This comfortable double room has beautiful views out over Miserden. It is the ideal base from which to explore the Cotswolds or visit Cheltenham and its Festivals. Great pub in the village serving good food, reopening mid-July after a fire.
Miserden is a tiny, quiet and secluded village with its own pub (reopening mid-July after a fire), shop, church, village hall and school. Full of local character and set in the heart of some of the most gorgeous countryside in the Cotswolds, perfect for walking or taking in the views. We are ideally situated as a base for exploring further afield - Cheltenham, Gloucester, Cirencester and Stroud are only 20 minutes away while Bath, Oxford and the North Cotswold villages are all within an hour's drive.
  • Très bon accueil. Lits confortables. Dans un joli petit village. Le calme de la campagne.

  • An extraordinary house dating back to the 1600s. Location is a 10 plus. Backyard looks over huge fields filled with sheep....stables next door...thousand year ago old church on the other side (house was the rectory) with private en ranch the graveyard. Pub in easy to asking distance. Sitting room has cozy fireplace...bedroom overlooks meadows of sheep...loved it. Billy had suggestions for walks, pubs, fetes, market days and more. We drove all. Over the Cotswolds, and More sermon is our favorite village. Thanks, Billy. We'll be back .

  • Our extended family, including teenage kids, had a lovely time here. The house is a classic Cotswold cottage in a very picturesque setting. It has lots of character and great views over the valley. Our host, Billy, was very accommodating and we enjoyed our bit of genuine 'ye olde' English village life, if only for a day.

    Allan2017-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful family home, in a stunning location. The bedrooms & bathroom were spacious & clean. Breakfast was continental, with fresh eggs from their own hens. The village is very quiet but unfortunately the local pub was not open (due to refurbishment). However after a 5 minute drive to a nearby village, we did find an excellent pub (Fostons Ash), with great food. We would definitely stay here again!

  • Billy and Hamish were great hosts, going out of their way to ensure we had a good stay, recommending great walks and restaurants in the area. Breakfasts were much appreciated. Would fully recommend!

  • My journey to the Cotswolds was delayed by traffic on the M5. Luckily Billy and I had been keeping in touch and she knew I would be late. Upon arrival I immediately felt at home. A fab nights sleep and the most beautiful view to wake up to.

    Kay2015-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • We were made to feel very welcome by Billy and Hamish, who kindly showed us where to go for a pleasant walk. Our bed was comfy and the view from the bedroom window gorgeous. In the morning we had delicious home-baked bread and excellent coffee - a brilliant homestay!

    Susan2015-06-07T00:00:00Z
  • Unfortunately we were very disappointed with our visit. There was no pressure or hot water in the bathroom. I would have asked for some assistance in this, however there was no one present in the house. Consequently we were left with no breakfast. There was little to no customer service. From the moment we arrived we felt very unwelcome. It was a disappointing stay and we felt we had not received value for money.

  • We had a great stay. Jen was very accommodating and made us feel very welcome. The summerhouse is light, airy, spacious and very tastefully decorated. The views were lovely and it was so quiet and peaceful in a nice village atmosphere. Would highly recommend for anyone staying in the area.

  • The summer house is luxurious and gorgeous, so very spacious and very well equipped. The shower is awesome! Very powerful and invigorating. Loved it! The surrounding views... Just WOW! Our hosts Jen and Stuart were very lovely and accommodating people. We'd like to revisit the summerhouse again in the future and couldn't recommend this accommodation enough. Thank you :)

  • The Sunmerhouse is a lovely place to stay. The pictures don't do the place justice. It's in a great area and we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday, babe and all! Thanks Jen!

    Nicola2017-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect in every way! Spacious and light living space, very well equipped kitchen, comfortable bed and spotlessly clean everywhere. The garden is a delight, and I would imagine a wonderful place to sit in the summer, but then you'd miss out on the log burning stove! A real year round retreat. Jen is the perfect host- responding to queries very quickly, but at the same time respecting guests privacy. Loved it and will be returning soon.

    Frances2017-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely wonderful place in a quiet neighborhood with a public park and garden nearby. Jen is a lovely host and very hospitable. Would definitely stay here again.

  • Absolutely delightful! Our only regret is that we couldn't have stayed longer. The Summer House was tasteful and very comfortable. The garden was wonderful , both as if they were from the pages of 'Country Living 'magazine.

Well Close Cottage is a self contained, self-catering cottage set in the beautiful cotswold village of Oakridge Lynch, 6 miles from Stroud. The village has an excellent pub and local shop within walking distance.
The cottage offers a private location away from the stresses of modern life. It is situated in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and as such offers scenic walks, villages and towns all within easy distance.
Oakridge Lynch is a pretty, friendly, cotswold village. There's a pub serving excellent food and beer and a shop/post office open long hours offering all the daily necessities.
  • Thanks so much Jayne for a lovely stay in the cottage! It was well equipped, so comfortable and cosy, and we couldn't' fault it in any way! Oakridge Lynch is the perfect getaway, really quiet and pretty, particularly recommend a walk down and along the old canal. The Butcher's Arms does a great lunch. The village and cottage is very easy to find.

  • This is a cosy little cottage in a gorgeous location. The village is quiet but there is a pub and shop within walking distance which was very handy as it was dark at night (we visited in November) and driving anywhere was less appealing then. The cottage had everything we needed and the dog loved it too. Great local walks as the surrounding countryside is stunning.

    Bianca2016-11-27T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful little cottage in a beautiful and peaceful village. Very nice and friendly local people. We got lost a bit on our first day, the neighbour kindly walk us to the house. The cottage itself is very clean and homey. The kitchen is well-equipped with everything you ever need for cooking. We enjoy our dinner together very much. The living room upstair is amazingly cozy. We didn't watch any TV, instead we spent time talking to each other on the couch and had a wonderful evening. We would recommend anyone who book this place to have a car as it will be more convenient to move around the village and around nice little towns in Cotswold. Overall, we enjoy our time very much and look forward going back again. We didn't meet Jayne in person but the communication via email went smoothly. She quickly helped us answer all questions we have during our stay. Thanks so much.

  • A beautiful well-equiped cottage with heaps of character and charming hosts. Wonderful pub with great food and service just walking distance away. Also a Post Office combined with grocery and alcohol provisions. PO is well sign-posted but no signage referring to grocery shop. Suggest checking directly with hosts re the access route to the cottage. Well Close Cottage is highly recommended!

    Rex2017-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • We found that Well Close Cottage was extremely comfortable, well equipped and rather more than we expected. Our host was extremely helpful and our stay was very enjoyable. You really need a satnav as the cottage is in a little village accessed by some rather small and windy roads but well worth the effort!

  • We came together for a friends weekend away and found Sarah & Simons home to be the perfect place in the Cotswolds. They are the loveliest and most helpful hosts, made us feel very welcome and were at hand for everything we needed. Also they were kind enough to stretch check out time a little which was life saving. We look forward to coming back! Thank you so much!

  • We spent a lovely bank holiday weekend at Cotswold No 5 to celebrate a family birthday. Our hosts were friendly and welcoming- providing essential and even chocolate cake! The property is just as described and the area is lovely. The weather was good so we were able to explore the local area as recommended by Simon and Sarah. Thankyou, for a lovely stay!

    Hannah2016-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah met us on arrival and was very welcoming and showed us round. The house is lovely and big, and set in a beautiful village. The bottle of Champagne and cookies left for us were most welcome! Sarah was always happy to bring over anything extra that we needed (cafetiere) although pretty much everything that you would need is provided. We would definitely stay again, it's a lovely part of the country.

  • Gorgeous cottage in a beautiful little village. The drive alone to get there was exquisite. The cottage is beautifully designed and Andrew and sian have thought of evrything you need to have in it- full of loads of thoughtful little things and perfect for a little getaway! We loved out stay and wish we could've been there for longer!

    Meg2017-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at the old greenhouse for two nights with our two small children. It was a perfect and relaxing getaway (minus the 5am wake up call from our little one). Firstly the house and garden are gorgeous. New, spotless with all that you need for a short break plus more - even bathrobes! Andrew also gave us some recommendations for pubs, walks and the Saturday market which was brilliant. We did a few short walks around the area - plenty of options for that. All in all a great weekend! Thanks so much.

  • The Old Greenhouse offered us an idyllic venue for a busy weekend. It was a warm and welcoming space with many special touches. We would love to stay again! Andrew was a great host and met us on arrival, which was great :)

    Ella2017-11-19T00:00:00Z
  • The Greenhouse is fantastic. Has everything you need and is immaculately clean and well presented. Andrew and Sian were great hosts and everything was perfect for when we arrived.

    Alysha2017-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • The greenhouse is nice and cozy, very comfortable, with all amenities (bathroom robes!). The sky tv and movies came handy after a hike and when raining. There were some drinks (gin and tonic mixes that went perfectly with an afternoon break in the porch), milk, butter and even marshmallows. Andrew was available for questions when needed, but even though the house is in their property we had our privacy. Nice local walks (go down to the valley) and many great places within 30 minute drives, National Trust areas, and great towns. Excellent house book with instructions and suggestions.

    Manuela2017-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • What a great few days we had in the Old Greenhouse. Andrew and family were perfect hosts and they even managed to arrange 3 days of sunshine for us! A great location for exploring the Cotswolds or just relaxing on the terrace with a few beers. Thanks again Andrew . We will be back soon. Love Mark, Carla and Ru x

  • We really enjoyed our stay. The Old Greenhouse is very cosy, charming and amazingly well equipped with everything one might possibly need. Places such as Stroud, Painswick, Slad, Nailsworth are all just a short drive away. Having the privacy of a detached home was great. We enjoyed having breakfast outside on the decking and playing games or taking walks around the village in the evenings. Communication with Andrew was excellent, he answered questions very promptly, and all the instructions were very clear and helpful. Highly recommended!

  • We have just returned from a lovely, relaxing weekend in Frampton Mansell. Our cottage was beautiful, extremely cosy and was everything we were looking for! The fire and the wonderful deep bath were particular highlights. Caroline and Richard were perfect hosts! They really helped us to make the most of our time in the Cotswolds and we'd have no hesitation in recommending their charming cottage.

    Max2016-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • I used Caroline's cottage as the main location in a film I am producing and we couldn't have found a better house. Our actors' throughly enjoyed staying in the cottage, (especially the bath) and said that the surrounding fields and animals really made them feel like they could get away from the hustle-bustle of London life. Caroline was a truly gracious and accommodating host and I urge anyone wanting a weekend break to stay in this property.

  • This is a delightful cottage set within picturesque landscape. Lower Manor Cottage was the perfect spot for us while we were attending a week long gliding course at the nearby Aston Down airfield. We both enjoyed viewing the cottage, along with its beautiful countryside, as we gently circled above. Cotton sheets, feather duvet and a large library of books were much appreciated. Daphne, Lola & Albert especially charming too. A most highly recommended accommodation.

  • We had a lovely time at this rural cottage in a lovely secluded location for my husband's birthday. The cottage was really cosy and private - it was a bit chilly but the woodburner and heating sorted that out. We had a nice walk and a good dinner at the local pub. It was close to Cirencester and Tetbury for trips out. We met the hosts briefly - they were friendly, helpful and respectful of our privacy. Beautiful place which we would definitely recommend, the photos don't do it justice.

  • A truly beautiful spot and the perfect place to escape the rat race! The cottage is very private and has everything you might need and is set in the most tranquil of gardens, I found it to be quite therapeutic.
  • Vida was a fantastic host! The Old Vicarage is a beautiful building and the grounds surrounding it are equally as stunning. Highly recommended!

  • We very much enjoyed our stay, and Vida's baking was a highlight! Beautiful walks around the house. Room was very clean and comfortable.

    Rachel2017-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • On arrival Vida had tea and lemon drizzle cake ready for us after we had settled in our room. There was also tea making facilities in the room with shortbread. We stayed in the Sleigh room which was tastefully decorated , spacious and bright. The ensuite was well appointed and the heated towel rail heated very quickly. The view from the room looked out onto rolling countryside. We visited the local pub, The Butchers Arm which was a five minute walk away. Good value for money and nice atmosphere with welcoming landlord. Breakfast at the Old Vicarage was excellent with a great selection of cereals, fresh fruit, juices and cooked breakfast. Vida was very hospitable; missed meeting her mum. Got to meet Molly and Poppy who were very well behaved dogs. Would definitely recommend staying here and enjoying the tranquil atmosphere and excellent hosting by Vida. Des and Suzanne.

  • Had the loveliest stay here. Vida was so welcoming and the place was beautiful. Our room had amazing natural light, with big windows and an awesome view. Also got a lot of sheep grazing on the lawn outside. A great breakfast the next morning and flexible check out time. We will definitely be back!

    Catherine2017-04-09T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely superb. Will definitely return and recommend to family and friends. Thank you very much Vida.

  • Little cottage is a lovely place to stay when you visit the Cotswolds. The cottage is so tastefully decorated. All the little touches in the cottage made it really beautiful. Just a night was definitely not enough. We wish to return to the little cottage soon. My parents had come from srilanka and this was a life time experience for them to visit the english countryside. They had a lovely time. The lovely fire place, range cooker, the bedroom in the attic were the highlights of the cottage. Alex was a great host. Thanks for having us.

    Sowmya2017-12-18T00:00:00Z
  • What a treat! We can't thank you enough for your amazing hospitality, your stunning cosy and very comfortable cottage. A 5* weekend get away and a must if you get the chance. Thank you again.

    Sam2017-12-10T00:00:00Z
  • We spent a lovely 2 nights at Alexandra’s place over the New Year. Communication with Alexandra was fantastic and she made checking in swift and easy. A welcoming fire was waiting for us upon arrival and she had thoughtfully left little personal touches such as fresh bread and locally produced butter and honey. The cottage itself was perfect and in an idyllic location - everything we had hoped for. We would wholeheartedly recommend Alex’s place to friends and family. Thank you for your hospitality Alex!

    Marie2018-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful little cottage. Private but close enough to walk to several pubs and shops and only a shortish drive from larger towns and cities. Lovely mix of modern and authentic inside. Alexandra was tentative and quick to respond to communication. Nice little touches were log fire being on when we arrived, new DVD's and Sky Q, dishwasher, coffee machine and local bread and butter un the kitchen. Always a great sign if you want to return....which I do. Perfect AirBnB experience!

Hope Cottage is cosy, quirky and full of character (lots of exposed stone walls and original beams, plus a woodburner) but with all mod cons. It is a detached cottage sitting in its own garden in this pretty South Cotswolds village. There are wonderful views, and the cottage is a perfect place to relax and get away from it all. A true home from home with privacy and seclusion (no owners on site), pubs nearby and walks in all directions
Hope Cottage is a detached property built in 1750s in the rural hillside village of France Lynch in the South Cotswolds. Recently refurbished, it boasts all mod cons with a new kitchen and bathroom, alongside character features like oak beams, exposed stone walls and mullion windows. There is an inglenook fireplace in the sitting room, with a woodburner and logs and kindling provided. It sits in its own private, south-facing garden with wonderful views across the valley, and there is parking for one car. The cottage has one double bedroom with additional accommodation (a single bed) in a mezzanine area, plus a sofa bed (small double) on the landing, which looks out through the most fantastic picture window. The beds are made up with beautiful white cotton bedlinen and towels are provided. There is gas central heating, with a woodburner in the sitting room to keep the place toasty on chilly evenings. France Lynch is a charming village with dry stone walls and narrow winding lanes, and a great pub, the Kings Head, just two minutes walk away at the end of the lane. There are some beautiful walks direct from the door (many ending at or passing by other local pubs in the area). Within a short drive are local attractions such as the Farmers Market at Stroud, the Rococo Gardens at Painswick, Prinknash Abbey, Westonbirt Arboretum, the antique shops of Tetbury and Laurie Lee's picturesque Slad Valley, the inspiration behind 'Cider with Rosie'. Within 45 minutes drive are larger centres of Bristol, Bath and Cheltenham, and the cottage is also conveniently situated for events such as Gatcombe Horse Trials, Badminton, Kemble and Fairford Air Shows and Cheltenham's Races, Literary and Music Festivals.
France Lynch is a charming little village, full of stone cottages and winding lanes, and the pub at the end of the road is just two minutes walk away - in the summer there's a garden to sit out in, and during the winter there is usually a roaring log fire inside. There are some great walks in this area and we've left plenty of information in a booklet in the cottage - some maps of the immediate local area, plus smaller scale ones that include footpaths. We have also left some laminated sheets with specific walks that guests can follow. Stroud is a quirky, fun little town with a great Farmers Market on Saturdays and Cirencester is slightly larger with a bigger range of shops and some nice restaurants and bars. Both are within an easy drive.
  • Lovely cosy cottage, my trip was everything I wanted it to be. Lots of reading by the fire, lots of sleep and plenty of tea sitting by the picture window looking at a lovely view. Loved everything about the cottage and Sarah was a great host.

  • What a beautiful place to stay. The cottage is beautiful and the locals are great too. A 1.5 min walk to the pub which was lovely. X

    Catherine2017-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah's cottage is a perfect place to experience the special charms of this wonderful part of the country. Take note of the road directions as the lanes are steep and narrow!

    Tim2017-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful cottage in a perfectly idyllic location. Everything was immaculate when. We arrived and the extensive information in the visitors book Sarah has created provided everything we needed to plan the perfect few days away, from walk routes to pub recommendations.

    Rob 2016-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Hope Cottage makes for a very peaceful and cosy base to explore the local area. We particularly enjoyed going to the Butchers Arms and The Crown for some lovely meals. Stroud market is also a fantastic place to visit. The information Sarah provided before we arrived was very helpful; if your arriving in the dark I would recommend following Sarahs instructions and not the sat nav!!

    Carrie2017-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful experience we had at Hope Cottage. The wonderful personal touch of tea and biscuits waiting for us was perfect.

A stylish Cotswold cottage. Fully equipped. The lovely master bedroom has French doors overlooking Cotswold countryside and enjoys the morning sun. The bedroom opens onto a spacious luxury en-suite bathroom with large shower and separate bath. There are two further bedrooms, one of which has an en suite shower room. Downstairs is open plan with a fully equipped, hand-built kitchen with granite top, limestone flooring, dining and living space. Lovely gardens. Parking. Wifi. Full central heating.
The Cottage is attached to our large Cotswold house. It is completely separate. The whole garden is open so the cottage garden is not completely private. There is parking for two cars. The main bedroom faces east and gets the morning sun whilst the house faces south. There is a large circular patio to the front with an outside table and chairs. Downstairs the kitchen, living and dining area are a shared space. There is wifi, a large TV and access to Netflix. The Cottage is fully equipped with cooking equipment, utensils and crockery/cutlery in a beautiful hand made kitchen and granite worktop. There is also a built in dishwasher, fridge and washer dryer. And an espresso machine. The circular table can be extended with a centre leaf and there are two extra chairs. There is an iron, ironing board and cordless vacuum cleaner. If you feel you can't kick the habit. There are 3 bedrooms, 2 of which have ensuite bathrooms. Two upstairs and one downstairs. The ensuite bathroom to the main bedroom is large, with a freestanding bath and large rain shower. This bathroom is shared with the single bedroom; there are two doors both of which can be locked. Downstairs there is another bedroom with an ensuite shower room.
Chalford Hill is on the south Cotswold top. As the name suggests we are at the southern edge of the Cotswold Hills and slightly off the beaten track; the Stroud valleys are the undiscovered gem of Gloucestershire and the Cotswolds. This is an area with deep valleys, steep hills, lush countryside, beautiful villages and many outstanding pubs! There is a park opposite the cottage with play areas and adult exercise machines. There are great walks and cycle rides from our front gate and don't forget to have afternoon tea at the Lavender BakeHouse!! There's a Vue Cinema in Stroud with regular NT Live performances. Convenience stores close by (5 minutes by car): Tesco express Chemist/pharmacy Chinese takeaway Fish and chips Petrol station Playground/park (right opposite entrance to the house) Last, but not least, there's a Waitrose in Cirencester (15 minutes) and one in Stroud (10 minutes). So all is well.
  • My friends and I had such a lovely and relaxing weekend at Carrie's beautiful little cottage. It was perfect for what we needed, and Carrie and Nigel popped to check everything was OK (which is was perfect!). Carrie left us a great little walk around the area which we did. Great showers, great beds, the top bedroom is very picturesque, waking up in the morning with a view right over the field across the road. Overall 10 out of 10, I'll definitely be back, thanks Carrie and Nigel!

    Amelia2017-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful weekend at Carrie's and Nigel's cottage. Their house was very charming with a very picturesque view from the bedrooms. Although we didn't meet them upon arrival they left a fresh loaf of bread to welcome us to their place. They also provided some very detailed hiking trails around the area, and more importantly a very useful guide to the pubs as well! I would highly recommend staying at their cottage and hope to visit soon again.

    Elisabeth2017-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage in a very good location with a good view and it's clean with good facilities, and host couple are very friendly , we will come back again.

    Qiang2017-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • We loved this cottage and the little extras provided by Carrie were much appreciated. It is very comfortable with lots of space for four people, and two bathrooms was very useful. If you have a car, other towns and attractions are only a short drive away. The town around the cottage is nothing special, but it is nice and peaceful.

    Simon2017-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing, newly renovated little cottage! Great surroundings and good tips on where to walk and where to eat.

    Sophie2017-05-14T00:00:00Z
  • Four MA graduated booked this cottage for a weekend reunion and couldn't be more pleased with our stay! The cottage itself is beautiful and cosy and was perfect for all of our needs for a relaxing and memorable stay. The surrounding area was perfect for great bites and stunning walks. I would definitely recommend this location!!

  • My friends and I had the most amazing few days staying at Ann and her husbands beautiful cottage! It is high up on a hill with incredible views and lots of opportunities for walks! It was so cosy and welcoming and Ann has thought of everything! A fully equipped kitchen and great fire place too. Thank you Ann for a wonderful few days - we will definitely be back!!

    Martha2017-11-07T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful cottage in a lovely setting overlooking rolling hills. The furnishings were beautiful and there was everything you could possibly need and more. Ann was very friendly and helpful and we really hope to go back sometime! There is a pub about 100 yards down the road that does food and another not too much further on. All in all I would thoroughly recommend Oxford Cottage!

    Pat2017-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • Ann's place is worth visiting itself in addition to Cotswold. She was kind and very helpful, and the place was impeccable (clean, convenient, a good location, quiet, and comfortable); we didn't want to leave. :) I recommend this place 100%; you will not regret it.

    Lewis2017-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • Ann and Pete were excellent hosts, very friendly and explained where to find everything and how it all worked. A nice touch was some items for breakfast were provided saving us finding a shop to buy milk and a bottle of prosecco (this was our honeymoon!) The cottage was lovely and the kitchen well equipped although there is a nice pub a few minutes walk if you don't fancy cooking.

    David2017-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage felt spacious enough for 4 adults, whilst retaining a cosy and comfortable atmosphere...kitchen area a dream and the beds comfy and the cottage is situated in a beautifully quiet and peaceful spot. Ann is a very friendly and attentive host and the area is delightful - we had stunning weather so enjoyed several walks locally - there are lots of great and individual pubs too - enjoy your stay!

    Kathy2017-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place! Couldn't have been happier with our stay. Hope to return!

    Aaron2017-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage is a dreamy property fully of character and history. It's been done up to have all the modern conveniences that one may want. A small yet cozy reception room, nice kitchen with everything that one can need, two nice sized bedrooms (the master is larger than the other bedroom) and one lavish bathroom. Lovely views and a nice patio + garden for breakfast under the blue sky ! Ann was a lovely host and made our check in very comfortable and allowed us a free extra hours at check out. Which was a boon give we had two little ones in our group. The entire cottage is tastefully decorated. Anyone booking this will have a great time. Make sure you confirm all booking details though to avoid any last minute glitches. Ann also accommodated our request for a high chair and cot bed for the babies which we felt was very generous. An amazing holiday thanks to a comfortable and beautiful accommodation.

The studio was perfect, and had everything we needed, was very tidy and clean. The surroundings were beautiful! Carrie's notes and guide to the Cotswold's was very helpful and really appreciated. I would definitely recommend staying here.

  • Carole’s apartment is lovely, in a wonderful old Inn, near some of the most charming countryside I’ve seen. Comfortable bed, nice windows, terrific bathtub!, and generous tea, milk, etc. The kitchen would be fabulous for one staying an extended time as well. We were not bothered by the pub sounds from below, and they stopped at a reasonable time anyway. It was a bit chilly for us. Coming from a colder climate, maybe we’re used to more inside heat, strange to say. Carole very kindly came over the first night to help us get in due to my stupid mistake with the lock. Many thanks Carole!

  • Stayed here a few times now and that's telling. Very clean and in a lovely location and Carole is the perfect host.

  • Lovely, spacious apartment that is in a beautiful scenic area and close to Stroud. Perfect for the Stroud Fringe festival. Carole was very friendly and we had a very pleasant stay.

  • We will not easily forget our stay in Chalford. It was super! The location is beautiful, the pub is gorgeous and the apartment was spacious and clean. So what more can we wish? Bob & Carla

  • Carole was lovely. Nothing was too much trouble and when there was a hiccup with the flat, she was quick to sort it out. The flat was lovely. Handy for Stroud and Cirencester. Beautiful village with a lovely cafe just down the canal (thanks for the recommendation). Would definitely stay again if I was is the area.

  • A great place to stay and it's over a pub so what could be better. Clean and well presented with a big bathroom and kitchen. Very quiet and scenic area and would be a great base to explore the Cotswolds.

    Phil2017-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • Carole was a lovely host and was more then happy to help with anything. The apartment was open and spacious and very clean, with a very comfortable bed. The bathroom was huge with a big bathtub to relax in after a long day of walks and sight seeing. The kitchen was clean and well equipped, very functional for making meals for the days outings or the evening meals in the apartment. Access to the apartment was easy, either through the pub during opening hours or a private entrance at the side of the apartment along with on site parking. The locals were very friendly and happy to give advice or suggestions about places to go or see in the area. Location was peaceful and tranquil but gave great access to the Cotswolds. Stroud was within five minute drive north west, which has a selection of shops and restaurants and a petrol station. Cirencester is a twenty minutes drive east. A great place to go to get away fromt the rush of city life.

This is a terraced house with woodland either side. The A419 road and train line meet here, and it was once the Chalford station. The trees quieten any noise, and there are owls, deer and badgers making sounds at night, as well as plenty of birds and squirrels in the garden. It is minutes away from the Stroud-Sapperton canal, with good a walking path through Chalford village, with a community owned and run grocery shop, stocking all basic foods to a high standard, partly organic.
    Singles or couples particularly welcome.

Roving rural vintage vehicular chic! Martha, the 'Roving Studio' classic Bedford J-type truck has had an adventurous life of travels, and pauses to give you peace of authentic off-roading! - The charm of her double doors and tailgate offering up a new view on the world… This year she's at one of her favourite Cotswold spots on the beautiful Westley Farm. Here you can ruminate in a hay field with glorious bird-soaring views along the golden valley, under the hosting care of Fireside Glamping.
A cosy, quiet space with such a grand view, Martha makes a good retreat for writing, drawing, composing, musing, or simply being; a launch pad to explore Westley Farm’s 75 acres, Cotswold hills and Stroud valleys beyond. Simple living of carry water, chop wood, with comfort of a few on-board or nearby mod cons. Practicalities: Martha is at the top end of a hay field that slopes down to the valley, parked nose-on to the farmyard where you can park your car. A farmyard building provides nearby toilet, washing and cooking facilities. The field is gated and has public footpath. Occasionally cows are grazing in the field. At these times, Martha's vicinity is fenced with electric fence and access is down stepped wall. Water - a kitchen unit with a small Belfast sink is fed by a foot pump, drawing water from a container under the truck. This you can refill from the nearby mains tap. Drinking water should be collected directly from the same tap. There is an electric kettle and toaster, teas and coffee, and equipment enough to prepare your breakfast/picnic. Cook on the fire outside or in the farmyard building communal kitchen. Wide wooden steps lead up to the tailgate and double entrance doors - a great place to soak up the views and the south to setting sun. Outside there is a table and chairs, circular fireplace and BBQ equipment in a bellybox under the truck. Also kept outside is a small cool box, and box for wellies or walking boots. Firewood – There is some firewood included in the booking price and if you run out we can provide well-seasoned and dry firewood for a small charge. We manage the woodlands carefully for the wildlife and don’t allow guests to cut their own from the forest. We can provide unsplit wood and a small axe if you like splitting your own logs and kindling. Electric hook-up allows for charging low-wattage devices, and powers lights and an infra-red heater for instant heating. Wifi is available in the farmyard building.
Rolling hills, woodland valley walks stretch out around the farm, with a few cosy pubs to quench your thirst short hikes away. Badgers, butterflies, sheep, chickens, cows, owls, donkeys and dormice are all in residence. A short walk up the lane from Westley Farm is a layby ‘Glider Café’ if you fancy a full English breakfast, and about half a mile further is farm shop, airstream and yurt café ‘Jolly Nice’. The Crown Inn at Frampton Mansell is the local pub with great food and outlook (1 mile cross-country)
  • Cute, wonderful, romantic van overlooking the rolling cotswold hills, a really peaceful getaway.

Cooking – Each Sheek Shack has a small outside Kitchen fitted with a 2 ring gas cooker, pots, pans, and all the necessary hardware to self cater. There is a camp fire and some basic campfire cooking equipment too for more authentic flavours and fireside cooking and Barbeques. Firewood – There is some firewood included in the booking price and if you run out we can provide well seasoned and dry firewood for a small charge if you use more than what we provide. We manage the woodlands carefully for the wildlife and don’t allow guests to cut their own from the forest. We can provide unsplit wood and a small axe if you like splitting your own logs and kindling. We can provide 2 camping mattresses and 2 pillows for 2 kids to stay with you too but we do not provide children's bedding.
  • A perfect spot for a quiet weekend retreat.

    Jennifer2017-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • We had the perfect 4 days staying here, the shack had absolutely everything we needed and more with the most beautiful surroundings. Piers created the shacks himself and there's nothing he hasn't thought of, from the secluded location, the shack design and outdoor sheltered area, the cosy fairy lights inside, hot chocolate and log burners for a cosy evening, it's all perfect. Everything was exactly what we wanted. Great for a short walk into close by villages and pubs (highly recommend The Crown at Frampton Mansell - a 20 minute walk across the fields away).

    Mark2017-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • The review process has asked me to pick one thing that stood out e.g. stylishness, amenities etc. None of the things listed would be a priority for me, and in fact might deter me from booking, which is why the Woodruff 'Sheek Shack' was perfect for our stay. What I experienced was my idea of just right- meaning that we were met by Piers who gave us an axe should we need more wood for the burner, showed us where things were (including an impressive compost loo), pointed out recycling and gave us leave to be free range in the farm's woods, before leaving us to enjoy the beautiful and tranquil surroundings. Just enough of what we needed was provided, and a really special space as home for 2 days. I would happily live there for most of the year. Thank you Piers, I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a temporary escape from the system.

  • A special and secluded retreat surrounded by nature. It has all the amenities you could need so definitely a good first experience of glamping. Rustic but comfortable.

    EIleen2017-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • We came here looking for a peaceful, countryside break surrounded with greenery and trees, thinking the shack looked ideal. We didn't expect to find the incredible beauty that we did on Westley Farm. The Shack was as described, simple, yet has everything you need, and with lots of little touches that make it very welcoming. The area is perfect for walking and exploring. We found a great little pub in a nearby village with brilliant views over the valley to sit in the sun with a pint of local cider. Piers was a fantastic host, offering us everything we could possibly need. If you are looking for a place to visit to connect with nature and engage in genuine conversation, in your own little corner of green heaven, then this is the place to be!

    Tim2017-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • After a very warm welcome from our very helpful host Piers, we settled in to our yurt, which was exactly as depicted. Great, clean, cozy space with everything you need and more.Had some lovely hikes around the area with stunning views and sunsets, then to the Crown Inn a short walk near by for a nightcap. I would highly recommend this property if youre looking to get away from it all and need a good dose of nature. Thanks Piers!

  • Spent 2 nights here, which it was lovely and just what we was looking for! If you want pure relaxation then book! The shack is very clean and has everything you need! Very cosy at night with the log burner and hot chocolate. Well done piers you've done a really good job with the shack and we will return. This trip was booked for my partner who loves being outdoors so he was in his element.

I imagine it would be as stunning in Spring and Summer with the gorgeous countryside walks. I was travelling alone and Melanie was so (URL HIDDEN) was 'home' for the night. Breakfast was delicious and a perfect start to the day.

  • Great modern space with rustic feel and lovely warm wood burner. Enjoyed a long weekend exploring the Cotswolds.

  • This is Melanie's home and you feel it from the moment you arrive. It is not some identikit bland house but clearly the result of Melanie's incredible design style and her love of this place. It is stylish, perfectly placed for amazing views across the field and it has all the amenities you could ever want. Topping all of this is Melanie who is simply a lovely thoughtful woman who only cares that you enjoy your stay and the wonderful home she has created. Far Oakridge is also just a lovely place and we ( I came with my two sons 14 and 12) just really enjoyed the area. The walking is amazing, the cycling really tough ( gosh it's hilly) and it is so peaceful and quiet. If you are fortunate enough to be able to book Melanie's home please do so - you really won't regret it.

  • Wow. Amazing house. Really one of the best we have stayed in through Airbnb. Beautifully designed and in a stunning location. Melanie was really helpful throughout. Would absolutely recommend.

    oliver2017-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Well what can we say about Melanie's place it is simply beautiful in every way. This is Melanie's home that she generously allows the AirBnB community access whilst she leaves - so and that is a total privilege. The location is idyllic Cotswolds centric and at the heart of country walks. Great pubs and places to visit nearby even better if you walk to them to earn the rest. The house (I should say home!) is spacious, beautifully decorated and every single feature is of the highest specification. If it were my home I am not sure I would be so generous in letting it out! Melanie is a beautiful lady. Kind, helpful and offered the best welcome yet. We had bread, eggs, milk and carrot cake, fresh coffee and biscuts. The bedding and towels were of the higest quality. The beds were out of this world we have never slept so well. We would love to visit again and hope very much that Melanie will have us. Cannot recommend this place enough but please Airbnb community only go if you wish to uphold Melanie's amazing standards of home luxury, cleanliness and integrity we would hate to see her amazing generosity and truly beautiful home abused !

  • Melanie was a great host, she welcomed us on arrival and gave us a full tour of her home. She even left us a carrot cake! Melanie also kindly booked us a table at a nearby restaurant called the Butchers Arms which i would highly recommend. The house is stunning and has amazing views at the back which we found perfect for a bbq. I would certainly recommend this property for a weekend away!

  • The location is amazing and very quiet. We enjoyed walks along the river and up to the pond. There is a lovely green and golf course about 5 minute drive away which we only discovered on our last day here and this looked like a lovely place to go for a walk. The accommodation itself is very luxurious, except there is no microwave for those people who are used to having one. We spent 2 days in Burton on Water which is lovely but can get VERY crowed. I recommend the Birdpark but look around for parking as we noticed £3 for the day parking after paying over £5 at the carpark near the Birdpark.

Beautiful Artistic space with its own balcony and entrance. This unsual space is very quiet and would suit writers, painters and walkers. It has a huge window that fully opens, giving the feeling of being outside when inside! The balcony has a table and chairs for sitting and having breakfast or an evening drink. It is a studio room with a sofa bed and separate shower room. Tea and toast making facilities. There is NO kitchen Very good WIFI. There are 2 yoga mats available as this a lovely space for yoga.
The Wooden House is in a prettty Cotswald hilltop village with an amazing view of Lypiatt Manor, a grade 1 listed building. Eastcombe has its own shop/post office and pub. The shop opens at 6am-7.30pm and sells fresh pastries and bread and almost anything else you might need. The Lamb Inn is 2 mins walk and serves lunch and dinner. Please note that it is wise to book at weekends for lunch or dinners (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN). The lavender Bakehouse at the bottom of the hill in Chalford is highly recommended for breakfast. A couple of miles away on the A419 east bound is Jolly Nice which sells cooked food, has a butchers, and all other organic produce and delicious ice cream and is open til 7.30pm. • This is such a special place. It felt like I was living in the tree tops with the balcony over looking the valley. A real sanctury. You could quite easily park up and not have to use your car again until you leave with footpaths at your doorstep, a well stocked shop and great pub just a minutes walk down the road. Facilities for making tea and toast, fridge for milk and wine. Hot, powerful shower, good dressing table area, good wi-fi (much needed as we couldn't get a tv signal - take your laptop and a hmdi cable so you can watch tv online through the tv), good heaters - all the important things for me!

  • Well what an amazing long weekend we as in the Wooden house. We had a wonderful welcome from Tony who introduced us & showed us the ropes of this amazing space. Sophie has clearly put a lot of thought into this place & although simple it's decorated to such a unique style. The space is extremely comfortable and quiet. It's very private and the views are stunning. There are an abundance of lovely walks in the surrounding area literally from the doorstep. we stayed in the wooden house for our first wedding annivsary weekend away & couldn't have picked a more perfect place. Sophie has done such a great summary of the area & why it has to offer in the info page. Thank you Sophie & Tony - we will be back to enjoy your wonderful space and the wonderful views we have enjoyed this weekend.

  • We had the best weekend here! It had everything we needed and was a really nice, cosy and simplistic space. We stayed in Eastcombe to be close to the Slad valley and did the Laurie Lee wildlife way which was great. Sophie gave us lots of great tips too - Stroud farmers market and the bear inn in Bisley for a Sunday roast. Can't reccomend this place enough!

  • A lovely open plan space with sliding doors that open onto a balcony with a beautiful view. The style was great with nice pieces of furniture and art work - comfy bed! Tea, coffee and fresh milk were left for us as well as a couple of Tunnocks caramel bars - which is a win in my books! We stayed here over Christmas which was nice and cosy but would like to stay again in the summer and make use of the balcony! - thanks for having us

  • The view was fantastic, we wanted a quiet New Years and this was perfect. Didn’t get the opportunity to go to the Lambs Inn, but we did walk to Bisley (highly recommend you take wellies, we did not and got stuck in the mud. Hysterical but not fun after 20 minutes of walking in wet shoes). The room was clean, ideal for a weekend in the countryside, and Tony is massively helpful. Will not disturb you, but is always there if you need anything.

  • Wow. What a beautiful space. The view is amazing Lots of nice touches. Wifi works well. Kettle, toaster and fridge. Nice parking spot. Check in easy, Tony was nice and helpful. We didn't see him again but he said we could pop round if we had any problems. Very quiet area but lots to see near by. We ate at The Lamb Inn which is a short walk away and The Butchers Arms in Oakridge Lynch. Both were excellent but you need to book. Great value. Definitely recommend.

Our cottage is close to lovely walks, village shop, cafe and pub, family-friendly activities, and public transport. Close to the A419 so easy to explore around, and with fabulous south facing views of woodland and fields, in the heart of the Cotswolds, outdoor space with chiminea, nice mix of modern with classic stone cottage, it's ideal for couples, small groups of friends, solo adventurers, and families. In the grounds there is a beautiful wooden office space, and a cabin with woodburner.
The cottage is located up a short footpath which is typical of the steep hillsides of Chalford, and backs onto woodland, with views across the valley of more woodlands and fields. We've done quite a bit of modernising since we moved in 12 years ago, but have kept the original feel to the place, so it's a nice mix of up to date and old-fashioned. There's no TV, but there is fast internet, so just bring a laptop or tablet if you want to watch something. A good quality sound system you're free to use. Unlimited hot water, and gas central heating. Gas hob and fan oven. Well equipped kitchen.
We're in what's called the Golden Valley, on the western edge of the village of Chalford, which is charming and quirky, with a lot of interesting people living and working there. It has it's own well-stocked community shop open 7 days a week, a pub, a great cafe (Lavendar Bakehouse). Within 5 minutes by car there are several great pubs for food - start with the 17thC Crown Inn at Frampton Mansell. Lovely walks abound: just over the road, the canal (which used to connect the Thames and Severn, so was crucial for trade in earlier times), has a towpath that takes you all the way to Stroud (nice to cycle), or going the other way goes into wildly beautiful hidden valleys and woodlands. Within a short car ride you've got all kinds of amazing Cotswold gems to discover. There are wonderful country walks on the doorstep, and the historic and cultural towns of Cirencester, Cheltenham, Bath, Stratford and Oxford are all great day trips.
  • Really wonderful cottage, decor is lovely, amazing views - very comfortable! Everything you'd want to see is a few mins drive away and the neighbours are very sweet too. Communication was Adam was quick and easy - overall a fantastic experience!

  • Great cottage in the Cotswolds. Perfect for families and groups of friends to get away. The house shares a common entry with the neighbors so if 100 percent privacy is your thing take this into consideration. When we were there the neighbors had builders doing work so there was a fair amount of noise and people walking past the house (you can see right in). Checkin went very smoothly and the directions to find the house were clear and concise. Adam's communication was excellent and he was always quick to respond.

  • A wonderfully charming little cottage that looks and feels like no other place I've stayed. The hosts were perfectly hospitable, even leaving a bowl of strawberries for our arrival. It was clean, tidy and well equipped. We enjoyed cooking in each evening and found no trouble in doing so. The bathroom was ideal, and offered a great view as you prepared for the day in the morning. The house itself is in a wonderful location, with fantastic view across the valley. Being central to the Cotswold's district also allows you to venture to plenty of the top sites within an hour, whether located North or South. My friends and I would certainly recommend this cottage for those who are looking to stay in the area.

  • Delightful cottage set in the hills with a beautiful view. Neighbours are friendly. Adam the host is more than helpful

  • Pitoresque and cosy cottage. Amazing ambience in a spot on location. Minutes away from Stroud where you can find the famous farmers market (perfect for Saturday breakfast!) and walking paths across hills and villages. Breathtaking views from the windows. It's a perfect place to get away from busy lives and city and enjoy the nature. The host is very responsive and provided everything that was needed for the stay to be comfortable. It's perfect for a romantic gateaway, friends get together or family time. We would love to come back one day for longer!

  • A well decorated charming cottage. Photos do not do it justice at all. We enjoyed the outdoor seating area. The neighbours are wonderful. The views from the outdoor are even better. We were a family of 5 including a two teenagers and it was loved by all! Very swift communication with Adam. 5/5 experience and we hope to be back. This place is a gem. We were able to enjoy the surrounding countryside including the Laurie Lee walks along the Slad Valley, Selsey Common and a trip to Bath aswell as the infamous Stroud Farmers market. Great location for the South Cotswolds

  • Adam was very helpful throughout. Lovely home for a weekend break, with easy access to nearby villages and good walking routes.

  • Our experience at Adams house was so fantastic and we cannot rate it highly enough. After arriving we were shown where keys were and accessed house. All pictures were justified and even more beautiful in reality. Clean facilities and what topped it off were the kind neighbours who usually aren't part of the package but made a great addition. So refreshing to greet neighbours as this is not the norm in London. We were shown where nearest convenience store was which we turned into a hike. We were offered a lift coming back down the hill which again shows how neighbourly and rich their environment is. The night before we left we built a fire which is a great addition to the property and had a cosy outside dinner. Our hosts were great and readily reachable when we had questions. If you want to stay in the country this is the place to stay and you will love it. My whole family loved it and we didn't want to come back to the city. :-) thank you.

  • A nice little cottage for the weekend, with great walks and local amenities nearby. Rob's place had most things we needed, would have been nice to have some washing up liquid/dishwasher tablets provided but otherwise it was all great.

  • Rob's cottage is a great base for exploring the Cotswolds - lots of lovely walks and pubs right on your doorstep! The cottage is lovely and cosy, we really enjoyed staying here. We'd really love to come again.

  • My husband and I and 2 children - 4 months and 3 years old stayed at Rob's cottage. We had great time and found the cottage conveniently located - 5 min walk to the pub and playground and 3 min drive to little tesco. The cottage was very clean and had everything we needed. The bedrooms were big with plenty space for a baby cot. We enjoyed our stay greatly and highly recommend. Rob and his wife are wonderful hosts. Thank you so much!

  • Lovely old cottage with great history. Wonderful kitchen which was large and had all we needed. Bedrooms and bath nice and had lovely views out the windows. The garden was great, but lots of steps up to the various levels. Driveway tight for a larger car. We parked on the lane outside the cottage which worked well. Very nice TV where we watched a lot of tennis. Very cosy cottage with good vibe. Great location for visiting lots of places in the Cotswolds and as far away as Bath.

    Nancy2017-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • This is an absolutely amazing cottage to stay in, not to mention Rob and his wife were absoluly pleasent and are blessed to have met them and hope to keep in touch. They kept a binder at the front door that helped answer all the questions we had of the area, places to get firewood for the two fireplaces, grocery shopping and for an American how to use the hob (stove) and oven. The beds are so incredibly comfortable!! The shower/tub is A-Mazing!! My family and I had the best time not only staying here, but also meeting with the locals. Head to the Ram Inn which is a 5 minute walk up the road to meet some wonderful people who will tell you the best places to go and what to do to make your trip to the Cotswolds even better. I can't tell you how much fun and relaxing our trip was to this area and stay in the cottage. Loved every minute!! Rob is so quick to get back to answer any questions you have. The essentials of a house are all there i.e. Hair blow dryer, iron, hot water maker, and French press for your coffee.

    Kimberley2016-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful, cosy cottage in a lovely village. Great, dog friendly pub with excellent beer and food. Rob was away when we arrived but visited us on his return, bringing us a lovely bottle of his craft Italian wine. The decor and furnishings in the cottage are of a high quality and the well kept sunny garden is stunning. We thorughly enjoyed our stay here. Hoping to return one day.

The Cotswolds Bothy is a 17th century Cotswolds stone building in our lovely garden in Gloucestershire. Inside it's warm and cosy with a double bed, clothes storage, mini fridge and wifi. A brand new bathroom is opposite. This part of the Cotswolds is very cultured, alternative and eco-friendly. In our nearest town, Stroud, you can join the arty set - it's like Notting Hill was back in the 1960s. Beautiful, accessible countryside with a bohemian atmosphere.
This is a unique tranquil little Cotswold stone building. Inside it's a cosy bedroom where you can relax and enjoy peace and quiet and yet easily access some of the most interesting cultural and arty life outside London. Our village is a hamlet - very quiet and rural with just 20 or so houses. The fantastic local pub and local shop offering organic food is a 20 minute walk down quiet country lanes. The nearest town is Stroud which is a 15 minute drive away. Stroud is all about arts and crafts, eco-friendly and community. On Saturday mornings there's a great farmers market, which was launched by Jasper Conran and Isabella Blow. There are loads of quirky cafes and cool arts venues in Stroud, with something going on almost every day. Opposite the bothy is a Cotswold stone outhouse into which we've installed a brand new bathroom. It's a lovely heated wet room with rain shower and hand held shower.
The Cotswolds Bothy is situated in a quintessentially English rural hamlet, with sweeping countryside views over the Stroud valley. Some of the biggest names in modern British art call this area home — and they're often found poking anonymously around the Saturday farmer's market in Stroud alongside other famous faces. The Gloucestershire market town of Stroud has quietly become a hub for a heady mix of fashionistas, musicians and designers of all descriptions. Stroud is a 15 minute drive (4 miles) away. The village of Bisley is next door to ours (10 minutes drive / 2 miles). Bisley is worth a visit as it's a gorgeous Cotswolds stone village with two pubs, a shop and cafe, and the shop offers a laundry service.

Explore the Cotswolds from this beautifully renovated home, formerly three farm workers' cottages. Middle Lypiatt is in the heart of 'Cider with Rosie' country and part of England’s largest Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The bedroom and en-suite bathroom are large with views across the fields. Guests have their own drawing / breakfast room. Excellent local pubs are within walking distance. Cheltenham and Cirencester are both 25 minutes away.
The guest accommodation is a newly refurbished private wing of this beautiful family home, and comprises a quintessentially English cottage drawing / breakfast room, a spacious double bedroom with a King-size bed, and a brand new en-suite bathroom (with bath and overhead power shower). For a family stay, an inflatable mattress and camp bed are available on request. We have ponies and dogs and an abundance of wildlife on our doorstep. The views from the garden over the valley are just stunning, a table at the edge of the garden makes a delightful spot for a summer's evening.
Middle Lypiatt is a rural hamlet surrounded by beautiful countryside although only a couple of miles from Stroud and walking distance from many pubs. The cottage is perched on the edge of Lypiatt Ridge, with far reaching views over the Toadsmoor Valley, which runs down to the Golden Valley between Cirencester and Stroud, so named by Queen Victoria when she took a train through the area. The surrounding area boasts several historic homes. Dick Whittington, the celebrated Lord Mayor of London bought nearby Lypiatt Park in 1395. The Queen’s first cousin Prince Michael of Kent lived at the other end of the Lypiatt Ridge in Nether Lypiatt Manor until 2005. Today our neighbours include the home of the world-famous Giffords Circus. Come and enjoy this area of outstanding natural beauty. A gentle walk through a private valley with incredible panoramic views will lead you to The Ram, a welcoming local gastro-pub serving great food. Or head over the Lypiatt Ridge to The Woolpack, Cider with Rosie author Laurie Lee’s second home. The cottage is also ideally situated for exploring all the culture and heritage that the Cotswolds can offer. The bustling market town of Cirencester, known as the ‘Capital of the Cotswolds’ is within easy reach, as are Stroud’s Farmers and Craft market, Cheltenham Race Course and Festivals, Daylesford Farm Shop & Restaurant, Painswick, Gatcombe and Badminton Horse Trials, polo at Edgeworth and Cirencester Park, the Roman Villa at Chedworth, Westonbirt Arboretum, VWH and Cotswold Point to Points, numerous golf courses and Sudeley Castle. Bath and Oxford are within an hour's drive.
  • My hosts could not have been more welcoming. Horses and cake from the oven. Absolutely beautiful and peaceful countryside. Thank you for your charm and hospitality.

  • Staying with Suzie, Matt and their family was truly one of the best experiences I've ever had on Airbnb! My wife and I arrived at their cottage after a full day of exploring the Cotswolds (including a long hike). We pulled up to the trio of limestone cottages and were greeted warmly by Matt. Matt showed us to the our "room", which was the entire cottage on the western end of the house, including a living room with wood fireplace, sitting area and winding wooden staircase up to the second floor. The second floor held our bedroom with en-suite bathroom. Both the sitting room and the bedroom were warm, cozy, spotless and spacious (with separate entrance). Matt and Suzie were full of details about the area, villages and hikes (and one of them is a brilliant baker, as part of our welcome was a warm cuppa and a slice of Victoria sponge cake!). We took them up on a recommendation for a pub dinner on Saturday night (Ram Inn in Bussage, which you can cut across the field to get to, but it was dark so we didn't try it!), a lovely, local place with good food. we were greeted with breakfast on both mornings, and Matt lit the wood burning fireplace for us as well in the evening, which was really cozy. Communication with Suzie was clear and quick, the location is excellent for exploring the Cotswold, and close to some nice hiking spots and quaint villages. Immaculate room, comfortable bed, and peaceful location. Lovely house and a lovely family, we would absolutely stay with them again (and in fact my wife has just recommended them to a friend who is looking to head to the Cotswolds with family).

  • We had a fantastic stay at Susie's cottage. Susie was a great host, with a warm welcome including some much-appreciated cool beverages and snacks. The cottage was lovely, the bed had beautiful linen, the bathroom with stunning fittings. A super comfy bed, and really nice breakfast topped our visit off just nicely. We would have loved to have stayed longer had our timeframe allowed us.

  • We had a wonderful time at this idyllic peaceful cottage. It was beautifully decorated with a stunning bedroom, comfy king size bed and crisp cotton sheets. Amazing power shower with bath, if like me you prefer a relaxing soak. Each morning susie had prepared a lovely continental breakfast for us. Susie and Matt are dedicated hosts, who make you feel really welcome. When we arrived susie made us tea and slice of homemade cake ...lovely touch. Matt introduced himself when he got home. They have horses close to the cottage that you can see from your bathroom, lovely country feel. We ate at a lovely pub The Ram inn down their private valley. We also had meals in Stroud at an Italian called Sorrento. If you looking for a relaxing peaceful stay we can highly recommend this delightful cottage, it's just what we needed. Nothing was to much trouble and we really enjoyed speaking to them both. Thank you ! susie and Matt for our restful stay, we would love to return to your beautiful home. Warm regards Delma & chris x
