“A hidden gem that mostly locals know about. Enjoy a secluded beach among the most expensive homes in San Francisco.”

“Another one of my favorite hidden gems in San Francisco is the Land's End Labyrinth. Made of stones, this labyrinth sits on a cliff over the Pacific Ocean. It has amazing views of the Golden Gate Bridge, Marin Headlands, and Land's End. Many spiritual people come here to walk the labyrinth. This purposeful path helps you create wholeness in your spirit. You walk from the outside world on a journey to the center of yourself. You then make the return trip out to the world again. Others love to come here for wonderful photos. It's a hot spot for those that love Instagram too. Address: Follow the Mile Rock Beach sign off the Land's End Trail and stay right on the trail (left will take you down a steep set of stairs to Mile Rock Beach) Hours: Dawn to dusk Cost: Free ”

“This is really secret spot smack dab in the middle of the Sea Cliff area. You know Sea Cliff, right? The neighborhood Robin Williams once lived in? This beach is only accessible by stairs so it's amazing how secluded it is. Or at least it was secluded when I was a teenager...”

Beach
“leave your inhibitions and swimsuit at home. If you're not familiar with the Pacific Ocean in SF - only the daring swim it unless it's 100 degrees F outside. The water is bitterly cold! This is predominantly a gay beach, but welcoming of everyone. It's a hike to get down there. At the foot of the stairs there's a small uncrowded beach. Keep going around the big rocks and you'll likely see some things you've never seen before. Keep going til the very end (tide dependent) until the security guard yells at you for going too far and you'll be standing RIGHT under the Golden Gate Bridge - one of the coolest, least-photographed views of the bridge is from right here. ”

“Baker Beach, birthplace of the legendary Burning Man festival. The first Man burned here in 1986 when founders lit up an improvised wooden figure on Summer Solstice and a crowd gathered to watch. ”

Sentiero
“This short shoreline trail in the Presidio lets you experience the city’s ocean bluffs. It’s a nice example of how human structures are integrated into the natural environment in San Francisco. You can explore remnants of the old military outpost from the early 1900s, which are built into the steep cliffs. Go just before sunset on a clear day and you’ll be rewarded with colorful, expansive views of the Pacific, the perfect ending to a day by the bay.”

“Our favorite hike in the city, that includes gorgeous views and a trip down to the beach. It can be windy, even on a sunny day, so dress in layers.”
