Case Vacanze a Pendeen

Appena prenotato a Pendeen

  • Great location, perfect for exploring the beautiful coast path and west Cornwall. Easy to find and parking is good. The flat is quite small so would be a bit cosy for more than 2 guests in our opinion, but we had a really nice time here and it was perfect for our short break in St Just.

  • Raminder is so nice and made us feel welcome from the start, including fresh milk and eggs, different routes from Penzance to St just, and things to do in Cornwall. The apartment is beautiful with the Cape Cornwall in walking distance. Although St Just is really small, you have everything you need here. And we strongly recommend the Cookbook Cafe.

  • Lovely apartment really close to town. Great walks and quiet neighbors. SUPER comfy bed! Great streets for skating plus a mini skatepark close by. Host was really helpful too.

  • This was the first time we've used Airbnb and were a little apprehensive about what to expect. However, I have to say we were very pleasantly surprised!! Communication from Reminder was excellent throughout, providing all the details we needed to enjoy our stay, without being overwhelming. The apartment is in a really quite area and a lovely base for a holiday or short break. It's very clean, modern and had everything we needed during our stay, including some essential fresh provisions like milk on arrival. The apartment is literally a few minutes walk to the village centre that has a number of shops including, fruit & veg, butcher, bakery, pharmacy, supermarket, fish & chips, Chinese takeaway, cafes, sandwich shop also selling freshly baked pizzas to takeaway and craft shops. There are also a number of pubs and hotels that serve good quality food and drink. We were amazed at how much was in the village, how lively it was and how friendly the locals were. Finally there is a bus stop right outside with regular buses running into Penzance etc. and some really lovely walks nearby. We only used our car once the whole time we were there. Thanks Raminder, we will definitely be returning.

  • Lovely flat, as described. St just has all you need, pubs, shops, chip shop, walkable to the beach. Flat is well equipped and had everything e needed. Is a tad noisy from the dog downstairs barking in the mornings but we didn't mind as it didn't last long. Didn't see Raminder.

  • We had a week stay in St Just and having this space made it a great experience. The flat is really cozy, with everything you need. The host was super good with communicating, so we felt anything we needed help with we could easily ask. The flat also had some maps/books on the area and is located perfect for getting around Cornwall areas. I would highly recommend Raminder- her flat made our trip experience better and she is a great host.

    Matthew2015-04-19T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely flat very well located in a great village. Very clean with everything you might need and some lovely personal touches. Thank you Raminder for a lovely stay.

  • The flat was exactly as described and we had everything we needed. St Iust is a beautiful little village and a great base to explore west Cornwall. The flat was only a 2 minute walk to local shops and a co-op and it is very convenient. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend the flat!

The grade II listed cottage was built from local Cornish granite stone c.1750 as a small miner's cottage and comfortably sleeping 3. It comprises of a cosy sitting room with multi fuel stove. The kitchen is fully equipped with all appliances. The front double bedroom has a king size bed and the back bedroom has a single bed. Bed Linen, towels and beach towels are all provided. The bathroom has a roll top bath and separate shower.
Friendly people, local pubs and shop. Close to Geevor Tin Mine.
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Niver Dew Cottage. It was very comfortable and clean and ideally located for exploring the the north-west coast of Cornwall. And it had a pretty little front garden. There are three pubs within walking distance and a tea shop serving the famous Cornwall cream teas just across the road. The cottage is located very close to the South West Coastal Path - so very convenient for hikers like us. Emily's instructions for getting there and finding our way around were excellent.

  • We really enjoyed our stay at Niver Dew, it is a great base to explore the further bits of Cornwall from. The views from the rear bedroom are lovely. Its a cosy cottage with everything you could need. We stayed during a cold spell in February, the only thing that would have made the stay more cosy was either slightly more potent heating, or a fire with more draw on it (but it was fine once we got it going). Emily's directions, introduction to the cottage and key collection details are very thorough and organised, making staying here really easy.

    Tom2017-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Wundervolles, schönes und gut eingerichtetes Cottage. Alles was man benötigt ist vorhanden. Sehr sauberes Cottage.

  • We had a lovely stay at Niver Dew. The cottage is well-equipped, particularly with kitchen stuff, which is really handy, and has a woodburning stove in the living room, plus a good back-catalogue of DVDs! Emily was very helpful and did everything possible to ensure we had a hassle-free and enjoyable stay, and kindly left us some provisions to get us started and some flowers. The cottage is in a lovely, less touristy location than other spots in Cornwall, and there are some great walks and beaches within easy walking distance of the cottage. We did a loop to Portheras Cove and past the Levant mines which was very enjoyable, especially if you're a Poldark fan! There is a great sea view from the second bedroom in the cottage, and you get some stunning sunsets across the cliffs and old mines from the village. The cottage is well placed for exploring around Land's End and beyond. Penzance, St Michaels Mount and the Minack Theatre / Porthcurno beach are only a 15-20 minute drive away, and there is beautiful and dramatic coastline to explore around Sennen and Lands End. It took a while to get the hang of lighting a fire, but we got there in the end! There are heaters upstairs too so the cold shouldn't be a problem. The internet wasn't working when we were there but I believe is in the process of being fixed, and we had some phone signal / 3G coverage which I wasn't expecting, and was handy for researching things to do! The only thing I would say is the mattress in the main bedroom is rather firm, which I found quite uncomfortable, but I did have a slightly bad back anyway and it may be to other people's tastes!

    Jessica2016-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • It was nice staying here. The cottage is comfortable, the nature is wonderfull. The style of the cottage is old fashioned and you have to like that. There is no Wifi.

  • This was our first Air bnb experience and has now really set the bar high! Nicer Dew is a really lovely home with everything provided. We were really comfortable here and it was a great place to return to after a day out. So many places to eat locally and so much to see and do. Lots of info provided by Emily and though we did not meet her she was fab at communication and prepared the cottage really well. All round a very positive experience!

    Kerry2016-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • On arrival we were extremely pleased with the cottage because it wasn't only cute, cosey and full of character it was also immaculately clean. Emily had also gone the extra mile and had left fresh Lillies on the table and had provided us with some processco for us to see the new year in with. We were also allowed into the cottage early as the cottage was ready for us earlier. We greatly appreciated this as it meant we could get out of the wet weather. Although the weather wasn't great (which was expected) we both agreed that there was no better place to be then in Niver Dew cottage in front of the fire and it was always very welcoming on return from the elements outside. The cottage was well supplied with everything we needed plus more and the bed was very comfy. We thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of our stay and would love to stay in Niver Dew cottage again. We will recommend this place to all friends and family. Thank you very much Emily. Rachel and Ryan

  • Absolutely fantastic place. Couldn't recommend it more highly. Full of character. Comfortable. Peaceful. Next to some amazing Cornish scenery. Home from home

  • We were very happy to light the fire place every evening. During the day we were always on the road to enjoy the lovely landscape and wonderful hikes. We sometimes missed a small spot to sit outside next to the flat. The Dvd collection fully met our taste.

  • Jeremy welcomed us and looked after us so well. We wished we could have stayed longer. We loved the apartment, it was perfect for our little getaway. Very well kept and equipped. Places to eat right around the corner, rugged coastline just a few stone throws away, and quaint towns to explore nearby. Highlights of our exploring were Cape Cornwall, Mousehole (wish we'd seen it at Christmas), Sennen Cove (not least the lifeboat station) . Many things we'd like to come back and see/visit in the summer, including Minack Theatre and of course the beaches. Oh also, it was very quiet in the mornings. We had the longest lie-ins we've had since having children! Very much recommended for a cosy getaway and/or a base for exploring the western-most treats of England.

    Andrew2017-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • We loved both the homeliness complete with homemade brownies and a wood burner all ready for us to use (which we were so grateful for on a day when it didn't stop raining gustily); and the care that had gone in to creating a fascinating arty/crafty space. Jeremy and Rachel were very friendly, helpful hosts and most welcoming. The one tiny drawback was that currently there was no outside sitting space due to gorgeous whippets but this is not a permanent state of affairs, and there is potentially a very lovely garden which they plan to open up to guests.

    Veronica2017-06-06T00:00:00Z
  • Just wonderful! Jeremy and Rachel couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. The place itself was gorgeous and absolutely spotless. Amazing value for money. We would highly recommend it!

    Emily2017-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed here 3 nights, and it was lovely and just as described. Rachel greeted me with homemade gingerbread which was a special touch. I highly recommend!

  • An absolutely beautiful apartment in a quaint village that has everything you need. Although the rooms were rustic looking, the A/V system and wi fi were right up to date. Parking was always available as were our charming hosts. They went out of their way to make our visit pleasant. Nearby are sea cliffs, prehistoric monuments, mining exhibits and the awe inspiring Minnick Theatre. Couldn't be better.

    William2017-09-16T00:00:00Z

  • Up Over Head is in a wonderful, wild location, but within walking distance of a shop, chippy and two pubs. Perfect for two - plenty of space and the property is very well equipped. No good for more than two though due to the configuration. It's great base for exploring the whole of West Cornwall - or just staying put. There are great cliff walks and a beautiful sandy cove in easy walking distance.

I have known Pendeen in West Penwith for 34 years and I think that this is a magical area showing the real Cornwall at it's best . Steeped in mining history amidst a dramatic coastline with glorious sandy beaches and stunning walks to enjoy this area is an ideal choice for a holiday or short break with or without your four legged furry friend. The area is well known for many reasons most recently the fact that it has been used extensively for the filming of the television series Poldark. With Newlyn on the doorstep you will be spoilt for choice in the local pubs and restaurants which serve the freshest of seasonal local produce often including the catch of the day! For theatre lovers an evening at the Minack outdoor theatre is a must. There are also several National Trust properties and gardens in the area and Trengwainton Gardens which is only eight minutes drive from the cottage is well worth a visit . Dogs are permitted in the gardens and there is an excellent restaurant in the old walled garden as well as a National Trust shop. Penzance boasts the newly restored open air Art Deco Jubilee swimming pool which offers a wonderful outdoor swimming experience. • Lovely little cottage near the village of Pendeen. Well located for the SWCP and exploring the far reaches of Cornwall. The village shop, chippy and nice village pub (The North Inn) are about 5-10 minutes walk away. Inside, Dougal's is a nice cosy cottage with a wood burning stove and fireplace, reliable wifi, clean well-equipped small kitchen and downstairs bathroom with bath. Nice cosy cottage for a couple's getaway, many thanks Amanda.

    Peter2016-11-14T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was exactly as described and perfect for our needs. The living room was cosy and the kitchen had everything that we needed...our little girl loved the biscuits that Amanda left for us. The 2 bedrooms were ideal, and we loved waking up, opening the shutters and seeing the lighthouse and sea in the near distance. The location was excellent for us, we could go for a nice walk to the lighthouse and on to a lovely beach at Portheras cove, which was beautiful and unspoilt. It's also convenient for driving to St Ives and Penzance and all other places in west Cornwall. Although we never met Amanda, she responded to our communications immediately. We would highly recommend Dougal's Cottage and would stay there again.

  • Lovely cottage in a beautiful location. We took the walk from the cottage down to secluded Porthmeor cove several times during our stay. Also well located close to St Ives, Lands End, the Minack theatre etc. Hope to return soon!

  • Great cottage in a small village which has a local shop and Chip shop and Pub.

    Tim2017-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • We adored our stay at Dougal's Cottage, so much so, we could have happily moved in! The sea views are magical, we loved popping the shutters each morning and taking in the view (cows included!). The cottage itself is quaint, cosy and very Cornish. We really liked all the nautical interior nods. The cottage is very homely; a lovely mixture of modern, vintage and antique. It was very clean and well equipped. We didn't meet Amanda as she doesn't live near to the property, however, all communication was speedy and helpful and entry to the cottage was a breeze. Pendeen is a lovely part of the world, with loads of great places on its doorstep (Pendeen lighthouse with fantastic views, Mousehole, St Ives and lots of beautiful beaches to name a few) We would happily stay again - don't hestitste - book!

Our light and airy tin miners cottage is a perfect place to relax and a great base for long walks along the breathtaking Atlantic costal path. The local Portheras beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in the area - a secluded vast stretch of pale yellow sand with fantastic lashing waves where seals are often bathing. Local bus into the village to St Ives, St Just and Penzance (St Ives to Lands End open top in summer). The cottage garden attracts plenty of birds and wildlife to enjoy.
A beautiful cosy cottage in an idyllic setting with sea views and a short walk to the costal path. The ground floor has an open-plan design - kitchen, dining area with seating opposite an open fire - perfect for those cosy nights in. Second floor is the bedroom overlooking the long traditional cottage garden, fields (sometimes with cows and calves) and the Atlantic ocean. The bathroom has a roll top bath with shower head - perfect for a long relaxing soak. The cottage is a perfect peaceful place to unwind.
Our road leads downwards towards the sea where a pathway starts that take you onto the South West coast path and breath taking Atlantic Ocean views. BBCs Poldark is filmed nearby. There is a well stocked local shop and 2 pubs all within walking distance. Penzance, Lands End, surfing at Sennen Cove, the Minack Theatre are all a short drive away. Geevor Tin Mine Museum, with a great cafe, Botallack's Queens Arms pub and St Just are all within walking distance along the costal path if you like walking. The costal walk to Zennor is two hours in the other direction. The local beach of Portheras Cove is one of the best secret beaches and is therefore never crowded.

The Old Chapel provides a modern, light and airy open plan living area, in what was the children's Sunday School, with a double bedroom, kitchen and shower room on the ground floor and a twin and a bunk bedroom on the 1st floor. Garden & sea views.
You will be staying in a former Sunday School building, which is attached to a former 'Bible Christian' Chapel. The interior of both buildings was designed and fitted fifteen years ago, creating modern, but quirky holiday accomodation. The Sunday School is fully equipped, easy to live in and entirely self-sufficient.
Though small, Pendeen has its own excellent Shop, a Fish and Chip Shop, 3 Pubs within walking distance, one of which is 20 metres away, and all of which do food. We also have a cafe at Geevor Mining Museum, a Meadery and a small, intimate restaurant, 'The Fieldhouse', which is open on Friday and Saturday evenings.
  • The Old Chappel is a very nice place to be, for some people perhaps a little too calm (although the 2 pubs we had been were very amusing), but perfect for familys with kids... whenever we needed any help, Jill and Geoff lended a hand in teir very likeable way.. 5 stars:)

  • Great location and close to St Ives, the Tin Mines, Cape Cornwall and so on! Very interesting house, with all sorts of unique features. Easy parking and easy access to everywhere while also being a bit hidden away and quiet. Very nice little pub over the road - great views from the lighthouse. Jill and Geoff very friendly and keen to make your stay a good one. Thanks so much!

  • We had a fantastic time staying at The Sunday School. It's a really unusual place to stay and perfect for a family. It was very clean and we couldn't have asked for any more.

  • We loved the accommodation, the fact it was quirky, cosy and so well equipped and that we were given a friendly, relaxed welcome. It was also in a great spot for walks, exploring and good pub food. It really was a gem of a find.

  • This is a perfect place to stay to walk along the SW coastal footpath from St Ives around till Mousehole. Staying here means the car shuttles are never too long . On the first and second day of our walk we could leave one car near Geoff s place and the next day we could walk down the road to the lighthouse at Pendeen Watch to start the next walk, leaving a car again at Geoff s. Its a great home ,really comfortable and a beautiful garden at the back where we ate breakfast in the hot morning sun . And at the end of each day we came back to a great shower (plenty of hot water)This home is in a lovely place and we d love to return one day and do more sightseeing in this beautiful part of Cornwall

Boasting lovely sea views, this charming miner's cottage lies in a Heritage village in the far west of Cornwall. The end one of a row, it has been renovated to a lovely standard, and is located close to the coastal path, which offers excellent walking, pure Atlantic air and a choice of inns en route. This is the area in the far south west where the TV series 'Poldark' is filmed. Stunning scenery abounds, with wonderful opportunities for bird-watching, and due to its location, the surrounding areas offer many sandy coves and excellent scuba diving and surfing at Sennen. There is a working farm down the nearby lane near the cove serving cream teas. Shop 400 yards, two pubs within 800 yards, including an award-winning real ale pub. Portherras Cove is a short walk away by the lighthouse. Beamed living room with electric wood burner. Two steps to dining room/conservatory with ceramic tiled floor. Well-equipped modern kitchen. Two steps down to single bedroom with sea views. Separate toilet. First floor: Double bedroom with sea views. Twin bedroom. Bathroom with over-bath shower and toilet. Outside there is seating and a table for 6 people on the decking. Wifi and Samsung Smart TV with iPlayer catch up and DVD player. Please note: Short breaks are available between October and March only; bookings are for a minimum of seven days between April and September with Saturday being the changeover day.
Pendeen is a world heritage village which was once a thriving tin mining area. Geevor Tin Mine in the village is now a museum with a hard rock cafe. Underground tours. The village is located close to the coastal path and our cottage is towards The Lighthouse (which was deactivated a few years ago, so no noise!). Heathers Coffee shop serves breakfast and light lunches. The Radjel and North Inn pubs are used by the community and serve traditional pub food and real ales. Both Poldark and Rosamunde Pilcher TV series continue to be filmed here each summer.
  • Great cottage, everything you could need is supplied. We stayed as a family of 5 with 2 teenagers, an 11 year old and a dog. Beautiful beach locally, we walked there most days of our stay, white sand, good waves for boogie boarding and dog friendly. Is a bit of a hike cross country but well worth it. St Ives is a great town and The Gunnard Inn, a short drive away, is lovely. Everyone had a great week, something for everyone here. Enjoy.

An authentic shepherd's hut set on a small, coastal sheep farm in West Cornwall. The hut offers a true taste of the life as a bygone shepherd but with a little extra comfort! Dogs welcome.
The Shepherd's Shack is an authentic shepherd's hut that has been built by myself with the help of a few friends. It is based on the traditional design and layout of a Nineteenth Century living van, and has, where possible, been built from recycled and local materials. I hope that you might feel that the resident shepherd has just stepped out to attend to his, or her, flock. The hut has it's own shower room with basin and compost loo. There is a small kitchen area with a gas stove, sink and fridge. Simple cooking equipment is included. The hut is fully insulated with, you guessed it, sheeps wool and is warmed by a wood burning stove. There is a raised box bed, with a pull out dining table, two stools, a small wardrobe and plenty of storage. The bed has a sheep's wool duvet and there is a small sofa in front of the wood burner to keep you warm on cooler nights. The hut is set in its own wee wild flower meadow with beautiful views to the sea and moors. Parking is right next to the hut.
If you love rural living you can come to The Shepherd's Shack and find you don't need to jump in your car. There are many beauiful walks to be had, up on the moors or down to the sea. Visit an Iron Age Fort and Bronze age Quoit just a short stroll up the hill and you might just see a skylark, snipe or red kite. A 20 minute walk will take you into the hamlet of Morvah with its community cafe and gallery. (Morvah is the second smallest parish in England with some 70 residents most of whom are either involved in farming or tourism). A further 20 minutes will bring you to the jewel that is Portheras Cove, much loved by locals and visitors alike. The surrounding area is full of mining and prehistoric sites of interest. It is home to the books of writers such as Rosamund Pilcher, Patrick Gale and Derek Tangey and is a setting for the 1970s and 2015 versions of the Poldark Series. The 2016 independent film, Wilderness, was filmed at the farm. The nearest facilities are 2 miles away in Pendeen which has a grocery store. (open til 8pm), post office, 2 cafes and 2 pubs.
  • A very cute and memorable shepherd's hut. It was a comfortable and rustic place that not only fit but added to our Cornish experience. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Thank-you again .

  • A fantastic stay. Really enjoyed chilling in the hut, and going for long walks along the coastal path

    Martin2017-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had fantastic stay at The Shepard's Hut courtesy of Sarah. It is exactly as described and more. It's very secluded and peaceful with great views of the sea. You're surrounded by the natural beauty of Cornwall and the joys of a working farm (cows, ducks and dog to name a few!) The location is a perfect base for exploring Cornwall; in our car we managed Penzance, St Michaels Mount, Lizard point and St Ives in one day. The place itself is absolutely lovely. Sarah has created a rustic feeling abode but with modern comforts. Such amenities include gas stove/oven, fridge/freezer, hot shower with great water pressure, all necessary cooking equipment (inc bottle opener!) tea/coffee/biscuits/sugar/milk, salt & pepper, cooking oil AND dog biscuits! The place has been well thought out when being built; you'll constantly find nooks and crannies for storage of suitcases, hanging rails for clothes and the pull out dining table. There's a working fire stove that's well stocked and will keep the whole hut toasty and warm well into the night - not that it was needed for our stay at all. Sarah was very welcoming at the agreed time and attentive when contacted. The wild flowers on arrival were a lovely touch to an already fantastic place. I would happily book here again.

  • We stayed at the Shepherd's Shack for 4 nights. Sarah was welcoming and accommodating and the hut was well appointed with everything that you need. The compost toilet and shower in the hut bathroom are both very user-friendly - the bathroom was much bigger than I expected. Everything was clean, with thoughtful extras included like soap, tea bags, milk in the fridge - not something you get everywhere! There were even biscuits for us and the dog too! We ran out of kindling after our second night (we lit the wood burner each night) so bought more but had we seen Sarah sooner, she was going to offer to give us more - we kept ourselves to ourselves but if you need anything, Sarah is more than happy to help! The compost toilet was refreshed after 3 days - this would be our only small critique, it was getting a little full by then but I think it is usually emptied after 2 days and by no means was it a problem. We loved the rural location and how cosy and comfortable we were in the hut, regardless of the weather outside. We explored the coastline in the day time so were only really around at the accommodation for the evening. We ate in for three evenings - it's easy to cook on the stove or in the small oven. We ate at both the Gurnard's Head (at Treen nr St Ives) and The Old Coastguard (Mousehole), both relatively local places not to be missed. I would definitely stay here again, and will tell my friends about it! Thank you so much, Sarah.

  • The Shepherd's Shack looked ideal for our short break and we weren't disappointed. We were only in Cornwall for a few days with our two dogs and needed a base for walks and beach visits. Sarah's shack was perfectly located in beautiful countryside, with walks and beaches in easy reach. Portherras Cove is a great dog-friendly beach if you don't mind a bit of a walk. There are also plenty of great places to eat nearby - The Gurnard's Head and Jeremy's Fish & Chips get thumbs up from us! The shack is small, but perfectly formed. The bed was comfortable and had a great view over the open fields to the sea. The sunset was just incredible. We ended up eating out, but the kitchen had everything we needed to make a decent meal if we'd wanted. The shower was great after a long day's hike. Sarah's clearly given a lot of thought to the decor and all of the finishing touches come together to make the place stylish and really comfortable. Sarah was welcoming and gave us all the information we needed to get settled and comfortable. It was great to know that she was on hand if we needed anything, but we had the space to get on and do our own thing. There's no mobile signal (O2) or wifi, but we enjoyed the digital detox. Sarah kindly offered us use of the wifi in the farmhouse if we needed it. In all, I'd thoroughly recommend the shack and Morvah in general. Hopefully we'll be back ourselves.

  • Sarah's Shepherds shack is a delightful escape from everyday life. It has everything you need, and has been lovingly restored, a real unique little gem.

    Charlene2017-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • If you want a true escape to a simple stress-free life for your weekend away with no wifi, TV or stresses of the modern world - this is the break for you. You will most likely not get signal on site - but if you’re anything like us, this was a preference. We were very lucky in being the first guests in the shack, and were blown away by the level of quality which made our weekend perfect. We planned to go to the beach all day, but we returned early afternoon as we forgot important items, planning to return to the beach, but decided to spend the day at the shack - enjoying the sun, views and peacefulness of the site and the shacks amenities. It is the perfect getaway for two, everything you need is there and is compact, tidy and beautifully designed. Sarah has gone to great effort to use the space efficiently such as the kitchen space - which is a small hob, kitchen side, large sink, plus the fold out table. Additionally, the fine details such as the curtains (and rails), the bedding, crockery choice are homely and cosy, whilst in keeping with the laid-back feel and simplicity of shack-life. The bed is very comfortable and surprisingly spacious - I was expecting a smaller bed, you also have a lovely view of the beach at your feet in the morning :) Sitting in the garden is peaceful as all you hear occasionally the cows but mostly the surrounding wildlife. I was surprised to learn that there was hot water too - all the luxuries of home in a tidy, cosy space. Sarah is an outstanding host. She had been texting us very clear directions to ensure us a straight forward and easy arrival on our way over. When we arrived (almost an hour behind schedule) in the evening, she had also boiled the kettle and lit the wood burner ready for us to get cosy upon arrival. Additionally, she left us a pint of milk from her cows in the fridge, which we enjoyed the next day at breakfast! She came and checked up on us, and is such a warm and welcoming person who really cares about your experience enjoying the countryside but still gives you plenty of privacy. She’s only round the corner and is happy to help in any way - even though all our needs were completely met, and more.
We very much wish to return to the shack soon - and have been craving the getaway since, reminiscing about it. We recommend go whilst the weathers nice as it’s only a twenty minute walk to the coast - but if not I would still return definitely in cooler seasons as it's such a sweet place. I highly recommend Sarah and the shack to anyone, especially those craving and escape from work related stress or the business of city life. We couldn't fault it in any way, and really hope...

This delightful cottage occupies one wing of a previously working farmhouse and is quiet and isolated with superb views of the north coast and moors. Perfect for a couple looking for an escape to this wild part of Cornwall, this beautiful granite property can also accommodate up to 4 people.
The property, previously a working farm, is quiet and isolated with superb views of the north coast and moors. It is perfect for a couple or a group of up to 4 people to base themselves to explore this wild area of west Cornwall. The St Just area has a rich mining heritage and has now been designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The cottage, part of this beautiful granite constructed farmhouse, is surrounded by the dramatic landscape of the West Cornwall peninsula. It is full of character with beamed ceilings, thick stone walls and a Morso wood burning stove to keep you cosy at the colder times. The master bedroom has both moorland and sea views, has a king sized bed and en-suite WC. The twin bedroom has garden views. Accommodation Ground Floor: Sitting room with dining area. Fitted kitchen; bathroom with bath and electric shower and separate WC. First Floor: Master double bedroom with en-suite WC and wash basin, and twin bedroom. External: Access is provided to part of the gardens. Facilities & Services Oil fired central heating throughout, supplemented by the wood burning stove (initial bag of logs included). The kitchen has a range of modern fitted units, a gas cooker, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble drier and a family sized fridge with a good freezer compartment. The sitting room has a flatscreen TV with Sky Freeview (you may bring your own card for additional channels) and a DVD player. DAB radio in each bedroom. There is garden furniture and a BBQ in your garden. Miscellaneous Electricity (reasonable usage allowed for), bed linen & towels are all included, but you will need to provide your own beach towels. There is plenty of parking space available at the property. Infinity Broadband is available at the property. We regret no smoking is permitted within the property. Regrettably, no children under 5 nor dogs are allowed to stay within the property at Higher Trewellard Hill Farm. Please note that access to Higher Trewellard Hill Farm is via an unmade farm track. General Booking Information Arrival / Departure is a Saturday. Short breaks are available during quieter periods. £100 pre-authorised to your credit or debit card as a security deposit is required.
Pendeen village has a general stores and Post office and there are four local pubs serving food. Three of these, as well as the Meadery and takeaway fish and chips, are within five minutes drive or a 20 minute walk down the hill. The small town of St Just is about 3 miles away which has shops including two butchers, a bakery and art galleries. Penzance is 7 miles away for more shops (including two supermarkets), art galleries and restaurants. Portherras Cove is a small beach about two miles from the cottage. There are steps down to the beach but no disabled or wheelchair access and it has no public facilities. Marazion, next to Penzance, has a beach much used for wind surfing and a low tide causeway to St. Michael's Mount (N.T.); access by taxi boat at other times. There is surfing at Sennen (approx 7 miles), walks in all directions along the S.W. coast path, and riding at St Just. Geevor Mine (Pendeen village) and Zennor Wayside Museum (7 miles) show Cornish history; St Ives (13 miles along the beautiful north coast road) has galleries including the Tate, the Hepworth museum and the Leach pottery. An open top bus goes from Pendeen village to St Ives three times a day which saves parking in St Ives. Porthcurno has an excellent beach with all facilities, as well as the Minack outdoor theatre and the Cable & Wireless Telegraph museum. Penzance has Trengwainton (N.T.), Morrab and Penlee gardens, the latter also housing a collection of work from the Lamorna and Newlyn artists in Penlee House. St Just-in-Penwith, once the centre of the tin mining industry in this area, is the westerly most town in Cornwall, last stop before Lands End. Geevor Tin Mine was the last to close in 1991 and reopened in 1993 as a Museum and Heritage Centre. At Lands End, the most South Westerly point of mainland Britain, sits many a tourist attraction. If you're lucky, of a clear evening, you will be able to see the stunning Isles of Scilly on the horizon. From nearby Penzance you can take the Scillonian for a day trip to the picturesque Isles of Scilly, well worth a visit if you have never been. Slightly further afield is Marazion famous for St Michaels Mount, home to a medieval castle and a working local community. St Michaels Mount is accessible by causeway at low tides, or by boat. The castle is leased from the National Trust by the St Aubyn family who reside at the property maintaining and working the grounds. Mousehole is renowned for their Christmas Lights display attracting many visitors throughout December. The Tate, St Ives a short drive away combined with the Barbara Hepworth Museum provide a benchmark for local galleries and artists, attracting many visitors to the area throughout the seasons.
  • We had a lovely week at this property. It is in a breathtakingly beautiful location and waking up to views over the old mines and the ocean felt like a gift. There's a public footpath to the village and the pub there (the Trewellard Arms) serves great food and has a vast array of different beers. The owners of the cottage live next door and they were immensely helpful and accommodating. They really care about their home and their guests. The cottage has everything you might need and we all felt at home there. The cream tea on arrival made for a great welcome and we also enjoyed probably the best gluten free lemon drizzle cake ever made by the cottage owner's neighbour. The Penwith Peninsula is wild and a little unkempt but I think it is one of the most beautiful places in England and being there is really good for the soul - birdsong, wild flowers and a sky full of stars.

  • Clean and nicely decorated. And I mean the nicely decorated bit, too many cottages try for garish style, it was nice to stay somewhere that kept it simple and tasteful. The area is beautiful and there is lots to do just a short drive away

  • What an absolutely amazing place. I can honestly say this is one of the most beautiful places I have ever stayed in, in such wonderful surroundings. We had a lovely welcome and seven of seven of the most relaxing days, with breathtaking walks and scenery. We would highly recommend Honeypot Cottage, and as others have said it is a real home from home. We will certainly return, thank you so much Sarah.

  • Honey Pot cottage was great! The key was left in a safe place for us on arrival which worked perfectly as we arrived very late. We came to surf and with a car there are lots of nearby spots to explore and a pub only a few minutes walk away for a relaxing pint afterwards. The cottage had a really cosy feel even on a cold November weekend!

    chloe2017-11-28T00:00:00Z
  • Immaculate and very comfortable house, very well equipped and plenty of space in which to relax. Honeypot Cottage is extremely well placed being only a 10 minute walk from the coastpath, right by a bus stop and within minutes of a pub on foot and of St Just by car. All the places of interest in this lovely part of the world - Penzance, St Ives, Lands End, Sennen and other beaches etc - are within easy reach. Sarah and Mike are delightful and generous hosts - there were flowers, biscuits and wine on the table when we arrived, plus tea, coffee and milk for the first cuppa - who tactfully disappeared after their first welcome. We shall definitely return and would recommend staying here to anyone looking to visit the area.

  • Honeypot Cottage is beautiful! It is an ideal getaway and is a perfect place to explore the Cornish scenery from. The cottage is spotless and has everything you could ever need. Sarah came round to introduce herself when we first arrived and made us feel very welcome. We knew how to contact her if we had any questions but had complete privacy during the trip. The cottage has been very well thought out and we really enjoyed having a log burner with plenty of wood provided. We could not recommend this cottage more highly!

  • Lovely cottage feel, beautiful place. Practical.

  • Beautiful and cost little cottage in the perfect location. Near enough to St Ives and other towns and beaches on the West Coast for day trips, but secluded enough to avoid all the other tourists and go for quiet walks straight from the house. We absolutely loved it.

  • Juliet's Rose Cottage is beautiful, the decor is lovely and it is a great place for a family to stay. It is a close drive to Penzance, St Ives and St Just and is around a 30 minute walk to St Just. Juliet was a wonderful host and went out of her way to make us feel welcome. We all had a great stay.

Pearl is a lovely gypsy caravan, furnished with great attention to details located in our wild camping site.
The campsite is in West Penwith and it is formed of 4 independent pitches, all offering different camping and glamping solutions. Pearl is fully furnished: it comprises of a double bed/sleeping area, a private and separate kitchen cabin, garden table and chairs for dining. Compost toilets and warm gas powered showers present on site for communal use. We have 3 compost toilets in total and 2 showers to share within 4 pitches. When the weather is not so good it is possible to use a communal covered kitchen area at the campsite. Within the campsite it is possible to take a walk in the woodlands and the wild life reserve where numerous birds come to nest in different times of the year. Whether you are a single person, a couple looking for a quiet time and wanting to spend time in nature, this is the place for your holiday in Cornwall. All pitches are spaced at least 50m apart amongst a typically cornish landscape right in the heart of West Penwith (near St. Just). Ideal for those on a walking/cycling holiday, or those wanting a more off-grid, authentic camping experience. We are proud that no vehicles are allowed in the camping field (there is a allocated parking field near by) and there are no electric hook ups.
We ask people to respect private properties around the campsite, if you have any questions please contact us directly. There are many attractions near by that can make your holiday even more interesting.
  • The gypsy caravan was wonderfully cosy and with our own well-equipped kitchen in a separate cabin, we had everything we needed. Fran and Greg were friendly and helpful from start to finish, and even helped us through some initial hiccups in getting there. The location is incredibly beautiful, with the wild cliffs of the North coast, Portherras beach, the town of St Just, and a handful of sacred sites all within walking distance. All in all I would highly recommend!

Lillie's Lookout has great views out to sea, and in land. Own garden. A fantastic base for exploring the fascinating west Cornwall on foot, by bike, or in the car. The pub is a few minutes walk, and the facilities of St Just are only 10 minutes walk. You’ll love Lillie's because of the outdoors space, the neighbourhood, and the light. While it's only 30 meters square it's ample space for a couple. The cabin is ideal for couples, solo travellers, and there's room for a babe in arms, or you dog.
  • Lille's lookout really is as beautiful as it looks. Perfect for my son and I. We shall miss waking up in the morning, having breakfast outside, looking out at the sea. And also the cosy nights in on the sofa with a film and blanket. The location is perfect, there is so much to do nearby, St Michaels mount, Marazion Beach, Sennen Cove, The Minnack theatre, Flambards and Lands End. We had a fantastic time and most of it was down to this wonderful accommodation. Highly recommended, we shall be staying here again.

  • This is a really delightful place to stay: cosy but lovely and light, thoughtfully equipped with high quality fittings, quiet/private and amazing views and garden. I definitely hope to return. A great place to stay at any time of the year

  • We had a fabulous time in lillie's lookout, even getting a day when we could read books outside in the sunshine despite it being the end of november. We loved the cottage and how cosy and compact it was. It had everything we needed and was a very relaxing place to be. Kelvin had sent lots of details of things to do locally and we especially enjoyed the folk music in the star inn on the Monday night. We'd love to come back to lillie's in the summer as we felt very relaxed and at home here.

  • What a lovely place to stay. Well equipped, with lots of outside seating areas and spaces to watch the sea. There's not many places round the cabin you cant see the sea. The views were amazing, the space perfect for two and a dog. We had a really good stay and loved the cabin. Thanks for having us:-)

  • This is a great place to stay. The views are beautiful and the cabin is lovely. The quality of the cabin is excellent and we really enjoyed our time there. St Just is lovely too and the info provided by the hosts is really helpful. Coastal walks are great and we really enjoyed the café called the Rabbit and Dog. Definitely recommend staying here. Thanks for a lovely trip.

  • We had a wonderful stay in Lily's Lookout. It was really cosy and had everything we needed. There were some lovely touches such as milk, biscuits and fresh flowers. The kitchen was so well equipped that we ended up cooking dinner every night rather than venturing out in the cold! Highly recommend this accommodation. Kelvin provided really helpful advice and Di was very friendly when we bumped into her. We would love to come back and stay in the summer.

Gorgeous little hideaway escape on the North Coast of West Cornwall; a peaceful and characterful ‘one up-one down’ with a small private patio garden, conservatory and fabulous sunset sea views stretching West to the Isles of Scilly.
Previously a blacksmith’s workshop and a writer’s retreat, Number Twelve provides a perfect hideaway bolthole from which to get off the beaten track and explore the unique magic of West Penwith. Downstairs is a fully appointed kitchen with fridge, two ring mini oven and grill, washing machine, sink and microwave. The comfortable sitting/dining area has a woodburning stove recessed into the huge granite fireplace. The spiral staircase leads up to a completely refurbished, light and airy bedroom with a double shower en-suite. The sea views can be enjoyed from the new double bed or the window-seat and can be spectacular, particularly at sunset.
The cottage is close to some of the most spectacular beaches in NW Europe including Portherras, Pedn Vounder, Sennen and Porthcurno. It is just a 10-minute walk to the rugged cliffs and to join the coast-path at Levant. Walks all around the local area are stunning and the area is particularly good for bird watching and wildlife. Number Twelve is situated off the legendary B3306, St Ives to St Just road, one of the most scenic routes in Europe – which is also a well served bus route. There is a well stocked local shop a short walk away in Pendeen and veggies and eggs can be picked up from the nearby community farm. There are several pubs within very easy walking distance plus others very near that are highly renowned on the wider stage for food, beer or live traditional music sessions. The Minack Theatre, Lands End, St Michaels Mount, Mousehole, Porthcurno Telegraph Museum and Cape Cornwall are all close by. The main local market town of Penzance, is ten minutes away by car and is noted for its galleries, parks, promenade and shops. Newlyn and Penlee House Galleries, Tate St Ives, the Barbara Hepworth Sculpture Garden and Bernard Leach Pottery are all easily accessible, as are some great public gardens. The property lies within the Mining World Heritage site and, the NT's Levant Mine and Beam Engine and Geevor Mining Museum, Botallack Count House and the breathtaking Crowns Engine House situated in the cliff-side are all within a short walk.
  • We absolutely loved Jude's place. Very homely and comfortable. Accurately described and bigger than I thought that it would be. Jude has great taste. Was great to have the wood burner going in the evening and the views from the bedroom amazing. Exceptionally clean. Jude's directions were easy to follow and instructions on how to use the wood burner really helpful. The recommendations meant that we discovered some beautiful places too. This is a great location and was lovely to walk down the country lane and watch the amazing sunsets. Also drive to nearby beaches for a splash about in the sea. Great communication with Jude and exceptional value. We didn't want to leave and would love to stay again when we return to Cornwall(URL HIDDEN)

  • We spent 3 days at Jude's house and it was fantastic experience. House itself is very clean, cosy and has got great woodburner that made our evenings quite unique. Jude left us a folder with information about all local attractions which was very helpful. We had very good contact with her so we felt comfortable throughout the whole trip to Cornwall. Thank you Jude.

  • We had a wonderful time staying at this beautiful cottage. It is even lovelier than the pictures. Small but cosy with the log-fire burning and beautifully presented - perfect for couples really. The location was handy for getting to Penzance (about 10 minutes away) and the coast, and I loved the sea views. It's only minutes from the Levant Mine too which was nice. I'd definitely stay here again. Many thanks Jude for making it all so easy and for letting us stay!

    Emma2015-05-12T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely welcoming pretty cottage with everything that you could need. Close to cliff tops and with a view of the sea from the bedroom windows and a sunny conservatory. Jude left info about beaches, cafes, pubs etc so that even though I've been to the area several times I discovered new places. I was sad to leave and would love to go back.

    Cath2015-05-23T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay. Communication before hand went smoothly and so did everything else. The place is tiny and very cute, would definitely stay there again! Jude put very much love and detail into the decoration which makes it very cosy. She also had a massive folder with tips on what to do in the area which was great! Perfect little getaway, thank you!

    Svenja2014-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • Jude's cottage is lovely and cosy and we had a great few days staying there. There is a booklet of useful information regarding the cottage, as well as local leaflets and guides. The wood burning stove was great and made for a cosy evening in. The location is convenient for visiting St Ives, Lands End and Penzance. We would definitely like to stay here again if we return to Cornwall!

  • The apartment was a perfect little base to access the wonders of west Cornwall, as well as being situated in a unique corner of the region itself. With easy access to a plethora of nature walks, beaches and historical towns, this cosy little retreat will not run short of things to do for the keen explorer. The apartment itself was clean tidy and full of character, it may seem small to those used to spacious homes, but for us was the ideal size for our little family (and probably not much smaller than our compact London flat!). As a host, Jude is was the definition of "going that extra mile". She left us a book full of her local pearls of wisdom and gave us 2 sets of directions to the apartment, one being a scenic route - which if you have time I would definitely recommend! A magical experience had by all.

    Jennifer2014-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • Very cosy cottage! Everything was to feel welcome and at home! Would give 12 of 10 oints..Wish Jude all the best!!

  • Absolutely great cottage, perfect for families and couples. Equipped kitchen and cosy lounge with wood burning stove and TV. Great location and parking, and walking distance to pubs, local shop and mine and lighthouse. Will definitely be visiting again soon!

  • Really good location with views over the fields and out to sea, close to local ammenaties and good local pubs also close to the coastal path and the engine houses on the cliffs. The cottage is very nicely decorated and very clean with lots of nice little details (Cornish slate tea coasters) I really liked the owners guide on where to catch the best wave, I just wish I could surf haha.A log burner in the living room makes it all very cosy. Also the comfiest bed I have ever slept it' five stars would highly recommend!

  • A lovely cottage in a quiet part of Cornwall within easy reach of Lands End and Penzance. It was really clean and well furnished; great for a family or couple to feel at home in. The organisation was very good and Cai responded quickly to any queries. I would certainly consider booking the cottage again in the future. Thank you Cai for the cream tea on arrival! What a special welcoming surprise.

  • We absolutely loved our stay at the cottage! A perfect home away from home and a great location for nature walks and access. The space was clean and spacious and mostly well appointed. Need to bring bathroom essentials like shampoo etc. The fire place and 2 bags of free wood was so lovely for our holiday. CAI was super easy to communicate with. We had total privacy for our 9 day stay. Nothing but good things to say really. Would definitely return!

  • This was a really good sized property and ideal for our family of 4. The house is in a very quiet street, but is walkable to the nearest pub and not far from St Just which has more pubs/shops etc and is very pretty. We were welcomed by some very interested cows in the fields in front of the house (and a delicious afternoon tea inside - thank you) when we arrived. The carpets were new and there were ample towels for our needs. Would have no hesitation in recommending

  • I cannot speak more highly of Diana and her lovely home. She was incredibly warm, welcoming and attentive, and she recommended lots of great walks and beaches for us. We were searching for some peace in the countryside and some good long walks, and this place was perfect! You can walk to St Just in 25 minutes or a further 10 minutes to reach the sea and the beautiful Cape Cornwall. It was a perfect location for discovering the local area - stunning beaches all within 20-40 minutes drive and all you need for pubs and shops in St Just. I would really recommend this place. Thank you for everything, Di! We wish you all the best and we very much hope one day to come back!

  • My partner, baby girl (8 months) and I stayed at Diana`s for three nights. Thanks to the detailed directions provided, we found our location easily. Diana gave us a warm welcome and showed us around the apartment. We were delighted to find some breakfast in the fridge waiting for us. The apartment is an ideal size for a family of three. We brought our own equipment for the baby, as we were informed in advance that there were no facilities for babies. It is situated in a central location, ideal for exploring the South and West of Cornwall. We would like to thank Diana for our stay, we had a fabulous first family holiday together.

The Farmhouse Barn is a newly renovated property in an idyllic setting. It is very peaceful and quiet, in the middle of rolling countryside with far reaching views and a stream running alongside the farmhouse. Guests benefit from their own garden area, parking and private entrance. The Barn is about 3 miles from St Just. The surrounding area is perfect for coastal walks, it is close to some magnificent beaches such as Sennen and great for visiting places like the Minack and Cape Cornwall.
The kitchenette and lounge area in the Barn are upstairs so you can benefit from the amazing views. It is light and warm with a very retro feel, furnished with restored cupboards from the 40's and a few other lovely finds from that era. The shower room and bedroom are downstairs, both very spacious. They have a more modern décor.
Lower Bostraze is tucked away, far from any built up area. There is no noise other than some bird calls, the stream and the breeze or of course strong winds in bad weather! On a busy day, there might be tractor in the distance or a plane flying across to the Scillies! The nights are very dark which makes for amazing star-gazing on a clear evening but if it is foggy or wet and raining, the Barn is a warm and cosy retreat!
  • Everything about our stay was simply perfect. Mary-Ann was a fantastic host, she was always there to lend a hand if we needed it and provide advice on where to go. The annex is amazing and beautifully decorated, we loved it and on top of this, it has amazing views and scenery to wake up to. Despite being in a quiet area, it is still in a perfect location to get around to other places in Cornwall, which are only a short driving distance away. Do not think twice about booking with Mary-Ann, as you will not be disappointed! X

  • Mary-Ann's place was amazing...top-notch! It was a beautiful sanctuary in the most spectacular setting and lovely views. The place was just beautiful and I would highly recommend it to all travelers. My best Airbnb experience yet, absolutely the best!

  • Property - perfect Location - perfect Hospitality - perfect Lovely stay in Cornwall, the property is situated in scenic settings, located in close proximity to all the major attractions the region has to offer. Mary-Ann had a homemade chocolate cake and jam waiting for us on arrival - faultless hosting. Well worth a stay, excellent value for money.

  • Can't speak highly enough of this place, really good quality accommodation, and a perfect base for exploring the many lovely places in West Cornwall. Mary-Ann was extremely welcoming and it felt like a home from home.

  • This place is a home away from home! Beautifully furnished and tastefully decorated with a great retro/vintage air - Danish hygge included. We had the honour - & incredible luck!!- to be the first guest in this gem and got so spoiled by Mary-Ann, who is just the perfect host: Not only did we find cookies, butter, jam, milk & fresh bunches of flowers on our arrival. Mary-Ann also gave us several lifts during our stay, which was very helpful, as we (me & my two kids) were traveling on public transport. Definitely our best accommodation so far!! Perfect for those who seek peace & quiet to unwind or rest from hikes and for vintage lovers of course. We will come back for sure!

  • A beautifully renovated barn and a lovely host made for a perfect few days down in Cornwall. The accommodation was spot on and Mary-Ann provided anything extra we required. A gem in a wonderful part of the world.

The cottage is a small but beautiful terraced miners cottage renovated and furnished very simply . Tregeseal is a charming quiet sheltered hamlet , ten minutes walk from St Just , and within easy walking distance of the moors or the stunning coastal footpath .
  • This is a quaint cottage that retains its charm. If you’re after a hotel then this is not the place. It’s clean and presentable, with the quirky ness that comes with it. The fire is the main form of heating, but it’s enough to heat the whole house without issue. There is enough room for 3 and parking for a single car. The local shops are plentiful and a 5 Mim car ride away.

  • We stayed at Joseph's cottage for 4 days. It's a lovely place surrounded by nature. We had a great time in this really quiet location, just five minutes walk from St Just centre. We enjoyed all the coastal walks, espetially the near Cape Cornwall. Joseph has been really friendly and his hospitality was exceptional (he also allowed us to bring our sausage dog). The overall experience has been fantastic and I would highly recommend his cottage!!

    Angelica2017-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • Very lovely cornish house, located in quiet road, close to the lovely town of St Just and coastline attractions. We did not meet Joseph but he arranged all, to allow us to get in the house easily with all what we need. We felt like at home. Raccomended

  • A smashing little cottage with all one would need-fire -shower -comfortable beds-cooking facilities and delightful gardens. Would definitely recommend.

  • Amazing holiday in Cornwall and a lovely stay in St Just. The cottage has everything you need (great kitchen, good bathroom, confortable bedroom, cosy living room).. We felt at home since the beginning. It was nice to go back in the cottage after a surf session and relax in the garden or the sofa in the living room. Lot of relax time!

  • Charming, cosy, well equipped; very much a home away from home

  • This is an old cottage in a quiet spot but a short walk into St Just which is now a bustling small town with plenty of cafes etc..The gardens back and front are sunny and sheltered and it is an ideal place to bring a dog. We found it an ideal center to explore West Penwith. Joe was a very hands on owner and anxious to solve any problem we had. We hope to come back

  • This lovely cottage is situated in a quiet no through road leading to beautiful walks and historic sites. It is comfortably furnished in keeping with its age and character and everything we needed was provided. It has a lovely sunny garden with seating at both the front and back. It is a short easy walk away from beautiful St Just, mainly via surfaced footpath where there are shops and pubs. We loved its rustic charm and homeliness and would definitely stay there again

My house is set in a beautiful valley next to a stream with great views from the garden. Its a 5 minute walk away from the gorgeous village of St Just which has everything you need from a post office and a supermarket (open till 10pm every day) to a farmers market and pubs/restaurants serving good grub and live music. The coast is 15mins walk down the valley and you're about 20mins drive from quality surf breaks at Sennen and Gwenvor. The house is ideal for couples although it sleeps three.
  • The place is lovely, in a quiet neighborhood with very nice and friendly people around. It is a great place for anyone who enjoys walks and beautiful scenery, and those who are looking for some peace and fresh air. It is close to some of the main attractions on the west side of Cornwall. Overall, we were very happy with the experience; the cottage is very comfortable, clean, and we found it to be ideal for a couple looking for a quiet and romantic retreat.

  • David's place is set in idealic surroundings. It is just a 7/8 mins walk up the hill, to St.Just. It's a stones throw from several superb walks and craggy coastline, that's dotted with old wheal houses and mines! All in all a great place to stay for peace n quiet and exploring the local scenery and area.

    Dan2017-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • Great cottage. Would definitely stay there again.

    Mal2017-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • David's place is a lovely terraced stone cottage just on the outskirts of St Just - comfortable and well equipped. It's in the perfect spot for walking and exploring the wild Cornish coast, just a few minutes away from the coastal footpath with all it's raw landscapes and old mining ruins. We enjoyed wild windy weather and sat watching huge surf on Portheras Cove, as well as swimming in calmer waves on Porth Nanwen. The Atlantic Coaster open top bus stops just at the end of David's street, so it's perfect if you are on public transport as we were. Everything was very easy and friendly from the communication in advance and finding the place/keys etc. There is no running hot water but a great hot electric shower and we didnt miss the hot water at all. Excellent fast wifi if you need it. And the kitchen is well equipped. Perfect for 2-3 people, a family with a child, or just a couple like us. It's a short uphill walk into the centre of St Just so if you are infirm and dont have a car it might not be for you. If you like ancient stones and monuments, the Tregeseal stone circle is about a half hour walk away (you need a map and wellies if its been raining), and the Ballowall Barrow is a roofless but well preserved stone barrow between the lovely Cape Cornwall and Porth Nanwen. Thanks for sharing your place David!

  • David was there to welcome us, show us round and give us useful information about the locality. He cottage is delightful, comfortable, well equipped, beautifully decorated and extremely quiet. The location is wonderful, view gorgeous, shops and amenities in the village excellent. Walks from the cottage are spectacular and it is in easy reach by car of a lot of lovely places.

    Judith2016-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was lovely, on a quiet lane just outside of st just. Just a walk away for the shops or some fish and chips! Good central location for all the nice beaches and walks. The cottage was clean and newly renovated, with a lovely quaint front garden to relax in. David kept in good contact before our arrival. Just a note: we bought a radio for the evenings as there's no tv or tech - not a problem and made for a relaxing screen free break (house does have wifi) All in all a great house in a great location!

    Bethan2017-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • David's cottage is a lovely space with a beautiful outlook over the fields and up to the village which is a short walk away. The garden is a fantastic sun trap and full of birds. David was away but we were warmly hosted by his friend Louise who responded quickly to a couple of queries we had during our weeks stay. The walk straight out of the front gate and down the stream valley to the sea is lovely and there are many other beautiful coastal walks and beaches a short drive or bus ride away. All in all it was perfect for us and our 16 month old- whilst it isn't listed as being suitable for young children as long as you can cope with the stairs having open access and a few accessible cupboards in the kitchen it was otherwise a safe space. The second bedroom had plenty of space for a travel cot and only a small window with a good blind so it's pretty dark. The garden is enclosed with a locking gate although it does open straight onto the road. We had a very enjoyable week and would happily return.

  • Delightful, small cottage on the edge of St Just which is more charming than the pictures show. Fresh, contemporary decor and comfortable, clean furnishings. You get the morning and evening sun to sit out front (when the sun shines!) and a line out back to dry clothes. Lovely little stream lined with flowers which you can follow down to the bay. Great cliff walks to Cape Cornwall or Botallack. A short walk up the hill or across the fields to St Just, a real hub of activity, with plenty of pubs, cafes (you have to find the Dog and Rabbit - tucked away), galleries, bookshops, great butchers and bakery. Visit Newlyn early for fresh sea food, the Newlyn arts cinema is great for a rainy day and lots of galleries. Perfectly placed cottage to visit both the north and more sheltered south coast beaches, Pedn Vounder at Treen (Logan's Rock) is the best beach in the world and Porthgwarra a fascinating, tiny fishing harbour with tunnels through the rocks! You have to visit Mousehole (best to walk from Lamorna) and the Minack Theatre, cut into the rock. Very friendly and helpful neighbours; in fact everyone was incredibly friendly. Didn't meet David but he was always helpful and accommodating over email. A lovely, small, very quiet place to stay. Simple but not roughing it at all. Hot shower is all you need and lack of hot running water not really an issue.

The Barn provides self-contained accommodation in Tregeseal, a picturesque valley in the far west of Cornwall. It is a ten minute walk to the small coastal town of St Just which has excellent shops, pubs, art galleries, cafes. It is perfect for couples or individuals providing an open plan living and kitchen area, a separate wet room and a mezzanine sleeping area. It has an enclosed court yard and garden space. Access is by a side lane and there is street parking outside the property.
Electricity is included and heating is by a wood-burning stove. Duvets, pillows and bed linen are provided. Please note that I generally ask you to bring your own towels. There is no TV but wi-fi is available. There is a fridge, a microwave and a cooker with a hob. The sleeping area (double bed) is accessed by a narrow, steep staircase which may not be suitable for people with mobility issues. I am happy for you to bring well behaved dogs but do ask that they are not left alone or go onto the furniture. A dog sitting service may be available. The Barn is in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is a World Heritage Site due to its mining history. It is perfect for walkers, birdwatchers, painters and for all who appreciate the coastline and beaches of West Penwith. The surfing beaches of Sennen and Gwenvor are about fifteen minutes’ drive. St Ives and the Tate Gallery, Geevor Mine, Penzance, Newlyn and Mousehole are also within an easy drive. There will be no extra charge for cleaning but I do ask that you leave The Barn neat and tidy. I’m always happy to answer any questions by email or phone.
  • Pip was brilliant from beginning to end. She was informative, communicative and left us to our own devices once we were there, whilst remaining on hand if needed. The place was a short walk from St Just, the SW Coast path and less than 10 miles to Sennen and only a few more to St Ives. The place itself was great for the two of us and our furry friend. Whilst being smaller than I expected from the photos, it's a fantastic use of space and for a guy that is over 6ft, the mezzanine bedroom was perfectly manageable for a few nights. The wood burner was great and the kitchen really well equipped with complimentary tea and coffee, couldn't have asked for more!

    Tristan2017-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • Visited to be close to Wheale Owles, and we really were! The Barn is very small but is fine if you're out all day. You have to be careful on the stairs and even though we're small we banged our heads a couple of times. Pip was really helpful during the stay and before.

    Jodie2017-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • First and foremost your host Pip is such a lovely lady. Really welcoming, friendly and helpful, she gave us some great suggestions for what to see and despite me not noticing that TOWELS ARE NOT PROVIDED she provided some for us all the same upon asking. Nice one! The building is definitely designed for the physically able, a nice use of space to get a mezzanine in but those steps can be a little tricky especially at 3am if you need the toilet! The upstairs is also not designed for someone of my 6"3' stature but it wasn't a problem. Good kitchen facilities although the electrics tended to blow if we had the kettle, oven and hob on, but the circuit board was easily accessible to remedy that. Nice little garden which we managed to have breakfast in once thanks to the weather that I can't blame Pip for. It is enclosed which is perfect when you need to send your dog out to the toilet. St Just (which is minutes walk away) is very nice, we specifically wanted a place in this area as it is easy to get to all the best bits of Cornwall, at least as far as we'd been recommended, and it didn't disappoint. There's also a good bus service from St Just which we used for a trip to St Ives. Thanks for a great trip Pip!!

  • St. Just is a great location to explore south Cornwall. Pip was an excellent host, giving us tips and making our stay even better. The house is in a quiet, beautiful location, facing the hill with plenty of natural light. It is well equipped to make the stay comfortable. Perfect stay for a Cornwall getaway. Highly recommended!

  • Lovely secluded quiet barn with great facilities including good WiFi and lovely log burner. Just a few minutes walk from St Just and near the Sw coast path for fantastic views of the cornish coast and tin mines .

  • Having the barn for ourselves was lovely and intimate. Pip was available if we needed anything. We were able to buy more wood from Pip after using up what was made available in the barn. Great hide away for us within walking distance to St Just shops. I'll be back anytime I need a break.

Astenersi introversi e perfettini.

  • Mary greeted us with a cup of tea and fruitcake. My husband had developed a bad cold and did not feel well enough to walk the next day. She allowed us to stay and very kindly took us to our next Airbnb. She was great to talk to and a lovely lady.

  • Mary was very welcoming. A really good shower, comfy bed and a nice breakfast. Mary was also very helpful with local information on sights to see. It was just like popping in to see a friend! Pendeem is a wonderful small town with great rides and very located in Cornwall, near St. Just e St. Ives and Cape Cornwall, wonderful places to meet.

  • We came to hike along the coast. We walked to Cape Cornwall. We walked to St. Ives. It is very beautiful there. Really the whole coastal road! There is a busstop in the village to St. Ives and to St. Just. The cottage of Mary is a good starting point. Do not expect luxury, it's just a basic room. But Mary's hospitality is fantastic.

    Coast Path break near Portheras

Ideal for walking holidays, and close to wonderful beaches and amenities. Recently decorated and refurbished with WIFI. Beautiful countryside, just 10 mins walk from the coast path. It has a relaxing rear garden that faces West towards the ocean.
This is a modern, recently refurbished and redecorated semi detached house with beautiful views across the fields to the Atlantic Ocean. The house is situated in a quiet cul de sac. There is WIFI (access codes on back of router which is in the lounge). The house has 3 bedrooms, 2 with double beds (and new John Lewis mattresses topped with king-size duvets) and a small room with two bunk-beds. The bathroom has a toilet, sink and a bath with shower over. On the ground floor there is a comfortable, sunny lounge with views to the sea and a kitchen / diner which has recently been updated with modern appliances. The lounge has a sofa bed, and a modern TV connected to a DVD player. The rear garden is accessed via the lounge and is mostly lawn; this is a lovely spot to sit and watch the spectacular sunsets. We have provided a BBQ and picnic table for some outside dining. The house is heated by electric storage and panel heaters. There is also a cosy, wood-burner style electric heater in the lounge.
There is plenty of cliff top walking from the house with amazing scenery. The surrounding area has recently been classed as a world heritage site by UNESCO. Portheras Beach is a charming 30 min stroll away. Sennen Cove; famous surfing beach is 5 miles West. The house is a short walk to Levant Mine ('Bal Levant', operated by the National Trust) and houses one of the oldest working beam engines in Cornwall. This was the setting of Tressider's Rolling Mill in the Poldark TV series. Geevor Mine, the last working tin mine in the area (now a heritage Museum and cafe) is about a mile away. Botallack Mine, Crown's Section and West Wheal Owles mine, also used as settings in 'Poldark', are all within walking distance. The Pendeen Lighthouse is a little further, also within walking distance. Pretty much everything you need is within walking distance. The house is in a convenient location surrounded by countryside. The village has 3 pubs; the nearest is 5 mins walk away. There is also a coffee shop, Post Office, 2 restaurants, a Fish and Chip shop, a small store that sells most things, and a Farmer's Market held the first and third Saturday of every month. Other nearby attractions: The harbour town of St Ives with the Tate, and Barbara Hepworth Museum are definitely worth a visit. Watch a play at the open air, cliff top Minack Theatre and enjoy Porthcurno's sandy beach below. Penlee House Museum in Penzance, features work from the famous ‘Newlyn School’ and Lamorna group of artists. Explore Trengwainton Gardens at Madron and experience the magical 'St Michael’s Mount' in Mount’s Bay. Visit the picturesque, tiny fishing village of Mousehole.
  • Really enjoyed our holiday here. House was as described and pictured. Great base for exploring the local area and great value. Easy driving distance to Penzance, St Ives and beyond. Great views from the garden to the 'Poldark mines' at Levant and Botallack and the sea. Good surfing/beach at Sennen 10-15 mins away by car and various other more secluded beaches even closer.

  • We had a wonderful time at this property. Perfect Base from which to explore this part of the Cornish coast. The garden provides you with a sunset that is simply breathtaking. With swifts darting about and our woolly friends in the field across the way, it is the perfect place to chill, eat, drink and socialise outside. The main part of the house has everything you need..and I mean everything. Very very clean and bright. Chris the owner has gone above and beyond to make your stay as comfy as possible. If you are thinking of going to this part of Cornwall you need to contact this Chris. You will not be be disappointed. One of the best properties we have stayed at. Maurice from London

  • Atlantic Ocean View is a lovely little house. We (a family of 4) really enjoyed our stay! I can only recommend it!!

    Michaela2016-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • The accommodation was really fantastic and the ocean sea view was absolutely amazing. The host prepared an extensive guidebook for us and we followed it to travel around the area. One thing to take note is that the water heater aint very good. If you are travelling in a group, make sure you do not shower too long as the hot water runs out rather quickly. Overall, good experience in cornwall and definitely recommend Chris's accommodation to others.

    Yow Wei2016-06-09T00:00:00Z
  • We did not meet Chris in person but he left all the information we needed in a booklet inside the house - everything from the Wifi details to things to do and places to eat in the local area. When we had a bit of trouble operating the key safe we were still able to contact him via phone and he helped us out. The house itself was lovely, the back of the house looks out over the ocean so the views from the living room and two of the upstairs bedrooms are stunning. The kitchen was well stocked with pots and pans, cutlery, etc. - everything you need to cook your own dinners. There was also a small collection of books and DVDs in the living room which we thought was a nice touch. The location is great for exploring Cornwall, with Land's End, Minack Theatre and St Michael's Mount all a short drive from the house.

    Stacey2016-06-20T00:00:00Z
  • My family and I really enjoyed our stay at your holiday -let in Pendene. We thought your accommodation was excellent. As a host we found you really helpful, especially when we first arrived and we didn't even know how to get into the house. You were always available on the phone when we needed you. The location of the house in the village and its immediate surroundings more than exceeded our expectations. The listing description possibly underestimated the beauty of the area. Sitting in the garden, sipping tea and admiring the wonderful views of farmland and seascape was an unbeatable experience. This was really 'Poldark' country with its relic of a past tin mining industry and the proximity of the Levant and Gever Tin Mines which were there to explore within walking distance. In short, the gardens and its surrounds was one of the great features of the house.

    Bernard2016-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • The place was as described in the pictures and in Airbnb listings so it was good from that point of view. However there were a few things which really made the day for us listed as follows - 1. The house was already heated, seeing that we were facing a very cold Easter break and that was really thoughtful of the hosts. 2. The house was recently refurbised so everything was very well organised. 3. Really liked the guide which was carefully prepared by the hosts and it helped us find some amazing places that we would have other wise missed. 4. The location was really great, it was in the middle of Cornwall, sort of; so anywhere major we wanted to go was not more than 35 minutes or so away. A lot of stuff was really close by so from a visiting point it was a very good place. If we were every visiting Cornwall again I would definitely stay at this place again and would also recommend this place to others.

  • Fantastic place in an amazing location. Sue gave some great tips on places to see and things to do. There was lots of info in the house which we chose some great walks from and plenty of entertainment (board games, puzzles etc) for a night in. Sue left lots of nice little touches too like wine and shortbread on arrival. Loved Sue's place and would come back in a heartbeat.

  • What a lovely cottage in beautiful Cornwall. The location is perfect. Sue provided everything that we needed for a 7 night stay. Thanks so much Sue for making us feel so welcome. We thoroughly recommend 'Secret Garden Cottage', it's just gorgeous.

  • We really enjoyed staying at the Secret Garden Cottage. We loved the sea view and peaceful location. The conservatory is great because you can enjoy the view across to the sea even if the weather is not good. We found the beds really comfortable. Everything was very clean when we arrived, Susannah had left us a few supplies which was very thoughtful. the location is great for exploring the very west of Cornwall as you can easily get to St Ives, Sennen, Land's End, Porthcurno, Mousehole and Penzance. We would love to stay here again.

  • Absolutely fantastic cottage. Sue has thought of everything you could possibly need for your stay & the cottage is a perfect hide away. Sea views are stunning & the log burner was so calming to sit next to after a long day of walking. Even if you don't have the weather on your side you can cosy up into this beautiful place & forget the outside world. One of the best places I have ever stayed with air bnb & I thoroughly recommend it, Sue added some nice touches with a bottle of prosecco & a pint of milk on arrival :-) Thank you so much, it was a fab new year.

Within walking distance of the sandy beach of Portheras Cove and situated on the coast road between St Just and St Ives, it is ideally situated to explore this most westerly part of the British Isles. Extensive views over open countryside and moorland to the sea, open access to an ancient landscape, scattered with monuments from pre-history, and the opportunity to explore this rugged and unspoilt coastline.
Croftoe was built as a farmhouse in the mid 19thC and although no longer a working farm still retains much of its original character. Barely overlooked, it stands by itself between Carne and Chun farms, facing west towards the sea. Granite built with much exposed stone, inglenook fireplace, beamed ceilings etc. The kitchen is a 'new' extension, spacious with a dining area which leads on to the patio - great for having breakfast outside. Upstairs there are 3 double bedrooms (1 listed) and a bathroom which will be exclusively for guest use. The bedroom is a small double, facing North across countryside and to the sea.
It's obvious I love the area surrounded by sea and open moor and farmland. The sandy beech at Portheras Cove is a 1/2 hours walk away as is access to the coastal path linking St Just and St Ives. Access to open moorland is virtually out of the door. Penzance is about 5 miles away and and the popular resort of St Ives is 10 miles away which can be reached along the scenic coastal road (B3306). There is much to explore along this beautiful route. Pendeen is the nearest village, about 1.5 miles from Morvah, with a general store, pubs and restaurant. Morvah itself has the School House Gallery which is a cafe, craft and art gallery.
  • The old farmhouse is very charming and located deep in the country side, the perfect place to flee from city and tourists! Charles is a fantastic host and made sure our stay would be a fantastic experience! He has excellent recommendations for things to do and a short walk with him through the fields around the farm was clearly a highlight!! Highly recommended!!

  • Great little visit at Charles' old farmhouse! Charles and Shelly - his wonderful greyhound -welcomed us very kindly. He invited us to feel at home and it wasn't difficult because this spot in Carnwall has a special atmosphere. Charles even went along with us for some miles when we wanted to go for a walk, because he said it would be difficult to find the right way in the mist. He showed us some celtic buidlings that made us aware of standing on immemorial ground, with it's own history - that was impressive. We enjoyed our stay! Thank you both, Charles and Shelly!

  • We came to Charles' farmhouse in Cornwall seeking Poldark Country, instead we found the people of Cornwall, and we are richer for It! Charles is a kind and wonderful host. There is always a pot of tea and interesting conversation around the kitchen table or in the fire-warmed living room. Charles was helpful as we planned each days Cornwall itinerary. He went far out of his way when we had car troubles! His old (mid 19th century), granite farmhouse is located in the rolling hills and fields near Pendeen. The sea was visible from our comfy bedroom. The bathroom is across the hall and modern. Our breakfast was ready each morning. We highly recommend Charles' farmhouse with sea views as our 4 days there will be long remembered!

  • We stayed at Charles's lovely farmhouse for 3 nights. It was our first airbnb experience as it was also the first time for Charles as a host. He was very warm, friendly and made us feel very welcome in his house, even offered us dinner on our late night arrival, which was very kind and thoughtful! We also enjoyed the company of lovely and friendly Shelly, his dog. He gave us very precise directions to his house, which helped tremendously as we were travelling from London just using a road map as a part of our Cornwall experience. He joined us over breakfast and gave us a lot of tips on where to go, lent us a Cornwall road map for our whole stay and information leaflets about interesting places to visit. Our first breakfast was an amazing bacon from local farm and great coffee, which we enjoyed very much. The room was very cosy and comfortable with a beautiful sea and land views. The location of the house was great as a base for exploring Cornwall, especially atmospheric and stunning west coast. If you're looking for a rural life experience, choose Charles's house. We felt very much like at home and really enjoyed our stay.

  • Charles is an interesting individual with a good sense of humour, self awareness and warm personality. We enjoyed having his company (&Shelly - his dog) during our stay. He has got a very good knowledge about the local area and always happy to share it with his guests. We felt very welcome at his home, almost like at friend house more than a host. Amazing place for exploring a nearby moors and ancient monuments. Worth to stay at Charles's place and we will definitely stay in touch with him and we hope to come back again.

A recommander !

  • Charles was a thoughtful and insightful host who's genuine character is refreshing and different from many I have met. I enjoyed our discussions and would recommend his place for anyone who is seeking a quiet stay in a naturally beautiful part of Cornwall....

  • We had a lovely stay at Charles's farm house. He was very welcoming and generous throughout our stay. When my hayfever was bad he even made me a healing juice! Thank you very much for a great stay.
