Tivoli is a tiny village, friendly & quaint, centrally located between Rhinebeck and Hudson with Germantown and Red Hook along the way. It's one of the Hudson Valley's hidden gems and an easy, 5 minute walk from the Barn. • Beautiful place with all details well thought through, including a fire waiting for us upon arrival

  • We loved our time at the Barn! The grounds were lovely- we had to practically drag our 4 and 5 year old out of the creek each evening. They had so much fun exploring the property. The barn itself is so special. Special thanks to Bruna and Andrew for all the awesome suggestions on places to visit. We had a wonderful time!

  • I recently stayed at The Barn for a 2 night work retreat with my company. It was the perfect place to get out of NYC and do some brainstorming and hanging out. We found everything we needed to BBQ and cook a few simple meals. The property is beautiful and The Barn itself was extremely comfortable for a team of 5 and an all around great creative work environment. I really enjoyed the bar in Tivoli but be aware that you have to drive out of town to get beer and alcohol.

  • We had an absolutely lovely time at the Barn in Tivoli. The pictures do not do justice to how beautiful the space truly is - we enjoyed the openness of the 3 floors and the amazing back yard. This rental is truly a gem on airbnb and everyone should give themselves the treat that is spending a night here. Bruna was very easy to communicate with and the instructions she provided for the barn itself and the surrounding area worked perfectly. We went wine tasting, antique hunting and most importantly enjoyed a quiet weekend in a beautiful place.

  • Gorgeous, barn-chic Airbnb. The hosts clearly put a lot of heart and soul into designing a nice and relaxing space. We had a group of six in town for a wedding, and it felt very roomy. Lots of rules and regulations associated with staying here (i.e. strict check-in/check-out time policy, and no other people--except pre-approved list of guests--allowed on the property at any time), but not a deal-breaker for a group of 30+ year-olds:)

Tivoli is one of the hidden gems of the Hudson Valley. It serves a big portion of the Bard University population - students & professors are often seen walking around the village at the coffee shop and bakery. There are also many young families who moved up from NYC + BK and old residents including internationally renowned artists and other prominent creatives. Tivoli is tiny, friendly, quaint and centrally located between Rhinebeck and Hudson with Red Hook and Germantown along the way. It's an awesome spot to explore the Mid-Hudson Valley - from farms to old mansions, from antiquing to watching cabaret at the Spiegeltent in the Summer or opera & dance at the Frank Gehry Performing Arts Center. Visit Olana, catch experimental shows at the Basilica Hudson and take a look at the future MAI building (Marina Abramovic Institute). Not to mention all the wonderful dining experiences in Tivoli and all the way from Kingston to Hudson. And if you fall in love with it all, get a job at Etsy or open your own business and move here! Yeah, it's a pretty amazing area. I also love that Tivoli has one of each amenity and they are all worth checking out: a coffee shop a bakery a general store a mexican restaurant a sushi place a tapa's inspired restaurant/wine bar a super modern & suberb Mediterranean inspired farm-to-table restaurant a yarn shop a bead shop (it's always closed tho) a theater a gallery a yoga studio a dance farm a pub a facial salon an ayurvedic treatment spot and a Hudson Valley estuary, Tivoli Bays
  • This is a fabulous home situated just a stone's throw away from the picturesque little town of Tivoli. Aside from being clean, comfortable and having all the amenities you might need, the house also boasts a large deck, a fire place and several fire pits in the enormous yard, a grill, a shower that feels like you're out in the open because of the skylights and a private creek on the property. Our 1,5 year old also enjoyed the beautiful collection of wooden toys. Perhaps not the most baby safe space, but we could easily handle it between the two of us. I would definitely recommend this to whoever is looking for a place upstate!

  • Bruna & Andrew's cottage is the perfect little getaway. Tivoli is a sweet little town and it's a great home base for exploring a lot of different towns in the area. The house itself is beautifully decorated and very comfortable. We did a fair amount of cooking in the house, and the kitchen is well-stocked with tools for cooking and the very basic pantry supplies. The property is wonderful, and building a fire one night was an enormous highlight. We would definitely recommend this home and hope to come back sometime!

  • My boyfriend and I enjoyed a lovely weekend escape to “Sweet Home in Country Wonderland.” The house is cozy and welcoming and as animal lovers we really enjoyed having the company of Bruna’s kitty cat. She was a sweetie pie! (Website hidden by Airbnb) The home is in a prime location, walking distance to town and restaurants. Also just a few minutes away are Tivoli Bays hiking trails that run along the Hudson River. The kitchen was a joy to cook in & the surrounding property fun to explore. We were able to rejuvenate and even brush up on our hula hooping skills :) The house was a great fit for us and I wish that we had the time to stay a bit longer. Thank you Bruna!

  • We had a wonderful time at Bruna and Andrew’s Modern-Bohemian Country Escape! Bruna could not have been more accommodating. Originally my husband and I were looking for a weekend getaway but then my sister, husband and their 4 month old decided to come too! The house was perfect for all of us and was exactly as pictured. The kitchen was well stocked and every room was beautifully decorated. Bruna made sure to check in on us via text and answer any of our questions. She also provided great information about the area around us. It was so nice to be able to walk into town each morning for coffee and treats. We had a wonderful weekend and only wish our stay was longer!

  • We had a truly terrific winter getaway to the cabin. It's really beautifully decorated (inspirational, in fact!) and very comfortable. Lots of wood for the stove, a huge king sized bed in the master, a deep soaking tub in the upstairs bathroom. Tons of great books to flip through. We knew we were going to cook a lot and so brought what we needed (spices and tools), but the essentials are there. It's a five minute walk to Tivoli (which was understandably sleepy mid-week late December) and we hiked on our way home, twenty minutes away in Esopus, although there are closer jaunts. Communication was easy and gracious. We had a beautiful time, and would love to come back in the summer!

  • Bruna and Andrew are wonderful hosts! Providing very thorough instructions about the house, town, where to eat & what to do, they created a very comfortable environment! The house is beautiful, even better than the photos. Can't wait to get back here. Thank you Bruna & Andrew! <3

A charming 'Camping Cabin' in the forest on 20+ acres of overlooking a 1 1/2 acre lake. [Some would call it a pond, but it is 10 feet deep with a thermocline] The property is shared with a Sioux Tipi [Not visible from the cabin] which can be booked along with the cabin if there are more than 2 or 3 people in your group.
This is a charming 'Camping Cabin' in the woods on more than 20 acres of woodlands overlooking a 1 and 1/2 acre lake. [Some would call it a pond, but it is 10 feet deep with a thermocline, by definition, a lake - more on that below] This tiny cabin has maximum occupancy of 3 people. There is a queen size mattress in the sleeping loft, and the bench on the first floor has a 6 inch thick foam seat that is the size of a single bed – 80 inches by 27 inches. For 3 adults, the cabin is small. If you are considering more than 2, we have another off the grid cabin also listed on Airbnb that sleeps 4 with 2 queen beds that you may prefer. That one is about 15 miles to the north. At the end of this description is a method to find our other retreats on Airbnb. DISCOUNTS: Rates are discounted for teachers, seniors [62], and full time students. Last minute bookings made 36 hours or less prior to check in time are discounted also - the last minute discount is automatically input by Airbnb, for one of the others, send an inquiry and we can input it. This 20 acre property is shared by a Sioux Tipi, [from April to November only]. The tipi will occasionally have guests. Guests at the tipi will have access to the well to get drinking water, and the floating dock and canoe is shared with them. They have their own paddles, so they don’t need to disturb you to use the canoe. As the crow flies, the tipi is about 250 feet distant, and not visible from the cabin]. The Cabin is insulated and has heat. There is a sleeping loft with a queen size mattress accessed by a ladder. Chloe's Cabin is 8 feet by 10 feet, and 13 feet high, plus a covered porch. The cabin does not having running water inside. There is a water well [see below]. The cabin is not connected to the electric grid - that's what 'camping cabin' refers to. We have installed a small solar electric system. This provides 12 V DC to operate two lamps and to run the water pump. There is a USB port - enough for charging small electronic devices. There is a lightweight 2 person Kevlar canoe for your use. Lake has lots of fish - bass, sunnies and carp. The forest has lots of wildlife, deer, fox, bear, wild turkeys, owls, etc. For cooking there is a 2 burner Coleman camp stove, and outside, a fire place with a grill. It is an idyllic getaway for those who appreciate nature. About the area: Saugerties is about 3 miles away, a sweet village with numerous antique shops. The center of Woodstock is less than 10 miles from the property. The equestrian 'HITS' is nearby. This is at the edge of the Catskill Mountains, with fishing, hiking, tubing, and other outdoor activities nearby. In the summer months the lake has watermeal, tiny pinhead size leaves that float on the surface. When it's breezy, the lake surface is clear of it, when it's totally calm the leaves spread out on the lake. When cold weather comes, they're gone. Our favorite times there are October through May. The cold weather makes the water clear, lake-like, in summer, it looks more like a pond. For the past 25 years, this has been one of our favorite retreats. We began sharing the cabin in summer 2011. We had retired, so owning and maintaining a $400,000. property just to camp a few weekends a year became extravagant. To make it feasible, we decided to ask guests to bring their own sleeping bags and towels, and that they 'leave it as they found it' This has worked well, it seems that guests who are interested in this type of retreat are most always respectful of the property and of the next guest. To date more than 98% of a few hundred guests have left the cabin in good shape and clean. Every month or so we check out the cabin to restock supplies and fix deficiencies, if any. We have at the cabin plates, glasses, utensils, toilet paper, paper towels, candles, a Coleman 2 burner propane stove for cooking, and fuel for it. As it is camping, we ask that you bring sleeping bags, a flashlight, matches, newspaper for lighting the campfire, etc. - what you would for any camping trip. In front of the cabin there's a fire place with a grill. We supply firewood. You may need to split it to size for campfires – there is a splitting maul at the cabin. IN DRY SEASON BE SURE NO COMBUSTIBLES ARE NEAR THE FIRE PIT WHEN YOU MAKE A FIRE, AND DON'T LEAVE AN UNATTENDED FIRE. . .------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Update: A guest who posted a review of our Sioux Tipi in Woodstock, New York introduced us to a word we didn’t know, writing: “Wow. All I can say is that this is THE place for anyone wanting the complete Woodstock experience. . . I really enjoyed the privacy and getting to enjoy the scene without distractions. The tipi isn't the most glamorous experience, but it's glamping to the highest compliment. . . Highly, highly recommended for city folk who want to get in touch with their inner Paul Bunyans.” Looking up “glamping,” we found this definition: 'Going camping, but with glamour. A combination of the two words. It's like regular camping , but with nicer things than usual, being warmer, and more comfortable. . . Satisfying your craving for the outdoors and your penchant for a good meal, nice glass of wine, and a comfortable bed.' Now “glamorous camping” sounds like an oxymoron, but I suppose it’s possible, e. g: 'Oh Heathcliffe dear, I'm ever so glad we are glamping this weekend. By the way, is the butler done catching our trout?' I post this here, although the review was for the Sioux tipi, as glamping seems an appropriate adjective for our two off the grid cabins. Following are notes sent to us by guests who spent a week at the cabin in 2014, with information about getting to the cabin if you don't have a car, and about the well: '- For anyone without a car, the bus from NYC to Saugerties is excellent, the Saugerties Stagecoach taxi was only $11 to the cabin. We brought enough food for 7 days in our backpacks, no problem. [Host’s note: If you don't bring all the food you need with you, there' a market one mile away that's shown on the topo map we send] - We drunk the well water - it was perfect. . . [Hosts' note – once in a while, we detect a slight sulfur smell in the water] Although we thought it was clear in the description, they suggested we reiterate: 1. to get to the bed one must climb a ladder, so if you are not physically fit, it would be hard. August 2016: A guest sent us a photo of a nice bass caught in the lake, which we posted on the website.. A recent inquiry asked some questions and we copy them and our reply below: 1) Is it safe there? (I mean, are there any strangers and / or any dangerous animals around?) 2) Is the lake swimmable? 3) How far is the lake from the cabin? Answers: It is safe around here. No dangerous animals. We have seen bears a few times on the property, but they are not dangerous. Lots of wildlife, we have seen over the years wild turkey, great blue heron, geese, green heron, ducks, foxes, deer; until a couple of years ago, there was a resident beaver family, the lake has sunnies and bass. You may see our enormous grass carp, nearly 3 feet, we introduced years ago to eat algae – they are vegetarian, so you can't catch it with bait. It is advisable not to leave food or anything outside that would attract bears. In addition to fishing in the lake, we often see people fishing in the nearby reservoir from the bridge [see the topo map for location]. For fishing off the property you'd need a license. Licenses can be purchased online cheaply for 1 day or 7 days. The cabin is about 75 feet from the lake, on a little hill overlooking it. Is it swimmable? The “swimmabiliy” varies with the time of year. For us it is swimmable, whenever the water is warm enough. We often use flotation devices [little inner tubes or rafts one can buy for a few dollars]. In the fall through spring, up until some time in June or so, it is clear and "lake-like." Sometime starting in June, watermeal grows. Watermeal is a plant like a tiny pin head size leaf. It floats on the surface of the water. When there’s a breeze, it blows to the edge of the lake and the surface is clear of it. If there is no wind, it spreads over the lake. Also, the water gets a greenish tint when the hot weather arrives, not algae or nasty, but more pond like - some people wouldn't choose to swim in it, we do. The lake maintains a thermocline all summer, that is, while the surface water gets warm, the deeper water, a foot or more below the surface, stays cool. Having a thermocline is one of the differences that distinguish a lake from a pond. If a body of water is not deep enough, it cannot keep the thermocline. The photo of the lake on the website was taken in June, when there was no watermeal on it. While we email a map to each guest after booking and suggest they print it out. Nevertheless we receive an occasional frantic call or text from an arriving guest saying they don’t have the map to find the cabin. So just in case, here are directions from the entrance at 375 Hommelville Road in Saugerties: Wood road goes straight in for 1000 feet, then takes a sharp left turn. Almost immediately after the turn, the road forks. Right fork leads to the Sioux Tipi. To cabin, take left fork. 50 feet beyond the first fork is a second fork, to the right is toward the cabin. In 300 feet the road ends. The lake is to your right, the solar panels and well are to the left, the cabin about 60 feet up a slight hill to the left. Finally, If you'd like to check out all of our retreats - three of them are off-the grid like this one, here's how: To view all our listings: From any of our listings, click on my photo, then, next page you come to, click my photo again. Then on that page, scroll down and click "view all listings" and you'll come to our eight retreats.
  • We had a wonderful time at the Woodland camping cabin. The cabin is located in a delightful isolated spot in the forest. It is rustic, yet very comfortable. It notably had a wide array of cooking spices and utensils. Andrew was very responsive, friendly and highly organized. The cabin is also a couple minutes away from Woodstock, which is a beautiful and lively town. We'll definitely come again!

  • My boyfriend and I had a wonderful New Years holiday at the cabin. As soon as we booked we got an email full of helpful information. The driveway to the cabin was a bit confusing as it is 3 drives put together and the cabin is the only unnumbered one, but turning around a few times was no big deal. Things to know: There is no toilet. We brought a camping toilet and it worked out fine for us. The cabin is TINY but also lovely and COZY. The heater was a powerful little thing, and thank goodness because the weather was really cold while we were there. The view from the lofted bed was MAGICAL. We took afternoon naps just so we could snuggle and look at the sunlit trees... We also got lucky with some spectacular full moons. Definitely a memorable and wonderful new years for us, just be prepared for the lack of creature comforts.

  • Very easy check in process and lovely relaxing location. I definitely reccomend taking Andrews tip to hike along the local river with the (Website hidden by Airbnb) was an incredible spot! We parked up the road and walked around the fence as suggested with no problems. Keep in mind that this is a true camping cabin. There is lots of firewood and kindling available and all the tools you will need for a campfire meal. We reccomend bringing lots of your own drinking water. Great place for a weekend away from the city and very close to the town of woodstock which made for a fun Sunday adventure on the way home. The whole area is vey dog friendly which was a great surprise- we ate at a thai place in woodstock that even had a menu for our pup!

  • Our stay in the cabin was delightful. Just the right amount of seclusion without feeling too far from civilization. Everything we needed to cook dinner over the campfire was provided. Had a great time paddling around in the canoe, chopping wood, and using the outdoor camp shower! There was a cooler provided so I only wish we had brought some ice and jugs of drinking water because it was a particularly hot weekend. There's well water on demand and a grocery store a short drive away so anything we forgot we could pick up there. Just be prepared for bugs, it is the woods after all!

  • This place is for people who appreciate the nature . If you go there please take care of it as if it's your home. Very special place. Definitely coming back

  • The "camping cabin" was the perfect home base for our weekend escape. It's cozy and private, but close to all sorts of amenities in nearby Saugerties and Woodstock, as well as great hiking. The hosts are very responsive to messages and clearly take pride in their place here. When you book, Andrew sends a bunch of information about the surrounding area (in addition to the very necessary directions on how to find the cabin), so that was a great jumping-off point for weekend activities. The cabin itself was clean, comfy, and well-stocked with all the basics for cooking and entertaining. I want to go back there already!

    Jenny2014-06-02T00:00:00Z
  • The Camping Cabin on Chloe's Lake was really sweet. From the loft bed, it felt like we were in a tree house. Andrew provided lots of information about the cabin, and plenty of recommendations for things to do in the area, which we really appreciated.

  • What a lovely cabin in the woods! It's extremely peaceful and tranquil out there. The house is on a perfect little perch, overlooking the lake. Super quiet and private. And the house itself is everything you'd need. Highly recommended.

  • Two of us stayed at the Warehouse for a HITS weekend and it was terrific! The space is unique, immaculate, cool, functional and comfortable. Location can't be beat, and the rainforest shower is a treat. Sherri and Frank are excellent hosts; available, accommodating and immediately responsive. They also left thoughtful welcoming treats. Super stay, at excellent value.

  • We love staying at the Warehouse! This is our second time there, and it was just as good the second time as it was the first. The space is clean, comfortable and well appointed. Great decor and close to everything. We plan to return!

    Jodi2018-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • Sherri's space is clean, adorable, and in the perfect location for a weekend getaway. The warehouse is loaded with charm and makes for a great place to decompress. We loved having dinner at Black Eyed Suzies, coffee at the roasting company and Alleyway Ice cream (literally across the alley). Sherri was very responsive and accommodated our same day booking- couldn't have worked out better. Thanks again!

    Kelly2018-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • The warehouse was a great spot. Perfect location, super comfy bed, cute decor, & very clean. Sherri was a great host - check in was very easy and she was very communicative. We would definitely stay here again. Ps- get some brunch at LoveBites & dinner at Miss Lucy's.

    Kerry2017-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay in a strategic location next to the Catskills. Even if we decided literally last-minute that we would stay at Sherri's place, the check-in was absolutely seamless and everything was perfect. The apartment is cosy and clean. It is located on a side street of one of the two main streets of Saugerties, really close to several shops and places to eat. We will definitely try to repeat our stay at Sherri's place in the future.

    Òscar2016-11-08T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great space! Very close to shops, dining, and not too far from the lighthouse. Sherri was a responsive host, and the pictures and description are accurate.

    Liam2018-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • Sherri and her husband have created a terrific place in a great town and could not have been more accommodating. Though I was alone, visiting my daughter at college, I love the fact that the place is so pet-friendly. My daughter came in, looked around, and pronounced the space "dope", the first time that such high praise has been awarded to anything associated with me...

    Jock2017-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • We had a last minute cancelation from a previous host the day before our trip started. I found Sherri’s place last minute and she immediately communicated with me and put my nerves at ease. After staying at her place I was much less upset about the cancelation we went through as it was worth it! Her space is in the perfect location in the cutest little town. We were able to get settled in into a warm space and walk two minutes over for an amazing dinner before calling it a night. Can’t say enough good things about her place, you just have to check it out for yourself!

Private entrance - wood floors, stuccoed walls, exposed beams, oak counter tops, cedar lined shower and tub in double vanity bath. Kitchen has all pots, pans and dining ware. All linens and towels supplied. Washer/Dryer. Accommodates 4 adults. Great skiing nearby.
This is a bright and sunny, quiet and restful space that is a short walk or 2 minute drive to the Saugerties Village wide variety of great shops and restaurants (movie theatre, too). Books, games and Sudoku puzzles are in the apartment for guest's full use. Please note that this guest space is one of a number of rental units in the barn. Free WiFi and private full bath.
Historic Saugerties Village is one of the nicest and most charming communities in the Hudson Valley with plenty of fun things to see and do. Lots of fun shops of all kinds including antique shops, art galleries, gift and dress shops and the best shoe store and hardware store around - both in business for over 100 years. Swimming in the Esopus Creek at the Saugerties beach, a walk to the lighthouse on the Hudson River or a long mountain hike in summer and snow shoeing, sledding and skiing all fun possibilities in Saugerties or nearby.
  • My three sisters and I had a wonderful stay at the apartment in the barn. Steve was there to greet us and give us all the necessary information about the apt and the town. The apt was exceptionally clean and so very very charming. All the bedding and towels were good quality. Special note must be made of the farm fresh eggs, bagels, cream cheese, butter, coffee - we truly appreciated this breakfast treat. As well as the welcome basket holding all sorts of goodies. I would not hesitate to stay again or recommend this apt to friends.

    Eileen 2016-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • Steve was very welcoming and helpful in pointing out places of interest in the area. The barn was very comfortable and we appreciated Steve's thoughtfulness in leaving us some breakfast in the fridge - we will certainly visit again!

    peggie2016-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • We were made to feel very welcome and appreciated. If Steve was not available at the moment we always had easy access to his assistant, Cathy. Steve came by to introduce himself and make sure we were comfortable. The apartment was very clean and the bedding was so comfortable. There was even a basket of extra toiletries and snacks. The two separate entrances made it easy to load and unload our car. The only drawback to our stay was the noise from the above neighbors, who would end up waking us up around 6:30/7:00 a.m. with their walking back and forth and preparing to leave for the day. Once they left, though, it was very quiet and peaceful. The first night we were there, a Monday, we also heard them talking and practicing their guitar playing. The neighborhood is very nice and we enjoyed wonderful food and sightseeing. Their are options for those who are vegan, and gluten-free. We loved our stay and would definitely come back and recommend Steve's place to our friends! Thanks for a great getaway!!

  • Wonderful place, had a great stay! Bright, cozy, comfortable and clean apartment, quiet and very close to town. Well stocked kitchen, and the breakfast items and other snacks were a really nice touch. Steve is a great host, made sure we got settled in and was very welcoming. Highly recommend!

  • We stayed in Steve's two-bedroom barn apartment for two nights in order to attend a wedding. He was so helpful and thoughtful. The apartment was cozy and well appointed! Would highly recommend!

  • Steve’s home was so beautiful and filled with thoughtful touches such as treats and a updated guide to local activities he created. He was such a great host, very communicative and understanding when we had car trouble! His barn is also conveniently located near town and close to several neighboring areas worth visiting. We hope to come back soon!

  • I had a great experience staying at Steve's 2 bedroom in the Barn. It was exactly as described and there were no unpleasant surprises. The entire Barn was extremely cute, as was the unit itself. The place was extremely clean, and Steve was one of the best hosts I've ever come across. He was extremely easy to deal with and was very pleasant. It was very clear that he cares about making the stay a good experience. Not only did he have a very well stocked welcome basket, but the fridge was filled with fresh eggs, apples, juice, and bagels for breakfast. He also brought me handmade soap that his son makes. There's plenty of visitor information for any needs. The town itself is super cute, and it truly is a great escape from the city, which was the purpose of my weekend trip. The drive was very straight forward and I would highly recommend staying at one of Steve's units. If I visit Saugerties again, I will likely book one of Steve's apartments!

    Christine2016-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Although we arrived much later than we had planned to, when we got there, Steve had waited up and kindly showed us where everything was. He answered all of our questions and made us feel at home. The apartment was roomy and the bed was very comfortable. There were so many thoughtful little touches. The stock of bagels, eggs and fresh orange juice were the perfect breakfast treat for each morning.

  • The place is clean, confortable and well located. My friend and I each had a confortable bed (the futon is almost just as nice as the bed) and plenty of space to both feel at ease. There is everything you need for a cozy weekend or longer. Steve is helpful, funny and generous!

    Elsa2017-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • The combination of location, property, and Steve's hosting touches made this stay delightful. Just outside of downtown Saugerties, the B&B-style apartment was close to plenty of dinner options and within 20 minutes of some great hikes in the Catskills. The apartment was quaint and comfortable, and we wish we'd had more time to play cards and a read a book inside. Steve greeted us and made us feel right at home; with a box of additional toiletries and fresh breakfast ingredients in the fridge, we felt very welcomed.

    Andrew2016-10-22T00:00:00Z

  • Steve's place is centered near town (walkable distance), is very cute & clean. Steve was very hospitable and accommodating. He gave us a great restaurant recommendation and left dark chocolate in the welcome basket! It was truly, a no hassle stay! Thanks again!!

  • I really enjoyed my trip to the Private Country Cottage in Saugerties, NY. The cottage is really well done. It's painted in nice, warm colors that still give a rustic feel. Central heating and air conditioning, a comfortable bed, and a really nice bathroom all help. I do wish the location were a bit more remote, and the fact that it's essentially on the same property as the owner's house is a little less romantic, but it's a small squabble. It'd be nice if there was a full sized refrigerator and the WiFi can be a little spotty. But overall had a great time. They provided complimentary fruit and coffee, and the place was absolutely spotless. The built-in chess/backgammong board was a nice touch, and the porch has a private area, too. There is a fair amount of road traffic, though. They were great hosts and I had a lovely time. Would definitely recommend.

  • This was our first experience with airbnb.com. Happy to report - the cottage and its hosts oculd not have been better! If you're reading this review, you've probably read the reviews that pre-date ours (and likely, the reviews after) - each one giving high marks to Angela, John, and their lovely cottage in Saugerties. Our only complaint would have been the weather, but that is the risk you take - traveling in February. The cottage was fully equip to suit our every need - with a bowl of fruit, trail mix, coffee, and milk in the refrigerator to boot. Saugerties is nice to stroll around, try a meal at Miss Lucy's Kitchen, checkout the light house (bring your wells!), and walk through Esopus Nature Preserve.

    Sarah2012-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • My girlfriend and I had a perfect weekend away at John and Angela's cottage. John was very helpful even before we arrived, and was there to welcome us when we did. After that, we had complete privacy which was great. The cottage is amazing. It is very spacious, clean and tidy. It was also very warm inside, which was welcome with the temperature approaching -15 outside. We were able to cook one night, and the chess board in the corner made for a great way to relax and pass the time. The little touches were the cherry on top of a great long weekend away - we arrived to a snack basket of healthy food, a fridge with milk and juices, and John even shoveled the pathway to the cottage every morning. We would go back to this place in a heartbeat.

    Andrew2015-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Angela and John’s cottage made for a nice weekend retreat. Angela was very kind and accessible while still respecting our privacy. The cottage was very clean and comfortable.

    Jordan2018-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • Our getaway from city life was actualized wonderfully in our stay here. The space was comfortable, clean, and cozy. We spent a majority of our time on the well-placed porch with scenic views of Angela and John's garden, and the forest beyond. Also thoroughly enjoyed the chess and backgammon set!

    Dovid2017-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great weekend at Angela and John's cottage. It was quiet and comfortable, and convenient to town. We loved the outdoor deck. They even left us a basket of snacks!

  • John and Angela were great hosts! Their cottage was very clean, comfortable, and tastefully decorated. We had everything we needed and more! The surroundings were quiet and peaceful, with a beautiful view from the back porch. We loved this place and would definitely book again!

    Safina2017-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • Angela and John's was everything I needed and expected. The cabin is clean, cozy, and comfortable. Angela came to greet us upon arrival and told us what she had plenty of in her garden...string beens, onion and garlic...we jumped at the offer...sure enough they were in the fridge when we returned from the store to get supplies for our stay. The following evening I made a delicious stir fry topped with fresh grated parmasean... We were given complete privacy from that point forward, which is just what we wanted. Spent some time in both Saugerties and Woodstock just walking around and checking out the shops and bars. Highly recommend.

This is an efficiency, private entrance, your own key, frig, microwave and coffee maker. This very comfortable private room with queen bed, gorgeous bath, frig and microwave is also right in the Village, steps from Krause's Chocolates and Diamond Mills. A guest remarked that it was as close to a hotel experience as you can get on airbnb; and the hotel across the street charges 5-10X as much. And, the Beach! Saugerties Village Beach is public, and has great kayaking.
Steps from all that Saugerties has to offer - restaurants, antique stores, boutiques - named one of the coolest villages in the New York Times. This lovely bedroom w/private bath is air conditioned and very convenient - bring your kayak! The Beach offers a playground and outdoor cooking. I have just had new triple glazed windows installed. There is also a new smartlock on the front door.
18 Hill St, Saugerties NY 12477. The Beach, the restaurants, First Friday, HITS! Woodstock, Rhinebeck, Stockade area in Kingston (first capital of NY State).
  • Pamela was attentive and prompt whenever I needed assistance. The room is exactly as pictured - it has wonderful light! I enjoyed the privacy of this room... even the hallway you walk through to get to it is pleasant. Bed, shower, all were really comfortable. The room is on a busy street, so there is the noise of traffic to contend with, but with all the coming and going you'll be doing with fun stuff in/near Saugerties, I don't think it will bother you much!

    Jessica2016-04-25T00:00:00Z

  • Pamela was so sweet to take us on a last minute trip. She responded within the hour and was able to take us same day. The street was quiet, plenty of space in the room and we were able to bring our dog for a small fee. Being able to also host our dog was much appreciated. Also the shower pressure was great. :)

    Alejandra2014-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Pamela was a very communicative and helpful host. She provided specific directions to gain access to the property when we first arrived and even suggested a nice restaurant in the area to check out. The room was pretty much exactly how it looked in the pictures....clean and well lit. And while there was traffic noise during the day, it died down completely by nightfall and was not an issue. My only complaint was that the bed was not made when we arrived (the sheets were laid out for us and clean....but we made it ourselves), and it would have been nice to have something more than a used bar of soap in the shower to work with.

This 7.3 acre country retreat is nestled between the Village of Saugerties and skiing! 10 minutes from HITS. There are 5 bedrooms, a nursery, studio, office, 4 full baths, and a hot tub. Relax by the fireplace! Dine in: EIK and 10-person dining room. Maximum two dogs on approval. No cats (sorry, allergies).
THANKS TO ALL OF OUR RETURN RENTERS!! We really love having you guys. Please book your visits soon, particularly for holiday periods to ensure availability. This is a lovely large house off a private road and between skiing and the Village of Saugerties - plus close to Hudson's "restaurant row" and antiquing district. There is one neighbor close by (it used to be one farm with two houses) but otherwise the acreage is very remote. It is a hilly escape from city life, with a nearby stream, a fenced in yard, a hot tub and a family of deer living in our woods.
This area between the Village of Saugerties and the ski slopes is a real country atmosphere, secluded from the main points of interest, but just 3-miles from the weekend Saugerties Farmer's Market and the popular HITS Series and all of the local attractions.
  • Maggie's home is great for large groups, especially groups with children. The house is quite comfortable and in a lovely location. The hot tub was a particular treat.

  • We have stayed at this house twice now and both times had a fabulous experience. The place is beautiful and the host responsive and helpful. My friends and I hope to rent this house every year for our annual trip to the area.

  • Maggie was a wonderful host. She answered all of my questions before our trip and gave us a handy document that included information about various things around the house. The house itself is beautiful and very large. The kitchen is a joy to cook in. Maggie provided us with clean sheets and several towels, which was very convenient. The house is about 30 minutes south of Hudson (lots of antiques) and about 30 min from Woodstock. There are many great hiking trails nearby, which we took advantage of during our stay. I will definitely stay here again!

  • This house is amazing and beautiful! I recently rented the house with 8 of my friends, and there was so much space, we couldn't even utilize the entire house! The home is extremely clean and comfortable with all the amenities that one would need. Maggie and her father, Donald, were both very helpful and caring. Maggie responded to all my questions in short time, and Donald met us at the place to make sure that we were settled in. We went up after a snowstorm, and Donald spent hours chipping away ice in the driveway for our safety. What a courtesy! I can't forget to mention that the hot tub was such a bonus, we never wanted to leave. We all had a very magical weekend, and a big thank you to Maggie and Donald for helping make that happen. I am already looking into dates to book the house again because the experience was really that awesome. If you are looking for a place big enough and cozy enough for a larger group, this is the spot for you! I have been raving about the house since I left, I have recommended it and forwarded the house profile to multiple friends, and I recommend it to you!!

  • This is a beautiful home with great grounds, especially for kids. The fenced in backyard was a good place for little ones to wander and explore, and the deck was a nice gathering place for the adults. We enjoyed being so close to the lovely Saugerties and all it has to offer, and we cooked big meals each night to enjoy together. A perfect place to gather with a group and stay put, or explore the nearby amenities.

    Melissa2014-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • Maggie's home was the most perfect spot for me and my girlfriends to enjoy a weekend away from the city. It was comfortably large yet still cozy. The kitchen was perfect for prepping all of our large meals and the hot tub was a welcome treat! We will definitely be coming back.

    Joelle2014-03-24T00:00:00Z
  • Maggie is a fantastic host, and she took every opportunity to ensure our stay was comfortable. Check-in via the lock box was easy, and the house was very clean and inviting. The space is enormous, which was great for our family vacation. The hot tub, fire pit, deck, and huge plot of land are all added bonuses. I would definitely stay here again!

  • we had an amazing time in saugerties. Esopus hideaway is in the perfection location on the creek but within walking distance of downtown and shops and restaurants. it was very relaxing. Abbie was fantastic and very communicative. she left treats for our dog! we will be back.

  • This is my 3rd time staying at Abbie’s home and it’s a peaceful house on the creek with wonderful views. The upper deck off the kitchen flows perfectly into the backyard and my dog has a blast and it’s safe since the yard is a fenced off. The Fire Pit is wonderful and Abbie is a great host.

  • This is a beautiful space to stay. It's on the shore of the creek and minutes' walk away from the Hudson River and the lighthouse. Five minutes' walk into town for coffee, groceries, wine, books. Very close to spots in the Catskills - waterfalls, trails, camping. The apartment is wonderful. Very comfortable bed, even more comfortable couch (pulls out into a second bed), two flatscreens, wonderful backyard and deck space, and this charming, steep stairway that leads you right down to the creek. The space is tastefully decorated and very clean. Even comes with books and board games. There is a full kitchen with everything you need - cookware, coffeemaker, tea, martini glasses... Cabinets with extra supplies of everything. There are two wine openers. :) We absolutely loved our stay here and will definitely be back again.

    Wei2018-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Stay here! You will have a lot of room and many drawers to put your belongings. No living out of a suitcase. It is a full size kitchen with a full size refrigerator. There is even a large locking drawer next to the bed. Enjoy your stay.

    Susan2018-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • Great host, booked the apartment the night before, she contacted me immediately making sure everything was set up when I arrived . Place was beautiful as well , especially with the view of the waterfall in the backyard

    Sean2015-11-21T00:00:00Z
  • Our family had a great experience at the Esposus Hideaway. Amazing location, close to everything, and even made it to Woodstock! We would love to make it back, and Miroslava helped us very quickly with anything we needed. Thanks!

Adorable cabin made by artist Paul Jacobsen snuggles in a queen bed and sits in the valley of a former apple orchard at Gatherwild Ranch. Not quite a tiny home, the bathrooms and kitchen are shared amenities on the property, it's a private space with just what you need. Solar lights glow inside in the evening, and the stargazing here is spectacular! Placed on 15 acres of land to roam. Pets are welcome (See below for details).
Cozy cabin is hand built and gets lots of sunlight, but is protected and has enough space for the basics. There is a small wash basin inside, drinking water, and deck chairs with a firepit outside. The queen bed has a down comforter and extra wool blankets for cool nights.
Germantown has 1 amazing market named Otto's where you can purchase all the necessities. 1 amazing restaurant named Gaskins with farm-fresh food and great cocktails. 1 liquor store & main street offering a couple of shops to peruse. 15 minutes to Hudson (all the restaurants & shopping you could desire) 15 minutes to Red Hook
  • Had a very relaxing and peaceful stay in Laura's gypsy caravan. She's a wonderful host who really wants to ensure all her guests are settling in nicely and makes it a point to really get to know each individually. You can definitely look forward to bbqs, fires and walks if you plan on staying here.

    Marc2017-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • This was such an incredible stay. We booked it to relax, do some writing, reading, and meditating. Laura was getting things up and running for the season, and we were actually the only ones staying on the ranch, so it was like having a private ranch to ourselves :) The caravan was so beautiful and cute. She decorated it so well, and you can just feel the care and love that was put into it. Cooking in the outdoor kitchen was our favorite, grilling and enjoying meals outside. Kind of like a glamping situation, but better. There was a hail storm one day, and Laura moved us to one of the yurts, which was BEAUTIFUL. Beyond being so helpful, we got to experience another space on the ranch - thank you! We'll be back, for sure. Side note - we stopped in Red Hook to buy food, where there are more options, and you can find an affordable supermarket.

    Danielle2018-05-16T00:00:00Z
  • beautiful, comfortable, a lot of fun. everyone was so pleasant and the place is really special; a great mix of comfort and adventure if you're looking to not-quite-camp. but be careful of poison ivy! i was warned but my dog then managed to track it into the bed.

    Tommy2017-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • Gatherwild Ranch and The Gypsy Caravan were incredible. Laura was very clear in her communication with us as we prepared for the trip. The grounds, attention to detail and whole experience were quite magical. It's a little paradise that feels both communal and very private with each dwelling having it's own little orchard section. We will be back. Thanks for creating a spot where we can feel like we're celebrating nature and not disturbing it!

    Donnell2017-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • The caravan was adorable and the property is beautiful. Laura was very communicative and available. It was such a treat to cook in an outdoor kitchen and take a solar shower. The bed in the caravan was very comfortable, but the mosquitos really came after us and it would be great if a mosquito net was installed.

    Daniel2017-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Laura's property is amazing and peaceful. Staying in the tiny cabin was so incredible....a true connection with nature and surroundings. Laura welcomed me upon arrival and shared great tips about things to do and see in the area. I can't wait to visit again!

    Erik2017-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • The Gypsy Caravan is an amazing way to spend a night. I only wish I had booked it for a few more! It was super clean and perfect. If it's chilly, there's a small wood stove that burns longer if you partially block the air intake with a few stones (I left a few on the stove). The ocean of stars that came on like a radio later in the evening were spectacular. Looking forward to a return visit!

    Tom2017-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • This is a fantastic spot! We slept in the "Gyspy Caravan," which is a tiny cabin with a luxurious bed and bedding, a small wood stove, and a tiny deck for sitting out at night and listening to crickets and tree frogs. The outdoor kitchen is well equipped, and the outdoor shower is a wonderful treat. I enjoyed getting to chat with other guests and very much appreciated the hosts' hospitality.

  • Awesome spot!! Cute, cozy, and comfortable- this was my second time staying with DeAne and I’ll definitely be back!

    Heidi2018-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was awesome! The room was super quirky and perfect for two people. DeAne was super helpful, accommodating, and overall a sweet person- would love to come back and stay again on my next visit to Woodstock!

    Mallory2018-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • When I first saw it on the Airbnb I honestly thought the owner made a mistake. There is no way one can get this place for $35 a night. And I was right when I got there I saw how amazing the place was. Cute cozy super clean and above all an amazing host. The composting toilet actually flushes and there is absolutely no smell. DeAne put all the thought in stocking up with everything one might need. She was kind enough to wait for me in the cold when I could not locate the place because of bad cell signal. She even let me use the bathroom Way Beyond her sleep time. Go ahead and grab this place before DeAne realizes that this place is worth way more

    Sorov2018-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay with DeAne and we’re looking forward to the next stay. Her attention to detail and small touches contributed to a quiet and comfortable stay.

    Rose2018-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • DeAne was awesome! I will come and stay with her again! She is welcoming and very friendly. Feels just like your at home. The suite had everything we needed and was warm and cozy. DeAne let me come in at the crack of dawn to use her shower in her house. Nothing better then a hot shower to wake you up:)

    Kaytea2018-04-11T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome place very private and cool, will definitely be coming back in the future!

    Baron2017-11-20T00:00:00Z
  • De Ane was incredibly friendly and helpful with places to go and eat. She obviously is in love with the area. Her apartment is very reasonable for the price and is perfectly placed midway between Woodstock and Saugerties. We did not have the best night's sleep because the bed sags in the middle and there was intermittent traffic noise from the main road. But if you are looking for a cheap place to stay in a beautiful area, then this could be the place for you.

    Jo2018-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • Great hospitality with a unique and cozy space. DeAne was a great host, communication was great throughout the stay, the sofa bed was comfy and it was a great experience overall. Thanks DeAne

  • My husband and I stayed here over the weekend and had such a great experience from start to finish - Rae was super fast in responding to all of our questions pre-booking and put us in touch with a friend to make sure we had everything we needed since she would be out of town. The loft is very cool - perfect location and walkable to everything in the Historic Village of Saugerties. We especially loved the record album/collection and hope to stay again in the warmer months to take advantage of the roof deck! Rae also surprised us with treats from her shop, Lucky Chocolates which were delish! Thanks again for everything!

    Christine2015-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at Rae's place! The loft was beautiful, open, and airy. Our family had the best time in Saugerties - the little shops and restaurants were great. We loved walking around and relaxing in the town. Highly recommend!! The chocolates Rae left for us were delicious!!

    Serafina2016-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • Rae was a great host - key pickup and drop off was easy and the apartment is a great space. We had a wonderful relaxing weekend.

    Alex2014-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at Rae's place. The loft is spacious, comfortable, and beautiful. It was exactly as described and Rae was very friendly and responsive to all our needs and questions. Also, the apartment is located right in the middle of town, within walking distance to most restaurants and stores, and a nice walk to the lighthouse. We would love to be back soon!

    Alexandra2015-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • Our host had all necessary notes and instructions out on the table with a box of chocolates from the Lucky Chocolate Shop just below the unit. Access to the unit on the first evening was very straightforward and simple. The unit was well appointed with linens, kitchen utensils, a record player and actual records, which we absolutely enjoyed!

    Julie2015-11-29T00:00:00Z
  • Rae's loft is superb. Very spacious, well laid out, unbeatable location, vibrant, comfortable, and all amenities for a perfect weekend (or longer) stay in Saugerties. Comfortable bed with nice bedding. Spacious, clean bathroom with good water pressure/hot water. Fabulous relaxing roof deck basically doubles the living space. Perfect combination of well appointed but still fun and cozy. Rae is extremely responsive and accommodating. I have stayed in this loft many times, and will stay again. Highly recommend. Also, do not miss Lucky's chocolates downstairs and around the corner.

    Sheila2017-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Rae'e place is amazing! The loft is spacious, well designed, well equipped, private and at the same time, right in the center of town. Its a great place to hole up and spend some time away from the city. The crowning jewel was the beautiful outdoor deck.... complete with barbecue and even a grass patch for the dog ;) We loved staying here and would like to rent this place regularly to get away. I imagine the deck would only get better as the seasons get warmer! The host was incredibly kind, even left an *phenomenal* box of chocolates from the store downstairs as a welcome. Overall, couldn't have been a better experience.

    Tanya2017-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We loved everything about Rae's fantastic loft apartment and were sorry we only had a night here -could of happily stayed for a week! Thanks Rae!

WOODSTOCK DESIGN WATERFRONT HOUSE This newly remodeled private waterfront cottage is just 3 minutes from the center of Saugerties, NY and 15 minutes from Woodstock, NY. Enjoy the best of both towns: specialty shops and boutiques, delectable food, farmers markets, live music and glorious scenery. The 2-bedroom, 1-bath cottage is a spacious, serene and comfortably elegant retreat. It’s ingeniously tailored for a romantic getaway, a family gathering, or for two friends on a shopping-fishing-antiquing-hiking or whatever you- cook-up weekend. It's roomy enough for a crowd, yet still cozy and private enough for a revitalizing artist or writer’s retreat. No need to sacrifice urban elegance for country charm, because here you truly have both. The house is an authentic 1930’s cottage, now airily restyled and open, with the sophistication of a luxed-out loft. It was the beloved childhood family cottage of former L.A. stylist Daisy Bolle, current owner of Hudson Valley fashion mecca DIG, and Daisy’s smashing taste is reflected in every detail of this beautiful remodel. The house still belongs to her parents, Mike and Robin Kramer, longtime owners of the two hottest clothing stores in Woodstock: Woodstock Trading Post and Woodstock Design. Luxury and cozy comfort are in this family’s DNA. Each room has been thoughtfully designed and decorated to invite the outdoors in, surrounding you with resort- style comfort. Enormous windows and French doors to the stunning deck provide an all-day display of the renowned ever-changing Hudson Valley light. Keep them open to savor evening breezes and glowing sunsets, and then light a cozy fire in the living room fireplace, which you can also see from the bedroom. This rare property includes direct access to the Esopus Creek, famous for summer and winter sports. Take a dip or launch a kayak from your private dock, onto the smooth glide of the creek. Once there, let the world slip by as your stress slides away. Take a photo safari up this Hudson Valley Nile, capturing shots of nesting egrets, cranes and swans. Nature provides a daily surprise in this sought-after Hudson Valley setting, known for its mountains, woods, and meandering rivers. Poets and painters will find enough inspiration to last the rest of the year. You might even nab a prime trophy bass. The gentle lapping of the creek will serenade evening star–gazing and cocktails on the deck, or a night of barbeque and games with the kids. Linger over lattes and the morning papers while you plan the day’s adventures. You may just decide relaxing on the deck is all the adventure you need. When it’s time for sleep, sink into sumptuous king-sized beds in both bedrooms. One of the two couches in the living room also folds out into a queen mattress. Linens are provided for you, including silk-like soft Beechwood sheets, down blankets and pillows, and fluffy bath sheet- sized towels laundered with Seventh Generation unscented detergent. The bath features radiant-heat floors, iridescent artisan tiles, heated towel racks and a floating vanity. The pantry is stocked with gourmet basics like organic coffee, tea, honey and oatmeal, and the fridge holds choice mustards, bbq sauce and other surprises. Whether you’re a seasoned cook or just want to whip up some smoothies, the kitchen — with its gleaming industrial chic appliances and a five-burner gas stove with convection oven — will satisfy your appetite for customized, supreme efficiency. You’ll be cozily secluded, tucked onto a quiet lane in Saugerties, recently named by Frommer’s as one of America's 10 Coolest Small Towns. Saugerties — hilly and rich with hidden treasures like upscale breakfast joints, antique shops, places to enjoy micro brews or perfect cappuccinos, is a funky blend of historic Catskill charm and local artistic flair. • Having breakfast fixings. Beautiful location on a safe, quiet street. Comfortable beds. Wonderful view

    Blair2016-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • Place was great nice and clean and great location

    tom2016-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at Steve's place! Being right on the river was so nice, the beds are super comfortable and the kitchen was great for cooking in. You're also close enough to town (and other great Catskills towns) to do some exploring or pick up supplies. The house was bright and cosy for the winter, but we'd also like to go back during the summer and take advantage of the river-front deck.

    Catherine2017-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Great setting and deck! The open floor plan of the house allows you to enjoy a great view of the creek and wooded backdrop.

    Katherine2017-04-13T00:00:00Z
  • This house is modern and bright, a lovely artfully designed house on the water. And the large deck was an pleasantly unexpected extension of the house. This made the perfect excursion from the city, and Steve was fast and clear in his communication. We would certainly return. Definitely recommended!

    Liz2018-04-06T00:00:00Z
  • House was beautiful. We loved it. Best part of each morning was floating in the creek on our rafts, and best part of each night was coming home and sitting on the deck by the light of the moon and stars. Enough towels and supplies, and the whole experience was seamless. Thanks Steve!

    Marnie2016-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • We've stayed at Steve's place twice now. Great host and great location. Perfect house for long weekend getaway!

    Prashant2017-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • What amazing place! Very open, comfortable with a great modern-artsy design! All the appliances are new and the kitchen is fully stocked with tons of great cooking utensils, plates, pots, etc... The beds are super comfortable and having TVs in the bedrooms is an added bonus! Everything was very clean! We spent a majority of our time on the deck - right on the waster! Such an amazing view. The deck was also fully fenced in, which was another bonus, because we were able to enjoy sitting outside and let our dog off the leash without any worries. The town itself is very close and is also super-cute, with lots of restaurants, shopping and great antique stores. The host Steve, is reachable and responds to texts and air bnb messages very quickly. I definitely plan on coming back and would highly recommend to anyone!!

  • Once again we had a wonderful stay with Jay and Laura. It's wonderful having a familiar place to come and stay now away from home. They even added a beautiful antique table and chair to the room which was a wonderful addition to sit reflectively in the morning and watch the squirrels play on the trees outside. They also have a second room now as well which is just as lovely as the first! We'll definitely be back;) thanks guys!

  • Unique Location, close to cute town, hosts were friendly and hospitable, private room was pleasant, bathroom was beautiful, host was considerate, continental breakfast was included, pet friendly. Online description was accurate

    Hellen2014-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first air bnb experience and it was awesome! Laura and Jay were super cool and even watched our dog while we went to dinner. Our dog loved the fenced in backyard and all the space for him to play. Will definitely be back!

    Tiffany2016-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • This AirB&B experience was the best! First of all, the house is lovely - much prettier than it looks in the picture. Laura and Jay gave us this huge bedroom next to a huge bathroom on the second floor. We also had full access to the first floor living room and the dining room, where our breakfast foods were set out every morning. They put out all sorts of treats for us, from fruit and yoghurt to several bottles of wine. This is way more than I expect from an AirB&B where the breakfast part is usually omitted. Laura and Jay, themselves, are delightful - friendly and helpful. We picked this place because they allowed us to bring our dog, but really, it was as nice as one could wish. It's also right in town, so we could walk to restaurants and shops. Saugerties is a lovely village and we hope to revisit Laura, Jay, and their two dogs and cats.

    Stephanie2015-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great weekend staying in Laura's house in Saugerties. The space in the house is large, private and comfortable. The room is spacious and is accompanied by an excellent VHS collection. The location is great for exploring Saugerties by foot. We ended up not moving our car all weekend. We definitely recommend staying here.

    John2016-04-25T00:00:00Z
  • Laura's place was uniquely beautiful and felt luxurious, especially after several days on the road in boring roadside motels. We spent our time just lounging (great bathtub!), sleeping in late (phenomenal beds!) and loved walking around the sweet village. We hope to return very very soon.

    Ria2017-03-27T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay! Beautiful home. Thank you for hosting us!

    Regina2017-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • This was my second time staying at this home. It was a great experience, as was the last visit. Communication with owner, prompt and clear. We did not meet in person this time, but the key, instructions and tips and recommendation for where to eat, what to do, all neatly laid out. the home incredibly clean, quiet, private. Bed super comfy. My husband and I are architectural geeks and loved the older home, truly beautiful. Appreciated the simple breakfast laid out-- tea options, coffee, cereal, fruit, milk and yogurt in fridge. We were only in Saugerties for one night, but had a lovely stay, Thank you Laura.

Spacious but cozy warm chic apartment just steps away from the village restaurants, shops & bars. You will hear all the wonderful sounds of Village life! Light filled, large fully stocked kitchen, pullout sofa, private parking, glass standup shower, enclosed porch (under renovation)
Fun romantic decor, roomy but cozy the perfect space to come back to after a day of exploring the Hudson Valley
Literally steps away from the village full of shops, spas, restaurants & bars! First Fridays are a must, Farmers Market on Saturdays May-Nov, Saugerties Lighthouse, kayaking on the Esopus Creek and bicycle route around village. HITS Horse Show
  • Space is newly renovated, sleeps 4 comfortably, very clean, all necessary appliances, and the host is sweet/accessible, being that she is from the neighborhood and has a local jewelry shop below the space! The only downsides would be the wifi signal not being the greatest, and not being able to control the heat from the apartment. Overall I recommend this space and the town because the food is amazing and it's about a 30 minute drive to Hunter Mountain.

    Devon2016-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • The Flat is central, comfy, and cute. We could walk anywhere in town, and also just minutes away from some great local walks (Esopus Creek, lighthouse, falling waters, river). We enjoyed some wine and apps at the Diamond Mill Tavern while overlooking town waterfall and bridge. Would visit Sherri's place again to try the many nearby restaurants and walks.

  • Sherri was very communicative and helpful throughout our entire stay. Her flat is GORGEOUS and very cozy and welcoming. I thoroughly recommend staying at Sherri's if you are in the area - you won't be disappointed!

  • My girlfriend and I stayed for a weekend get-a-way, and found Sherri's place to be inviting, cozy and very clean. The bed was very comfortable, which made for a good night's rest. Also, the shower head's water pressure was amazing!

    Christopher2018-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • This loft is the perfect place for a weekend getaway. Great location with lots of shops and restaurants, and a quick drive to the nearby town of Woodstock for a change of scenery. The host was incredibly helpful and accommodating and her spot is just perfect! very clean and spacious. We will definitely come again and stay at Sherris loft.

Private and luxurious bell tent in a beautiful outdoor setting with a cedar deck and firepit, queen bed and linens. Located 1 mile from the Hudson river, nestled in rural farmland, enjoy sunsets, river walks, Gaskins restaurant, Bard college and cultural center, Buddhist meditation center and Otto's General store. Good for couples, solo adventurers, families (with kids) and big groups. Message for additional accommodations. Pets welcome (See below for details).
This yurt style tent is a minimal and luxurious way to enjoy nature. It features a queen size bed, and has a private deck and stoop for lounging. It includes a washing basin inside and private firepit outside and faces east for great sunrises. Solar lights glow inside in the evening, and the stargazing here is spectacular! Please know that there is no electricity, and we feature outdoor amenities - composting toilets and solar shower, with a backup indoor shower. Outdoor kitchen and charcoal grill are all shared spaces. Placed on 15 acres of a former apple orchard.
  • The ranch provides a pretty unique experience. The yurt is spacious and very comfortable. The compost bathroom is very clean. The solar shower works well. We stayed for two nights, and Laura was very helpful answering all of our questions. We asked about restaurants nearby, and she suggested Gaskins, in Germantown, which was amazing. We also explored Hudson, a super cute town. Our favorite part was hanging out around the fire and looking at the amazing sky at night. We were able to see Jupiter, the Moon, the Milky Way. It is a great spot to star gaze.

    María Jimena2017-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • The yurts are extremely tidy and comfortable. Seeing the vast amount of stars at night and waking up to the sunrise in the morning are two experiences that I’ll never forget! Would highly recommend Laura’s place for anybody that loves nature!

    Steven2018-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • We had an awesome stay with Laura at her yurt! The property is picturesque, the tent is really cozy, and she was an excellent host. We felt like we were really escaping the city, which was exactly what we wanted, but you're also really close to Germantown and the delicious restaurant, Gaskins, and the lovely coffee/breakfast spot/store, Otto's. She offered bikes, checked in to make sure we had everything we needed, and hung out around the fire with us one evening. Dog friendly, too, which was awesome. We'll definitely be back! Thanks for everything, Laura.

  • A wonderful cozy stay! Space was clean, quiet and intimate for the two of us

    Emily2017-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • Laura was a fantastic host! The tent was charming and we had a wonderful trip. Will definitely be back again soon!

    Scotlyn2016-11-13T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay here! It was so beautiful and peaceful - situated on an old apple orchard. Laura was so helpful with the check in process, giving me all the information beforehand, including a cute little illustrated map of the property. The yurt itself was beyond what I expected - it was beautifully decorated, and Laura even put out a vase of fresh cut flowers by our bedside. The yurt was powered by solar lights at night, which in additional to a few candles in the yurt, created the most relaxing and cozy ambiance. We didn't bring food to cook since we were only staying one night, but there is a great outdoor kitchen and fire pit/oven for anyone staying with a group or maybe staying a little longer. There were also a flock of sheep from Laura's neighbor roaming the field across from our yurt which was so fun to have! Would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a "glamping" experience or just a peaceful/quiet getaway!

Charming newly furnished 1 bedroom apartment with King size bed, completely equipped full kitchen and private terrace. Private entrance, stuccoed walls, exposed beams, oak counter tops, ceder lined shower and big deep tub. All linens and towels supplied. Washer/Dryer. Walking (a bit strenuous) distance to Village shops and restaurants. Breakfast is English muffins, bagels, local farm eggs, apples, orange juice, coffee. Oatmeal too. Quiet and restful space with great skiing nearby.
This guest space was created with guest comfort foremost in mind. The bed is a comfortable and roomy king. All appliances in fully equipped kitchen are new. This along with comfy living room and private terrace will make you wish you had booked more days. At least that's what many of our guests say about their stay with us. We are a short but slightly strenuous walk to Saugerties Village shops and restaurant and to the Esopus Creek and Marinas.
We have great restaurants and shops, hiking, swimming, a great book store and movie theater - all nearby. The Esopus Creek and Hudson river are nearby.
  • It was a dream to stay here while traveling for work. Super clean, easy check-in, helpful specific tips of what to do, quiet, and eggs in the fridge. I will definitely stay here again loved the unique history and hospitality.

  • I'm a repeat customer! I love Steve's listings and this cozy one-bedroom is my favorite. It is cute and comfy; it has everything you need; and it is in a great location for exploring Saugerties and the surrounding countryside. I will definitely be back!

    Emily2017-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • We were impressed by the immaculate cleanliness at Steve's. Wanted for nothing as he provided some breakfast foods, snacks, and toiletries. Anyone interested in a longer stay who also likes to cook should take notice that there's a full kitchen with any and all implements you'd need to cook a full meal! Very comfortable bed and quiet; we had a great time!

  • 4 star accommodations and a very thoughtful host.

    Joseph2018-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment was everything promised, and a bit more. Very cozy and comfortable. Jen was very friendly and helpful at check-in, and Steve came by a little while later to introduce himself and check that everything was OK. This was our first Airbnb stay in an apartment, and it was really nice to have everything we needed to make breakfast (good eggs!). Saugerties is a nice town with some very good restaurants and access to many sites in the beautiful Hudson River Valley. One note if you're mobility-challenged: the apartment is accessed by steps, and the tub has very high sides.

    Joel2017-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Steve is a very generous and welcoming host with some great stories about the history of the place and good tips for local spots. Our stay was short but it really felt like home. We loved the space!

    Bethany2018-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • We loved the full kitchen and comfortable bed. Steve has stocked the fridge with a few breakfast items to make the morning routine easy within the unit. The king size bed has a quality that offers both comfort and support (not too soft, not to firm). We slept well, despite the newness of the bed (to us). We can imagine making this the location of a weekend retreat, a quiet getaway from the busy-ness of life.

    James P2018-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • Steve's place is really wonderful. It's cozy and comfortable and he makes you feel welcome right away. Very clean, classy decor, and he provides you with breakfast supplies and reliable wifi. All in a unique building that he built himself! We enjoyed our stay very much and will stay here again when we return to Saugerties.

  • It was amazing stay. We enjoyed every single space !! We had a big enough private out side space with bell tent to chill out and see the beautiful sky at night ! It was like a planetarium . Our house is a charming renovated 1850s farm style house in the lovely and peaceful hamlet of Malden-on-Hudson. Malden is just 2 miles outside of Saugerties. We offer our quests a private entrance with the use of the downstairs living room and dining room and upstairs bedrooms and bathroom (2 of the bedrooms have queen size beds.) We have set up a continental breakfast area in the dining room offering freshly brewed coffee and tea, but do not offer use of the kitchen.

It's in a good location, very close to Saugerties, which is a cute town with lots of antique shops and the like. An easy drive to Hunter mountain and lots of hiking around. B & B were great communicators, really friendly and helpful, and we also had plenty of privacy while we were there. We are excited to come back! Thank you!

A cozy getaway upstate, close to Woodstock, Saugerties Central, and the Catskill Mountains. It's an open layout with pine tongue and groove walls, cathedral ceilings, Italian tile, wall to wall carpeting. There's a view to the back horse field and pond area and a newly renovated deck area off the kitchen. We also have a picnic area w/a charcoal and propane barbecue for guest use, as well as, access to the pond area to sit and relax...& check out the ducks and wildlife.
The space is cozy with a mix of finishes. A bit of rustic and a bit of classic. We have snacks and basics for meal preparation. Breakfast stuff such as eggs, muffins, oatmeal. Plenty of dishes and cookware for your use.
There are plenty of nice restaurants right in town, from bar food to fine dining.
  • The pictures are exactly what you get. A clean, rustic and comfortable stay. Rachel was a wonderful host. It was the perfect getaway :-)

    Randy2017-04-30T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay in Saugerties and Rachel was a great host. Finding the place and checking in went very smoothly. Rachel even left fresh baked muffins outside of our door almost every morning. We had great time watching the ducks swim around on the pond outside while we drank our morning coffee. It was a very relaxing stay!

    Brian2015-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Staying on Rachel and Rich's family farm in Saugarties was a truly pleasant and unforgettable experience. My boyfriend and I wanted a relaxing getaway within reasonable distance from the city- what we got was so much more. Staying in Saugarties was an opportunity to explore New York's wonders and live on a farm and feel like a local. The apartment was clean, comfortable, and convenient distance to hiking trails, delicious restaurants, and antique stores. Highly, highly recommend!

    Isabel2016-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • Rachel was a lovely and gracious host to me and my boyfriend. The place was very adorable and cozy. We loved the morning goodies left by our door. There is also a lovely view of the horse out back as well as the ducks hanging out by their pond. Very enjoyable and comfortable stay!

    Teuta2017-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay! The space was large and welcoming - looks just like the pictures. The sheets were also so so so so soft which made for a very comfortable and restful sleep. The airbnb is within close driving distance to Woodstock and Saugerties. The Garden Cafe in woodstock was so good we came back two days in a row. Bread Alone Bakery was also great for sandwiches. A trip out to the Saugerties lighthouse is a must. The Big Deep swimming hole near Woodstock was also very nice. Rachel and Rich were very kind and helpful. Freshly baked scones in the morning with homemade maple butter were delicious and the perfect start to our day. We had thought that the farm was a bit larger, that there was more to explore on the farmland and that it was a bit more secluded. After looking at the listing again it's clear that this was just our imagination filling in the blanks! :) But the pond was still really lovely with all the cute ducks and it was nice to see the horses. Thank you for a wonderful stay!!

    Doreen & Sebastian2016-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • Rachel was a wonderful host. She is sweet, attentive, and easy to reach. The studio is just as pictured with beautiful wood paneling (and huge). Rachel has the kitchen generously stocked - I ate breakfast (and lunch) every day there with what she provided. And to top it off she left me fresh baked goodies in the morning! Looking forward to coming back.

    Jean2016-01-09T00:00:00Z
  • Rachel's place was lovely - centrally located for visiting the many wonderful parts of the Hudson Valley. Near great walks at Kaaterskill Falls. The studio is spacious; furnishings excellent. Everything was totally spotless and neatly organized. An unusually thoughtful provision of everything for cooking -- and a wondrous array of breakfast and snacks were meticulously presented. She also placed early-morning freshly baked goodies from her kitchen outside our door - a real treat. Loved the tranquility -- the availability of the pond and its denizens - ducks, frogs, and the other animals. Lovely kind hosts. You'll love it.

    Ronald L2017-06-09T00:00:00Z
  • The studio was beautiful and clean. I had planned the trip as a birthday gift for my girlfriend and we were pleasantly surprised to find a birthday cake waiting for us upon arrival! Rachel also brought us fresh blueberry muffins one morning and she was very responsive anytime we reached out to her. It is about a ten minute drive to Main St. in Saugerties and took us about two hours to get there from NYC without any traffic.

We are close to HITS, Hunter Mtn and all of the wonderful activities of the Hudson Valley. This is a very peaceful cabin, steps from the stream. Wake up to the sights and sounds of the rushing water. We are perfect for single guests or couples. It can accommodate a maximum of two people. The cabin is private and set in the woods, yet steps away from the pool, sauna, screen house.
The space is cozy. The bed is full-sized, so may not be suitable for larger guests. It can definitely ONLY accommodate two persons - two adults or one adult and a child.
We are very close to Woodstock, Saugerties, HITS, Hunter Mtn. All activities in the Hudson Valley are only minutes away.
  • My boyfriend and I enjoyed a lovely weekend at Rich and Sheila's quaint cabin by the stream! From the moment we booked to the time we got there, Rich was very communicative and helpful, providing directions, suggestions on local events and things to do and more. They were very accommodating of our travel plans, allowing to check in late on a Friday evening. The place itself is small but very cozy for two people, and the special touches such as granola and wine were very much appreciated! We had a lovely stay in Saugerties, and we will surely be back!

    Emma2016-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • Rich and Sheila were superb hosts and the Lovely Cabin by the Stream was totally charming. There were fresh flowers on the table, milk and delicious granola, and even a bottle of wine waiting for us. The bed is comfortable, the towels fluffy, and we were quite at home. The location is perfect-close to all of the touristy things you might want to do, and they have provided a great list for guests of places to go and restaurants to check out. Although we did venture out, all we wanted to do was grill near the stream, read, take naps, and swim in their nice pool! We will definitely be back.

    Molly2016-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • Rich and Sheila really are amazing hosts, welcoming, helpful and respectful. The combination of air con, quiet ceiling fan and super comfortable bed made for better sleeping than any fancy hotel I have been to! The gentle sound of the stream passing by doesn't hurt either. The location really is perfect, close enough to amenities and the lovely village of Woodstock but with ample opportunity to explore the beautiful countryside on your door step. 6 stars!

    Josef2016-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Rich and Sheila were wonderful hosts! They were very welcoming from the minute we got there and provided information on great local places to visit and dine at. The cabin was cozy and quiet. My girlfriend and I got to relax and enjoy the cabin, stream and the pool. We would definitely stay again when visiting the area!

    Netanya2018-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the small cabin at Creekside. The bed was comfortable, we used the tiny kitchen quite a bit and it satisfied all of our cooking needs. The layout of the house is convenient. It's small but didn't feel cramped at all for two adults. Rich was helpful and accommodating. It wasn't quite as secluded as I expected- there are lodgings for other Creekside guest next to the main house.

    Meredith2017-09-04T00:00:00Z

  • Adorable house. Great hostess. Would stay again. Perfect location to walk to dinner and be minutes away from HITS.

  • We booked Rachel's & Eric's beautiful home for a girl's weekend and it was perfect! We loved the style and the decor, which was not only well done but it provided everything we needed for our weekend. Rachel and Eric were also quick to respond before our trip and provided wonderful recommendations in the area, which we used and loved! The description of the home and the location are all very accurate and we would definitely re-book if we were to find ourselves in Saugerties again!

    Sahar2017-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Rachel's! The house is so bright, warm and charming - and the location is perfect - right in the center of town and walking distance to great restaurants and cute shops. A perfect weekend getaway!

    Avi2017-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • The Saugerties House was the absolute perfect spot for a girls weekend away from NYC. It was peaceful, clean, beautifully and thoughtfully decorated, and right downtown. We had no issues checking in or out, and Rachel and Eric were gracious, responsive hosts. Will definitely be coming back.

    Abby2018-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • This is my second time staying at The Saugerties House. It is adorable, convenient from a location perspective, has everything you need, and the hosts are wonderful. Thank you for a great stay!

    Melissa2017-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • Great find! Close to town so you can walk to dinner or go shopping. I highly recommend this charming home.

    Ashley2017-04-09T00:00:00Z
  • Rachel was very clear and communicative making the whole process very easy. The house is 30 feet from the best restaurants in Saugerties and was an easy and safe walk home if you get drinks! We were a group of 6 friends and loved hanging out on the patio and the decor was very nice. Will stay again!

Come enjoy our beautiful, comfortable vacation home in a historic building (c 1900) in amazing downtown Saugerties, New York. The spacious and bright studio apartment is located on Main Street literally seconds from fantastic shops, restaurants and galleries. In the summer months enjoy a private patio and shared garden. Double bed is great for a couple and the daybed in the living room is set up to make a comfy kids bed.
  • Ciera is a wonderful host! The apartment is trendy, quaint, and spotless. She communicated with me through out my stay to make sure we had everything we needed. Highly recommend.

    Laura2018-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • I highly recommend Ciera's place, we really enjoyed our stay. The apartment is renovated from floor to ceiling so everything is nice and new. The decor is also tastefully done. The location of the place is right in the town center walking distance to shops and restaurants. Ciera provided a detailed guide on how to check in and where to park. The only complaint is the walls are thin and you can hear the neighbors walking around upstairs, which we heard on our first morning there.

    Mark2018-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • Great Space, great neighborhood. Right downtown so walking distance of everything.

    Ricky2018-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • I had enjoyed my time staying at Ciera’s place. Not only her place is spacious and tidy but stylish. The location was perfect as I was able to find cute restaurants and antique shops! It’s also close to other cute towns which I got to visit like Woodstock, Hudson, and Kingston. Ciera was quick at responding to my emails and helpful w every inquiry I had. My only issue was the noise upstairs, the floor was paper thin that I heard every footstep late at night. My recommendation is to bring a sound machine to block off the noise. Despite that I’d recommend Ciera’s place! Thanks Ciera!!

    Angeli2018-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • We loved the way Ciera has transformed the garden, and the studio apartment was very comfortable and beautifully designed! So much fun to be in the heart of town but also in a little oasis. Thanks!

A 600 square foot getaway! Rustic, simple, quiet, serene cottage that's only one mile from town! Close to all; a movie theatre, breweries, antique stores, boutique stores, bookstores, fine eateries, a grocery store, hiking, a lighthouse, NY-87, Kingston, Woodstock, and all the beauty of the Hudson Valley awaits! Cottage is located on a dead end road in a quiet and charming neighborhood. Only one mile from the ever expanding and changing downtown of Saugerties. Access to the Esopus Creek.
1920's cottage with hard wood floors. Enclosed in porch to relax and and take in the view. One bedroom, with a Queen size bed. A pull out couch too. Open kitchen space, books, games, and dresser for storage. No TV- a place to getaway and check in as you check out.
The best street in Saugerties! A dead end street that even locals don't know about. Great neighbors up and down the street. Quiet, safe, and beautiful houses on both sides of the street.
  • Kent’s cottage is exactly as described. It is in a very quiet area. It has WiFi available. It is an old cottage, so should be expected. I really enjoyed my stay. If you are a busy bodied person, the town is quite the attraction, and is just over a mile away. Great area to walk and listen to the birds and enjoy nature.

    Bryan2018-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great cottage for a getaway exploring the Hudson Valley. Located in a quiet neighborhood with easy access to the surrounding mountains and towns this was the perfect place to unwind for a few days. The kitchen was well stocked with the basics, but we had some problems getting the wifi information from Kent, and the bathroom can be temperamental. Overall I would recommend this place for a somewhere to disconnect.

    Thomas2018-06-26T00:00:00Z
  • Kent was easy to communicate with and made check in/out super simple.

  • My husband and I just got back from our weekend at Y&B's loft, and I can't say enough about how adorable and perfectly located it is. The loft is super cozy, clean and welcoming. Just 10 minutes from Woodstock, we were able to explore Woodstock and Saugerties with ease. In addition, Y&B were happy to answer any questions we had and gave us several great restaurant suggestions. From the wood burning fireplace and comfy loft to the adorable kitchen and netflix, our stay here provided us with the little dose of R&R we were looking for. I am sure we will be back, and I highly recommend to anyone looking to get away for the weekend. Thanks Y&B.

  • I booked this charming little cottage as a last minute getaway for my boyfriend's birthday and it was lovely. Very thoughtfully decorated with nice details. Great tub too. The cottage itself stands closely to other cottages, but once inside we were in our your own little world. The loft bed did get hot, but we ended up enjoying the comfy couch downstairs. They did mention they would get more fans or A/C as the summer warms up, which will be a welcome addition! All in all, super clean and a great place to stay. Brendan was also very helpful and responsive to any questions and requests we had. Much appreciated, especially with such short notice!

    Iris2015-05-10T00:00:00Z
  • 'Coziness' doesn't do this cabin justice. The space is maximized: a spacious den with a comfy couch and tv, a kitchen with anything you could possibly need, and a wonderful lofted bedroom. Everything is clean, cute, and comfortable. Y and B are great hosts, quick to reply when we had questions. It was the perfect weekend getaway we had hoped for! Highly recommended!

    Rian 2015-12-21T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at Band Camp. The little cottage is neat as a pin and beautifully decorated with unique vintage finds, the owners have a real eye. The location is great, close to both the centres of Woodstock and Saugerties, it was a great home base for exploring the Hudson River Valley. We hope to return someday soon!

    Adrienne2014-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • This charming cabin in Saugerties was perfect for a romantic weekend getaway. Beautifully decorated cabin in a secluded area, but still close to towns and activities along the Hudson. Super comfortable bed, fully equipped kitchen, and a relaxing living room was all we needed. We even got to use the wood stove, which was perfect for an October night.

    Jon & Stef2014-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • My weekend away at this Woodstock-Saugerties cabin was absolutely perfect. The house was just as described on the website, quaint, cozy, and warm. My boyfriend and I live and work in the city so we were looking for a weekend of peace and quiet and this couldn't have been better. The house was stocked with anything we needed and the surrounding towns were so close and fun to explore. We will definitely be returning to the area. The hosts were not around but they were readily available via phone and checked in a few times over the weekend. We honestly couldn't have asked for more.

    Jessica2015-01-11T00:00:00Z
  • My family and I LOVED staying at Y & B's cabin in Saugerties. The space was spotless, decorated beautifully and every detail was considered - from a welcoming note waiting for us upon arrival to fresh linens and fire starters for the wood burning stove. The kitchen provided everything we needed to make full meals - and there was a coffee maker, coffee and sugar for us to start off our mornings. The WiFi was very reliable and the flat screen TV and Roku made it easy for us to watch the latest movies in front of the fire. The location is great - a quick drive to the charming towns of Woodstock, Saugerties and Phoenicia. That said, a car is definitely recommended as the towns are not within walking distance. The cabin is nestled in the woods (with a view of the mountains in the distance!) but not completely isolated as there are a few other houses nearby. Overall it was a fantastic stay and we can't say enough good things about the cabin - so much so that we plan to start a new family tradition and come up every year.

    Vanessa2014-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful weekend at Y & B's cabin. The location is a nice balance between privacy and accessibility to nearby towns - Saugerties is a very fun little place to spend an afternoon. The cabin was clean and tidy, and had everything we needed to enjoy a peaceful weekend. Netflix and HBO Go were available, the kitchen was well stocked and accommodating, and the wood burning stove was a great touch (and kept us VERY warm on a brutally cold weekend). We couldn't have asked for more! We would love to come back sometime soon.

Our home is a large post and beam with a large river rock fireplace and country kitchen and decks with one that serves as a private entrance with a hot tub. We have 22 acres with a meadow, groomed woodlands, a ridge with 35ft. granite walls offering views into the Berkshires. We have many trails, one that leads to a waterfall with a private swimming hole another to a small cabin with a charming outhouse excellent for viewing wildlife. Several campsites throughout the trail system. Come enjoy.
Most important thing about our place is that it is totally private, an excellent place for a retreat.
We are rural not many neighbors close by.
  • The house as very unique and cozy. The hot tub was amazing during the snow and the trail around the house was unbelievable. Cannot wait to come back during the summer and explore even more.

    Estefano2017-12-11T00:00:00Z

  • The hosts, RosaLee and Don were incredible. Super nice, easy to reach, local for any help we needed and just super flexible. We had an amazing time. The property is just gorgeous--it was literally like our own private oasis. We will definitely look to return sometime soon.

    Patti2017-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • The house and the property are great. It's like a private rural resort. There are a bunch of fire pits, a beautiful swimming hole and waterfall, private hiking trails, etc. The pics do not do it justice. Also, the hosts are very nice accommodating people. I highly recommend a stay here.

    Evan2017-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful location. Lots of privacy. An artsy farmhouse in the woods. Rosalee and Don are very responsive and caring. A perfect place to relax. We had no problems making full meals in the kitchen. Lots of sitting areas. Enjoyed walking in the woods, going to the swimming hole and sitting in the hot tub. If you want quiet and to get away from the hustle of life, this is the place.

    Julie2017-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • Great getaway for our little family. The 2 kids and dog shared a room, we had a space to ourselves. The house has great living space, lots of bright windows for viewing wildlife, and many little spaces so everyone can have a quiet spot to themselves if needed. The yard is lovely; lots of seating, the dog run kept our pup happy, and we timed things perfectly to enjoy the firefly spectacular in the field. There is a sweet little hiking trail, perfect for our young kids, and the swimming hole is great to cool off and splash around. Thanks again for sharing RosaLee!

This adorable house on the hill in Saugerties is convenient to all of the village amenities, including the beach, restaurants, shops, and kayaking access. It is all within a stone's throw from this hidden in plain sight gem.
The home is located directly across the street from what was once a school house and is now home to the family of John Henson, son of Jim Henson, the creator of the Muppets. The house is located on a bustling street, but has woods on two sides, which makes it feel private.
  • We loved Jamie's Hill Street home! It was exactly what we expected and needed for our quick weekend get-a-way!! Communicate was perfect and we had no issues whatsoever. Home was classic and charming. Hope to come back again next year!!!

    Jeff2016-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • Our second stay at Hill House was as excellent as our first. The house is immaculate, well-appointed with every convenience, and absolutely charming. Great location (5 minutes to horse show; a short walk to Diamond Mills and Partition Street), with comfortable beds and lux bedding, clean tiled shower with solid water pressure, nice towels, central air. We didn't use the large grill, or the flat screen TVs in living room and master, but it's nice to have every modern convenience in a house that retains its lovingly restored character. Jamie as well is a perfect host; communicative and responsive but not intrusive. Our stay was seamless and happy. We hope to return!

  • Jamie’s place is absolutely wonderful. The house is really nice and the views are amazing. You can find everything you need (even cool games to play)! Jamie was a super host since the beginning. Absolutely recommendable!

  • Loved my stay. Very comfortable accommodations. Owner was VERY responsive. For instance the water heater wasn't working, and she had a plumber to the house within the hour. Great location near the town of Saugerties.

  • Very sweet crafty house near the water and the road on the way into Saugerties, NY. The beds are comfy and the kitchen shines. It was a great homebase to explore the other small towns in the area. Lucy's in town is well worth a meal. Be sure to visit the trail to the lighthouse and the nearby Falling Water preserve.

Lovely room with private, kinda groovy bath, overlooking The Beach. This is an efficiency, private entrance, your own key, frig, microwave and coffee maker. This very comfortable private room with queen bed, bath, frig and microwave is also right in the Village, near Krause's Chocolates and Diamond Mills. A guest remarked that it was as close to a hotel experience as you can get on airbnb; and the hotel across the street charges 5-10X as much. The Beach is public, and has great kayaking.
Cool little town of Saugerties, and The Beach. Bring your kayak or canoe, or enjoy a cookout on the beach. Short drive to Woodstock, about 1/2 hour from Hunter and Windham. I have just had new triple glazed windows installed. There is also a new smartlock on the front door.
Saugerties, HITS, Woodstock, The Stockade area of Kingston - first capital of New York State. Great restaurants, hiking, swimming, kayaking, canoeing. Ski at Hunter or Windham.
  • Pamela was very attentive in giving us instructions on how to get into the room, as she was not able to be there. The room was very cozy and all the appliances and the bathroom worked perfectly. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone for a weekend out of the city. Also she was very accommodating with our pet. A big plus!

  • My wife, little daughter, and I had a wonderful time staying in one of Laura's spacious tents amongst the old apple orchard. Laura and Paul were wonderful hosts and their attention to detail made for a pretty spectacular little weekend "glamping." Looking forward to returning when the nights are a bit warmer and we plan to bring along some friends to share the experience.

  • An amazing property! Laura and her community have a beautiful chunk of land that allow for rest, relaxation and exploring. The yurts are clean and comfortable. And the bathrooms and shower are a treat. If you stay and don't use the outdoor shower, you will be missing out on the whole experience. We plan to come again!

  • This was my second stay and it was just as relaxing and beautiful as it was a year ago. I love the farm’s version of glamping, with its charming accommodations, the convenience of a basic kitchen and hospitable hosts. It rained, but our tent was dry inside and we had a good time picking peaches, playing horseshoes and checking out the chickens in between cloud bursts. Will definitely continue to come back!

    Melanie2018-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • Great experience! Will already like to go back and stay for a bit longer next time. 😊

    Ellen2017-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • This place is amazing. I will definitely come back. Beautiful piece of land and home. Great glamping setups. The outdoor communal kitchen had just what you need and anything else you needed, shops weren’t too far. The peace and quiet is what we needed. Met other ppl and joined them for Bbq dinner and campfire. Tents were beautiful . The night sky was probably the highlight. Could not stop looking at the stars! Perfect for a romantic getaway or even a big group. Melanie was very helpful showing us around and communication was constant. Location is perfectly close to many hiking trails, waterfalls, and other points of interest.

Authentic 18 foot Sioux Tipi handmade and painted by the artists at Nomadics Tipi Makers in Oregon. It overlooks Chloe's Lake, a 1.5 acre lake on a 20 acre forested parcel, 8 miles from the village of Woodstock.
……..The photos show many details. The tipi and most of the furnishings are custom made: the tipi and liner, the bed and futon sofa bed, the round masonry fire place and pentagonal fire screen. The other photos are of the lake and the surrounding 20 acres. There is also a photo of an off the grid cabin that shares the 20 acres of the other side of the lake. [That is on Airbnb also.]. The cabin is hidden in the forest and you do not see it from the Tipi. ....... DISCOUNTS: Rates are discounted for teachers, seniors [62], and full time students. Last minute bookings made 36 hours or less prior to check in time are discounted also. If any of these apply, send an inquiry [not instant book] and we will input the lower rate for you. .......The Sioux Tipi is off the grid. There as a small array of solar panels that charge a deep cycle battery in the tipi. That is enough for CFL lamps. The solar charge controller in the tipi has a USB outlet that can charge a phone. ……..The season is mid-April into November. While it can be kept warm and cozy in winter - we have been fine overnight at 10 degrees, we feel many guests would not have the right gear nor sufficient winter camping experience to appreciate it, so we take it down and store it for winter. Also, from January for 3 months we stay in Florida at our Matlacha waterfront cottage [Also available on Airbnb the other 9 months of the year], so we are not around to clean and maintain the tipi. If you are coming early or late in the season, nights are likely to be chilly, and keeping the fire going is needed to keep warm and cozy. We have another Sioux Tipi identical to this one 8 miles away, in Woodstock New York. That one was written up in travel in 2014 as "One of the 6 Best Tipis in the USA to Stay in." After that article, that tipi was booked for every weekend of the season, so there were quite a few who could not get reservations. This tipi we set up to try to accommodate everyone who would want to stay in a tipi. Also, the cost is lower for this one. ………There is a small outbuilding – “Tipi Room” - about 150 feet in back of the tipi. That has electricity from the grid. It contains a small refrigerator, kitchen cabinets with supplies and spares, Inside the tipi room is a sink and toilet. There is an outside shower. The Tipi Room is not heated, so when the temperature is first forecast to go significantly below freezing, the water must be shut off and the pipes drained until spring, or the pipes would freeze and break. So from some date in October until the end of the season, there is no running water at the tipi room. There is drinking water year around, explained below. .........On the 20 acre parcel there is one other structure - it is a tiny cabin on the other side of the lake - not in view of the tipi. When there are guests at the cabin, they have the right to use the tipi room water facilities. They are made aware of the tipi, and requested to respect your privacy. Sharing the 20 acres with 2 retreats has never been a problem. ………Outside, overlooking the lake, there is a large canopy with a propane BBQ grill and picnic table under it. There's also a fireplace that has a grill for cooking. We supply firewood. Across the lake, you will see a floating dock. That is shared with the cabin guests. It has a ladder for access to swim in the lake without having to wade in. ………There is a drilled well on the other side of the lake - see the map, it is right at the end of the road that leads to the cabin. That well has a submersible pump powered by the solar electric panels. The well is winterized, and operates all year around. At the well head is a small "pumphouse" about 18 inches square. Inside it is a timer and switch. Turn the timer a quarter turn to the right [clockwise], then turn on the switch to get water. The purpose of the timer is to automatically shut off the pump if it's being left on accidentally. ………Supplies provided include firewood, basic cooking pots, pans, plates cups, glasses and utensils, plus salt, pepper, cooking oil, matches, soap, paper towels, bathroom tissue, dish detergent, trash bags, and spare propane tanks for the camp stove. In addition to bedding and towels, we recommend you bring matches, a flashlight, and newspaper to start the campfire. There is a 2 burner Coleman propane camp cook stove in case you wish to cook without making a fire. The mattress in the tipi is a double, plus there is a futon couch that folds down to make a bed, if you have more than 2 people. [The futon is smaller than a double bed, but can accommodate 2 people - snugly.] As this is camping, you will need to bring your bedding and towels. As we do not live nearby, we cannot do "housekeeping" for the tipi after each guest. We must rely on guests to respect the next camper and leave the tipi, the dishes, bed, etc. clean and tidy, and to take all trash and put in the container at the beginning of the drive in. The cans to use for trash and for recycling are the two smaller ones, the larger ones are not ours. ……..We do check out the tipi every month or so, but that is no substitute for guests preparing the tipi and grounds for the next guest before they leave. ……..We have 8 retreats on Airbnb, and two others that are off the grid and not near our home we have dealt with the same way successfully for years. Most guests who choose to stay in a tipi or off the grid cabin seem to be considerate and leave them shipshape. 95% of the time it works fine, but once in a while there's an inconsiderate guest. If you encounter that rare case, and it’s not up to snuff, we ask that you please take care of it, let us know, and we will compensate you for your time. . If you’re not prepared to leave the tipi clean and shipshape for the next guests, please don’t consider booking this tipi. ______________________________________________________ About the area: Saugerties is about 3 miles away, a sweet village with numerous antique shops. The center of Woodstock is 8 miles from the property. The equestrian 'HITS' is nearby. This is at the edge of the Catskill Mountains, with fishing, hiking, tubing, and other outdoor activities. …….For the past 25+ years, this property has been one of our favorite retreats. The lake for a few of the summer months has watermeal, a tiny pinhead size leaf that floats on the surface. When it's breezy, the lake is clear of it, when it's totally calm the leaves spread out on the lake. When cold weather comes, they're gone. Our favorite times there are October until June, the cold weather makes the water clear, more lake-like, in summer, it looks more like a pond. ……..Following is a note sent to us by guests who spent a week at the cabin on the other side of the lake, with helpful information about getting to the property if you don't have a car. .-------“For anyone without a car, the bus from NYC to Saugerties is excellent, the Saugerties Stagecoach taxi was only $15 to the [property]. We brought enough food for 7 days in our backpacks, no problem.” [Note: If you don't bring all the food you need with you, there' a market one mile away that's shown on the topo map we send] ………A prospective guest asked some questions and I copy them and our reply below: 1) Is it safe there? (I mean, are there any strangers and / or any dangerous animals around?) 2) Is the lake swimmable? Answers: ………It is safe around here. No dangerous animals. We have seen bears a few times on the property, but they are not dangerous. Lots of wildlife, we have seen over the years wild turkey, great blue heron, geese on migration, green heron, ducks, foxes, deer, until a couple of years ago, there was a resident beaver family, the lake has sunnies and bass. You may see our enormous grass carp, nearly 3 feet, we introduced years ago to eat algae - it is vegetarian, so you can't catch it with bait. There are sizable bass in the lake. It is advisable not to leave food or anything outside that would attract bears. In addition to fishing in the lake, we often see people fishing in the nearby reservoir from the bridge [see the topo map for location]. For fishing off the property you'd need a license. We believe one can buy a license online for a day or a week. it swimable? The “swimability” varies with the time of year. For us it is swimable, whenever the water is warm enough. The lake maintains a thermocline all summer, that is, while the surface water gets warm, the deeper water, a foot or so below the surface, stays cool - having a thermocline is one of the differences that distinguish a lake from a pond. If a body of water is not deep enough, it cannot keep the thermocline. The best place to swim from if the ladder on the floating dock. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Check in 1 PM, Check out 12 noon. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ……..Caveat for spring and fall camping: If you have no experience with making and maintaining campfires, we suggest your first stay in a tipi be when the overnight temperatures are unlikely to be cold, May into September. So long as the fire is kept going well, you can be comfortable inside the tipi with a sweater or light jacket - even when the temperature is in the 20's or lower. Overnight, that means keeping the fire stoked during the night. Since being able to build and maintain a good fire is essential in cold weather, we have prepared a "Campfire Primer" with photos and step by step instructions that we send along to our guests. To repeat – we suggest you bring newspaper to start the campfire. Fire starting fluid MUST NOT BE USED INSIDE. PLEASE DO NOT BUILD FIRES OTHER THAN IN ONE OF THE TWO FIREPLACES. You may use it for the outside fire place [a fire ring]. We will have a bin in the Tipi Room with a couple of extra quilts in it. There will be a fitted sheet on the bed and pillowcases on the pillows, but we recommend you bring your own, since we cannot go there to put fresh linens after each guest. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you'd like to check out all our eight retreats, here's how to view them: From any of our listings, click on my photo, then, next page you come to, click my photo again. • It was rainy, but we still loved our stay in the Teepee for a short trip away from the city! The teepee was awesome, and we were able to cook everything inside - so the rain was hardly an issue. Andrew sent great detailed instructions prior about how everything works and where things are located - which made our stay super easy. Didn't make it out to the canoe, but would love to come back! Spent the next morning hiking up to Huckleberry Point and surrounding trails. Thank you!

  • We had a wonderful stay at the Tipi. The Tipi itself is large and roomy and the fireplace inside is great! The picnic area is covered which was great for us with the rain. The communication with Andrew was easy and he provided plenty of information on the Tipi and the area. I highly recommend the Tipi for a fun getaway and glamping experience.
