  • Nicky and David's home is located on a hill with a beautiful scenic view from their front porch. The house offers all the amenities you could want from an airbnb- a fully stocked kitchen, netflix, shampoo/conditioner, heating and more. The home is peaceful and very clean. Nicky communicated with me the whole way through. Highly recommended!

  • The view from the front deck is amazing, the check-in process was so easy, and communication was great. The hot water stopped working at one point-- on a weekend-- and there was someone was in to fix it within a few hours. We were back in hot showers in no time. The place is newly renovated, and clearly with thought and care. Highly recommended.

  • We were just passing through that night, but this is a nice size home with a view! Wish we had more time to explore the area.

  • Great place for us and the kids. Would definitely stay there again!

    Brendan2017-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay at Nicky's cottage. The view is gorgeous, the place was very comfortable, clean and decorated beautifully. Definitely recommended for anyone traveling in this beautiful part of upstate New York.

  • We stayed in Nicky's home to get away from city life and we found that escape during our stay. The home is fairly well equipped and is located in a quite neighborhood surrounded by nature. The porch has nice chairs to sit and relax. The bedrooms were cozy and the beds extremely comfortable. The bathroom was well stocked as well. Nicky was an extremely responsive host and we hope to come back to stay in the future!

    Samantha2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • My family had a great time at the Cottage. The house itself is great with a beautiful porch with an amazing view. Nicky is a great host and very easy to get in contact with. Everything in the cottage feels new and clean, and it was great having a TV that had Netflix. Tx Nicky!

Hand built log cabin on 5 acres of cleared land in 28 acres of woods with trails. Bordered by a creek with swimming holes and waterfalls. Complete privacy.
This secluded one of a kind Catskill Mountain log cabin is 2.5 hours from the GWB. The fully furnished cabin is clean, cozy and airy and is a great place to get away to. The newly renovated kitchen is big and open and perfect for group cooking and gathering. It features a Viking stove, Meile dishwasher and 2 sinks. In the walk in pantry you'll find a coffee maker, cones and filters for drip coffee, a French Press (bring your own beans), a blender, mixer, cuisinart, waffle iron, ice cream maker, whirly pop, large pasta pot, turkey roasting pan. The cabin features a wood burning fireplace; dining table big enough for 10; an out of tune piano and a great collection of both adult and children's books and board games; wireless high speed internet access is available as well as a 36 inch flat screen (NO cable TV) with a DVD player; stereo with multi-disc cd player and ipod jack with indoor and/or outdoor speakers; and a covered front porch. Outside is a fire pit, a fantastic tire swing, a sledding hill in winter, a tree house and a big front lawn, perfect for a football game or snowball fight. The cabin is surrounded by 28 acres of private, quiet, beautiful woods, full of deer, turkey, squirrels, owls and chipmunks. Take a quiet walk along our babbling Thorpe Creek to the swimming hole or hike along the creek to explore magnificent waterfalls upstream and down. In the area- explore hiking trails in the Catskill Mountains, visit Olana - the home of Hudson River artist Frederick Church, The Thomas Cole House in Catskill, shop at nearby organic farm stands, go antiquing, visit yards sales, and jump into an auction at Mooney's. Skiers! We're a 20 minute drive from Windham, 30 minutes from Hunter. Treasure Hunters! 30 minute drive to Hudson for great restaurants and antiquing. Go swimming, fishing, horseback riding, snowmobiling, cross country skiing and after, visit local Irish pubs with nightly musical entertainment. This is a perfect place to spend some relaxed time with the ones you love. Well behaved pets welcomed.

Pass the tree house and continue along the ridge. The path continues up the bluff to the left, or drops down the ridge to the right. If you drop down to the creek, turn right to walk along the creek to the swimming hole. If you continue past the swimming hole, you’ll come out at the bottom of our driveway. Cross Golden Hill Road, cross the end of Gavin’s field and you’ll see a foot path taking you down to the waterfall. If you continue down the creek, there are more ponds and waterfalls. North South Lake - We love the hike up to Artists Rock and on to Sunset Rock. Both hikes start at North South Lake - about a 20 minute drive from the cabin. You can also walk around the lake on the road. (URL HIDDEN) Kaaterskills Falls - Also great. The falls are spectacular. (URL HIDDEN) Olana - Not really a hike, but very nice to drive across the Rip Van Winkle Bridge and walk around the grounds. It’s about a 20 minute drive from the cabin. • I booked Ellen's cabin for my 30th birthday and had a total of 7 guests in my party. The cabin blew away our expectations - it's beautiful, clean, private and fully stocked with whatever you need! Ellen answered all of our questions and was extremely helpful. I will definitely be returning :)

    jessica2013-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • Booking the cabin with Ellen was a breeze, and more importantly, the cabin was everything we could have hoped for. My large group of friends and I were delighted to find a rustic, homey, spacious cabin up in a secluded area. The kitchen was amazing to cook in, the outdoor grill was perfect s'mores and steaks, and everyone had a lovely time. Highly recommended!

    Andrew2013-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • Ellen's cabin is absolutely beautiful - with incredible rustic features and a spectacular kitchen. Our group had a wonderful weekend filled with skiing, cooking, and laughter. We could not have asked for a better experience - I highly recommend Ellen's cabin to anyone looking for the perfect Catskills experience.

    Shannon2014-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Ellen's cabin is in a beautiful, secluded part of the Catskills but close enough to amenities for those who need regular supplies for group meals cooked in the cabin's wonderful kitchen! My party and I loved every minute of our stay and everything we needed to be comfortable was on hand in the cabin.

    Matthew2017-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin was fantastic! Our group of 8 stayed here for a ski weekend and found it to be the perfect getaway. Our only regret was we spent too much time skiing and left to little time to just chill out in the cabin! We're already planning a return trip.

    Daniel2015-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • We had a really great moment in Ellen's cabin. The cabin is really the same as you can see on the photo. A wonderful WE at only 2,5 hours of NYC. Windham Moutain is so closed to the cottage where you could skiing (15min). And the cabin, with the beautiful and large kitchen, and the wood burner is so nice. Ellen gave us all informations before coming. It couldn't be better and sure, we will come back. Thanks Ellen.

Bluff House is a midcentury modern with a fieldstone fireplace, exposed beams and a wall of windows in the living room. A private drive leads to a secluded 35 acres on Catskill Creek. The house has two bedrooms and a loft with a day bed up a ladder.
Two bedrooms accommodate up to four guests (one queen, one twin bed) and a sleeping loft has a day bed that turns into two twin mattresses. Kitchen, dining room, living room, and deck with barbecue complete the house, which is situated back from the road on 35 acres ideal for cross country skiing and snowshoeing. For downhill skiers, Windham is a 25 minute drive, and Hunter Mountain is a 35 minute drive. You’re 2 hours from the George Washington Bridge. For those who want to stay close to home, winter affords gorgeous views of Catskill Forest Preserve from the dining room, kitchen, and South Bedroom, and all along the bluff. Catskill Creek is a scramble down the bluff and runs through the property. Our woods are filled with mushrooms, berries, diverse trees and plant life, and a matching community of birds and animals. You are less than 15 minutes to shopping in Cairo and close to delicious dinners at Ruby’s Hotel in Freehold, and in Greenville at the Mountain View Brasserie and the Hollowbrook Inn. Built in 1969, Bluff House was conceived with mid-century flair by the local art teacher who lived in it and lovingly maintained it for 50 years. In taking over the house, my partner, Mical, and I are doing our best to keep the integrity of his vision. This is the opposite of a complete renovation. Almost everything in the house is original, and the furnishings we've brought to it are either from the period or in its spirit (I am a furniture maker and a number of the house's pieces are my own). There is WiFi but no TV. Out of respect for the environmental, we emphasize recycling and use low-impact products (ideally scent-free). We are LGBTQ friendly and dog positive (dogs must be respectful of the local wildlife). Most of the house is on one floor (only the loft is up a ladder) and there is ramp access. The front door and bathroom may require limited mobility. If you use a wheelchair, please call us for details so that we can give you a better sense of whether the house would suit you. We have not child-proofed and recommend you only bring children older than 6.
  • The Bluff House was such a pleasure. The property is hidden away in the woods along a bluff. There is a very refreshing creek, an easy walk just down the bluff. We were worried it would be difficult to get the creek but there is zagging path that takes you directly there, and it's worth it. The grounds also host some delicious wild raspberries. I had to restrain myself so future guests could enjoy some. The house itself is lovely and clean. The kitchen has any utensils and spices you may need as well as some basic supplies. There is also a new grill that worked great. The bathroom also is well-stocked with soaps and other necessaries in case you forget to bring anything. There is wifi, but no TV, which was just fine for us. There are a lot of interesting books and adornments throughout. The house is within driving distance to some lovely hikes. We especially loved Poet's Walk. Tim was a great host and very communicative and accommodating. Finally, our dog just loved it.

    Dan2015-07-11T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at the Bluff House was wonderful. From the moment we walked in the door we felt welcomed and knew that Tim had thought of everything - he had left a small basket with a blanket, towel and note about how our dog should also be comfortable on our stay. The views were beautiful and the house was stunning with its mid-century design and furnishings. The loft was incredible and my wife loved the library of art books/magazines from over the years. Communication with Tim was easy and straightforward. We will absolutely be back and cannot wait to see the place in the spring/summer!

  • This is the most special, beautiful little spot on earth and I can't wait to go back! We were there with 4 adults and 2 dogs and had plenty of space. The house is gorgeously and artfully decorated so that everywhere you look, something beautiful delights your eye. The kitchen is large and super fun to cook in because all the cabinets are labeled! The grounds are beautiful and private, with a delightful ramble down to the creek, which we followed out to a large "watering hole," but the woods by the house are also worth a hiking exploration on their own--so mossy and magical. Tim was so easy to communicate with, and so accommodating. At one point, the propane tank that supplies cooking gas and hot water ran out, and Tim had people come to refill it within hours, even though it was the Sunday of a holiday weekend. He also graciously allowed us to leave our trash behind, because we didn't have room for it in our small car (it appears that take-away trash is typical for this region). The books in the house are so thoughtfully curated and with a real book lover's sensibility. The original art on the walls is world-class. The house was so clean and well-organized, we felt at home from the moment we got there, and it was quite tragic to have to leave. I hope Tim will have us back to magical Bluff House again!

  • The bluff house was a great getaway . Me and my family had a great time. We really enjoyed the fireplace as well. Tim was great a great host and very responsive. Lovely home. It was clean and everthing we needed was there. I would definetly recommended.

  • Beautiful location! The house has a lot of charm and Tim is a very thoughtful host. A perfect place for a relaxing getaway.

    Keyana2017-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • We can't praise Bluff House enough. It's better than the photos. Sumptuous, warm, curated with love. The high ceiling, wall of windows, warm fire, great books, and absolute silence and serenity make this a perfect spot to relax or read. Great for a couple who wants total privacy (we didn't see another human for three days). We didn't want to leave, and hope to return.

    Debra2017-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic time at Tim & Mical's beautiful Catskills property! We visited with our two kids and Yellow Lab. Tim & Mical are very thoughtful, responsive and welcoming hosts. The property stands out for its spaciousness and privacy, without being isolated. It is neat, well maintained, and has all the amenities. The hosts have put a lot of thought & effort into making Bluff House as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. The house manual is the most detailed and comprehensive that I've ever seen at Airbnb! We enjoyed walking around the property, wading in the stream, the amazing views, and playing with the kids and dog in the yard. We look forward to visiting again and highly recommend Bluff House.

  • My family and I had a wonderful stay at Tim's house in the Catskills. The house was perfect for a getaway from the city, with a great lawn and outdoor patio to enjoy the beautiful surroundings. We were very comfortable and also enjoyed cooking in their well-appointed kitchen. Tim was a great host, very responsive and easy to work with. Thanks for a great stay!

  • A very cozy cabin and a nice alternative to camping or a standard motel along route 45. The cabin is brand new with conveniences including a kitchenette, bathroom, A/C and a mini goldfish pond. Robert check-in on us to make sure our stay went well and we booked again for next year.

    Paul2017-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • My fiance and I spent 2 nights in the Cozy Cabin, a quaint cottage situated in the Catskills. We loved it, especially the fire pit located outside the cabin. We had a wonderful and relaxing weekend, and we slept comfortably on the futon. Robt was an extremely helpful host whose communication with us was top-notch. The small cabin was fully equipt with a small fridge, a bathroom with toilet (showers located in a bath house just a few meters away), a microwave, air conditioning and TV (with cable TV). Even though we stayed in August and it was warm during the day, we were happy to have our warm sleeping bags on hand as temperatures dipped at night. We will definitely be back!

My place is close to Ski Windham, Hunter Mountain, Zoom Flume, BlackThorn, East Durham Irish Cultural Center, Northern Catskill Mountains and Point Lookout. You’ll love my place because of The Five State View. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and families (with kids).
  • Beautiful place. Scenic and is located in a scenic road. We saw the best of fall folliage during 2 mile drive through cornwallville ed to the home. Neat and tidy!

  • This house is what it says it is! It is a panoramic paradise full of amazing views, fresh air, lots of green grass to roam and a picturesque back porch area with chairs around a fire pit where you can roast marshamallows and make s'mores(which Carrie generously provided). Carrie is an awesome host. My family and I had a fantastic time and would definitely recommend!!

    Wenhui2017-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • Such a fantastic place to stay! Carrie went out of her way to make sure that we felt like we were at home...and we did feel that way! The living space itself was very clean and well designed...but that pales in comparison to the view that you have every day! Our group would come back every morning and just gaze in awe of the landscape...and from our view on a clear day you can see five states! The calm and serenity of this place is an absolute must for anyone looking to just get away and unwind for a bit. We highly recommend a night with the fire pit and stars! Situated about 15 minutes from Windham and 15 minutes from Cairo-Durham we found the location to be very convenient for all our needs. An absolute A+ in our book and would definitely stay there again on our next visit!

    Doug2017-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • Great escape from NYC. Very quiet location, about two miles off the main road. The place is in the basement of a nice, big house that Carrie and her husband live in. The place was clean and well furnished with sheets and towels as well. Amazing view from out the glass sliding doors in the living room. Close to Windham (15 min), Hunter (25 min). 15 min from the supermarket in Cairo. Not too too many choices in terms of dining, we used yelp primarily to find places. Overall it was exactly what we were looking for, a nice rural getaway escape from urban life for the weekend. Carrie was great- super friendly and welcoming, communication was easy and convenient.

    James2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Very welcoming and pleasant. The view is breath taking!

    ALLYSON2017-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • Had an amazing stay with friends at this apartment! We traveled to this area to visit the famous Fawn's leap and Kaaterskills Falls. Most people book around Hunter, but traveling 15-20 for this spot was definitely worth it. Secluded with the most gorgeous view--definitely the best out of all the airbnbs I stayed at. Carrie was very accommodating and offered us wood to start a fire. Most of our stay we stayed outside on their large comfy wooden lawn chairs looking at the views with drinks, watching the sunset, and the stars at night. This was a last minute book but my friends and I were so glad we found this place, a hidden gem, instead of booking the regular cabin at Hunter. Highly recommend. Thanks again Carrie!!

Our cozy 3 bedroom home offers great variation for a weekend get away. On 7 acres of property our home provides a quiet and relaxing atmosphere. Catch the sunrise from the couch or outdoor furniture on our deck, enjoy a game of pool or darts in the 'man cave' (located behind the home), BBQ or explore the incredible outdoors of upstate New York - great hikes and Windham/Hunter Mountain just a short car ride away! 2 miles from Zoom Flume Water Park.
Escape the hustle and bustle of work and city life. A wonderful place to unplug and relax. This space was a garage that my husband and I transformed into a cozy country cottage. No contractors, just a dime and a dream. 12 years later and we still thoroughly enjoy this home and all nature has to offer in the great Northern Catskills.
Great location. Northern Hudson Valley with panoramic Catskill mountain and valley views. 7 miles from Windham Mountain and restaurants!
  • This was a wonderful getaway spot. Great setup, with sweet bedrooms. The kitchen had everything we needed and man cave was a real bonus, we spent most of our time there. Beautiful mountain views and we even seen a turkey walking in the yard this morning.

We met our two kids and their significant others for a holiday weekend getaway, and this was a perfect spot. Lovely views, quiet area, and Cathleen and John were really easy to deal with. Communication was lightening-fast. This is a nice, neat, lovely spot that we will certainly return to...

  • We had a great time at Les's lodge. Nice, spacious and a lot of elk to look at. Les was a great host and greeted us as we found the place (yes, it's down a small road on the left when coming from the south).

  • We had a great time at Armstrong's Elk Farm. Les is a very kind host and his home is very unique and cozy. There is plenty of space and the views of the mountains are amazing. We enjoyed sitting by the outdoor fire and the peacefulness of the property. Our dog loved exploring the property as well. Les was very interesting to talk to. He was very knowledgeable and gave us some good tips about the local hiking spots. We really enjoyed our stay there. Thank you again Les.

  • Very cool home on a beautiful property, Les was kind and friendly. Enjoyed our stay.

    Elizabeth2016-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • There's no shortage of artifacts to catch your eye at Les' home -- it's truly a unique place. Les lives downstairs and is quick to respond to any questions or concerns. When the hot tub wasn't working, he made a great effort to fix it and even shared some venison with us. Note: For those very sensitive to cigarette smoke, there is a bit of it lingering in the home.

  • We had a wonderful weekend at the Elk Farm. The house was just awesome, with antlers and animals throughout. The kitchen was well-equipped - we found everything we needed very easily. Les was outstanding. He took the time to answer all our questions about the elk and explained how to feed them so we could see them up close. They were just amazing to watch. We were comfortable and we had a really unique and wonderful experience, which is everything we had hoped for. I would absolutely stay with Les again.

  • We didn't realize until after we made the reservation that the host lived in the basement. Thankfully he was willing to let us have the house to ourselves for our stay, otherwise it would have been a real disappointment since we were looking for a quiet, secluded type of vacation. The house was a bit run down and could have been cleaner but our kids really had a blast looking at the animals in the back and collecting the daily chicken egg from the coop. We also were not aware from the pictures that the house is right on a road, although it isn't a busy one, it's something to keep in mind if you have kids and or a dog.

Camp in comfort in a unique furnished Bedouin style tent on a working organic farm in the Great Northern Catskills. More than just a place to camp, your visit offers you an authentic farm stay experience. For additional farm stay options, see our other site listings: https://www.airbnb.com/users/3345227/listings. Returning Visitors receive 10% discount!
Welcome to Foxtail Community Farm! A working family farm, we raise vegetables, fruit, flowers, herbs, chickens, & turkeys using sustainable growing practices. Our camp sites are in a secluded, natural area of the farm surrounded by 50+ acres of woods, meadow, farm fields and a spring-fed pond. The four unique sites are placed out of direct line-of-sight from one another, giving you personal space and privacy. Natural beauty and wildlife abound - fall asleep to the hooting of owls and chirping of crickets, wake to the clucking of hens and scent of wild honeysuckle. We're far from any city lights, making for brilliant stargazing. The Pond Site is situated on the grassy bank of a small spring-fed pond, across a footbridge from the rest of the campground. The site is a small natural meadow surrounded by tall pine, birch, and poplar trees, beyond which lie our farm fields. The large Bedouin style canvas bell tent is fully furnished with a king-size bed, colorful throw rugs, comfy beanbag chair, floor pillows, and vintage farm crate end tables. An outdoor campfire pit, picnic table, and charcoal grill are in the site for your exclusive use. This site is very romantic and is ideal for couples. It can accommodate a few children sleeping on the floor of the tent, or if you set up a second tent in the site. We provide: - All bedding for the king-sized bed in the tent - 5 gallon jug of drinking water at your site - Simple portable hanging camp shower bag (you fill & hang in your site) - Two solar-powered camping lanterns - One stack of firewood per night (extra may be purchased from us) - Dishes & utensils for two - including a corkscrew! - Charcoal grill, matches, grill utensils & grill chimney starter - A hand-pulled wagon to tote your gear and use throughout your stay You Should Bring: - Charcoal for the grill - A secure cooler & ice for storing your food. NO food may be stored inside the tent. We recommend a lock or bungie cord to keep the cooler safe from curious animals overnight. - Ground pads, cots, sleeping bags, etc for guests over two We have a small selection of coolers and other assorted camping gear available to rent if needed. You'll also have shared use with the other campers of the central campground area which includes: - clean port-a-potty with hand washing area - small very simple camp kitchen with propane camping stove, coffeemaker, basic cookware, plus assorted card and board games - Large open grassy areas with equipment provided for horseshoes, badminton, bocce, wiffle ball, and tractor-tire swing Despite the additional luxuries of this site, it's important to recognize this is still camping and not a hotel! The campground is rustic and off-the-grid, which is part of the draw and enjoyment. There is no running water, no plumbing or showers, no electricity or wi-fi, and cell phone service may be spotty (guests have access to running water in the farm yard, 1/4 mile from camp sites). All sites are strictly walk-in - no private vehicles are allowed in the campground. It's a beautiful, natural space with a secluded and intimate feel.
The campground is surrounded entirely by natural and agricultural space. You are welcome to explore and enjoy the entire 50+ acre farm property, including marked hiking trails through the woods and open fields. If you want to venture out, we are five miles west of the village of Greenville, a friendly small rural town with grocery and convenience stores, bank/ATM, pharmacies, park/playground, a drive-in showing classic movies, ice cream shops and several family-friendly dining options. A little further from town you'll find antique stores, horseback riding, several excellent restaurants, Zoom Flume Water Park, Huyck Nature Preserve and the Catskill State Park. There are a number of natural swimming holes in creeks within a short drive of the farm, and several public and private parks with swimming beaches within a 45 minute drive. The area offers outstanding hiking options, from easy nature walks to challenging mountain scrambles.
  • Hello! My boyfriend, Vince and I spent a weekend at this lovely farm and it was the best vacation we've ever had! Rachel and Eric are extremely welcoming and warm. They're fantastic hosts, the glamping tent we stayed in was gorgeous with pillows and books and a bean bag chair ! We also took advantage of the activities they offer throughout the farm, like jam making and bee keeping and volunteering at the farm ! We loved every second of it. We will surely be back again and will keep in touch! Thank you for everything Rachel and Eric!

    Leyla2016-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • Wow, what a beautiful spot! My husband and I both loved the glamping tent--comfortable and idyllic. Rachel and Eric were great hosts, and we loved eating vegetables, bread, and meat from their farm.

    Mimi2017-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • This place is amazing. Rachel & Eric where in contact with us since the very first moment, offering help and advices to find them easily. They gave us directions, plans, general information and they also waited for us even thought we arrive very late due to a flight delay. the place is wonderful located in a beautiful very private spot. perfect for a romatic get away or just for a simple weekend outside the city. great local food, farm eggs, delicious muffins and all you need to enjoy the stay. just notice there are no showers but beautiful waterfalls 20 min drive where you can rinse of and play with water.

    luis felipe2016-06-20T00:00:00Z
  • We had an incredible glamping experience. Rachel was extremely welcoming, making sure we arrived there and settled in our luxurious tent. She even provided a pack to make smores! We had our own private fireplace as well as being isolated from everyone else. Rachel provided all the equipment such as a nice dining set, lamps, matches, wood, rain coats and boots. We made a delicious dinner on the fire (we highly recommend bringing food to cook over the raw fire, this made our experience so much sweeter). Breakfast was included, which was delicious and locally sourced. All in all, Rachel went out of her way to provide first rate hospitality and a great experience. Thank you :)

    Greg2017-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • Eric and Rachel are fantastic hosts. The kids went and picked veggies which we then had an opportunity to eat and enjoy. We have never been camping and this was a great way to get our feet wet.

    Raykru2017-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at the glamping site for 2 nights and we had a great weekend in New York. The site had everything we wanted for a low maintenance stay, while allowing us to have a camping experience. The walk from the house was short but long enough that we felt secluded. Breakfasts were delicious on saturday and sunday mornings and set a great tone for the days. Rachel prepared vegetarian options for me, which I really appreciated. Would definitely come back!

    emily2017-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful respite from summer in the city! I would love to return in the fall, too. My husband and I enjoyed such a peaceful, romantic evening in the amazing Bedouin style tent; I just wish we could have stayed longer! This is the perfect combination of beautiful, rustic nature and total comfort -- as someone who loves campfires, seclusion and quiet but doesn't like sleeping in a regular tent, I found this ideal! The inside of the glamping tent is beautifully furnished, and the king sized bed very comfortable with soft blankets. Even after a hot, humid day, the campsite was wonderfully cool at night. We sat under a million brilliant stars and enjoyed our camp fire and each other's company amongst the croaking of bullfrogs and flicker of fireflies. Rachel was a fantastic host, and treated us to a delicious breakfast in the morning, complete with farm fresh eggs and veggies. We loved seeing a working farm in action, and felt completely welcomed into daily activities. We really enjoyed talking with her about local, sustainable agriculture. Rachel directed us to a local swimming hole under a waterfall -- so dreamy and refreshing! The area is filled with hiking trails, hidden swimming spots and rural beauty. We ate almost entirely locally, savoring the produce of the season. Overall, this place is a real gem and a true get-away. We can't wait to return!

    Jenna2016-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • "Glamping", a very comfortable alternative to camping. My husband and I were headed to Greyfox bluegrass festival. Although I started looking months in advance, I found accommodation listings sparse. Rachel's listing really caught my eye, but I didnt get my hopes up and kept an open mind. My husband (early 60's) loves camping. I would prefer less work and a comfortable bed, we got the best of both worlds. Rachel and Eric very welcoming, accommodating, communicative and unobtrusive. They live on a beautiful working farm, that offers beauty, nature and privacy to their guests. They offered a delicious optional breakfast, I would recommend. They have a few other campsites available, but you have plenty of space and privacy. You cant drive a car to the site, but Eric offers his tractor to haul your gear. Its a very civilized 5 minute walk to site. Rachel recommended a flashlight, but we find we did better by moonlight. This was a convenient comfortable weekend away for me, and I didnt have to bring the camping gear, but we both wished we planned for more time just to hang around the campsite, a piece of "heaven on earth". Thanks for a lovely weekend away!

The house is located in the Catskills, Greenville, NY, (Green County). Owning my own construction company, I personally built the home in 2013 at the end of a private road surrounded by 11 acres. The house is fully furnished with all the amenities. It has a beautiful view of the Catskill mountains from a huge front deck where you can sit and relax, unwind and/or have an outdoor cookout. It is complete with a covered outdoor picnic table and lawn chairs for sunbathing or just simply relaxing.
The house was built in 2013 on 11 acres. It's very private and secluded at the end of a private road. The house is fully furnished with all amenities. There is also an outdoor shower and a large sun deck complete with patio furniture and lounge chairs. It has a complete view of the beautiful Catskill Mountains. It is very quiet and serene. You will hear only the sounds of chirping birds and the wind blowing the leaves of the surrounding trees, the rain and whatever other noises you may decide to make. The house space is 720 square feet with full spacious living room, full kitchen with all kitchen appliances, dining area with 4 chairs, a bedroom with 2 queen size beds (one bed lower level and one bed upper loft). There is a very large outdoor deck for outdoor dining complete with 6 chairs and umbrella. Plus 2 lounge chairs for relaxing or sunbathing. There is a golf course within walking distance to the "Sunny Hill Resort & Golf Course". Golfing is open to the public. All other amenities of the resort are for members only. Freehold and Greenville are 5-10 min car drive. In Freehold there is a great bar where you can eat and have some drinks and mingle with the locals. Greenville has a big supermarket "Tops" open 24/7. You will need a car to get to the house and grocery store/restaurants. There is no public transportation. If you have any questions you can contact me at any time. I love my house upstate NY and I hope you enjoy my piece of peace and tranquility in Greenville NY.
Two great restaurants nearby if looking to go out for great food - "The Mountainview Brasserie" and "The Hollowbrook Inn & Restaurant" - both in Greenville, NY, a 5 min drive. There is a golf course walking distance. Freehold and Greenville Townships are 5-10 min by car. Also, there is a very nice bar/restaurant in Freehold (5 min drive), love their burgers. In Greenville there is Tops Supermarket, Subway sandwiches, liquor store, Dunkin Donuts, as well as Rite Aid and Dollar General. Also almost right across "Dunkin Donuts there is a smallplace called "Lane's Cafe" with great breakfast food. You can drive to several hiking trails and beautiful creeks/streams. Greens Lake and a pool are within a short drive to Athens.
  • We had a great short escape to nature at Kliment's Catskills house. The location is excellent - lots of open land, private, and nice views, but also convenient to shopping and some restaurants. The house and deck itself had everything we needed to be comfortable and for cooking. And Kliment was an excellent, responsive host.

    Robert2016-11-13T00:00:00Z
  • As a new user of airbnb, I was not sure what to expect but the entire experience was a good one thanks to Kliment being a very helpful and friendly host. The process of booking was very easy and Kliment was always fast to respond. The accommodations were great and will appeal to nature lovers and those seeking a quiet getaway. (Be sure to bring bug spray.) The house is set far apart from neighboring homes at the end of a dead end road and offers peaceful and serene surroundings. It is a secluded and private setting with plenty of wildlife including wild turkeys and deer. The house itself has very nice and modern furnishings, lots of natural light and a great open floor plan in the main living area. The fully stocked kitchen provided all cooking supplies we could need, even down to a great coffee machine. The flat screen TV and comfy couches made relaxing inside just as enjoyable as the outside. The outdoor shower was a unique find and a great bonus that really added to the relaxation factor. The views from the deck and quiet atmosphere made our stay particularly relaxing and memorable. We were also truly grateful to find a place that allowed pets. Our dog loved every moment of it and we thoroughly enjoyed our first getaway with our pup coming along for the ride. We had a wonderful time and hope to come back.

  • This was our second time staying at Kliment's - he is so quick to respond and easy to communicate with. His home is welcoming and being at the property is so relaxing. If you're looking for a good place for a weekend getaway from NYC that lets you feel out of the city, don't hesitate to book!

    Rachael2017-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • After an extensive search looking for the right Labor Day weekend getaway in Upstate New York, we found this gem on Airbnb. We were impressed and intrigued by the photos and description online and never expected to be even more impressed in person. What a wonderful few days we had here, including our little Brussels Griffon, Zohan. The house was clean, organized, comfortable and adequately outfitted with everything we needed. We stocked up on all our food and beverage needs in Cairo (only 20 minutes away) at the Hannaford grocery store. We enjoyed cooking indoors and outdoors on the grill, enjoying star-filled nights on the deck. The host was immediately responsive to any questions that we had during our stay. The icing on the cake: the outdoor shower! Perfect for sunbathing! We can's say enough wonderful things about our experience! We hope to return sometime in the very near future! Highly recommend!

    Davey2015-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • This place was just like the photos, private, beautiful and secluded. We wanted a weekend gateway from reality and this place did it. We really appreciated the design of this place, it had beautiful design details and deck is perfectly located for you to take in the view. The host was always available and even let us check out a bit later. We would definitely come back!

    Asya2016-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • Kliment's place is amazing. The deck over looking the field is wonderful and the outdoor (there is an indoor one too) shower is awesome. It is one of the most peaceful places I have ever stayed. He was very helpful during my stay and I would definitely stay there again.

    Matt2016-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • The property is super private and the surrounding area is beautiful. The kitchen is fully ready for cooking to your heart's content. The living room area can handle any entertainment needs. The Internet is super fast and reliable. The bed is comfortable and the bathroom has a nice shower. What more can you ask for? Kliment clearly put his heart into this house.

    Larry2017-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • Rent this place. NOW!!! If you are looking for the ultimate relaxation destination that is also close to outdoor activities, look no further. The house is hidden out in nature and you cannot hear anything except nature. The views from the porch and the living room are fantastic. The place is quiet, relaxing, and truly peaceful. And the outdoor shower! Truly an amazing addition. Who doesn't want to shower while staring into the mountains??!! You can cool off after a day of hiking, dry off outdoors, then go right to relaxing on the deck, which is gigantic. The deck as mood lighting at night and every night was amazing to sit out on the porch with a drink and relax in absolute peace. The house has everything you need for a vacation and I didn't have to bring anything with me. Kliment has thought of everything and is easily reachable by phone if you had an issue or needed anything. I came out for the Grey Fox bluegrass festival and it's only a 15 minute drive from the house. Amazing hiking trails are 30-40 minutes away. I don't eat out or drink coffee so I can't comment on local restaurants or coffee shops, but the Hannaford is only 15 minutes away.

  • Robt was extremely helpful in describing what amenities were available and where they were located. Location is extremely easy to get here just as he mentioned. The cabin was adorable, minimal and comfortable, everything that was described and what we had envisioned when booking. The property was adorable, communal, yet still we had our private sector and were left virtually undisturbed. There were animals roaming the property which gave enormous entertainment to watch. All in all a wonderful trip and will be coming back in the future. Absolutely recommend!

    Ashley2016-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • This campground is very family orientated and very cute. The cabin was exactly what we wanted and the bathhouse was not too far away. There was a very large crew that partied in the public area from literally 9 AM until 2 AM every night. This would be my only complaint as I came away from New York City to get away from loud Spanish music and noisy people, so I never really got the peace and quiet that I wanted. The hosts were very nice

    Carly2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • It was a great experience! Robt answered my last minute request very quickly and provided great information before we headed out. He was friendly and available, but also gave us space. We enjoyed cooling off first thing in the pool. We actually had it to ourselves for awhile. We stupidly locked ourselves out our first day, but Robt was super kind and helped us out right away. The cabin is small, but clean and seems newly constructed. Perfect to be in the Catskills without being able to camp. The bathhouse is a short walk and similar to bathrooms you would find at a campsite. Easy to park right next to the cabin. Enjoyed seeing the miniature horses, ducks, and pigs. Thank you so much a great short getaway from the city!

  • We had a great time going around town, and it was reassuring to know we were coming back to a safe spot! Cozy little room, friendly neighbors, and a good space for the two of us to share.

    Sarah2017-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • Rob was great from the second I sent my first message asking about the cabin. Within minutes (certainly within 5 minutes) I had a response to my questions. This was my first Airbnb experience and Rob made it easy. I gave him a heads up on when I was leaving my house and when I expected to arrive (for Grey Fox Bluegrass Festival). When I arrived, the cabin was ready and clean. A bear and a balloon awaited me. Rob's wife made breakfast at a tent in the field next to the cabin each morning, which was great. The bathroom and shower were a short walk from the cabin, which gave it a "camping" feel, but with the enjoyable A/C, power and cable. The cabin had a good area to park my card, a fire pit and deck chairs. I also enjoyed swimming in the nearby pool. I asked Rob if I could feed pigs on the property (I like animals). Rob invited me to feed Peanut Butter and Jelly (the two pigs' names). I also got to pet the miniature horse and tiny mule. Too cool. Rob gave me my space but checked with me regularly to make sure everything was going good (it was). For my first Airbnb experience, from making my reservation, to checking out, I couldn't have asked for an easier, more positive experience. I highly recommend the cabin for anyone who wants a "camping experience" with all of the comfort for the typical non-camper (like me). Thanks for making it so positive!

    Ryan2016-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • Robs place was great. It had all the amenities that we needed. The walk to the bathroom wasn't too far and the cabin was very private. Rob answered all of our questions and we look forward to going back. It was only a 25 minute drive to the kaaterskills waterfalls!!!!

    Brian2017-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • Robt contacted us ahead of time to make sure we enjoy our stay. We originally wanted the cabin but since we brought our puppy, he upgraded us to a motel room at no extra cost! The room was nice and clean. This place is perfect to relax away from the city but we all commodities near by

  • Copper Hill House was the perfect weekend getaway. Both the house and it's surroundings were beautiful and serene. Patricia was a wonderful host and provided excellent communication in the weeks leading up to our trip!

    Samantha2016-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second time renting this property, and it was just as perfect as the first. The property is so fun to explore and so beautiful in the fall. All of our guests slept comfortably and had a great time. I would recommend this house over and over again.

    Becky2015-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome awesome vacation!! My family and I stayed at Patricia's house to ring in the new year and it couldn't have gone better. The Copper Hill house is just right for bonding with your friends and family. There was a lot of privacy and not a lot of distractions around. There were 9 of us and we all we're more than comfortable. Windham mountain was only 20-25 min away. Patricia was very attentive and responded very quickly when we had questions. The property manager was also very nice and very informative. I HIGHLY recommend staying there and will definitely keep the Copper Hill house in mind for future trips.

    Carlos2015-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Copper Hill House was as described, with comfy beds, fantastic interior design, and surrounded by serene woods. Patricia was a delightful and responsive host, before and during our trip. It was perfect for my 30th birthday getaway. Unfortunately, on the first night, we were horrified to discover mouse droppings and poison underneath the pillows and in the bedding in 4 out of 5 of the beds. We also discovered mouse droppings in the utensils drawers in the kitchen. The next day, when I called Patricia to tell her, she was very responsive: apologizing, expressing surprise, and sending her property manager, Debbie over to change our linens. Debbie assured us that the linens had been changed in the days prior to our trip, but that mice were common this time of year (certainly understandable). She told us that the brand of rodent poison she used was designed for mice to carry it back with them wherever they nest. It was unsettling to be told, halfway through our weekend trip, that mice had very recently burrowed themselves in the beds we slept in. Overall, we would have appreciated being given a heads up about a potential mice situation in advance, so we could've used that information to inform our decision of where to stay.

  • We had a wonderful stay here with extended family. The outdoor space is amazing, including two fire pits, tons of games, a pond, trails, and nearby creek. The house was comfortable and clean- perfect for a rustic getaway! Definitely recommend staying here.

  • Patricia's house is fantastic! In a quaint and beautiful part of New York. We loved the fire pit, playing badminton, and of course swimming in the creek. We'd definitely come back again!

Communication was clear and convenient. when we got to the house we were welcomed by the property manager Debbie, who was pleasant and friendly. The house is cosy, clean, beautifully designed and meticulously equipped. It was everything we needed for a break from the city on a wintery weekend. Thank you, Patricia!

Pitch your tent on a working organic farm in the Great Northern Catskills. Unplug & reconnect in a secluded off-the-grid setting surrounded by nature. More than just a place to camp, your visit offers you an authentic farm stay experience. Returning Visitors receive 10% discount! For additional farm stay options, see our other site listings: https://www.airbnb.com/users/3345227/listings.
Welcome to Foxtail Community Farm! A working family farm, we raise vegetables, fruit, flowers, herbs, chickens, & turkeys using sustainable growing practices. (We can't list our website here, but if you want to see what we are about look us up on-line: the full farm name, then a dot, then the three letters that come after the dot!) Our camp sites are in a secluded, natural area of the farm surrounded by 50+ acres of woods, meadow, farm fields and a spring-fed pond. The four unique sites are placed out of direct line-of-sight from one another, giving you personal space and privacy. Natural beauty and wildlife abound - fall asleep to the hooting of owls and chirping of crickets, wake to the songs of bluebirds and scent of wild honeysuckle. We're far from any city lights, making for brilliant stargazing. The Bramble Site is a grassy clearing naturally enclosed by wild fruit trees and briars. This site is located adjacent to (but set back from) the shared central campground area, making it very convenient for accessing open space and amenities, yet retaining a private feel because of the surrounding trees. It has a private fire pit, picnic table, charcoal grill and room for up to three tents for your party. The Bramble Site is a great choice for groups of friends, families, or couples. A maximum of three tents and eight people can be accommodated in this site. The rate for this site is based on campers bringing their own tents. If you prefer, we can set up a nylon pole tent for an additional charge (subject to availability). We provide a jug of drinking water, a simple portable hanging solar camping shower, one stack of firewood per night, and a grill chimney starter for your private use. You should bring a secure cooler for storing your food – never store food inside tents. Charcoal for the grill and extra firewood are available for purchase. We have a small selection of coolers and other assorted camping gear available to rent if needed. You'll also have shared use (shared with other three campsites) of the central campground area, which includes a clean port-a-potty with handwashing area and a small camp kitchen stocked with additional water, propane camping stove, coffeemaker, and basic cookware. Enjoy games of horseshoes, badminton, wiffle ball and a whirl on our giant tractor-tire swing! The campground is rustic and off-the-grid, which is part of the draw and enjoyment. There is no running water, no electricity or wi-fi, and cell phone service may be spotty (guests have access to running water in the farm yard, 1/4 mile from camp sites). No private vehicles are allowed in the campground. It's a beautiful, natural space with a secluded and intimate feel.
The campground is surrounded entirely by natural and agricultural space - the farm is your neighborhood while you are here! If you simply want to get away from it all, relax in a natural setting, and try your hand at a little farm work, you'll probably find you don't need to go anywhere else during your stay. We are happy to provide recommendations for places to eat, swim and explore around the area. There are a number of natural swimming holes in creeks within a short drive of the farm, and several public and private parks with swimming beaches within a 45 minute drive. The area offers outstanding hiking options, from easy nature walks to challenging mountain scrambles.
  • We had a fantastic stay with Rachel and Eric - I highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking to get out of the city and who isn't looking to camp at an overcrowded camp ground. The site was idyllic, equipped with a fire pit, fire wood, and bbq. We woke up to birds, little wild bunnies hopping about, and heard happy clucking chickens in the fields behind us. We joined in on the volunteer tour on Saturday morning with Eric, where we harvested vegetables and got some good tips on how to sweeten our bland strawberry patch in Brooklyn - I don't think our strawberries could ever be as sweet as those we tasted here! Rachel cooked up delicious breakfasts - huevos rancheros, muffins, french toast - and our only regrets were that we didn't have more time to spend in this magical (URL HIDDEN) exaggeration! We hope to come back again this summer and actually 'hang around' for the day.

  • We had a great experience tenting at Foxtail Farm with our 2 young children. The hosts Rachel, Eric, and Malcolm were friendly and accommodating. The setting was peaceful and pleasant. We chose the option where the hosts set up a tent and bedding for us so we didn't have to pack our own or set up/take down, which made it convenient for our two night stay. They also offer interactive farm activities and farm breakfasts if you're so inclined. They have 3 possible campsites. We reserved the one closest to the shared facilities (Port-a-potty, camp kitchen, pavilion) which I think was a good choice with the kids.

  • We love this place... hopefully back soonish!

    Christine2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • This is an amazing place! The farm is so beautiful! We loved every minute we spent there! The camping has everything that you might need: bathrooms, kitchen with a camping stove, a camping coffee maker and a place to wash your hands. There are 4 separate camping places far enough from each other to give you privacy which you cannot find at any regular camping! Rachel & Eric are excellent hosts! They even supplied sleeping bags because it was cold! They gave us recommendations for swimming places and hiking trails, as well as restaurants. We are very happy with our camping experience at Rachel & Eric's place!

    Tanya2017-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Rachel is a phenomenal hostess. She responds quickly and is extremely warm and friendly. We were a group of 15 and there was plenty of room and a lot of privacy (Hard to find in most camping sites). The group really enjoyed it. Rachel made a homemade breakfast spread, and there were other additional options on the farm. The grounds were beautiful. I would highly recommend complementing the camping trip, with a nearby water/ hiking experience, such as Tannersville / Hunter /Haines Falls.

    Sholom2016-05-31T00:00:00Z
  • Rachel and Eric have an incredible farm property that is spacious, quiet and beautiful! We were a small group camping and had a great trip. They helped us move all our things to the camp site and provided helpful amenities, like a grill, stove top, and restroom. They also gave us great suggestions of places to visit in the area! If you love camping or are new to camping, I would highly recommended coming here to camp!!

    Alicia2016-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • Rachel and Eric are fanrastic. Camping at Foxtail is very straightforward, convenient and comfortable. Rachel and Eric did everything they could to make our stay enjoyable. The homemade breakfasts were delicious. Best french toast I've ever had in my life. This place is special.

    Morgan2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Camping on Foxtail Farm was an absolutely wonderful experience! The site looks exactly as pictured, the amenities exactly as described. Our group of six twenty-something city dwellers relished the opportunity to unplug from our phones and hang out around a campfire, roasting marshmallows, and looking up at the stars. Rachel was an excellent host, accommodating our late arrival due to unforeseen traffic conditions & providing us with suggestions of nearby creeks, waterfalls, and restaurants to visit. She was super attentive while still giving us our space and the site itself was also private enough to feel secluded but close enough to everything for convenience. It was only my second time camping ever & now I am hooked. I'll definitely be coming back regularly!

In the Northern Catskills, The DeWitt Oak Hill is a restored 1865 inn on the banks of the Catskill Creek, just 2.5 hours from NYC, and minutes from Hudson and the slopes. Listed on the National Register, the DeWitt is a mix of vintage and modern.
The DeWitt is an eclectic mix of vintage and modern, with an ever-changing collection of furnishings—which are all for sale. Welcome drinks upon arrival. A full gourmet, locally resourced farm to table breakfast is served each morning. Room 48, aka "The Joyce DeWitt Room", is a tongue-in-cheek homage of sorts to the character from the 70's show, Three's Company. The room overlooks the Catskill Creek just a few yards away, and is furnished with vintage furnishings, art and handcrafted pieces, as well as a few bits and pieces of Joyce DeWitt memorabilia. The bathroom is classic white subway-tile with black accents and vintage accessories; the shower has a luxury rain shower. We feature only locally-made vegetable soaps and cruelty-free shampoo and conditioners.
The tiny hamlet of Oak Hill overlooks the Catskill Mountains, the Catskill Creek winds throughout many of the gardens (including ours). Swimming holes waterfalls are within walking distance. Hiking, golfing, skiing (Windham and Hunter mountains), are within minutes of the hamlet. The famous tree-house style Yellow Deli is right next door to the inn, for natural, and yummy food. Farm stands (such as Greene Farms) are close by. Then there is the historical architecture that make Oak Hill one of the most beautiful spots in the Catskills.
  • We enjoyed our second stay at the wonderful DeWitt Oak Hill - this time over Easter Weekend just as Spring is starting to begin. Dorothee and Diane once again were amazing hosts - with wonderful suggestions on places to see and restaurants to try - we took a hike to Vroman's Nose and watched the sheep shearing at Heather Ridge Farms. Breakfasts again were a highlight and delicious - but the best part is the comfy, cozy room and atmosphere D&D have cultivated that make the DeWitt such a special place to stay. Thanks again and highly recommended to check out for a North Catskill get-away.

  • D and D’s place is a 10+ Every part of our experience was exceptional. We were warmly greeted and shown around. The bedroom was so clean and the Queen bed was really comfortable.....we miss that bed!! The home cooked breakfast with homegrown tomato was healthy and very attractively served. The sun filled kitchen and eating area was a perfect way to start the day. We will be back!! Thank you Linda and Edward

Here at Mandeville Manor, "An Adventure in Upscale Country Living," you will find 80 pristine, secluded acres within a 10 minute proximity to civilization. Boasting a spring fed pond, hiking trails, private camping with picnic area, a historical slate quarry, working fireplace, 2 decks, fire pit, WiFi, washer and dryer. 4 bedrooms with additional capacity to sleep up to 10 comfortably, making it the perfect getaway if you are seeking adventure or simply reconnecting with family and friends.
  • The house is spic and span. Having only 2 days of spare time with my friends and their kids. There seems to be an unlimited outdoors for the kids to experience on the property. They have 4 bikes for the trails but most of us walked. The lake has sunfish and bass in it (if you’re into cleaning them) - we cooked mostly indoors except for burgers on the outdoor grill. The wifi worked outside as promised and the beds were comfy. We will definitely be back for ski season - cheers to the hosts.

  • 4 of us booked Full Moon Farm last minute for a 4th of July getaway from the city. I am SO glad we did! We had such an AMAZING time/getaway and felt so relaxed the minute we got there. The house is extremely spacious with a great kitchen for cooking which we did a lot of! We also grilled, went in the hot tub at night and just stared at the blanket of stars. This place is really magical for a special retreat in the country. We went hiking nearby and experienced the beautiful waterfalls! If you need a retreat to recharge this is really it. Angelina was more than helpful with any questions and we loved the welcome personalization on the chalkboard, we felt right at home! The dog Louis, was in heaven. Loved that this place was dog friendly, he got to run, chase the ball, go on long walks, he slept more than he ever has. Thank you so much for letting us experience your wonderful, tranquil getaway. Being surrounded by nature, fireflies, beautiful flowers and hanging out with friends enjoying a glass of wine and great food, it just doesn't get any better. Thank you Angelina!

    Suzanne2016-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • From the moment we arrived there was a certain magic in the air. We arrived much later in the evening due to a last minute commitment, so we rolled in while it was dark. After unpacking the car my wife and I spent a few hours just staring at the stars! We saw 6 shooting stars and 3 satellites! There were so many stars! We slept in the bedroom with the soaking tub and the bed was nice and comfortable (some rentals have not so comfortable beds, so this was a nice bonus)! Waking up and having coffee in the hot tub while watching the various humming birds buzz around with in a few feet of us going about their daily pollination was something else we'd never experienced. The hot tub was amazing, no choline or harsh chemicals. The kitchen was a perfect space as well! We lit a fire in the back yard and used the ashes to cook our farm gathered food (veggies and meats). After visiting the local farms we had no need to go to a grocery store at all (I highly recommend this move as the food was beyond tasty)!!! We even picked up local vodka, beer and apple brandy! The whole experience was incredible! The second day it rained and we stayed in lit the fire near the kitchen and played bored games for hours listening to the rain fall. Angelina was on top of everything and available to us even though she was traveling. She was helpful and sweet! Top notch host, top notch home and experience! I recommend this to any couple, couples for a comfortable, quiet getaway in a beautiful setting!

An 1860s farmhouse that has been adapted to a modern rural lifestyle, unfussy and romantic. Located 35 minutes from the cultural hub of Hudson or skiing at Windham or Hunter.
Originally built as as a guest cottage for the larger farmhouses nearby, our home is located at the junction of O’Hara’s Corners, a beautiful farm settled in 1822. In the years following the subdivision of the farm, our house has undergone several quirky additions -- one of the many reasons it appealed to us. Serendipitously, we met the perfect people (alchemists, really), to renovate and furnish the house: Jersey Ice Cream Co. With their hand plastered walls, perfectly distressed wallpaper, exposed beams, whitewashed wood, handcrafted furniture, and vintage finds, they created a house that is both nostalgic and modern. Surrounded by ponds, rolling hills, crumbling stone walls, Shipley Garden is a place to spread out, soak in the quiet, and revel in the starry night sky. No street lights, no tv, no gimmicks - just a beautiful place to recharge and unwind.
Freehold is in the heart of Upstate New York. Located in the footholds of the Catskills, it also considered part of the Hudson Valley -- incredible antiquing and dining excursions in Hudson are only a 25 minute drive away. Given our central location, there are many directions to explore. To the south, Columbia County has many historic houses and museums to discover. If river towns are more your style, be sure to check out the towns of Catskill and Athens. Locally, less than 3 miles from our house is Ruby’s Hotel - a restaurant/gallery created by two Manhattan expats. In Freehold, the country store and deli has all the very basics, including beer. Alternatively, if you’re looking for a larger selection, head to East Durham (the same distance away) to Lawyer’s General Store for organic milk and Irish imports. A comprehensive guide to all our favorite quirky, local spots can be found at the house or we’re happy to make recommendations for you beforehand.
  • Deborah left us a lovely letter, and there were beautiful wildflower bouquets placed strategically around the house. We arrived late, and there were lights on, and there was milk, fresh eggs and beer in the refrigerator. All the necessary condiments were available to us, and she also offered us to enjoy any of her husband's favorite Gin.

You can't ask for a more well-appointed place to escape to, and a more gracious host. The communication was free-flowing, kind and charming, and from the first moment we stepped inside we felt welcome. I'll be back!

  • We had the pleasure of meeting our host Debby. She gave us the grand tour upon arrival. Her beautiful farmhouse felt like home to my family & myself immediately. The neighborhood was very peaceful, & we met the friendly young couple next door! In the mornings we sat on the front porch, coffee in hand, listening to the birds while gazing at the stunning view of the fields, trees & stonewalls. Even enjoyed a summer night's rain out on the porch! We used the projector, fire pit, & grill. Devoured the baked goods Debby left us and loved all the strategically placed floral arrangements left about the house which made it all the more special. This was the PERFECT place for us to relax & unwind in this charmingly simple decorated home, while having some quality time with our son on leave from his service in the Navy. Myself, husband, daughter, son & his girlfriend thank Debby for her great hospitality.

  • We had a wonderful experience at this lovely home! The host was extremely responsive & available to answer all questions & offered great ideas to make the most of our time. We found staples in the kitchen- fresh apples, local milk, coffee & tea - that made us feel at home. The place was just as beautiful as pictured, with lots of warm touches like candles, cozy throws & environmentally friendly products. There were pretty views from every room in the house (especially the sunroom) - perfect for admiring the fall leaves. We enjoyed a fire in the fire ring by the pond under an amazing star-filled sky. The neighborhood was quiet, some traffic noise but few people, wooded with mountains as a backdrop. We hope to go back some day!

  • Susan and Steve are the best hosts! They have a charming house that's warm and inviting. The private room that's provided is roomy and clean. The mattress is very comfortable and you get an awesome view of farmland and mountains. There is a nice fireplace that provided the perfect setting for reading a nice book curled up in one of their comfy chairs. Susan and Steve invited me to join them for dinner (they're both very much into the culinary scene, and how many hosts would go over the top like that?!). They provide full use of their kitchen should you need it. All in all a great stay with great people. Highly recommend.

  • The house was as described, very spacious and cozy. The kitchen was fantastic for a big group of us to cook in, and the charcoal grill outside was a big plus (there is also a picnic table that seats 10+ next to it). We also went to the creek nearby for a quick swim and that was about 5min walk away. Overall a great house for a big group. Thanks for hosting!

  • Perfect house for a large group, bedrooms were spacious, clean, and uncluttered... and a great bathroom to person ratio. The main communal area downstairs is great for hanging out, plenty of space to chat while your friends are cooking, or doodling at the dining table, or chilling out by the tv/fireplace. The house is also equipped with board games to pass the time, air beds for extra guests, and plenty of kitchenware for cooking. John was responsive and helpful when I had questions. The only thing to watch out for is that GPS takes you a little further than necessary, so don't miss the turn for the long, winding driveway of this place! Our large group really enjoyed staying here for a long weekend!

  • The house was absolutely amazing and so perfect for us. We had a big group of friends in town for a wedding and we all needed our own rooms and lots of bathrooms to get ready in. This place was perfect. Everything is super clean, wonderful, and had little extras like a hair dryer and iron -which we had all forgotten! The kitchen is great and perfect for cooking big meals and hanging out as a group. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to stay with a big group but still wants lots of independent space.

    Christine2015-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • The house was absolutely amazing. The photos don't do it justice- it is extremely spacious and clean. I had a joint 30th bday party at the house and my friends and I had an amazing time. Everything that we needed was at the house and John was extremely responsive and helpful. I would re-rent this house in a heartbeat, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this house to any of my friends.

    Erica2016-05-09T00:00:00Z
  • Overall: Lovely and spacious house for our family reunion! Pros: Wonderful kitchen and common area. The bedrooms were clean and comfortable. Temperature of the house was great for everyone and easy to control. Everyone loved the house and enjoyed walking the woods out back. Parking was easy and plentiful as well, but we did not have access to the garage which would have been nice when it snowed. Cons: Entertainment system here was too outdated for us to use except for cable tv. When bringing together a large group, the tv can be an easy thing for everyone to go to, but it didn't work for us. We had three people who work in IT staying with us, but none could get the Apple tv to function, nor could we hook up to the XBOX we brought to that tv or the other two small tvs in the house. The dvd player does not play Blu-ray discs which is a very minor issue, but keep this in mind if you planned on family movie night and brought some discs. It seems like the entertainment system was a very expensive at one time but unfortunately is very outdated. Built-ins are hard to keep up to date! Wifi didn't work in the far side of the house, but a stronger wifi router would easily fix that. Cell phone coverage: Sprint and Verizon users had no coverage here. This of course not the owner's fault, but that made wireless coverage around the house all the more important.

  • The listing did not have many reviews but I decided to give this a chance because from the pictures, it looked very lovely. My group and I wanted to take a weekend from the city and enjoy the Catskills, and we were very happy with the house when we got there. It was well furnished and seemed newly renovated. It had everything you needed and was very cozy and comfortable. I have to say that John did a fantastic job with making this home a warm and welcoming place to stay. He paid attention to detail when putting this house together and we were more than satisfied with the accommodations. I would highly recommend renting this place out for a weekend out of the city!

  • This vacation home is exactly as advertised and was perfect for our needs -- tons of space for everyone, both inside and out. We couldnʻt believe how big it was when we first got there -- and it was very clean. The kitchen is huge with a central island, which allowed for easy meal preparation for our large group. The kitchen, dining room and living room is one big open space which made it feel very friendly but still provided a number of separate places to sit and visit, read a book or watch t.v. The weather was warm and the air conditioning was much appreciated for those who decided to stay inside. However, our sun lovers very much enjoyed the picnic benches, lounge chairs and green field right outside the living room. It is about 40 minutes to Hudson and we enjoyed visiting that town but we were always happy to return to our own private getaway. John was a great host -- very responsive by both email and text. He also provided handy information, such as where to shop and eat locally. I definitely recommend this vacation home and would stay there again should we have the good fortune to be visiting in that area in the future.

Rare availability for fall foliage: $800 for ten days. Or, 3-day weekend 9/29-10/1 $300. Total peace and quiet, birdsong, fresh air. Clear your head, romance your sweetheart, hike or canoe, or chill on the screened porch of our sweet & updated cottage. New beadboard kitchen, new tiled bath, new windows, freshly-painted living room, fully insulated. Lovely terrace facing the back meadow, front porch for morning coffee, back porch for snoozing the afternoon away. Small pet okay.
Our sweet 1900 cottage tucked into trees, surrounded by meadows on all sides seeks peace-loving guests.Cozy, quiet, a perfect romantic weekend or retreat; sit on the front porch and watch the meadows, or try nearby hiking, canoeing, biking, skiing, antiquing. (Note: the review that says we cancelled on Jane with 2 days' notice is inaccurate. We don't do that.) Not a party house; it's an older home that needs considerate inhabitants. An adorable "dollhouse" cottage out in the country of the Catskills, 2.5 hour drive north of Manhattan. It's a country house, and with that come, sometimes, country mice, though we haven't seen them yet this summer (still no mouse evidence as of 9/21/17--we must be doing something right!) . We have plenty of cleaning supplies, and the place is so tidy it shouldn't be a problem. New fridge, newly-painted bathroom, new windows. Furnished with nice, old furniture as you'd expect in a country cottage, and a new double futon in main bedroom, new single bed in second bedroom. Cotton sheets, good pillows. New furnace (October, 2012) for oil heat. Downstairs: front porch (excellent for morning coffee; re-painted top to bottom summer 2014), dining area, kitchen, bath, big living room with pull-out queen sofa, two comfy easy chairs. Also downstairs: small bedroom with desk, chair, and single bed. Upstairs: sweetest bedroom in the world, painted a buttery off-white, with white dresser, new double futon bed, end tables. For hot nights, a screened in sleeping porch with new futon on a base. For cold nights, flannel sheets and comforters. In case you don't want to get away from all of it, there is wifi. All that is great, but the best in the spring, summers and early fall is the terrace, where we spend long evenings watching the sun go down over the meadows. Winter wonderland: we can't promise snow, but the house is about a 45 minutes drive up the mountain to the popular ski town of Windham. Cross-country skiing is about ten minutes away in Rensselearville. In winter, there's nothing like just walking on the rolling roads in the area, looking for deer and winter birds, then coming home to nestle in to the comfortable sofa in the (well-heated!) living room, or to tuck in under the down comforters on the bed.
Late summer is the time to really enjoy the Catskills. The house is surrounded by meadows on all sides; you can just see one farmhouse if you stand in the right spot. This is the real country. Watch deer in the meadows from the terrace or the front porch; walk out the front door and down the road to pass woods with pileated woodpeckers and wood thrush. Down a rolling country road, you feel you've escaped the city before you even arrive. The house is absolutely quiet, surrounded by meadows on all sides. A pleasant 45-minute drive to the hip and hopping town of Hudson, with gourmet restaurants, cafes, and world-class antiquing. A two-minute drive to a convenience store; 15-20 minutes to a good grocery store. Fresh eggs from the farm. Nearby hiking, canoeing, kayaking, flea markets, antiques.
  • My partner and I stayed here for one month during the fall while I was doing some work in the area. This charming country cottage is a perfect place for anyone looking for a base to explore New England, the Catskills, and/or central New York, etc. Also, it would be great just for a couple of nights for anyone looking for some peace and quiet and a little fresh country air. The house has great vibes, i.e. none of that haunted house feeling you sometimes get in pastoral settings. The hosts: Peter and Sara were very attentive in getting back to us with any and all questions, they were a pleasure to deal with. I would highly recommend it.

    Alex2016-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah and Peter were lovely hosts - they gave me great instructions to find the house, as well as thoughtful notes around the house once I arrived, brochures for local attractions, bug spray, toiletries, and plentiful warm blankets. I'd particularly recommend their place if you're looking for a quiet, secluded place to read or write (as I was), though I'm sure with its two porches their house would be a wonderful place to stay with friends as well.

    Elizabeth2015-05-25T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage is an absolute escape from the city. Set in the quiet countryside this quaint cottage has everything that you need. Although it was a cold Memorial Weekend once we figured out the furnace we had a cosy time. Thanks very much Sarah and Peter, we enjoyed our stay!

    Alex2013-05-30T00:00:00Z
  • What a blissful cottage. The place is perfect for cooking and hunkering down when it is cold or getting outside and kicking up the Fall leaves. The beds are comfy and the home feels distinct to its history and you get to feel a part of that staying here. The road is quiet and the views of the hills, meadows and forest are beautiful. The building is pretty old so don't come expecting perfect insulation and a powerful heating system in the winter, there is heating but it will keep the edge off and you may choose to wear a hat. I imagine in the summer it is perfect with a light breeze with the windows on both sides of the house open.

    Christopher2016-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely, quiet, clean, very nice people to rent from. Lots of books! A lovely view. Sarah also left fresh cut flowers, as well as clean towels and pamphlets of local shops and attractions.

  • NIce little house in a beautiful spot!

    Kevin2013-05-10T00:00:00Z
  • We were married in Rensselaerville on Saturday, August 25, and needed a place to stay for the week leading up to the wedding where we could work a bit as needed but also unwind, relax, and get ready. This cottage is exactly as described in the title: Absolute Peace! Each morning the sun rose over the screened-in porch and we relaxed there with our cat and French-pressed coffee, listening to the birds and watching the light magically shift over the trees and fields. One night we took hot chocolate outside under the stars, which were plentiful - also perfection, not even too buggy. Inside, the house was actually quite spacious despite being only 1 bed / 1 bath - lots of nooks to work in, GREAT kitchen with picture window, cozy and extremely comfortable sleeping situation (certainly one of the best futons I've ever experienced). Most importantly, Sarah and Peter were so laid back, flexible and friendly. They left very clear and helpful instructions and offered excellent advice. We would stay here again in a heartbeat, though I'm afraid we'll have little opportunity since typically we have my grandparents' large house available in R'ville. NOTE: There is absolutely no cell phone service here or in a 1-2 mile radius. We considered this a good thing. Also, the Yellow Deli at the bottom of the hill in Oak Hill has delicious food although some slightly off-putting bathroom wallpaper.

    Rebecca2012-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Sarah and Peter's quiet country home. It's cozy, lovely and in a beautiful location upstate. We can't wait to go back!

5-acre campground at the center of our working organic farm in the Great Northern Catskills is a unique natural setting for your large group get-away. More than just a place to camp, your visit offers you an authentic farm stay experience. Rental of the entire campground gives you exclusive use of all of our individual camping sites, along with the central campground area. Please submit an inquiry to verify availability (we cannot immediately sync calendar with individual sites)
Welcome to Foxtail Community Farm! A working family farm, we raise vegetables, fruit, flowers, herbs, chickens, & turkeys using sustainable growing practices. (I am not able to list our website here, but if you want to see what we are about look us up on-line: the full farm name, then a dot, then the three letters that come after the dot.) The campground is a secluded, natural area of the farm surrounded by 50+ acres of woods, meadow, farm fields, and a spring-fed pond. It includes four individual designated campsites: two with furnished glamping tents, the other two for you to pitch-your-own tents (see individual site listings: https://www.airbnb.com/users/3345227/listings). Natural beauty and wildlife abound - fall asleep to the hooting of owls and chirping of crickets, wake to the songs of bluebirds and scent of wild honeysuckle. We're far from any city lights, making for brilliant stargazing. Rental of the full campground gives you exclusive use of all four sites as well as the shared central campground area. Each of the four designated sites has its own outdoor campfire pit, picnic table, and charcoal grill. The four sites and adjacent cleared areas of the campground have room for quite a few tents to accommodate your group. The shared central campground area includes a port-a-potty, handwashing area, and a small camp kitchen with propane camping stove, coffeemaker and basic cookware. Enjoy games of horseshoes, badminton, bocce, wiffle ball and a whirl on our giant tractor-tire swing! The campground is rustic and off-the-grid, which is part of the draw and enjoyment. There is no running water, no electricity or wi-fi, and cell phone service may be spotty. We provide potable water in jugs at each site, and you can refill water containers from the sink in the farm yard, ~1/4 mile walk from campground. No private vehicles are allowed in the campground. It's a beautiful, natural space with a secluded and intimate feel. If you are looking for a place to plug in your RV, crank up your music, or take long hot showers, this isn't a good choice for you. If you are looking to unplug, relax, & reconnect in a natural setting, with the opportunity to participate in farm activities, we invite you to stay!
The campground is surrounded entirely by natural and agricultural space - the farm is your neighborhood while you are here! If you simply want to get away from it all, relax in a natural setting, and try your hand at a little farm work, you'll probably find you don't need to go anywhere else during your stay.
  • We rented out the whole place and had a camping party. Beautiful surroundings, delicious food for dinner & breakfast and warm hospitality. Outside of our camping stuff we didn't have to pack much so a perfect quick weekend getaway. Many thanks to Rachel and Eric for another great stay.

  • Our group of 4 families just returned from an amazing weekend at this lovely private campground. We rented the whole place and it was perfect for our crew of rowdy kids (ages 2-6) to run around. Rachel was incredibly responsive in the weeks leading up to the trip, and coordinated a great dinner box for us with their farm-raised chickens and veggies. The campground is beautifully set up, with many thoughtful touches that make it a wonderful place to enjoy being outside. Eric did a big bonfire for us one night, and the kids got to go on a wagon ride and join in farm chores in the morning. They have great suggestions for things to do in the area and the setting is just perfect. We can't wait to come back next year!

Stay in this beautiful historic house, which is on the Historic House Registry and sits on 25 acres of property. This 4 bedroom 2 bathroom home is brand new to the rental market, however, owners are quite experienced in the rental business.
This unique farmhouse has wonderful historic charm combined with modern living.
Enjoy the peacefulness and nature in this property. With 25 acres to wonder you will love the connection with nature.
  • The house was the perfect size for 10 people. Nice rustic but modern feel, has an awesome backyard with pool also access to the woods for a little hike that leads to a creek. Jessica was very communicative, helpful and an accommodating host. Would definitely stay here again when we need a getaway from the city! Overall very nice.

  • The home is beautiful and beds are incredibly comfortable! We love to cook and it was easy to shop and find great farmers markets. The house is across the street from a beautiful horse farm. Jessica was very helpful and her communication was quick and helpful. We loved our stay! I just suggest bringing a few extra things if you are staying with a large group and are foodies:) She has a large farm table which was amazing to have great dinners and breakfast! The side deck is an amazing view of the mountains and sun! Exactly what you are looking for when you are upstate! The pool was great and served it's purpose! Night time was amazing-fireflies and all creatures and sounds! The moon was beautiful and perfect for viewing while sitting on the front porch! The interior was all renovated and very stylish-as well as comfortable! Best sleep I have had in a very long time :)

  • Great, comfortable house for two families. Super comfortable beds, big kitchen, lots of space to explore outside. Would definitely return.

    Rachel2017-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • This house, the location and everything about it was a dream come true! We were a group of 9 people staying for 4 days/3 nights celebrating the end of summer and a friend's birthday and had more than enough space and everything we could ask for available to us at the house. Jessica was incredibly easy to coordinate with and communicative when we needed her - quickly answering any questions we had and making the whole trip a breeze! The property was amazing, sitting across from a horse farm (who were also so friendly and inviting!) with an expansive lawn and neighborhood that was great for spending time outdoors. The nearby town had everything we needed and was easily accessible for last minute trips to the store. Nights were breezy, quiet and the beds were incredibly comfortable giving everyone the perfect night's sleep. The pool was clean, and the pool area was perfect for hanging out all day with the dogs. Would recommend this house to anyone looking for a beautiful, relaxing, fun and stress-free weekend! (PS - there were also a TON of pool floats at the house when we got there - which was the best surprise ever! We left a few of our own to pay it forward for future guests!)

  • Just returned from a great weekend getaway. There was plenty of room for our group of ten. Jessica was a great host -- quick to respond and kind. A beautiful property that we'd definitely consider for a future trip!

  • This house was even better than the photos! We had such a comfortable, relaxing stay and would come back again in a heartbeat. Jessica was also super communicative and accommodating.

    Elisabeth2017-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • This home was awesome! The kitchen area was awesome with a beautiful long picnic table that we ate at every evening. Unfortunately it was quite cold and rainy the weekend we were up there so we didn't get to enjoy the pool but this is a nice perk too. Would recommend for large groups that are looking for a quiet weekend away! Jessica was easy to communicate with and got back to me quickly with any questions I emailed or texted her with which I really appreciated.

  • James' house is beautifully situated and appointed for a restorative and enjoyable get away. It lacks nothing in terms of comfort and amenities. It is very privately situated and a pleasant 12 minute drive to E. Durham where our activities were. The community itself is removed from major shopping so make sure you come with the things you need for your stay for your convenience. There are reasonable stores for items like toothpaste or milk, e.g. James was an accommodating, caring, responsive, and gracious host with a helpful team. It is a happy place. My teen sons and I are very glad we chose to stay at James'. We would recommend it highly to family and friends. We would love to return.

The house is very cozy and the view is absolutely magical with its panorama of mountains, pond and forest. It is a very secluded house as you cannot see any neighbors. Only nature, water and sky. Beautiful swimming pool in summer.

  • My friends and I had a great time during our weekend at Nadine's Chalet. The views were unbelievably beautiful and the house felt completely isolated, though we were only a ten minute drive from town. When we had a bit of trouble finding the place we were able to reach her over the phone and she easily directed us. I hope we are able to go back some day and I definitely would recommend the property to anyone looking for a perfect weekend trip.

  • I would not rent from Nadine again. The home listed as (content hidden), Cairo, NY is physically located at (content hidden) and difficult to find. It did not have continuous running water. She was aware of a pre-existing water situation. My family and I did not stay the second night. An escalation to Airbnb was needed as Nadine and I could not reach a compromise. Airbnb was generous as it credited me their commission fee. It was over a week before Nadine deposited less than what I had requested as my compromised amount.

  • We wanted to get away from it all and we certainly did. We were two families with our 3 and 6 year old kids. The kids had a blast with the swing on the porch and running around gathering leaves. The views are truly amazing. The house is functional, although the layout was not very convenient for our needs. The two bedrooms downstairs were fine. The playroom for kids upstairs is also a bedroom. Our kids were too little to just sleep there on their own though. The loft with the king size mattress is not a true bedroom, as it doesn't have walls. But all in all it served our needs.

Welcome to Foxtail Community Farm! A working family farm, we raise vegetables, fruit, flowers, herbs, chickens, & turkeys using sustainable growing practices. Our camp sites are surrounded by 50+ acres of woods, meadow, farm fields and a spring-fed pond. Natural beauty and wildlife abound - fall asleep to the hooting of owls and chirping of crickets, wake to the clucking of hens and scent of wild honeysuckle. We're far from any city lights, making for brilliant stargazing. The Beech Grove site is set back in the woods near our main farm field, about 1/3 mile walk-in from the check-in/parking area. It features a 12x14 cabin-style canvas tent on a platform with a small deck outside the tent door. Inside the tent is a full-sized futon bed with cotton bedding and natural wool mattress topper for added comfort. There is room to add two folding cots or camping pads on the floor of the tent (bring your own or rent from us). This is a new site and is still a work in progress - we plan to add more furnishings and decor over time, for now the furnishings are sparse but functional & comfortable. This site is ideal for couples, families or a small group of friends, with a maximum of four adult guests. Because of all the trees enclosing this site, there is not room to set up a second tent in the site. We provide: - All bedding for the full-sized bed in the tent - 5 gallon jug of drinking water at your site - Simple portable hanging camp shower bag (you fill & hang in your site) - Two solar-powered camping lanterns - One stack of firewood per night (extra may be purchased from us) - Dishes & utensils for two - including a corkscrew! • The property and airbnb is well run. They have it very organized from check in, to buying food from their farm stand to going on tours. The farm is super cool and the glamping experience is both private and social. The tent areas are very private but there's a area in the center with a community kitchen, community seating, volleyball net and just relaxation. The tents are well done. They are on a platform, have netting to keep bugs out and the bed is comfortable and warm. They even give you fire for your personal campfire. The kitchen in the common area is a little small but doable. They have a grill and some pots but I recommend bringing your own so you have everything you need and it's well cleaned (the kitchen stuff is still exposed to the elements bc it's a farm stay/campground). Overall, relaxing and fun experience! Def want to come back!

  • We had a wonderful time staying with Eric and Rachel on their lovely farm! Rachel and Eric were incredibly welcoming and generous with their time, in helping us get settled. Check-in was super easy, and we enjoyed being able to pick up some snacks and supplies at the farm stand upon arrival. Rachel very kindly took the time to put together a dinner basket for us, which we grilled on site that evening, and had ready helpful directions to some really fun swimming areas and trails close by. The tent was perfect -- super comfortable and cutely decorated, and equipped with everything we needed: clean and comfy bedding, lanterns, picnic table, grill, fire pit. We are campers, but it was really nice to not have to worry about setting up camp, and sleeping in the tent felt more like sleeping in a cabin. It was perfect for us. In the morning, we enjoyed an amazing farm breakfast courtesy of Rachel again! And we had a great time helping Eric with their CSA harvest. One of us is an experienced farmer and the other is not, and Eric patiently explained and demonstrated how to harvest various fruits and vegetables. He made the whole experience really fun and educational. It was very rewarding, in every way. We cannot wait to return, to visit Eric and Rachel and their lovely family again and to continue to learn about farm life!!!

  • Was definitely a great trip. Super convenient to check in / check out, lots of parking, great spacious living room space for a weekend get away with friends, and 20 min to Hunter/Windham for skiing which is pretty decent. Great trip overall and lots of bed space.

  • My friends and I stayed at William's property this past weekend to celebrate my 31st birthday, and we had an absolutely wonderful time. The property is beautiful - we loved exploring the woods and playing in the river at the end of the property. The house was quite comfortable for all of us, the kitchen is big and bright and the fireplace in the living room was amazing. The beds are comfortable and it was all in all a great weekend escape from the city!

  • William was easy to work with and his pictures accurately reflect the sweet, cozy, comfortable house he's offering. We had a great time and the place and property is perfect for adventuresome children who like exploring woods and creeks (mine are 7 and 9).

This farmhouse was built by revolutionary soldier, John Bagley, whose farm once covered hundreds of acres in the area. This historic post and beam home is comfortably decorated in an eclectic mix of vintage and mid-century furnishings.
The ground floor of this house has a roomy living room with a mid-century modern Morso wood stove, plus a TV and dvd player; a charming dining room, a laundry room, and a luxury bathroom which was recently renovated using reclaimed wood from the original kings boards of the house. A fully equipped chefs kitchen with a Bertazzoni range and Sub-Zero refrigerator also has a spot with a mid-century table and chairs where you can sip your coffee or tea. Upstairs, you will find floorboards wider than you've ever seen before . The bathroom has a claw foot tub to soak in. There is a library with a comfy chaise to get away and read or snooze. Additionally, there is a bedroom with two single beds that is also available for rental.
Views of Windham High Peak... laying in the hammock pond-side, reading a book. Discover local farm-stands and cafe's or tea rooms with English and Irish treats. This is farm country. So if you want lots of fancy amenities such as restaurants and shops within five minutes drive, then this isn't the area for you. But if you enjoy soaking in the silence... or having a long chat over a glass of wine around the fire-pit, then keep reading... Our home is surrounded by trees, opposite a large meadow, so we have beautiful unobstructed views of the countryside. You can enjoy similar views as the family who built this home more than 200 years ago! The house is twenty minutes away from Windham and thirty minutes from Hunter - both boast great ski slopes and restaurants. The cute town of Hudson - with antique shops, boutiques and world-class restaurants is only thirty minutes away. And then there is the gorgeous outdoors that we adore! The Catskills has hiking trails, waterfalls, swimming holes (we will share our secret one), caves, a water park (five minutes away), golfing - and all of the history you want!! And if you fancy a little whimsy, the Irish pubs and resorts are close by, as are the German resorts - where you will feel like you stepped back in time!
  • This is a fantastic little get away for anyone looking for some solitude in Rip Van Winkle Country. The house is gorgeously decorated and my room was really comfortable. Diane is a great host and I'd recommend this place to anyone.

  • Diane's Farmhouse is a quaint, charming and cozy oasis tucked in the hills of Northern New York ski country. Diane's historic home, with its wide plank floors, rustic appeal, roaring fireplace and beautiful grounds will transport you to a different time and place. Breakfast was wonderful, Diane's knowledge of the local spots is superior and Diane also has three cute tail wagging pooches who will help make you feel right at home. If you are in the region, visit Diane...But, bring an extra outfit or two...you may just decide to stay longer!
