  • Gayle is a very considerate host. Communication between us started before the trip, and it was straightforward and easy. When my family and I arrived, a big storm was looming and Gayle showed us the best spot to park, how to get around, and provided additional light and umbrella, etc. The pond house is truly unique and beautiful, located in a bucolic area called Apple Valley. And don't let weather block your trip either. It has no lack of beauty (and stays dry) even in a stormy day like we had. And it is Fun, too, to listen to the thunderstorm, watch lightening, and animals murmuring at night... Also, special thanks to Gayle for accommodating my non-English speaking family. They truly enjoyed the stay (just in case you don't speak Mandarin :).

  • Unique experience. Everything as described on her page. Great weekend getaway from the city to the nature. Very dog friendly. Charlie was a good host as well.

  • Our stay was magical! The temperature got down to the low 40's the first night, but we stayed very comfy under the warm comforter. The Pondhouse is impeccably designed and offers a serene natural setting. Gayle and Peter are very gracious hosts, and Charlie the dog creates a fun atmosphere without demanding anything of you. Would go back in a second!

  • Wonderful balance of natural sounds and sights and basic needs taken care of. I was there in May, grey days, and it was lovely. Gracious hosts and needs were predicted yet I got my solitude and nothing to worry about (unless I brought the worries with me. ) It was chilly weather and crawling into the big, warm, comfortable bed was a delight!!

  • The pond house was magical and a great place to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. When we arrived, Gayle was there to show us around the property. Charlie also greeted us and I think he might be the coolest dog I've ever been around. Cooking dinner on the outside grill under the stars was a nice way to unwind. The bed in the pond house was very comfortable and waking up to nature was refreshing. The next day, we hung out on the property for a while. Gayle went the extra mile as a host and found a place where I could get a prenatal massage.

    Adriana2015-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful spot! Gayle

    Sharon2017-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Charlie greeted us first in the driveway...Charlie is awesome. Gayle met us next, and showed us to the Pondhouse. After she gave us the lay of the land, we enjoyed getting acclimated, cooking dinner on the firepit, and relaxing in general. The bed was comfortable and warm, the surroundings were great, and the animal sounds at night are abundant. We loved the town of Ashfield, visited a farmer's market, and spent some time at Bullit Reservation and Chapel Falls. Breakfast at Elmer's was also enjoyable. Overall, we had an incredible weekend. The Pondhouse offered us the opportunity to relax, reconnect, and appreciate the simple life.

    Amy2014-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • The pondhouse is absolutely beautiful! It looks exactly like the pictures. Great place to unplug and unwind. Gayle was a good host, and we would recommend this place to everyone who is looking for a unique glamping experience.

  • Great house and lovely location. The lake in the back of the home offers a lovely view and a great hike which stretches around the perimeters of the lake---we encountered salamaders, frogs, turtles, ducks and snakes( harmless) in our treks on the trail. A small boat was available( plus life preservers for the grandchildren)....There were housekeeping issues which the manager worked hard to resolve. We were there for 3 nights with our son and his family, who reside in Cambridge, and would consider a return to this home. Barbara Morgan, Cape Girardeau, Mo.

  • It is very special to be adjoining a state park and a pond. Loved walking around the pond each day and kayaking on the pond. It is a large family house filled with things used by families - toys & games, BBQ grill, kayaks. The kitchen has lovely light and views from on a hill looking down at the pond.

    Ed2016-05-12T00:00:00Z
  • This house is quite nice, unique in that it is basically alone on the edge of a huge forest, and being 1 of 2 properties with access to a large pond. A beautiful location, well equiped, with plenty of room for a family vacation. Bring your hiking boots. We will be back.

  • Location perfect, gracious host, cozy warm home on a beautiful property. Would come back again and am planning already

  • We stayed at Molly's place for two nights and the house was spacious with plenty of beds so that the six of us didn't feel cramped. We also really appreciated that we were allowed to bring our canine family members with us. Perry, the property manager was great with providing us information about the house, amenities and area via email before our stay. There was an issue with the air conditioning the day we arrived, but it was addressed & resolved the following morning. We did not use the available kayaks/boat/paddleboard due to the weather, but we did manage to spend some time at the cute town "beach". The lake area is down quite a steep hill and not as close to the house as we originally thought. If you have a large group that doesn't mind an older/rustic house in a quiet, low key town, then Molly's place is for you.

    colleen2016-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic huge property in a picturesque area.

    Ben2015-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • Molly was very accommodating and was great with communication!! Check in and check out was easy and the house was just as I thought it was going to be. Was perfect for our girls weekend and very fun and relaxing. Loved the little beach close by and the house has a great fire pit with plenty of wood to burn. Loved Molly's house and will definitely be back again!

    Alisha2016-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • This is a truly lovely family house. It has all you need for a short or longer break. Fully equipped kitchen with loads of herbs and spices, basic necessities like flour, oil, sugar and salt and a variety of pots and pans. The bedrooms are spacious and comfortable. The living room has a massive sofa and a good working fire place with ample wood. Good WiFi connection. Boardgames, kayaks, musical instruments, snow skis... we didn't use any of them but they are there. We did walk around the lake a couple of times (and beyond) and the surroundings are stunning. The manager takes good care of the house and your needs, and is available for any requests by telephone and responds to email very quickly. You need a car. Any bigger sort of supermarket is 18 miles away (Adams) so do think ahead if you plan to stay at the house for a longer period of time and restaurants are at equally long distance. We (5 adults and an happy dog) had a lovely time up here and recommend a stay if you look for peace and quiet in a beautiful natural environment.

Rustic home on 3 1/2 acres in Cheshire, MA. Three Bedrooms, multiple couches and 2 bathrooms (1 shower 2 bathtubs.) Views of Mount Greylock, 5 minutes from downtown Adams and Susan B. Anthony house. Within 30 minutes of Tanglewood, MassMoca, Williams College, Mt. Greylock and Jiminy Peak.
There are 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms (1 Shower) and tons of floor space with a large deck equip with a grille (covered in winter.) The first bedroom has a king sized feather bed mattress with TV (down feather mattress pad can be removed upon request). The second bedroom has a Queen sized tempurpedic bed (TV) and the third bedroom has a queen sized bed. There are 3 large couches in the upstairs living room one of which is a pull out but is best used just as a couch. The basement has been recently refinished and there are two older couches in front of the fireplace. The finished basement is a private location but does not have a separating door. The main floor bathroom has a shower, tub, vanity and toilet and is newly renovated. The downstairs bathroom is larger but currently has only a vanity, toilet and a massive jet tub (no shower.) The primary heat is Propane (thermostat), but I use a wood and pellet stove to supplement. There is a free 8' slate pool table in the garage that is unheated in the winter. The house is well over 2,500 square ft. It is a full kitchen with plates, forks, knives, pots, pans, spices, and condiments in the fridge (etc.) and a separate formal dining room. There are 3 flat screen TV's with cable. In the main living room there is a blue ray player for movies and a Blue Tooth sound bar that can be used as a music speaker. There is a large fire pit, but wood must be purchased at the local store. There is a private and stocked trout stream for fishing and land for hunting. I have no visible neighbors and plenty of land to explore. Animals are permitted only with prior permission. Smoking is not permitted. I will not be there during your stay but please keep in mind this is my primary residence. I live here alone so it's not overrun with my personal belongings but I do leave some of my clothes etc. behind. I have a short haired indoor/outdoor cat that lives with me and I take him during your stay. I can spray the home with allergen reducer upon request, but I cannot guarantee it will not effect anyone with a cat allergy. The other thing I can do is with prior notice take him out of the house up to a week before you arrive. If you have outdoor allergies I would not recommend this home because it is surrounded by woods. During your visit I stay down the street so if you have any questions or problems I can fix them fast. I am always updating my home and looking for areas to improve so I appreciate all suggestions. I have had all walks of life rent my home; small families, reunions, sports teams, couples, bachelor parties even a pig roast but please no one under 21 without adult (25+) supervision. I will not tolerate underage drinking parties in my home. There is a fee for additional people over 10. If you plan on having people over during the day please let me know beforehand and we can discuss if additional pricing. Extremely Private neighborhood Will rent a private room or two for less
Extremely Private neighborhood. Cannot see the house from the street
  • Had a great time, and Elizabeth was very helpful in making sure we had a good stay.

  • We came to Liz's house for a ski trip with friends. She was super accommodating and the house easily fit all 8 of us. It was secluded, we enjoyed being on our own and not being concerned about neighbors. The atmosphere for those three days was like that of our own home, and for that we couldn't thank her enough.

    Kian2015-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • The hostess was great. She communicate well and was very accommodating. She helped us through some minor hiccups (a temporarily closed road and some issues with the backyard grill). The home was cleaned before our arrival, and the surrounding grounds were groomed. The hostess check in with us from time to time to ensure everything was fine. The property, a rural home in the Berkshires, was consistent with what was described. The photos were accurate. We had plenty of room to enjoy a family weekend. The basement was a bit too "musky" to sleep in. Otherwise, no complaints. Everyone was comfortable. Taken together, we had a nice time.

    Stephen2015-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • This weekend was great! We arrived at the house and had tons of maps and food brochures waiting on the dining room table that were extrememely helpful throughout our stay. There are three bedrooms and a pullout In the basement and den. There are 3 TVs (which are difficult to work) but have hbo. The house is secluded and perfect for a weekend away with friends. She has a beautiful backyard that's fun to explore with a fire pit. Unfortunately, we came with a friend that was allergic to cats and the owner has a cat. The house also has a pool table, however it's in the garage so we were freezing and barely played a full game. It's a great house that's secluded and a great location for hiking!

    Rachel2013-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • Our host was very accomodating and helpful before we arrived. There was a detour near the house and she gave us great directions to help us navigate the area. There were plenty of towels, linens, toiletries and dishes accessible. Also, there were guides, maps and restaurant brochures left for us. The neighborhood was just as described, very private.

    David2015-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • Libby's house is as described -and Libby was easy to work with and very pleasant. We were a group of eight up for the weekend to hike and see the museums. Libby's house was an excellent home base. The quiet location was peaceful and a lovely view of the stars. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was well stocked with plenty of plates, cups and cutlery, and the whole house was roomy. Libby is in the process of upgrading one of the bathrooms - which she warned us about. It was fully functional and well on its way to being quite beautiful. The basement was somewhat musty, so other than the bathroom there (with jacuzzi tub), we really did use it. Thanks for a very nice home base!

    Tracy2015-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • Elizabeth's property was like a home away from home. We really enjoyed our stay. It's very quiet, beautiful, and super private. I'd definitely stay there again.

    Bryanna2017-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • Elizabeth was great! She was very helpful in making sure we got to the house ok (there was a bridge out on the road and required a detour). She also gave us some good advice on local places to check out. The house was nice, in a very quiet and remote area. There was plent of space for 9 of us. Bathroom and shower is pretty old, and there is only one shower plus another half bathroom, but the kitchen and rest of the house has everything you could ask for. There was also wifi which is nice.

See the Starseed website for details. There are many beautiful places to hike nearby including Tannery Falls (gorgeous waterfalls) in the Savoy State Forest.
  • Staying at the Tiny House provides a unique and relaxing experience with many options for activities and excursions. I have now visited twice- the first time, my partner and I were excited to learn more about tiny houses and check out art attractions in the Berkshires (like MassMoCA). The second time, we enjoyed local outdoor activities like walking to Tannery Falls and swimming in Plainfield Pond (a short drive away). The area around the Tiny House has an enchanting, peaceful beauty, with a number of different walking trails in the surrounding woods and hidden treasures on the sanctuary property. It is a great place to breathe deeply and enjoy nature, without having to travel too far from the Boston area.

  • The Tiny House was perfect for a time of quiet refreshing. I enjoyed both the grounds and the home.

  • The tiny house was everything I expected and more. Impeccably clean, Aravinda was super accommodating with my late arrival due to weather and left amazing information on Tannery Falls. It was easy to find considering I'm not from the area and cell reception is spotty, all thanks to the detailed directions provided. I'm looking to return in the early winter, after the first snow fall to photograph the falls again.

  • I have been interested in tiny houses for about a year. I found this tiny house on airbnb and decided to try it. It was an amazing experience. The tiny house is part of the starseed healing center. In the morning we were able to walk the grounds. We even found a yurt that is used for group meditation.

    Mark2014-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • Atmosphere was very welcoming, Aravinda was kind, accommodating, and just great! She and her husband were able to answer any questions we had, and she gave us privacy as well. The tiny house more fabulous in person than in the pictures! My wife and I enjoyed our stay over memorial day weekend and may even make Aravinda's tiny house a regular getaway. Thanks for a lovely time in a beautiful home :)

We have a small duplex apartment high on a hill overlooking Adams MA. It has 2 bedrooms, one with queen bed and one with double bed. Kitchen, dining room and living room. Bath with shower. Cute front porch and nice deck off the back door.
Partially renovated 2 bedroom small duplex. The smaller Library bedroom has a double/full bed. The second larger bedroom has a queen bed and a room air conditioner. All rooms have fans. Adams is the perfect location to stay for your visit to the Berkshires. We are ten minutes to North Adams and Mass MoCA. We are 20 minutes to Williamstown and Williams College, The Clark Art Institute, Williams College Musuem of Art and the Williamstown Theater Festival. We are 30 minutes to Pittsfield and the Barrington Stage Company, Colonial Theater and Berkshire museum. It takes 45 minutes to drive to Lenox and Tanglewood, and about 55 minutes to get to Stockbridge and the Norman Rockwell Museum, the Chesterwood Musuem and Stockbridge Theater Festival. Right in Adams is Mt. Greylock which affords 4 season recreation opportunities including hiking, mountain biking and skiing. Adams hosts the famous Thunderbolt ski race every Feb. Adams is also on the beautiful Ashuwillticook Rail Trail, a paved trail for walking and biking over ten miles long through the town, a bird filled wetland called "The Jungle" and then alongside sparkling Hoosuc Lake. Adams also has a beautiful library, the historic Quaker Meeting House and The Birthplace of Susan B. Anthony Museum. There is a nine hole golf course right in town too: one of many great golf courses in the area.
  • Sandy was a welcoming host and accommodating host. The apartment was neat and clean, with beautiful views of Mt Greylock. My boys, ages 7 and 4, loved the cozy bedroom they shared with the book shelves lining the walls and the bed perfect for sharing. The deck is lovely and the kitchen was well stocked. A great find in Adams -- so close to all that the Northern Berkshires have to offer! We'll be back!

  • Sandy was friendly and helpful! The apartment was clean and had beautiful views of Mt. Greylock as promised.

    Anna2016-05-30T00:00:00Z
  • We were there for a short visit, got in late and left early, but Sandy was a very nice host. The place was clean and spacious. We had a very comfortable stay.

    Mary2015-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • Sandy was very helpful. He met us on arrival and offered us suggestions on what to see in the area for our too short stay. He was excellent in his response to our emails. A lovely character home complete with modern conveniences and old world charm. I would have no hesitation in recommending this accommodation.

    Jenny2015-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • Charming place; awoke to a breathtaking view of a mist covered Mt. Greylock from the master bedroom. Thoughtfully equipped with everything you might need. Wish we would have had time to use the back deck and grill. Sandy and cat were friendly and hospitable, and great communication prior to our trip. Flexible check-in was a big plus too. Recommendation for the Corner Lunch spot down the street for breakfast was spot on for what we needed. Good central location for Berkshire County. Hope to be back.

  • Sandy and his wife were very welcoming and gave us plenty of information regarding the places to visit, where to eat, etc. It was always very easy to communicate with them. Sandy's home is the perfect location to visit the surrounding area. We spent the day at Mass MoCA and the Clark Institude is also close. Overall, the area is beautiful and there are also several hiking options in the area. We enjoyed our stay A LOT and are planning to come back next year when the new aisle of MASS MoCA will open! We definitively recommend Sandy's house for anyone interested in staying in the area.

  • Katherine’s place is cozy and gorgeous! Her taste in interior design is A++ and she is super communicative.

  • My husband, dog and I spent a wonderful, relaxing weekend at the 1890 house. Kate is a superb host. From our initial booking exchange to our departure Kate was communicative, helpful and friendly. The 1890 house is beautiful! We spent the snowy weekend exploring the nearby forests and enjoying cozy evenings by the fire. I heartily recommend Kate and her lovely home!

    Claire2017-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • After two weeks on the road, traveling across country, we felt Katherine's place was a great space to rest and unwind for a couple of nights before heading back home. We (and our dog) had everything we needed in the house, which was well kept and charming. We would definitely stay again!

    Jennifer2017-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at 1890 House for a long weekend away, mostly seeking some quiet and cooler temperatures. The home delivered on quiet - it's a lovely, residential neighborhood with spaced out homes and a nice view of the mountain. As for cooler...well, of course it was the hottest weekend of the year. But sitting on the wraparound porch in the morning was the best part. Katherine made us feel totally at home and had some great suggestions of places to go. Adams is pretty convenient for both the Williamstown Theater Festival and Tanglewood.

    Paul2016-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely, peaceful house on a quiet street in Adams. I could've easily spent several days just sitting on the porch, drinking coffee and reading. Very comfortable for a stay with family or friends. Highly recommend.

    Karla2017-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautiful home in a great location. It was such a peaceful environment and plenty to enjoy nearby. Kate was very helpful and available from the start. The home is pristine, beds are comfortable, lovely porch, nice amenities, and quiet neighborhood. Thank you, Kate!

    Ashley2017-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • Kate's place is charming and as described. She provided great recommendations and communicated well. The views from the house and porch were amazing! It's not right in the center of things but not far either.

  • A great place to stay in the heart of the Berkshires! The 1890 house is charming and in a nice quiet neighborhood with awesome views of Mt. Greylock. Kate was great host, she checked in with us multiple times before, during and after our stay to make sure we had everything we needed. We would definitely stay at the 1890 house again.

My cozy home ready for you to come relax and rejuvenate from your everyday schedule, or maybe you are just looking for a resting spot on your journey in New England. This is a great retreat from cities, yet near many outdoor activities and cultural events not far away. is nestled at the foot of Mt. Greylock across from the historic Quaker Meeting House, yet shops, restaurants and grocery stores are near by. families are welcome.
This is a great space with a Cape Cod wall mural, and other paintings in the room. The one window looks out towards the back yard and Mt. Greylock. The WC (bathroom) is just a few steps away from your private room. A Pack n' Play crib or twin mattress roll-away for child is available if not already used by another guest room.
The neighborhood is quiet and family friendly, we enjoy the large spaces around us and the changing moods of the light and clouds on the mountain.
  • Sandra is a pleasant host, and our comfortable room and shared bathroom were clean and nicely decorated. Recommended for those seeking a quiet place to stay within a short drive to North Adams and Williamstown.

  • A pleasant, quiet stay. Thanks for the thoughtfulness of the orange marmalade bread too!

    Stephanie2017-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean and tidy home by the mountains and peacefulness. Sandra was kind and thoughtful. We enjoyed meeting a new face. We awoke refreshed and in the mountains. Perfect for the night!

    Colleen2017-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Sandra was flexible when my plans changed and I had to arrive a day later. I personally don’t love the laminated signs and notes, because I’m staying in someone’s home, not a hotel for a reason. Very clean.

    Danielle2017-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • Sandra was a great host. Communication worked perfect and fast the room and bathroom were clean and comfortable. We felt really welcome and were super happy to find fresh muffins in the kitchen in the morning that Sandra prepared before going to work. I would recommend booking Sandra's Airbnb and will definitely stay with her again if we ever get to that area again.

Come relax and enjoy the outdoors from this luxurious, open floor plan home that backs up to 100+ acres of woods to explore. The house is shared, however with your own private room and a total of 2200 sq ft. there is plenty of space. 5 minute drive to Earthdance and Nine Mountain (nearby retreat centers) and a short drive or bike ride away from Plainfield pond, 25 minutes to Berkshire East and many more incredible destinations.
To me, my home is much more than a house, it is a museum of my collections from world travel and a place to truly be present with the enchanted landscape. If you are a gardener, painter or artists of any kind, I highly encourage a visit. This listing is for one bedroom, up to three are available. If you are requesting more than one room, it is an additional $60 per room per night. Also, if you intend to bring a dog, an additional cleaning fee will be added of $50. Please specify this when making your booking request, thank you!
  • Scenic view, comfortable and modern home, presenting beautiful carpets and rare instruments with a caring host that took a great care of our stay and time there. Thank you Levi!

    Raquel2017-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautiful and peaceful home in a perfect getaway spot. Levi is incredibly trustworthy and reliable. The area is gorgeous, with a pretty river and rolling hills. I was looking for a place to write and run, thinking it would take me forever to find exactly what I was looking for - but I found it on the first shot. The location is just close enough to North Hampton to be accessible, and yet just far enough away for me not to get distracted when I’m supposed to be writing. The garden is magical. The open floor plan of the house is warm and inviting. This is the kind of place that makes you happy to be alive.

    Cali2017-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • My girlfriend and I had a blast staying at Levi's place. He was very good about communicating before our stay, and his house is very artsy and beautiful. Modern kitchen, cool art pieces and a nice garden. Would definitely stay here again!

  • Levi, thank you for welcoming us into your home. Rosie and I felt cared for, welcomed and very comfortable indoors and outdoors. What a beautiful and special place you have. Thank you for letting me and Kels study and lab in your magic rock garden. I truely felt some deep shifting and healing especially in the presence of so many birds and butterflies and majestic trees. So great to meet Sasha and eat a blessed meal with you all for Shabbat. Feeling blessed.

    Anne2017-06-28T00:00:00Z
  • Levi's place was exactly what my friends and I were looking for. Levi was helpful and accommodating- a super nice guy. The kitchen was beautiful and the location is very peaceful. I would stay here again for sure.

  • The magic never ebbs at this enchanted, bohemian haven. If you appreciate inspirational scenery and healing spaces, then this is the place for you.

    Cali2017-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • This was my second time staying at Levi’s retreat. I get more writing done here than at any other place I’ve ever been - the location is that inspiring for me. Truly a gem of a spot, and Levi is a great communicator. Even when he’s traveling, he stayed in touch with me almost immediately. Definitely book it if you can - I plan on hogging as much time there as possible. I dream of the rolling mountains and Westfield River every night.

  • I think the ad deserves more details so it's clear what to expect when you arrive. I was not comfortable here, and I was alone in this facility in the middle of nowhere. For me, it was not ideal. Mariam was communicative and made sure someone met me there, and they were VERY nice. But it was not suitable for me needing to have small needs like a working fridge, a space that had airflow, and a sense of safety.

    Lisa2017-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • Very cool, artsy lodge with a lot of open, communal space. We didn't end up interacting with other guests but it seems like it's almost encouraged in a hostel style layout with the den, backyard, and shared kitchen. The loft is an obvious choice if looking for a cheap place to crash- but I would return for a private room as well! Wish we could have seen the cafe Sunday evening. Very easy check-in and quick responses to my questions early on. Definitely recommend!

We call this our cabin, but it really a small house surrounded by stunning trees, waterfalls, lots of backroads for biking and hiking, and no TV/Internet to distract you. Museum of Contemporary Art is 17 miles away. Fall Colors are amazing!
The sun room is our favorite room - great for looking out to the next peak, putting a puzzle together, or doing yoga. A full kitchen with a gas stove and frig. Great master bedroom that is large with lots of windows. Soapstone wood-burning stove to cut the chill or generate serious heat in the winter. A small second bedroom that can sleep 4 in a pinch (there are 4 matresses right now) - bunk beds are coming...
  • Brian's place was great. The location was super and the cabin was exactly what we hoped it would be. Basic, but spacious and with all the amenities we needed. Very private, no noise, (no cell phone reception), dark skies; perfect for a weekend getaway.

  • The cabin was exactly what we were looking for, a secluded and beautiful spot in the woods of western mass. It's central location from both Tanglewood and Mass MoCA was very convenient and allowed us to be flexible with our time. The cabin has comfortable furnishings, rustic but functional interior, and plenty of space. Brian was responsive, very accommodating and respectful; allowing us the privacy to truly enjoy the space. The kitchen was extremely well stocked with teas, and cooking necessities, along with a high quality cookware, knifes, plates, outdoor grill, etc. I wouldn't hesitate to return to Brian's beautiful and comfortable spot.

  • Digital detox heaven! My family of 3 spent Memorial Day here to get away from NYC. The cabin and property are remote and comfortable, only thing you hear is the birds and the streams running. My 5-year-old had a great time exploring the woods on the property. We also discovered the trolley museum while exploring Shelburne Falls, great for kids.

  • We rented Brain’s cabin for the fresh grass festival this year, our group had a total of 6 people. Before our arrival Brian great in helping us figure out if all 6 of us could fit into the space. The airbnb listing did say the cabin could fit 6, but there are only 2 bedrooms. At the time of our stay there was a queen bed and a twin in the master bedroom, a smaller room with 2 twin beds and the living room with a futon. We ended up using the futon in the living room, the queen bed in the master and a queen size air mattress that we brought was used in the smaller room. The location was only 30 mins away from North Adam, which was nice for the festival. Brian was really accommodating and left the lights on for us because he knew we were arriving after dark. We had a good time staying at the cabin overall. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking utensils. The wood stove was awesome. We did have a few issues. The cabin was really stuffy when we arrived, a few of us had allergies to the dust.

Completely renovated, cozy 1800's one room cabin with kitchen located along the Westfield River. New queen bed and roomy couch for an extra guest. Available until November 1, the Red River Cabin has a two-night booking minimum. Wifi enabled.
Located on the grounds of the Singing Bridge Lodge, very close to the Singing Bridge with tall trees. This rustic private cabin has the original post and beams from its earlier barn life, with a new pine floor, artsy tiling in the new bathroom and kitchen area and plenty of windows galore. Also has a wood stove for the cooler season.
The lodge is an historic gathering place from the early 1800's. It was always a place of support back then according to the elders who stopped in to tell us the history. People would come for warmth when the church across the street was too cold, travelers found a warm safe rest on their journey along the early wagon trail that is now Route 9. The vintage metal bridge in the back yard carried many a horse drawn wagon, as well as sheep and other livestock for production. It's now a lovely footbridge, recently painted with flower boxes happily decorating the scenic view. Every season here is a treasure. Excellent wedding and ceremonial gathering space with capacity for 80 guests inside the lodge, outside events can handle up to 200.
  • Very pretty

    Lee2017-11-07T00:00:00Z
  • Mariam's cabin is charming and full of character - exactly what I look for in a booking. I loved the rustic barn beams, quirky tile work, full kitchen and the cool singing bridge and river just out the backdoor. There is so much to see and do within easy driving distance, but we were just as happy hanging out at the cabin, enjoying our morning coffee on the bridge, and relaxing with a book on the big rocks in the river. Although the other houses are close by, we had tons of privacy. We loved our stay and look forward to returning.

    Jackie2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great stay for two nights here. A cute little rustic cabin getaway was just what we were looking for. Cooked our breakfasts and a dinner there just fine with the provided kitchenware. Was heated well so w kept very warm during a cold night. Had some good charm that was just our style. Thanks!

    Isaac2017-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • This is just what the doctor would prescribe for a quiet getaway. A very rustic and cozy space. My husband and I stayed here for two wonderful nights. A very comfy bed, extra blankets and a wood burning stove were waiting for us. You can hear a little traffic from the road near by, but it's not invasive and once life settles down, you can only hear the brook that's just outside the door. Miriam was very responsive and made us feel comfortable, providing us with some firewood and a fully equipped kitchen. It was easy to locate the space, and anything you would need from town is a 10 minute drive. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone who is looking for a casual, clean, safe, and quiet get away. No television or wifi :) Thank you, Miriam!

Cozy and sunny with a double bed, wood floors and a cubby closet. Big enough to accommodate another mattress or a crib. Adjustable baseboard heat.
West Cummington is a spectacular 1800's hill town village nestled along the Westfield River. In any direction from our lodge, over the river or through the woods, you can see old hardwood forests, comprising the picturesque Deer hill, with veils of mist rising and listen to the magical music of the river flowing by. Eagles, herons, hawks, bears and crows frequent the spacious grounds. It is an excellent destination for biking, motorcycles and hiking.
  • This is a very unique and endearing place, colorful, energetic, peaceful and exciting at the same time. Beautiful flowing brook just behind the property, great big back yard, tons of rooms and really nice comfortable décor, the people are great too... don't miss it! It is a really special place worth visiting!

  • I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in this lovely, eclectic place. Miriam and the caretaker, Bob, were warm, welcoming, and interesting. In fact, I met a number of remarkable people during my short stay. The highlight of my visit was the vegan meal and live music on Sunday night. • As my first-ever Airbnb experience and an impromptu one at that, this was a wonderful experience. The listing was accurate, but the reality was even better. Joan's farmhouse is rustic and tucked away, but it is very clean and has all the amenities of a modern, urban house, and the room itself has a surprisingly contemporary feel. (As a T-mobile customer, I didn't have cell service throughout most of western Massachusetts (not just Joan's home), but her wi-fi is fast.) The area surrounding the house is beautiful, with a babbling brook steps away and lots of space for walking and hiking. Finally, Joan was very kind and responsive despite short-notice booking, and she offered very helpful suggestions for places to visit, based on things I wanted to do (eat at a sugar house, visit a farm). At the same time, she was respectful of my desire for quiet and privacy. Thank you, Joan, for a wonderful experience!

  • My stay in Plainfield was wonderfully peaceful. The room was great, the bed comfortable, and Joan was a great host. We didn't see much of one another because of many other commitments on my part, but I couldn't ask for a better place to stay. I highly recommend staying here.

  • Joan is a gem! And so is her lovely home/ property. We had a great time chatting with her and meeting her feisty cat. She was warm and welcoming and our stay was very comfortable. Everything we needed was provided, right down to breakfast recommendations at local cafés. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again- in fact, I hope I get the opportunity to in the future.

  • We stayed at Joan's place in Plainfield when we went to the Wilco Solid Sound Music Festival in North Adams. It is a scenic 25 minute drive through the Berkshires to North Adams. We had never been to Western Massachusetts before, and we had a great time exploring the surrounding area. The beautiful farmhouse is quiet and easy to find. We enjoyed our stay and would stay there again!

    linda2013-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • I cannot recommend Joan and her lovely space enough. A gloriously rambling old farmhouse, sprawling landscapes to explore, good conversations. It was like coming home! The only way it could have been better, would have to been to have more time there! We will be back!

  • This is our 4th year staying here for the masheepwool festival. Joan makes you feel at home, and the land is spectacular. One day we will make out for relaxation!

  • I had to cancel my stay due to ill health. Joan is a super communicator and although we didn't meet, it is clear that she is a nice lady and takes pride in offering rooms to guests. I look forward to giving a stay with Joan another shot in the future.

  • I came to the area to see a concert at MASS MoCA in North Adams (an easy, scenic 40 minute drive). I didn't get a chance to meet Joan as she was at work when I arrived and had an early conference the next day. But Eric happened to be home when I arrived--he gave me a warm welcome, showed me where to park (the home is located at the end of a street, with a lot of space/land), showed me around the home and told me a little of its history, then left me to settle in. Joan was very thoughtful and had left a very detailed note of where to find everything/how to make one’s self at home. Bed/pillows were very comfortable and the room really was a “peaceful getaway”. I was in and out pretty quickly, only staying one night and leaving early the next day, so I didn’t have a chance to use the tub/shower, but the shower head looked nice--kind of like one of those a rain heads, if that is important to you. I would love to stay at Joan’s again, hopefully next time for more than just one night. It’s a peaceful, lovely spot filled with kind and warm people.

Relax in our bright, very spacious apt, on six open acres. Lounge on the stone terrace, under the stars, by a cozy fire, near the garden. 35 min to Northampton, 35 min to MassMoca, 10 min to Bekshire East. Wi-Fi, satellite TV with MLB package, cell coverage, Hearthstone wood stove. Fully outfitted kitchen, home made granola, milk, beverages. Two hybrid bikes available for use. The pics don't do the apartment justice- there are 3, five foot skylights, and a cathedral ceiling, very bright!
The apartment has a queen sized bed, coffee maker (with coffee provided), plenty of pots, pans and utensils, and a new 39" HD TV with DIRECTV satellite service. The space is newly renovated with nine new windows, and new paint on the walls, ceilings, and floors. There are three, 5 foot long skylights on the slanted ceiling- one in the living room, one in the kitchen, and one in the bathroom. There are just about six acres of open field, which faces south/southwest, and a beautiful vegetable garden with stone terraces at both ends. We also built a Black Locust pergola at the south end of the garden, which sits atop a Goshen stone terrace (we just planted grapes, but they're still very short!). There is also a fire pit at one end of the garden, and an outdoor fireplace at the other end. There are flower gardens in several spots on the property. We are 100 yards from the public library, which, itself, has recently been upgraded in a major way. Our home also houses a one room post office (300 sq. feet), which is open from 12pm to 4pm, M-F, and 8:30am to 11:30am on Saturday. It's rarely busy...
Our house is centered in Plainfield Historical district. Plainfield is a town of less than 600 people. Very nice walks and bike rides, right outside our front door!
  • Perfect. That is how my wife and I have described our stay at this apartment each time we are asked about our accommodations on our honeymoon. Even the beautiful pictures on the listing cannot do justice to the charming and inviting atmosphere of this wonderful place. For our honeymoon, we wanted to stay someplace with character and privacy, where we could make our own meals, and where we could easily reach the Berkshires' many cultural destinations. We certainly found those qualities in Plainfield, but Peter and Paula far exceeded our expectations - going well out of their way to welcome us and make our trip special. Their thoughtfulness was revealed in every small detail of our stay; from welcoming us with a bottle of prosecco in honor of our recent marriage, to the invitation to cook with herbs and vegetables from their incredible garden. We felt like honored guests from start to finish. Attention to detail seems to be a specialty for Peter and Paula, since the room itself was spotless and decorated with many fun and attractively repurposed antiques. Likewise, their garden and patio bespoke the many hours of careful planning and hard work that created such a peaceful spot to just sit and relax. Seeing Peter and Paula's patient dedication to restoring and cultivating this property was encouraging and inspiring as my wife and I set out on our life together. We could not have wished for better hosts or a more delightful place to stay, and we are already looking forward to coming back. We have told as many people as possible about this gem, so be sure to book early . . . as long as it is not for a week that we want to be there.

  • My daughter had a lovely stay and appreciated the serenity this location provided. Everything from the homemade granola to the wood-burning stove made this quite the relaxing retreat. Thank you, Peter!

  • This lovely, quiet, comfortable, and spacious apartment was just what we were looking for for a weekend getaway in the Berkshires. A short drive from the museums and historic sites of the region, and from the wonderful Gypsy Apple Bistro, which Peter brought to our attention and became a highlight of the trip, this place is a real gem and we'll hope to return in the winter months.

  • Absolutely charming; tastefully decorated; immaculate; very cozy and comfortable. This second-floor apartment above the town Post Office was a perfect weekend getaway's base of operation. It had all the necessary features—fully appointed kitchen; large TV; WIFI; quality bed and linens—and a view to make just hanging out a worthy activity. I highly recommend it when in the Plainfield area.

  • We got in pretty late so our host left the key for us and told me where it was located. The apt was adorable, super clean, tons of character and so quiet. We only got to stay one night, but wished we could have stayed so much longer. We felt super welcome, my wife said the milk and granola was delicious, and our only disappointment was the length of our stay!

    Kelly2016-05-04T00:00:00Z
  • Peter's apartment was great! It was more like an apartment than a room. Beautiful, quaint with amazing views and a real feeling of peace. My wife and I took a walk to see the country farms and horses. I felt myself starting to relax the second I arrived (and boy did I need it!) The view at night from the porch was breathtaking. Highly recommend!

    Bill2016-04-18T00:00:00Z
  • This place is perfect. I had one of the most relaxing weekends of my life at Peter's apartment. Thirty minutes from some really breathtaking hikes, delicious food and other attractions. The area is very quiet and serene, and at night we lit the wood stove and relaxed on the couch. Our hosts were very accommodating, left us everything we needed and more (granola, milk, cream, tea) and were very willing to replenish anything that we needed. I would absolutely revisit, and hope that I can sometime soon.

    Patrick2015-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first time trying Airbnb and Peter and his family couldn't have extended a warmer welcome or more perfect stay! The apartment is brand new, with perfectly placed decor and unique furniture and fixtures, such as an old window repurposed as a desk and an old toolchest as a bedside table. The apartment is spacious and bright - on the second floor (above the town's post office!) with slanty ceilings dotted with skylights. Peter and his wife and daughter immediately offered use of their entire backyard, which is beautiful and includes a stone terrace and two fire pits. We joined Peter and his daughter Ashley around their fire in the evening, although there was a second fire pit about a hundred yards away in case we were craving privacy. It was chilly for late May, but the warmth of the fire and the amazing expanse of stars was incredibly worth it. Peter's wife Martha had stocked the kitchen in the apartment with delicious homemade granola and fresh milk, as well as coffee and tea, so we were all set with breakfast in the morning before getting on our way. We had mentioned we wanted to do some hiking in the area so they had set out a book of the best hikes. All around it was an extremely lovely experience and we would love to return!!

Welcome to Brooksong! Located in the beautiful Berkshire mountains, part of this bright, sprawling property was built in 1866 as a schoolhouse. It has since retained its historic New England charm while including all the updated comforts of home. Enjoy cocktails and play pool at the antique 1920s bar, cook dinner in the enormous kitchen or enjoy grilling on the porch in the sun. With over five acres of wooded land to explore, Brooksong is perfect for a vacation with friends or family reunion.
Brooksong is an incredibly unique space, full of historical flourishes and quirks--for example, the foundations of a village from the 1800s are still on the property. But the house has been completely updated, so there's no need to live like you're in nineteenth-century New England. Lovingly maintained, Brooksong has the ideal combination of classic and modern decor. The house comfortably sleeps ten so you can enjoy a great weekend in the Berkshire countryside with the people you care about.
In addition to Brooksong's five acres of land, the Berkshire countryside has many other beautiful woods and meadows to hike in. Wahconah Falls State Park is just up the road, and the dramatic waterfall is definitely worth checking out. The town of Dalton has some quaint restaurants and shops, and the Berkshires are renowned for their array of adorable villages and hamlets to browse. The town of Pittsfield is about 10 minutes away and has all the strip mall options you could ask for--Stop & Shop, Home Depot, Target, etc, so you'll be secluded but not cut off from civilization. There are lots of great organic farms around Brooksong--one is right next door--so I highly recommend trying some local meat, dairy and produce.
  • House is great for a large group of friends. Pool table was a blast. The house is super interesting and has great history, had everything we needed.

  • Sulome's beautiful home was really great for the 9 of us. We had 4 kids with us and they were fully entertained by the pool and foosball table. The home was clean, comfortable, large, and fully equipped. The kitchen was great to cook in. Looking forward to staying here again. Highly recommended!

  • Sulome's home is beautiful and was perfect for our family gathering! We enjoyed exploring the Berkshires and nearby state park from her comfortable and convenient Dalton location. Our toddlers loved the swingset and neighboring farm animals. We would definitely return!

  • We stayed here for my brother's bachelor party and had a blast! Plenty of beds, a pool table, and a fire pit made this the perfect place - the really neat mixture of historical architecture and modern upgrades made it even better!

    Ethan2017-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • The perfect home for a group of friends&family equipped with indoor and outdoor activities. We enjoyed playing pool, foosball, making a campfire, cooking in the large kitchen, nature walk to the stream in the backyard, enjoying the neighbors barn with horses, donkeys and pigs, and enjoyed dinner around the huge dining room table with the barn doors open. We stayed in late October and could walk over to the neighbors haunted cornfield which was just a bonus activity for this Home. There was also a huge field across the street where we played some flag football! Sulome was very responsive and easy to work with. The home manager, Glen, stopped by when we arrived to welcome us and let us know he was available if needed. The house was spotless. Everyone had a bed to sleep in and clean towel to shower with. If you’re looking to park your car for the weekend and be surrounded by nature and activities all in one location, then I highly recommend renting this home!!

Mason Hill is a celebration of everything we love about the Berkshires. Mountain views, a rushing swimmable brook, an historic restored barn and outbuildings surrounded by lush forest. Mason Hill is the perfect year-round getaway for any traveler.
Originally a working farm in 1815, the historic Mason Hill is a wondrous getaway in the heart of the Berkshires. Situated on 8 acres, the original farmhouse is still located on the property with the adjoining post and beam barn fully renovated into a rustic yet well tended living space. The barn home features a fully modern and equipped gourmet kitchen with a dual fuel oven and a large comfortable living room and bar area. The adjacent large bedroom also accommodates an extensive library. The home includes a full bath and shower, laundry facilities and an outdoor cedar- lined shower with a view of the Berkshire sky. One queen bed and one bunk in the bedroom; 2 single beds in a semi-private sleeping area enclosed by the historic indoor stable off the living room, and one double bed in a semi-private sleeping area adjacent to the kitchen. There is a large deck off the west side of the barn for casual dining or reading a book while listening to the rushing sound of Kitchen Brook--the beautiful trout stocked brook on the property. Enjoy evenings with sausages and s’mores around the large outdoor fire pit. Perfect for family summer vacations, fall foliage, winter skiing and snowmobiling, reunions and celebrations. Rental is for entire property, except the caretakers' house and adjoining studio.
Cheshire is a rural community located in the heart of the Berkshires 25 minutes from Williamstown & Tanglewood, 15 min from Mass MoCA & ski/snowboard resort: Jiminy Peak. Mason Hill sits at the base of Mount Greylock, the highest peak in Massachusetts. We are a couple blocks from the Appalachian Trail. Kitchen Brook flows down from the top of Greylock and through the property forming a well-known gorge and waterfall. The property is bounded on the east by the beautiful old Cheshire cemetery from the 18th c.
  • For my friends and I, this was our second time staying at Mason Hill and it was even better than the first, for which I also gave a 5-star review. Jim was on the property when we arrived and was extremely helpful, offering his help wherever it was needed though we rarely saw him while we were actually staying there. We spent our nights out at the fire pit, with the sound of the waterfall in the background. I chose to sleep in the cabin down by the firepit and I loved it. It was a slightly chilly those nights but there were plenty of extra blankets. I highly recommend this to any medium-sized gathering of close friends or family looking for a peaceful retreat who don't mind the open-floor plan when it comes to sleeping arrangements. For us it was perfect.

  • This place is truly unique and simultaneously authentic, rustic and chic. Impeccably decorated great flowing space. Rays of morning light illuminate the old timber beams like in a photo. The kitchen encourages group cooking, and the library holds a great selection of nearly 1000 titles. We also enjoyed the mountain stream (you can hear it from the house), old log cabins and hiking trails nearby. Jane and Ian are prompt with communication and really want your stay to be memorable. We highly recommend staying here and look forward to coming back!

  • Our group stayed at Mason Hill for a weekend and went to a music festival at Mass MoCa during the days. The Mason Hill barn and cabin made for a perfect place for us. Jim was a great host and made sure we had everything we needed. There is an old historic cemetary next door that we went for a walk in one morning. As we entered the cemetary we were thinking that we should have asked Jim if he knew any history about it. Just as we said that, Jim pulled in to the cemetary and pointed out a couple interesting historic graves to us. The barn itself is really awesome. It is full of cool antiques and is really wide open and perfect for a group that wants to hang out together in one big space. The sleeping arrangements are not very private, but we were able to fit 10 comfortably. The kitchen had plenty of pots and pans for us to cook for the group. The cabin down by the waterfall doesn't have electricity, but it has a wood burning stove and it is in a beautiful spot with the sound of water rushing by. There is a place to have a campfire next to the cabin with benches and a picnic table. There was wood provided as well. We also enjoyed the deck off the side of the barn for sitting outside, the outdoor shower, and the random antiques hanging in the barn's rafters. Our whole group really enjoyed the atmosphere of Mason Hill and would definitely recommend it. We look forward to going back someday.

  • My family and friends had a great stay at the Barn! The Barn is perfectly located to enjoy the outdoors - we cycled along the rail trail and up Mt. Greylock, and went hiking. It's also perfectly located between some of my favorite Berkshires spots - Jacob's Pillow, MASS MOCA, etc. The grounds around the barn are beautiful. I especially enjoyed relaxing in the hammock by the creek! The outdoor shower is really nice too. The only drawback of the Barn is the one bathroom being located off the only bedroom. While the barn can sleep a good number of people, there's not much privacy and the bed off the kitchen is a bit awkward.

    Sara2016-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was exactly as described: spacious, rustic, and well-tended. The kitchen is fantastic and modern, even though the building itself is quite old and charming. The caretaker is solicitous and welcoming. It's a close walk to an AT trail head and the neighborhood is peaceful enough for running along the (hilly!) roads. A wonderful, easy place to spend a weekend.

  • This is a gem of a place in the Berkshires. Perfect location if you're interested in hiking or checking out MassMoca. The property is lovely, the interior is clean and decorated in a fun, quirky way. Everything was as described and the entire experience was extremely positive.

  • We had a wonderful stay at Mason Hill—enjoyed the peaceful and beautiful setting, the rustic and elegant home with open space and comfortable beds, and a great kitchen. Although staying on Mason Hill is vacation enough, the location is convenient to North Adams and Mass MoCA, Mount Greylock and all kinds of hiking. Don't miss the Ashuwilticook Bike Trail, it's a real gem.

  • We loved this place! Jane and Ian were great hosts and the place was just as described. We loved the location for touring the Berkshires and it's very convenient to hiking trails in the area. The waterfall back was a really nice added plus for our stay and the fresh apples picked from the trees were an unexpected bonus! I'd highly recommend both the barn and the hosts. They were very helpful with recommendations for dining in the area and very accommodating! It's a beautiful place with a rustic charm. Randy and Valda

  • Peter's home is located right in the center of the town. We enjoyed the real American home setting. The house has two bedrooms and a lounge and a kitchen, which has the old style charm. Although you don't have fancy TV or media devices, you have a good high speed WIFI connection. If you want a quiet, relaxing stay with traditional charm, Peter' home is the right choice.

  • The apartment has potential for being sweet -- But.... Shower mechanism broken -- could not operate shower even after calling and discussing with host.(Handle or knob missing from toothpick shaped pin to "pull for shower" per host's verbal instruction after I called.) I was utterly unable to pull the pin far enough out. Host offered a vice grip(!) but that was not practical as I would have had to leave the apartment to find it -- and I was already undressed for what I expected to be a quick shower on way to funeral. Bathroom was not cleaned at all since prior use. I had splurged to pay for a "private" space -- not shared -- so the unclean bathroom was upsetting. I would have cleaned it myself, but there was no windex and the spray household cleanser I found was a strong bleach chemical which I didn't want to handle. The host made very kind comments when I mentioned I was traveling for a funeral of very close family member -- I really appreciated that. But, was terribly difficult to book due to host's extra ID requirement. I have ID, but getting a copy of it to Airbnb at the 11th hour due to host's extra requirement took a lot of time and was very frustrating -- but when I contacted the host directly, he was responsive and approved my booking. The layout and furniture are comfortable. Nice clean sheets (but old towels -- ok, but not great) Host left a bottle of Prosceco (sp?) in the fridge, which was a nice touch. Space just needs minor (but important) repairs and signage. And needs professional housekeeping between guests. Beware if you have allergies or sensitivities to mold or similar issues. Got used to the smell after an hour, but it hit hard on entering. Not a problem for some people. but could be huge for others. Location is close to many other houses on a small residential street near downtown. Despite reference to "Berkshires" in the listing title, you do not see any mountains from this bnb. My mistake to think I would, but.... Hoping problems will be fixed before someone else books for the next reservation. Host apologized for the unclean bathroom, but did not apologize for the inadequate plumbing fixtures, which baffled me. Apparently, host feels that everyone should have fingers as strong as a vice grip, but I don't. Lack of an easily functional shower was huge problem for me.

  • Peter is a nice person and was pretty responsive with check-in questions. It was very easy to check-in. It is a outdated place which dust around . There were moths flying around. Old house odors were prominent. I was not angry at all after finding all this with a 9 months old baby at a memorial day weekend evening , only because Peter is a very nice person.

  • My friends and I needed a comfortable, affordable place to spend one night after seeing a show with the Barrington Stage Company in Pittsfield, MA. This rental was conveniently located within a reasonably short driving distance, easy to find, and perfectly suitable to our needs. Peter's communication was great, and we were very pleased with both the accommodations as well as the overall experience!

  • Peter's place was a great base for our Berkshires vacation, being just a short drive from MassMoca and other local attractions. We had good communication from Peter when needed, and we appreciated having a nice quiet space to get a good night's sleep after busy days of sightseeing. Easy to find and access, and a good value for the area.

  • Kelly was a gracious, friendly host. She's very welcoming and low key. Her cozy room is pretty spacious -- more so than we expected, which was a pleasant plus. He home truly does have a spectacular view. It's well situated in a quiet neighborhood that's still very convenient to all the important attractions of the area.

  • My 15-year old son and I traveled to Adams in search of adventure, and Judith's apartment was a wonderful base. She graciously loaned my son a bike and we rode almost all of the 11.2 mile Ashuwillticook Trail, which is well-maintained and has minimal street crossings. She also got us a library pass to the Susan B. Anthony Birthplace Museum, which is worth a visit. After that, we had ice cream at the local Rainbow Shack (yum!) and went to MASS MoCA in North Adams. The next day, we went to Lanesborough to do the high ropes adventure course at Ramblewild and play putt putt at Baker's Golf Center. Judith's apartment is very clean, and she is a font of knowledge about the mill town history of Adams. She showed me the entrance to a 1:20 hike to the summit of Mt. Greylock, but we ran out of time. Next year...

  • This apartment is incredibly clean and Judy clearly cares about making this a nice space with comforts of home. The two bedrooms are nicely spaced from each other in opposite areas of the apt. and light shines in from all sides. This is a quiet residential neighborhood in Adams, but close enough to town to walk along the rail trail (in the snow!) to get breakfast (about a 15 minute walk). Overall, a nice stay. Judy is a friendly, helpful person.

  • Two friends and I stayed at Judith's place for the weekend. She was very friendly and happy to make suggestions about things to see/do in the area. Her apartment is nice and extremely clean (just like in the pictures). The beds were very comfortable. The neighborhood is quiet, has plenty of parking and is only five minutes from downtown Adams. Perfect place for a group of 3-5.

  • Stayed at Judith's while we attended Freshgrass at MassMOCA in North Adams. Everything worked out great. We had the privacy of having our own apartment, yet Judith was available if we needed anything, or wanted to know more about the area. The apartment was beautiful, interesting, fun (loved the art and decor), clean, and comfortable, and she was such an accommodating, wonderful hostess. We would love to come back!

  • Judith is truly a wonderful host. Her upstairs apartment is just lovely. It was super clean, has been carefully decorated, and was really comfy. We had a slight change in our plans, and Judith was very accommodating. She gave us some excellent recommendations for places to eat in Adams, and even went through the trouble of picking up some MOCA passes! We didn't end up using the museum passes, but it was very nice to have the option. I stayed here with 2 friends, and we hope to go back at some point in the future.

    Rebecca2016-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • Judith was great! Very welcoming plus lots of extras (homemade apple bars, ice cream, yogurt, coffee, etc.). The place was very pretty and I loved that the 2 bedrooms are on opposite sides of the apartment - lots of privacy.

Peaceful Lakeside Cabin, family-friendly activities. The cabin has one king size bed in the upstairs bedroom, a full sofa bed in the living/dining area, 2 tri-fold floor mats, a wood stove with propane heat back-up , washer and dryer and is fully furnished. Dogs are OK if they are flea free, and can remain on the first un-carpeted floor and off the furniture please. Crooked Pond Cabin is a slice of heaven! Enjoy!
  • We had a wonderful time at the house on Crooked Pond. Even though the week started very cool and wet, the house had a wood stove and plenty of wood which kept us warm and comfortable until the sun came out. The view is amazing, the fishing was decent, and the views of wildlife were great. nearby towns were great quick trips and everyone was very freindly.

    Rodney2017-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing time at the cabin. Very cozy and relaxing. Everything we could have asked for. And I really love how it's off the beaten path. Very private and quiet

  • We had a lovely time, the cabin is very cozy and beautifully decorated. You can't beat the view! We went swimming every day and enjoyed the sunset from the deck every night. I can't recommend this location enough.

  • Such a beautiful spot! The lake was magical. Amazing swimming and canoeing and with the water just outside the windows it was definitely a dreamy and restful stay ❤️

  • The cabin was a dream! I went for some peaceful contemplation, and it was the perfect spot for reflection. Quiet and serene. Crooked Pond is beautiful and the cabin was exactly as described.

  • Incredible lakeside cabin. Canoe was nice to have. Perfect views of foliage & entire lake from every part of the house. Will definitely be back.

    Michael2017-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great weekend getaway on this beautiful pond. The deck overlooking the pond was really great and our favorite part about the house!

    Natasha2016-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • Deborah's place is an absolutely wonderful getaway. We managed to catch the peak of fall foliage and the views from the cabin are spectacular! The area around is quiet and peaceful, the neighbors (and local geese) are all very friendly, and the pond was warm enough for canoeing and swimming even in October. Perfect location if you're looking to do some sightseeing in western MA, and equally perfect if you're just looking for a quiet getaway. Would definitely stay again!

  • Lisa's place is on a quiet little lane which is a nice little respite after lots of art viewing at MassMOCA or The Clark Museum. It's clean, well kept and simple. Adams has some great little spots to explore - The Grind was an awesome local dinner with good breakfast. I'll be back next time I need an art vacation.

  • Bellissima casa con camere arredate con grazia e gusto ubicato nel verde bosco. L'ospitalità di Joan è stato impeccabile, attenta e esauriente. Ci siamo sentiti rilassati e come se fossimo alla casa di un caro parente. Altamente consigliato!

  • Gorgeous property in a quintessentially New England rural area. Joan and Erik were extremely kind. I loved the peace and quiet, and the down comforter with a flannel cover!

    Kristie2014-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Joan was fantastic - I was able to book within 24 hours of arriving. I let her know what I planned to do -- Tanglewood, Clark, etc. -- and she let me know how far it was -- that it was a 45 minute drive. She also gave very detailed instructions, but I'm happy to note her place is on (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) Maps. I was able to arrive without any problems, even just before midnight. She had everything all ready. She is very warm, and I was happy to chat with her the next morning. It is a good base from which to visit places I was interested in. I was glad to have gotten the booking. I felt very comfortable. Additionally, I mentioned that I was allergic to cats, and she made sure to accommodate that request. She is very thoughtful and communicative, which is so much appreciated, given the short timing between booking and arrival!

  • House was well equipped and filled with eclectic of art and media befitting such a funky cool host. Cat Kira runs the show. Old house with lots of interesting nooks and crannies to review.

    Christina2015-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • Joan and Erik provided a perfectly restful place in a beautiful setting. My kids are working nearby for Student Conservation Association, and I will certainly stay here again!

    Kathy2013-05-12T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I stayed with Joan for a night after going to a concert at MassMOCA. We arrived quite late and woke up late as well so we unfortunately were unable to meet Joan face to face. Her house was comfortable and cozy and we found our way around easily with help from Joan's very clear and detailed notes. Kira the cat greeted us upon arrival and towels were laid out on the bed, complete with biscotti. In the morning, Joan left us coffee-making supplies. We were left wanting of absolutely nothing. Joan's home is a beautiful example of vintage New England craftsmanship, nestled in the gorgeous Berkshire foothills. We would love to return one of these days and we would recommend a visit to anyone!

Our sunny apartment is located midway between Northampton and the Berkshires, in a lovely rural setting. The kitchen, bath and studio living area are in a private apartment, surrounded by 12 acres of open fields. The kitchen is well equipped and includes all the makings for tea and coffee. And breakfast is provided - usually in the form of fresh baked goods delivered to your door!
  • Erin is a terrific warm host and her carriage house is spectacular! I only wish we had more time to spend with her and her family on our short trip.

Very friendly atmosphere. Super clean, and it's nice to have the kitchen and bathroom downstairs with the open layout.

  • The Carriage House is a fantastic country get away. Close to farm pastures and the Berkshires, it is a great escape from the city. My wife and I happily stayed there with our two young children and enjoyed the space. Erin's baked goods were fantastic and filling and a great way to start our country days. Erin was wonderful to work with and always helpful if we had a question.

  • We felt very at home at Kimberly's place. It was comfortable, clean and easy to find. A great location for our weekend trip through the Berkshires. We were only there for one night, but ideal for bigger parties/families as well. A definite recommendation.

It was great to have someone so communicative, even at the last minute! Her place is well located and charming. Would be great for a larger group as well.

  • Great location, but house is dark and run down with tired old furnishings and chipped and stained bathroom fixtures with a filthy shower/bath that was filled with soap scum and hair (We could not bring ourselves to use the shower). The kitchen towels were dirty and the throw rugs were not vacuumed. When we emailed the host about finding a used towel in the bathroom upon our arrival, this was her response: “so sorry, the orange towels in the bathroom are clean. There are clean towels in the drawers in the kitchen and bathroom towels are in the cabinet. My apologies, I left in a hurry and forgot to switch them out. There is no Wi-Fi, hopefully you have a good data plan. Of course my home was cleaned prior to your arrival. I have nothing but wonderful reviews stating so. Again my apologies for forgetting the towels. I hope you have a great evening.”

  • Ann-Marie was a most generous and considerate host. We had everything we needed during our stay, which couldn't have been more comfortable. The rambling, historic farmhouse in Adams was perfect for us -- lots of room, a beautiful setting, and central to the various places we toured -- Williamstown, Bennington, North Adams, Pittsfield, Lenox, Stockbridge, Amherst. We will remember our stay with great fondness and appreciation.

    Steve2017-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • I highly recommend this B&B its way more then just any B&B its filled with love..beauty...and will make beautiful memories

    Karen2017-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • Ann-Marie is warm and welcoming, and her lovely and very comfortable apartment is as big as a house and stocked with everything you need. The setting is beautiful and convenient, there's great phone reception (not always true in that neck of the woods), and the vegetables at her family's farm stand could not be more delicious. We hope to come back soon. Thanks, Ann-Marie!

    Ellen2017-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • First off, Ann-Marie was easy to communicate with, timely, and greeted us when we arrived. She even set up the place like a B&B, with tons of breakfast and lunch foods, drinks, etc. It was really over the top and nice! The place is literally in a farmhouse, next to a farm, and they have a farm stand right out back. Although old, that's what made it special and unique. We highly recommend staying here if you are taking a quick trip into Western MA, or MASS MoCA. It's so close to downtown North Adams!

    Megan2017-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • Our intention was to visit western MA as a last getaway before hip replacement surgery. We had tickets to a play at the Williamstown Theater Festival. The choice of the Howland House farmhouse experience was exceptional in multiple ways. The location is proximate to many of the attractions in that part of the state. The farmhouse is distinctive and intriguing; we and our friends spent much time admiring architectural details of both the unit we occupied and the entire edifice, speculating about the majestic feel it must have possessed as a single family mansion. Although there are five units in the house now, it was quiet and comfortable the entire stay. Kitchen was the most well stocked of any airbnb in our experience. Photos on the property profile that showed the unit to be spacious were accurate . There were four of us for the weekend and could have been comfortable with six. We even enjoyed the experience of watching a storm front pass through while having coffee on the screened-in porch overlooking the rolling front lawn. No doubt we will be back!

    Robert2017-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • This place was not my cup of tea. I would not return.

    Brian2017-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • Ann-Marie's place is a charming home in Adams, MA! The location is perfect for exploring the Berkshires- the downtown of Adams, with the famous contemporary art museum, Mass MOCA, cafes, and scenic hikes- is only a 5 minute drive away. The house is extremely spacious and has a beautiful view of the farm. We were delighted to find that the house was kindly stocked with snacks and drinks! Ann-Marie was so thoughtful and easy to communicate with- when we couldn't turn on the TV, she had someone help us to fix it right away. My friends and I had a wonderful stay.

    Alyssa2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • We had a perfect long weekend: the house had a great, rustic charm, and your generosity - including involving us in your dad's syrup hobby - went above and beyond! That, and your availability and communicativeness about everything from recommendations in the local area to helpful warnings about the occasional boxelder and lady bugs made us feel like we knew exactly what were in for, and our experience met every expectation.

  • Wonderful attention from Rachel about all things - getting there, what we might need, and making sure we were settled nicely. Loved the cat - BlackJack who greeted us as soon as we drove in the driveway.

    Ted2017-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • Rachel was a very communicative host who kept us in the loop throughout the entire process. This was our first Airbnb experience and it went off without any problems. The credit goes to Rachel for this. Though we only stayed a night, I'm sure had it been a longer duration it would have been just as comforting knowing how Rachel paid close attention to our experience.

    Ryan2017-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • Rachel was an absolutely fantastic host and we could not have asked for more. She went above and beyond to add lots of homey touches, extra toiletries, etc that made us feel right at home the moment we arrived at this very cute little house! Rachel was super communicative the whole time from when we first inquired about the place, through the booking process, and all the way through our arrival, stay, and departure; she always responded to messages insanely fast! The home itself was very quiet and peaceful with a beautiful view, but still just a short drive away from downtown, which is exactly what we were looking for on our weekend getaway. We loved that she made her Amazon and Netflix titles available to us and enjoyed a quiet night in watching tv/movies our first night there. The listing advertises that it is kid-friendly, and although we were just a young couple staying and don't have kids, I would say that it is definitely a great place to stay if you do. This was our first time vacationing as a couple and we were absolutely blown away by our airbnb experience. Thank you so much, Rachel, for your kindness and hospitality!

Minutes away from the Berkshire East ski resort , with all winter and summer recreational activities 15 minutes down route 2 to picturesque Shelburne Falls! Beautiful views!! Soothing babbling brooke! You can almost touch the moon and stars in the night sky. Whether a single adventurer or a couple, you will enjoy!
The apartment has a really comfortable bed and all kitchen amenities, plus Internet and DirectTV. I have a telescope on the back porch if you are a star gazer and also you will have access to a small barbecue (always available in the summer and even in the winter for the brave of heart). From the back porch , walk down to (babbling) Hawkes Brooke or across the brooke to 100 acres of unspoiled nature.
We are up in East Hawley. I have a couple of neighbors, but the feel is very private and secluded. There is a Tibetan Buddhist temple , 3 minute walk up the street. The Berkshire East ski resort, with summer and winter activities is a 5-10 minute drive. Charlemont is a 10 minute drive and has an awesome general store, Averys, plus and award winning Pizzeria and the new Cold River restaurant. 15 Minutes down the road is historic and picturesque Shelburne falls. 1/2 hour drive west on RT 2 is Williamstown, home of Williams College.
  • We have stayed at a few Airbnb places throughout New England, and can only comment that we have enjoyed each stay to date -- and this cozy and private apartment in Hawley was no exception. Being Paul's first guest at his new place was a bit daunting, and we only hoped that our shared experiences as guests/host would not sway Paul from continuing to share his home here and look forward to accommodating more guests. After a little mishap with timing of our arrival -- owing to the lack of cell service in the area, and depending on your provider -- the check-in process, welcome greetings from Paul, our host, the rest of our long weekend was just perfect. We were in the area to ski at Berkshire East resort, and this inviting apartment suited us perfectly. It is just right for a single person or couple getaway, and the brand new space was comfortable, quiet, clean, and had all the amenities that anyone would need in a quiet country setting in the Berkshires -- including internet and Direct TV! Paul provided, in his words, "simple" breakfast items that worked ideally for us. The kitchen was well stocked -- and the coffee/fruits carefully laid out for us was so very tasty! We were able to move about and come and go easily without disturbing our host -- but he was also very welcoming and friendly when we saw him through the weekend, and ensured we were content. We definitely would stay again should our ourselves in need of a tranquil place to rest and relax comfortably in our busy adventures.

  • If you're traveling to the Charlemont area and looking for a place to stay look no further. Our stay with Paul was perfect in every way. Great communication, amazing location with mountain views and a babbling brook so close to the house it will sing you to sleep at night. When we arrived Paul met us at the driveway to give us a tour and our key. The space was recently built and it's so cozy it felt like home away from home, it's the perfect amount of space and very private. Huge bonus was that Paul stocked the fridge and pantry full of so many wonderful healthy breakfast options and snack goodies! Overall our stay with Paul exceeded our expectations and if we find ourselves back in the Charlemont area we will certainly be staying with Paul!

  • Paul was terrific. Great communication and my visiting guests enjoyed the home and hospitality.

  • This is a private apartment with a deck- seats and a table if you want to eat breakfast(or anything) looking over a brook and into a wooded area and the hills beyond. It is very quiet(the rushing of the brook is the only thing we heard). You have a bedroom/sitting room, a separate kitchen/ dining place and a bathroom(which has soaps and shampoos and conditioner). There is a door between the Bedroom and dining/kitchen area- which is helpful because the TV is in the dining area- so if one of you wants to sleep while the other watches TV- you can shut the door! Paul is a generous host- there was great food, beverages and snacks provided in the kitchen and fridge. The kitchen is fully stocked with many appliances and cookware. There were also chocolate bars on the pillows! There is wifi and a landline phone as cell service is limited. Paul knows all about the area if you need suggestions but he is also very considerate of your privacy. It was a perfect place for us to stay for a family wedding in a place about 15 minutes away.

  • Paul is a perfect host. His home is relatively new and has virtually anything that someone could need while away for a weekend or a week. Paul was always available by cell and even though he was home all weekend, we had complete privacy and a truly quiet space. Paul stocked the kitchen with fresh fruits, juices, drinks, granola and everything a person could want for breakfast and to munch on during the day. Nearly all these products were sourced from local vendors and that added a wonderful home town feel to this true slice of country living. We would definitely stay again and encourage anyone who is looking to spend some time in the beautiful Berkshires to stay with Paul!

  • Paul was a fantastic host. His small apartment, attached to his main house, was the perfect place for us to stay to attend the Solid Sound festival about 30 minutes west in north Adams. He was so kind to leave us breakfast, fresh fruit, and juice in the fridge. He was very responsive to us as we were arriving. We would recommend his space to anyone looking for a secluded getaway right by the ski slopes, or for a summer escape!

  • Paul's home was very cozy, clean, and quaint. Paul himself was very kind and accommodating. He stocked the refrigerator in the kitchen with items for breakfast, which was very convenient. He was a very nice host, and available to answer any questions we had before and during our stay. He even checked in on us halfway through our trip to see if we needed anything, He's also very respectable of your privacy. The home has a lovely view of the mountains from the guest apartment window, as well as a babbling brook just outside--a wonderful sight and sound to go to bed and wake up to. It's also very close to many area attractions and neighboring towns like Shelburne Falls. It's a great place to go if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of every day life to escape to natural beauty and peacefulness. I highly recommend it!

My place is close to Jiminy Peak ski resort, Mt Greylock, Tanglewood, home of the BSO, art and culture. You’ll love my place because of the views, the location, the outdoors space, the ambiance, the people.. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, families (with kids), and furry friends (pets).
  • What a great place! A boys' cycling weekend brought us to Katherine's home. The house was exactly as pictured and all 6 of us felt like we picked a winner with this house! The nearby paved bike trail was also a huge hit. It took us into town for drinks and again for breakfast. Katherine was a GREAT host. Outstanding communication and very accommodating. I would definitely book this house again if the opportunity presented itself.

  • 7 of us spent a beautiful April weekend at Katherine's cabin in Cheshire. It was a wonderful home base for exploring the Berkshires, and the accommodations were excellent.

    Gabe2017-04-16T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay at this cabin - nice and quiet location, plenty of beds and a decently equipped kitchen. We spent half a day tubing down the side of the house in the snow! The 24hr supermarket nearby has everything you could possibly need. My only complaint is the internet is too slow to use and no T-Mobile coverage but AT&T worked fine.

    Nathan2017-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • The house is beautiful!! The location is perfect, close to everything, yet very peaceful and relaxing. The house had everything we needed. Perfect place for couples traveling, especially since there is more than one bathroom. Great size and very clean. We will definitely be booking with Katherine on our next visit!!

  • Very quiet and peaceful location. Beautiful views and a huge grassy yard that was great for letting the kids burn off some energy after a long car ride. They also loved the jacuzzi tub. The house is three levels with one bedroom on each level. It was nice to be able to spread out a bit. Also, 2.5 baths, large eat in kitchen plus another dining table. Great place for families!

  • Beautiful cabin. Great for large groups or even a couple for a long weekend. Katherine gave us everything we needed. Well situated in the berkshires, nothing is too far of a drive

  • We went up to the Berkshires to enjoy the fall foliage. Danielle’s huge beautiful lakefront property was a perfect getaway from the busy city. Danielle herself was also very prompt in her communication which is greatly appreciated.

    Andrew2017-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • We has fantastic time at Danielle's house. It is spacious, clean and wonderfully decorated. The property is beautiful: well maintained, and is on the bank of a scenic lake. Property description was accurate, Danielle answered all our questions quickly, and was very helpful throughout our stay. A s'mores set for the kids, which Danielle left for us, was a nice gesture we all appreciated and enjoyed. Overall - very happy with the experience. Thank you!

  • Everything was as expected! The House was beautiful and welcoming. The s’mores essentials were a nice treat. Pictures did do the view justice! One thing to keep in mind, bring a gate if you have smaller children.
