished resulting in a cool, contemporary holiday home for 2 adults and up to 2 small children. This is a perfect place to stay in the heart of the working village of Docking, close to Burnham Market and within a 10 minute drive of the beautiful North Norfolk coast, with its miles of wide sandy beaches and big open skies. This uniquely designed house with a classic/modern twist is a super place for romantic getaways with a smart ground floor living/dining room combining historic features and contemporary design. Upstairs is a gorgeous master bedroom - a lovely high-ceiling room with many original features such as large sash windows and timber floor. A welcome bottle of wine is provided upon arrival.
Norfolk Coast: The village is perfectly placed for the North Norfolk Coast and its long, fine sandy beaches. Brancaster and Thornham are closest but Holkham and Wells are also worth a look. Be sure to visit Wells-next-the-Sea, a delightful unspoilt historic town on the North Norfolk Coast with a jumble of old buildings and lanes still existing from its heritage as a port and former maltings industry. The picturesque quay and waterfront is still very much a working port with stalls selling local shrimps and crabs Docking: All roads in North Norfolk seem to lead to Docking. It's a busy working village with an excellent small supermarket and post office, a fish and chip shop, blacksmith, village pub, a large village playing field, tennis court and bowling green. Docking also has its own coarse fishing lake that is available on a day ticket basis. Stately homes: If you fancy a bit of culture North Norfolk has some beautiful stately homes, most of which open their doors and gardens to the public. Holkham Hall, built between 1734 and 1764 by Thomas Coke, the 1st Earl of Leicester. This elegant Palladian style mansion, which reflects the first Earl's natural appreciation of classical art, was described by Pevsner as “the most classically correct house in Britain". Beaches: This stretch of coast has more than its fair share of beautiful beaches and they are some of the cleanest in Europe. Wells Beach is a beautiful sandy beach edged by pine woods. Holkham Beach on the Holkham Hall estate is equally stunning (The all day parking ticket is transferrable to Beach Road car park, Wells-next-the-Sea). The Victoria Hotel is opposite the beach car park entrance. Winner of Coast Magazine's Best British Beach Award 2011. Eating and Drinking: North Norfolk has some excellent places to eat along the coast and a little bit inland. From Michelin Star Restaurants to fabulous fry ups in a seaside cafe. Good, wholesome food is available including of course locally caught fish and Cromer Crabs. Eating out can range from cosy pubs to end a long and windswept walk on one of the glorious beaches through to fantastic gourmet restaurants to celebrate a special occasion. Walking and Cycling: Norfolk can boast coast, country, fen and forest walking — we can offer you pretty much everything here! Pull on your walking boots and get out to explore. Enjoy tramping through golden leaves and russet woodlands in the autumn, or take a brisk walk past crisp hedgerows in the crackling frosty winter. Spring and summer are spectacular with colourful wild flowers and sandy beaches. Wildlife: Large numbers of ducks and geese winter in North Norfolk and most of these species can be seen on the lagoons at nearby Titchwell Reserve. The commonest species are teal, wigeon, mallard, gadwall and shoveler, with smaller numbers of pintails and goldeneyes. In the evenings, thousands of pink-footed geese can be seen flying in formations to their roost sites along the coast.
  • The Old Hardware cottage was wonderful. It felt comfortable and luxurious- the enormous bed was definitely a highlight! It was very well appointed and it was great to be greeted by the bottle of fizz and the pint of milk. We made full use of the docking station and the dvds too. All contact with Stephen and Nina was timely and efficient. The cottage served as a great base for exploring the North Norfolk coast, particularly its proximity to Titchwell. I would definitely recommend the Old Hardware cottage-a delight to come back to every day.

  • Thank you so much for such a lovely stay! Beautiful location - and very easy drive to Wells. There is a shop close-by (10 min walk) stocked with all the basics and a fish and chip shop across the road. The property itself was perfect for us. A well-equipped kitchen, comfy sofa and bed and large bathtub. It was tastefully furnished and decorated. We felt really comfortable and at home there. Would certainly recommend to others and would love to come back if we're in the area again!

    Francesca2017-06-01T00:00:00Z
  • Enjoyed our stay at the Old Hardware Store, property was spacious and clean with modern touches. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking. The bed was very comfortable and we slept well. There was great communication before and during our stay. Only downside for us was the road noise, which we felt was very noticeable during busy times.

    Louise 2017-06-09T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed out stay in Docking, which is in an excellent location for exploring the North Norfolk coast. It is quite a busy village, with several roads converging on the village, and the accommodation is on a road going through the village, but we still slept comfortably - the Super Kingsize bed is excellent. The level of modernisation and comfort is excellent. A bottle of Prosecco and other provisions were left for us. There is a very good fish and chip shop just across the road and along a little bit! Plenty of really good pub restaurants nearby. All in all, we would recommend this accommodation.

    John2017-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely cottage, beautifully decorated with everything thought of. Extra special very large bedroom and bed! Stephen and Nina did everything to make our stay comfortable, with some lovely additional touches. Docking is a great base for exploring North Norfolk; easy to get to the coast and inland villages and attractions. Would highly recommend this cottage.

Apricot Cottage is a beautifully presented Grade II listed property in the heart of a working village but close to the sandy beaches of the North Norfolk Coast. It has been stylishly refurbished resulting in a cool, contemporary holiday home.
Apricot Cottage is a beautifully presented spacious Grade II listed property. It has been stylishly refurbished resulting in a cool, contemporary holiday home for 6 - 8 people. 10 - 12 can be accommodated in conjunction with the adjacent property, the Old Hardware. This is a perfect place to stay in the heart of the working village of Docking, close to Burnham Market and within a 10 minute drive of the beautiful North Norfolk coast, with its miles of wide sandy beaches. This uniquely designed house is a super place for families with a fabulous kitchen and living and dining rooms both with wood burner stoves. There is another large downstairs room which can be used as 2nd living room or made up as a 4th bedroom. Upstairs is a gorgeous master bedroom - a lovely high-ceiling room with many original features. Two other bedrooms are available, one double and one with twin beds.
This elegant Palladian style mansion, which reflects the first Earl’s natural appreciation of classical art, was described by Pevsner as “the most classically correct house in Britain”. Winner of Coast Magazine’s Best British Beach Award 2011.
  • Handy for coastline and countryside this cottage will surprise you with its modern interior and space. Docking may not the the prettiest village in the county, but it's handy for coasts to north and west.

  • Our family of four just got back from a stay at Stephen's amazing cottage. We have two young children (18 months and almost 4) and the cottage could not be more perfect for us, it really made for a wonderful holiday. The listed building has been thoughtfully renovated with an open plan arrangement and amazing glass panels to let in the light; the photos on airbnb don't quite do it justice. The hosts, Stephen and Nina, have literally thought of everything. There's tea, coffee, condiments, cooking oil, ice, kitchen roll, toilet roll, dishwasher tablets, washing machine tablets, lots adult's and children's books, a big box of brio wooden trains and tracks, logs for the wood burners, every piece of kitchen equipment imaginable, leaflets of all the local attractions....they have just thought about how to make your stay as comfortable as possible, so that it's easy to just settle in and relax. The cottage was also set up perfectly for our young children, with stair gates top and bottom, a travel cot and a high chair at our disposal. We had such a fantastic time, would thoroughly recommend it and can't wait to return. Thank you, Nina and Stephen!

  • We have just stayed in the cottage as two families of 4. The cottage layout was ideal and provided everything we needed and more. The location of the cottage was an ideal base for exploring the north Norfolk coast. Stephen was quick to reply to any queries before and during the stay and was there to meet us on arrival to show us around. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and thought it was great value for money and hope to return. Thank you.

  • Apricot Cottage is a beautifully designed contemporary house filled with light which feels luxurious as well as being welcoming for families. The cottage is in a great location in Docking to visit many of the beautiful nearby beaches and fantastic foodie pubs. Stephen was welcoming and friendly and as we booked very last minute, really quick to respond to our enquiry. The cava on arrival, kindling for the fire and basics for a cuppa in the fridge are all welcome touches. We would love to come back to this special place on the north Norfolk coast. Happy days!

    Carolyn2016-04-15T00:00:00Z
  • Stephen was a great host, the cottage was lovely and it's in a fabulous area. All as good as if not better than advertised - thank you!

  • What a fantastic place to stay, cosy with the panoramic fire in the lounge, and cool with full featured galley kitchen. Stephen was an excellent and communicative host. Cannot fault the architectural style, and decor. The wild beauty of the coast, and network of lanes and villages so unique, and special to north Norfolk. We'll be back for sure.

For those who enjoy the outdoor lifestyle. A beautifully restored original "Shepherds Hut" situated in the countryside, close to the wonderful North Norfolk beaches. Log fire. A truly unique fun "Glamping experience."
A beautiful restored "original" Shepherds Hut with homely comforts. Toasty log woodburner. Double Bill Brown Bed which can be converted to Table/Seating area mode plus benches. Dresser. Electric socket to recharge phones, cameras, hairdryer etc. But we want our guests to enjoy the simpler joys of life. No Internet!! Private outside area to relax and chill. As the Shepherds Hut moves location occasionally we do not have a fixed bathroom facility. There is a chemical loo and hot enclosed Alfresco shower- All part of the fun! Sadly as there is open log burner etc this is not safe or suitable for children. Adults Only.
The Hut is situated on an arable farm, with easy reach of the farmhouse. There are ducks, guinea fowl roaming free range about the pond area. Owls hooting at night with a general country feel. We are approx 5 -10 minutes drive from Holkham and Brancaster beaches.
  • Perfect for a relaxing weekend away. The hut was clean, cosy and comfortable. The outside shower was something different, but definitely a good different (lovely and hot too). Lovely big continental breakfast with plenty of choice. Overall had a great stay here.

    Olivia2017-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed in that Shepherds Hut for 2 nights over a weekend in August. It's situated in a beautiful and very private location. Suzy has thought of everything that you could possibly need, and it was a real home from home, beautifully decorated and presented. A continental breakfast hamper was left for us each day & it was delicious. We felt very pampered guests. This is a wonderful part of Norfolk, lots to explore and lots of lovely places to visit & places to eat. We will certainly be making a return visit.

    Laura2017-04-16T00:00:00Z
  • Really lovely spot and great little cosy hut! It was super cosy with the log burner on despite the weather. Suzy left us a fabulous breakfast hamper both nights for the morning which we demolished. The shower and toilet are in outside huts but perfectly adequate and the ducks and the little plot were lovely! I'd definitely recommend and stay again!

    elaine2015-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • Charming hut with basic but comfortable facilities. Suzy was a good host with swift communication. She has a great knowledge of the local area and provided good tips on local restaurants and attractions. A very enjoyable stay.

    Michael2016-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • Just about perfect Glamping experience. Suzy has thought of everything... and I mean everything. Gourmets must book the Duck Inn up the road for top notch fine dining with no stuffiness... our earlier lunch at La Gavroche in London didnt come close!!!

  • This is a great house, in a great location. There are two complete bathrooms, but only one with a shower - you should know that if you're four women travelling together, who all want to shower! The house was very clean and the perfect size - we loved it!
