  • Thank-you Tony for a smashing stay. You are a fabulous warm host going out out of your way to make us feel welcome including going out in the rain to guide our car into the correct location. The actual facilities are the best AirBNB I've encountered by far. The whole place is brand new and very well appointed with lots of extra stuff you don't normally get like your own lounge, kitchen (with all equipment), washing machine that also dries your clothes. We'd recommend anyone to stay at your place. Best, Chris

  • Defiantly a 5/5! Good location, drive only 10 minutes away from Bath city centre. The cottage itself was immaculate, with everything you need for your stay. Communication with Tony was brilliant and quick and gave us all the information we needed. Also, the bed was very comfy, best sleep I've had in a long time. If you're visiting Bath, this is the place to stay.

  • The apartment is lovely, clean and extremely comfortable for 2 person. It is well-equipped with everything that you need. A pity we are only there for 2 nights. It is located in a quiet area and requires a short bus ride to the city centre.

  • Excellent very modern and clean cottage. We loved our stay here, it was the perfect place.

  • Tony's cottage was perfect for our one-night stay in Bath. It was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. It was super easy to reach on the bus from the town centre. I'd definitely stay here again if I'm back in Bath.

  • Exactly as described and looks in the pictures. Clearly a new build and in immaculate condition. Very welcoming, cosy and enjoyable.

  • This place is GREAT! a lovely spot about 10/15 mins away from the centre. Its easy to get to on buses and you can always get a cheap taxi. Its worth staying outside the centre as you have your own space, a great little annex with living area and a really comfy bed. Its quiet and peaceful. We couldnt ask for much more

  • Myself and my partner had a great stay at the tree-house. It is really just as magical as it looks in the photos and a great way to celebrate a special event. Tony was also really helpful in the preparations and ensured our stay was perfect. Special mention to the fun-loving squirrels who danced across the bannister of the balcony.

Lovely sunny room in period cottage along quiet and pretty village lane. Freshford is close to Bath with its own train station, bus service, country walks and many other attractions nearby.
Lovely sunny bedroom with large window, comfortable double bed and fitted wardrobe. Shared bathroom (good shower but no bath). A second bedroom with sofa bed is sometimes available - please enquire if you need this.
Freshford is a delightful village on the river Frome, with beautiful views and walks all around. It has a lively community shop and café, a pub, church and a primary school.
  • Quiet and peaceful. Perfectly situated for Bath.

  • Perhaps my happiest stay ever at a B&B. LouLou was extremely helpful when I had problems affecting when I would arrive - or if I could at all. If you like or are open to the quirky and genuine this is an ideal please to stay. The vegetarian breakfasts were lovely. She gave me a slice of a seed bread that she happened to be baking - that was out of this world. I really recommend trying the Spirulina snacks that she makes as a business - my favourite the cacao. The road and indeed many of the roads round there are narrow and not for nervous drivers. I would definitely say here again.

    Richard2017-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful cottage in a gorgeous village. Loulou couldn't have been more welcoming or accommodating. The perfect host. I only wish we could have spent more time there.

    Philip2015-11-29T00:00:00Z
  • I was made to feel very welcome by Loulou. The house was beautiful as was the whole village. I'd love to go back there and wouldn't hesitate to recommend to others.

    Mary2015-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • We were made to feel welcome when we arrived & Loulou was happy to accommodate us arriving late. The room was clean & comfortable with a great view. We were offered lovely fresh bread, local jam & a selection of cereals for breakfast. If we'd had time, we would have explored the beautiful countryside around the village. We'd be very happy to stay again.

    Adrian2016-04-10T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay, near and easy access to Bath, very calm all day and night, and amazing landscape. Super clean and comfortable, Lou Lou is a great host!

  • Loulou was a great host for me and my girlfriend. She was very friendly and hospitable! The location of her home is amazing too! The village (Freshford) is picturesque and worth the 10/15 minute journey out of Bath. Loulou's house if beautiful and the room was immaculate. I would highly recommend to anyone who is looking to stay near Bath.

    Tom2015-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • Loulou's cottage is indeed idyllic, in a little hamlet outside Bath with beautiful views. The cottage is spotless, spacious and lovely to look at, and the bed is very comfortable. Loulou is gentle and friendly and so is her cat! The house has a calm atmosphere -- I would love to go back one day.

Abbotsleigh Cottage is a stylish contemporary apartment within a Regency country house. Bright & airy with it's own private entrance, equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay, enjoys stunning views. Just 10 mins from the glorious City of Bath.
With it's own private entrance and equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay, the apartment enjoys stunning views over wooded valleys and countryside beyond. Outside there are seating areas overlooking the sunny south facing gardens. The stately panelled bedroom has a super king size corbeille bed, with Egyptian cotton sheets and en-suite shower room. A second bedroom leads off the main bedroom with full sized comfortable bunk beds suitable for adults and kids alike. In the living room, a large sofa converts quickly and very easily into a comfortable full size double bed. We list the apartment sleeps four as we feel that is appropriate for the space, however there are beds for six if required for a larger family. Additional charges apply please ask for details.
The village of Freshford, designated an 'Area of Outstanding Beauty' a place were every one walks and everything is in walking distance. Our beautiful 16th Century village Pub is a short walk through the village down by the River. A traditional country pub with contemporary craft flavour, original timber beams, open fires, a beautiful garden, serving great food, real ales and fine wines. We also have a well stocked friendly shop and cafe offering delicious breakfasts and lunches. Loads of wonderful walks most with pubs and cafes along the way. The wonderful City of Bath is just 10min drive or 9min train ride away. Longleat Safari Park is just 25mins away and Stone Henge only 28miles away.
  • We had a lovely time at Phil and Naomi's who were both welcoming and friendly. The accommodation is spotlessly clean and homely and was big enough for us and our four and two-year-olds who also enjoyed playing in the garden. We really loved being in Freshford, a beautiful, peaceful village with easy walks for the kids and a great local cafe.

  • Everything about this stay is over the top. The hosts are extremely gracious and considerate. It was immediately obvious that they are professionals in hospitality. The apartment is really exquisitely designed. The house and grounds are beautiful. The village is also lovely to walk through. We wished we could have stayed a month(URL HIDDEN)Thank you so much, Philip and Naomi! We will recommend your apartment to everyone we know to be traveling in your area(URL HIDDEN)-- Eric & Shobhi

  • We were made very welcome upon our arrival. We had wood for the fire, homemade brownies (divine!), a cot for our little one, and directions around the surrounding area. It was a perfect escape from London - cozy, clean, comfortable bed and beautiful scenery. We will definitely come back to this Airbnb!

  • Wonderful place to stay and relax. Would recommend!

    Jo2017-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great alternative to a hotel. It provides bags more space and enables you to feel instantly relaxed in stylish surroundings. It is part of the owner's home, but it doesn't feel like that because it is completely separate. What's more, Freshford transports you back to a bygone era and you can't help but enjoy the elegance of the whole place.

    neil2016-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Abbotsleigh is great as either a retreat or a base for trips into Bath with some lovely walks and a kids play area nearby, and the train station with a direct link to Bath only a 10 minute walk away. The layout of the apartment works really well if travelling with young children as the child's room is linked with the main bedroom, and the kitchenette is shared with the living room so you can cook whilst keeping an eye on mischievous little ones. Philip and Naomi made us feel very welcome and were very helpful. We look forward to staying again!

    Laura2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Abbotsleigh Cottage is a home away from home. Philip and Naomi are truly wonderful hosts. We especially appreciated the log fire on the cooler autumn nights. Our family had a very special stay in Freshford and the location is idyllic for those wanting to be away from city life.

    asha2016-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • The location was beautiful and the house is definitely nicer than what the pictures show. Phil and Naomi were really friendly and welcoming. The house is very nicely decorated, the bed was really confortable and we found everything we needed. Freshford is a lovely village and the location is great to explore the area and visit Bath. I wish we could've stayed more, we had a perfect and relaxing weekend at Abbotsleigh Cottage, highly recommended!

A large and comfortable holiday home within 15 minutes drive to Bath, 10 minutes drive to Longleat and 15 minutes drive to Frome. Suitable for friends, families, birthdays, hen breaks and corporate parties.
Beautiful house, with private gated drive (4+ cars) and enclosed garden with hot tub. Within the house you will find a country style kitchen, large dining area and huge lounge supplied with TV, Wii and Xbox. A small office is next to the lounge and has a computer with internet and printer. There is an indoor swimming pool (approx. 9.5mx3.75m) and two games rooms offering Ping-pong, mini pool table and a small selection of gym equipment. We also have a selection of games for all ages. In warmer months there are table and chairs on the patio. The first floor has 3 en-suite double bedrooms, and 1 four poster bed with en-suite featuring a Jacuzzi bath. The second floor has a double room, a twin room, a family room and a family bathroom. A cot bed and one set of baby monitors is also available. Please remember this is an old building - it is a converted barn and mill, so expect rustic charm and an unusual layout.
A quaint English village, just 15 minutes from the Roman city of Bath. It is peaceful and has lots of beautiful old buildings and views. The house itself is behind a high-walled garden with large wooden gates, so very private. One of the oldest pubs in England (700 years old) is a 5 minute walk away, known as the George Inn.
  • This is a fantastic house for a large group of people and everything was as expected when we arrived with the added bonus of a welcome cake left out for us! I txt Charles on the Friday evening to ask a question and he was very prompt to follow up with a phone call and help me out. Would definitely recommend to a friend. Thanks for a great weekend!

    Roanna2016-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • The house is huge and beautiful, we had a great time and loved the Jacuzzi!!! Only negative note is that the 3 bedrooms in the second floor have some mould (probably the swimming pool that is causing humidity). But the rest is just perfect. Charles was always available and we found a delicious chocolate cake to welcome us when we enter the kitchen the first day.

    daniela2016-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect house for a celebration with friends, everywhere was clean and ready for our arrival - wonderful birthday weekend I would thoroughly recommend this house!

    Jenni2016-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at this property with friends for my husband's 50th and had a great time, even the teenagers! The property was well equipped and had everything we needed. The pool was great, certainly warm enough and surprising big. The only downside was, as others have mentioned, the shower in the shared bathroom, which was a shame, but we managed. We got Tesco's to deliver on the day of our arrival which worked really well. On the Saturday evening we ate in the local pub, a 10 min walk away, which we'd booked several weeks before, as there were 15 of us we were given their private function room - so this worked out really well too. A great weekend, thank you Charles

    Helen2017-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely weekend. The house is so big & there was plenty of room for all of us (13 people in total). The hot tub was very popular within our group & I'd definitely recommend this house to other people due to its size & location (it's only a short bus ride away from Bath). Charles & the team were very helpful & responded to queries very quickly & provided a welcome pack the day before explaining everything we needed to know about our stay.

    Sarah2016-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • The weekend went far too quickly: 13 of us for a 60th birthday celebration, with ages ranging from 16 to 80. The swimming pool and hot tub got a lot of use! We had a fantastic time and felt very much at home at The Cornhouse: will be recommending it to our friends.

    Trish & Seamus2017-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful house - there were 25 of us in total and we had lots of room. facilities were great and we all enjoyed the hot tub. Swimming Pool was great for the children

    Laura2015-11-16T00:00:00Z
  • Really lovely house, garden and hot tub great additions. House is in a really nice rural village location but is an easy taxi journey to bath. Really enjoyed our stay here.

The cottage has been decorated and furnished to a very high standard and all the equipment and information you might need for your stay is provided. The owner(Fenella) was incredibly helpful and the welcome hamper which was left for us was a lovely touch. We would not hesitate to recommend the cottage to our friends and family. Excellent in every way!

  • Rarely have I been to a place were you could see such attention to detail. A welcome hamper, milk in the fridge, cottage well furnished and decorated, Christmas tree light up on our arrival, my friends wanted to stay and move in. Location is very good, nice countryside, short walk to the train station and pub at the bottom of the lane. All in all a very nice long weekend, can highly recommend it.

  • We loved White Hart Cottage and the village of Freshford. Cottage was clean, comfortable and cosy and had everything we needed. Freshford is a lovely spot and the perfect location for trips to Bath and Longleat. Fenella left a lovely welcome pack and we were able to contact her when needed throughout our stay. This was our first Airbnb rental and we were very impressed.

Contemporary house on two levels cut into the hillside. Unbelievable views. Beautiful light sunny double bedroom, Egyptian cotton sheets, cotton towels, and luxurious ensuite bathroom. Shower and bath.
Artist and writers hideaway, wall to wall views of the beautiful Somerset countryside, only 12 minutes from the Georgian city of Bath.
I would recommend having a car as we live in a hamlet in the countryside 12 minutes from Bath city centre by road. (about £14 taxi ride). We are also about 12 minutes drive from Bath Spa University . It is a wonderful area for walks. We are close to the cycle track which runs from Radstock to Bath. There is a very good local pub in Wellow with great food called the Fox and Badger. ( about 5 mins drive )

Our bedroom and ensuite bathroom were lovely, with lots of luxurious trimmings and thoughtful extras, a superbly comfortable bed, and a beautiful view over the valley from the full height window. Nothing was too much trouble for Sara who was most generous with her knowledge and advice about the area. Her house and garden are beautiful, enjoyed over a superb breakfast of homemade granola and delicious pastries. The location is fantastic for an exploration of Bath and the surrounding area. We cannot recommend this place highly enough!

  • This was a delightful stay. I arrived and Sara was immediately very welcoming and hospitable throughout. First impressions are of a lovely property with a fantastic landscape view, which the room I had also looked across. Room was perfect and the bathroom really spacious. I had no problem sleeping at all. Breakfast was just right with plenty of healthy options to get me through the morning and Sara was more than happy to accommodate my nut allergy. I also got chance to look at a really good book collection. Overall, I will have no hesitation returning to stay with Sara and would recommend to anyone.

Bath si trova a 10 minuti di distanza, con le attrazioni locali come le Terme romane, il Museo Americano, il Museo Holborn, il Thermae Spa, e una grande schiera di negozi, caffè, bar e pub. • Hannah made us feel very welcome when we arrived, the cottage is so cozy and everything we needed was here! It is located in the most beautiful village just outside of Bath. We couldn't have been happier with the location. Another plus for us was that there is plenty of parking and a lovely shop nearby to get a coffee and some food! We would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to stay in the Bath area!

  • We had a lovely long weekend at the cottage. Hannah was a great host, very warm and welcoming. Made good recommendations of things to do with our toddler and baby. Fab day at Longleat and cycling along the canal. A stairgate and baby cot were provided for us (and some biscuits and cereals which was a nice touch). We enjoyed the Friday night pizza van that comes to the village and also a nice meal in the newly renovated village pub.

    Kerry2016-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cottage in a beautiful little village. Bath is an easy drive. Be sure to check out the village shop for coffee and croissants, and the Wood fire pizzas on Friday nights.

  • We loved it here. Even our 8 month old was catered for with the really handy travel cot. The cottage was lovely and our hosts were excellent (we are already planning another visit) Freshford was great and so convenient for Bradford on Avon and Bath. The village is so pretty (but expect lots of hills)

  • This is a very comfortable and cosy cottage set in a very friendly village with a wonderful community shop and cafe. There is easy access to the train station so that getting into Bath is a doddle. Beautiful walking country, great pubs, thoroughly enjoyable!

  • Wonduerful place! I really recommend it, we stayed for 2 nights and enjoyed it very much. The cottage is well furnished and lovely. Hannah is very helpful. I will stay here again if I go to Bath next time.

  • What a beautiful little place! We have just got back from a perfect little break at Hobb's cottage. Set in a beautiful village with a great rail connection to Bath and stunning surroundings. Clean, cosy and everything we needed for our little family. We would definitely like to stay again

  • We had a wonderful weekend break at Hobb's cottage! A lovely, quiet area, but still nice and close to the city so we could spend our evenings and days there! Hannah was extremely welcoming, and was easy to contact before and during our stay if we needed her. We had everything we needed, and we can't fault the place or the hosts! Thank you so much!

Friary Coach House (5-star AA rated) is on the River House estate very near Bath. Ideal for a couple, or small family (up to 5 guests), it is spacious with unusually large rooms. There are peaceful country walks, great local pubs, farm shops, plus private fishing and rare breed farm animals on site. There is a train (10 minutes) and bus service to Bath from Freshford village nearby. Close to Farleigh Hungerford Castle, Iford Manor and 8 miles from Longleat. Full English breakfast available.
Friary Coach House has a fully-fitted modern kitchen perfectly equipped for long or short stays and a large reception room with sofas and comfortable chairs. The very large double bedroom spanning the entire first floor has a super king bed and a charming balcony with views over the landscaped gardens. Further beds include: a single bed in the reception area; a portable to go anywhere; and a double sofa bed in the sitting area of the bedroom. All linen is 100% 400 gsm cotton. We stock your fridge with a Continental breakfast, but our chef will prepare a traditional English breakfast, at a small extra cost, if required. Delightfully warm and snug in the winter, there is air-conditioning throughout for summer months.
Friary Coach House is in a secluded valley accessed by a 'no through road'. It is very peaceful, yet under 10 minutes to Bath. The village of Freshford is a short walk and there is an excellent village shop/cafe, 2 churches and a pub with its own brand of beer.
  • We had a lovely stay at the Friary Coach House with Penny and Richard hosting. The house itself is well equipped with everything you would usually need for a lengthy stay, the shower had great pressure and the boiler provided plenty of hot water when required. Richard and Penny were ever so kind to provide our first breakfast by stocking the fridge with milk, eggs, orange juice, fresh pastries, a good selection of fruits. Cereal and a wide selection of teas/coffee were also available. The living area was kept clean and is very spacious yet cosy. The immediate area is lovely for short to long walks with lovely terrain and views, there are a couple of lovely pubs/inns to check out when visiting. The house is located 15mins drive from Bath town. The friendly animals kept near the house were fun to watch, especially the miniature Shetland ponies. I will happily stay here again when I next come to visit Bath and surrounding areas. Thanks again Penny and Richard for the pleasant stay :)

  • Penny and Richard were the perfect hosts who welcomed us on arrival. They are both friendly and helpful, and they made our stay a very enjoyable one. Friary Coach house is of a very high standard. The kitchen is well equipped. Penny supplied us with a welcome breakfast pack which included eggs, bread, yogurt, fresh fruit, several varieties of tea and some very scrumptious cakes. We didn't want for anything. The bedroom on the first floor is a delight. Lovely furnishings and a comfortable bed. The location is beautiful and very tranquil with great walks, which suited us as we had our Chocolate Lab with us. The livestock of sheep, ducks and a pig were great to watch and to be near.

    Diana2015-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • We had an absolutely lovely stay at the coach house. It was the prefect hideaway but still close enough to explore Bath and the surrounding area. The cottage was perfectly equipped with all the necessary equipment and basics to allow us to cook some lovely meals. Penny and Richard made us feel very welcome, giving good info on local pubs and farm shops and let us use the garden and facilities. Most importantly for our four year old Penny let him ride on one of the ponies. A holiday highlight! We would love to visit again and would fully recommend this beautiful place to stay.

    Jennie2016-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing experience. I cannot recommend this place enough. The location is very scenic, right by the river and far enough away from the nearby conurbations for that relaxed, secluded feel to unwind, but also close enough to quickly travel in for some sightseeing in Bath or to the local shops to stock up on essentials. The accommodation is very spacious and of an excellent standard, perfect for both a weekend getaway and also more extended periods. We wanted for nothing here, especially since the fridge was kindly stocked with breakfast foods and essentials for our stay. And finally, but by no means least, the hosts. Both Richard and Penny are excellent hosts. Richard is a true gentleman whom met us upon our arrival, giving us the tour of the Coach House, showing us how to use everything within and sharing his extensive knowledge of the local area, including the scenic walks, rare breed of animals in the surrounding fields and local amenities. Penny was also on hand taking care of the animals in the local area and was lovely to meet, albeit it briefly. Both were nearby enough to offer advice on things to do locally but also far enough away to maintain that secluded feel from staying in the country. A perfect balance. I would 100% stay here again, and very much intend to in the future. Thank you for making a surprise weekend for my other half such a pleasant experience.

    Sean2016-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • Immaculate, All mod and cons, luxury at an idyllic country setting. just the best place we stayed in our country trip (family of 5 with teens). this is the second place we stayed belonging to Richard & Penny (they have another flat in Bath similarly faultless quality & experience). Children will love Freddie & Nigel (Ponies) and pigs and Dali (dog) and a few miles outside Bath just perfect for winding down. Just excellence and must try experience!

  • Friary Coach House was the perfect retreat we only wish we could have stayed for longer. From the moment we arrived, Richard (the caretaker) made us feel right at home, welcoming us and introducing us to the animals on the grounds. The property was immaculate, spacious and full of nice, little touches that helped with our stay including a great selection of teas, coffees, biscuits and our first breakfast for the following morning! The grounds are beautiful with spectacular views in every direction. Our 18 month old couldn't have been happier being amongst the animals, particularly when Richard came out to feed the pigs especially for her. Richard also shared some great recommendations for places to visit in the local area and his local knowledge helped us avoid getting stuck in the Bristol - Bath Marathon traffic mayhem. Can't recommend highly enough.

    Nathan2015-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful place, especially for people coming from city. Both Penny and Richard are very helpful. The house is equipped with everything. One can see a lot of work has been put into the house. Very beautiful! Our stay was too short to allow us to really enjoy the nature in the neighbourhood, it's a pity. Just wonderful! Love to come again!

Set in beautiful surroundings our single storey barn accommodation is attractively & comfortably furnished. Super kingsize bed divided into 2 upon request. You may smell the ground coffee & croissants from our community shop (WiFi here) just 3 minutes away. Leave your car with us & go into Bath or elsewhere from our station. Alternatively there are beautiful walks around & a great pub at which to refresh yourselves. The barn overlooks our large & beautiful garden in which to wander if you wish.
  • Me and my partner had an amazing weekend at the Barn The hospitality was amazing, Penny and Barbara had left milk, jam and had given us money for the breakfast at the local baker/ cafe where we had the most amazing croissants. The cafe is located about 3 mins walk from the Barn and is also a mini supermarket, they have pretty much very thing there. The Barn itself was very cosy, clean and welcoming. The village's local pub has a really good kitchen with lovely staff and very good prices. The train station is very close to the Barn it's about 6-8 mins walk and the train to bath takes about 15 min. Overall it's an amazing location and experience, with lovely hosts we would totally be coming back

  • This is a delightful place to stay, with friendly hosts and the great benefit of a community shop and cafe just a few steps away. The Barn is spacious, peaceful and pleasantly decorated, set in a beautiful garden, surrounded by great walks and easy access to interesting places.

  • Such a warm welcome and a peaceful location right in the very heart of the village - and so close to the shop & cafe to enjoy scrummy croissants and breakfast. The property is so peaceful, relaxing, and such a lovely outlook - and we were well looked after by our hosts. Thank you.

  • Absolutely delightful stay. The place is set well back from a hilly lane within a large private garden. It is very peaceful and serene with off road parking. Large windows allow plenty of sunlight, spacious main room. Wifi is lacking but its a good escape and the large bookcase full of various books provide a good choice of leisurely reading. The convenient shop/café next door sells local produce and we enjoyed the croissants, baguette, eggs and strawberries for breakfast. Penny and Barbara were lovely hosts and ensured we had anything as needed.

Includes Hot Tub - Welcomes you to times of old where the tranquillity of country life revives you from the hustle and bustle of today’s life style and offers you a well deserved break you’ve been waiting for. With idyllic views for as far as the eye can see.. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travellers, and families (with kids).
  • Lovely romantic getaway location. Located in the secluded countryside just outside Bath, perfect for a relaxing couples short weekend break. We reserved the hut with the hot tub and the extra luxury that brought was fantastic. I would definitely stay here again if I was in the area.

  • Beautiful views from a warm bubbling hot tub and then clear starry skies at night. What more could you want! Super impressed you managed to fit in a toilet and shower in the hut without it feeling too cramped in there. The bed was the comfiest bed I have ever slept on. A truly fantastic little break. Book now! :)

  • The hut is what dreams are made of. It's a really cute secluded hut with an unbelievable view. We loved our stay, the hut was very clean and fresh. It has everything you need whilst going away on a break. The bed was comfy, the shower was hot, the hot tub was Devine. We were provided with logs for the fire which was handy, We had the fire on in the morning and late at night. It was really cosy! In the morning their sweet daughter gave us fresh eggs and bread for breakfast. I couldn't have asked for more, this break was unforgettable and we will definitely be back. This lovely garden studio is in an idyllic Georgian village 10 mins from Bath and near to great places to eat and visit but in the middle of the countryside. It is seperate from the house and quiet with stunning views. The studio is characterful and sits in a delightful garden. The small Bathroom and Kitchen are both accessed by an outside glass covered patio which gives you the feeling of being close to the beauty of nature . It is also a lovely place to sit and watch nature rain or shine!
We are happy to welcome people to our garden studio. It is south facing, characterful and full of light and has a glass covered patio which is the access to the bathroom and kitchen. They are both compact but functional and have all the basics. The kitchen has a double hob and fridge but no oven or microwave. The bathroom has a shower, toilet and small handbasin. The studio has a double bed fitted with white egyptian cotton sheets, a wardrobe, table and two chairs. There is a TV and CD player available but they can be hidden behind sliding doors of the wardrobe for those who want to escape the world! We supply a basic breakfast of cereal options to get you started! We also supply milk and coffee and a variety of teas.
Freshford is a special village steeped in history. It is surrounded by beautiful countryside and lovely walks. Wandering through its narrow and sometimes steep lanes is a delight full of different views and quaint houses, beautiful gardens and friendly people. We have a thriving community shop and cafe which does great breakfasts and lunches and stocks most of your basic needs. The Inn at Freshford is a short walk and is a friendly welcoming pub with a good range of pub food. There is also a woodfired pizza oven outside the shop on some evenings. There are great pubs and restaurants in the area just a few minutes drive away. If you fancy a bit of city life Bath is 10 mins on the train with all its historical attractions. There are many interesting places to explore nearby - estates, gardens, canal and rivers!
  • The Garden Studio Retreat is not just an acommodation, it's a home. Brian and Lynda go out of their way to make you feel welcome and have lots of advice about activities. The town of Freshford (Sharpstone actually) is a nice little place with a lovely local shop and coffeehouse. Very nice people all around. I would go back in a heartbeat!

  • This is such a lovely place to stay if your after a quiet village experience. The highlight was the garden for me - Lynda and Bryan do such a fabulous job of taking care of the garden, it's truly vibrant and relaxing. Bryan and Lynda were nice enough to wait for us until we arrived and found us when we got lost on our way - shows how thoughtful they were. Upon arrival, they welcomed us and showed us around the place with some brownies and fresh fruit for our first night. One tip I'd offer future travellers is, if you're driving, it's wisest to park your car on top of rosemary lane as the roads are quite narrow and a big car would struggle. Please book this great place if you would like a peaceful getaway!

  • My wife and I had an awesome stay in this BNB. The room was a good size for two people and the grounds were beautiful. We had a great time chatting with Bryan and Lynda and getting their advice on some local pubs and sights. We made a few stops and saw Bath and Castle Combe but Freshord was just about our favorite part. The village is beautiful and we instantly felt welcomed. We were also on our honeymoon and Lynda was very kind and surprised us with a nice bottle of prosecco which went perfect with the homemade brownies and fresh berries she left us.

    Nick2016-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful little find! A three-day retreat for my mother and myself; we've come away feeling relaxed and so pleased we stayed at Bryan and Lynda's gorgeous place. The garden is absolutely stunning, especially when we could enjoy it (and the fabulous weather) from the little seated area- in the morning for breakfast and into the evening with a glass of wine. Fresh fruit for our breakfast toppers, and a sneaky treat of delicious brownies on arrival. Friendly, generous and kind hosts with a good sense of humour and mountains of local knowledge, with the added bonus of a gorgeous little dog Dylan! Train station was within a short walking distance and so close to Bath and Bradford-on-Avon. We did try to eat at the Freshford Inn but were unfortunately closed- worth checking before you head down! Luckily the Cross Guns (we highly recommend) was a short walk away across a very scenic route, and we got the train back afterwards. Couldn't recommend this place and their wonderful hosts any more. Thank you, we couldn't have asked for any more.

  • Lynda and Bryan were exceptional hosts from the moment we arrived. They did a load of laundry for us and made sure we had the means to dry it. They repeatedly asked and made sure if we needed anything and were comfortable. They gave us tons of tips about local hotspots and restaurants and provided great conversation in the morning before we left for the day. We loved our stay and would do it again in a heartbeat.

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our two night stay at Bryan and Lynda's garden studio. The studio is set in a beautiful well designed garden overlooking a valley. The compact space is perfectly equipped with everything you will ever need and homely at the same time. It is ideally located in a quiet village with easy access to surrounding attractions (Bath & Stonehenge). Bryan and Lynda were excellent hosts and very welcoming - great to meet such a well travelled & interesting couple. We'll be back soon.

  • We were welcomed warmly by Lynda and Brian into their adorable little garden retreat. They had thought of everything we could possibly have needed and even provided us with delicious brownies and a spectacular assortment of teas. We were seeking a relaxed mini break into the English countryside and Freshford is the quinessential setting for such a trip. It was a delight to spend time in the blossoming garden lounging in the sun and playing with the dog as well as exploring the local villages and countryside on some of the local footpaths. Our hosts were thoughtful, friendly, welcoming and filled with knowledge of the surrounding areas. I would love to visit again and highly recommend this space to anyone seeking a quiet country get-away.

  • We enjoyed a lovely stay at Bryan and Lynda's garden studio retreat! We loved having breakfast and an evening glass of fizz under the covered patio which was perfectly decorated with pretty flowers! The garden retreat has everything you need and the compact kitchen with fridge was very helpful allowing us to have pancakes for breakfast YUM! Super comfy bed and bedding! Stunning gardens which you can tell are lovingly looked after, I can imagine in spring it's even more beautiful if thats possible! During our stay we visited the beautiful city of Bath, a must see for all, stunning with something for everyone!! Thank you for making us feel welcome and for the yummy brownies and fruit on arrival! We hope to welcome you to our French airbnb in the near future :-) Christina and Simon

Our family home is located in one of the most sought after villages in the Bath area. Stunning walks and countryside. The village pub is 3mins walk down the road as is the train station - ONLY 10MINS journey TO BATH or Bradford-on-Avon or even 90mins to London.
With a wood burning stove, corner sofa and full bookshelf, DVD's, cable and Apple TV you are set for many cosy nights in. Or you can enjoy a Summer's evening in the garden or watch the sunset from the window seat. Leading on from the living room is the dining room which seats 8. A cubbyhole peers through in to the kitchen which has a double oven, a larder, large fridge/freezer, belfast sink and dishwasher with solid oak work tops. Upstairs is the master bedroom with a roll top bath in the bay window, a large wardrobe and chest of drawers. There are two further bedrooms - one double room with a bunk bed above and a small room with a daybed (which pulls out in to a double bed if you wish). The exposed shower in the wet room is also located upstairs. The large garden outside is a great space for kids and pets alike to run free with the comfort of picket fencing to keep them safe.
It truly is a magical village with a lovely community, beautiful houses and winding lanes. There is a village shop for all your needs, a local pub and the train station is extremely convenient for quick trips to Bath when you don't want to take your car - parking on a Saturday in town can sometimes be a pain! Or even to London too!
  • Sarah was very helpful from the initial inquiry and was contactable throughout the stay. The house is beautiful and the garden is huge! Would definitely recommend to others. The house doesn't have mobile phone signal but wifi is available throughout the house. Can't find a fault. Thanks for a great stay.

  • Lovely home and perfect base for our family weekend away. The pictures and description are a true reflection of Sarah's place. Freshford is a beautiful village and well located for countryside walks and close to Bath. If I were to stay in the area again, I would definitely stay at Sarah's.

  • The house is situated in a beautiful village close to the train station. It's perfect for a weekend getaway and a stones throw away from Bath. It's very homely, spacious and well-equipped. I'd highly recommend it!

  • Really great house, very stylish, well equipped and much bigger than the pictures suggest. Also very well suited to travel with kids and pets - very forgiving! Freshford is a beautiful village and the pub has recently gone through a refurb and is brilliant - we were in there almost every day. We had some trouble getting in touch with Sarah as she was out of the country, but once we were in touch with her sister everything went very smoothly.

  • Very beautiful house with pretty garden in a scenic village 10 minutes drive from Bath. Travelled with big family and everyone enjoyed the stay. Definitely more beautiful and spacious than seen in the pictures.

There is plenty of open countryside, woods and river walks to explore during your stay.
Church Farm House offers wonderful spacious accommodation. A real benefit to this home is two en-suite bedrooms. One in the old barn extension which is up separate stairs away from the main accommodation - perfect for some peace and quiet. There are four downstairs sitting areas and a fabulous office space.
This home is perfectly located with a local shop less than five minutes walk away, two wonderful pubs serving locally sourced fresh food and a superb park and playing field. There are cycle paths close by and horse riding a few minutes drive away. This home is ideal for trips to: Bath, Bristol, Longleat, Stonehenge, Cheddar Gorge and Wells.
  • Perfect for a reunion with friends. Loads of space and lots of beautiful original features. Other comments about damp/mould are unfair, it's just an old house. Village has a small supermarket and Bath and Bradford on Avon are both nearby and worth a visit. Thank you!

  • A wonderful, spacious house not too far from Bath. Even though we were looking to house a group of 10, the house was bigger than we expected! A great mix of traditional cottage and modern housing. A real joy to be in when meeting up with friends we have not seen for a while.

  • Our family of 6 enjoyed staying here, with so much history and great atmosphere. So close to public transport- just at the top of the road and only 20 minutes ride into Bath. Great for walking around the village and farming area. A peaceful, relaxing and quiet area. We would recommend driving 5 minutes down the road to "The Stag" for a delicious dinner. If you like "Escape to the Country" you'll love staying here. Brian and family

  • This is a lovely property with plenty of space for the seven of us staying including outdoor seating. Unfortunately we ran into a few problems including a shower leaking across 2 rooms and the bed slats being broken on one of the beds, causing it to collapse. Fortunately there were enough remaining beds and showers for us to use and didn't affect the overall stay too much. There are lots of great places to sit and dine as a group. We stayed 2 nights and it was easy to get a bus (approx 20 minutes, hourly) into bath. Good communication from the air ready team.

The personal and thoughtful touches such as homemade bread, jam and flapjacks made us feel very welcome. No hesitation in recommending this to our friends and family.

  • Fiona was the perfect host. The flat was located in the quiet village of freshford which is a less then ten minute walk from the station and about 8 minutes to Bath. The village itself has a lovely pub which we didn't get to it at but did have a drink and a shop run by volunteers which is stocked full of goodies. Communication with Fiona was easy with quick responses. On arrival the flats was stocked with local milk, butter, fresh hens eggs, fresh baked break and biscuits and lots more. The flat is easy walking distance from two other villages and ilford manor. It was clean and modern with a hairdryer. I would recommend anyone to visit and would go back next week end. Walking distance to the attractions of Freshford, which included the pub (5 mins walk away) and wood fired pizza van (10 min walk). Great stay and fully recommended.

  • Ivythorpe Coach House was heavenly. Beautifully designed, super comfy beds, lovely appointed kitchen complete with under floor heating-delicious! Freshford couldn't be anymore picturesque with a great village shop, playground and a travelling pop-up pizzeria 3 days a week. Selina was extremely welcoming and helpful. Definitely would recommend Ivythorpe.

  • Picturesque quiet location but within easy walking distance of Freshford train station which takes you to central Bath within minutes. It is also a short walk to the local farm shop and pub. Clean and well turned out, tastefully decorated accommodation. Overall highly recommended!

  • The Coach House is decorated in such a tasteful way - and it's all incredibly comfortable. Big beds - squishy sofa - amazing views - great bathroom products - I could have stayed for so much longer. Selina and all her family were welcoming and available for all our needs, whilst everything still feeling very private. The village is beautiful - with great connections to Bath via train. I'd recommend this to everyone - but thought how perfect it would be for creatives /writers etc. All your needs are met in the village (shop, pub etc.) whilst it being a peaceful countryside retreat.

  • Selina was very welcoming. The Coach house was beautiful appointed and we were welcomed with a lovely treat basket. Freshford is a lovely village a short and convenient train ride into Bath. We have a list of recommended places to visit and eat which we are happy to send these out to prospective guests. Homewood Park nearby offers excellent beauty and day spa facilities as well as fine dining.
  • Amazing cottage in a beautiful location. Was perfect for what we wanted (chilled hen do!). Easy to get into Bath and back again. There is a restriction on hot tub but it was extended to half 8 for our stay and with people staying in the nearby coach house this was understandable and we still managed to get plenty of use out it! Richard and Penny were wonderful hosts and had set up the cottage ready with everything we could possibly need ready for our arrival. Thanks for a wonderful weekend that we will remember for a long time!

    Rebecca2016-06-06T00:00:00Z
  • What a gorgeous place! We had a family get together and everything could not have been more perfect. We were very well looked after and the little touches like fresh flowers in the rooms and cake on arrival were certainly appreciated. Everyone commented on how much they loved the house and we're already looking for excuses to go back during summer months!

  • River House Bath is a lovely property, with beautiful views across a valley. Everywhere was really clean and well stocked with towels, glasses, cooking equipment etc. 8 of us stayed for a company party and what really made it special was the warm welcome from Richard. From leaving us a basket of scones and clotted cream to preparing the fire and the barbecue, nothing was too much trouble. Look forward to staying here again. Thank you.

    Matt2016-05-22T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely beautiful house in a picturesque location. Perfect for the relaxed weekend we were after. Comfortable bedrooms, plenty of bathrooms, and great communal areas, including the outside space which luckily we had the perfect weather to make the most of. Decent size hot tub too. Easy access into Bath by car if looking to venture out. Penny & Richard were great hosts, living nearby so always on hand if needed but happy to leave you well alone otherwise. They went above what was required of them and helped to make our weekend run smoothly.

    Bethan2017-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • A large group of 14 of us booked the River House because of the stunning location and both houses are outstanding accommodation with idyllic views across the countryside. Both Penny and Richard were extremely helpful prior to our visit advising of places to visit, eat and drink and this information proved invaluable to our stay. They also provided freshly laid eggs, bread, milk, juice etc, which was a lovely touch. Upon arrival we where given a tour of the house and the house rules where explained in great detail...and there are a lot of them!! One of the other reasons we had chosen this accommodation was because of the garden hot tub and outdoor cooking facilities available. However, upon our arrival we were told that the hot tub couldn't be used after 7pm, although Richard did extend this to 8pm. This information was not given when we booked backed in December, but has been added to Airbnb since, and is clearly only a recent rule as the sign on the wall next to the hot tub says it shouldn't be used after 11pm, which is much more reasonable. We feel that the hosts should have notified us in advance of this as it may have influenced our decision to stay here - the other property we had looked at had a basement swimming pool. We were a large group of mixed sexes, all professional people, all whom arrived a different times of the day/night and subsequently some didn't get the chance to use the hot tub which is a shame as we had beautiful weather. Similarly when using the garden at night you are advised to keep the noise down and the light off after a certain time and as a result you feel you are best in doors so as to not to upset/disturb anyone. The other issue our group had was privacy. The hosts live in the property next door which has its own land but they are very much present and were often mooching about in our garden during the day/night, it almost felt like we were being watched very closely and was a little overbearing. That said we had a really lovely weekend and Bath is a beautiful city with so much to see and do, we are already planning a visit back there.

    Emma2016-05-09T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed with a group of friends at river house and it was a fabulous weekend. The house is perfect for large groups/entertaining- wonderful big well stocked kitchen with plenty of seating and a large (but still cosy thanks to the open fire) living room. The supplies which penny and Richard left for breakfast were brilliant (and way more than I imagined). Penny and Richard were great hosts- Richard came and made up the log fire ready to go and had set out croquet and mini golf on the lawn (just a shame the weather turned and we never got a chance to use it). Penny arranged a meal for us on the Saturday night and this was great- well worth it. Location is really good- close enough to bath but in incredibly beautiful countryside.

  • BEAUTIFUL HOUSE*** in a gorgeous rural setting just a short drive from Bath. Sleeps 14 comfortably with a lovely long dining table and a big beautiful kitchen which is ideal for cooking and eating together. We were a group of 14 girls on a hen do having a girly weekend of fun. When searching for the accommodation we were specifically looking for a house with a hot tub as a little luxury. River House seemed perfect. After we had paid the accommodation fee in full we were notified of a rather unrealistic curfew of 7pm on the hot tub. There was apparently no flexibility on this, which was frustrating as it's very likely we would have booked other accommodation if we had known this in advance of payment. As expected, we rather innocently broke this curfew - we were on a hen do after all and the prosecco got the better of us. The reaction from the owner/housekeeper was extreme to say the least, and rather disproportionate to the incident. I am fairly sure there are others ways of enforcing a hot tub curfew rather than shouting at one's guests across the garden. We, of course, paid for the hot tub to be emptied and refilled as requested by the owners, though it's highly likely the 'deposits of fake tan solution' that were itemise on the invoice would have been present had we have used the hot tub before 7pm? Ultimately, no harm was done. The hen had a fantastic weekend and the hot tub lives to see another day. This is a beautiful house, at a really reasonable price and friends or family would have a lovely time staying here. Maybe hen do's just aren't their preferred target audience?

  • My experience with Simon was extremely good. His house is beautiful, elegant but also cosy. It feels like you are at home. It has everything you need and is located in a cute village very close to Bath. We arrived late in the evening on a Sunday and he was very kind to welcome us and showing us around despite the time. I was there with a big group and we were all delighted with the place. It is perfect for going with a big group or have a romantic getaway, and it is also very close to Bath. I strongly recommend the Manor and Simon

  • Our stay was brilliant - Simon and family are wonderfully welcoming. The house is even nicer in person - situated next to one of the oldest pubs in the UK and a few minutes away from beautiful country lanes. Inside everything feels homely and the beds and bathrooms and great. Not to mention the breakfast (best eggs ever - must ask for technique!). As a team of 10, Simon went out of his way to look after we booked out the whole place. Great place - highly recommended. I'll certainly be returning. Excellent value.

  • We had a great team building trip to The Manor. The house has been beautifully restored and was perfect for our needs. Simon and his family were very accommodating - attending to our questions and providing us with the food essentials and a great breakfast! We also loved meeting Rosie the dog. Norton St Philip is a very picturesque village and we enjoyed playing skittles at the local pub each night we were there! We'd highly recommend The Manor to others.

The Oaks is a stunning Grade II listed Georgian property, set in a quintessentially English village, 15 minutes from historic Bath. The house comprises of 4 large bedrooms and several entertaining rooms. The Walled garden is ideal for relaxing in and has several areas for children's play. The Village of Norton St Philip houses two historic pubs, The George being the oldest licenced pub in the country. There are endless country walks, with stunning views of Somerset.
Stunning, spacious old house in a Georgian village - lots of green spaces, yet only 15 mins away from Bath Centre and the market town of Frome. We are also 20 mins from Longleat!
Buzzing village with two old pubs, a playground, village green and cricket pitch.
  • We loved staying here! The house is glorious and garden is perfect. Everything we needed was there. The kids loved the play room so much. We have wee twins and found that they were able to have so much freedom in the garden and we were able to relax while they played. The location is brilliant for little ones. We had our 3 children and they enjoyed their time so much. The local park is fantastic for a variety of ages. We have not one negative thing to say. We highly recommend!

  • Hi, highs and lows.... beautiful house in a beautiful village, beds were far too hard for us but that's personal preference. No major problems apart from the upstairs toilet seat falling off the first time someone sat on it, we coped but informed the gentleman who was looking after the property. We had a very pleasant stay, loads to occupy the children in a fabulous playroom, quite strangely no broom, dustpan and brush or mop bucket so tidying up was difficult, we managed. Unfortunately after we checked out Jo sent me an email saying they were charging us for the broken toilet seat and £20 for an lsa glass tumbler we broke. This understandably soured our break and let's us feeling very disgruntled. We're currently trying to resolve it, I don't think we bear any responsibility for what was obviously an already damaged toilet seat and £20 for a tumbler that you can get a pack of 4 for £18 on Amazon is really out of order. Lucy

  • Jo is a delightful host, the house is great very clean, in a fantastic location for countryside, easy access to Bath and pubs a stone throw away. Would highly recommend a stay. Best wishes Birgitta

  • Great location just outside of bath. Both pubs are lovely and great food, just round the corner from the house. Bedrooms were made up with towels left out for us. Bread and milk etc in fridge. Would definitely recommend

We are just 5 miles from Bath city centre, either a 15 minute drive or 30 minute cycle down the picturesque canal path. We are also usefully under 10 minutes driving to Bath University! Open to couples or solo travellers looking for a comfy double bed in a stunning area of Bath. We have a travel cot available for use if required too.
Hideaway cottage gives easy access to both the city but also the surrounding countryside; we have brilliant walking, cycling and exploring on our doorstep. There a great range of country pubs within walking distance.
  • This is a lovely little cottage in a tiny hamlet in the countryside surrounding Bath yet within easy reach. This was the perfect spot for an overnight stay and with Luke and his wife away we had the place to ourselves.

  • Flo and Luke are very friendly and thoughtful hosts. Their cottage is in a lovely medieval village a few kms from Bath. It is a great location for exploring the area (we had a hire car). There is a train into Bath Spa station about 15 mins walk on the other side of the village, which is a very interesting walk. They recommended a local pub, The Freshford Inn: it is fantastic! We had a lovely stay of three nights and highly recommend Luke and Flo.

  • We absolutely loved staying in this cottage! It was so so adorable and cosy. The location was perfect -- close to Bath but in the countryside. We drove but a car isn't necessary given public transport options. Luke and Flo were the consummate hosts -- from the soft new towels to the helpful food recommendations to the coffee and tea. In the morning, they left us breakfast. They were beyond flexible with arrival and departures. I loved staying in Limpley Stokes. Take some time to walk around this hidden gem and relax into your surroundings. We loved the area so much we cut short our time in Bath to come back and walk around Limpley Stokes and the walking paths. We didn't get a chance to meet our wonderful hosts but they made us feel right at home and we're very accessible.

  • My second time staying at Luke and Flo's cottage. As before, I was made to feel very welcome and the accommodation has everything I needed for my 3 days in Bath. It's cosy, comfy and clean! Many thanks to the lovely hosts!

  • Luke and Flo were lovely hosts, welcoming and generous. Their pretty cottage is cosy and clean with everything I needed for my stay. It's situated really close to Bath, on the edge of a small picturesque village. I'll be staying again next week!

A traditional 200 year old cottage, set in a beautiful village location, over looking Freshford Valley. With a lovely sunroom, large kitchen diner, separate dining and living room, decorated in neutral colours. A great location to visit Bath. The city of Bath is approx 15 mins by car, alternatively it is possible to get public transport into the city if preferred. The village of Freshford is lovely, with a local pub and shop in the vicinity, it's very much 'in the hills' and quiet with it too!
The Nitty Gritty detail: Ground Floor Entrance through Porch to Hall, Living Room, with sofa and chairs, TV and DVD player Kitchen, well equipped, including gas hob, electric oven, microwave, fridge, washing machine, dishwasher leading through archway to a spacious Dining Room with table and chairs and access to garden. First Floor Bedroom One with double bed, wardrobe and views to village Bedroom Three with single bed, Bathroom with bath with shower attachment, WC & hand-basin. Second Floor Attic style Twin Bedroom (Two) and great views towards the village, two single beds. Outside Private garden with patio and lawn, garden furniture. Gas central heating, gas and electricity included. Highchair and cot available. Off street parking. Regret No Pets. No smoking
Freshford is a small, working village located in the Limpley Stoke valley, itself a short drive from Bath. As you would expect, the location makes it ideal for walks but it is also excellent for access to Bath which is only 10 mins drive away (or if you want to forget the car completely, 30 minutes by bus, which stops outside the front door, or 7 minutes by train!) From the cottage it is possible to walk right into the heart of classic Cotswolds Countryside via a network of footpaths, including the impressive Peto Gardens of Ilford Manor (www.ilfordmanor.co.uk) which are renowned across the region.
  • Cottage was elegantly furnished and looked lovely. Kitchen has enough plates/bowls/cutlery etc (there were 5 of us). Nice location, about 20min drive from the Roman baths. No phone reception or wifi. Main tip for anyone else coming to visit in winter - bring lots of warm clothes to wear inside. It only has single glazed windows and places where the air gets in, so it's quite cold, and if you need to use the 2 beds in the attic, it's absolutely freezing. And that's literally - I think my daughter's water-bottle got ice inside it overnight. We called the attic room Elsa's ice palace! With lots of warm clothes (and the oven on) it's ok. I'm sure it would be lovely in summer.

    Neeraj2016-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • Cottage was perfect - suited our needs just fine. Warmed up much more quickly than expected. There's very little in the way of mobile signal here, so it's very much suited for a quiet getaway

    David2015-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely house although directions to house and to find key box not totally straightforward. Once we were in the house was great, super village and all in all very successful.

  • Very pleasant house, calm and relaxing and great neighbourhood.

    Magalie2015-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • The village is lovely. The house is spacious. Quiet area. Comfortable beds. Large bedrooms, kitchen, living areas, nice indoor porch. Only issues involved cleanliness of the kitchen. Suspect prior guests put away dirty dishes, rather than wash them. (Pans, bowls, glasses, not just a single item.) Owner did not leave any hand soap in restroom. May have been an oversight, not sure if this is the norm, as this was our first AirBNB. I'd stay here again, and recommend it. Fair price. Charming area. Plan to take bus or train if going to Bath or Wells.

Our house has 3 floors and is part of a terrace of stone houses in the beautiful village of Freshford on the outskirts of Bath. The area is well known for its scenery and wonderful walks. The village has a great pub that serves excellent food, a vibrant community shop with a cafe and a train station all within easy walking distance of the house. It takes only 9 minutes to get to Bath City Centre on the train.
Our house was built around 1820 and has thick stone walls which keep it cool in the summer and warm in the winter. It has thermostatically controlled gas central heating and wood burning stoves in the dining room and sitting room. There is off-road parking at the front of the house and then steps lead up and around the garage to the front door. On the ground floor there is a sitting room, with a high definition 40 inch TV with internet access, hard drive storage and a hi-fi stereo system; a dining room which has a table comfortably seating 8 people, a Mac desktop computer and lots of games and arts and crafts materials. There is an opening through to a fully equipped kitchen including kettle, fridge, freezer, dish washer, microwave, gas hob, fan oven, grill, toaster, bread-maker and food processor. Leading off the kitchen is a small utility area with a washing machine, sink and larder and a door giving access to the gardens at the back. Another door gives access to a small bathroom containing a WC. The garden at the back is terraced with a lawn area and two decks with tables and chairs. On the first floor there is the main bathroom which has a WC, wash basin, bath and a separate shower and underfloor heating. There is a double-bedded room on this floor, a bedroom with two single beds and a third room which we use as a yoga room with a piano. On the next floor up there is another bedroom with windows front and back. It has a superkingsize bed with a tempur mattress.
  • Lovely quiet getaway. Great walks and a friendly home. To be recommended.

  • Tony's house is stylish and homely, and in a wonderful spot. The house is arranged over three storeys with colourful decoration set against white walls and floor boards. Behind the house is a garden with fruit trees and vegetable beds. The house is set back from a steep quiet lane and is part of a small terrace with friendly neighbours. At the bottom of the hill are fields, a village pub and a river. It is a gorgeous spot for gentle country walks. Freshford also has a train station (10 mins to Bath), wooded footpaths, and a village shop. We spent a very happy holiday here.

  • We had a lovely stay at Tony's house. The location was great, only a short walk from a lovely local pub and train station with a quick journey into Bath. The house has a really nice relaxing vibe. It was clean and comfortable, with all that you need for a short stay away. If you intend to visit Bath and the surrounding area then i would recommend Tony's place.

The Stables is a gorgeous cottage in the wonderful village of Wellow 5 miles to south of Bath & a 15 min easy drive to all the art, culture, restaurants, bars & spas it has to offer. We have glorious views & are a few walking minutes from one of the best pubs in the area, a fantastic horse trekking centre, access to the iconic two tunnels cycle path & more walks than you can throw a stick for. We welcome couples, solo adventurers, families & furry friends.
The Stables is a cosy & contemporary cottage recently renovated & very comfortable with all the amenities we (or our kids!) would want ourselves. Welcome hamper, woodburning stove, Nespresso machine, WiFi, Xbox, DAB Radio, iPod station. On a more practical level - all linen & towels are provided & a cot & highchair are available if needed as well as extra pillows & blankets. Please note that there is no bath but a wet room instead.
Wellow is a vibrant & welcoming community which bustles along very happily - a village school, hall & church as well as its close proximity to Bath means that it is one of the most popular villages in the area. An excellent food offering at the local Fox & Badger pub & a well stocked village shop means you never go hungry & the recreation area with playground, football pitch, outdoor gym, running track & tennis courts, the famous Wellow trekking centre, access to Sustrans Cycle Network & endless walks means you will never be bored especially with so many architectural & historic things to note along your way - a neolithic long barrow, a medieval bridge, a Saxon church.....& that's just Wellow! Bath & the surrounding villages give endless options of gastro pubs, restaurants, bars, spas, theatres, festivals, markets, National Trust properties, sporting stuff & just general Georgian gorgeousness. Babbington House, Longleat & Glastonbury are all in striking distance too.
  • What a beautiful place to stay! A pictureseque country cottage with inspiring modern decor, surrounded by beautiful countryside scenes, in a very pretty village. We loved our stay here - it felt like living the English country cottage dream. Mel is a wonderful host and provided lots of thoughtful extra touches and local area info, including a welcome hamper. We loved the snug dining table in the kitchen too. Thank you for a wonderful stay Mel, we really enjoyed being in mellow Wellow.

    Robyn2017-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay with Melanie and her lovely family who were all incredibly welcoming and hospitable! The cottage is beautifully furnished and decorated, spacious and super-comfortable. It really feels like a home from home, only more stylish! We were very lucky with the weather and enjoyed al fresco drinks and dinner on the terrace. Although part of the family's garden, it is very secluded and private and we didn't feel that we were imposing on their own space, indeed our girls were kindly asked if they wanted to play on the table tennis table that was set up. Having not been to that part of the country before, we found it a beautiful area to explore - very tempted to move!

  • We enjoy so much the time we spent in Mel's cottage. We were really near to Bath in a quiet and charming home. Mel is very friendly , we found a surprise basket with plenty of very good food especially some delicious cakes. It was so nice.

  • Melanie's cottage was superb, better than described, based in a lovely picturesque village, yet very close to Bath. The cottage itself was beautifully renovated and spotlessly clean, and communication with Melanie could not have been easier... She even thoughtfully left us a fridge full or fresh provisions, (butter, milk, jam, bread, coffee, tea etc).. and some delicious homemade muesli for breakfast. We look forward to staying here again next tie we are in the area.

    nick2017-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • A simple lovely place to stay. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the cottage. The basket of provisions was much appreciated. Easy communication and easy check in arrangements. All good and I can recommend. Thank you Melanie.

  • Staying at this home was beautiful. The house is better than it looks in the photos and the view from the back verandah is stunning. It is a beautiful village which has a great pub with great food. Melanie, goes extra yards to make your stay enjoyable. You need a car to stay there, and we explored Bath, Stonehenge, Glastonbury etc without too much hassle. I loved it. All the facilities you need are there...well equipped kitchen, lovely lounge room, the beds are beautiful and comfortable, the towels are very fluffy....everything is better than I ever imagined. If I visit England again, I will make this place and the location a part of my trip.

  • Lovely cosy cottage in a peaceful location, great for exploring Bath and surrounding areas. We stayed with our two small children and Melanie provided a cot and high chair which was great. We hadn't read the small print so didn't realise there was no bathtub (only a shower wet room) which was a bit tricky with two little ones, but we managed! Would definitely stay again and will recommend to friends and family.

Wellow is a very pretty village 3 miles from Bath(4 miles to city centre.Traveling time 15-20 minutes)has an excellent village pub(Fox and Badger)and an equestrian Trekking Centre and is a popular destination for cyclists. Chapel House is a converted Victorian Chapel and offers one double en suite bedroom and one single bedroom(measuring 3.75 x 1.8)with private bathroom. Chapel House is on an elevated high pavement overlooking the small Victorian village school and with valley views.
Chapel House offers a light and unique living space. The guest bedrooms and bathrooms take up the ground floor and are accessed via a double front door and hallway(which contains the Chapel organ). The first floor is a spacious living/dining area which features all six of the buildings arched windows and has a valley view.New visitors always comment this area has a 'wow'factor. The kitchen is also in this area. The host lives in the loft space on the third floor. There is small courtyard at the back of the property with a small shed suitable for storing two bikes. There is a separate airbnb site for booking the double /en suite bedroom.
Wellow has many lovely walks.Wellow Trekking Centre has a tea room(The Riders Rest ). The village is a popular destination for cyclists. Nearby pubs include the Fox and Badger which offers great food. Tuckers Grave is two miles away and is a unique time capsule cider house(it has no bar and has the feel of having a drink in someones front room). The George in nearby Norton St. Philip is said to be the oldest pub in the UK.The view behind this pub overlooks the village cricket ground and church-the urge to start singing Land of Hope and Glory will be strong. Longleat is 15 miles away from Wellow. Wells Cathedral -17 miles. Glastonbury- 22 miles. Stonehenge- 31 miles. Cheddar Gorge- 21 miles. Wellow has a small shop run by volunteers. There is an impressive Neolithic Long Barrow just outside the village(at Stony Littleton).Access inside the burial chamber is allowed. For train enthusiasts there is an Edwardian disused railway station and signal box(both are now residential).Sir Peter Blake ,the pop artist, who designed the Sgt Peppers album cover for the Beatles once owned these buildings and still owns the other Chapel in the village.
  • Martin is a host in the true manner and ensures help in every bit of your travel to make your stay in Bath a memorable experience. His passion for music is evident in every corner of his place and a treat for the eyes. If you are visiting Bath and want some British village experience, do select this one.

  • I stayed in the small single room on the opposite side of the house entrance hall from the bathroom, which is shared with the double guest room. Communal space (which I didn't use myself) is upstairs. The house is striking and in a lovely village. Perfect for a quiet stay but a good 15-20 mins from Bath (depending on route) on mostly narrow and rough (but tarmac) lanes - to be aware of when comparing. The room itself is simple but clean, with a slate floor and TV, good WiFi. The bathroom is ample and the shower works well, if noisily. There is a pub just along the road, but it did close at 4 on Sunday. Walks around the village are fantastic. Martin was a friendly and solicitous host and I can imagine the free pick-up from Bath Spa being a bonus for some.

  • If you are more into nature and want to take a few days off of the stressful life of the city, Wellow is a jewel. You can stay there for days and explore a new path through the countryside every day. Some of the buildings of the village are from 1300, There's a 5000 years barrow, and there is a lot of history to see in your own eyes. Martin was amazing! He made sure that I have everything I need: picking me up to the station, helping me get to and back from Bath, making sure that my belly is full, and some nice and colourful conversations. He also gave me a lot of privacy. Next time I'm in England I know where to go to...

  • A quirky and lovely place in a stunning, quintessentially English village, a short walk from a traditional pub and close to some beautiful walks and well marked cycle routes. Martin was a great host and showed me how to find a Neolithic burial chamber on my morning run - quite a surprising find! He was very tolerant of my last minute arrival plans, and was the right amount of attentive without being intrusive. I stayed in the single room which was basic but very comfortable. There is a private bathroom across the hall with a noisy but excellent shower. A perfect base for exploring the local area or for visiting Bath.

    Bridget2017-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • Martin and his house are lovely! We required quite unsociable hours to check in and out and Martin was really accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble! The house is also beautiful and located in a beautiful village. Great value for money as felt like a self contained unit within the house rather than just a rented bedroom. I would highly recommend!

  • Chris's house is fantastic! Very clean and well equiped and it was lovely to arrive and find the fridge stocked with treats! The location is great for walks and for admiring the English countryside but only a 20-minute bus ride from the centre of Bath (the bus stop is a minute's walk from the house). The house is spacious and the little terrace great for sitting outside in warm weather. We were staying with a young child and a baby and Chris was extremely helpful with providing any extras we needed from beginning to end. Highly recommended and we'd definitely stay again!

  • Chris was a delightful and helpful host, and the place couldn't have been lovlier. It was a highlight of that portion of our trip for sure. We were very happy to be Chris' first guests and predict he'll be flooded with inquiries as the reviews continue to roll in. He provided a welcome package of food and drinks which was very helpful considering the late hour we arrived. And Chris was understanding and flexible as our plans changed throughout the day of our arrival. The accommodation is private but Chris is accessible, and the setting is incredible. I want to bring my husband here if it's still listed in future, and my parents want to return, too. Just fantastic.

  • This was a family weekend stay to celebrate our ruby wedding anniversary. The accommodation was perfect for the 6 of us, great location and very comfortable. Robin responded quickly to our questions and was extremely helpful. The pub in the village was lovely for our celebratory meal. The hourly train to Bath was really convenient. There are lovely walks close by.

  • What an incredible property! Our expectations were most definitely exceeded. The facilities were fab, including table tennis and board games around the fire :) The bedrooms were beautiful and the beds/linen were so comfortable. A special mention to Harvey for being so flexible to our needs and the super communication we received. We'll definitely be back in the future.

We were a large group but communication was always very quick and Harvey made the entire process so easy. All of us would highly recommend a stay here for large get togethers, it’s truly a magical spot!

  • We hired this house for a Hen party of 17 and had a fantastic time. The house is beautiful, the photos don't do it justice (and they are nice!) it is spacious, well laid out and fully equipped, all the guests loved it and we really didn't want to leave. Paul was a great host, excellent communication and very attentive. Would definitely return! Thanks so much

Wake up to the sound of birdsong in an English country garden. Swish back the curtain and enjoy your breakfast on the veranda as you soak up the view across the meadow to the river in the Limply Stoke valley.
Enjoy the peaceful and private surroundings of your own log cabin in an English country garden. Your hosts will bring you a breakfast of delicious, locally sourced food. We are in the heart of the West Country with it's abundance of historic, cultural and open air pursuits to enhance your stay with us. The city of Bath is four miles away.
We are in an area of outstanding natural beauty with direct access to the Kennet and Avon canal and the River Avon. There is also a network of footpaths throughout the valley.
  • Great place and extremely hospitable host. The breakfast is the best!

  • Me and my girlfriend's first AirBnB experience - and safe to say it was everything we wanted and desired. Judy and the rest of her family made us feel extremely welcome. The cabin is extremely well equipped, with a comfortable bed and everything you could possibly need, including Costa Coffee and Waitrose tea! and a large bath! Reliable Wifi, a choice of books to read and great views across the River Avon to the village of Limpley Stoke. We were given a beautiful cooked breakfast with fresh coffee, fruit and juice along with smiles from all of the family. The cabin is a 10-15 min drive away from Bath's city centre. There is parking space if you have a car and also a bus stop down the road with services into Bath and Salisbury. I have already recommended Judy's cabin to friends and colleagues without hesitation.

  • Despite the freezing temperatures outside - the reception we got from Judy and the cabin itself were both very warm. We thoroughly enjoyed our very short stay and wished we could have stayed longer. The room was cosy and private, the bathroom far exceeded expectation (especially all the lovely bath products) and the breakfast was outstanding. Can't wait to return!

  • Beautiful little cabin in a beathtaking setting, photos don't do it justice! Judy was an amazing hostess, so friendly and welcoming. Will definitely come back here if we are staying in the area

  • Judy was a wonderful host who went above and beyond to make our very first trip to Bath a really special occassion- many thanks Judy! The cabin was absolutely lovely, beautifully furnished with great facilities, perfect for our stay. The local area was gorgeous and in a perfect location for a stroll by the canal with varieties of good country pubs. Limpley stoke is ever so close to Bath so was very easily accessible and as a village had lots of character of its own so most of the trip we explored the local area instead! Judy made us an absolutely scumptious breakfast with all local produce which was the yummiest breakfast that i've ever had in any hotel or B&B. I would highly recommend and will definetly book again for a great country escape!

    Verity2015-11-23T00:00:00Z
  • It has been an amazing stay at the cabin. We were looking for a place which is far away from the city centre and we found it. It is a super cozy, clean and cute cabin, with a spacious bathroom. Judy took care of every small detail, even at our arrival, she welcomed us with a glass of wine, cookies and fruits. Breakfast was also really good, cooked by herself in the morning. We couldn't expect it to be better.
