  • A great and well equipped mobile home at the Carrick Farm, managed by Jai and Vonna, just in front of the Carrick Castle. Very welcoming hosts. Breathtaking landscapes! Highly recommended.

  • We stayed at Carrick Farms, Loch Goilhead for three nights. Jay and Vonna are very welcoming and played wonderful hosts. Carrick farm is set in a dramatic backdrop of green hills, a castle and a lake. The farm is home to horses, chicken, ducks and a very friendly border collie named Misty. There are a few hiking trails around the area as well. The setting is serene, calm and peaceful. We will definitely return another time.

  • I was a little weary about getting to Carrick Farm initially, but after driving through the breathtaking grandeur of the Scottish Highlands, I knew I had made the right choice. The only bad part about my trip was that I should have stayed longer! The Carrick Farm has a very clean and well stocked caravan behind the house and adjacent the stables. It was nicely tied into the stables with a covered patio. The Farm features chickens, geese, and ducks of which Jai collects their eggs every morning for the "honesty" box for other locals/visitors. There were a few horses and of course, the Farm dog, "Misty". The first night there, i took a walk and was taking in the noises of the trickling streams of water from the moss-engulfed mountains, the cooing of owls as the twilight hangs around, and some distant chirping as the birds go to sleep. The air was moist and smelled of ocean and sweet flowers... AMAZING!!! The following day, I helped feed the animals (not a requirement, I just enjoy the work and being on a farm), had a cup of coffee, and Misty and I headed for a long hike. The Farm backs up to mountains where a private landowner has made various trails. I took the long one to the end then kept climbing to the top where Misty and I had lunch and a nap. The views are magical! There are no words or photos that could possibly capture even a fraction of the beauty in this area. Unfortunately I had to leave the next day, but I would absolutely come back! Next time I may rent a car, as this place is quite remote. I would spend more time exploring more of the area and maybe do some kayaking or something out in the lochs. THANK YOU Vonna and Jai for truly making my experience one of a lifetime!

  • Our stay at Carrick Castle was amazing. Jai was friendly and helpful. He showed us around the farm, let us take his adorable dog Misty for a hill walk, and gave us tips on hikes in the area. It is VERY secluded-- the nearest shop and pub about 5 miles down a single track road, but that was perfect for us. The caravan was big enough for 2 adults and one kid with no problem. The welcome pack was helpful as we arrived after the one shop had closed: fresh eggs from the free-range hens and freshly baked bread. Would definitely recommend if you're looking for a very scenic, very secluded getaway.

  • Beautiful scenery and an even better drive. Super friendly and helpful hosts. Would recomend to anyone.

  • Jay and Vonna were extremely hospitable. They made us feel very welcome. The holiday home in Carrick Farm is more than comfortable and affords a delightful view of Loch Goil which is simply beautiful. All the surrounding countryside is stunning in fact! Castle Carrick is a very peaceful place with many lovely walks around it. We were lucky enough to see quite a bit of interesting wildlife too. I should mention Jay and Vonna went out of their way to make our holiday special. Jay took our ten year old son around the farm, feeding the animals and collecting eggs and he also made bread with him. He (our son) absolutely loved doing all of these things. Thank you.

  • This was by far one of our most favorite stays on our trip to Scotland. Our room was just perfect! The entire place was so cozy and warm so we felt right at home and able to relax after our long drive. Karen and Gary were a very sweet couple which made the visit that much better, and breakfast the next morning was above and beyond what we had expected. Overall, our stay was lovely. If we're able to come back to the area again we will definitely be staying here :) Oh! And the view our your bedroom window is absolutely gorgeous! We didn't want to check out the next day hahaha

    Emily2017-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • Karen and Gary's home was quiet and secluded. The bedroom was very nice, with a comfortable bed and a good, strong shower. Both Karen and Gary were warm and friendly. They made a delicious breakfast and had fantastic recommendations for places to go in Scotland. We met their dog at breakfast and she was very sweet and well behaved. The town they are in is small, with only one pub, which turned out to be a great place for dinner. The scenic drive and beautiful views made the trip out even more wonderful. I would highly recommend staying here and would love to return myself some day!

    Philicia2017-09-07T00:00:00Z

Homely cottage in Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park. Comfortable space to relax and enjoy stunning views of Lochgoil and surrounding mountains. Ideal holiday destination for lovers of the great outdoors.
Hamilsmay is a two-bedroom timber-framed detached house in a quiet location on the banks of Lochgoil. A double-height living room, complete with cosy wood-burning stove and floor-to-ceiling picture windows provides a comfortable space to admire the stunning views and passing wildlife. The house is on two floors with both bedrooms upstairs. The master bedroom has a double bed and the second bedroom has two single beds which can be zipped together to make a double. A travel cot is also available.
The house is in a rural, wilderness setting 1 mile from Lochgoilhead village. Very few houses are at this end of Lochgoilhead making this a tranquil, undisturbed area. Lots of great walks from the house and fishing nearby. Replenishing the bird feeders will ensure a steady stream of feathered visitors, plus the odd red squirrel! Seals are often seen swimming by and occasionally porpoises in the distance. The village has a post office with basic food/household supplies, a 'hotel' (pub) and marine store for fishing supplies and boat rental. The jetty in the village is a big draw for fishermen/women/children and a great place to catch mackerel in summer. Drymsinie holiday village on the other side of the loch offers a range of leisure facilities including gym, swimming/spa, indoor bowls, badminton, mini golf. The house has information on local places of interest, maps and a simple map showing walking routes from the house. Additional information on local routes and other nearby attractions can be found on the Visit Cowal and Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park websites. Please note that mobile phone reception in the area is patchy. Around the house, you should find good coverage for most network providers apart from O2 (there is a landline in the house for emergencies).
  • Nice cottage at lochgoilhead. Perfect for couple with two children. Very comfortable and fully equiped. We had a lovely reception from Elein. I can recommend this for everybody.

  • The cottage is in a magnificent location, on the edge of the loch and with stunning views in every direction. The cottage is cosy and comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped and the wood burning stove is very effective. A red squirrel appeared every day outside, as did a range of water birds. We did not see seals but looked for them with hope . The cottage was a perfect base for walking and getting away from it all. The owners provided us with a welcome pack and were extremely helpful throughout our stay when we had any queries, including many suggestions for walks. We look forward to returning soon!

  • Amazing, secluded, doggy heaven, great wifi signal. Dogs loved the beach, cottage lovely, awesomely comfy bed. Can't fault a thing. A slice of heaven indeed. Have a 'never the same place twice' which will be broken with hamilsmay, can't wait to return. What a view to wake up to every day. Lovely hosts, speedy communication, thanks so much Eleanor *****+. Couldn't recommend highly enough.

  • The whole family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hamilsmay. The loch side location and design/layout of the cottage with central log burner and lovely views gave us a peaceful feeling and we couldn't wait to open the morning curtains to see the loch and visiting red squirrels. Our host Eleanor was welcoming and helpful

  • My husband, son and I had a wonderful week staying at Hamsilmay cottage. The cottage is homey, views are sensational (seals playing 10ft off the waters edge), and communication with Eleanor was fabulous (pictures and description of the cottage are very accurate). Joni met us with the keys, and explained how all of the amenities worked. Hiking, walks and tons of animals all close by. If you are looking to get away, but want to be a short drive from Glasgow, this is it!

    Carol 2015-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • Charming house right by the side of a sea loch. Very suitable for hikers and nature lovers. And people who like to read books by the fireside ( the upside of having no tv: )What we especially appreciated was that the house was well equipped: they even have a pasta making machine!

    Ariaan2016-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Eleanor's house. The communication was clear and she provided us with everything we needed. Her neighbor Eileen let us in and was great, giving us tips on where to visit and eat, even leaving us some food for the next day. The house itself is cozy and lived in, right on the water and just a little out of town, perfect if you are looking for a quiet place to relax and it was central to other spots we wanted to visit nearby and close enough to Glasgow for a day trip.

  • A lovely little bolt-hole on Lochgoilhead. The room is immaculate, private, with views over the loch. Gerald and Chloë could not have been more welcoming, warm and considerate hosts. They seemed to take great pleasure in sharing their interests for the local area from fishing and canoeing, flying and driving to cuisine and interiors. Now available for Christmas and New Year and beyond. Cobbler View #2 is a delightful detached bungalow in a small development just outside of Lochgoilhead village, sitting in an elevated position above the Loch. The holiday home has breath-taking views toward the mountains of the Loch Lomond National Park.
Cobbler View gives access to commanding loch and mountain views through a large open lounge window and convenient outside decking.
Lochgoilhead (Scottish Gaelic: Ceann Loch Goibhle) is a village in the Scottish Highlands in Argyll, Scotland. It is located with the Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park and is widely considered to be one of the most beautiful areas in Argyll and in Scotland as a whole (Loch Lomond National Park)
  • A delightful 3 night stay booked at very short notice. The bungalow is clean and for just the two of us was very spacious indeed. It has all the facilities you might expect. Even for a larger family there is plenty of room with 3 genuine double bedroom and 2 bathrooms and a cloakroom. The view from the lounge is amazing and the surrounding area is very beautiful. Eddie was very responsive and as a new owner it is clear that he has made some cosmetic improvements since buying the place recently. The website photos accurately reflect the bungalow. Two choices of dining spaces and a large kitchen area so even if full with 6 sleeping you would not get under each other's feet. Ceratinly somewhere I would stay again whilst visiting the West Coast of Scotland. Eddie was a superb host being both responsive and more than helpful. I got he impression he genuinely cared that we should enjoy his "home. Full marks for customer service. I would recommend both Eddie and Cobbler View!!!!

  • The house is beautiful and the views amazing which made up for the narrow road leading to the property. The reaction of my sister-in-law visiting from Brazil was a joy to behold. Well equipped with kitchen utensils and cleaning products. There is a little CostCutter shop and a restaurant at the nearby caravan park. It was quiet and comfortable. We enjoyed our stay. Thanks Edward.

  • We had a great 3 days in Lochgoilhead staying at Edward's place. The view from the balcony is fantastic. The rooms are spacious, well presented and clean. The house itself is in a quiet and peaceful location with the only noises being the stream which runs into the loch around 200m from the house and the occasional sheep. Having never visited Lochgoilhead before I was amazed by the scenery. The welcome pack that is left in the house was very informative and we used it to explore the local hills and lochs. I really can't fault the place and will definitely be returning.

  • We had good time in Edward's house. The place was clean, the view amazing and Edward was available for each question we had. We will come back in 2 Cobbler view :)

  • Edward has a lovely house with a great view. His houskeeper Jackie did her very best to help us when the heater didn't work. She's so helpfull. The stay was great, we enjoyed the view a lot, with gannets practicing their flight above the loch.

    Amazing Loch & Mountain Views

Only an hour from Glasgow airport, but feels like you've entered another world. Bump down the old track where the Duke of Argyll drove his cattle to market to find this little haven nestled amongst the Arrochar Alps. Lovingly eco-renovated from the old stables on this 17th century farm, a spacious, open-plan studio apartment with mezzanine double bedroom & single sofabed. Woodburner and fresh mountain water. Use as a base to run/climb/paddle the area, or just sit and enjoy the view.
Open-plan, double-height living space with sofa and armchair, stereo, and wood burner. Kitchen and dining area are off the same space downstairs. Kitchen has a gas hob, fridge with freezer compartment, dishwasher, toaster, kettle, crockery and utensils and a few essentials like olive oil, salt and pepper, pasta, porridge. Stairs go up to a mezzanine bedroom with full queen-size bed. Armchair can be folded out into a comfortable single bed on request. Private bathroom with wet-room shower. Outside garden space with chairs and table. Note this space is not fully enclosed so children / pets will need to be supervised.
Lochgoilhead village is 3 miles away by car, or 2 on foot via the old drovers road. The village has a post office, a small shop, a pub, a hotel and a caravan park with swimming pool and other leisure facilities. Great for kids. The Shore House Inn in the village has lovely views over the loch and decent food and beer. Argyll Voyageur Canoes can take you on a guided paddle on the loch with campfires and hot chocolate, and a chance to see the local wildlife. The Fyne Ales brewery (20 mins) in Cairndow has a bar at the farm and is excellent. Inver Restaurant (30 mins) is incredibly special for lunch or dinner. They have had amazing reviews and in my opinion deserve every one for their attention to detail alone. Glencoe (1.5 hour) is really spectacular. Oban (1 hour) is a lovely town with good fresh fish. There is also walking, climbing, horse riding, quad biking and more. Ask us for details.
  • What a fantastic find! An idyllic little hideaway and perfect for a completely restful break. A beautiful drive up from Glasgow got prettier and prettier the closer we got to Anna's place, and the windy road down towards Lochgoilhead is stunning. The stable is well finished with everything you need for peace and quiet! The shower and wood burner are fantastic, and it gets really dark at night with no light pollution for a good sleep (and stargazing!). I will be back - my best Airbnb experience so far. It's wonderful. Go now!

  • Really lovely little place, perfect for a couple of nights peace and quiet in the countryside. Spectacular part of Scotland. Excellent hosts and really thoughtfully stocked space - lots of maps and caramel wafers! Was also great to be able to bring our dog. We'll definitely be back

  • Absolutely stunning and cozy place to stay in the mountains. Highly recommended!

  • The Stable, is a delightful "posh bothy" like place set around the stables of Drumsyniebeg Farm. The interior is designed around the features of the old stables and the farming heritage, and this adds a unique feel to the place. Warm and cosy thanks to a wood burning stove, and hemp insulation, it is a welcome retreat for those who just want to get a way from the mad rush of life and recharge. The drive to and from the farm is picturesque, and adds to the fun element of the stay. The Stables is equipped with the all the essentials for two. Plenty of fascinating books, reflecting Anna's outdoor background. A perfect place for walkers/visitors planning to explore the glens and hills of Cowal Peninsula around Loch Fyne/Loch Goil/Loch Long. The essentials and very good restaurants are all easily drivable from The Stables. A brilliant place to getaway and go back to nature.

  • We cannot say enough great things about this AirBnb and the family who lives here! The airlines lost our luggage and were traveling with a 5-month old baby... Anna was sweet enough to lend us some of her own kids clothing to help us get by for a few days. The place itself is beautiful! Loved the stove, the outside space, the design work and the history. Well done!

  • My partner and I were looking for a quiet weekend getaway and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. Anna was very thoughtful when communicating with us and even took the time to warn us of poor weather conditions the day of our arrival. Anna was so welcoming and even had the fire going for our arrival (despite the late hour). She and her family were wonderful hosts; they were nearby if we ever needed anything but left us to enjoy our quiet weekend to ourselves. The flat is every bit as beautiful as the photos depict. It is a farmhouse stable that has been converted using Anna's own designs; the love and effort she put into the flat is evident in even the tiniest details. There are beautiful throws, pillows, rugs for lounging on the couch or bed. The bathroom was cheerful and the shower was wonderfully hot. The kitchen was well stocked with loose leaf tea, pasta, olive oil, jam, milk, butter, etc. I also enjoyed the exceptional speaker system which came with a well-filled ipod attached for music; we used the speakers when we watched movies on my laptop. There is also a little back garden area; we sadly did not get to enjoy it this time due to bad weather. The fire was my favourite part of our stay; the flat was so warm and cosy that we lounged in shorts! The loft bedroom is beautiful with a large skylight for natural lighting (you can use the black-out shades if you prefer). The location was quiet, remote, and beautiful. My partner and I enjoyed going for a couple walks nearby but spent most of our weekend happily lounging on the couch in front of a warm fire. I can happily say that this was the best airbnb experience we have ever had and we cannot recommend this place highly enough. I look forward to visiting again soon! Thank you Anna for the perfect weekend! xx

  • An extremely nice place – even nicer than the pictures. Martine and Bill made us feel very welcome indeed. They were ever so helpful with organizing our trip, helping us with how to arrive at the property, extending our check-out time and helping us decide on what to see in the surrounding areas. It was really an all-around great stay.

  • Jai & Vonna's place is a real little gem in a very beautiful location. Simply going for a hike up on the several paths that take their origin from close to the accommodation offers spectacular views of the Lochs and the lovely Countryside. The apartment was brand new, well appointed and tidy. One also has the option of purchasing a tasty and generous breakfast at a very reasonable cost. The host, Jai, is a very approachable and interesting individual and we really enjoyed listening to some of his tales. We'll done!

  • Jai & Vonna's Bnb is a lovely and welcoming find in the very quiet, green and relaxing area of Lochgoilhead. We had the pleasure to include a two-nights stay at the farm during our backpacking trip around Scotland on our way back to Edinburgh, and we definitely loved the experience! Jai and Vonna recently renovated the building, and turned a part of the farm into a beautiful and cosy bnb. The two rooms with ensuite bathroom are simply adorable: everything is new, super clean and decorated with love. In the evening you're asked to choose for the breakfast you're going to have the day after: the choice is wide (from the traditional farm breakfast to lighter ones), the homemade food prepared by Jai is delicious and prices are really honest. Jai is a lovely host, very kind (he waited for us to check-in in the late evening), welcoming and helpful; he told us a lot of stories about the area, shared some good time with us and provided us with useful tips and information. I would definitely recommend a stay here! Carrick Castle is a very small village on the edge of the loch, and everything is at about one hour by car. The mobile network in the area is very poor, and this might cause you some troubles to communicate with the host (so arrange your check-in before); we arrived in the late evening but I don't recommend you to do as we did, since you'll be driving in the wood in the dark for at least 16 miles depending on where you come from, and if you don't know the area the first time it might result not so comfortable. If you're looking for a great place where to switch off your mind and plunge into a unique and genuine experience in a real farm, go for it! Thank you Jai and Vonna, hope to come back and see you again! Cheers! Silvia, Sara & Giovanni

  • Jai was a great host and couldn't be more helpful. The place is a little off the beaten track (15min drive to nearest shop), but if you're looking for peace and quite, views of Loch Goil, or somewhere to explore the Western Lochs of Scotland from, then this could be perfect for you.

  • Loved Jai's place! It was a beautiful view and we loved being able to rent the kayaks! Wonderful place to go for a hike or just relax.

  • We were the first guests in this holiday flat. The wifi wasn't fixed yet, but should be by now. Apart from that everything was just lovely over there. If you are looking for a few quiet days walking, fishing or kayaking, this is the perfect place to be. The next store or bitter town is quite far away, but the guest house is situated just opposite Carrick Castle and the Loch, so the view is amazing.

  • We met Jai and he was a fantastic host. Very helpful and welcoming. The location of this place is just brilliant and you cannot be dissapointed. The accomodation is great value for money. Only improvements would be the lounge sofa was on its last legs and could be replaced. However the plan isnt to be spending your stay on the sofa unless it rains :) We enjoyed our stay and would reccomend Jai and Vonna's place highly

  • The apartment is suited right on the shore of Loch Goil - beautiful views and walks close by. Although it is a little off the beaten track, it is easily within a drivable distance from lots of other visitor attractions. The property itself was perfect for ours and our two children. Kai and Vonna were fantastic hosts, happy to help. I would happily stay again and would recommend to others.

  • Super accueil. Jai est souriant et attentionné. Cest un petit village au milieu des montagnes, parfait pour passer des journées au calme et à faire de la randonnée. Super vue sur le lac. Seule bémol, il n'y a pas la wifi. Je recommande vraiment ce logement.

  • A lovely place in the middle of nowhere. if you plan to hike than you are perfectly right here. if you plan to go into a pub or a restaurant it is a bit difficult. The room is cozy and has its own bathroom. There is a living room for the guests which can be used. we had a nice stay and we can recommend it.

  • This was my first time in Scotland for a short 3 night trip, and my stay at Carrick Farm made it a good one. The accommodation was comfortable, both my bedroom (double room with ensuite) and breakfast/living room where I spent several hours each evening reading after a long day's hike. Great view of the lake and surrounding hills. Jai was a very gracious host, offering recommendations on nearby walks (which I took) and serving up generous sized breakfasts in the morning. The farm is easy to find but keep in mind that phone signal is iffy at the best of times, so if you need to make contact before arrival, it's best to do so nearer the towns.

    Ravi2017-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • Jai and Vonna are great hosts, they are really friendly and helpful with everything we needed or asked about. Jai even lended us his smoker for our mackerels that we caught in the bay and Vonna gave us a bucket for fishing - both are things we haven't asked for... We won't hesitate to recommend your place to our friends and family should they want to visit Scotland. Thank you again for everything. Bence and Adri

  • Jai and Vonna's farmhouse is absolutely perfect - beautiful newly renovated room & ensuite, but still with charm & character! The breakfasts were incredible - fresh bread baked every morning and a great choice of sweet and savoury options. Jai was super helpful with his local knowledge and they even had a dry room to dry off the wet clothes after a long walk. We had a great time!

  • The farm is a lovely place to stay for a few nights in the Scottish countryside. We went walking and rented kayaks. Jai is very friendly and helpful. The place was clean, tidy and comfortable.

  • If you like a bit remote, this is the place. The drive through narrow winding roads to Carrick Castle is an adventure on itself. We loved it. Beautiful scenery throughout. We were welcomed by Jay and Misty the dog and got a free upgrade to a larger room. There’s coffee, tea and cookies in the room, and a very good breakfast available.

  • The location of the house is secluded, which we loved. No mobile reception, and wifi is sometimes unreliable...but that we wanted when we are on a holiday. View is excellent from all sides of the house. The village is surrounded by mountains and you can see the mountains through all the windows. Very quiet, lovely neighbourhood. In 2 minutes, you can reach to the lochgoilhead shore. Make sure you have good stock of groceries/food as there is no superstore in 25 miles. Only one costcutter in the village and a pub the Goil Inn...food is nice. The decorations and furnitures are very basic in the house. The appliances are workable but a replacement would be great. Overall its a very lovely place to stay.

  • Bowater cottage is really a perfect place to stay at if you're looking for some peace and quiet. Leonard is a great host - upon arrival he gave us a ride to the store & pointed out hiking trails and places to visit, then gave us our much valued privacy (while still checking in too see if we were ok/lacking anything). So, all in all a perfect host for us! As for Lochgoilhead, we loved the hikes and the beautiful scenery (!) and the calm location of the cottage. Managed great without a car too! All in all, a wonderful stay. Would definitely stay there again! Thanks, Leonard!

Please note that weekly stays in the summer from 15 July to 1 September have a Saturday arrival. LOCATION WITHIN THE LOCH LOMOND NATIONAL PARK Ivybank was built around 150 years ago as the gardeners cottage for the large Victorian villa situated next door. When the owners modernised the holiday home they were careful to retain many original features. Inverlounin Road is a single track private road leading from the village and following the east shore of Loch Goil. In parts the road is in an elevated position and there are many original grand Victorian homes built between the road and the grounds sloping down to the loch side. Parking is at a premium so the parking bay for one car off the road at the entrance to the property is a great start. As soon as you step out of your car you will be drawn to the view. The cottage is elevated from the lochside and this is only a taste of the uninterrupted views to be enjoyed from the outside patio area. Care has been taken to make sure access is suitable for all. There is a ramp with a slight slope to a side door and then one step to enter the property. From there all rooms, except the double bedroom, are on one level so Ivybank is suitable for anyone with limited mobility. It is a pleasant 10 minute stroll down Inverlounin Road into the village where you will find the post office and general good store and the Goil Inn which is the village pub and restaurant. Either a 30 minute walk through the village, or around the lochside; or a 5 minute drive on quiet roads, you will find more dining and activities available at the Drimsynie Estate. For a small lochside village there truly is an impressive choice of places to go and things to do. Boat hire is available in the village, with free fishing on the loch. There are endless walks from the doorstep for all ages and fitness and cycling and mountain biking give access to fabulous views. TOUR THE COTTAGE You enter the cottage via the patio area into the sun room. Being on the east side of the loch you have the sun till late in the day when it dips behind Beinn Bheula and Beinn Lochain. The sun room is private and perfect for relaxing and enjoying the view and looking out for the visits from the red squirrels and bird life in the garden. From the sun room you enter a small hallway which has a full sized walk in shower and toilet off to one side. The kitchen is modern and equipped with everything you need for a self-catering holiday. There is a wall mounted TV with its own signal. You can watch a different programme than what is being shown in the lounge. The heart of the cottage is the spacious lounge. Who wouldn’t enjoy the special effect that a wood burning stove adds to a lounge? The modern touch of a large wall mounted TV with Freeview makes for a cosy space to socialise and relax. Ample hot water on demand and the cottage is heated by temperature controlled space heaters. Towels are provided. To the front of the cottage is the patio area with a path leading down to the garden which is built on three terraces. The views across the loch to the far hills are stunning at any time of year, and sunsets are a delight. Scenery - picture postcard Scotland. Within the Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park, Lochgoilhead sits at the head of a total fjord type sea loch. Backed by the mountains of the Argyll Forest Park, we like to think this place is pretty special. Activities - for a small village there is an excellent choice of things to do. Take to the hills on a number of marked walking trails. Take to the water on kayaks, a group canoe trip or hire a boat. The local leisure centre has a 25m indoor swimming pool, sauna,a Jacuzzi, indoor play area and a range of activities. Open to the public. Entertainment - Friday night in the Goil Inn is either an acoustic night or bar entertainment. The nearby holiday village has regular entertainment. Touring - We have a number of scenic drives laid out for you for the must-see things in the area. Tours of the Cowal Peninsula, drives to Glencoe, Oban, the Trossachs - and Edinburgh.
