This very comfortable home has the room to move, very spacious on acreage. Nothing small here, I make sure that everything is spotlessly clean and comfortable for your stay. You will get the wow factor on your arrival. Nestled on a beautiful hill on acreage, spectacular gardens and breakfast provided, free range eggs, bread, butter, milk, tea, coffee, etc, I have made this oasis value for all my guests, refreshing in a world of overpricing, looking forward to your arrival
This home is completely private with all facilities including spa with views to Mt Warning set on acreage. Two master bedrooms are very large and comfortable, surrounded with verandas for shade and deck chairs to enjoy the gardens. Sleeping is guaranteed with the peace and quiet. There is so much to see in the Tweed Valley, you will have to choose wisely, Art Gallery, Natural Arch, Mt Warning, Border ranges, Cafes, Beaches, or just be still in the forest, this area is world heritage, a plethora of beauty.
We are very lucky to live in an exquisite valley with open spaces and friendly people. The area is as quiet as can be, the only noise you will hear is nature making its song.
  • Great well equipped place with the most magnificent views. We stayed two nights and had a great time exploring Mt Warning and surrounding suburbs. Would recommend staying at this property

  • Wow, what a stunning view. We needed a little escape and found Carols bnb. the place was great, beds super comfy and had everything we needed. Carol greeted us and then we relaxed and enjoyed watching the sunset from the beautifully manicured gardens. thanks so much for having myself and my 2 teenage boys.

  • Thanks for our healing weekend in Uki Carol

    Bel2016-12-03T00:00:00Z
  • Uki is a beautiful and we'll captured by Carols place. You get the most awesome view of Mt Warning from the front door. The house sleeps five in three rooms a single and two doubles. You must check out the dining table. There is TV and air con & is close to the village shops. Carol just introduced herself and explained about the accommodation, leaving us to it. We loved the way we could just relax and enjoy the Christmas season with our family at Carols place.

    Tony2016-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • We had one night in Carol's place as a stopover on our way through. Carol was very friendly and made us and the dogs feel very welcme. Her place was clean, comfortable and secluded just as promised and with Uki and its quaint shops, cafes and excellent pub (new managers - very switched on!) just few minutes walk away it was perfect for what we needed. We would happily stay there again. Note: take a torch for the walk back from the pub!

    Simon2017-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • Carol is a great host! And what a STUNNING view from her gardens, uninterrupted of Mt Warning!

    Julia2016-12-16T00:00:00Z
  • House was really great. Clean, fully furnished, big size and comfortable. Carol was very helpful and overall very happy.

    Nathan2017-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • Carol was easy to communicate with. We went to a wedding at Mavis's Kitchen, a 5 minute drive from Carol's accommodation. There were five of us and we all had comfortable warm beds to return to on quite a chilly night. It was lovely to wake up to a beautiful view of Mt Warning.

We are a walk to Murwillumbah town, with its gorgeous cafes, antique and boutique shops. Murwillumbah sits on the Tweed river and is surrounded by mountains and subtropical forest. We are 25 mins from Gold Coast Airport, 40 mins from Byron Bay and 20 mins to stunning Cabarita Beach. We have a yard for kids to play in which opens onto a reserve. All we ask is that you please feed and cuddle our cat and water our garden if it’s dry. Sleeps up to 7. Parking under house for 3 cars plus rear access.
  • Simon has a beautiful place surrounded by lush greens. Its quite and calm, though bit old property but very very strong value for money. I would not call it luxurious, but it has all the amenities of living in a house. Its like living in a home away from home. Place is slightly off the gold coast, but actually help you explore some off the track very beautiful surroundings. Given a choice I would luv to buy the place nearby. I thank Simone for her hospitality and thoughtfulness for keeping things in line with our requirements. Her kitchen garden with cucumber and tomatoes was our daily staple breakfast diet. Would luv to visit the place again.

Our comfortable two bedroom cottage is situated on the Tweed River with views to Mt Warning. It is located at the end of a quiet cul de sac in the town of Murwillumbah and set in a picturesque valley just a short drive from the Tweed and Gold Coasts.
We are within walking distance to the shopping centre, cafes, pubs and clubs of Murwillumbah, Greenhills Function Centre and the Tweed Regional Art Gallery with the Margaret Olley Centre and cafe. There are many attractions in and surrounding the town including the heritage listed national parks of Mount Warning and the Border Ranges. We are 45 minutes drive from Byron Bay, 30 mins from the Gold Coast and 15 mins from the Tweed Coast beaches. We are approximately 2 hours south of Brisbane and the Gold Coast airport is a 25 mins drive. Our cottage has two bedrooms both with queen size beds and ceiling fans and can comfortably sleep four people. There is one bathroom. The property is not suitable for children under the age of 12 years.
We love the serenity and the views in particular the amazing sunsets (and full moon sets if up early enough). We enjoy listening to visiting magpies and kookaburras, the splash of fish jumping in the river and the occasional appearance of ducks and pelicans and in the warmer months of dolphins in the river. The neighbourhood is quiet and peaceful and the neighbours warm and friendly.
  • The place was impeccably clean and Maureen was the perfect host - gave us complete privacy while helpful when we needed guidance. Beautiful fresh strawbs in fridge and basic foods were a really nice touch. Great location on the river and a short stroll into town for coffee etc. Cannot fault our stay, the deck on sunset was ideal.

  • My family & I had really lovely stay at Maureen & Peters cottage, I wish it had been longer. The cottage is very clean, beautifully presented & very comfortable. Everything you need is catered for. The location is gorgeous, right on the river with amazing views. Maureen & Peter were very welcoming & helpful. We will definitely be back.

  • Maureen and her husband warmly welcomed my family into their beautiful cottage. The house is clean, well equipped and has a simple and elegant feel. The cottage is in a great location, with lovely views, and a pleasant 10 minute stroll to town. The children had a great time in the pool and my partner made use of the kayak. The whole family is very keen to return to this superior acommodation in a fantastic part of NSW and Australia.

  • Our stay at Maureen's really exceeded our expectations. The property is set on a beautiful spot in the Tweed Valley overlooking views of the river and mountains and was wonderful looking at the view while eating breakfast after a morning swim in the pool! Maureen and Peter were extremely helpful and friendly hosts. The little extras including chocolates, fruit and freshly cut flowers were nice touches in an already immaculate home. Thank you!!

  • Perfectly stylish, amazing facilities, wonderfully comfortable & spacious. Sitting above the town in a gorgeous private garden with views down the Tweed River. We have stayed in many air BnB apartments around the world - this was easily one of the best. Could have stayed a week and will be back for sure. Top base for a holiday.

  • Don’t hesitate for a second to book with Paula and Barry! The accommodation and location are even better than the pictures suggest. The house is a comfortable 15 minute walk from the cute country town. Just be prepared for the hill back to the house! Paula and Barry are warm and welcoming and they’ve gone beyond to make sure we were comfortable. Extra towels, a fridge full of stable ingredients and plenty of helpful information on the local area. We had the perfect weekend! Thank you

  • Paula has created a fantastic and stylish space. Perched atop a hill and overlooking Murwillumbah, with view of the river, this AirBnb was an amazing find. My friend had stayed in many airbnb's and said this was her favourite yet. We loved sitting outside on the patio, glass of wine in hand and enjoying the beautiful outlook. Inside is spotlessly clean and very private. Paula was a great host and we would definitely recommend her place.

    Korana2018-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • Relax in such a beautiful home, overlooking spectacular views of the Tweed river. Although a great location to be based when exploring the area, it is very hard to leave, with Paula's attention to detail, thinking of your every need - a real soul saver! I couldn't recommend this more!

Queenie is a beautiful house on the hill overlooking the Tweed River. She is gracious and welcoming and an easy walk into town and a short drive to #Tweed Regional Art Gallery, Margaret Olley exhibition, Mt Warning, Cabarita beach and surrounds.
Queenie is light, bright and breezy. She is full of character and vintage finds, lovingly restored to welcome visitors to Murwillumbah and give them a home away from home experience. Bedding configuration is one king size bed and one queensize bed. Beautiful linen, TV in the main bedroom. Coffee plunger a hair dryer and beach towels, and basic supplies. There is also a separate media room with a substantial DVD collection and plenty of books and assorted magazines. There is no WiFi but it is available at cafes down the street, within easy walking distance.
Brilliant neighbourhood, overlooking the local pool, Tweed River and Murwillumbah township. Quiet but only a short walk to town and restaurants, cinema and food stores. Beautifully Green and leafy and the view from Queenie is really something!
  • Queenie has such character and Jane knows all the tricks to make her guests feel welcome. The decor is outstanding, thoughtful, restful. Loved that the main room did not have TV, it was in a special snug. The bed linen is sheer luxury. Everything one could want is in her well stocked pantry. Stacks of books, CDs, DVDs. Modern kitchen with every utensil. Best B & B ever.

  • Queenie is gorgeous. We loved the eclectic styling of the house and had the most comfortable and lovely stay. The only way this stay could be improved is if wifi was available. We loved our stay here.

The bookshelves had plenty of interesting reads, lots of magazines and movies to choose from. The house is located perfectly, walking distance to town and lovely views of the area. Jane our host thought of everything, I highly recommend Queenie as a place to stay and hope to visit again someday, THANKYOU!

Metres from the Tweed Gallery, with its stunning views, impressive exhibitions, popular cafe & permanent exhibition of Margaret Olley's house and artworks. Situated in the Green Cauldron, enjoy amazing views, family-friendly activities, music festivals & happenings all year. 40 minutes from Byron Bay and 5 minutes from Murwillumbah, with amazing eateries, galleries, antique shops and clothing boutiques. 30 mins drive to stunning beaches north & south, only 30 mins from Gold Coast airport.
The garden apartment is nestled among the trees and is light, bright, spacious and private. The studio is tastefully decorated and has its own private, lockable entrance. Luxuriate in a brand new queen canopy bed or entertain on the extendable dining table. Enjoy music, TV, a DVD or the view from the sofa bed, perfect for an extra guest or a child (please note it's not suitable for taller people). The kitchenette is well equipped, with an induction stove and a small oven/toaster, a microwave, a 3/4 fridge, crockery, cutlery. and a few cooking essentials like tea and coffee, salt and pepper and olive oil. We have a portable fan in summer and a space heater in winter. The bathroom has plenty of storage space and a Tastic heating/cooling/lighting system. Please note there is NO internet access at the property, which is not a problem for most guests who are happy to have a digital detox during their stay. Those with Optus coverage can get patchy reception. Other providers are fine.
We have lots of info on things to do and see in the area, including a recent magazine article on the town of Murwillumbah. We can also recommend good eateries in the area. Hillside Hideaway is located on the same road as the iconic Tweed Regional Art Gallery. Enjoy a late breakfast at the gallery from 10am Wednesday to Sunday after a picturesque 1.5km stroll appreciate the art and the awe inspiring views from the gallery. Take an even shorter walk to Dallis Park and head to the river which has some beautiful and private picnic spots with great views of Mount Wollumbin (Mt Warning). Take a 5-minute drive into the thriving town of Murwillumbah. Watched over by the awe inspiring majesty of Mt.Wollumbin, and surrounded by 5 World Heritage National Parks, the countryside around Murwillumbah is a blend of rolling green hills and gently flowing rivers, punctuated with pockets of sugar cane, banana plantations, hobby farms and small village communities. The town itself has a lot to offer; including many smaller art galleries, funky furniture shops, clothing boutiques and impressive eateries, a weekly farmers' market, as well as some of the best Art Deco architecture in the country. Continue down Bakers Road, heading away from the gallery and turn left at the end to reach the road to Mount Wollumbin (Mt Warning) and to the creative and cute little town of Uki.
  • Andia and Jeremy were great hosts. They were accommodating and had great communication beforehand and throughout our stay. The studio is beneath the main house and you can hear small living noises from upstairs, this didn't bother us and the noise was kept to a minimum at night and in the morning. The studio is well set up to do your own cooking using a pan if you like. We cooked dinner every night and the kitchen was stocked with utensils we needed. Once you are at the studio there isn't a lot to do within walking distance. We just did big day trips to all the nearby waterfalls, hikes and beaches and then relaxed once we got back at night. It was a great way to be able to see the northern hinterlands and beaches. We had a lovely stay. Thanks again Andia and Jeremy.

    Nadine2018-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Andia’s place was such a pleasant surprise. A very stylish tastefully designed minimalist basement studio apartment in some of nature’s most beautiful bounty. Just far enough out of murwhillumbah to make you forget murwhillumbah (sorry murwhillumbah residents!), but close enough to be only a 10 minute drive (and that’s with road works right now). The studio apartment is perfect for a getaway. Quite sizable. Very clean and tastefully decorated. Hosts were exemplary. Me and my two small kids loved the vibe. I read some comments about upstairs noise - it’s true it is a basement apartment with a house on top and you can hear people walking about (and bessy the dogs excitement at her owners getting home!). But if you think of it as being just like any queenslander two story home the “noise” was nothing and perfectly tolerable. The only way I can see this apartment being improved is with addition of air conditioning. But still it remained cool enough even in the northern rivers most intense heat. We will definitely return.

    David2017-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • I was so impressed by Andia's place. The space is huge and so well appointed with everything a traveller could need to feel at home and comfortable. It's clear she took time to think of all the little details. I loved the coffee and how homely it all felt. The bush surrounding the home is absolutely stunning and yet there is a lovely town and art gallery close by as well. It was so relaxing. Andia and Jeremy are such welcoming hosts. Can't wait to come back!

    Suzanna2017-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Andia and her partner are very nice hosts, located in a good spot with leafy surrounds and looking out to hills and only 5 minute drive into town for restaurants, cafes, shops etc. Studio equipped with basic cooking facilities if you wish to use and everything else you need for a comfortable stay.

Everything you could need, privacy and comfort together with prompt and efficient communication both before and during our stay. Andia provided us with information on various restaurants and coffee stops in and around the area which was great. Would definitely stay again.

Very much a traditional style agricultural centre, Murwillumbah is located nearly exactly in the middle of the Mt Warning caldera with the nearby Mount Warning commanding almost every view. You'll hear locals refer to it as "Mur-bah" and debate the claim that Murwillumbah means "Place of many possums" in the local aboriginal dialect. With a number of historic buildings in the art deco or federation style along Main Street, many of the shop fronts reflect the era, while there are also a tempting range of al fresco cafes and eateries scattered along its length for you to sit, relax and enjoy the ambience of a small country town. A diverse range of people coexist peacefully and celebrate each year with the Tweed Banana Festival, the second oldest festival in Australia. The town itself has a lot to offer; from some of the best examples of Art Deco architecture to be found anywhere in the country to the award winning Tweed River Art Gallery. The Tweed Valley actually boasts the highest number of artists per capita than any other shire in Australia. It would seem that creative individuals are inherently drawn to the picturesque Tweed Valley because of its natural beauty. Murwillumbah, the town branded affectionately as the “Heart of the Tweed” is perfectly positioned in the heart of the magnificent Tweed Valley, just 25 mins South of Coolangatta/Tweed Heads, 20 mins West of the Tweed Coast and 30 mins North from popular Byron Bay. Murwillumbah is a picturesque town that spreads along the western bank of the Tweed River and up into the hills of the Tweed Valley. Surrounded, as it is, by the rim of the world's largest extinct shield volcano and bordering the Tweed River, almost every street has magnificent mountain, river and valley views. As well as being the gateway to five of Australia's World Heritage listed National Parks, Murwillumbah is home to the World Heritage Rainforest Centre - a visitor information centre which also houses a National Parks and Wildlife Service office. The magnificent Mt Warning is the core of the ancient Caldera and it towers over the township of Murwillumbah like a prehistoric guardian. Recently Murwillumbah was named the 9th most desirable place to live in Australia, this was based on a number of factors some of them being natural beauty, property values, welcoming locals and good infrastructure.
  • Good sense of space - beautiful view. (A photo of the outside of house will help travellers find it & visualise it better). We did find the road noise (Fri/Sat evening) frustrating at night... Photos give great impression/high expectations - but my experience was a little 'mixed'... inside is nice.

  • Beautiful home with plenty of room for 6 (plus) people, super easy check-in, open backyard but really friendly neighbours that welcome us and our 2 dogs. Great access to the river with stunning view from the back deck. Relaxing atmosphere with the only distraction being the busy road although Lyndall had advised of this at the time of booking. Would definitely stay again with a hope to bring friends that have a small boat to make better use of the river location.

  • We really enjoyed the scenery and the river. It was worth the drive from Sydney. Kids loved kayaking across the river daily and swinging from the rope across the river with the neighbours kids. Lovely neighbours too. Few good places in the town for brekky and lunch. My wife had a couple of relaxing massage and Reiki sessions in town. The views were breath taking in the mornings and evenings with mountings in the background. We really enjoyed our stay.

  • I really enjoyed my stay. It's a great space, very generous self contained area. I would recommend this to anyone. I don't feel it would be suitable for wheelchairs. May was a very friendly helpful host,

  • You have to stay at May's wonderful secluded hideaway. Our stay was just perfect. We will definitely come back and would highly recommend.

  • May is a wonderful host and the bungalow-style accommodation was perfect for our needs (a couple with a large dog). We enjoyed dinners in the verandah overlooking an exuberant tropical garden while enveloped in the beautiful fragrance of the night jasmine. Also, the pool was a welcome break during some very hot days. We appreciated the May looked after our dog so we could spend the afternoon at the Margaret Olley - Tweed Regional Gallery. Thank you May for making our stay easy and relaxing and thank you for the night jasmine cuttings! We hope they will be flourishing soon :)

  • Mays place is good. Clean and equipped with shortbread biscuits and fruit. I was welcomed by may, so excited to meet the pups and very easy going about their difficulty acclimatising being on a 1 acre property, Sebastian is a puppy.

Fully self contained studio apartment - An art gallery/studio recently renovated and artfully styled with a qwerky arty vision. The art studio had been used over the years in filming artists from around Australia for an International TV Show called 'Colour in your Life'. A quiet, peaceful area with native birds, calming breezes and spectacular night views, especially when the cane fields are burning - definitely a beautiful place to retreat, create, rest, regenerate, or just be...
Stunning Views This special place overlooks the Border Ranges of Qld and NSW - Murwillumbah which is located in the centre of the stunning Tweed Valley, and only 15 minutes from the pristine beaches of the Tweed Coast, 40 minutes north of Byron Bay and 30 minutes south of the Gold Coast. Watched over by the awe inspiring majesty of Mt Warning (Wollumbin), and surrounded by 5 World Heritage National Parks, the countryside around Murwillumbah is a blend of rolling green hills and gently flowing rivers, punctuated with pockets of sugar cane, banana plantations and small village communities. There are so many stunning places close by that will inspire the artist within! The studio is a short walk down the hill to Murwillumbah's main street, fantastic boutique's, local stores and wonderful cafes and restaurants. Short term stays are preferred, longer term stays considered. I hope to see you soon :) Mealie
The Murwillumbah Hospital is a stroll away if you are visiting friends or family. Parking spaces available right outside the studio.

Our home is a mid-century art deco Queenslander located on the hill overlooking Murwillumbah with spectacular town and mountain views. Walk into town (1km), enjoy great coffee, and get to know the friendly locals. If you're a morning person, watch the sun rise from the balcony. The Tweed Regional Art Gallery (featuring the wonderful Margaret Olley exhibition), rainforest walks and swimming holes, Mt Warning, Cabarita beach, Brunswick Heads, Byron Bay and Mullumbimby are only a short drive away.
This is a private apartment that takes up the entire upstairs floor of a two-storey house. The house has two apartments (upstairs and downstairs), and a permanent tenant lives downstairs. Please be mindful and respect her privacy. The apartment includes a private entrance, kitchen, balcony, dining room, living area, outdoor dining area, bathroom and laundry.
Murwillumbah is a rural art deco town just 20 mins inland from Australia's best east coast beaches and home to an eclectic mix of artists and farmers. The surrounding areas include world heritage listed national parks and a creative precinct (boasting the largest artist residence per capital outside of a major city postcode) that includes the villages of Uki, Tyalgum, Chillingham, Tumbulgum and Stokers Siding - all a short drive away.
  • Above and beyond what we could have imagined, especially for the value. I would easily return. Love the area, the space, and the cleanliness. Beautiful home and well decorated.

  • My experience from start to finish was fantastic. Sally was prompt and reliable with all communications which lead to a seamless booking and easy check in process. Before we knew it, we were standing in their beautifully presented abode - tastefully decorated, super clean, spacious, airy, rustic, well-equipped kitchen and plenty of different places to lounge and relax. We stayed for three nights and provided a perfect location for enjoying the Mt Warning vicinity and taking in the lovely view from the rear balcony. The house is located just a few minutes drive from town and only 15 minutes from the base of Mt Warning area with great swimming spots. I would highly recommend Sally's home for a great place to relax with friends or as a romantic getaway with your partner. Thanks again Sally :) 5 stars all round!

  • A lovely house with comfortable beds with a gorgeous kitchen all made for an enjoyable stay. Great views and faces east on the balcony so cool for sunrise photos. Very close to town for shops, food etc. lovely having the two air cons and fans in bedrooms and lounge when it was incredibly hot during our stay. Sally is very easy to contact. Just DON'T turn off the wifi when you leave (as I did lol) as the tenant downstairs connects to TV through it!!

  • Sally's place is lovely. Located close to the centre of Murwillumbah, tastefully and very comfortably furnished & a kitchen begging to be used with everything you could wish for. Sally was also very approachable and eager to help in any way. Thoroughly recommended.

This charming 1930's brick duplex is set amongst mature lush gardens offering an executive two bedroom fully equipped furnished apartment with only 5 minutes walk to the heart of Murwillumbah which is being noted for its budding organic restaurants - art deco cinema and diverse culture. Murwillumbah is also the home of the Tweed Art Gallery and its newly acquired famous "Margaret Olley Centre" which attributes to the charm of this apartment. The apartment offers well appointed accommodation for either that leisurely stay or perfect for the business executive who wants the privacy and space!

  • Joan is a wonderful host whose thoughtful touches make Olley Apts a very special place to stay. Centrally located making sub tropical rainforest, Mt Warning, the stunning Tweed River, great beaches, restaurants & cafes only 15 - 30 mins away. This home is sparkling clean, beautifully furnished and so comfortable, especially the beds which make it hard to get up of a morning! Joan provided milk, juice, bread, condiments, a huge bowl of fruit, serviettes, every tea you could imagine & “real” coffee. The kitchen is super well equipped as is the entire house. Huge white soft fluffy bath towels, hand towels, face cloths and L’Occitane bathroom products also ensure a luxurious experience. Joan’s attention to detail far exceeded our expectations. If you are a discerning traveller who appreciates life’s little luxuries then you can’t go past Olley Apartments.

  • Wow, Joan and 'Ollie Apartments' are beyond compare to anything else available in the delightful Northern NSW town of Murwillimbah. Joan's attention to detail is all around you the minute you step through the sub-tropical back garden and into the cottage. She has left no stone un-turned in ensuring that her guests are comfortable, have all amenities, and then some. The cottage is warm and cosy in the winter, with a delightfully welcoming large front facing porch to enjoy mornings in the sunshine and a gorgeous sub-tropical back garden for afternoons. Walking distance to the main town area of Murwillimbah for picking up anything you need - not that you'll need much. Joan thoughtfully provides everything. Do yourself a favour and stay at 'Ollie Apartment'. - Not really an apartment, it's a beautifully appointed private cottage. 10/10 from me and my family. Melita, June 2017

  • The Olley apartment is a wonderful space to be in. Comfortable and quirky with important practicalities (bedside lights, great shower, comfortable beds) high on the list of features. Many thanks for hosting my friends. They enjoyed their stay in Murwillumbah. PS As keen golfers they also said it is an excellent course in Murwillumbah.

A self contained unit in a quiet semi rural location. Generous space and located far enough away from the owners residence to be private but close enough to be able to ask for anything extra that is needed. Dunbible is a 5 minute drive out of Murwillumbah NSW.
Perfect for private getaway or time out. Our studio is now available for guests as a generous one bedroom self contained apartment. We live on site in the separate main house. We are situated on a 1 acre (.4 hectare) block that is being planted with fruit trees according to broad permaculture principles. We eat our own vegies a lot of the time. We keep bees (honey and native), geese and chickens. The studio is detached from the main house but joined by a short covered walkway, so it is quite private. Pets aren't out of the question, it just depends on being outdoors and non destructive, so will discuss that option if required. Wireless internet is available . We can also offer free local and national landline calls from the house VOIP phone. There is a sound system and TV or you can play some vinyl, audio tapes, CDs and radio. We are happy for you to use the washing machine if you need to catch up on washing while on the road. Just ask. We are: 5 minutes from Murwillumbah, 2 minutes from the Tweed Regional Art Gallery and cafe with the new Margaret Olley exhibition 45 minutes from Byron Bay, 35 mins the Gold Coast and the unspoilt Tweed Coast beaches 1.5 hours south of Brisbane Be aware that you could hear cows gentling lowing on the distance hill, kookaburra's do signal the approach of dawn, the geese may honk and the household chickens punctuate the day with news of the arrival on another egg. Dunbible - wotzat? "Aboriginal. Refers to djunbi tree, with suffix following (-ible) indicating there were many of these trees there. Also: a creek at the foot of a high mountain, is a descriptive rather than literal translation. (Richmond Tweed Regional Library. 1984)."
Quite semi rural neighborhood. Sometimes cattle noises across the valley, the odd kookaburra or other birds. We have chickens and geese. At some times of the year the geese can be a little boisterous.
  • Our visit was only brief, but we were made to feel incredibly welcome by Craig and Viv. We didn't cross paths with them on our quick little stay, but as hosts, they were friendly and flexible. We were welcomed with a fridge full of delicious home brew and eggs from their chickens, and felt at home amongst their beautiful garden. Would highly recommend this place and hope we can stop in again in the future :)

  • Craig and Viv are the kind of people that make you have faith in the world, in people, in travel. If you want to experience the best of Australians, then these are the people you'd want to meet. Their place has become my little retreat up north. Cheers Craig and Viv, I look forward to seeing you again when I come up next year.

  • Craig and Viv live in a beautiful part of the world. This little neighbourhood is surrounded by rolling hills and is in driving distance from Murwillambah town and Tweed Regional Gallery which is a definite must do. The studio is equipped with everything you need for a long or short stay and Craig made us most welcome.

    Elise2015-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • Craig and Viv are the perfect hosts! They really made us feel welcome and at home. They are really great company and I only wish we had not been so busy enjoying the local area and catching up with friends so that we could have spent more time hanging out with them. We stayed in the one bedroom apartment which is separate from the main house. This was the perfect arrangement for us because we have a young baby. It was great to have our own private space while at the same time having that feeling that we were at a traditional 'homestay'. The apartment was spacious and homey and had a wonderful collection of music to listen to and instruments to play. It also had a great heater which kept us toasty warm even on the coldest night. The main house is gorgeous and also very homey and warm and inviting, the air bnb pictures don't do it justice. It has a beautiful piano and the most amazing bathtub too. The views from their property are stunning and the local area is just paradise. I particularly recommend a trip to the foot of Mount Warning and a meal at Mavis's restaurant there. I also recommend a visit to the gorgeous little friendly town of Uki (just 10 minutes drive away). We had a wonderful holiday there and we hope to return again later this year.

  • Thank you Craig & Viv for the lovely stay! We all had a great time! You guys make this place very warm, friendly & beautiful! Our son loved the play time with your grandkids, they were wonderful too. We will definitely come back one day!

  • We felt us really welcome. Craig is a friendly, generous and helpful person. We had a very quite and good night, the bed is huge and comfortable. And the accommodation is surrounded by nature what made the stay nice as well.

    Stephanie2016-05-24T00:00:00Z
  • Viv and Craig, a gentle, artistic and generous couple, really know how to provide a superb AirB&B experience on so many levels. Their beautifully appointed studio appartment (a mini art gallery in itself!), the super-comfortable bed, enormous audio and book collections, delicious eggs and honey, combined to ensure a relaxed, very memorable stay. Then add the characterful Toulouse geese, the organic vegies that guests are encouraged to 'graze', the scenic, peaceful surrounds, the closeness of the Tweed River Art Gallery, the hosts deep knowledge of the area ... this is one perfect place to stay!

  • I really enjoyed my stay. The flat was quiet and I appreciated having a basic kitchen and separate dining space because my mum and her friend came over for Xmas lunch. May was a very welcoming and easy going without intruding in any way. I had a problem with logging on to the WiFi which she fixed immediately. The flat is spacious and I enjoyed the outdoor patio which was cool even over the hot days in Dec. At first I was a bit anxious about the steep driveway coming out onto the road but after a couple of times it did not bother me at all. The advantage of being down the driveway was that there was no traffic noise and you had the feeling of being in a forest hideaway.

  • Lovely place, lots of space and May was very accommodating and left chocolates and some breakfast things for us. We were very grateful to be staying there particularly after the major flood but more importantly she and the studio which is huge was very lovely and just what we needed. Thank you May

We'll definitely be back again when we come to visit family in the area.

Elegantly homely with amassing views and a cool breeze in summer. 10mim to Murwillumbah and 15min to Cabarita beach. It's also only a quick 20min to the Gold Coast airport but still quiet and it seems as though u are far away from the hussle and bussle.

  • Sarah was very welcoming and we really enjoyed our stay at her place. The room and the bathroom were clean and she had thought of everything we needed. The view towards Mount Warning is absolutely sensational. Try to be there for sunset if you can!

  • Sarah is a delightful, engaging and easy going host. Her house has the most amazing views over the Tweed Valley with lush green cane fields and the surrounding hills and mountains providing a backdrop. A small but comfy bedroom was more than adequate for our needs. Sarah has a natural warmth and charm that left us feeling very welcome.

  • Sarah is very open hearted, generous and easy to be around. My daughter and I loved staying at her place and decided to stay for another day. The view over the mountains is amazing, especially at sunset.

  • Sarah is a very lovely, generous, and welcoming host and her house has the most wonderful view towards The Great Dividing Range with Mount Warning as the highest top. We arrived just before sun set and enjoyed watching the sky turning into various colours of red. We had a drink and a cosy time with Sarah at the veranda. Next morning I woke up just before six and enjoyed the sunrise from the bedroom. What a thrill. We decided to book another night. I would love returning to Sarah’s home. Thank you so much Sarah and have a wonderful Christmas.

Sarah is a warm and friendly host that has put in special touches. I just stayed the one night as I was driving through but would definately stay again when I am heading through again maybe 2 nights would be better as you can enjoy the area more.

  • This is a really unique location...the expansive view from the house is stunningly beautiful. Unfortunately I only had one night, however I will definitely visit again, as the house is really comfortable and Sarah is an extremely friendly and welcoming host. I enjoyed meeting the chooks, and taking in the sunset on Sarah's (Website hidden by Airbnb) was so relaxing! It's only a 15 minute drive to lovely Cabarita beach, which is a really scenic drive, and not too far from Murwullimbah. Highly recommended!

  • Denise was a fantastic host and the place is beautiful. The view from the backyard towards Mt. Warning is stunning, the house is spotlessly clean without being sterile and Piere the dog is really easygoing, I really enjoyed my stay there and highly recommend Denise as a host. Thanks so much !

  • Although Denise herself wasn't home, her sister was there house-sitting and made me feel like very welcome. I'd not used airbnb previously and hadn't travelled without my family previously, but felt relaxed and safe. Highly recommended

  • Denise kindly accepted my last minute booking. It was so nice to have a clean and comfortable place to stay with a charming host, and charming dog, Pierre. Great views of the mountains from the living room. Nice walks in the area. Denise's place is an excellent AirBnB so I can recommend it to travellers. Thank you Denise, your hospitality was most appreciated. Best Wishes, Marcelle

  • My family and I had a wonderful time during our stay in Murwillumbah at Denise's place. We enjoyed spectacular view of the Mount Warning at the back garden where we loved to have our breakfast. All house was very clean and fresh with a huge new kitchen, where we found everything we needed, even a coffee machine for coffee lovers Denise is such a sweet and caring person, she even left some food for us to enjoy after a long journey from Melbourne. We would highly recommend this place as it is very peaceful in a midst of beautiful nature and also in a very convenient spot easy to reach Gold Coast busy lifestyle.

  • I had a wonderful stay at Elizabeth and Leigh’s. The unit was very peaceful, clean and comfortable and breakfast was yummy! I was a ‘newby’ to murbah so it was great to get local knowledge from my hosts about eating out and good coffee spots. I also did a lot of exploring of the Tweed valley and it’s a beautiful place. I can highly recommend a stay with these lovely hosts and look forward to returning.

The Gallery and MOAC should be definite 'must see' venues for all visitors to the area - just fabulous. The unit was very comfortable, set in private leafy surrounds, and has a wonderful homely feeling. Elizabeth and Leigh provided a warm welcome and helpful advice on the attractions of the area. We really appreciated Elizabeth's lovely selection of fresh fruit and berries, yummy chocolate treats, and the croissants certainly hit the spot. We will definitely spread the word.

The Garden Gallery B and B has a double bedroom and ensuite bathroom with spa bath, and a huge living area which is an Art Gallery when there are no guests. Cosy comfortable recliner chairs in front of the TV, extra beds in the living area, and a sunny breakfast nook looks onto the hills and bird filled garden. It is within a 30 minute radius of Byron Bay, Gold Coast and Coolangatta airport, local beaches and Mt Wollumbin and National Parks for hiking. It is about 2 hours from Brisbane.
The Garden Gallery is a short walk from the Golf course and only 2 minutes by car from Murwillumbah main street. It is on a quiet leafy slope with views of the Caldera hills. High quality art work by local artists is available to purchase as a memento of your stay. Self care breakfast includes eggs laid by Missy and Madam, the hens in the garden, and produce from the local Farmers market. There is covered flat access from the car port and a separate door into the magical garden.
The Garden gallery is in a quiet close with no through traffic. The town's Golf Course is virtually next door, for pleasant walks in the early morning and evening, with a variety of meal options and bar within walking distance. The main shopping area has many fine Art Deco buildings still in commercial use, such as The Regent Cinema and banks, shops and cafes, with plenty of variety for food options.

  • We had a fantastic stay with Shawn and Pamela. Extremely welcoming and accommodating - especially when our arrival date was changed with a delayed flight. Super easy in terms of check in and out and great communication. The place was very well decked out, with everything as listed. The location was suburb for us - very quiet but in close driving distance to national parks, Cabarita beach and some lovely walks and views. Living just a few hours down the road it was still lovely to find so many new places to explore. Definitely recommended!

  • Very nice location and very quite. Shawn quickly showed me to the door then left me be. The aircon is very cold despite being a portable unit. Lovely fluffy neat clean towels and nice tidy kitchen. Not much in the way of cooking facilities but close by Murwillumbah has heaps of dining and take away options. The tv is a pretty small screen but it's close to tables and bed. Thanks for your hospitality Shawn.

Peaceful, tranquil, and restorative. Reconnect with nature while enjoying the views and privacy of this home nestled on approx. 17acres offering a private retreat from the cares of the world. Choose to take up the adventures of the local area (surf, bush walks, visiting quaint towns) or just rest and relax.
Our comfy home sits on top of the escarpment overlooking the Madura Tea Plantation and out to sea. The house is located in the beautiful Clothiers Creek area in the far north of New South Wales Australia. It is nestled amongst the pristine rainforests, beautiful beaches and rural farmland of Northern NSW. Clothiers Creek, is a tributary stream that flows into Cudgen Lake just South of Tweed Heads and the Queensland border. Not far from the subtropical rainforest of Mooball National Park, Mount Warning and the Border Ranges to the beaches of Coolangatta and the Tweed Coast.
Not far from us if the beautiful country town of Murwillumbah. Also very close is Cabarita Beach, which we think is as good as it gets for all things surf and beach.

We even saw platypus and kingfishers upstream a bit. A short walk to town that has everything (great arty shops and second hand places, skate park for the kids). • Karen and John have set the standard for all B&Bs to aspire to. Best I have visited.

    Alan2017-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Karen's attention to detail is amazing. From the welcome platter, to the picture perfect bed, to the comfy lounge, to the fresh garden herbs in the kitchen and the little soaps in the bathroom. Clean and well laid out; great use of the space. The deck in front and the pool were so welcoming when we first stepped on to the property. The view from the balcony at the back out to Mt Warning was stunning. Everything is laid out so all of this can be enjoyed easily. Karen provides eggs (from the chooks you see roaming around), bacon and other goodies for a tasty breakfast. The location is perfect; just out of town so you get the peace and quiet but close enough so you're in town in a jiffy. Would recommend to anyone traveling up to the area. Absolute perfection! Would stay again in a heartbeat if I needed to be back in the area.

  • We had a beautiful stay at Karen and John's place! On arrival we received a welcoming platter and were free to wander the property as we pleased. The place was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. We were given supplies for breakfast and Karen was able to help us pick out some walking trails and recommended things to do in the area. Would definitely stay again! 10/10 would recommend

  • Karen and John were great hosts, taking time to make us feel welcome and explain the grounds and local area. The B&B area for guests was private and very peaceful. We'd happily stay again in warmer weather to take advantage of the pool or in winter when the top of Mt Warning is more likely to be clear of cloud.

Welcome to Koolah Glen. Older style, quaint, rustic comfortable country cottage. Close to World Heritage Mt Warning National park, Art Gallery, Tweed white sand beaches, Gold Coast 20 min, Byron Bay 1/2 hr. Bush walk, lay back or try spotting koalas.
Old charm cottage with period furniture. Original wood flooring. Lounge and main bedroom have ceiling fans. Lovely gardens with fruit trees and access to vegy patch. Forest views with nature at your doorstep. September til November are good times to hear koala activity during mating season. Wake up to the birds. The house is screened except for back verandah.
Quiet country setting. Locally we are 10 mins to Tweed regional art gallery which is home to the Margret Olly exhibition. Local markets every weekend. 5mins to shops. 15mins to cabarita beach and headland where you can spot dolphins and whales Tropical fruit world is just up the road.
  • Country charm and dogs and horses and wonderful bird life. The host is very accomodating and friendly.

    Jodi2016-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • You dont get service like this in the concrete hotel jungle of the Gold Coast. Greeted by 5 beautiful horses and 2 very kid friendly small dogs and a beautiful Hen. The property is 46 acres and Darren, who manages the property showed us around the house in detail explaining how everything works. We settled in and went for a cleared land bush walk to marvel at what I believe is a Monolith in the distance. Would have been an island 100's of thousand years ago. When we got back Darren had started a beautiful hardwood fire for us in the back yard amongst the fruit trees. Great bloke and top night looking at a billion more stars than you see in suburbia. Amanda has lots of herbs and veggies growing which you are allowed to use. Amanda also gave us heaps of beautiful cuttings of her favourite plants to take home. If the chickens and ducks are laying you can use them for breakfast. The fridge was stocked with milk, fresh bread and real butter. The cupboards had enough basic foods to get by with if you didn't have time to stop at the shops to feed the travel tired kids. I slept so well that when I woke in the middle of the night to use the bathroom, I walked towards my toilet and thought, that wall never used to be there. It felt like home away from home. We walked up the hill again to feel the breeze and using my Big Bertha golf club, gave the kids a golf lesson and hit some old balls off into distance safely. Amanda is conscious of environment stress and makes a great effort to minimize water and compost everything possible or feed waste to animals. Amanda is a hidden trove of talents. Artist, Musician, Gardener, animal lover and overall just one of those people the planet needs more of. Her CD is in the lounge to hear her talents and we were even given a demo of Amanda playing a string instrument that I've never heard of before. Apparently Cyndi Lauper plays it. Great place, Great hosts. Great value for a large family and a friend or 2. We didn't want to leave and we are definitely going back.

  • We really enjoyed our stay at Manda's place. It's nice, peaceful and quite area and the house is surrounded by many trees, hills, horses and few farm animals. The kids played outdoors a lot and asked to turn TV only once in 7 days. The house is quite old, but very comfy, cute and has a lot of charm. Manda is a lovely lady and always very helpful. Our kids want to go back to visit her again.

  • Thank you Amanda, for your warm welcome to your lovely part of the world. We enjoyed staying in your comfortable and rustic cottage which was the perfect retreat after an overnight flight. The kids enjoyed the animals and garden and it was so nice to wake up to the birds.

  • If you are in the need to get away from the hustle and bustle then this is the place you're looking for. Was so nice just to relax and unwind. Waking up to the horses outside your window was a nice little touch of country. Not too far from town or a short drive to the Gold Coast if needed. Amanda is a wonderful host, friendly and loves a good chat. Thank you Amanda for our amazing break.

  • •A charming, rustic farm stay in a beautiful property• I want to live here! This was our first airbnb experience, and we all loved it. The property is absolutely gorgeous and the views are incredible. Jon and Rachel are very friendly and easy going people. They not only told us about local things to do, Jon drew us detailed maps! They told us about local creeks and a glow worm tunnel -- and I'd highly suggest them as well. They also set up a massive slip and slide for my boys to play on. All of us loved the ducks and chickens. Jon was feeding the ducks one day and my 5 year old, Dex, asked if he could feed them as well. Jon happily let him, but he also showed Dex what he does with his sons-- he put the feed on Dexter's toes so it tickled when the ducks ate! Dex loved it. My oldest son turned 17 during our stay. I made a passing comment about his birthday the day before to Rachel, and in the morning they delivered delicious homemade cupcakes with a handmade card! My son was blown away by that. So nice! The property has plenty to offer. The treehouse is a.maz.ing. Every kids dream! The lookout at the top of the hill has an awesome view of Mt Warning. We all went up there at least once a day. My 17 year old would go up alone to paint and listen to music. My 12 year old went up alone to read. I loved the hammock. And there are boogie boards at the top to slide down the hill! My 11 year old was in heaven. We live in Brisbane and we wanted something different. This place was perfect. We love toying with the idea of having a farm life, and this was just what we wanted. I loved seeing the ducks waddling along the green pastures, listening to the whipbirds calling out their duets, and seeing my kids fully enjoying the property. Keep in mind that this is a farm stay though; there are more creepy crawlies around than I am used to -- but it was worth it. (Don't forget bug spray.) Quick summary of the accommodations: - Ample power outlets - Plenty of lighting - Both bath and shower - Outdoor toilet. This one worried me initially, but it wasn't bad. (I was shocked that it didn't stink!) - No Wi-Fi... which is why my kids were reading and painting. Victory! - No air conditioning, but the 3 fans were sufficient, even on hot days. The floor is cement, so I think that helped to keep it cool as well. - It has two rooms; the front room has bunks and a double bed, so we were able to have all four of our kids in there -- and the tv room and kitchen are open, with two futons. My husband and I doubled up the mattresses. There's not a...

  • Our family had such a lovely weekend here. Our hosts, Rachel, Jon and their children were very kind, flexible and accommodating to our rather large extended family - including our dog. Our boys spent the weekend playing with their super friendly ducks and chickens, climbing trees and the amazing cubby house that Jon built, sliding down hills and the awesome slip and slide, playing football together and generally just enjoying foraging for seed pods and other fascinating finds in the great outdoors! We spent most of Saturday morning visiting the local markets where we found some unique treasures and delicious gelato and then the rest of the day at the local river rapids recommended by their lovely boys, Finn and Joe. We started the glow worm journey but it started raining as we arrived which was probably a good thing as the boys were asleep within a few minutes of the drive back anyway after such a big day of fun. The accomodation was perfect for our needs - it’s not exactly luxurious but that’s not what we were after. It was beautifully rustic, simple & clean, and Rachel was kind enough to let us squeeze in an extra person as we weren’t sure of our family’s plans - this all worked with no problems at all. We stayed on a very hot weekend but it didn’t feel that bad even without air conditioning as there were three fans and polished cement floors, which probably helped. We brought an esky full of food and enjoyed a family BBQ one night with the boys enjoying their dinner on a picnic blanket by the cubby house, followed by a board game. We even managed to fit in a beach swim at the beautiful Hastings point on the way home. All in all, a wonderful, highly recommended getaway.

  • Have booked Bunya Cabin for two short stays during the past two weeks, and both times have felt very relaxed and comfortable there from the get-go. The treats that Jen leaves in the fridge for her guests are a delight. All in the cabin is clean and comfortable, and it's a lovely thing to wake up to bird-song every morning. Recommended!

  • We had a lovely time staying at Jen's cabin. All the personal little touches really made our stay all the more enjoyable! There was a bottle of wine on the bench; the fridge was filled with all sorts of goodies and Jen had given us everything we needed to get the fire started, including marshmallows. The whole cabin was beautifully decorated and the bed was very comfortable, with ample blankets. The place was quite easy to find and just a short drive from the beach. I can't rate this place highly enough!
