Cocktail bar
“La Bodeguida del Medio is a perfect place to drink fresh Mojito after a long day of sightseeing! The bar claims to being the birthplace of the Mojito cocktail, prepared in the bar since its opening in 1942. The menu is typically Cuban: boiled rice, black beans, pork shank, manioc, pig shank roasted in its juice, pork rinds and toasted fried plantains. ”

Ristorante cubano
“At the heart of Havana, in the Callejon del Chorro, near the Cathedral, the Doña Eutimia palate mixes the modern and familiar. The restaurant's name is a tribute to Eutimia, a lady who lived across the square and who used to cook for the artists in the Taller Experimental de Grafica artists such as Fabelo, Choco, Nelson Domínguez among others. Those big Cuban artists remember her with much love due to the flavors of her kitchen and the affection with which she always treted them. That's the guideline of our work: to develop a Cuban, homemade, simple and loving food.”

“La Vitrola even when it seems a bit touristy, because it is in the Old Square, it tells part of our history with its decoration based on the 50s, it has a lot of variety, good prices, excellent service, it has outdoor tables to enjoy the Plaza Vieja, offers breakfast (from 8:00 AM), lunch and dinner (until 12:00 midnight) and is only a few meters from our accommodation.”

“Habana 61's menu features Cuban classics with a fresh twist. The lobster is among their most popular dishes, but the traditional 'ropa vieja' is just as delicious. For a starter, don't miss the cold tomato soup with shrimp. Located in one of the fastest developing areas of Old Havana, this small restaurant is often booked during high season.”

“It's called Museum of Chocolate, but really it's a cafeteria where you can sit and have anything chocolate-related. They make their own chocolates next door - the queue is absolutely worth it!! (Try the chocolate that has coffee cream in it!)”

“This spot is an escape hatch from Old Havana’s sightseeing crowds and popular meeting place for Cuban creative types. Healthy options on the Mediterranean-influenced menu are a breath of fresh air – caponata, hummus with crudités, antipasti and salads – or linger with a book over a rum-spiked coffee or jazzy G&T (garnishes include peppercorns and rosemary).”

“ Museo Casa del Chocolate, ubicado entre las calles Amargura (sin ánimo de ironía) y Mercaderes de La Habana Vieja, realiza un recorrido sobre la historia del cacao, su cultivo, la producción y la comercialización. En él se muestran interesantes textos sobre la historia del chocolate, así como carteles de diferentes épocas de conocidas industrias y firmas de chocolate extranjeras y nacionales. Casa del Chocolate Museum, located between Amargura and Mercaderes streets in Old Havana, takes a tour of the history of cocoa, its cultivation, production and commercialization. It shows interesting texts about the history of chocolate, as well as posters from different eras of well-known foreign and national chocolate industries and firms”

“Bianchini is an amazing place to taste Cuban and international desserts. The decoration of the place, the quality of the coffee, cookies, and the rest of the handmade deserts, and the friendly workers worth several visits! This is one of the best examples of the success of the openness for the private sector: a Cuban-Swiss woman decided to open this desert shop, and it has become a remarkable place in one of the most centric areas of Havana Vieja.”

Ristorante cubano
“Located above the restaurant La Mina, this is the studio for five of the great figures of Cuban art: Zaida Del Rio, Angel Ramirez, Carlos Guzmán, Ernesto Rancaño, Pedro Pablo Oliva, and Roberto Fabelo. What is special about this location is the way the artists have personalized their individual studios. The artists are sometimes there, and will greet guests and discuss their work. It’s best to visit during the morning. Most of the artists like to begin working early, when they feel the most creative.”
