  • Susan's location provides the perfect spot for relaxing after work, or just plain relaxing. I took a stroll in the woods at dusk on my last evening there and can't believe I hadn't done it sooner. I'd recommend this private suite to anyone looking to enjoy nature, sleep in a luxurious bed, do some writing, explore your artistic self...or... as I did, simply do all of the above.

  • Susan's place was perfect for us - secluded and quiet, but with great food within a quick drive - and a great escape while touring colleges in the area. Susan was easy to communicate with and quick to respond. One of our best AirBnB experiences yet!

  • If you want privacy, peace and tranquility in springtime, this is the place to go. If you want great communication with a host, Susan is the one for you. The setting is wonderful, and the hospitality is also. You cannot go wrong with this location and these accommodations!

    James2017-06-08T00:00:00Z
  • Everything we could have needed for a pleasurable visit was provided by Susan. Tea, coffee and most importantly a quiet place to wind down after busy business trip days. The space is exactly as described. If anything the home is even more impressive than the photos show.

  • Susan was a wonderful hostess and her home was a delightful place to stay. Listing was as described- gorgeous and peaceful- a great sanctuary in the woods. The neighborhood is lovely, quiet, and made for a great stay. Susan was very considerate and has truly thought of everything necessary to make a guest feel, not just comfortable, but welcome. She certainly had readied the space beyond my expectations! I was staying with her for work and did not have time to enjoy the local area as much as I would have liked but will definitely return to the area to hike and visit the many local farms. Would truly be a relaxing and maybe even inspiring retreat for someone who loves spending time in nature and it was a great place to wind down post work. Thanks for a lovely stay and introduction to the area.

  • I owe Susan a lot of thankfulness. She's a fantastic host and her house is very lovely. We had a wonderful stay in there. So I decided to describe our wonderful experience in detail, instead of short brief or formulaic words, though it will challenge me very hardly to write in English. Susan is a trusted and warmth person. Every question of the house, location and facilities was answered immediately and accurately, every thing needed was prepared in detail before we arrived by our host. Then, there's no need to ask for anything, everything you need is just there, you only need to remember where it is! We very enjoyed that went upstairs or downstairs time to time, to share the big kitchen and dinner table, washer and dryer, freely and comfortably, just like home! She arranged every detail for our safety and convenience. When we first arrived, I found Susan has been waiting for us for hours, I suppose she cancelled some appointment for waiting us. How nice! A feeling of thankfulness full my heart as looking back now! Her house is very tidy and spacious, our bedroom is big. Actually, we occupied a whole level, including a beautiful main bedroom, a double beds room, a bathroom, and plenty of living space. We chose the double beds room, with a big desk in it and still spacious. The house and our room is well decorated and with beautiful furnitures. Kevin and I like the style of decorations, a style of artist. All the description of the house in Airbnb is quite exactly. The only thing that the host forgot to tell us is how spacious it is! For me, it's a real place to enjoy peaceful life, especially for one month or more. It makes plenty of time and space to think and review your life, while listening the wind through the woods. Ido feel something changed inside of my mind. So does Kevin. What is magic! The neighborhood what I felt is good. I felt people living there know each other well when I first came the restaurant. Susan told us they support each other and watch each other' back. They are very gentlemanly to strangers like us. And this is the first time we saw the view of northern country. We just like it.the town is very clean and quiet. Every house has beautiful tidy yard. I saw secret fog raise in the field early dawn. I saw honey bird kissing flowers again. How lucky! I just want to express my gratitude again to Susan, for he warmth welcome, and nice arrangements. I do apologize for poor English and sending my thankfulness late. All the best wishes for you, Sue!

  • Wonderful precious secluded spot. Great breath of fresh air. Clean, quiet, great communication with hosts!

    Kate2017-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • It felt so good to be at Susan's peaceful house in the woods. She was warm and welcoming and our space was quiet and private. We loved exploring the hiking trails and swimming in the beautiful lake nearby. We enjoyed several restaurants that Susan recommended and also savored eating our morning cereal with fresh local berries on our little deck surrounded by herb and flower gardens and overlooking the woods. Everything was clean and comfortable and very much as pictured. I highly recommend the experience.

Clear View Camp is the fun and funky fusion of a camp, a cabin and a tiny home. If you've ever wondered if a tiny home is for you, give Clear View Camp a chance. The structure measures 112 sq. ft. surrounded by 30+ miles of hiking and walking trails. Inside or outside staying at Clear View Camp a is rustic and relaxing experience in the woods of Southern NH. The camp can sleep 2 people in the loft, 2 on the floor on mats and has several tent sites.
Clear View Camp is a converted artist's cabin. The space measures 112 sq. ft. which is utilized with a loft bed. It is styled as an innovative and woodsy tiny home with ample storage and a creative floor plan including a seating area and wood stove for heating. As with many other camps, this camp does not have electricity, however access to power can be arranged at a secure location less than a ten minute walk from the camp. The camp does not possess a kitchen or bathroom but does offer an easily accessible and well-kept outhouse adjacent to the building and clean, potable water along with basins, towels, soap and basic dinnerware for two (skf, plate and bowl). Essentially, it's camping in a tiny home. During the winter months, Windblown is in full operation as Southern New Hampshire's premier cross country skiing and snowshoeing destination. For a successful stay at Clear View you and your guests will access the camp by either one of these methods - snowshoeing or skiing - as the trails to the Camp will be covered in snow. Your vehicle will be parked approx 100yds away, next to the outhouse.
  • Really sweet little cabin. I found the bed really comfy and Julie provided dishes and cookware which was nice. I’d recommend bringing a campstove to use (outside) for cooking so you don’t have to ramp up the fire.

    Autumn2018-04-22T00:00:00Z
  • Julie was the perfect host; expedient in response, attentive, and hugely accommodating(the floating check-out period really was a tremendous asset). Her premises is expansive, and the listing is spot-on accurate. The cabin was cozy, and with miles of great trails to hike, we had plenty to do. There is cell-service and a grocery store within 15 minutes (for those who forgot that "one thing"), but there is the feeling of being the only one for miles, all while having potable water, and your car within feet of the cabin. I was worried that the cabin might have been photographed with some neighbor's house just out of view, or that it bordered on a campground, with trailers or tent-villages just around the corner, but what you see is what you get! Be wary of September Yellow-Jacket/wasp season, and bring an extra blanket if you stay in the early-fall (we needed ours). Also, the quaint wood-stove is not operational during the summer (bummer). The mattress definitely favors those who sleep on their back, at 3" thick. Aside from that, I couldn't possibly better recommend Clear View Camp!

    Chase2016-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • This was an amazing and unique place to stay. Having our own tiny house on the top of a hill surrounded by such a beautiful landscape was an unforgettable experience. Camp Clearview provides a great balance between camping and comfort. It was such a great time sitting by a fire and adventuring the property. If you visit be sure to hike Mt Monadnock just 20 minutes away.

    Brett2016-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Cabin was just as described. Stayed with my two boys (10 and 12) and had a great time!

    Emily2017-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • It was a very nice weekend getaway!

    Casey2017-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome cabin right off trails. Bring cash or check.

    Joan2017-04-04T00:00:00Z
  • The clear view camp is perfect for anyone looking for a private getaway in the woods!

    Becky2018-03-25T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome little cabin! It was very cozy and clean. The area is pristine for hiking (so many trails!) and the swimming pond rocked! There's even canoes you can use. Keep an eye out for deer! I woke up to one grazing outside the window :)

The Country Guest Quarters room is in a completely separate part of the house which offers great privacy and includes a private bathroom. The house is in a safe, quiet, friendly community. Our New Hampshire Operators License is # 062036
The bedroom is adjoined by a very large office that is available to use in the evenings for a sitting area or work area. (FYI, Airbnb room is up stairs in the bonus room above the garage) Besides the bedroom and the office (evenings) our guests can just be part of our family if desired. We often have guest from abroad, and we love company! We have a sauna, a gazebo, and other areas to relax and take comfort in! We are available for a lot of interaction, or no interaction, this is entirely up to the guests. The neighborhood is very quite, very safe, and we are friends or family with almost everyone around. If you do not have your own transportation this is not the place for you. We are at least 30 minutes from the nearest taxi, and buses and trains are out of the question! This is a bedroom community about 90 minutes from Boston. We have a wonderful Yellow Lad named Barney and cat which is mostly in his own area or outside, and is never in your room.
Quiet, safe, friendly. We know most of the neighbors, and many of them are family.
  • John and his son Bruce are the best! So welcoming and helpful. The room was quiet, clean and happy. I plan to stay again in the future!

    Lou2016-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • While the room I stayed in was not in the listing or photograph, the Ruotsalas provided me a clean, safe place to stay and made every attempt to make sure the amenities received were those promised. They welcomed me into their home, and offered me coffee and space in the fridge for the food I'd brought on my trip. Travelers be warned, there's no cell service up there! But the hosts were kind enough to extend use of their phone so I could check in with my family. The room I stayed in must be the last option for travelers passing through and did not have AC originally. After the first night, at my request, an AC unit was provided for the room. (My medical condition requires staying cool, it was the summer, and the AC listed on the amenities of the facility were a big selling point to me.) I'm absolutely glad the Ruotsalas managed to find a way to make that work for me, and my doctors thank them for it.

  • John and his family were friendly and welcoming. The room was clean and quiet.

  • Great location for a stay in rural New Hampshire. Very kind and welcoming hosts and thoughtful touches made this a great stay.

    Barbara2018-05-20T00:00:00Z
  • Clean, quiet and comfortable. Those are the words that first come to mind. John met us at an agreed upon time and showed us our room with a private bath. We greatly appreciated the bottled water and Nature Valley bars that were in the room. This is a beautiful location that was easy to find. Very peaceful and relaxing. We ate at one of the suggested spots, the Whitetail Cafe. Had a great Reuben that included a small salad. This will be on the top of our list the next time we are in the area. Thanks John!

    Wayne2017-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • John and Colleen are extraordinarily kind, welcoming, and thoughtful! I came for a training for work and their listing was the most affordable in the region. This listing would be awesome for hikers, skiers, outdoor sportsmen, or anyone looking to experience the natural beauty of New Hampshire at a wonderful rate per night! I left a baby gate for anyone with small children, but please know that John needs to work in the office directly adjoining the semi-private room from Monday-Thursday, so anything you can do to keep kids active and outdoors during the day would be great. He is very respectful about setting boundaries and being supportive of nap time, though:). Fridays and weekends are perfect, because guests are free to use a full exercise room and cable tv in the office, as well as a very cool a/c, which was a boon during the humid summer. Colleen is also a talented baker and we were grateful for her delicious cakes and muffins, as well as occasional invitations to dinner, breakfast, and coffee. The Ruotsalas are very well-traveled and John loves to speak Spanish as well. There is frequently piano music wafting up the stairs from the living room in the evenings, which is lovely!

    Amber2016-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • It feels good every time I sleep there

    Carlos2015-12-12T00:00:00Z
  • The Ruotsala’s made us feel very welcome. Before arriving John offered us dinner with them and their friends (ethnic night). Everyone was so nice and we had great fun and engaged in interesting conversations. They left drinks and snacks waiting for us in our room. They gave us great suggestions on things to do and places to eat nearby. They also made us breakfast each morning. The food was so delicious. My wife and I truly have a wonderful time.

Our 1840’s renovated grist mill is located in the beautiful Monadnock Region. The house and cottage are situated on twelve acres and includes gardens, an orchard, berry bushes, grape vines, beehives, chickens and a tremendous waterfall. We are close to many of nature’s gems including Mount Monadnock, Pack Monadnock, the Heald Tract hiking trails, skiing, snowshoeing and swimming. Also the acclaimed MacDowell Arts Center, Andy’s Summer Playhouse, Andres Institute of Art and the Waldorf Schools.
This is a very peaceful cottage with a private entrance and a porch where you can view the waterfall and magnificent trees and gardens. Its built in desks and well-lit workspaces give ample ergonomic space for writing, sewing, and art work. It comes with a full bath (claw toothed tub, no shower), a refrigerator, coffee maker, and a microwave oven. The cottage is nearby the main house, but when you are in it you feel like you are alone in a very private space - which you are. It has been used as an artist studio, so there are spaces for creating. The porch is the perfect place to read or sip your morning beverage. It is very quiet with the sound of the waterfall adding a calming presence.
  • Fantastic place to stay looking forward to going back in the summer. Need to clear your mind then this is the place for you. Definitely going to go back.

  • The waterfalls nearby are amazing. The place is very artistic and full of little knick knacks that I haven't seen at any other airbnb I've stayed in. This would be a fantastic spot in the summer to go wading in the river. It would be cold and beautiful in the winter/spring.

Enjoy a relaxing & quiet stay in this 1790s built New England home located in the picturesque historic village of Amherst. This newly renovated guest suite with private entrance is the perfect starting point for big & small adventures like walks through the historic village, hikes in nearby forests, "leaf peeping" during the Indian Summer, snowshoe and skiing trips in the winter and so much more. Then cozy up in this Scandinavian inspired room with spa-like shower and wood floors throughout.
The guest suite has its own entrance and is on the opposite side of the main house where we live. The bedroom and bathroom have been totally remodeled including hardwood floors and an amazing walk-in shower with large rain shower head. This suite does not have access to a kitchen and does not have a fridge in the room. Throughout the guest suite the original beams have been left exposed creating a modern mix of the old and new. Plan to have a quiet and peaceful nights sleep. Important! For families with kids and toddlers please be aware that there are stairs coming up to the landing.
Our home is located in the heart of the historic village of Amherst and is down the street from the village green, which is perfect for an evening stroll. The local village market Moulton's is also just a couple minute walk away and offers great food options from Pizza, Burgers, Deli Sandwiches, Soups and much more. • Great place to stay on way home from dropping off daughter at camp. Great general store around corner for morning coffee and muffins. Visited LaBelle winery for dinner and samples. Room was exactly as described and exceeded our expectations. Hosts met us on arrival and on walks around town providing local history and activities. Thanks for the great stay and would not hesitate to return. Amherst also sounds like a great place to spend Halloween night.

  • Great location for us as we have family in Amherst. Handy to walk to general store/cafe. Only minutes drive to Milford with a nice coffee shop & lots of restaurants. Lovely decor.

  • Is there such a thing as 6 out of 5 stars? Rahel and Adrian really set up the suite with such classic, tasteful design touches, it immediately felt warm and welcoming. Not only is the description so true to the space, it doesn't do it justice until you get there and see it for yourself. I would urge anybody that is considering this space to book their stay and experience unmatched tranquility at this home away from home.

Bathrooms & common areas are shared & you are welcome to join us for meals. Light breakfast & coffee provided. Off-street parking is available. We're conveniently located near Fitchburg State University, downtown, trails & state parks. There is limited weekday bus service just a short walk from our home, but you will likely need a car.

My place is close to Milford, Wilton and the Waldorf School. We are 45 minutes from the Manchester airport. You’ll love my place because of the coziness, the country setting, and the kitchen. Take pottery lesson while you are here or consider a creative clay retreat. I also offer breathwork, hypnosis and past life regression. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers.
The room is 10x12, great for one, a tight fit for two. There is a day bed and a trundle - 2 singles. A trundle is a portable bed which stores underneath the day bed when not in use. Both mattresses are regular single size.
Maple trees are abundant and there is a sugar barn a few miles away called Parker's Maple Sugar Barn
  • Nice place friendly people

  • Our stay at Wendy’s was so quick as we just stopped in for the night but everything was lovely! I slept on the trundle bed and was astonished with how comfortable it was! I wish I had been able to stay for longer. The room is stocked with necessities as well as nice touches of water & local tips. I would definitely recommend this place for two people traveling and looking for a quiet comfortable stay.

  • A great location to stay. Wendy and Brian are very welcoming and accomodating hosts. The house was just as described.

  • Nice reception. Nice host. Warm welcome. Really quiet and away from the big city. Cozy room.

    Bert2016-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Our host and hostess were gracious and helpful. The location was perfect for our trip and the grounds were lovely. The bedroom picture didn't match reality and the second bed was a foldable cot that was too short.

    Brenda2016-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • I had an excellent first experience with airbnb at the Potter's House. Wendy and her husband are welcoming and friendly. The room was comfortable and clean. The house is located in a quiet neighborhood in a lovely New England town.

    Andrea2016-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • Wendy was very welcoming and made us feel welcome in her lovely home. Set in the beautiful New Hampshire countryside great to explore the lakes and woods, do need a car to get around, 20mins ride to local town of Nashua. Was a bit caught out by the 'day bed' being from England, didn't quite understand this was quite small with a portable bed as a second single bed. Many Thanks to Wendy for making our stay very enjoyable.

    Trevor2016-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • Wendy was a terrific host, very considerate, friendly and with attention to detail. She provides great information about the area in the notebook she created for her guests' convenience. I wish I had time to stay longer and take a pottery class. The accommodations were very clean and comfortable, beautiful surroundings. Would gladly stay again if ever in the area.

  • This was our second time staying with Nancy and Ariel. They are wonderful hosts and we love relaxing and enjoying the trails at Healing Mountain. Couldn't recommend more highly.

    Meyer2016-05-31T00:00:00Z
  • Nancy and Ariel's retreat was beyond relaxing. Unfortunately, our stay was cut short due to outside issues, but we did get to enjoy the tranquility of the residence plus hike some of the trails that Ariel blazed himself. Definitely recommend to all looking to get away.

    Brian And Diana2016-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • I really didn't know what all to expect during the stay. That is not to say that the description isn't acccurate it's just that Nancy and Ariel don't give their property enough credit! The grounds and the apartment are super well kept. So well manicured and clean. Such a beautiful environment. It really is a healing place because of Nancy and Ariel. We didn't leave the property except to eat. We just walked, hiked and lounged around. We didn't want to leave. The best part was Lucy! She is an incredible dog that took us on 3 separate hiking tours. My husband is usually skittish around dogs but even he fell in love with Lucy. Nancy and Ariel really thought ahead about our needs and attended to everything. We casually mentioned we might run out of gas and were worried we wouldn't make it to the gas station. The next time we went to our car the was a can of gas waiting for us. We mentioned we wanted to build a fire so when we returned from dinner the fire was completely set up for us. All we had to do was light a match. The trip brought a big smile to our face. We only stayed 1 night but wish it had been longer. We already want to return next summer.

    Amy2015-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • wonderful retreat weekend. cozy spot and very welcoming/helpful hosts. nice location too. close to crotched mt for skiing and options for good eats. would definitely recommend to others.

  • Nancy and Ariel! We were very happy to meet you and stay in your beautiful, cozy and comfortable house! It was a great weekend full of relaxation and nature!:) Thank you very much for having us! Anastasia and Alexander

    Anastasia2017-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • Nancy and Ariel are wonderful hosts at this serene retreat. I wish we had more time to enjoy the ambiance. We were welcomed by fresh banana bread and enjoyed the garden fresh veggies

    Bob2017-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • Nancy and Ariel were very gracious hosts who welcomed us warmly to their beautiful home. When we arrived Ariel showed us the exquisite woodland trail that he had constructed on their property. They helped us get settled and gave us a detailed orientation of all that the surrounding area offers. When we returned from a dinner nearby Nancy and Ariel invited us to their sun room for tea and homemade blueberry crumble. We would also highly recommend the hike to the top of Pinnacle Mountain which takes 45 minutes from the back door. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

    Nick2014-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • A great find -- a wonderful property and charming (and helpful!) hosts. The private in law suite was perfect and the property exquisite. We love the trail running throughout the property. Our dog Dakota found a new friend in Nancy and Ariel's dog Lucy. Lucy is wonderful and gentle to both people and other dogs! We love the place so much that we are staying three more days to make it a full week! We will be back!

For avid hikers and weekend warriors alike, the Mountain Top Shelter is a summit for incredible camping. Atop Barrett Mountain at 1850ft, the Shelter has breathtaking views to the North and West including Mt. Monadnock. It is an Adirondack style lean-to that comfortable sleeps six campers. There are no amenities save for a well kept out house. Here it's hiking in with your gear, exploring the trails, sleeping under the stars, and waking up with the sun all while atop your own private mountain.
Please be aware The Mountain Top Shelter is a privately owned space located at the Windblown Cross Country Ski Area of New Ipswich NH. With your stay you are welcome to the private Windblown Trail Network for hiking which offers 30+ miles of forested trails and access to the larger public Wapack Trail. The Shelter is a classic Aridonack lean-to. It is a three-sided shelter built to house campers overnight. This specific shelter was handmade by the property owner from sustainable harvested timber on the land. It is a simple and quaint structure that sleeps six comfortably. There are no beds, cots, or pads as this listing is meant for overnight hikers and campers so pack a pad and sleeping bag in with your gear. There is also no power or water; prepared guests charge their devices in advance and pack water for their stay. There is a firepit for campfires when the weather permits.
  • The Mountain Top shelter is nestled along side one of the xc ski trails just shy of the peak of Barrett Mountain. The purpose of our trip was to test out some new backpacking gear within the security of a three sided shelter. This was the perfect place, we were close enough that if it came to it we could pack up and trek back to the car in no time. The views are outstanding and although we didn't see any wildlife in motion, we certainly saw plenty of scat and prints along the trails! Heads up to those venturing out into the woods now that its May- bring your head net, the no see um's are out in full force as are the ticks! I highly recommend this shelter and plan on visiting again, possibly for a winter stay. Happy Trails!

    Shayla2017-04-29T00:00:00Z
  • Julie maintains wonderful properties at Windblown and my girlfriend loved staying here for a weekday camping trip. The forest and trails around the shelter are very beautiful and Julie did an amazing job of making every part of the process easy and offered good suggestions. I highly recommend staying in one of her shelters!

  • Julie's place was a beautiful getaway. It has a great view from the mountain top. We were warmly greeted by Julie who from the very beginning was communicative about the site. When we arrived, she gave us very clear instructions as to how to get to the site. Would definitely return!

    Lizette2017-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • There are amazing views here! The lean-to is very nice with its own outhouse. The trails are easy to follow and the terrain not very difficult. There is another great view off of Barrett Mtn just a short ways away and well worth it! Julie is amazing and a great host! I hope to be going back this coming year!

  • Easy to find and secluded little getaway. A perfect place to return to after enjoying the outdoors. Secluded yet close enough to some great local food and attractions. Accommodations were clean and comfortable. Attached to an old farmhouse, the room was private and quiet. The bath is located inside the main house. Not an issue for us as it was mostly private. Bring a warm robe if you stay in the winter! Nanette and Sebastian were great hosts. Breakfast, coffee/tea, and water provided every morning, which was delicious. Very friendly and accomodating. We will definitely return!

  • This was exactly the kind of quiet retreat we were hoping for! The hosts went above and beyond with a lovely breakfast basket left outside our door in the mornings. We loved sitting in the cozy chairs by the wood stove. The views from the cabin were gorgeous, and Nanette even wrote a personalized list of things that we might be interested in checking out in the area.

  • Two lovely rooms in the Monadnock region of New Hampshire. Pamela is a lovely hostess who was very eager to please. Helpful recommendation for dinner in nearby Peterborough. Thoughtful touches (ear plugs!). Coffee and toasted bagels in the morning. Couldn’t have been a more pleasant stay. I’d go back when next in the area.

    Bill2018-06-10T00:00:00Z
  • My friend Emilee and I came up to NH for a relaxing weekend. We had nothing short of just that. Pamela and her husband Gerard were fabulous hosts. They provided a breakfast every morning with many, many options in an adorable breakfast room. The space felt like it was our own. They were extremely mindful of specific dietary options and needs. They handled a few hiccups with ease and minimal interruption. Our rooms were stocked with robes, slippers, and quality towels. The rooms were comfortable and peaceful. The media room was both calming and soothing yet perfect to meet your entertainment needs. They provided a full range of movies, tv, music, and surround sound. The house itself is quaint and clean. The combination of the woody area and the open windows make you truly feel one with nature. The location is simply perfect as you’re about 20 minutes away from restaurants, shopping, and outdoor activities. Our hosts were so gracious, accommodating and kind. Thank you so much for an amazing weekend!

    Ashlee2018-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Our experience at Pamela's could not have been more pleasant. The house is immaculate and stylishly designed, nestled in the woods off a main road close to Peterborough and the Wapack Trail. Bbreakfast was amazing, with fabulous pastries and scones and other fresh options. Pamela and Gerard went out of their way to make us comfortable and even called a neighbor to get more info on hiking in the area. Overall, an exceptional experience!

    Carolyn2018-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • They have a lovely, spacious house! Pamela woke up very early to make breakfast for us. Very accommodating. We thoroughly enjoyed our night at their house!

  • Pamela and Gerard, are great Hosts!!! They keep their home super clean and well organized. They were very attentive to making sure I had whatever I needed. They have a great sound system and Theater room for watching movies, and have a great collection of movies and music! Two friendly cats who were also great Hosts.. waiting outside bedroom and bathroom to greet me in the morning. The breakfast choices are many and there is a wonderful cheerful dinning area that is well equipped with many healthy provisions. Unfortunately, I came down with a horrible cough (so had to keep to myself) and was unable to take full advantage, both Pamela and Gerard were so thoughtful and considerate in this rough spell. We had interesting conversations and became good friends and hope to keep in touch!

A warm and comfortable room for 1-2 people located on ground floor in a small cape. We are located on a quiet street with private walking trail from my property, through the park into downtown. Enjoy a fresh breakfast made with organic eggs (weekends) from our chickens when available and baked goods. *Please - no third party bookings.
The Raspberry accommodates two people nicely with a double bed and a shared bathroom only a few feet away. We value good sleep here, therefore the room offers an ambient sound machine for creating white noise while sleeping, and also a selection of essential oil room sprays to create an aromatic atmosphere conducive to sleep or relaxation. There is a hot water kettle in the room for making tea and a mini refrigerator for storing perishables. The bookshelf has books and magazines for your reading pleasure. Our house is not large or expansive, but its compartmentalized layout creates privacy. The neighborhood is quiet and adjacent to the local park, making our home private and surrounded by nature, while still being only a short walk to downtown. There's even a Peterborough Basket Company picnic basket available to borrow for picnics in the park with everything you need for an outing, minus the food! The design is colorful, whimsical, and eclectic, while being quaint and comfortable. You'll get the morning sun coming through your bedroom window, but we have room darkening shades that can be pulled down. Our guests will have access to wifi and a table in the room to accommodate a laptop. There is use of the living room, dining room, kitchen (light use), a shared bathroom, and outside breezeway, a lovely location for a semi-outdoor breakfast or a place to enjoy a bottle of wine in the evening. Bed is Beddinge Lovas sofa bed by Ikea, microfiber sheets, and Laura Ashley goosedown comforter for the cold months. A primaloft comforter can be provided, should there be goosedown allergies. On weekend mornings (Saturday and Sundays) I will cook a generous gourmet breakfast with fresh, local and organic ingredients when available. Often this includes freshly baked homemade muffins, huevos rancheros or omelettes, and special diets will be happily accommodated. During the weekdays, I will leave a much simpler breakfast on the dining room table by 8:30 am before I head out to work, usually homemade granola, fruit and yogurt. I'm also happy to recommend places to visit and restaurant recommendations in the local area.
If you're going to stay in the Monadnock region, your best choice is Peterborough, recognized as one of the ten 'coolest' towns in NH by Budget Travel Magazine, as well as one of the most idyllic and picturesque by USA Today, Travel America and NH Home Magazine. It is a quintessential New England town with antique stores, the Sharon Arts Gallery for artisan crafts, the New England Art Exchange, theater, music events, good restaurants including the famous Harlow's Pub, a riverfront park, shopping, biking trail, nearby mountains for hiking, rivers and lakes for enjoyment, and beautiful historic buildings. It's a small town with much to offer. From our place, you can walk into town in only five minutes, leaving you in the center of activity. Ava Marie chocolates and ice cream is one block away. A focal point activity in the area is hiking Mount Monadnock, the 2nd most hiked mountain in the world. Trailhead is only 6 miles away. Also North Pack and Pack Monadnock are easily accessible for a less vigorous day hike than Monadnock. Walking/running and cycling are available on the Rail Trail, connecting Peterborough to Hancock. Cross country skiing is a township away in New Ipswich at Windblown ski area. Crotched Mountain ski area is a 15 minute drive away.
  • She stood out in her yard when we had trouble finding her place - partly GPS problems, partly I wrote down the wrong street number, and partly I did not know how to reply to text message. Mi casa es su case was the feeling. She also asked about food preferences for breakfast and accommodated us 150%. Wifi access was easy and straightforward. We enjoyed our conversations with Vanessa.

    Gene2016-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • This place is an absolute gem. I was bummed that I did not get to explore the surrounding areas, as wedding activities and friends kept me pretty busy. Vanessa was there upon my arrival and was super sweet - as I showed up much later than I had anticipated. She was away for the weekend, but her daughters could not have been more responsive and sweet. The photos of this property really does not do it justice. The house is beautiful, eclectic, and homey. I really wish I had more time there!

    Meg2016-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • Vanessa was engaging and full of positive energy - a warm and generous host. The house was "whimsical" - and extremely clean - and I could fill the love flowing throughout. The house is located in a safe residential neighborhood walking distance from shops, restaurants and a park. I took the trail from the backyard into town for dinner. I was only in town for one night to run a half- marathon (wished I could have stayed longer). Vanessa accommodated my needs to rise early, go run, and then return for a shower. Upon my return, Vanessa had warm blueberry muffins, fresh fruit, yogurt, and coffee waiting. What a fabulous post-race treat! I highly recommend Vanessa's beautiful home. She's a great human and host!

    Leah2016-05-17T00:00:00Z
  • I can't think of anything that hasn't been said already, except to add that Vanessa went far beyond what anyone might expect to accommodate my schedule. I especially enjoyed the delightful conversation at breakfast with Vanessa and Kevin, and I'll add my voice to those who have raved up her cooking. I felt very much at home and the location was perfect for my workshop downtown. Thanks!!!

    Jonathan2017-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • Vanessa's place is bright, colorful, clean and eclectic. Breakfasts are amazing! Hosts are kind. The town is adorable. It was a great jumpoff point for us to ski all over southern NH. Thank you Vanessa and girls!

  • We had a nice weekend here. Vanessa met us when we arrived and made us feel very welcome and comfortable. The room we stayed in, and in fact her whole house, is adorned with intriguing decorations. Overall, quite lovely. The room was quiet and peaceful. Vanessa when above and beyond making us quite impressive breakfasts with fresh eggs from her hens and ducks. We were also made very welcome by Casey, Vanessa's dog. Casey greeted at the door with a few friendly barks - just to let us know she was keeping an eye on things - but recognized us immediately and encouraged us to give her a few pats and scritches. Other pluses are: the short walk to the center of town in Peterborough, the quiet neighborhood. You'll find a little more about it in my partner's blog post about the weekend: (Website hidden by Airbnb)

  • Felicia was very welcoming and her home is a luxuriously appointed cabin that is fairly modern but still manages to feel rustic. The location is very good for a relaxing getaway. Felicia provided us with breakfast every morning and was sociable without being overbearing. All in all, a good weekend.

    Andrea2016-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Jim and Felicia's log house is just beautiful and so are the surrounding hiking trails. Jim is a gracious and helpful host and gave us great tips on the area (check out the local flea market. It's great) and Boston.

  • Great hosts ! Peaceful, quiet setting !

    Stuart2017-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time in this beautiful home. We enjoyed the rustic setting, our hosts' hospitality, the radiant floors, and the cozy atmosphere. It was fun learning about how the log home was built. Our hosts did not mind us coming and going, or stopping for a few minutes to visit with us. We had a great time.

    Shane2015-12-13T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely wonderful!!! A gorgeous log home in breathtakingly beautiful setting! It is extremely clean, very serene, and unbelievably spacious. The comfy bed with cozy bedding lets you make a nest for a your weary body after a day of exploring the delightful country near this oasis in the New Hampshire woods! Felicia and her family are wonderful hosts and make you feel like a part of the family! A special treat for me were my two furry hosts, Baxter and Jodi. They are adorable, well-behaved, and love to sit on the wraparound front porch with you as your rock or swing to the woodland melody of birds and other wildlife!!! Highly recommend and have already recommended to friends visiting this summer! Very convenient to everything you could ask for, but you would never guess it from the feeling you are miles from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. A hidden gem!

    Lisa2015-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • Felicia's log home is a delight; a beautiful building in the woods but a short drive from local shops. The room is huge, the bed is comfortable and the bathroom has masses of space for storing luggage. Felicia provided a lovely breakfast to send us on our way north. We only stayed for one night, but would happily have stayed for longer.

Set in a beautiful piece of land, once occupied by The Meeting School and currently occupied by South of Monadnock Community, a forming intentional community, the yurt is a rustic, peaceful and unique home for families looking to spend quiet time in the beautiful Monadnock Region.
The yurt is a Bill Copperthwaite design built in 1974 to serve a faculty housing for the school. It is about 35' in diameter with a small inner yurt serving as the upstairs bedroom. Additionally, there is a pull out futon and sleeping spaces for small people in the "nook." There is wood heat with a gas backup, a full kitchen, bathroom with laundry and solar electricity.
The South of Monadnock Community strives to live well together in a way that supports and challenges us to live into our best selves, collectively and individually. We are working towards our best vision for the future and to honor this property’s history by building authentic community consistent with Quaker practices and principles that prioritizes purposeful, joyful living, peacework, place-based education and Earth stewardship, including diverse, sustainable agriculture and wild-space conservation.
  • This place is super cute and cozy and the farm and woods were beautiful. Will definitely come back.

    Benjamin W2018-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Loved staying in, probably the closest thing I will experience to a Hobbit House. Loved the feel and energy of the house (solar and otherwise). Growing up on a farm I appreciated hearing the rooster from a distance and was definitely not disturbing (fresh eggs in the ice box were a bonus) sheep and a cow and cafe were grazing. The garden had the largest Rhubarb plants I've ever seen. Hannah her husband were wonderful host's and took care of everything.

    Janet2018-06-03T00:00:00Z
  • Such a unique experience. Hannah was extremely easy to plan with and accommodating.

    Jason2018-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Very cozy and unique spot with a lot of character . Dan is lovely and the whole property felt special and warm. We highly recommend!

    Drusilla2018-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • This place is adorable! If you’re looking for a quiet, rustic stay in a neat community and a unique “house”: look no further than Dan and Hannah’s yurt! We were there in the dead of winter so it took a bit of adjusting to get the place warm and the pipes did freeze a bit but Dan and Hannah were so responsive and helped us right away. It was perfect for our quiet NYE weekend getaway with our two pups to just relax and escape time/work/etc. before jumping into 2018. We will definitely be back in warmer weather. It was such a serene and peaceful location, and so easy to get to! Definitely recommended for anyone looking to just get away in a sweet and cozy way!

  • I almost don't want to write this review for fear of letting the secret out about this amazing place. My boyfriend and I have stayed at many airbnbs all over the world, and this was one of our absolute favorites. We came for a weekend escape from Boston, and got that and more. Hannah and Dan were super responsive and had the house stocked with everything you could need. We were close to hiking, great restaurants and shops, but secluded enough that we felt away from the world while at the yurt. Being able to bring our dog with us was also great. She had so much fun running around the farm with Daisy Mae. We can't wait to come back!

    Lindsay2018-05-20T00:00:00Z
  • Hannah and Dan have an idyllic spot on Earth and we were lucky enough to spend two weeks there. The yurt is charming, but no more so than the entire farm and their family. Hannah kept us stocked with fresh eggs and we ate breakfast every morning watching the birds. I can't recommend their place highly enough.

    Richard2017-11-07T00:00:00Z
  • Hannah was a great and responsive host. Staying in the yurt was an awesome experience. Everything we needed was there including fresh eggs! We will be looking to book our next trip to the yurt!

Our 1840’s renovated grist mill is located in the beautiful Monadnock Region. The house is situated on twelve acres and includes gardens, an orchard, berry bushes, grape vines, beehives, chickens and a tremendous waterfall.
This is a magical room with large old granite stones making up one wall and a bank of windows making up another. The french door opens to a large screened-in porch which overlooks a waterfall. With an antique four poster canopy bed and a tile floor with Turkish rug, you are sure to want to relax here. But nature is calling and you will also be inclined to wander along the water fall or out into the pavilion, gardens and orchard. Its a perfect place to just breathe.
Our house is situated on twelve acres of land, so while we do have neighbors within walking distance our property is very private.
  • We loved staying at Bridget's place in the woods! It rained while we were there, but the covered porch off of our room let us still appreciate the landscape around us. It was peaceful and really relaxing.

  • Lovely stay. Tranquil setting; exactly what we needed.

    Maureen2018-05-12T00:00:00Z
  • This is an inspiring, spacious, and accommodating space with a glorious porch overlooking a waterfall. The history of the former mill really adds so much character to the comfortable living arrangements and the artistic lifestyle of the hosts is an inspiration. We were especially grateful for the hospitality to our dog. Gorgeous autumn weekend with so much beauty.

    Marianne2017-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful property and rooms. Waterfall is spectacular. Friendly hosts and neighborhood restaurants were welcoming and good. But i think i love Moby the great dane this most.

    Stephanie2017-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • What a lovely space. High ceilings, a comfortable bed, heated floors, and a wide screened in porch beside a cascading creek. It was sparkling clean. My 23 month old son loved the cats and chickens. We were in the area for a long weekend to see where my wife’s grandfather grew up. The place was smack in the middle of the spots we needed to hit. We got an unusual for mid April(I’m told) four inches of snow on our last night. We cozied in the circa 1840 space and waited for Hawthorne to gallop up the road, or the middle bar of the steel guitar interlude of Sweet Baby James to swirl up from the creek. For real. I felt New England at this place. I can’t imagine it in Autumn..wowzarooney! Bridget was a quick communicator who took the proactive road to make sure our son was cared for. She accommodated a schedule change to an alternate weekend AND a 2 am check in. We didn’t want for anything. An en-suite bathroom and easier kitchen access would have been nice, but we knew what we were getting into, and the rest of the product was definitely worth what we paid. I hope we can come back again.

    Travis2018-04-16T00:00:00Z
  • Bridget and John have one of the most beautiful and unique spaces to stay as I have ever seen. The river in the back of the property is so soothing to listen to. The River Room was so warm, literally since it had just snowed and the flooring is heated but the environment itself is just so inviting. The 4 poster bed was so comfy cozy, I didn't want to leave it. Their lovely home is what I look for in a trip to NH> the beauty of the outdoors with the mtns all around us and babbling brook to listen to. I hope to get back in the Spring to enjoy the huge covered porch overlooking that brook. Thank you for sharing this lovely place with us.

  • I stayed with Josiah and Chris for 3 nights during Christmas while I was visiting family in Fitchburg. The room was super comfortable, clean, spacious and quiet. Communication and check-in could not have been better. The hosts, Josiah and Chris, were incredibly warm and generous. I really enjoyed our conversations and their hospitality. • This was my first stay in Airbnb and I don't think not voykd not have been any better. Gillaine and her husband are warm and inviting. Their home is amazing and on 5 acres with hummingbirds buzzing about. I took a quick stroll in the woods behind their home. Its fully like being out in the country but so close go the city. I will always stay with them if I need a getaway in the area. Because I left them after only two days feeling like I made new friends in the area.

This place has a great wide open area surrounding it so you view the stars at night sitting out on the rear patio in the comfy chairs. The hosts, well not much to add to those others reviews, hosts are simply fantastic, friendly and not overbearing. Great place to stay for a night, or 4 in my case. Thanks

Why stay in a generic hotel when you can stay in a house built in 1782 in the heart of Milford? This private apartment has modern comforts blended artfully with original architectural features in this quintessential New England Colonial. Fall asleep in our luxurious beds, surrounded by hand hewn beams, pegged construction, antique hardware, and the incredible 15ft tall barn door, that still glides open almost effortlessly! Recharge in your sauna and enjoy this historic and peaceful retreat.
There are three bedrooms, each with its own inspiring theme, there is the tree room, the spring room and the winter room. All feature beautiful decor, centuries old architecture, comfortable beds, luxury bedding, blackout curtains, and are a perfect place for a sound night's rest. There is an extra large shower with a bench and 2 person sauna unit in the bamboo room, with a separate toilet and sink across the hall. Never worry about parking, you have access a large, private parking lot that will easily park six cars, exclusively for your personal use. For your comfort, there is central heat and air conditioning, and you control of the thermostat. The cozy living room has a Blue Ray DVD player, and a 42" flat screen HDTV. Pull the massive barn door over the entrance, using the same force it takes to slide a closet door, for the ultimate experience in pre-revolutionary engineering and craftsmanship. The efficiency kitchen features a copper fronted microwave, a two burner hot plate, a six slice toaster oven, professional size Keurig stocked with coffee, tea, cider and hot chocolate, and a stainless steel bar fridge. Enjoy the free wifi. This is a ground floor unit, but has a small single step into the apartment. There is a comfortable loveseat/bench outside to sit close to the largest white oak in Hillsborough county, which is thought to be even older than the house!
The location is on Nashua Street (101A) which is one of the main streets in to town. The house is a 10 minute walk to the historic Milford oval, where there is an old fashioned bandstand and green, surrounded by quaint shops, bars and restaurants. The house is a mile from Shaws grocery store, restaurants, pharmacies and other shopping. There are several parks in Milford, including part of the Granite State rail trail. Munson Village and Purgatory falls are wonderful places for family hikes and are dog friendly.
  • We were in town for a Memorial Day soccer tournament and spent most of our time on the fields. However, it was great coming back to Christine's place as it was so close to restaurants, a CVS, and a coffee shop (all within walking distance). Christine was a super host and made everything easy for us.

    Katherine2018-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful apartment with strikingly nice furnishings. Lovely owner who was gracious and easy to communicate with. A++++++++

    Nathan2018-03-21T00:00:00Z
  • The place is clean and cozy, the beds very comfortable, the neighborhood quiet. It's less than 10 minutes into town. Town: the pie at the Red Arrow Diner was SOOO good! I went for the apple pie twice. OK, once was pi day. I will get another slice when I return. J's Tavern was also a nice friendly bar. Back to the place, I liked the shower, with its pebble floor. The kitchen has hot plate, toaster oven, microwave, fridge. There is a food store nearby. There is adequate shelving and the kitchen is clean. The sauna setup doesn't allow it to get super hot. The house, street, etc. is quiet at night. Liked it and would stay again.

    Stephen2018-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place to stay. The most comfortable beds ever. Christine was a great hostess with coffee, cream, sugar, hot chocolate and tea provided. I Will for sure stay here again. Thank You Christine for everything.

  • Staying here was great. The space was immaculately clean and well maintained. The attractive decor and interesting design was a bonus. My kids loved the rolling barn door in the tv room as much as I did. Coffee pods and creamer in the mini fridge? Awesome. Beds and pillows were very good. I only wish I had stayed long enough to try the sauna. CVS and a great toy store are a 2 minute walk down the road.

  • My husband and I stayed at Christine’s place with our brother and sister-in-law to attend a wedding at the Labelle Winery. Christine was very accommodating and highly communicative in advance and during our stay, recommending restaurants and things to do. She greeted us when we got there and gave us a tour of the place. The place is very unique and clean. We loved the history of it! Our stay was very comfortable. We would have no problem staying here again if we were in the area. We had an excellent dinner at Giorgio’s and ate breakfast downtown both mornings at the Riverhouse Cafe. There are also some very cute! Wedding festivities left us with little time for exploring but one day we did hike to upper Purgatory Falls. It was an easy hike with beautiful scenery. One day we drove to Peterborough which was another beautiful small town.

  • Christine's place was fabulous. Very clean, tidy and spacious for four of us. She provided some treats which we all loved. Christine was great with communication and was flexible with our arrival time. She made sure she was available to explain everything to us in person. A great host!!

Our beautiful home was built in the late 1700s and is loaded with charm. The decor is a mix of old and new. We have a small orchard of pear and apple trees and tons of flower gardens. We do have 1 large, very friendly dog and 2 loving cats that usually do their own thing. Please note that New Hampshire has a room and meals tax that is 9%. We are required to collect this from anyone who stays with us as it is not included in the listing fee. Currently we can only accept cash for the tax.
Our beautiful home was built in the late 1700s and is loaded with charm. The decor is a mix of old and new. We have a small orchard of pear and apple trees, tons of flower gardens and even a super comfy hammock. We have 7 acres that you can explore and our neighboring home is owned by Historic New England and is available to tour on certain weekends. The yard is gorgeous and is always available to stroll through. It also has a beautiful gazebo at the top of the hill. We do have 1 large, very friendly dog and 2 loving cats that usually do their own thing. The room is large and bright with your own private bathroom, shower tub included! The mattress is also new and is memory foam, super comfy!
  • My husband and I stayed here on our wedding night and it was excellent. Shirley was very accommodating and we felt really relaxed in her home after a long day of festivities. She had snacks waiting for us when we got there and made us coffee and had a homemade muffin for us in the morning. We really liked how much character their house had. The cat and dogs were so nice, too. We plan on coming back again one day!

    Liz2017-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • Staying here was a wonderful experience. Samantha and Shirley were excellent hosts, and were happy to give recommendations about where to get food, let us use their kitchen, and chat about the house and its history. We loved the animals, too--they were all extremely friendly and sociable. The house itself is quintessentially colonial New England, with a lot of its historical character intact. There are still lots of renovations planned to update the house, but we were very comfortable with the bedroom and bathroom as they are now. The mattress is fantastic! The only note of caution is that the driveway is steep and slippery (it has been snowing and very cold recently). We had some trouble getting our car to the top, but our hosts were accommodating about us parking mid-way up the driveway. Guests with cars more suited to winter driving may have better luck!

    Alyssa2017-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic old home with tons of character. Very comfortable bed and room. Lots of renevations to do but it is just an awesome house! I booked last minute but that wasn't an issue. Everyone was very welcoming and helpful. Especially Duke (the dog) just love him.

    Carol2017-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • The host canceled this reservation 7 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.

    Ethel2018-05-11T00:00:00Z
  • Samantha's mom is very nice, kind, and helpful. The room we stayed in did not have blinds so it was an early wakeup with sun (if you are sensitive to light). Bathroom is dated but functional. Dog jumped up against car door/window and scraped paint with claws/paws (seemed to be a friendly dog). Large room.

    Mike2017-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Samantha and Shirley are wonderful hosts. Duke, Larry, and baby kitty were wonderful as well. The house is beautiful and an absolute pleasure to tour. I will be sure to stay again during the autumn.

    John2017-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Samantha's house is quite large and historic. The room was exceptionally large with a comfortable queen-size bed. Added bonus a private bathroom and you pretty much have the entire upstairs to yourself (so privacy is no issue). Samantha's yard is beautiful and she is working on the house as she is a new owner.... you have full use of the outside patio and the kitchen. Plenty of parking in her yard. I would highly recommend this place and we will definitely stay here again if in the area.

    Sara2017-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • Staying with Samantha and Shirley in their historic home was a great pleasure! The room was very clean and tidy, and made for a unique stay during a work trip. Having your own private bath was an added bonus. I would recommend this place to anyone looking in the area.

Nestled in the woods at the base of Mt. Monadnock, The Loft at Windblown is a spectacular space to plan your next getaway. Windblown is a seasonal destination that's open for overnight guests during the warmer weather and operates as southern NH's premier cross country ski area when it snows. If you're looking for a quiet stay secluded in nature while close by to thriving arts, culture and nightlife, the Loft is the destination for you. Book your stay for Autumn Leaf Peeping now.
The Loft is a open-concept space approx. 2400 sq ft. It's used for a multitude purposes by us here at Windblown including - event hall, yoga studio, meeting space, restaurant, and more. The building was designed and built by the property owner with locally sourced timber. As The Loft, the space is a luxurious and rustic villa with ample amenities. I do not rent to multiple parties at once, so only you and yours are the only guests during your stay.
  • Great place to stay

    Andrew2017-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • With its architecture and interior design, the Windblown loft offers the ideal wooden coziness after a full day of adventure. The Windblown estate is conveniently located off the main road, nestled amongst green hills and accompanied by a lovely pond. Our host Julie carried out great communication throughout our stay and made everything easy for us. It was an amazing feeling to spend the entire afternoon climbing the iconic Monadnock and coming "home" to Windblown at sunset to look at the giant "lone-standing mountain" that we had been on earlier while opening some beers. We experienced the summer of Windblown but I am sure it is equally wonderful in winter. (I am not even starting with autumn...) We recommend this place for anyone who plan to hike up the Monadnock, get their inland New England fix and spend the night with the nostalgia and the commune feeling of the old camping days.

    Alpie2017-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • The location was great for the weekend visit to NH for our friend's wedding. Easy to get to. Near plenty of stores and restaurants and right next to a great swimming pond

    Darcy2016-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • More than the space, I want to focus on Julie. She is a wonderful host, communicates very well, and is open to feedback and making improvements to make her guests feel very welcome. Thank you, Julie!

    Doug2018-05-05T00:00:00Z
  • Julie's place was the perfect spot for my friends and I during our hiking trip in New Hampshire. We were supposed to camp, but it started raining and we were scrambling for a last-minute place to stay. Julie was super accommodating and even let us extend our stay an extra night were because we were enjoying her place so much! The studio is very large with many different sleeping options. There is also a huge kitchen, wood burning fireplace, and excellent WiFi. This place was only 20 minutes from Mt Monadnock and just 10 minutes from the restaurants and bars in Jaffrey.

    Rhochelle2017-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • We had an incredible stay at the Loft at Windblown. I surprised my husband with a last minute stay for our anniversary - coming from Boston I was looking for a retreat but something easily accessible. Julie was a fantastic host and was so kind to greet us upon arrival, show us around the loft and how to use the wood stove and provided us with a trail map of Windblown since we wanted to do some hiking. I can't say enough about the beauty of this place; the trails, ponds, hiking, Mt top campsites (which we really want to come back and use!) as well as all the amenities the lodge has to offer - commercial kitchen and sitting by the wood stove fire at night was a perfect retreat and way to disconnect from technology. I'd highly recommend a stay here and a visit in the winter for cross country skiing or snow shoeing!

    Julie2016-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • fantastic stay!

    Jake2017-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • The Loft was great! A group of friends & I were searching for a place to stay overnight & requested to book this location rather last minute. Julie was an amazing host & was quick to respond. She was kind & very polite. We didn't have any problems during our stay and Julie made the stay even better by visiting us with her dog. The location is perfect for a group that's looking to explore the outdoors & the place is comfortable for a close group of friends/family. Overall it was a great experience & you can tell the host is a very genuine person who cares about her guests.

Our family home built in 2000 has been completely updated and furnished in 2014 and is set on 11 quiet country acres. With enough Queen and King beds/pullouts to sleep up to 14, come and get away from it all for a weekend or week!
This rental is an entire 4 bedroom 2380sf Colonial house on 11 acres of land. There is a large yard and plenty of parking. It is a quiet neighborhood with only 3 houses in sight. It is fully furnished with linens, towels, and many basic appliances and supplies - just bring your own food.
The houses on this road are spaced about 200-400 feet apart, leaving a lot of privacy and it is a very wooded area.
  • I loved everything. The house was great. We are planning to stay there again.

    Ranjeet2017-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed in Michael's home with 6 friends for a wedding weekend. The home was very comfortable for 7 adults, with 4 large bedrooms and 3 full bathrooms. Everything we needed for a comfortable stay was available--extra towels, plates and cups, grilling equipment, and even toothbrushes and condiments! We really enjoyed relaxing in the home before and after the wedding, and I would recommend Michael's home to any moderate sized groups and/or large families looking for a quiet weekend getaway.

    Jules2017-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • Our group of 12 had a great overnight stay at Michael's home in New Ipswich, NH. There was plenty of room for all of us to eat together, and for sleeping. We were pleasantly surprised with the pool table in the basement, gas fireplace (nice and warm), and large living room space for all of us to hang out in. The kitchen had everything you would need to prepare meals...with spices and other essential items we could use. We wish we could have stayed longer....but hope to be back again another time!

  • A group of colleagues and I stayed at Michael's home for an overnight retreat, and the house was beautiful. Tucked away on a large lot, Michael's home was great for a quiet escape from Boston. It's clean, updated, and well-stocked. Michael was a pleasure to work with and very responsive.

    Adam2016-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • We booked this space for a work related retreat. It was absolutely perfect for our needs. So much attention to detail was put into making this space a real delight to stay in. Plenty of parking, amazing kitchen, comfy beds, and a pool table! Don't hesitate to book this spot. It will exceed your expectations.

    Beatrice2017-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • Staying here thanks to Michael was an incredible experience. My friends and I celebrated my birthday here and it truly has everything you need, just bring your own food! The area is wooded so there is plenty of privacy, the driveway is spacious so 12 people really can sleep here, and inside the house is gorgeous. The lock to get in was a little tricky, not sure if it was just because I've never encountered a lock like it but thanks to one phone call to Michael he explained how it works and I had no problem. Overall this was a fantastic stay and my friends and I are already talking about trying to come back for a night or two over the summer!

Although the main house isn't directly attached, and as the description of the booking states, I feel that this place would not be ideal for any kind of excessive noise or even a small party.

This cozy, rustic apartment offers a ton of natural light and the convenience of being only a short walk (10 minutes) or drive (2 minutes) to downtown Milford (or "the oval" as we call it here in town)! This beautifully decorated, comfortable space is Rebecca's home, as well as home to her two dogs and cat. Rebecca and her pets will not be present during your stay (you'll have the entire apartment to yourself), but please take this into consideration when booking!
This is a sunny two-bedroom apartment near the heart of Milford. Guests will have use of the master bedroom and the sofa bed in the living room. This apartment is lived in, but guests will have total privacy during their stay, as Rebecca has made it available only when she will be away! Guests are invited to use the yard, patio, swing set and playscape!
This is a quiet, safe, residential neighborhood. The neighbors are friendly and the area is walkable. The area has a true New England vibe, with beautiful homes and a downtown filled with locally owned shops.
  • This apartment is fantastic! Convenient walk to downtown Milford, close to Nashua and Manchester, both just a quick 20 minute trip down the highway. The apartment is adorable, charming and cozy with plenty of space for 1-4 people. Erin and her family were super helpful and checked in often to answer any questions. Thank you again! See you later in the summer.

  • We just moved to the area and stayed at Antonella's apartment for about 2 weeks while waiting for our house to be move-in ready. She was a wonderful host and always went out of her way to make sure that we had everything we needed to be comfortable. We shared an Easter meal with her, and enjoyed her company very much! If you are visiting the area and want to stay in a cozy apartment with an excellent and very accommodating host, this is the place for you!

    Kamila2018-04-12T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect, quiet, and plenty of space. A good place to relax after long work days. Antonella is a gracious hostess.

    Bill2016-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • Antonella is a very friendly host and the place is spotless. Ayer is a very nice town and there are beautiful woods surrounding it. There is an adorable dog greeting you upon arrival. The apartment is very spacious and bright. The kitchen is fully equipped and there is a washer/dryer at your disposal. You can enjoy your breakfast on the back porch, in the town of Ayer or Groton which are a short drive or walk away.

    Jasmin2017-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • What a lovely apartment with a gracious host. Antonela wants you to be comfortable and provides not only a great space to settle in but lots of little touches like food for breakfast, a full washer/dryer, grooming products, and a chocolate on your pillow. The back deck is available for reading or just sipping your coffee (also provided) and her dog's are well behaved and friendly. Yet, you have your privacy so it is the perfect blend of a private space but having a host willing to help you. If you are deciding between a local hotel room and Antonela's place, this is a real value and will make your stay.

    Carolyn2017-04-26T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely stay. Apartment was clean, very well stocked and the bed was extremely comfortable. Antonella, our host, was delightful and went out of her way to answer all our questions and accommodate us last minute.

  • We had a great 2-day stay at this nice apartment. It is very clean and Antonella is a gracious and friendly hostess. She met us upon our arrival and showed us everything in the apartment. We highly recommend this place and would certainly stay here again in the future.

Our house is situated on twelve acres of land. So while we do have neighbors within walking distance our property is very private.
  • Bridget's home is absolutely stunning. The waterfall is beautiful, the sunroom is adorably decorated, and Bridget and her family (including great Dane Moby) were warm and welcoming hosts. Thank you!

  • I just stayed at the Old Red Mill by the waterfall for a second time, and my stay was every bit as enjoyable as the first.

  • Bridget is a wonderful host! This is a great getaway or short stay on a road trip (like my husband, dog, and I did) - the house and property is beautiful. Bridget and her husband were very easy to coordinate with and genuinely good people. Bridget's animals are so well mannered you wouldn't know they are there and sweeties when you do introduce yourself. The waterfall is soothing, and you have an amazing view with huge windows - we woke up and saw a great blue heron getting water. I can't recommend this place enough.

  • Staying at The Red Mill in Wilton, NH was our very first experience with Airbnb. We chose them because they are located in Wilton, NH. It was a wonderful experience. Our hosts were outstanding and made us feel comfortable from the moment we stepped out of our car. We were greeted by Moby, a beautiful Great Dane, who escorted us to the front steps, where she handed us off to Bridget one of our hosts for the night. After a great night of rest we had coffee with Bridget and John and Moby, before moving on to our next destination. The setting of the Mill against the woods and vibrant brook and waterfall made for a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere.

John Ruotsala, his wife and son were terrific hosts. They were generous enough to allow me to join them for dinner where I ate venison for the first time!
