  • Cascade Meadows is undoubtedly one among the best properties that I've been to and one I would definitely love visiting again. The views around the place are really awesome and it is nested on a small hill top amidst tea plantations and away from all the urban madness. The property is well maintained and the location is really picturesque and there is even a nice waterfall which is visible from the property. We went there as a group of 14 guys on our bikes as part of a riding trip and the host Mr.Abhinandan who is a nature enthusiast himself, made us feel right at home. The place serves well for small groups and families alike and there was even a separate enclosure where they set up a campfire for us.The host called us well in advance to enquire about our food preferences and the in-house food they served us was fresh and of good quality. Overall a really good experience staying at Cascade Meadows and would suggest this place to fellow travellers looking for a calm and serene location to unwind.

  • Great place, away from the city. It has beautiful views. A perfect place for a family vacation.

    Ajit2017-06-01T00:00:00Z
  • The place is scenic and awesome. It is quiet and is ideal if you want to relax with family and spend a quiet day. The only sounds you will hear are from the birds. I will definitely recommend it for family vacations. Only thing we missed were some play items for kids.

This is a self-catering cottage with a bedroom/ living area, kitchen/dining room and an en suite bathroom. With exposed brick walls, walnut finished wood and hand painted tiles, Ivy Cottage is delightfully shabby chic. Rustic and yet luxurious, its red, white and black color theme and art work celebrate the local Toda tribe and the animals found in the Nilgiri mountain biosphere. An entire wall of floor to ceiling windows look out on a private patio and gardens and a stunning view.
Just 7 kilometers outside of Ooty town, this property is close to all the major tourist highlights but is secluded and remote at the same time. Away from the hustle and bustle of Ooty town, Ivy Cottage is a serene and peaceful retreat, overlooking tea estates, wild forest and mountain ridges. This is a mountain retreat, not a five star hotel. We have staff here during the day to support guests, but not at night. We have beautifully equipped kitchens so you can cook your own food, but we do not have a restaurant. We urge only resilient, nature loving, independent, resourceful, adventuresome people to book a holiday here. Its a wild and steep terrain, and at night you will not hear the noise of traffic, but rather the sound of wind in the trees, owls in the dark, rain on the roofs, bird and animal calls. This is disconcerting for many who are used to the sound of city life all around them. While the evenings may have firelight, candles and electricity, once the lights are out, it will be pitch dark all around. When skies are clear the stars and moon are perhaps the most beautiful you will ever see. Its something about being in the mountains 8,000 ft high, with no pollution covering the atmosphere. Other times of the year, especially in the monsoon, its just incredibly dark. City dwellers often find this unsettling. The mountains of Ooty are also very cool year round, especially at night. While the indoors are warm and cozy, mountain air outside is brisk! Staying at Stumpfields you'll find out quickly just how comfortable you are with nature, and just how dependent you are on technology for your peace of mind. For those who want complete luxury, room service, wifi, TV's, a restaurant, and 24 hour staff service we recommend you book a hotel in the town of Ooty. Please don't book unless you are ready for a challenge and an adventure. Come here ready to unplug from emails and the internet, TV's and movies, and try curling up by the oil heater with a cup of hot chocolate and a good book. Let your body and mind re-set and re-charge as you decompress from your hectic city schedule and let the nature around you remind you there is a different way to live. A little iron gate invites a short walk into national reserve forest surrounding the Stumpfield property. A private flight of stone steps leads down to the orchard of fruit trees and herb garden. If you look carefully you might find some strawberries as well! Feel free to pick your own herbs, spring onions or leeks, or just sit back and sip some tea at the garden table. For those who want some serious hiking, just ask our helpful manager who can either guide you or point you in the right direction.
We live in the wilderness, completely secluded with no other neighbors around. You probably won't feel too isolated because we have two other houses on the property, with guests and staff during the day. At the end of our drive, along a main road is a small village where the local tea-pickers reside. You can catch a glimpse of this village from the balcony of the cottage. There is a dry goods shop in Buttercombai, which has rice, sugar, tea, lentils, onions and eggs. For greater variety be sure to shop for food in Ooty town before arriving at Stumpfields. I'll have salt, pepper, tea, coffee, biscuits, cumin, chili powder, coriander, and turmeric powder and oil. So, if you are planning to cook, please bring your fresh veggies and or meat and fruit. Since we live at the top of the mountain, we have a freshwater well, and you can drink straight from the tap, no boiling needed, so don't plan on buying water. Since Ooty is 7 km from, its best to buy your food in the market in Ooty before arriving at the cottage.
  • Absolutely loved the place. The style of the house is so pleasing. I love how creative everthing is. I had the most perfect yogi getaway and a beautiful yoga practice. Their doggies are sooooo cute.

  • We had a great time. Solomon, the caretaker was quite helpful and attentive. The dogs were extremely fun to hang out with and we got very attached to Allegria, the GSD who kept good company for us on our walks in and around the premise. We were impressed with the amount of thought that has gone into setting up the place, particularly the kitchen. The place is quite serene and kind of cut off from Ooty town. You should go here to unwind and relax but if you want to look around Ooty a lot then this is slightly farther away from town, so you need your own transport or hire an expensive taxi.

  • Before we start with the review of our actual experience, let's start with an (embarrassing) fact. We decided on our place for our vacation after we stumbled upon Ivy Cottage on AirBnb. The pictures in the listing, and the description of the place reeled us right in. We are glad to say that the place lived upto it's image in our head. Stumpfields is a bubble, far removed from the hustle and bustle of a congested Ooty, but not so far that it'll be difficult to reach. If you read Mala's directions carefully and/or are lucky enough to have your GPS working, finding the place should be no biggie. Besides the ever helpful Solomon is always a call away. He is genuinely helpful, no matter how small a request or query. We were two friends who were looking to spend a quiet few days away from the city - after the trip we feel like we couldn't have found a better place. From sipping local tea at the patio with the dogs Waza and Allegria entertaining us with their antics, to spotting a herd of wild bison at the garden - this place is one experience you'll be recounting to your friends for days to come. Unfortunately we did not have the pleasure of meeting Mala and Greg as they were travelling during our stay, but special mention to everyone in the staff - Prabha, Ravi and others who maintain the fine balance between helpful yet not encroaching. All in all a great experience, highly recommended for self reliant travelers who are always looking for unique experiences.

  • The best cottage in Ooty ! Peaceful place ..

    sathvika2017-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • It is a very well maintained property. If you are looking forward for a peaceful holiday go for it. There are two dogs and they are very friendly. During rainy season the road is not drivable for some cars but if you have rear wheel drive or 4x4 it should not be a problem. Rooms are Clean with lot of art work books and playing cards. The view from the rooms is very nice. Note: The night walk from road to cottage will be thrilling. Me and my wife enjoyed the thrill of walking alone in pitch dark and silence.

    Karthick2017-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Mala’s home has a charm of its own. It’s peaceful and my wife and I had a wonderful time. The views from the home are just something - one you wish you could wake up to everyday! We also enjoyed spending time with the dogs and are missing them already. We hope to be back soon in the bigger house. We highly recommend a quiet and scenic break at Ivy cottage. It’s the perfect escape from the chaos of city life!

  • My husband and I decided to spend our 6 month anniversary away from the chaos of Bengaluru, and Ivy cottage turned out to be the perfect weekend getaway. It was surprisingly easy to reach Buttercombai village and ride right upto the cottage with an auto from Ooty town. There has been a lot of thought and heart put into the property and we fell in love with the place instantaneously. We were promptly greeted by Alegria and Waza, the watchdogs, who became our weekend companions for football and walks. The cottage itself, is quaint, and sits on top of the property commanding a panoramic view of the hills and tea estates around. It has been tastefully done up and was a perfect mix of cozy and functional. There aren't any shops around except a small store with basic necessities, and we would suggest buying things from the town itself. We traveled to town from the cottage by taking the bus just outside the property. Solomon, the manager, was very helpful with advice and local information and made sure we had a comfortable stay. We loved the experience and hope to visit soon again.

  • Mala's place is a dream home. Getting an opportunity to stay here was an absolute privilege, and it is undoubtedly one of the best airbnb experiences out there. Located in Buttercombai village, it is far away from the hustle and bustle of Ooty town. There is a bus every half an hour to and from this village for Ooty. Set atop a hill, what we get from Stumpfields is a stunning view of the valley, rich with tea plantation and lush greenery. On one side is the Buttercombai village, while on the other side is the newly built Govt. Tea Park. A 100 meters from Mala's place, one has to walk through the woods to get to the Park. The apartment is a perfect milieu of old and new, with antiques and quirky artifacts blending together perfectly. It's a studio apartment, with a well equipped kitchen, double bed, dining table, room heater, and a bathroom. The room evokes a feeling of warmth and coziness. While you're there, make sure to go for a walk through the buttercombai village. Bringing you across the ever smiling locals, and the stunning landscape, a walk through this quaint village is an experience in itself. Our walk was made even more special as we were led by Waza and Alegria, Mala's watchdogs. They were the cutest things to have happened to us, and we fell in love with them instantly. Solomon, the caretaker was always available, and professional. While you're there, be prepared to cook as the nearest restaurant is approx 3 kms away, and there is no option to get cooked food here. This is a small part that can be improved actually, but no complaints. We parted with a resolution to come back someday!

  • Awesome host. Made us feel at home. Delightful stay.

  • Will keep the review as simple as possible.. The good: The host was really friendly, had actually lost my way and he came and picked us up. That was a great gesture. Appreciate that The manager was also friendly. Did his best to make us feel comfortable The location is great. Very calm and pleasant The tents and the amenities were clean, no issue with that Not so good: For families it may not be the best place unless you are open with staying in the same place with bachelors You can overhear people talking, its expected as tents are never sound proof :-) , so if there is a bit noisy crowd, you will find it a bit annoying Far from city, which is good, but for food you need to rely on someone to deliver or going and getting is not easy. The food delivery was not on time, and it is a bit annoying if you are looking to go to bed early

  • Well this is one place where you want to come back again n again. Great experience. Had an amazing time, except for that brief dance n music scene, instead some soothing music is a best fit for a place like yours. Anyway cant complain since you guys have to cater to all your guests. But overall had a brilliant time. Highly recommended.

    Gaurav2017-04-23T00:00:00Z
  • Had a really nice time at Tiger Hills. The setup is superb, well conceptualized, nicely maintained facilities and quaint in its own way! Jerome is doing an excellent managing everything and so are the boys, they are a huge 'people' quotient of this place. Communication is crisp and responses quick, expectations are set way on, whether your are experienced camper or a first timer. Overall everything may either turn out to be totally rustic or a pleasant 'camp site'. PS- you can carry your own tent if you want, and it can get really crowded on the weekends so reset your expectations of the service accordingly. Jerome and his boys will do their best, no doubt.

  • We really appreciate the warm hospitality rendered to us by the manager and amazed at the fact how owners found time to sit with us and share their story around Bonfire. Mesmerising views and a wonderful escape from the Bangalore heat. Thank you for hosting us Aventura, we will come back soon!

  • Aventura is so good that you'll want to be a part of it. The place, the people, the experience. You have to be there to know how good it is. The enthusiasm of the people running the show is infectious. Dev, the host, and his buddies, is a cool bunch. What else does one seek ? Highly recommend the bonfire experience. Made a couple of friends too. Such is the place. Cheers to Aventura!!

  • Stay was excellent.

    Deepak2017-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • Our campsite offered an excellenty view of sunset. The washrooms were clean. Hosts were great. They were friendly and ensured everything for us, from travel to food. We had the best time dancing around bonfire during NYE 2017 celebrations. Since our sightseeing was over very soon, we had to return to the campsite very early. However, the presence of various indoor and outdoor games and activities ensured we had a fun time. Trampoline and TT was my favorite :D They also arranged small treks for us at a reasonable price. We will definitely choose them again when we visit Ooty the next time.

Welcome to our family home in Coonoor where we would like our guests to get a feel of the Badaga culture, especially our cuisine. We're passionate about food and love to meet travelers with a similar fascination.
Your stay with us is in a simple and comfortable room in our family house where I live with my mother and sister. We have extended family visiting at times so you can expect days with activity all around and also days when things are much calmer. The stay is ideal for someone looking to spend a couple of quiet days exploring Coonoor. If you're interested in food then we can introduce our guests to try out traditional Badaga cuisine. If you wish to trek and enjoy the the tribal culture, it can be arrange.
The house is in a residential locality of Coonoor very close to Sim's Park.
  • Harsha is a great host. She knows a lot about Coonoor and its surrounding areas, and can help you plan the perfect trip. She also goes out of her way to make you comfortable and ensures you have a good time. On our part, we just wanted to relax for couple of days while enjoying Coonoor during the winter. We got what we wanted :-)

  • Harsha is a great host. If you are looking for a personalized experience and a life long friendship then you can bet on Harsha. The place is a British period house with an antique look and was renovated with modern amenities. Both the room and the house are extremely well maintained. Harsha was kind enough to take us to a dam which was so beautiful and pristine. Overall, the stay is like "at home".

  • Dear airbnb-ians, stay at this place if you are interested in calm place and want to know about culture. The owner made such a sweet breakfast for us. We came to know about the tribals : Thoda, Kotta, Kurumba and their culture, life-style. It has a dream garden: Peach tree, old aurokorea, coffee tree, many flowers (i dont remember the name). We get explanation : how to make coffee beans after plucking these from tree. Came to know about local shops (did a bit shopping thoda work, pen holders, book marks etc). Please visit this place if you enjoy local things. And ofcourse buy honey. We tasted: it is really good.

  • Harsha was a wonderful host. Her home is spacious and charming. The facilities are modern and comfortable. I was able to interact with the family and enjoy the wonderful food prepared by Harsha using produce from her garden. I would recommend a stay with Harsha. You will enjoy a truly unique experience of Indian life

  • Harsha's home in Coonoor provided us with the perfect base to explore this part of the Nilgiri Hills. Our room with en-suite bathroom was large and comfortable and had all the amenities we could wish for. We were encouraged to share the communal spaces and the wi-fi connection was superb. Harsha herself was the perfect hostess. She welcomed us warmly into her home and fed us delicious home-cooked food. She helped us with our family history search - without her help, we wouldn't have gained access to the church where my husband's grandparents were married. Nothing was too much trouble for Harsha and we really enjoyed her company. I hope we'll return one day.

  • We had a lovely stay - Harsha is an incredibly warm and welcoming host! Great local suggestions, wonderful food and conversation, and she even helped us with some of our travel logistics. Especially loved the tour of the garden. Only wish we could have stayed longer than one night!

  • As you open the gate, you would be welcomed by lush green plants on either side making you feel like walking down the (your favorite color) carpet. Once you hit the end, you will see a 50-year-old Christmas tree standing tall - majestic! - followed by eye-pleasing lush green plants and trees. Nature at its best! As you turn left, you will find the 60-year-old well-maintained spacious and charming house that would make you fall in love. My daughter is already in love! Our room with en-suite bathroom was large, comfortable, and had the amenities that one would require for a comfortable stay. I never imagined such a spacious room would be available for us during the homestay. Got to know about the Badaga culture. Experienced the traditional Badaga cuisine prepared using the homegrown vegetables and fruits. Our stay at Harsha's place was simply superb! A vacation to be cherished forever. It was disappointing for my daughter that the vacation ended soon - she loved to stay few more days at Harsha's place. Finally, about Harsha - an epitome of caring and friendly host!

  • A beautiful house, filled with antique that still breaths the old days of India, where you will feel at home immediately. Harsha is a smart and energetic lady filled with knowledge about the local culture of Coonoor and surroundings. Staying here, you will have a real homestay in all its senses. Definitely recommended for women traveling solo. And Harsha's cooking is superb.

Ku Mo è innamorato Dale, The Nilgiris, Tamil N, India.
  • Ku Mo is mesmerising. Sits beautifully on top of a hill that's dotted with tea plantation and flowers. The view from the room and the deck can't be any better. We saw the sun rising beyond the clouds and gripping Ketti valley in its warmth. We could also hear the trees, birds, rain and the occasional song being played in the valley. It's a great place to walk and experience silence. Access to KuMo is easy, we used govt buses to and from Ooty. Get down at the DFL bus stop, breath the fresh air and walk to the house. Sunil and Anima are great care takers and made us feel at home. Ravi was constantly in touch through (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) and helped us with some amazing suggestions on things to do. Till we meet again. Thanks, Ku Mo and Ravi.

  • Ku Mo is a hidden gem in Ooty area. It's located in a lovely spot in Lovedale on a hill top. Surroundings are beautiful and the weather was lovely in June. The property is very beautifully designed. The rooms are very open, airy, with great views and modern amenities. The landscaped gardens in the property are also a treat for short walks and good nooks and crannies for a cup of tea. There is a good cook who can customise food as per preferences. Overall Ku Mo is a wonderful property to revel in nature with great comfort. Tip: preferably get your own car if you want to go around nearby areas. If you want to go for treks do inform the host in advance to make adequate arrangements.

If you have any health issue that prevents you from walking short distances apx 300 meters on walk way , this isn't the place for you. Each cabin is 1800 per night and provides accommodation for two people not three. At one point in time this entire area was internationally deemed as the second best climate in the world after Pasadena, California. Gone those days and it will get worst. This place 'Fuschia' (named after the beautiful non indigenous flower in a bell shape) happens also to have many of these flowers in a huge spectrum of colors. There is a Hindu temple which is right next to parking lot, over a period of time local farmers have planted tea on the road, this causes an inconvenience to walk, but at the same time it's a little historic reflecting it's original state. You have to walk 10 min from the parking lot on a nice scenic trail to reach the cabins (I love calling this an automatic tread mill). But once again if you have difficulty walking also if your are city person there is nothing here for you. You will be bored from surroundings and regret on your decision of coming here. By the same token if you love grandeur of nature and don't want to spend too much money then you will be in love at first sight. There are no shops and restaurants around but aren't you sick of them? Anyway these cabins are Large, Medium and small with attach very clean baths, each cabin got king size beds, one small cabin with smaller size bed but two can cuddle. Also this is not the place where you want to measure the size of the cabin but vastness of outside beauty. Also each bath got hot shower with low pressure, bucket bath is way to go with geyser heated water. This place is zero star, to me this star ranking system is good for cities. In old days there were no star system and people live quite nice lives in villages compare to artificial life we are pushing ourselves into in cities. This is back to basics concept and coming here you are going back in time. Jack London, Shakespeare and list goes on who lived in simple cabins or cottages, which probably helped sharpened there brains. Anyway bathrooms got color combination tiles, granite, high end plumbing fittings, very colorful wash basins which I picked up from Thailand. You can also enjoy Gazebo/Sun room just to kick back or do nothing all day and rest after that in the evening by the fire side. For wild life lovers watch heard of Bison's, lots of birds etc. Only animals I have seen are Wild boars, Deer, Porcupines, Rabbits, one time I counted heard of 33 Bison, Leopards and vast variety of birds. Just to be on record last sighting of pair of leopard was on evening of Feb 8th ,2015 by me and Gardner Sandhu for about 5 min with flash light across the creek. April 26th evening all guests saw pair of leopard at distance, Feb 2016 we saw three bears. September 18h our dog was taken by Leopard right in front of cook and gardener, they are size of golden reteriver or little bigger but never heard attacking cowns cows or animal, only active at night. I saw two with flash light and they walked away, made my evening and I consider my self lucky enough to sight them. Seeing animals and birds is healthy sight since they are loosing there homes to viscous human beings who are not hesitant to kill them, cut forest and burn. Personally me working hard for past few years won the battle but lost the war. When you come here you will see what I mean. As far this place goes you can go on mild to moderate hike to waterfall or if you are courage's enough then climb tall mountain right in front of you, you can also walk on a trail to village called Bibin, usually village people are very welcoming and will invite you for tea or coffee into there homes. Also to make you feel better all the money you give for these cabins eventually trickle down to poverty driven people who were born in poverty and after working hard all there lives still living in poverty. There lives are almost like modern day slavery, dark side of this paradise. Especially women who pluck tea leaves under hot sun or rain and get paid very little. Surprisingly they always have beautiful smile in spite of going through never ending hardships unlike people in big cities. Anyway you are not coming here to end world hunger but to enjoy your time so lets get to the point. This place is little bit off the beaten path and very few people live around this area. If you like inner cities person then again this is not the place for you. I don't want to discourage you not to come but same time bit concern if this is a good match for you. Since there are no shops all around here so you can do all the shopping in Kotagiri and stack up the refrigerator. Mostly its the caretakers who goes and do shopping for you to kotagiri market and pass on the bills to you of what ever price they paid plus small profit on top, but still your meals price is not that high. Since they really know what to buy and what goes into southern cooking. They charge you little money for auto charge also for there gas bill etc. Its quite a task to bringing groceries back down hill from kotagiri. I am personally hardly involved in doing anything around here other then to communicate with you and pass your phone number to Ishwar. Staying here is brilliant idea to contribute to poor, simultaneously you get your pleasure of staying in beautiful setting with awesome beauty around, you go to bed with noise of waterfall and wake up to the sound of birds. When you leave you can be proud of contributing towards not so privileged everyday life people in Nilgiris. Staying here American novelist John Muir's saying applies " A day spent in a nature is a day added to your life". If you have more then a back pack or carry on's then guys will be courteous enough to give you helping hand. I am sure they will appreciate tips too. People around are very humble and down to earth. Do not arrive when its dark. Can't buy beer or hard liquor around. Please bring Flash lights, books you always wanted to read. Please do not littler, have respect for next visitors and environment around. Some lady I never met tossed dirty diaper in the tea estate during there stay, I hope she never comes back again. Since it is such a small place no guarantee you will get cabin. Oh by the way water fall doesn't look as nice due to deforestation. Some people especially coming from cities buying land have no respect for nature and they are not hesitant to cut trees which took years to grow in 5 min. Land without trees look bare and horrible. Forest around here with old matured trees is diminishing very quickly, wild animals loosing there home. Criminal actives in cutting Shola trees ( Indigenous trees) is quite common here especially by outsider not the locals. This is crying shame, we talk about vanishing Amazon forest but this is happening right here in Nilgiris. Unfortunately none of the rich tea planters all around raises voice or concern over deforestation. But if labor working in fields demand bit more money in wages that is four letter word to them. Anyway morning and evenings are very pleasant. Do not wonder off during afternoon. Over here UV rays are very strong and you can get heat stroke. If you are not is good shape don't attempt to go on hike especially heavy smokers. Most of the time I am not here but just in case if I am here and I happen to be driving to Kotagiri then I would love to give you ride from Ooty to Kotagiri. Also if you need help with pick up and drop off there is a real nice guy who got small Maurti Van and he can take you around sight seeing etc for fair price also pick you up from Coimbatore train station or airport and drop you back. Same applies to hikers, we got pro who know Nilgiris like back of his had and all the ikes in this region, his name Anil.
Fresh life to Shola trees OO09_SINGH STAFF REPORTER UDHAGAMANDALAM: NOVEMB(PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) IST UPDATED: NOVEMB(PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) IST Reintroducing native Shola species of trees and involving the community in both nurturing and protecting the environment is the aim of Sharan Deep Singh, a Punjabi who settled in Kotagiri many years ago. At his sprawling 7-acre property (resort) in Kotagiri, Mr. Singh has planted native Shola trees within the tea plantations as a way of replanting lost forest. Click Here! “I loved The Nilgiris as people are so friendly. I saw the forests vanishing around me, and invasive trees such as Eucalyptus and wattle flourishing. I realised that the Sholas were disappearing and so I began reintroducing them into my own land,” he said. One can spot many birds, including jungle fowl, hummingbirds, bull-bulls, laughing thrush, flycatchers, peacocks, doves and hawks in his estate. Indian Gaur and leopards as well as sloth bears are also spotted regularly. “I leave the bananas, oranges and guava trees to the macaques too,” he said. Mr. Singh has planted hundreds of trees on his land and the area surrounding it. He also helps members of the local community with financial packages, and takes the conservation message to them. He supports the education of children and gives “pension” to the aged and differently abled, and also provides job opportunities to locals at his resort. “I will leave the resort to them, or to a trust, so that the income generated by renting the rooms can be diverted back to the community. I have been receiving so much love from people here, and the environment, and I just want to give back,” he said.
  • Fuschia.. so much loved the lush green around it.. it was like a green oasis. You can always have a good chance to spot Nilgiris bison near by. During our forest hike in the near by area, we were lucky enough to spot the Malabar giant squirrel.

  • I am not gonna differ much from what others said. This place is indeed a paradise. The caretaker called us a day before our check in to confirm our arrival time and our food preferences. The people there were absolutely friendly and welcoming. A calm and serene place surrounded by lush green tea plantations. Everything about this place was amazing be it the food or the waterfall nearby. I cant wait to get to this place again. Highly recommended and huge respect to Sharan Deep for what he is doing to the community over there !!

  • Great place to stay, forget about everything, no phones, no wifi and just enjoy your vacations.

    Vinay2017-05-27T00:00:00Z

  • The stay at Cascade meadows turned out to be one of our best stays for a lot of reasons: Communication: Abhinandan was very prompt and courteous in his communication and very helpful in providing directions to the place Staff: Once we reached there the staff took over from Abhinanadan and they were very efficient. The check-in process went smoothly Rooms and Area: Rooms were spacious, clean and overlooking the valley. There are also 2 separate seating areas at left and the right ends of the property, overlooking the valley which can accommodate around 6-8 people each. There is a dining area on the other side which also opens to the valley view with waterfall and has a fireplace. This area can accommodate a lot of people and is good for a bigger group (10-15 people). Food: Food was home-cooked style and very delicious. Non-veg was better than veg. Idlis in the breakfast were soft and sumptuous. Views & Weather: The best aspect of Cascade Meadows are the views that are on offer. Even if above-mentioned aspects were not good enough, I would have still preferred to stay here just for the views. The front side of the room provides magnificent valley view with tea-gardens all around. The backside has the similar view with waterfall. We also trekked to the waterfall which takes around half an hour to reach and I highly recommend it. Monsoon seems to be the best time to come here as you can see the waterfall and valley with misty clouds. Heavenly experience! Others: Alcohol and smoking is allowed but only outside the rooms, in seating areas We went with family and were a group of 6. Definitely coming back here soon!

  • My brother and his friends stayed during their Ooty trip. Abhi were helped them by guiding the route till they reach the place. Ganesh were kind enough and took care of them well through out the stay. A suggestion from the group was sign board to the resort would help little more for the people who come for the time. Definitely worth to stay and it add the value to your trip for sure.

  • Abhinandan arranged us a stay at a different place. Because of a technical issue with AirBnB, his place good booked twice on the same dates. The other place was also a Great stay. The place was fantastic and was well maintained. There's a caretaker who stays all the time for any assistance that we require. Thanks Abhinandan for arranging this in a very short time. Really appreciated. Definitely recommended.

Reuben's Homestay was built as a family home and, not surprisingly, feels like one. It is situated at the entrance to Ooty town, making it just out of reach of the noise and crowds while being extremely accessible the town. The lawn in front of the house is a great place for adults to unwind as the kids can run around inside the compound. It’s a great place to spend your summer, if I have to say so myself. What are you waiting for?
For those of you who like to indulge in cooking your own food, we have a modern kitchen with stone table-tops and a complete range of modern amenities such as a gas stove, microwave oven and refrigerator. Better yet, let us know what you’d like to have and our cook will rustle it up for you.
  • Hosts Sunitha and Aarthi had shared all the information and their location. We had no difficulty reaching the house. House is very nice, neat and clean. Lawn is very well maintained. There is a nice fireplace in the living room. View from the house is very good too. The food is homely and very nice. Overall a very nice place to stay at with family or friends.

  • The location is deep inside city, yet far removed from noise and pollution and easily accessible by car or auto. The view from frontyard is breathtaking. The house is exactly as shown in pictures. The rooms are nice and comfy. Overall, amazing experience.

  • One of the best homestays ever! A well maintained, beautiful bungalow that could accommodate 6-8 guests easily. The place looks exactly the same like in the pics and has well mannered staff to serve your needs. Arthi co-ordinated seamlessly and made sure we were comfortable. Food was home made and awesome, definitely worth the money. Would recommend to anybody!

  • Having spent my formative years in Ooty in the 80s, I had great memories of a serene, pristine place. Ooty has changed much for the worse and now stands like a crowded and unplanned slum. However Turret has managed to retain its charm despite all the commotion around it like an oasis in a desert. The cottage has a homely feel to it that no hotel can offer. The furniture and fixtures transport you back in time in a comfy manner. Beds and duvets are comfortable, rooms have heaters and toilets are adequate. The sprawling lawn, garden and house dogs Jackie and Brownie (extremely friendly) are all part of the package. Rooms and kitchen are cleaned daily. Stephen the caretaker will run any errand you put him up to and Mrs Leela Menon will remind you of your Mom or Grandma with her affection. Place to stay at if you are looking for a home away from home.

  • The home is beautiful, immaculate and accessible. If you don't want to go down the the city centre, you will be completely relaxed having a cup of tea in the garden. If you are a bit of an adventurer, this home is great to come home to. The homeowner and the help were efficient and easily contactable. My group loved the place, it really felt like home (:

  • Warm, cozy, sparkling clean and well managed- Turret was the perfect little place for us for our stay at Ooty. Everything was organized beautifully, the beds very comfortable, heaters for warmth as it was cold and rainy. The self serve kitchen has everything you need to make breakfast and a meal if you choose to. The garden is lovely with a beautiful lawn and bursts of flowers. It's close to the centre and market, but tucked away in a small lane and so we had the best of both worlds. The communication with the host and the caretaker was also easy and they were always accessible for anything we needed. Highly recommend!

    Sancha2017-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • Was a cool, relaxing place for families. However the neighbourhood was crowded with lots of buildings, that's the trade off if you need to stay in heart of the town. The rose garden was just a stone throw away. I just loved the lawn and their care taker Gopal was courteous enough to organize the food for us.

    Suhas2015-05-17T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was easy to find - it shows up on (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) Map which was really convenient since we checked in late at night. Mrs.Menon made us feel most welcome. The cottage is cleaned everyday which was excellent! It feels really nice to come back to a clean room, a bed that has been made, and dishes that have been done! Homely but with the comforts of a hotel - it was perfect!

  • They say your journey is only complete when the destination is as good as the hospitality. Trite but true even in an idyllic place like Coonoor. We came with a long drawn out itinerary to spend less time at Mon Ame and more in sightseeing. We ended up doing the exact opposite. The Munims are such a warm couple that we spent hours listening to their countless stories of travels across the world, peering at souvenirs from their travels and gazing over marvellous paintings drawn by Mr Mukesh. Every inch of their lovely home is infused by their love and care and it shows. The views , the food give any hotel a serious run for their money. A heartfelt thanks to the Munims for giving us serious life goals

    Shinu2016-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • Falling in love at first sight well I clearly din't believe in, until I came across Mr & Mrs Munims heavenly abode. The home filled with love & laughter yet nothing contemporary about it, the kind of home I would dream about. Every inch of the house had a story to tell, one of the many talents Mr.Mukesh & Mrs.Anjali possess is for decorating & arranging the furniture & objects in the house, many of which they have collected on their travels. House is so interesting with all the objects charmingly arranged with quirky combinations of colours & shapes. The couple also has talent of arranging the space outside, dividing the area from garden & comfortable seating. The way they have styled their nest is pure vintage, it is rustic neither old fashioned nor naive, it is a celebration of the couples journey. It is all the more special as Mr.Mukesh has paid attention to every detail, it made us feel like the past times is always present. Our stay was more than pleasant, the staff were so courteous Mr.Dilip who ensured our comfort stay & Ms.Angel who was a brilliant chef. The lavish spread of breakfast was wholesome, cleanliness was spot on. Our room was the best & why not ?? sleeping under one of my most favourite painting "The Starry Night by Van Vogh" which was recreated by Mr.Mukesh is something magical. Staying & sharing the thoughts of the most artistic person I have ever met, the passion of art in any form be it food, paintings, photographs, books, cinema, gardening, or decorating you are our inspiration !!!! Ain't it funny sometimes ?? You meet somebody for couple of days & you get connected like you were meant to be.........

  • A very beautiful, artistic, clean home away from the maddening crowd, at the outskirts of Wellington. The view is to die for. Munims are very helpful, warm and friendly people. Mukesh is an artist and a photographer. The house is literally an art gallery, which is an added bonus! Mukesh has a great home theatre with, big screen, great sound system and lazy boys.. Which was great the day it rained a lot and we were forced to stay at home. A beautiful place for a quiet, comfortable holiday filled with great conversations, art and movies in the lap of nature's best greens!

  • Absolutely delightful little nest is what Anjali & Mukesh home is. Was inspired to see how both of them have chosen the offbeat path of creating a beautiful away from the mad rush of Mumbai. Thanks for the lovely breakfasts, conversations & hosting us at the Wellington Gymkhana The art created by you'll & the theatre deck upstairs were outstanding Look forward to meeting you'll again Nitesh

  • Mukesh and Anjali, our hosts, made this our most memorable trip yet. The accommodation is very classy and unique, with Mukesh’s paintings on display throughout the home. The home itself is located in a very picturesque location. The hospitality was excellent too. I can go on about the home but I would like to take this chance to say thank you to our hosts. They were truly wonderful from the moment go. We felt at ease the moment we stepped into the house. We stayed there for two days and they spent a lot of time with us. We engaged in a lot of conversations and we really did not feel the need to step out of their fantastic company at any time. They went out of their way to make us get the “Wellington / Coonoor” experience and I can easily say we have not stayed at hosts this wonderful till date. They drove us around Wellington and gave us some memorable moments. Towards the end of our stay, we did not really wish to say good-bye at all. It felt like we were checking out of our “uncle and aunt’s”home, rather than any paid accommodation. We carry a lot of memories from this place and would love to return once again in the not so distant future and make more memories with them. Mukesh and Anjali saying bye to us from their porch when we were driving away from their beautiful home is still fresh in our memories. - Ajay & Pushpa

  • Mukesh and Anjali are nothing less than perfect hosts with an idyllic property. It comes along wiyh what can be the most picturesque views known to the region. =)

  • Anjali and Mukesh are one of those rare hosts on AirBnB with whom one immediately develops a connection that makes you feel right at home. They have built a beautiful home with a lot of passion and it can be seen in everything from Mukesh's paintings to the fine French architectural touches in every corner of their home. Their home is located perfectly away from mad tourist rush of Nilgiris, yet connected well enough to every place you would need go on a holiday. Having travelled the world themselves, they perfectly understand what a traveller needs from travel tips to nearby places to the privacy you need on your holiday. For us the best part was listening to their travel stories from around the world, all I can say is that meeting people like Anjali and Mukesh, gives us life goals :-) ... Needless to say, I am looking forward to our next stay with them when the time comes.

Hill View Farm Animal Refuge is run by a registered animal welfare charity, India Project for Animals and Nature (IPAN) and is the permanent and peaceful home to 150 rescued animals. Your payment via Airbnb goes 100% and directly to support the care of the rescued animals living at the animal refuge.
The space includes one bedroom and one small lounge that can also be used as a bedroom, kitchenette with fridge and a kettle and a basic bathroom. The verandah is towards the forest and the hills where you can spot wildlife in the evenings. This is simple and rural and in the nature and we can not keep the space completely free of bugs so please be prepared for that.
Your payment for your accomodation goes directly to run the IPAN Hill View Farm Animal Refuge and you can interact with the numerous rescued animals who live on the farm as well as to learn about the IPAN animal welfare work.
  • Tucked away in the lap of the Nilgiris, away from the hustle and bustle of the city, there is this small animal farm. The farm houses the loveliest animals, dogs, donkeys, cows, ponies and horses roam free without the fear of anyone. Vast expanses of wild fields on all sides segregate this from the rest of the world. I loved spending the two days at the farm. Hosted by Ilona, the warmest welcome we could have expected and the stories she told us about her work she does were really moving. Her two daughters Sarah and Ema breathe live into the farm, we had a game of dodgeball (I got beat up though) next to their beautiful kitchen garden. I will visit again, for sure. I know where to go when work stress drives me mad.

  • We stayed at the Sheep shed on the Hill view farm for one night and it was a thoroughly enjoyable stay. It's a bit of a walk from the main road but it is totally worth it. The room was cozy and the animals around gave us a unique experience that we had never before experienced. Nigel and Llona were very helpful during the stay. Would definitely love to visit again.

    Rachita2016-04-25T00:00:00Z
  • Back a second time, my stay was lovely again. It was great to see the ponies in their spanking new stable and go walkabout with a personal guard of tails-a-wagging dogs. Lightning and thunder in the big, open night sky made for a night unlike any other in the city. Already beginning to wonder what my next visit will be like. :)

  • It's a beautiful place , amazing view but good for people looking for something different and love the outback , got lucky and saw a wild elephant , the dogs gave us a hearty welcome we felt soo loved by them , it was a amazing place with beautiful animals all around ..

  • Traveled to the animal refuge in late July 2015 with family. The place is straight out of a children's book with horses and donkeys and dogs. The kids had a blast with Ilona's family, watching movies, grooming the horses and scrambling onto the haystack. Riding the horses and going for a swim with the hills towering over us were lovely experiences. The place is comfortable, bright and cheery and the hosts are great. Can't wait to go back :)

  • The listing is accurate and Ilona is very warm in her welcome. She splits her time between Ooty and the farm, so if you want to meet her and understand more of IPAN and their work on the farm, do check in advance if she will be available. We reached after lunch on a Sunday and Ilona and her daughter gave our children horse rides from the farm to the Mavanalla village and back. It is a holistic experience, starting from getting to know your horse, brushing their coats, understanding how horses think and things to watch out for etc. My children (2 sons, 12 and 8 years) absolutely loved their farm stay experience - from the horse rides, to petting the numerous dogs, helping out with the animal feeding as well as the nature trail walk from the farm to the car (about 800m). Tips for guests:- 1) Sometimes (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) Maps tries to be smart and gives the shortest route possible (not the best road) between Ooty and Mavanalla (which can even be a dirt track). Don't follow it blindly - ensure that you stay on the Main District Road 700. You can use Cafe Coffee Day, Mavanalla as the destination (when coming from Ooty). Puspa Auto Care is within 200m from CCD. 2) It will be difficult to go to the Mavanalla village after sunset (around 6pm) unless you go by Lakdi Babu's jeep (Rs.150 one way), so arrange for dinner from the Mavanalla restaurants by 5pm or so. Ilona provides an induction cooker and a few vessels, so you can try cooking basic stuff as well. 3) The water available at the farm comes from the ground and while safe to drink (Ilona has a can of boiled water), may not appeal to everyone because of the mineral taste. Bottled water is available at Mavanalla village, so this is easily remedied. 4) Cell connectivity is very bad on the farm. Airtel is non-existent. Other providers like Aircel, Vodafone can be obtained at certain areas of the farm. If you can't afford to go offline, your best bet is to have a BSNL connection. 5) Finally, have realistic expectations on what will be available at the farm. The house, bathroom and toilet is clean - towels and soap are provided, along with linen and blankets. However, this is a proper animal farm, first and foremost, and therefore your stay comes with a lot of friendly animals along with their smells and sounds. Ilona was very friendly and helped us out with her own extension box when I realized I had forgotten a plug adaptor for my laptop charger that had a US plug.

  • The best place to stay in the whole of nilgiris.clean and full furnished home. The host IIona is very thoughtful and caring in preparations even before the arrival. The place is not just another listing. They (Dr Nigel and Dr IIona ) have moved to India from finland for conserving animals. The place is so awesome that many will not even leave the IPAN enclosure that is on the foot of a huge hill. A river stream runs close by and is the best for a mid day bath. They love the animals so much and are literally taking care of over 80 animals (horses, donkeys, dogs and cattle) .i will forever remember the friendly horse polo.talk to any person on road in a 11km radius they know the place and remember the doctors with respect and affection. The charges of staying at the home is directly credited to their animal rescue fund.which is absolutely awesome. The home has easy access via public jeeps from mudhumalai, masinagudi and just 20 kms from ooty. Dont let the pricing of the bnb underrate the super cool home with place sufficient to easily accomodate 6-7 people with a proper kitchen and great geyser. The place is clearly several notches above the greedy resorts and other bnbs. Will always stay at IPAN-hill view animal refuge no matter how many times i visit the serene mountains. So many adventures for friends , very cozy and safe for families, god i love the place.

  • HillView Farm is a very nice remote spot in Mavanalla Masinagudi. It has a fantastic view of Mudumalai Hills and the fringes of the Mudmalai Tiger reserve. The accommodation is a typical farm setup and has all the basic amenities to have a peaceful stay away from the daily churn of life in the city. Overall a great place for animal lovers and children.

We are family looking forward to hosting you at a comfortable and cozy house that is set amidst a carpet of green, overlooked by dense forest and the occasional witness to wildlife such as the Indian Gaur and the Barking Deer. With ample space to go on walks, treks and taking in nature, this is an ideal place for a blissful weekend getaway!
  • Away from main road, surrounded by tea gardens. The place is must visit if you are looking for peace and tranquillity . With lots of peaks to conquer, it's a paradise for trekkers with pleasant temperature. So, pack your trekking shoes, sun cream, (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN)s to enjoy the nearby trek. The house is beautifully built with Stephen(Shawn's dad) experience in building homes. Soon after you admire the cosy and comfortable rooms with all basic amenities, one gets to taste the delicious home-made food cooked by Shawn's mother. The vegetables used in cooking are from their own organic farm . All in all, it was wonderful experience with such helpful and caring host. They even arranged us guide to go for local trek. It would be good if you travel by your own vehicle as the place is far from Kotagiri. Otherwise, you can book taxi for travelling to ooty and other places(URL HIDDEN)

  • This was our first visit to Kothagiri area (though we have visited Ooty/Coonoor many times in the past). This place still has the old world charm that existed almost 30 years ago. The homestay is away from typical commercial establishments and set in the midst of a tea estate with a nice view all around. The stay was very comfortable because the rooms were spacious and airy. Wonderful support and guidance from the super friendly family which runs this place. Shawn and his brother also guided us in terms of places to see nearby and helped us understand the environment better - about the animal movements in the area, about places which most tourists wouldn't find information from the web. Though my daughter is afraid of dogs, within a day, she was quite comfortable with Pax and Lucky! Don't forget to ask Shawn's dad, Stephen, to talk to you about the wonderful homes he has built across this region for the past two and half decades. Shawn himself is a wonderful photographer and both he and his brother are keen musicians while their mother excels at churning out great food! Ideal place to stay if you are looking for some peace and quiet and quality family time!

  • Stayed at Niligiris Calling for 2 nights with my wife, my friend and his wife. The pictures in the listing give a very good idea of what the property and surroundings are like. Getting to the house from the main road is slightly tricky, as there isn't a 'proper' road to go on (by 'proper', I mean tarred. What is present is a mud road with challenging sections). Stephen was kind enough to help us out as we were a little worried about damaging the underside of our car, but it is certainly possible to navigate the stretch yourself as long as you are careful. The atmosphere in the house is the homeliest I have ever experienced away from home. During the interactions with Stephen, Anupa and Shawn (which were plenty) all of us felt really comfortable and at ease. All of them are warm and friendly, and it took hardly any time for us to to gel well together. The house itself is beautiful. Interiors are classy and elegant. The rooms provided are spacious and can easily accommodate the listed number of people. There are 2 dogs on the premises as well. While Pax (a rottweiler) can come across as a bit scary and aggressive at first, after some time it becomes a pleasure to be around her, with her playfulness and exuberance. Lucky (a labrador) is much more docile and calm, but is also a good companion. Of course, I say this being a dog-person. My friend Manoj, being a bit scared of dogs, maintained a safe distance from Pax at all times. The food provided (we had 2 dinners and 2 breakfasts with Stephen and family) was exquisite. Anupa is an incredible cook. A full account of the food would lengthen this review way too much, so I'll just say that missing out on Anupa's food would be a big loss. Special mention to Stephen as well, for making some of the dishes just that little bit tastier. Stephen, having been in Ooty for 31 years (IIRC), is very knowledgeable about Ooty and the surrounding areas and is always available to talk and provide advice regarding the sightseeing options. Shawn too, was helpful in this regard. Overall, it was a fantastic experience. We couldn't be happier with our choice, and would recommend staying at Nilgiris Calling if you are looking to stay in/around Ooty. ========= TL;DR version Lovely location, lovely hosts, lovely food. Staying here is recommended, 100%. ==========

  • Nilgiris Calling is not a home stay. It's indeed a home. Within just a short span of 2 days, we felt we knew this family for so long. The connection and homely feeling that Shawn and his parents - Stephen uncle and Anupa aunty provide is beyond any price you can pay. Our kids were so naughty inside the house, but the hosts were so kind and adjusting to tolerate their behavior. Aunty cooks yummy food, we could not resist ourselves from overeating. And above all, location is superb. Set amidst the serene and quite surroundings of tea gardens, this is an awesome place to spend your holidays. I am sure I would like to go there again.

  • Tucked in green tea gardens of Kotagiri, Shawn's homestay is a very homely and exhilarating experience. We look forward to visit Kotagiri again and strongly recommend Shawn's homestay for corporates, friends and families to rewind, relax and for creative brainstorming. Do not forget to take the trek in Nilgiri mountains through the Pandava's temple at the mountain top and tea gardens. Highly recommended.

  • Our very first home stay in India with Mr Stephen Jacob & family in Their abode Nilgiri Calling at Kotagiri turned out to be memorable. Clean home, simple choicest and variety food, friendly nature, knowledge about various topics so you can chat on, good travel tips, passion for cooking and serving with affection, a home with lots of antiques, we loved it.

A beautiful house in a quiet, serene hilly surrounding adjacent to a forest; with a fantastic view of an undulating landscape and an amazing night sky, and yet only 10 kms away from Ooty town. A place to absorb the true essence of the Nilgiris.
Two bedrooms, drawing room; dining hall, full kitchen, two western type bathrooms, store/helper room, open sit-out. Fully furnished with crockery, cutlery, fridge, oven, TV.
No neighbors at all. The home is private and tucked away for comfort. Here's a short list of things to do: * Walk/Drive down to neighboring villages * Go for a trek to the adjacent forest or the Hill opposite * Get a tour of Ooty on request Eating joints that we recommend are Shinkows for the best chinese food, Sidewalk Cafe for the best firewood pizzas, Planters Paradise for malabar paratha and chicken curry or Pankaj Bhojanalay for Rajasthani thalis. And do visit the Lake.
  • This place is just amazing ! It was more than what we expected. Calm and serene.. away from noise.. the house was well maintained. We were impressed with the staff too as they were always ready to meet our needs. We didn't face any problem with power as well. Would definitely want to go back here, had an amazing stay!

Hill View Farm Animal Refuge is run by a registered animal welfare charity, India Project for Animals and Nature (IPAN) and is the permanent and peaceful home to 150 rescued animals. Your payment via airbnb goes 100% and directly to support IPAN.
The Bird's Nest is above the IPAN veterinary clinic on the Hill View Farm. The veterinary clinic is run by seasonally visiting volunteers and provides free veterinary care for animals in the area. The Bird's Nest is work in progress, consisting of two very basic rooms with wooden planks as flooring and no ceiling under the roof tiles. You will also have the occasional bird to fly in through the cracks between the roof tiles to visit you (think about a tree house!) Bathroom is newly built with separate toilet and shower facilities but access to the bathroom is from the ground level and from outside. The room is not suitable for small children or people with physical disabilities because of the steep stairs up. This is simple and rural and you need to be prepared for some bugs in the rooms.
We are at the foothills of the beautiful Nilgiris hills in a small rural village but just one hour drive from Ooty and two hours from Mysore. The Mudumalai Wildlife Sanctuary is a 20 min drive away.
  • This was such a great experience for us. What made it special of course is seeing the vision of the Farm, cuddling with puppies, petting and grooming horses and spending time with your beautiful daughters. What a big task you have taken on and you do it with such grace. Thank you from both of us and the animals of India!

  • As a bunch of animal lovers, my friends and I fell in love with the place as soon as we reached here. We thought finding this place would be a bit difficult but this seems be a popular place among the locals here. Though one has to go slightly inside towards the forest from the main road, with the help of locals it was easy to find it. We were greeted by a whole lot of rescued dogs who were very friendly and jumped all over us asking for attention. There were many other rescued animals like horses, donkeys, cows as well. The farm and the shelter itself is very tastefully done up place and then there was the cottage that was our stay, which was small cozy and beautiful Also had a kitchen. We decided to cook. The staff there were so helpful. They helped us get all the groceries and vegetables from near by shops. Ilona and Nigel arrived later along with their two happy children and we were chatting up with them quite a bit. They welcomed us to their private home which was again another beautiful place. They even let us use their kitchen to cook and made us feel completely at home. They also put a small bonfire for us at night. This place is surrounded by hills and its pleasantly cool at night. You will wake up to a beautiful sunrise with horses gazing and occasional running if you are lucky. The sunset is also equally beautiful with a orange sky and plenty of birds sighting including peacocks. We were not lucky enough to spot any elephants around this time but they sure do walk around here. All in all a beautiful experience and my friends and I will definitely be visiting this place very often.

  • A perfect place to have a rejuvenating and fulfilling time. A place run by a lovely couple doing their bit for the animals and nature. Staying here not only lets you enjoy a different level of peacefulness but also makes you feel fulfilled since the accommodation charges are used directly to run NGO. The rooms were perfect. Neat and clean. As well the detached toilet and WC. As mentioned, the toilet is downstairs. The entire farm is very neat and clean with many friendly dogs and horses who roam around freely. Few are in their own enclosures as well. In the night, the area gets as peaceful as any place can get. Were a lovely 2 days that we spent there and would highly recommend this place to people of love nature and animals. Also, there is no internet connection and mobile network (except bsnl), but there is coffee day 10m away (via off-road drive) with free wifi.

  • It was my first homestay through AirBnB and we couldn't have asked for more.. the place is lapped in Madumalai national park.. for those considering it just be aware that the place is around 20 kms away from Ooty.. a total bliss for those who want to stay close to nature.. a view to die for.. and a pack of dogs that one would take no time to fall in love with.. on top of it throw in the ponies and horses and the other rescued animals.. it's a total bliss for any animal lover.. Note: please consider it if you are traveling by your own vehicle as the last mile can be tough to cover..

  • Thanks Otter family..From the time we reached to the time we left IPAN....we were one with the nature. The place is good for sighting animals in the wild wherein the place itself is a refuge for Animals. Had a great opportunity to meet Dr.Nigel and had a good interaction. He gave great insights of IPAN and the place around. We were comfortable from the word go. We had helpful staff from Joshua to Mahadevan to madhavan....We infact used the inhouse kitchen and made breakfast for all during our stay. Being with the company of Animals which were treated with care and with the place looking like a second home for them gave us a different perspective towards life. We learnt a lot on how to treat Animals and to maintain serenity around. I would highly recommend this place for anyone who wants peace and loves nature. Ilona and Nigel are hosts to remember for life. They enquired us in between our stay of how we are. Wish to meet their daughters on our next stay. Thanks once again

  • You can ask for nothing more if you are a nature and animal lover. This place is almost 1 km hike from main road.. But a nature lover will defenatly love the walk cos of scenic feast of hills and greenery around you. You will not be able to go with your vehicle unless you are on a bike or car with good ground clearance. There is a restaurant beside the ccd on the road side which provides very good food. This place is a animal refuge centre with lot of rescued animals like dogs, pony's, donkeys etc.. Animals are very friendly and we played with the animals during our stay.. The view from the place we stayed justifies the name 'birds nest'.. Truly enjoyed our entire stay..

Nestled on a private mountain in ooty overlooking the man and madness vs nature lies the exclusive heritage 3 bedroom villa. Equipped enough to give you the peace and tranquility of the western ghats with your own private chef on the rocks!!!
A place so high up and seated comfortably in the mountains. You would experience the Western Ghats at their best. Wake up to nature so calm and peaceful, away from all the chaos of a city. With a stunning view from the property, you'd almost wish to never leave the place. Don't take our word for granted, come and visit the place. To make your stay extremely comfortable you have an in-house chef who makes delectable dishes. Wishing for a comfortable, cozy, pleasant stay within nature, stay with us and feel at home.

  • One hell of a beautiful place. Soooo scenic. Just 10 mins away from the ooty town me and my friends got the best place around here. Dr. Dinesh is a well travelled ,communicative and friendly host. The chef kumar s food was mind blowing. It literally made our trip. Very easy to access. One of the best places around ooty undoubtedly and absolute value for money. The sprawling lawn area around add beauty to beauty. I strongly recommend this place for nature and peace lovers and also family get togethers.

  • If you are coming to Ooty/Conoor, you absolutely must stay here. Casa Bison had everything we could need, and the location was incredibly picturesque and scenic. I came with 5 of my other coworkers and we had an awesome time here. First of all, the communication with Dr. Dinesh was great. He is very responsive and prompt, and made sure to let us know of all the amenities and options before arriving. The house manager was there when we arrived, and they helped us find the location quickly and easily. The view from the house was absolutely incredible - you could see the rolling hills and valley from the property. Our group took many pictures from around the property. The inside of the house was equally great - for our group of 6, it was perfect as there were three rooms with large beds and ensuite washrooms in each. The dining area was nice for us to sit and eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We arranged to have a cook for dinner and breakfast at a reasonable price, who made delicious food quickly for us! It was so nice to wake up and have ready made tea as well. There was also a bonfire arranged and set up for us outside, we really enjoyed having the fire on a cool night beneath the stars. This place is about halfway between Ooty and Conoor, which was a perfect location as we wanted to cover both. The location was safe, and the weather was extremely pleasant in the middle of June - no AC or fans needed. It can get a bit chilly, so be prepared with jackets, but there were really nice soft blankets in each of the rooms, so I did not feel cold at all during the night. Even though we came in the middle of monsoon season, we got really lucky and the sun was shining and weather was beautiful for our stay! If you are considering this place for your booking, I highly recommend it as an international traveler who has stayed at many AirBnbs. From the communication with Dr. Dinesh, the additional amenities, and wonderful location, you will have a great time at this stay.

  • Absolutely brilliant experience. A few km from ooty but worth every penny. Host was highly invested in our comfort and the caretaker was a gem too. Couldn't have asked for a better accommodation. There were 6 of us but you can easily fit in twice the number in this place. Only grievance was not sticking around for another night.

  • It was very pleasant stay. I stayed with my family for 2 nights. The house is very well maintained and surrounding views from balcony and terrace are amazing. It's perfect place for holiday with family of 6-9. Mr Kumar was very helpful and cocked nice South Indian meals for us. The location is bit far from Ooty and its takes around 30-40 minutes so to sight seeing needs to be planned accordingly. Overall awesome experience. I would love to stay again in future.

  • Shridevi is a great host. She called us before our arrival to ensure we had all the directions we needed to reach the property. She even took our meal preferences, so Kumar the caretaker could cook dinner of our choice. The property was well maintained and in a wonderful condition. The views around the house did not disappoint us and exactly matched our expectations. Kumar is a wonderful cook and makes every effort to cook as per our requirements. He also takes care of laundry and plumbing needs if required! We highly recommend the property to both young and old, family and large groups. We travelled with extended family and senior citizens - and everyone enjoyed their stay, finding it very comfortable. Thank you Shredevi, we will visit again!

A British bungalow offering 4 double bedrooms and 2 family bedrooms. Small restaurant serves homely food (Indian, Chinese and continental). Room tariff is for 2 persons per night. Entire bungalow can be booked on a special rate. extra person is charged rs 400/- per night. Maximum 3 adults only in one room.
Extracts of a 1920’s journal describes the building as an “unlikely combination of southern England and Australian stone cottage with pitched roof surrounded by trees, scattered along a leafy winding lane and tall eucalyptus stands covering the otherwise barren hill top"".Today it is a heritage building restored to balance contemporary living without ruining its 1917 vintage architecture. The bungalow has 6 bedrooms. 4 double bedrooms and 2 family rooms. Tariff is mentioned for 2 adults only.Extra persons are chargeable. You can book either the entire bungalow or individual rooms, let us know. Our cook comes highly recommended and makes lovely home cooked South Indian food. We love to explore the mountains and you can join us on short hikes and treks. We could also arrange visits to nearby villages and farms. Let us know in advance.

  • This was a wonderful place to stay with scenic views. Secluded enough to be private, yet it is at a walk-able distance from the highway. The staff is friendly, courteous, very welcoming and helpful. The food served here is simple, but absolutely delicious. I had the poori sabzi for breakfast, and dhal fry, phulka and omlette for dinner. Very fresh and absolutely delicious. The room and the bathroom and the overall place is kept very neat and tidy. It's super cost and nice. Do take note, that whatever food you want for dinner, you need to inform the staff before 6 pm. However they do check in with you and ask as well. Also there is no facility yet to include cashless payments. I'd suggest the owner to look into this. Apart from these minor points, this place is a must visit place if you're heading to Ooty or Coonoor. Ketty is a nice place to walk around and enjoy the quiet and tranquil life.

Nianna Estate (formerly Karthik Estate) is a beautiful stone dwelling surrounded by luscious tea leaf terraces, organic vege-farm and fresh water stream. The estate is located in the quiet town of Deenaty close to the Sivan Temple. The best way to reach the estate is via the Oooty - Kaguchi road. If you are looking for a plantation experience then Nianna is just the place for you. Here you wake up to the fresh air of the Nilgiris, are surrounded by endless views and there are no disturbances.
The Plantation House is located amidst 30 acres of lush Broken Orange Pekoe (BOP) leaves. The house is the focal point of the estate but there is great trekking in all directions. To the north lies multiple terraces of tea leaves which once climbed leads to a potable fresh water stream. To the south is a fully-organic vegetable farm and tea weighing area with staff quarters. The house itself has a bedroom on the upstairs and downstairs levels. These 2 fabulous rooms sleep 4 people comfortably. Both rooms have en-suite bathrooms. There is a living room with a TV downstairs and a sitting room upstairs. There are 2 outdoor viewing decks on the north and south side, from here wild animals such as bisons and deer can be spotted. The house has a cosy dining room that seats 4 comfortably, the kitchen is full-service and open for you to use. There is a powder room attached to the dining room. We have a washing machine on property. For in-house dining, a chef is available at a small fee. Nianna is the ideal place to catch up with some quiet time, play family games, dive into a great book or take in the freshest air you will ever experience.
The neighbourhood is a very charming place. Kaguchi has some lovely tea shops with locally made food. Deenaty is a very quiet and sparsely populated village, do not expect to find any large retail shops here, in fact we advise you to bring your own consumables. There is a local town in walking distance (5 mins) from the Estate with houses and shops. There also neighbouring estates.
  • Nice place to chill, if you are looking for calm and peace on the hills then this is the place you would want to be in. It's isolated from the city and has a nice view. Very well ventilated and a great care taker to take care of all your needs.

  • Amazing place to stay. Little inside. Check in before it gets dark as place is little interior. I would suggest park your vehicle at Shiva temple and ask dinesh to pick you up from there. As road is little bumpy closer to cottage. Otherwise everything is perfect. Good place to escape from city paced life. Recommended for family, friends and girl gang trip. Safe place to stay.

  • Hi, My friends and I loved Nianna Tea House. Our stay was made more enjoyable by the really helpful caretaker, Dinesh. The meals he cooked for us were simple, homely and delicious. We have absolutely zero complaints about our stay in Nianna. The place is situated amidst a beautiful tea-estate and an organic farm where vegetables are grown. One has a 360 degree view of the hills from the house. I personally did not pay attention on how to get to this place. We requested Dinesh to send us a cab and he did so very kindly. During our stay, we had power cuts in the place. Especially once in the night. None of us really had a problem with it. We found it rather thrilling to be there in the dark talking about spirits, with all the lightening and thunder to accompany us. But yes, our phones did suffer without charge. Just a small request to enable the house with a generator/inverter for any future fussy guests who might complain about it. A special mention: This place is absolutely safe for women travelers. We were 5 girls and felt absolutely safe, secure and well-cared for. Thanks Guys. :)

    Atul2017-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • If you want you stay peaceful and relaxing, then this is not the place. Maintenance meaning itself not known to these people. You will be treated with such dirty water for all your needs, hell experience is for your food preparation they use the same dirty water.

  • We were a girls gang of 5 and felt extremely safe. The care taker(Dinesh) was awesome. He took us on a small trek around the property and went out of his way to keep us comfortable. His daughter Preethi and his dog (that we named Tommy!!) were adorable and kept us good company. The food was ok. The toilets were decent. The rooms and bed linen could have been kept better. The climate was great and we were totally engulfed in nature. Our favorite spot was the balcony in first floor. Overall we had a good time and would recommend this place for a night or 2.

  • Our stay at reflections was quite satisfactory. Prabhakar, the host was very helpful, accommodating and approachable. The rooms were as seen in the pics posted and we were happy about the cleanliness within it. The view of the surroundings in the night is relaxing and chilling (@ 8-10 degrees). The food served was yummy and on time. Prabhakar also gives you an honest opinion of the places to visit and avoid all the unnecessary ones which saves time. Since he is a localite, you can ask anything about ooty and its offering for tourists. He was available at all times on a phone call which makes life easy during the stay. Overall we had a good time at reflections home stay. Looking forward to return in the distant future. Thank you Prabhakar, for a good stay experience.

  • This was my second time in Ooty and first with Airbnb. We had rented a house with cook for my prior stay with family & relatives (more than 20 in number) and I was hoping to have an even better experience this time around and was willing to pay some premium for that. This time, we were 8 guests in all (family & immediate relatives). Prabhu was helpful, approachable, and honest. The rooms were clean, well maintained and the place looked exactly as it is in the pictures. The food served was good to taste. The location is partly scenic (though Ooty lake is right opposite, it lacks maintenance, and the trees hide the view a bit) and is only a 10-min walk from Ooty bus stand, and railway station. For the ones relying on public transport, this is an awesome choice. For others who prefer a really scenic setting, you may be disappointed (though it is not fair to expect that at an economical price). Though I generally agree with the positive reviews posted by other guests, I noticed several downsides too: - The menu lacks South Indian food options and the price is quite high (similar to that of restaurants) though service in dining area is sub-par. - The complimentary morning breakfast of bread-toast/jam/butter/omelet was not to everyone’s liking, and the quantity was minimal. - As the guest house is an extension of Prabhu's home, I could not enjoy an exclusivity and had to bump into his family or staff at kitchen. An independent hand wash is mandatory. - As house flies are common in the season/area, a fly catcher is mandatory so guests have a pleasant dining experience. - Guests should be communicated upfront if they cannot use water for washing clothes. - It is important to ensure that communication from any other family member to the guests is professional and courteous. - Geyser/hot water is available only at specific time slots; though it is mentioned in the House Manual), this was inconvenient. - The place itself is set quite high and we had to walk up a few storeys to reach our rooms. Though it was a unique experience, it was quite tiring. We had to keep an extra eye on toddlers to ensure their safety.

    Yugarajan2016-05-10T00:00:00Z
  • The stay was nice and the location is central yet secluded. The view is great. Prabhu was a fantastic host, he let us use his scooter for sightseeing without any cost. He answered to all our queries and requests. All and all a cozy and homely place to stay.

  • I enjoyed my stay here because of two main reasons. The view from the room and roof was awesome. And it is right next to a very good restaurant. The host is prompt and responsive. It is best suited for a group of friends or a couple. But if you have kids, this might not be the best place for you.

  • Property is well maintained, sufficient space, good ventilation and amazing view from one of the window and terrace. Shekar is nice person to deal with. If towels, TV and gas connection was provided then it will really be a value add. Very nice resort is nearby which provides very good food in its restaurant at reasonable price. Only issue is the place is bit far from main market or bus stop and is not walkable.

    Manish2017-06-14T00:00:00Z
  • It's a decent place with very basic amenities. There's no gas connection for the stove, no DtH subscription for the TV, water is not provided. Furniture is good and very comfortable. The service and house keeping can be better. Owner is friendly and helped us with tickets for the toy train.

    Praveen2017-04-16T00:00:00Z
  • Very good place for family. We didn't use TV but its present. The view from window is very good. The next door restaurant Kluney Manor is quite good as well. All breakfast, lunch dinner can be done there. Average cost per head for lunch was 350. We had car so don't know much if its very close to market, but Ooty is a small place so 10-15 min walk should take you to market.

Dovedale cottage is spacious and tastefully done in contemporary style, located near Stone House very close to heart of Ooty town. There are 5 bedrooms, 2 living areas, balconies and a kitchen spread out over 2 floors.
Dovedale Cottage is located near Stone House around 2 km from Charing Cross, the heart of Ooty town. It is a modern house with 5 bedrooms, 2 large living/lounge areas, balconies, dining space and a well equipped kitchen. Ideal for larger groups who are looking for a family / friends group vacation in Ooty. You will have the entire cottage to yourself so privacy is ensured. There is a caretaker for basic housekeeping. Kitchen is equipped with cutlery, gas stove, induction, microwave, sandwich maker, fridge etc. We have Wi fi as well that you can use for free.
  • At the outset, the cottage is as shown in the photo. We were a family of 14 and had booked the whole cottage for 2 days. The pros of the cottage was that it was spacious and it looked as in picture and its close proximity to Ooty Center. The whole experience was spoilt by Management/Maintenance. 1. Bathroom was dirty and flush was not working in 3 of the 5 toilets. 2. No hot water in 2 of the 5 rooms 3. Dirty Linen in Bedroom and the overall feel of the house was poor maintenance. 4. Water flow in bath taps was very slow (it was trickling). On enquiry, was informed that motor has been given for repair and we have to make do with the situation. 5. The cavalier attitude of the staff- they were not very cooperating and it looked like we were being done a favor for free whereas we shelled out 25k for 2 days stay. 6. Frequent power cuts- It is not in control of management but an Inverter would have been much appreciated. We had stayed for 5 days in Sterling Elk Hill and when compared, this was a dampener of our vacation. Have decided to never go by the pictures and it is much better to stay at hotel than at any private lodging.

  • The worst hotel/home stay of my 25 years of travelling and staying in hotels/home stays.... entire description given on the site is wrong. This home stay is at an almost unreachable place. We were in a 19 seater Swaraj Mazda and it was highly precarious for the driver to drive in a very narrow lane with sharp & steep turns We were 14 people (4 families) and have booked 5 rooms.... the rooms were smelly... lot of mosquitoes and there was no arrangement for mosquito repellents.... stinking bathrooms, dirty towels, no backup for electricity... broken toilet seats.... dirty utensils in the kitchen.... and the worst part - dirty & smelly water in the bathrooms... 3 of our family members got rashes on skin due to the stinky water (it was smelling like sewer water) When we complained to the owner, who lives nearby, he did not even care to come and resolve the issues The doors of the rooms were just glass doors and ladies were not feeling safe, the bathroom windows were also broken No Wi-fi as advertised NO GUEST SHOULD EVER VENTURE TO THIS HOME-STAY WE WANT THE REFUND OF THE ENTIRE AMOUNT PAID.... PERIOD.

a 3 bedroom villa just 9 km from the bustling centre of Coonoor, and a half hour drive to Ooty. With red tiles and wide glass windows, it looks out onto blue hills, green valleys, tea gardens and a (sometimes) waterfall! Swing gently on the patio and enjoy the view...Heaven!
There are 3 fully-appointed bedrooms, each with a TV & Satellite connection. The Master Bedroom faces the valley and has a double bed with a seating area. The second bedroom faces a tea garden and also has a double bed. The third bedroom faces the rear garden and has two double beds. All the bedrooms have bathrooms en suite with fully functioning amenities.
Coonoor is in the Nilgiris – the land above the clouds! This picture postcard district is situated in the southern state of Tamil Nadu, India, with an average elevation of 1500 to 2000 metres. The Nilgiris is home to a wide variety of exotic flora & fauna and forms part of an international biosphere reserve. Besides wonderful walks in the cool Blue Mountains with its majestic trees, fragrant flowers and clear fresh-water springs, you can go boating, horse riding, play golf, tennis & badminton, or indulge in exotic massages & yoga classes. There is also wonderful shopping to be done and marvellous restaurants & cafes to eat at!
  • Thank you for letting us stay at your beautiful home between 22nd and 25th May 2015. We had the best time at your house with your ever accommodating cook and help. They did a great job in keeping things tidy and organized. The Board games were really great! In fact, we ended up not leaving your house our entire holiday! The views are stunning! Sitting out there, we thought, life could not get better than this! So thank you again for this lovely experience. We will be in touch shortly with another booking :)

  • Had an amazing experience. The bungalow is located 9 kms from Coonoor on top of a hill and is surrounded by tea gardens. The approach road is a little ordinary and hard to find, going through a village but as soon as you climb up the hill, the landscape changes drastically. Amazing view of valley and tea gardens from the patio. Place was kept clean with all the basic amenities. Razia is an amazing cook and made awesome dinner and breakfast for us. Ralliah dam is at a walking distance and a must visit. We could have spent almost entire vacation at the Bunglow and in the surrounding area. It was welcome break from the overcrowded 'view-points' and markets in Coonoor and Ooty. All in all, it was a perfect vacation for us. Highly recommended.

  • Very good stay and experience. The best part of this place is the location. If you stay here, I dont think you need to go and see any other view point in Conoor or Ooty.

  • Paradise awaiting one to visit. Amazing place, amazing location, amazing views, great host and caretakers and the home cooked food nailed everything on the awesomeness wall.

  • This was one of the best home stays I have ever been to. It was amazingly beautiful and the weather was much better than the other local areas. The food cooked was really good by the house helps and all other important needs were taken care off. Thanks Ayesha, we loved your property, your antique furniture was a highlight. Would love to visit again!

  • One of a kind!!! Amazing views, great home. Minor irritants: overpriced food, tiny outdated TVs etc. 0verall: Highly recommended...

When you choose Ooty for your holiday, you've got something in the back of your mind! The spectacular Blue Mountain views with lush green nature everywhere, in a pollution-free, quite & clean ambience , the chill climate and many more...we make your vacation - a memorable stay away from home. We provide you with a beautiful view of the Ooty Racecourse and the home is a 2BHK located close to the town yet serene with a good view of the misty mountains & the town.
At our home your vacation will feel like a perfect vacation- a memorable stay away from home. All We provide you with is a beautiful view of the Ooty Racecourse and the home is located close to the town yet serene. We provide you nothing else but a clean 2BHK home, with warm quilts, hot water for your shower, a good view of the misty mountains & the town, for the best price.. if you prefer we can arrange for good food at a reasonable price based on availability.
A peaceful, serene home with a quiet neighborhood .. you get to view the ooty race-course and small farm lands around, feel green all around you ..The distance between our Homestay and all sight seeing places in Ooty. It's 2.6 km from Ooty Lake, 3.7 km from the Government Botanical Garden and 10 km from the summit of Doddabetta mountain.
  • It's new property, house is clean and spacious. The view is good. However as city becomes cooler at night, there are no room heaters/warmers, so be prepared for that. The house keeper was very helpful, and prepared some wonderful light dinner for us. Most of the amenities mentioned on airbnb for the property are not available: Like TV is not functional, microwave was present, but was not working. It was told to us, it is because of three phase having issues in the area. It's a good to place to relax, away from city noise. Don't expect much from host, if you try to point few things which are not working or absent in the house, he would become rude. We were being asked to leave the house and find some other arrangements next day. Suitable for bachelors and friends re-union get together. Though will not suggest for Families with kids and parents.

  • Office colleagues wanted to visit Ooty and we chose Mohnish's place based on its proximity to the heart of the city. We drove down from Bengaluru so the location wasn't an issue. But for people taking the train or bus, the railway station as well as the bus stand are quite close by the house. We found the home well maintained and very spacious and clean. One can glance at the race-course right out of the window as well as enjoy a refreshing breeze while lazing out at the terrace. Kloney Mane is a very good restaurant right off the street near the home. Mohnish was extremely helpful in every way and even suggested places we could explore for food. We had some wonderful food at Blue Hill restaurant. We had a nice time at Ooty and are thankful to Mohnish for hosting us at his place. We would suggest people looking to stay at the heart of Ooty close to the market to check out this place and enjoy Mohnish's warm hospitality.

  • The place is great looking and exactly located in the city which is helpful in terms of commutation. Host Mohnish and his wife is helpful in suggesting new places to explore. If we need home type food, there is a maid who can assist you with reasonable food. Adding towels for shower, drinking water and rectifying few amenities like TV volume will make this stay a value for money. Otherwise it is overpriced as of now for its amenities.

  • Should have kept some blankets for the extra beds that are available. As it was very cold and without blankets, it was very hard to sleep at night. Apart from this, all the other facilities are very good.

    Prasanth2017-04-16T00:00:00Z
  • This place is located at a good location in Ooty. Close to all the main places. I went there with my family and we liked the place. It is clean, well maintained and exactly as is shown in the picture. Mohnish contacted me the day I booked the place and provided the directions to the place one night before we were to (URL HIDDEN) finding the place was not difficult at all.Enough blankets even if it gets too cold. Kitchen could do with some more amenities but there is a restaurant right next to the place so food was not a problem. Overall, a good stay!

  • This is an awesome place. The owner is very friendly. Just one thing you need to know is how to reach there. Navigate to Kluney Manor and the homestay is just besides that. The place is very scenic and beautiful. Totally worth it.

    Abhishek2017-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • Nice place for a small group of people. Please make sure to stock and carry your own drinking water, towel, basic necessities. No gas so you can't cook but if you ask the caretaker they'll cook. They cook very small quantities so be very specific about it when you order. Very centrally located so you can access any part of Ooty easily. Very prompt host so anything he's there to help. Over all had a great stay !

This colonial-style bungalow located up in the Nilgiris at 6000 feet near Coonoor is ideal for weekend as well as weeklong getaways for couples, friends, and families who are looking for a respite from city life.
Situated in the safe environs of charming Wellington, Kalptaru is a short-and-scenic car ride away from the lush hill stations of Coonoor, Kotagiri, and Ooty -- towns that are speckled with British-era churches, tea plantations, and botanical gardens. The house comes with a well manicured garden that is home to a wide variety of fruit trees, such as cherimoya and avocado, as well as many exotic birds like the Nilgiri Flycatcher and Emerald Dove. Fixed meals served at this home feature fresh ingredients sourced from a private vegetable garden. Occupancy - maximum occupancy is 2 adults + 2 children (above 13yrs) Breakfast - breakfast is included in rates.
Take the heritage mountain train up to Ooty. Hike to popular spots such as Dolphin’s Nose and Lamb’s Rock. Picnic at the Botanical Gardens and Sim’s Park. Enjoy boating at Ooty Lake where several iconic films have been shot over the years. Request the hosts to take you on their preferred trekking routes as well as help plan visits to nearby wildlife sanctuaries.
