  • So many amazing positive things to say about Nant y Moel Farm! All the gang are so friendly and helpful. We were staying over Christmas and they really went to so much trouble to make it special for us. They put decorations up, made sure we had all the cooking stuff we needed - amazing. It's a tricky place to find if you're using a postcode but they gave us co-ordinates you can put in moogle gaps and it leads you straight there. There's a small town 3-5 minutes drive away where there's a supermarket, a chippy and a chinese so that was awesome. Parking. There's loads of it. We had 3 cars there. Plenty of room. The house itself is so quirky in its layout - I defy anybody not to fall in love with it. The rooms are very spacious and far enough apart that you always feel like you've got the place to yourself. There are accessibility handles all over the house so if you have elderly people or those not so good on their feet in your party there's plenty of help for them. And don't worry if you forget to bring DVDs. They've got 2 living rooms, each with a telly and DVD player in and a collection of films and TV series with something for every taste. Over 500 titles, I'd guess. Very impressive. And the hot tub! It's really worth the extra money to have the hot tub. So relaxing. Thank you so much, guys. We had one of the best Christmases ever!

  • Jonathan took good care of us. The location was great for the Coldplay gig, a 35 minute drive away. The place is incredible value for money and the house dog Sally is a delight. We were even allowed to check out late! Will be back again next year for the Ed Sheeran concert!

    Niranjan2017-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • Great hub for outdoor activities. We choose it for price and location as we were cayoning & moutian biking. Loved the added hot tub. Will use again.

    Jeremy2016-11-13T00:00:00Z
  • We went for a weekend of mountain biking and the house was perfect for our needs - really close to bike park Wales and numerous natural trails. We brought 4 cars and a load of bikes but had ample space for everything. The hot tub was great, if a little green by the end, and Martyn checked in on us at the beginning of our stay to make sure we were settled in and had everything we needed. Already talking about our next trip!

  • We stayed here for 3 nights and had such a lovely time! The annexe was lovely, just as described and the views were amazing!! We went over to the new inn pub which is opposite and that was really nice! Cheap too! There is a co op shop 5 minutes by car down the road which was handy. No oven but we didn't need it. Stephen was really nice and friendly and came and said hello. We climbed pen y fan the second day and the views were amazing. It was a 20 min drive by car to there. We also went and saw lots of water falls which was nice too. Lots of dvds in the annexe, warm and clean. Will definitely be returning!

    Rachael2017-04-13T00:00:00Z
  • We loved everything about staying at Stephen and Alison's condo! Stephen went out of his way to pick us up at the train station and then get us to the car rental place--and then led us to the house! He did the same thing in reverse when we left. He immediately made us feel at home with his humor and taking an interest in our family and willingness to serve us in any way he could. The rental property itself is wonderful--beautifully furnished and decorated, clean and spacious, gorgeous view out the back, very well-equipped kitchen, TV with a large selection of DVD's. This area of Wales is stunning, with lovely wide vistas of mountains and charming small towns, like Hay-on-Wye. We would definitely go back!

  • We stayed with Phil and Karen near the Brecon Beacons for a couple of nights. They offer a beautiful and modern apartment. Karen even made fresh bread and scones for us! Although we were not blessed with the weather we enjoyed our stay very much. The apartment has a nice sunroom that is warm even on a rainy and windy day. Attractions like waterfall country are nearby. We highly recommend staying with Phil and Karen!

  • Thanks Philip and Karen for a lovely stay and the tasty bread and chocolate cake. Me and my friend Miriam loved staying in your Annex, it is so well equipped, you had thought about everything even down to having some sandwich bags in the cupboard and a folder of all the local maps and walks, it was a lovely place to stay. Especially loved the view out of the conservatory across the Beacons and the fact it was so close to many of the places we wanted to visit. Beautiful location and very tranquil. Both of us would be very keen to come again. Thanks once again.

In 2003 we lovingly restored our former stable to provide cosy accommodation for guests visiting the Neath Valley. While the thick stone walls, odd windows and hayloft door have been retained, the interior has been given new life by the use of natural materials; reclaimed timber being used for the beams, doors and upstairs flooring and slate for the ground floor. After a long day exploring the great outdoors, guests can return to our cosy cottage, for a comfy night's sleep.
Yr Hen Stabl is the total transformation of an old, disused stable. While the thick stone walls, odd windows and hayloft door have been retained, the interior has been given new life through clever use of natural materials, such as slate and reclaimed timber. Modern comforts are tastefully mixed with antique style; sloping ceilings and wide plank doors sit comfortably with up-to-date kitchen and bathroom fittings, double glazing and central heating. Living Area: The through-lounge is separated from the kitchen by an antique Victorian counter, rescued from the local corner shop. The lounge area is attractively furnished and decorated with paintings and embroideries. There is a colour television, DVD player, radio and lots of games and books. Kitchen: The kitchen is well equipped with ample work surfaces, a refrigerator, washing machine, low level cooker/ ceramic hob, microwave, belfast sink and breakfast bar. Bedrooms: Yr Hen Stabl sleeps three. There are two bedrooms, one double and one single, with a pull-out bed available. All bedlinen and duvets are provided. Bathrooms: There is a bathroom upstairs and a WC and shower/wet room downstairs, both supplied with fluffy hand/bath towels (instant hot water/central heating are included in the tariff). Garden: The French windows open out onto a sunny patio set in the former paddock and a landscaped garden which is mature and full of colour. Children: Yr Hen Stabl can accommodate children Animals: We regret that Yr Hen Stabl cannot accept pets. Parking: Parking in grounds for two cars. Access: The open-plan ground floor accommodation is level and spacious. Entrance is via a wide doorway, accessible by wheelchair. History: During its time, Yr Hen Stabl has been a hay barn, a cow shed and possibly even a cart shed. During recent excavations for a drain, we found – much to everyone’s excitement – a Roman coin. Experts at Cardiff Museum have identified it as being made between 337 and 361, during the reign of Konstantius, the second Christian Emperor of Rome. How it came to be at Abergwrelych is anyone’s guess and would make a fascinating story.
The Neath Valley has had a chequered history; from being a ‘romantic valley’ beloved of painters such as J.M.W. Turner, it was transformed into an industrial coal-mining area. Since the demise of the mining industry, the scarred and disfigured land has been restored once more to its lush, green landscape. Waterfall Country - Nowhere else in Wales is there such a richness and diversity of waterfalls within such a small area as can be found in the Vale of Neath. This abundance has led to the region becoming known as ‘Waterfall Country'. Brecon Beacons - The Brecon Beacons National Park contains some of the most spectacular and distinctive upland formations in southern Britain, including Pen Y Fan, the second highest peak in Wales. Stretching from Hay on Wye in the east to Llandeilo in the west, the National Park incorporates the Black Mountains, the Central Beacons and Fforest Fawr as well as moorland, forests, valleys, waterfalls, lakes, caves and gorges. Maen Madoc & Maen Llia - Maen Madoc and Maen Llia are standing stones in the Brecon Beacons national park. Maen Madoc is about 2.7 metres high, and is thought to mark a Christian burial site. Maen Llia is a large diamond-shaped stone, 3.7m high, 2.8m wide and only 0.6m thick. Legend has it that whenever a cock crows, the stone moves off to drink in the nearby River Nedd. Afan Forest Park - Afan Forest Park is the fastest growing mountain bike centre in Britain, with a broad range of trails of varying levels of difficulty. With beautiful viewpoints over the Gower Peninsula, Lundy Island and the Brecon Beacons, these trails will leave you breathless in more ways than one. Carreg Cennen Castle - Carreg Cennen is one of the most spectacularly sited castles in Wales. It dates back at least to the late 13th century, although a cache of Roman coins and four prehistoric skeletons unearthed at the site, suggest that the Romans and even prehistoric peoples occupied the craggy hilltop centuries earlier. Neath Abbey Ruins - Neath abbey was founded in 1130 by the Norman Baron, Richard de Granville. It was described as the ‘Fairest Abbey in all Wales’ by Tudor Historian John Leland. The Abbey enjoyed varying fortunes, and was finally dissolved by Henry VII in 1539. The Abbey’s location, on the banks of the Tennant Canal, makes it a tranquil and memorable site for the visitor. Cwm Gwrelych Heritage Trail - Right on our doorstep is the Cwm Gwrelych Heritage Trail, a site of national geological importance. We are proud to say that it is known as 'Merfyn's Walk', a trail named after my late husband and the information points relate to Merfyn's childhood spent playing and exploring in the area. This is an absolutely unique experience and has quickly become a 'must do' with our visitors. Walkers and cyclists are always welcome, with secure storage available for bicycles.
  • A lovely spot with great walks nearby. We loved Merfyn's Walk audio trail just a few minutes from the cottage, as well as the incredible waterfall trails nearby. A great place to explore this lovely area of Wales. The cottage was cosy, clean and welcoming and ideal for us and our two teenage kids and we really enjoyed meeting Margaret who was on hand if we needed anything but otherwise left us to our own devices.

  • Stayed here for two nights while on a weekend walking trip with two friends. Peaceful residential location with pub and shop within walking distance. The house was comfortable for all of us and the kitchen was well equipped for us to cook all our meals. Everything was clean and Margaret was a friendly host. Would certainly recommend this property.

  • This was a lovely cottage and has a real home from home feel. Everything you need and even those that you didn't know you did are provided. Margaret provides a wealth of information on the local area and is hand for advice on anything you need. Parking is on site and the outdoor space is lovely. A great find and somewhere we will definitely be booking again.

  • Margaret's place is something really special...we have just enjoyed a glorious 2 day stay in this beautiful accommodation. The stables have been so sympathetically renovated , so cleverly designed with lots of interesting pieces and furniture. The 2 bedrooms ( one double, 2 single beds) were comfortable and the wet room was very welcome after our previous camping trip. Everything was so pleasing and Margaret herself gave us such a warm welcome, complete with freshly baked Welsh Cakes. We would very much hope to return here.

  • Real cozy place out in the sticks, but super close to a motorway to take you wherever you're going. The host suggestes plenty of awesome attractions well within driving distance (I'd also suggest you check out the red lion inn if you get a chance) and was very helpful and friendly during our stay.

  • Really secluded home, so perfect for a quiet get away. Which is what we were after! The house itself is really spacious, so as a group of 8 we never felt on top of each other. Wifi passwords etc were left out for us which was very handy for us! House was great and we had a lovely time spent here. With a little bit of updating this house could be absolutely stunning because of all the space. The gentleman who we spoke to on the phone just after we arrived was helpful and informative when we asked him about how to turn on heating / tv . Lazy spa hot- tub was a good laugh too. Thanks again!

  • We enjoyed our stay and the place was perfect for us. Just about everything was under a few miles away. Everything was just perfect!

  • Such a perfect place to stay for a bunch of guys needing a spacious place to say offering the facilities that was in the property. We was all happy with crashing down watching a movie on the sky box then retiring to a big bed which is not easy to find on Airbnb! Will be hoping to stay again soon

    Daniel2017-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • Quiet secluded place , great for our needs , really good price , Bit dissspointed we were charged £10 each for towels and bedding that wasn’t fresh or clean , the heating /hot water at the property is very poor

    christopher2017-12-06T00:00:00Z
  • Martyn and Elizabeth make great hosts and their lovely farm is right on the doorstep of the Brecon Beacons.

    miles2017-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay here, the location is really great for exploring the breacon beacons and the surrounding area, the house guide gives details of local attractions which we might not have discovered otherwise (definitely visit Henrhyd waterfalls). There were only 3 of us staying but I imagine this place would be fantastic for a larger group, with the large kitchen area suitable for hearty meals after long walks or rides and great facilities including sky tv, pool table and bar football. We will hopefuly come again!

If you want to get away from it all for a cozy relaxing time, the barn is just the thing for you. we are right on the footpath, so you won't have to use your car to explore the many waterfalls in the area. It's good for couples, solo adventurers, and families,(with or without kids). But sadly no pets, as there are sheep around. For the more adventurous Pen y fan is a 15 minute drive away; the Bike Park Wales is 30 miuntes, and Afon Argoed bike trails are also 30 minutes in the other direction.
You can find amazing drone footage of our place by clicking on this (URL HIDDEN)
Pen y fan is a short drive away and is popular with tourists and locals alike. Gorge walking is also popular, as well as mountain biking - Gethin Woods,Merthyr has organised trails. If you get in touch by email i can send you details of people who organise out door activities, from providing a picnic hamper and a log fire at a romantic spot, to caving and gorge walking. Penderyn Whiskey distillery is worth a visit - only 15 minutes down the road.
  • Amazingly quiet and beautiful views. Janice was very helpful and gave us lots of information about the local area. Already planning our next visit!

  • Amazing clean and very cozy cottage!would recommend for everyone. Plus the owner went an extra mile with some sweet little surprises we found upon arrival. Thanks Janice

  • We loved our trip to the Brecon Beacons and it was made perfect thanks to this place. Had absolutely everything we needed and Janice and Dai made sure we felt at home! The location is perfect for exploring the waterfall trails nearby where a nearby bridleway takes you directly too them! Would definitely stay here again!

  • Quick one: -comfy beds - immaculate decorating - amazing views - pretty outside deck - great kitchen and equipment - peaceful immediate surroundings - great hosts, just down the track - LOVED IT!

    Rob2017-06-05T00:00:00Z
  • Janice and Dai are the ultimate hosts, welcoming you to their "barn" and providing for all your needs. You could not be in a better location to Brecon Beacons NP especially if you plan to hike Pen Y Fan and/or the 4 Waterfalls Walk. Beautiful setting with fantastic amenities! We sat outside on the deck and enjoyed the meteor shower. We had a fire every night in the glass front fireplace. We enjoyed watching the birds feeding at the feeders. We tried to engage their sheep in conversation :) We should be so lucky to live somewhere this nice!

    Barbara2017-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely clean new place to stay in ideal location. Very close to a shop which we did not need to use. Everything you should need is included (except food). Four Falls walk is within walking distance (start at cave, walk down to Sgwd yr Eira and back via Clungwyn falls car park, and the little path that passes the cottage). We also drove to A470 car park near Storey Arms to climb Pen-y-Fan - fantastic views. Interesting drive back via Heol Senni. Also recommended by a warden was a walk going West from Ystradfellte, but we're saving that for our next trip.

This cottage is located at the head of the Rhondda valley. It is surrounded by lush green mountains, streams and waterfalls. Perfectly remote to take you away from the hustle and bustle and to get some clean Welsh air into your lungs with the chance of stunning walks and cycling. To the North is the Brecon Beacons National Park, to the south is the Industrial Heritage of the valley. The Capital, Cardiff can be either reached by car or public transport. Ideal location for exploring south Wales.
This is an original miners cottage and has 2 open fire places where we supply coal and kindling to light a fire - this is enjoyed by young and old. Its a unique insight into the heritage of a coal mining society and its culture. Nature has reclaimed the areas once With the grim of the collieries gone the valleys are again beautiful places. The Rhondda was king of the coal valleys with 66 pits in its heyday, housing a huge population of miners. As well as this great heritage a short car ride north will bring you to the Brecon Beacons one of Wales National Parks where wild horses roam free and there are many great walks and cycle rides.
The neighbourhood is very friendly, the Rhondda Valley is known for its community and spirit. There are waterfalls and walks straight outside the cottage as well as childrens play park nearby. Food shopping - there is a corner shop 15 mins walk in Tynewydd, a bit further (5 mins drive) in Treherbert there is a spar and in Treorchy there is a co-op and Lidl as well as grocers, butchers, bakers. Pub - there is a pub in the village with pub food but check opening times - the Hendrewen - usually Thursday night, Friday night and Sunday day. There are pubs throughout the valley, the Lion in Treorchy is recommended. Cafes- the Valleys are know for their cafe culture - a classic is the Station Cafe in Treorchy Restaurants - we need to do more research! But CF42 Hugh St Social is a new bistro style cafe bar which is always full and recommended - book in advance, often live music. Shopping - Treorchy is the nearest place with an eclectic mix of gift shops, tattoo parlors and beauty salons. To the north is Penderyn Whisky which does great tours of its whisky and gin making. Less than an hour - Brecon, the beach, Swansea, Cardiff, the famous Dan yr ogof National Caves Less than 30 mins - Brecon Beacons National Park, Pontypridd Heritage Park and Lido. 10-20 mins - shops, restaurants, cafes takeaways Less than 5 mins walk - mountains with woodlands and waterfalls for cycling and walking.
  • This cottage was perfect for me. I enjoyed 4 weeks here whilst working on the nearby by windfarm and the other lads I was working with have carried on staying in the cottage. The host was very friendly and supplied fire wood, coal and kindle when ever needed.

    michael2017-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • Great experience of living in a miners cottage. You could almost imagine the lifestyle and family living that they would have experienced. The neighbours were very friendly and it was lovely to speak a lady who had lived in the same house for the past 67 years! Good walks available from the cottage into the forest. Quiet location and good wi-fi!

    Juliet2017-06-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely weekend herer here and enjoyed many Waterfall walks .

    Monica 2017-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • Kate was very easy to communicate with and the location is fantastic for getting out into the valley. Very quiet little village. A wonderful little spot.

    Elizabeth2016-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • A quaint little cottage with beautiful surroundings on its door step. A gem of a place.

    Damien2016-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • A group of friends and I stayed at Kate's place (with a toddler) for a hiking weekend. The location is great for the Brecon Beacons, and the flat has beautiful views, but there are no great dinner options close to the cottage (just a few take aways). Some nice pubs in the national park but (on a bank holiday weekend) we found that booking ahead would have been useful. The place itself is fine; our only comment is that the beds are rather soft. No off street parking but that was not a problem at all, even with four cars. Kate was very helpful and communicative, and bar a minor hiccup during check in (wrong key code) all was good. Great place for a larger group into outdoor activities.

    Kevin2017-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful stay once again in this idyllic part of the world. Everyone in the village is welcoming and helpful. Scenery is just stunning whichever way you venture. House greatly improved with upgraded broadband. There is everything you could need for a great experience of the surrounding area.

    Paul2017-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • An old and lovely cottage which was a very good starting point for exploring the surroundings. Landscape is really stunning and alle the rivers and water falls were great fun for our 4 and 6 year old kids. We made some nice day trips in the direct surrounding. You'll find everything for the basic needs in Tynewydd A 24h supermarket is less than 20min away. The kitchen has got the very basic equipment.

Our place is in the heart of the Brecon Beacons National Park, which is celebrated for it's stunning views. being a natural adventure playground & Dark Sky Reserve. You can walk from the door to visit mountains, forests, rivers & waterfalls. We love the wide open spaces of the moor and the tranquil walks through the valleys and gorges of Waterfall Country. We are within easy reach of Pen y Fan, Sgwd yr Eira & Penderyn Distillery. Our place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and groups.
We have 3 guest rooms; 2 can be double or twin, please let us know in advance which configuration suits you best. We are in a very rural spot, access to public transport is about a 30 minute walk away. If you are coming without a car, please be aware there are no shops or evening restaurants within easy walking distance. A pub with food is about a 35 minute walk. Do give us a call to discuss the options.
EVENING MEALS For evening meals try the Red Lion in Penderyn, a small ancient pub about 2 miles away with an excellent restaurant. Early booking is essential. Alternatively Glancynon at Hirwaun is about 3 miles away; a large friendly pub with an excellent menu. Booking is recommended particularly at weekends. For Sunday evenings, evening meals are available at Nant Ddu Lodge about 5 miles away, booking is recommended. For those people not wishing to venture out in the evening we offer a light supper every night at 7pm at a cost of £8-£12, please give us notice in advance if you wish to eat with us.
  • Absolutely beautiful property within stunning sceanery. The hosts are more than attentive to help in any way they can. Within close proximity to pen-y-fan mountain and Penderyn distillery which were both great days out! The rooms are fully equipped with everything you might need and there is also use of a wonderful large communal room with log burner and tastefully decorated. Great spot if you like peace, quiet and wildlife including sheep in the field opposite the property. Lovely stream out the back of the property ideal to sit by and relax whilst having the morning cuppa! The food was exquisite with plenty of choice. Superb, thanks so much Caroline, I'm sure you'll be seeing us again very soon!

My place is close to Waterfalls, caves and mountains with fantastic walking. It is just a 2 minute walk from Porth Yr Ogof Caves, and 2 minutes from the start famous Four Waterfalls Walk. You’ll love my place because of the comfy bed, the cosiness, the kitchen and the stunning location. My place is great for couples. The property is a newly constructed, spacious, shepherds hut with underfloor heating, log burner and it is insulated with lambs wool. This is Glamping at it's best!
The hut is spacious with a very comfortable king size bed and luxurious bedding . A starter kit for the woodburner will be provided on request.
The hut is situated in the stunning Brecon Beacons national park right in the heart of waterfall country . The small village of Ystradfellte is a 5 minute drive or a 10 minute walk . There is a pub that serves food (dog and walker friendly ). There are lots of other pubs in the area contact owner for details.
  • A beautiful place to stay for some peace and quiet away from the hustle and bustle. The hut was immaculate. I'd definitely stay in Lucia's place again.

  • The hut was spotlessly clean and tidy. I found everything was very well done - great design, high standard of workmanship and clearly a lot of thought had gone into it. The bed was absolutely wonderful. So comfortable and I loved the fitted sheets! Location-wise you cannot fault it, being in the middle of an area with so much to do.

  • Great little place! We booked in order to be close to the Four Waterfalls trail, and it is literally steps from the start of the trail. Check in/out was hassle free. • 2 of my guys stayed at Patrick’s and had nothing but good things to say about the place. Patrick himself was an absolute joy to deal with and we will certainly stay again if we are in the area . Thanks

    Chris2017-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Spent a great week at Patrick's place while visiting family in the area. Check- in was easy, Patrick communicated with us via text/email to make sure we had all the information needed before arrival. The cottage was clean and very comfortable, wifi worked well which was important to us. We enjoyed the walks from the end of the street - to the waterfall and also to the top of Pen Pich. Hiking boots are useful if it has been raining as some areas can be muddy. We hope to return!

    Diane2017-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • Patrick's place in the valleys was clean, spacious, and perfect for a family or a group of 4 to escape into Brecon Beacons. There's a really nice waterfall walk on the doorstep and easy access to other walks in the national park. The check-in process was a breeze and Patrick was very helpful.

    Jonathan2017-04-17T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed here for 3 days and absolutely enjoyed ourselves. Great location with essential shops nearby if you need anything important. The trek to the beautiful waterfalls starts right next to the cottage so that's pretty good too. We would come back again and would definitely recommend this place for a break in the valley! Thank you Patrick for your tips via email.

My place is close to caves and waterfalls in the heart of waterfall country in the Brecon Beacons national park . There are fantastic walks direct from the barn including start of four waterfalls walk and it's set in 6 acres of its own grounds . It has a large garden and the entrance to Porth yr Ogof caves is literally a two minute walk. You'll love my place because of the lovely log burner, comfy beds ,the open plan downstairs and the seclusion. My place is good for families and pet.
The barn is in an excellent location no need to get in the car for the waterfalls walk and a short drive (15 minutes ) for car park for Pen y Fan . Porth Yr Ogof caves short walk , also lovely forest and mountain walks accessible from barn.
  • If you're looking for a secluded and isolated retreat, this is the place for you. We had a lovely little 2 night stay at Lucia's property. Phone signal and communication was down to a minimum so no distractions and no interuptions. The place is well equipped, clean comfortable. Great for walking/ caving/ canoeing if you're in to those sort of things, alternatively just stay in the confines of the barn and admire the traditional welsh weather through the window. :) We would definately come to this place again. Thanks Lucia

    Chris2017-01-30T00:00:00Z
  • Nice and peaceful, lovely barn, well equipped for a relaxing stay.

  • We had a really good stay at Lucia's hut! So peaceful and such a beautiful house. Only downside was there was no wifi.

  • Lucia's barn is the perfect place for a holiday in the Brecon Beacons. There are loads if great walks straight from the barn including a beautiful waterfall walk. It is in a quiet spot, perfect for star gazing on a clear night. Although it is rural there is a pub with good food a beer not far away. The barn is the perfect size for 4 adults or a family. Lucia's communication was great and she made sure we had everything we needed for our stay plus a few extras. I would definitely recommended staying here.

    Amanda2017-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • An idyllic setting for an amazing rural stay in Brecon Beacons. The barn had everything we needed and was set out so beautifully. Ideal for anyone wishing to get away from everyday routine with its simple pleasures and comfortable touches. Lucia was an incredibly thoughtful host and offered valuable insight to the area. We would thoroughly recommend a stay and we are hoping to return soon.

    Phil2017-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely adored our stay in Lucias barn. The barn itself is gorgeous & is set in the most beautiful location near the waterfall walk. We spent a lot of time walking during the day & the barn was very cosy to come back to in the evenings. Everything was very clean & tidy. We only tried one local pub (White Horse) but the food was brilliant & the atmosphere fabulous! We will definitely be visiting the area again & be back to stay in the barn!

    Georgia2017-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • We had an absolutely fantastic stay at the barn! Clean and bright with plenty of room. We arrived late in the evening with excellent instructions on how to find this secluded Welsh barn. We were welcomed with a bottle of red wine and a local Welsh cake - perfect refreshments! We spent our days hiking in the stunning waterfalls of the South beacons; highly recommended. We came back to a cosy and warm home perfect for board games and laughter. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to explore the great outdoors in style and comfort. It couldn't have been better! Lucia was a wonderful host willing to great us and also helpfully return some left items! Brilliant, we will stay again soon.

    Alex2017-11-28T00:00:00Z
  • Lucia's place will always be booked with returners if Brecon Beacons area is what they like as this accommodation has everything, including a friendly helpful host. Three bathrooms is luxury and great central heating means wet kit dries off easily. Comfortable lounge to relax in after cooking a meal in the home from home kitchen. Beds great too, and expandable to suit six guests with a bit of manuovering. We arrived late, in snow and the weekend got more and more wintry so powercuts, snow drifts and slippery lanes had to be negotiated. Lucia and her partner, on a variety of 4-wheel drive vehicles, came to our rescue from their cottage 400 mtrs away, including towing back to the main road to get us out of the village. So helpful. Regards proximity, the village is rather famous itself to geographers and cave buffs, also for the string of waterfalls. The pub is the hub of life and very nice. But a 20 minute drive brings you up to Storey Arms and below the main Beacons, so very direct and central, so long as it's not snowing heavily!

  • We enjoyed our stay with Marc, the Shepherd's hut was deceptively spacious even with a 7 month old! The landscape and views are beautiful and we loved seeing the llama's in the morning. We were very well looked after.

    Katie2017-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • We were welcomed with such warmth and helpfulness. The Shepard's hut was cozy, clean and provided us with everything we needed. The surrounding area is beautiful and listening to the river from the hut was so relaxing. The location felt very much in nature. It was such a treat to see the ducks waddling around, the Lamas munching in the field and Evie the dog greeting us. We felt like we had plenty of space to ourselves and Marc was always available for a lovely chat and to help us out. Wonderful host.

  • Marc is very nice and friendly, also very thoughtful! As we did not have that much camping experience he explained a lot to us. The view in forest park is fabulous!

  • Taken home some very tranquil memories from Willow Springs, the ideal place for a bit of quiet time for the couple of days before racing. I didn't really know what to expect of the site/Shepherds Hut so kept an open mind. The setting was absolutely perfect, situated right in a valley surrounded by lush forest, rivers and streams. Plenty of walking routes around the area however I had to keep fresh legs, so will have to explore these at a later date. Loads of mountain bike trails around too which I gather are popular. The but was well equipped and includes a separate cook room/kitchen at the rear side which also is well equipped. Marc and Judes (hosts) level of hospitality were unparalleled who have set quite a bench mark. Attentive but not over bearing and quite happy for you to just get on with your own level of privacy and have extensive knowledge of surrounding areas. Needless to say we will be back, for longer and (predictably) equipped with a road bike to explore the incredible gradients and surprisingly smooth roads!

  • We had a great time at the Shepard's Hut. The Hut was comfortable and well equipped for what we needed; Marc even arranged for some goodies to be there upon arrival as we were there to celebrate a birthday. The facilities were really clean. A great weekend! Thank you.

  • Lovely shepherd hut on a well equipped campsite with excellent facilities. We took a walk up into the forest which we would recommend. Marc was very welcoming and helpful and was kind enough to give us a bottle of wine as a honeymoon gift. We very much enjoyed our stay.

  • This is a great little place to stay!! Marc and his family are very hospitable. There is so much attention to detail. You have everything you need for a wonderful glamping experience. Nice place to go to get away from it all! We hope to see you again!

Whites Level House is ideal for anyone planning an outdoor holiday in the Afan Valley Area, or South Wales in general. The Afan Forest Park is an extremely popular location for mountain biking, rambling and fishing. Whites Level House is situated in the village of Glyncorrwg set within the picturesque Afan Valley, ideally placed to access the forest park as well as to local amenities. Designed for outdoor enthusiasts our accommodation can house up to seven people comfortably... Enjoy the ride!
Situated in the Heart of the Afan Valley... Whites Level House is a lovely, large house for groups and families. A home from home!
  • Loads of space with 6 adults staying and good facilities. The decking at the back of the house would be great to use in the summer (we sadly had April showers on our weekend!). Perfect location for heading out for walks (local or a short drive to the Brecon Beacons), heading to the beach or hiring bikes with loads of bike hire facilities near by. Would definitely use Hilton's place again in the future.

  • We had a fantastic time. The rooms were better than we expected, great value and Frank was a brilliant host!

    Becca2017-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Frank is doing a great job and couldn't have been more helpful. He is doing a great job with the place. But the property hasn't had investment for many years and it is very very dated. It was clean but the tiles and fittings in the bathroom were so old they couldn't be properly cleaned. The furniture was also very old. Frank has only just taken it over and has got great plans. With investment it would be a lovely place to stay. It is delightfully quiet and it was nice waking up and looking out onto the Country Park.

  • Franks the perfect host and the rooms were very clean and warm. Perfect!

Well presented Victorian terraced house. Modernised with large kitchen. Bedroom 1 = Double Bed, Bedroom, Single beds, Bedroom 3 = Double Sofa Bed. Bathroom has bath & separate shower. Lane access.
The house has a modern feel. Is well kept and benefits from a Grand Piano. It is a traditional terraced house in a quiet street. There is plenty of room to relax and spend your holiday. The house is perfect for those wishing to visit the Brecon Beacons, Bike Park Wales, Penderyn Whiskey Distillery, Aberdare Park (For the motorbike racing), Dare Valley Country Park and is only 30 min from The Gower.
Aberdare Park and Dare Valley Country park are just 100m away. Aberdare Town Centre is just 1/2 a mile away and there is a convenience store, Lidl, Chinese, Chip Shop, Hair Dresser and 2 pubs within 400m of the house. The Brecon Beacons National Park is just three miles away. Bike Park Wales can be seen on the hill opposite.
  • Had a lovely stay with friends and Andrew had lots of recommended visits since our Pen Y Fan trip was called off due to weather. Lots of leaflets too to help make our decision. Very comfortable nights sleep and very quiet area :)

  • We stayed at Andrew's place for a weekend of mountain biking at Bike park Wales. The house is perfectly located, close to the center of Aberdare. Inside it is cosy and very well taken care of. Because of the nice weather we were very happy we could sit outside in the garden as well, where it is possible to have a nice bbq. Also really liked the art hanging in the house! Andrew is very reachable and reactive, and gave good tips for things to see, do and eat in the area. Thanks for everything Andrew, we had a great time! Best, Arnaud, Edward, Tom, Mattias and Julien

    Arnaud2016-05-17T00:00:00Z
  • Andrew is very nice and helpful person. He showed us great things surrounding the house and recommended good places where locals usually go for. The houses tidy and clean which makes it very comfortable to spend breaks with friends and family.

    Leidy2015-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • Communication was excellent and the house was well equipped with everything we needed. Wouldn't hesitant to go back or recommend to others. Many thanks.

  • This house was a great place to stay. There is plenty of room - six of us were very comfortable and the house was clean and tidy.

    Sophie2017-12-03T00:00:00Z
  • Andrew responded quickly to any texts or messages. The house was decorated with fascinating original artwork. Kitchen and Bath were updated and had all the essentials. A piano, tv w/dvd and an interesting selection of books helped pass any idle time.

    Robert2015-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • The place is well decorated, clean and very spacious. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to anyone.

    Richard2015-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • It was a great stay for all 4 of us. Cosy authentic place, good kitchen, nice grand-piano. Easy to operate boiler for heating control, nice neighbourhood. Andrew gave lots of information about the area - we found it extremely useful! Supermarket is only 2 min walk away for the groceries. We had a wonderful weekend. Thank you!
