  • There is no doubt that the Bothy is basic but we knew that when we booked it; it was for the experience, which was like camping but with a charming stone building and a wood-burner instead of a tent. We went while Jenny was away so we didn't get to use the house/shower but we knew that and it was fine; there is a sink and running water. There is a pub adjacent but it does not serve food (or decent lager. Or any wine!) and I don't get the feeling it will last much longer. We had a great night there though - Western Night with karaoke! There are no other establishments in walking distance despite what you might read! Despite low expectations we were still a bit taken aback by the Bothy's lack of bed; you have a sort of fouton about three inches off the floor and it is Hard! We could not have managed two nights on that. The compost toilet is a bucket in a shed which might not surprise more seasoned campers but it took us a while to get over. The door to the Bothy sticks noisily so it is impossible to go for a nocturnal pee or sh*t in a bucket without disturbing your partner. BUT....there was nothing misleading about any of the listing details. We wanted a different experience and were perhaps slightly naive - that's why I am spelling it out clearly. We had a great time and the area is beautiful and peaceful. If it had a more comfortable 'bed' I would do it again. As it is, maybe not but for cyclists and walkers this is a perfect stop for the night.

  • Nice place to stay. Easy travel to Mold, Chester etc. Jenny very welcoming and space very cosy. Certainly would use again

  • Such a quiet and peaceful location with a fabulous view. What a fantastic place. Jenny met us on arrival and although she was telling me about the accommodation, all I could do was look at the view. Such a fab location. Jenny was very friendly and welcoming and explained everything very clearly and then left us to it for the weekend. I would definitely stay here again as it's in a great place to go explore north Wales. If you haven't stayed here yet you need to can't say much more than that. Thanks jenny!

  • We had a lovely stay in the bothy. We only stayed for one night, on our way from London to the Lake District. It was a perfect pit stop! Cosy and warm. The sofa bed was surprisingly comfy and it was a quiet stay. There is a pub nearby, where we had a very tasty dinner and joined in with "karaoke night". It also provides parking. Jenny was lovely and welcoming. The place was exactly as advertised, we would definitely stay again if we were travelling that way again .

    Jason2015-04-12T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely lovely place! Perfect for anyone who wants some time away from city life. Jenny made us feel very welcome and was very kind to us.

    mai2015-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • The bothy was a real treat to stay in. Jenny was really nice and friendly and met us to give over the key. My traveling companion and I really liked how small and cosy it was and managed to get a great fire going in the little stove that kept us warm quite nicely. Lots of power points of electronics and nice hot water. There were 2 extra heaters which made the bothy even more cosy. Though it's situated right next to the local pub, the noise wasn't too bad and we could barely hear anything the entire night. If I were in this part of the world again, I would see if the bothy was available to stay in.

    Charissa2014-06-08T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely cosy place, very much enjoyed our stay. Jenny's partner greeted us when we arrived, and everything was catered for - including extra wood that we asked for! The bothy was everything that we expected, a lovely place to come back to in the evenings. There are nice walks in the surrounding area, and we enjoyed exploring sights around Flintshire. Very impressed, we'd love to visit again in the future!

  • What a special little place! Simple and cosy just as described, with beautiful views, a lovely atmosphere and friendly and thoughtful host Jenny. I had a wonderfully relaxing 2 days and could have lived there for months! Thank you Jenny.

  • A wonderful stay in an excellent location. Charlie was a great host & made us feel very welcome. A good value stay & the hot tub is definitely worth it!

  • Great location with good walks on the doorstep and right next to historic castle ruins. Easy walk into town (although it is fairly steep). Staircases in the house are very steep so you need to take care with small children.

  • A wonderful secluded cottage on three levels, with lovely private garden. Situated 200m from the exquisite Castle house, where the hosts reside and run a B & B. Charlie and Angie were the perfect hosts and attended to our every need, including accommodating additional family members at short notice. Set in beautiful gardens surrounding the 12th century castle with spectacular views over Denbigh and the valley. Within easy walking distance of the ancient market town of Denbigh and surrounding woods. A haven for dog walkers with paths throughout. The cottage is 5 star, not even counting the hot tub, and the host's house is 7 star! Thoroughly recommended.

  • Beautiful quirky little cottage in a very quiet location with views of the surrounding hills. Best view I've ever had while washing up! All of the beds were really comfy and the whole place was lovely and clean. Angie had left tea, coffee, milk and biscuits for when we arrived which was a nice touch. Angie and Charlie were really welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. The garden is a sun trap and we enjoyed the hot tub, so bring a swimming costume! Basically, we loved our 4 night stay here and would happily go back.

  • David & Menai were brilliant there to offer help or advice if needed. All the things you need after a long journey were available. Milk for a cuppa, comfy sofa, and Denbigh, the local town about a 5-7 min drive away. Everything worked as it should, the views were spectacular and opening the bedroom doors onto the Juliet balcony on the first morning, sun beaming in and the peace and quiet of the rolling hills was easily our favourite moment of the whole trip. A particular talking point on the long journey back was the comfy bed. We now have to upgrade ours. Sorry bank account! Josh and Bethan

  • Brilliant speedy communication. We were shown around even though we didn't arrive until late in the evening. Very cosy and comfortable. We had everything we needed and a great location for exploring a beautiful area of Wales. It was wonderful sitting having a cuppa in bed with the French doors open looking out to Snowdonia and listening to the birds. Wish we'd had more time there.

  • Tuolumne Cottage is by far the best Airbnb accomadation we have stayed in. We planned to stay for 2 nights whilst attending a wedding close by but ended up staying 3 :) The views are truly stunning and the cottage is beautifully furnished with the most comfortable beds. The whole place is extremely clean, well equipped and full of little extras and suprises. Such a tranquil retreat with the most accommodating hosts. We can not thank you enough for your generosity & kindness.

  • What a lovely place to stay, so quiet and scenic it made my week working away such a relaxing experience. Every detail is thought out right through the place from a well equipped kitchen to comfortable sofas to BBQ and seating area outside. Bedroom is spacious and very comfortable in every way and the bathroom has all you would need. All this is tipped off with tea, coffee, fresh eggs, hot chocolate and marshmallows. Hosts are also very friendly and lovely to chat with about anything you want really.

  • Lovely cottage, didn't want for a thing. Beautiful flower garden and amazing countryside. Thank you for a great stay.

    Lucy2017-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great home from home which was perfectly located for our stay (Chester Zoo and Zip World - both highly recommended) . Everything about this cottage has been well thought out and we loved the rain shower, the Murphy bed and being woken by the resident sheep! The fresh eggs were yummy as was the homemade preserves! And don't let the small kitchen space fool you, it has everything you'll need, and more! Jackie was a great host from the moment we arrived and we'd definitely give her and her cottage 5*

    Gemms2017-04-03T00:00:00Z
  • Jackie and her Dad, Les were very helpful and accommodating. The cottage is absolutely beautiful, all modern but very homey and comfortable with lots of personal touches to make your stay enjoyable. The surrounding Welsh countryside is of course very beautiful and there are lots of walking trails nearby. You must drive to nearby Denbigh for groceries and services but it is not far. We recommend Tuolumne cottage highly and hope to return for another visit someday.

    Lydia2017-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • Well equipped cottage in an idyllic location with beautiful views. Jackie was a great host and hope to be back soon!

    Jessica2017-03-27T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage is amazing and Jackie is an awesome host. The place is roomy, warm and welcoming. It's located in a secluded place (but easy to reach and close to all amenities - car needed though) which is perfect is you want to relax and discover the region. It's not too far from Snowdon which is perfect if you're into hiking or simply sightseeing. The cottage really feels like home - spacious, cosy and with everthing you need whether you just want to stay indoor or move around to discover the country. Plus you get to play with Jackie's lovely dogs and her cat - even after a long tiring day of hiking, trekking or else you'll just want to spend 10-15 minutes with them. Definitely recommend staying there and would definitely book again.

Within the beautiful Vale Of Clwyd, Buarth Mawr is a rural barn conversion set in 14 acres where we breed Welsh Mountain ponies. We offer a large double bedroom in our family home, with its own shower room. A 2nd room is available, separately listed
The barns date back to the 17th century and have been sympathetically converted retaining many of their original features including wooden beams and traditional stonework. The garden room is at ground floor level and has its own conservatory with access straight into the garden. A shower room is located across the corridor. We can offer stabling by arrangement.
Buarth Mawr is located within the beautiful Vale of Clwyd and surrounded by its own land. The local pub which also serves food is down the hill in Llanrhaedar. The nearest towns are Denbigh and the medieval market town of Ruthin where you'll find numerous pubs, cafes, restaurant and places of historical interest including the Castle and old gaol. A little further afield you'll find Chester (45 mins), Llangollen (45 mins), Conwy (40 mins), and Anglesey (60 mins). We are approximately 30 minutes from the nearest beach. We are located approximately 3 miles from the town of Denbigh and 6 miles from Ruthin. The area is excellent for walking, cycling and horseriding
  • Very secluded and comfortable accommodation that can either be private or you can join in with David and Rosie who are very good hosts. 7 mins drive to Brookhouse Pottery at Denbigh. Beautiful location and area.

  • Rosie was so welcomming and friendly on arrival. We were running late making the most of the weather and Snowdon and she didnt mind one bit. She kept in contact and asked any questions we had were answered. She even went to the trouble of leaving milk for us! It was absolute bliss to stay here and would stay again.

  • Rosie's home is beautiful the room large and comfortable with our own fluffy robes and glass conservatory. Both Rosie and her dad David were very accommodating and friendly. Wish we could have stayed longer.

    Kim2016-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • This is one superb AIRBNB! Maybe we are just lucky? Rosie and her dad are fine hosts at an amazing secluded spot in Wales. When we used her excellent directions, although a bit challenging to reach, we made it easily. This is a pony farm. The house is old but modernized. In fact, Rosie's kitchen would be the envy of many an American chef. The room for us was spacious and included a sun room for the rather limited sun on our visit. Clean, spacious, special. What more does one need?

    Rich2016-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • Very welcoming on my late arrival and most hospitable thereafter. Comfortable peaceful room and conservatory in beautiful surroundings, wished I could have taken a pony home. Many thanks for a lovely stay.

  • A beautiful spacious house with equally beautiful garden. Location was in a rural part of north Wales but was perfect for us as we were attending a wedding in a venue nearby. Still in good distance to Conwy (amazing castle!) And other areas of north Wales. The local roads are very narrow however the directions provided were very accurate, easy to follow and twinned with SAT NAV, it was easy to find the house. Prior communication from Gill was great and waiting for us was a guide book to the house and local area.

  • We received a warm welcome on arrival to this wonderful home , which is set on a steep hillside with amazing views! The house was beautifully clean and had everything we needed for our stay. Even with 6 adults in our party we had loads of space to relax in, together and separately. We enjoyed the large kitchen, cooking and eating together with ease. The garden is nicely planted and is incredibly peaceful, with lots of seating options if the weather is nice! The view from the property is beautiful. We took the footpaths near the house for some enjoyable walks, and the coast and other attractions are a short drive away. A really lovely home to stay in :-)

Stylishly converted stone milking shed with private hot tub! Nestled in the grounds of a Georgian country home, located in a stunning Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with all its adventures: - an incredible mixture of gorgeous views, self-indulgent soaking in the tub, adrenaline action and snuggling up in the cottage. Great for couples and solo adventurers seeking fun, relaxation & a little luxury.
Seeking some self-indulgent luxury in the countryside? Stunning location partnered with little luxuries like super-soft robes and slippers, big comfy feather pillows and alpaca throw, crisp linen and feather & down duvet ....The super kingsize bed is pure bliss! The kitchen has a wonderful double fold back window so you can sit at the coffee bar and breathe in the inspiring views....or pass that special mocktail to your partner soaking in the swirling hot water! And afterwards the ensuite heated shower room has a double shower enclosure with multi flow head for those long steamy showers. Your own private spa mini-break! And when you book The Hideaway you get exclusive use of all the outdoor facilities (and we never book guests in the adjoining unit - so you get all the peace and privacy you seek!) Gorgeous location and views, big outdoor entertaining area with sprawling seating to relax in the sunshine....or sit and toast marshmallows over the fire pit. Local country pub just a few hundred metres walk across the fields, proud of its reputation for generous meals and friendly atmosphere. And lots to do in the area - take a few tiny steps to the tub or stride directly from your door onto some of the most beautiful country walks in Wales. We send guests our information booklet which includes the best local restaurants, fun things to do, and special sights only locals know about! Or do just nothing at all except enjoy the country freshness, laze in the courtyard or watch a movie (eclectic collection of movies provided... or bring your own favourites!). Feels so calm & relaxing yet located only 30min from Chester, an hours drive from Manchester/Liverpool, Huddersfield 90min, 2.5 hours by train from London. Please Note: if you book The Hideaway, the adjoining accommodation will NOT be occupied and you will have exclusive use of ALL the facilities!
Not far from the tiny 'city' of St Asaph is our little village with its country pub (just a few hundred metres walk across the fields), school and ancient church. The outlook into the Vale of Clwyd is stunning and from this property you will have gorgeous rural views, the North Wales coastline and even the snowy peak of Snowdon. No wonder this is officially designated 'An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty'. Our visitors are often entranced as they drive through the main gates and see the outlook for the first time! Best of all we are just 2.4 miles from the A55 so access to all that Denbighshire and North Wales has to offer is easily accessible, whether it be the mountains of Snowdonia National Park, the wild coastline, the adrenaline pumping zip lines, the historical sites or the ancient walled City of Chester.
  • Perfect spot to have a lovely getaway. Great host always available if we had any questions. Would highly recommend staying here and will surely be returning at some point!

  • Amazing venue in a relaxing location which is easily accessible. Thomas is a great host, even gave us some freshly baked bread on arrival. The cottage has all the facilities needed for a break away, the hot tub is amazing for those lazy afternoons and late evenings. Highly recommended and we shall hopefully return in the future.

  • We had a great weekend stay in The Hideaway, can't think of anything that would have made it better. The setting was great, we went for a walk the first evening, stopped in at the local pub for a drink and came back to some freshly baked bread and dip waiting for us, still a bit warm. The hot tub was perfect, especially after climbing snowdon on a pretty wet day! Everything was clean, well laid out, we cooked the first evening and the kitchen was well equipped. Ended perfectly with a parting gift of some chocolate from Thomas. A perfect weekend away! Thank you, we will be back I'm sure!

  • We chose to stay at The Hideaway over the Easter weekend and had an absolutely brilliant stay. Prior to arrival we received a welcome pack and lots of information via email. On arrival we were greeted by the very friendly Thomas, who was a great host. Thomas gave us a quick tour of the place; he has several cottages which all looked lovely. The Hideaway Cottage which we chose to stay in was clean and fitted with the country theme. The views around the cottages are spectacular, and even better admired from the hot tub! The place was so peaceful, all you can hear is animal noises which makes a great change from car horns. Thomas went above and beyond to make our stay special, homemade fresh bread was there for us on arrival, with some homemade fresh scones given to us a few days later. Thomas also suggested the best walks to go on, the best pubs to visit etc. and all his advice was spot on. We will definitely be returning and will be recommending to family and friends. Perfect for a quiet break away from the city. Thanks for a great weekend away!

  • My boyfriend and I stayed at The Hideaway for my 33rd birthday and we honestly couldn't recommend this place enough!! The Hideaway is a perfect little romantic accommodation for couples looking for a getaway!! Surrounded by stunning Welsh countryside, the location is so perfect.. coming from two people who live busy lifestyles in Birmingham, it was so relaxing to be able sit outside and enjoy the peace and quiet!! The accommodation itself was so special.. full of luxurious surprises such as cosy dressing gowns, chocolates and one of the most comfiest beds I've ever slept in!! Of course the hot tub was one of our favourite things at The Hideaway especially at night when the outside of the accommodation is lit up by fairy lights!! Thomas is awesome!! He was so helpful when recommending things to do and places to eat and was a really lovely and friendly person. After just a few days of being back home we are already planning our next stay at The Hideaway!! Thank you Thomas for having us.. :)

  • The Hideaway is the perfect place to spend a romantic and quiet few days away from the city. Thomas is such a wonderful host and the accommodation was all that was promised and more. We will certainly be back! And do order some baked goods from San; they're delicious!

My place is close to beautiful countryside. Well not close to, right in it. There is forestry commission to one side and open hillside the other. . You’ll love my place because of the walking, challenging road cycling, mountain biking and just to get away from it all.. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and families (with kids).
Stunning views from a lovely caravan situated in its own private paddock.
As well as the beautiful Clywdians, you are close to the historic towns of Denbigh and Ruthin, not far from the shopping of Chester, close to the Welsh coast and surrounded by great attractions, for example: - Europe's longest longest zip wire - Llandegla mountain biking centre - Bala lake for water sports and the surround for white water rafting - Horse riding
  • Had a wonderfull few days, with beautiful surroundings. Pat was a very friendly host, who had thought of everything to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. Thank you very much and we both look forward to returning. Donna and Shaun.

  • Fab caravan in a fantastic scenic location. Loads of little, well thought out, touches like bacon and eggs, milk, bread etc. Great hosts, staying up for our very late arrival and drawing maps to our wedding venue etc. Cracking walk in the sunshine up the bridleway and treasure hunting through the forests. Suited our family of 6 perfectly and breakfast in the sunshine on the deck was just lovely. Very rural, very scenic and very good value. Many thanks for your hospitality Pat and nice to meet you.

  • This caravan was set in a very peaceful and relaxing environment and felt like pure escapism. I woke up listening to the birds chirping and the verandah off the caravan had a beautiful outlook to sit and ponder. The caravan itself was exceptionally clean and quite comfortable. Pat was very accomadating and super friendly on arrival and gave us all the information we needed to function the caravan. Pat was only down the way if we required anything further. There was beautiful local cured bacon and eggs, fruit , bread, milk and juice provided plus a well equipped kitchen. Thank you to Pat especially and Natalie.

  • This secluded place is a perfect choice for a quiet family holiday. Superb views of the Welsh hills and forests offering plenty interesting walks and very quiet. The location is really good to reach Snowdon and also coast - best castles and beaches all about 1hr drive from this accommodation. The caravan is spacious - certainly enough for our family of 5, very clean and very well maintained. Pat is a wonderful host, extremely helpful, very kind. Thank you for welcoming eggs, bacon and milk and thank you for a lovely stay. We will be back!

  • My family and dogs had a fabulous couple of days here. On arrival you are met by Pat, who is an amazing host and shown around her immaculate caravan. Pat also provides you with the essentials of bread, butter, bacon, eggs, milk, cereals and fresh flowers to get you started. There are numerous walks right on your doorstep in this area of outstanding natural beauty and the area is definitely that "outstanding and beautiful". We thoroughly enjoyed our walks up Moel Arthur and Offahs Dyke. Plenty of pubs some of which allow dogs in specific areas, however most are closed on a Monday. This was a spur of the moment break and next time we will plan ahead for longer walks and pub lunch/dinners. We will definitely be back. Thank you Pat x

  • This is a lovely location in a quiet valley just above the Vale of Clwyd in an AONB. Pat was there on arrival and could not have been more helpful. The accommodation is spacious and easily suits 6 people (the sofa bed in the sitting room sleeps two). There was a supply of cereals, bacon, eggs, bread and milk. The bacon was from the local area and the eggs organic and probably local as well. The caravan is situated just above the road and was quiet and peaceful with plenty of space for parking the cars. There is a view down and up the valley and a lovely deck which is a real sun trap and great for dining in the summer. We walked out from the caravan in the morning up onto Offa's Dyke footpath. There is a huge range of walking right from the front door. We also visited the town of Denbigh, walked the town walls and visited the castle. There is so much to do in this area especially if you like the out doors. We will be back for another visit soon.

  • A very comfortable and pleasant "cottage" (it's attached to other buildings, but completely separate and private). Well-equipped kitchen--complete with a washing machine, which was a terrific bonus. It was an excellent place to plop down for a while and explore the countryside. Within walking distance to one of the best inn/restaurant/pubs for food that we found in our entire stay in Wales: The Drover's Inn. Don't miss it! Though it may have been the fault of our i-phones, internet connectivity was a distinct problem. However, we were quite satisfied and pleased with our stay. Nancy Kluck and Will Rhys

Internet in every room, along with Sky TV. Locally there isn’t a lot other than an incredible pub called the White Horse. Lucy who runs the pub with her husband is a delight & the food is cracking. A must. All in all a great spot...

Clean, modern and spacious bungalow, With great garden and ample parking. Set in a quaint rural village deep in the North Wales countryside. Great local pub and village shop. Amazing for walkers and cyclists. Friendly and safe neighbourhood.
  • A wonderful stay at Anne's place. We were pleasantly surprised at how neat and clean the bungalow was. Thanks for the jammie dodgers and crisps (the boys thoroughly enjoyed them !) The beds were extremely comfortable and slept like a logs every night. A tranquil place to stay with all of the amenities of home. Overall a wonderful stay and highly recommended no matter how high your expectations may be.

  • Cottage was lovely. In a quiet village but that's what we wanted. Only 40 mins to Llandudno/ Conwy. Extremely spacious for bungalow. VERY clean. Place looks nice on photos but actual place is gorgeous - higher spec than photos appear. Was a newbie to air b&b - would defo recommend this place to anyone wanting a relaxing getaway. Will definitely return. More than enough for couples with two kids as we have. Thank you

  • Located in the quiet scenic village, this bungalow has everything you might need. Two large bedrooms, a modern bathroom, a spacious living room and a fully equipped kitchen and dining space. The garden in front and behind the house is beautiful. Everything was extremely clean and easy to find. Ann and Nigel sent us the directions to the house a couple of days before our travel which proved quite handy. There isn't any phone network here (at least not on EE and Vodafone) but the wifi is pretty good. There is a pub right next door even though we didn't get a chance to visit. The self checkin made it extremely convenient for us as we reached a little late. The communications right from the time of booking was amazing and even though we never met the hosts in person, they made sure we had everything we needed. We drove up north to walk up the Snowdon and how we wish we stayed there for more than just 2 nights. Thanks Ann and Nigel. Would love to return someday.

  • Amazing bungalow, immaculate in presentation, well equipped, fantastic area. Nice welcome pack. Lovely gardens.

    Pamela2016-11-06T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first airbnb experience and it was absolutely fantastic. The garden is secure and safe for both our kids ad dog and was well maintained. The photos on the website do not do the property justice. Inside- the property was immaculately clean and tidy. I was surprised to find it was so well equipped. The small and relatively inexpensive touches make a huge difference which was also commented on by my husband-things like cooking oil, tea, sugar, tin foil, liquid hand soap, quality loo roll, kitchen roll, hot water bottle, BBQ, matches, salt, pepper to name a few. Thank you Ann for the fresh cut flowers and the tray of welcome goodies of biscuits and crisps, you have a lovely place in a quiet village. For those who want to know what's around.....the pub did good curries and was three doors away (awesome selection of Gins and Single Malts) We ate in the pool room on the first night as the landlord allowed us to take our well behaved dog in with us. We went to Llanberis (foot of Snowdon) and to Conwy Falls, all within an hours steady drive. Only half an hour from Kimnel Bay which was a lovely beach, again we could take the dog. Highly recommended.

  • This was our second stay at Ann and Nigel's place, lovely rural location and nice garden for the children to play safely in. Very accommodating hosts.

  • We had a wonderful stay at Ann and Nigel's Bungalow. The place was so clean and comfortable and provided everything we needed. We loved all the little features and it actually felt like a home from home. The surrounding area's were beautiful. We visited, Lyn Brening Lake, Betws-Y-Coed and Port Merion. We really enjoyed Wales and coming back to a lovely Bungalow at the end of a long day was perfect. The pub which is 1 min walk away was lovely too, we enjoyed our meal there. It was a nice little pub. We will definitely come back soon. Nargis ( From Warrington)

  • Ann and Nigel's place was great. Tons of space, big shower, yummy snacks, tea and coffee. It was a great home base for us to explore the beautiful northern Wales coast and country side. The bungalow is in a quaint village and the local pub was great. Stay here if you are looking for a place in northern Wales!

Our place is perfect for everyone looking to switch off and escape the busy life. It's pure Wanderlust.
The whole lodge and gardens are yours for the entire duration of your trip. Our own house is 100m away down a hill so you are in your own secluded lodge, with own drive way and garden. The property consists of 4 rooms, bedroom, bathroom, kitchen/diner & living room.
Glyn Arthur Lodge is the perfect place to recharge your batteries. Either after action packed days visiting local outdoor activity places, shopping or just to switch off, sit in the porch read a book and take in the fresh country air.
  • My daughter and I were made to feel very welcome and the treats were much needed! It was great to be provided with eggs, butter, milk, cereal, and use of oils and spices for cooking. The Lodge is absolutely fabulous, clean warm and we made a lovely fire with the logs provided (along with kindling and firelighters!). Comfy beds and a beautiful setting made it a perfect setting. The photos don't do it justice!

  • Cosy little secluded cottage that is great for a relaxing break. The communication from rob was top notch and when we arrived our cottage was clean and had lovely little touches like the log fire. Was ideal for us as we like to relax combined with being able to walk the dog and the surroundings were beautiful and ideal for this! Can absolutely recommend this place, you won't be disappointed.

  • Very welcoming when arrived, the photos really didn't do the room justice. As we were leaving early the next day Mair kindly prepared our breakfast for the next day and even extra for a packed lunch. It was a shame I was only there for 12 hours, would of been lovely to see the view in daylight!

  • Really lovely accommodation, with your own sitting room. Spotlessly clean and beautiful. Mair is a very warm and generous host and was very accommodating to two rather grubby mountain bikers! Mair took us into town to eat because the pub wasn't serving food on Sunday evening, and served us a great breakfast in the morning. Fantastic stay, great value and highly recommended.

The Second smallest City in the land, Ideally located for the smallest cathedral, Close to all amenities and within striking distance of the Beach. With the Snowdonia national park and the Clwyd valley close at hand there is plenty to explore as well as the historic Roman city of Chester (25 mins) lots of local walking and cycle routes. Your room with us is large and spacious with its own private en-suite and located at the rear of the house as is the private off road parking.

Comfortable and quiet 3 bedroom home in a picturesque rural location. Located just outside the city of St Asaph, ideally situated for exploring local castles such as Rhuddlan and Denbigh.
The property has a well maintained garden with outdoor seating area, perfectly positioned to watch sunsets over the North Wales coat. The garden also contains a gate to the rear which opens onto adjoining farmland. The living room contains a log burner for cosy nights in. Complimentary logs are supplied.
  • We had a wonderful time in Su's lovely cottage in St Asaph. The accommodation was clean, spacious, bright, comfortable and well equipped. The children especially loved the farm animals straight outside the garden gate. St Asaph is a good spot to feel like you're away from it all but close enough to all the amenities of Prestatyn and the other local towns of North Wales. We had a fabulously sunny half term week in which visited Dyserth waterfalls, Rhuddlan castle and the beaches at prestatyn. Su visited us one afternoon to check if we had everything we needed, she couldn't have been more helpful. The neighbourhood is quiet and friendly. Well recommended.

  • Susan is the perfect host, it's a clean and homely place. Quiet, scenic and great for families or those seeking peace. A car is needed as its rural, but that is part of its charm. However, its only 5 minutes to a decent bar & restaurant, and 10 minutes to a supermarket and urban life if you want it. A great place to relax and a base for day trips into North Wales.

    Mark2017-04-21T00:00:00Z
  • Susan's Cottage is beautiful, so comfortable and a real home from home, with a lovely, peaceful outlook onto open farmland. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

  • Fantastic house, we stayed with our children (2 and 6) and had a great time. The kids loved seeing the sheep and the chickens in the fields behind the house. Easy access to Prestatyn and Llandudno. We will hopefully come back soon.

  • Fabulous place to stay, so homely, well equipped, everything you could need for a home from home stay. The field behind the garden was great for the children to explore in, it all just added to that peaceful and relaxing feeling! The house was in a quiet but good location, a car is definitely needed but all of the desired attractions (Llandudno, Prestatyn etc) are all only a 30/40 minute drive away. Family friendly pub 10 minutes away which served nice food and had a play area for the children. Nearest shop around 3 miles away. Would definitely return and will be doing so asap! We loved Sue's house and have returned feeling well rested and happy. Thank you!

Our grade 2star listed Coach House has just been converted into a luxury two storey Bed and Breakfast. Complete with your own private hot tub this is the perfect place to relax and unwind. Easily accessible to all that North Wales has to offer.
  • Had a lovely couple of days at The Coach House. The Coach House was lovely and clean and had everything we needed, The private hot tub was an added bonus which made our stay. Breakfast was very good and there were lots of options for you to choose from. Would definitely return to The Coach House for another fabulous break.

  • We stayed at the accommodation last night and where to start. It was a grand experience in the cottage and we had everything we wanted and more... firstly meeting our hosts who were lovely from the first moment to last. Secondly the accommodation was immaculate and very nicely decorated, with tea and coffee in the room with biscuits, milk and even gin! We had an incredible night sleep and breakfast was to die for! The hot tub was a lovely extra to make the stay that little bit more enjoyable. Well located not far from Denbigh town... wonderful experience would happily return. Thank you!

  • My partner and I stayed in the coach house a couple of weeks ago. The place was very clean, decor amazingly thought out, colourful and felt like home. The jacuzzi was amazing, Dianna and Pete have located it in the perfect place. Could see the stars perfectly on a clear night. The breakfast room is a nice little touch and a variety off breakfast food was available. Dianna and Pete are very welcoming and friendly. Would definitely recommend and will hopefully be back to stay again one day.

  • My wife and I stayed at the Coach House for two nights in early Aug 2017. We had a fantastic stay. We would highly recommend. The room was very clean and well furnished including wi-fi and smart TV etc. The bathroom reminded us of our honeymoon hotel in Bali (which was 5* hotel). We especially enjoyed the hot tub and having a relaxing breakfast in their new breakfast room, a stone through over the courtyard. Pete and Dianna are very nice friendly people, they made us feel very welcome.

    Russell2017-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • This place is fantastic. It will exceed all your expectations. The coach house is outstanding and the photos don't do it justice. We were provided a great breakfast every morning and had a very comfortable stay. The shower/bathroom is incredible and we loved the complimentary sloe gin ;) loads is provided here, you won't be disappointed. Bear in mind you are secluded so you'll need to drive and transport and taxis don't really exist.

    Kareem2017-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • My girlfriend and I spent the bank holiday weekend at the Coach House and we thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of our stay. We were the first guests to ever stay at the B&B following its recent restoration so Dianna and Pete were eager to make a good impression. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel extremely welcome. Pete gave us the grand tour and showed us everything we needed to know, including recommendations for restaurants and hiking routes in the area. Any problems or questions we had, Dianna and Pete were always on hand to help us out. Having not read any reviews or seen many pictures of the B&B we were slightly unsure of what to expect. However, the place is fantastic and we were instantly impressed with the quality. There's a huge double bed, a giant walk in shower and a tv in the bedroom with a great selection of channels and catch up tv. For us, however, the highlight of the trip was the hot tub! It was a great way to chill out in the evening after a long day hiking on the Offa's Dyke footpath (which is a two minute drive away). The breakfast included in the stay was great; a selection of tea/coffee, juice, cereal, giant croissants, omelettes or a full cooked breakfast. In summary, we had a great stay in a fantastic, newly renovated B&B with wonderful hosts. We couldn't have asked for anything more. We will definitely be back in the future and would highly recommend to others.

    Tom2017-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • I would definitely recommend here! We really loved our hosts and they went out there way to ensure our stay was most enjoyable. The hot tub is amazing and everything is super clean. I was abit weary only seeing one review but im so glad we picked this place. It is abit secluded but its refreshing to be away from the shops and people. We went on a lovely walk not far from the house and we went to this lovely pub called The Piccadilly which offered to pick you up and drop you back to the house. Breakfast was really good and always on time. No doubt we would stay again!

Gwenoldy offers peace and every comfort for up to four people. Children are very welcome.
Gwenoldy combines extremely comfortable accommodation in a natural, countryside setting with easy access to local towns, the cities of Chester and Liverpool, and Snowdonia and the Island of Anglesey. We provide bed-linen and towels, and fuel costs (including logs for the woodburning stove) are included.
Gwenoldy is situated in an Area of Outstanding Beauty, with many facilities for tourists, but without the large number of visitors attracted to Snowdonia to the west.
  • The location was peaceful and beautiful. The cottage was lovely. Rooms clean and spacious. Huge garden and lots of play area for children. We even got to collect some eggs from the chickens. Can't fault the place. You will need to be prepared to drive as it's a couple of miles from nearest pub and restaurant. But that wasn't a problem for us as we wanted a quiet place to visit. It's very close (about 20 minutes) from the coast and other beautiful places to visit, castles, walks, adventure places etc. All in all we had a wonderful time and it was just right for us.

  • We would highly recommend that if you are looking for a break in stunning surroundings to recharge your batteries (or even as a great base for an active holiday), then look no further and press your the "book" button before someone else does! Perfect for our family break, this warm and comfortable cottage has everything you need to make you feel at home and friendly hosts Ian and Elizabeth were on hand to ensure we got the most out of our break. We spent wonderful days out and about visiting castles, beaches, cute local towns, caves and the snowdonia railway then heading back for a home cooked meal and a glass of wine in front of the crackling log fire. There were plenty of books, games and a rather frustrating puzzle to while away the evenings. The chickens (thanks for the eggs) and swings were perfect to keep my daughter amused and my favourite place to sit was on the wooden bench overlooking the glorious valley views-what better place to read a book?? Thanks for sharing your home with us, we had a lovely week. Our first airbnb experience was one to remember for all of the right reasons x

The views from the cottage are spectacular. My daughters particularly enjoyed seeing the chickens on the farm every day. A good location, with lots of beaches and castles nearby. Highly recommended.

We are in Afonwen in Flintshire, north Wales, near the English border. At the Pwll Gwyn we have 3 large en-suite bedrooms, (this listing is for Eleri, with double bed and additional single bed, sleeping up to 3 people). All rooms have a TV, tea and coffee making facilities, mini fridge and hairdryer. The rooms all have their own front door. **EVERY BOOKING WILL RECEIVE ONE GIFT SET CONTAINING A SELECTION OF OUR MULTI AWARD WINNING AFRICAN INSPIRED SAUCES/RELISHES, HANDMADE BY US ONSITE**
The rooms are in a converted barn of an ancient house and former public house and are furnished with antique furniture, have a TV, mini fridge and tea and coffee making facilities. The rooms will be fully made up on arrival but we do not provide a maid service. Breakfast is not included, but we can recommend great places to eat nearby. All rooms have their own front doors and full bathrooms. There is space for a travel cot if you bring one with you. A raised deck runs the length of the barn and there are masses of car parking places. This listing has a DOUBLE bed and a full size single bed. The single bed will only be made up for use if the room is booked for 3 people. If you wish to have the use of both the double bed and the single bed for just 2 guests please advise us as soon as possible.
The Pwll Gwyn in it's original guise as the Dower house for the local manor house has a birth registered in 1452, so it has a long history. Afonwen, the hamlet we are in, used to be a busy place, with a couple of paper mills and a railway station. Both mills have been converted, one to a home and the other into the craft and antique centre. Caerwys which is just a mile away up the hill (a public footpath runs next to the property) is the smallest town in Wales and has some wonderful stories of royalty and is the home of the Eisteddfod. There are 2 pubs in Caerwys, a mini mart (open 'till 9pm), a pharmacy, a public golf course,a cafe (open from 7am for breakfast) and an award winning butchers/deli/post office. We are just 3 miles from the A55 Expressway, turn left towards, Conwy, Snowdon, Anglesey and Ireland! Turn right to Chester, Liverpool and Manchester! We are are equidistant between our 2 local towns, Mold and Denbigh are well serviced with superstores, independent shops and both have leisure centres. We are at the foot of the Clwydian Range and in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There is excellent walking, hiking and cycling around us and the fabulous wide sandy beaches of glorious north Wales are just 10 mile away.
  • The place is perfect, the room was spotless and beautiful, and the bathroom newly renovated. Nic and her husband were the perfect hosts and we're available for whatever we needed during our stay. The house is in a location surrounded by beautiful towns, perfect to see Wales.

  • This is our first time using Airbnb. On arrival they were both there to greet us and make sure we had everything. It is great, just like a motel in America. We enjoyed it so much, it was quiet. Nicola mentioned we might hear the traffic but it wasn't a problem. I would have no hesitation in recommending this place.

  • We stayed with a group of friends and two kids. It was a wonderful stay. We enjoyed a lot. Rooms were spacious and beautifully decorated. Bathrooms were extra large. :) Location was convenient. Nic was an excellent host. She communicated the location perfectly. Accommodate us for a late check-in. Gave us a warm welcome (something which I like most about staying thru Airbnb). Thanks again Nic.

  • Nic was a very helpful host. My family who live close by recommended her property and we booked three rooms. She was helpful right from the initial enquiry, even though we booked far in advance. The location was peaceful so all had good night's sleep! A great base for enjoying the beautiful surroundings.

  • We booked up all three of Nic's rooms for extra guest accommodation for a party. Nic was extremely helpful in getting the bookings organised with very quick communication. The feed back was excellent from all guests, commenting on comfy beds and great bathrooms. Excellent value accommodation in a beautiful remote area of North Wales - would highly recommend. Many thanks

  • Amazing place, would definitely recommend for a relaxing weekend away. Naomi was great and arranged balloons, banners and chocolates for my boyfriends birthday and the homemade birthday cake was amazing thank you so much. We will definitely be going back.

  • Not really a true Airbnb. It is a commercial set up. Pods are very clean and very new. The hot tubs are right outside the front of the pod so don't expect privacy. Apart from that the experience was good.

  • Excellent site! Great accommodation and very peaceful !! Beautiful scenery!! Thanks !

    Adam2017-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • The pod was up in the trees overlooking the lake in comparison to others which were quite open and public. The pod itself was very clean and comfortable, we had everything we needed. The hot tub was amazing, the most perfect way to relax! The staff were very helpful and lovely they went out of their way to exceed your expectations.

Nant y Ne ( 'Stream of Heaven') is perfect if you love hill walking and a sense of isolation and adventure (though historic Ruthin is only 15 minutes away!). You walk straight out of the door and onto the hills with stunning views across to the coast and Snowdonia. A great place for romantic couples, groups or families. It's a two bedroomed cottage, but with a sofa bed in one of the 3 lounges and our ultra-cool glass and cedar EcoPod next door, it comfortably sleeps 6 and will stretch to 8.
Nant y Ne is a 16th Century drover's cottage situated high on the slopes of the Clwydian Range just beneath the famous Moel Famau mountain and Offa's Dyke path. The cottage has a modern kitchen with an Aga, a well- appointed walk in shower room and two lounges downstairs. There is also a separate dining room. Next to the cottage is a contemporary Ecospace studio with floor to ceiling glass so you can take full advantage of the near-360 degree views. It has a shower/toilet, lounge with TV, mini-kitchen (hob and fridge) and a separate office/study. It's an amazing space with a magical feel about it. Both the cottage and the studio have central heating supplemented by log burners.
This is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and we are surrounded by sheep and dairy farms. Although isolated, it is very safe and has a low crime rate. Anybody attempting to reach Nant y Ne has to pass through Bron y Felin farmyard first (see below). You will hear their dog early warning system well before you see your visitors!
  • Nant Y Ne cottage is truly a home away from home. The cottage is extremely well kept all around with comfortable bedding and facilities. The combination of cottage and contemporary Eco pod offered a relaxing getaway for my family. Our 2 young boys were enthralled by the nearby farm. The Clwydian hills are at your door step, with a short hike offering spectacular views across the valley. David greeted us with a warm welcome to introduce the property, offered some great local recommendations, and was easily contactable during our stay. A 10 out of 10 for our desired relaxing getaway from the city, and would highly recommend for anyone looking to do the same.
