Appena prenotato a Danville

Nestled in the hilled forest behind our home, the Vermont Tree Cabin (16' by 12', 190 sq ft) is a great, quiet place to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. While lounging on the deck or hot tub, you will be able to enjoy the calm and serenity of the outdoors, but still have the comfort of home in our authentic cabin lodging. Built in 2004, the cabin was temporally used as a home for our family while we built our house. The cabin has been completely renovated with custom tile shower, rustic hickory floors, knotty pine walls/ceiling, a kitchen area including a sink, small refrigerator, microwave, waffle maker, coffee maker, HD TV, DVD player with small selection of movies, good cell service (ATT & Verizon), 500 gallon custom cedar hot tub, Wireless internet, gas grill, rock fire-pit, picnic table and a 250 sq. ft. deck that is built into and around oak trees. One of our greatest amenities of the cabin is the custom built, white cedar hot tub. Maintained at 100- 104F degrees, the hot tub is ready for your use all year round, 24 hours a day; all you need to do is slide the cover off, relax and enjoy. While relaxing in the tub, be sure to enjoy watching the flames of a fire from the fire pit right off the deck. Our other amenities and services are as follows: Bedding – One full size memory foam bed and one single cot that can be included upon request. Food – Coffee, tea, waffle mix (make your own), Vermont maple syrup. Parking – private driveway and parking area for cabin guests. The cabin is completely insulated and heated, so we invite you to enjoy it any time of the year. Maid service - We do not provide turn down service or housekeeping in the cabin during your visit, but will make adjustments upon request. As we are located in the North East Kingdom of Vermont, the area offers many activities and events for your enjoyment. Our area is well known for some of our Ski Mountains and Resorts including Burke Mountain and Jay Peak. There are many other outdoor activities including boating and paddling, fishing, hiking, snowmobiling, etc. But don’t forget to check out some of Vermont’s well-known covered bridges, sugar houses, breweries, and farms well. P.S. It’s great exercise walking from the parking area to the cabin. It’s only 150 feet away but a beautiful uphill stroll on a mix of well-lit paths and stairs.
  • Andrew built an absolutely beautiful cabin. Overall, an excellent experience from the hot tub to the waffles in the morning. Wish we could have stayed longer!

    Kathryn2016-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • This place was great. Andrew and Marilou are extremely generous and gracious. The place was extremely cozy but with all the amenities you could want for a night or two in the woods. Free tea, cocoa, cereal, oatmeal, waffles, a fridge, a large and hot shower... It reminded us of a beautiful log cabin we stayed in in Denali, Alaska, actually. Anywho, very close to fantastic hiking and skiing, we'll definitely be back again next time we have a few days to spare. Thanks Andrew for the hospitality!

    Margaret2012-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin felt almost like it was our own summer home. It is a very quiet and relaxing place after a long day of hiking in the White Mountains. We especially enjoyed the hot tub. I definitely would recommend it.

    Santa2012-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely, intimate stay. With wonderful, extremely responsive host!

    Bushra2012-12-03T00:00:00Z
  • Very unique cabin built into and around oak trees. Cute and comfortable inside with an amazing deck outside. Relaxing in the hot tube and barbecuing local meat on the grill was a definite highlight. Marilou and Andrew made us feel like old friends visiting with their friendly and gracious attentiveness to our comfort. I highly recommended a visit.

    Diego2013-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • The Tree Cabin was so cozy! It snowed the night before we arrived leaving us in a perfect winter wonderland. Marilou, Andrew, and their precious dog Wally greeted us upon arrival and showed us around the cabin. Everything was immaculately clean and the tiny little cabin had everything we needed. Besides the delicious waffle mixes Marilou and Andrew had set out, we also cooked ourselves a delicious dinner using the hot plate provided (we would've loved to grill, but Vermont is pretty chilly in the winter...). The hot tub was hands-down the most magnificent part of our stay, letting us enjoy the nature and the snow while immersing ourselves in a hot little paradise.

    Jenna2014-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • Everything about this tree cabin that was advertised a posted in the comments section was 100% true! I couldn't have asked for a better experience.

    Emily2014-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Andrew was friendly and welcoming and the treehouse was quite simply amazing. Everything listed as provided and more with fantastic attention to detail. A lovely surprise to have all waffle ingredients ready for us for breakfast. Hot tub was great after a hard day climbing Mt Washington.

  • THE BITTERSWEET IS A REALLY WELL PUT TOGETHER VERY CLEAN AND METICULOUS COTTAGE RIGHT OFF JOES POND IN VERMONT. • We had the pleasure of staying here on our way from Virginia to Maine with our 2 children. We wanted to check out rural Vermont, and this was a lovely location. The cottage was perfect for our family, with 3 bedrooms and 1 bathroom with a tub. The children's bedroom is so sweet, with 2 twin beds and nice touches like coloring supplies in the desk. The beds we're comfortable and the cottage fully stocked for cooking and bathing. The town of Danville is small, but charming. We were sad that the brewery is only open Saturdays, so we missed that but enjoyed a nice meal at The Creamery. St. Johnsburg is a 20 min. drive and offers more food options. We used the grill outside one night and ate outside on a cool summer evening. Check in was easy and Deb was welcoming and available for question, while also giving us our privacy. Danville was definitely a highlight of our road trip!

    Alison2017-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • We loved the Bittersweet cottage and were wowed by the hospitality from Deb and John. They have done a wonderful job of restoring the cottage and have thought of every possible amenity their guests might need. Highly recommend this place if you’re staying in the Danville area. We look forward to sending our friends and family to this rental in future.

    Claire2017-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • This is an awesome little place! Clean and private with all the amenities you could ask for. Deb is a great host!

    Brian2017-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • The Bittersweet provided a wonderful retreat for our family! We stayed almost a month and the cabin had everything we needed and more! Morning coffee in the sunshine in the front yard, and lazy afternoon barbecues in the backyard. Deb and John were the perfect hosts. They checked in to make sure we had everything, and took care of all the essentials. Wifi worked perfectly so we were connected with the world, but the cabin was also a great place to "disconnect" - so relaxing, so perfectly appointed. Joe's pond with boat rentals and swimming is just down the road, and the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail is a new gem nearby, stretching miles for biking and long runs. Our kids learned to bike here! Rainbow Sweets bakery in Marshfield for delicious savories and exquisite sweets should not be missed. Pizza on Friday and Saturday evenings will transport you to NYC! We hope to be back to the Bittersweet, which is definitely all "sweet"!

    Olivia2017-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful location, house, and gracious hosts. A 10/10 - we loved our weekend getaway and are thankful for all the thoughtful touches that were put into the cabin!

  • Had a wonderful stay with Melissa and Bob- their beautiful little farmhouse is perched dramatically over a valley, affording some spectacular views. Melissa and Bob are warm, friendly people. The simple breakfast was one of the best I've had at an AirBnB- hard-boiled eggs, really good yogurt, fresh fruit, excellent French-press coffee. They're steps from the a great bike trail and about a 10 min walk from St. Johnsbury. Strongly recommended!

    Joe2016-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • Melissa and her husband were gracious hosts to make us feel welcomed. The home is on the peripheral of St. Johnsbury so be sure to get the GPS co-ordinates so that location is facilitated easily. It's a unique house that is in the process of being updated.

    David2015-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • Very open and hospitable. Made me feel very much at home. Nice, clean home and very comfortable quarters.

    John2015-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Melissa was very prompt about staying in touch with me , with clear instructions on how to "check in". Melissa and Bob were congenial, fun and stimulating to chat with.

    Cynthia2015-12-17T00:00:00Z
  • The room was great and they were very generous hosts. Driveway was a bit hard to spot in dark, but found it without too much trouble. The big bonus was that there were two wonderful kittens to play with.

    Charlie2017-11-07T00:00:00Z
  • Melissa and Bob made me feel welcome immediately. They were able to give good restaurant recommendations. The bed was comfy and the room was cozy.

    Ryan2016-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at Melissa and Bob's place was great. Communication with Melissa was quick and effortless, her directions were spot on, the house was charming and here pointers for things to do in the vicinity were spot on. Would recommend gladly.

Come unwind in all the allure of country living, while enjoying the indulgent amenities at the treehouse! New construction, a garage to park your car, and all the Vermont country charm you could want. There is a wood fired sauna, hot tub, trampolines, children's swing set, a pond and walking trails on the property too!
The treehouse is a standalone house on my property. Beautiful and new, custom construction.
Nearby attractions include Cabot Creamery, an apple orchard, snowmobile trail (VAST), Joe's Pond, and Harry's Hardware store, where there is live music and a bar! (Yes, a bar in a hardware store, how Vermont is that?!) And...that is just within a few miles. The treehouse is an hour drive from many ski resorts, Jay, Stowe, and Smugglers Notch to name a few.
  • My boyfriend and I were looking for a dog friendly place and found Cheryls place. What an amazing find on an amazing quiet property. A very perfect getaway w the hot tub and a place for the dogs to run around. Will be returning more than one more time. Great home and host! Cheryl is the best host!

    Leah2018-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect getaway if you want some peace and quiet! Beautiful new space with so much room. We felt at home as soon as we walked in. Would be awesome for a family or girls weekend. We loved being able to have our dog too. There was nothing that we wished we would have brought, right down to a brand new sponge on the sink. Wouldn't book if your looking to walk out the door onto a mainstreet, but perfect if you need to detach. Would deffinatley stay again.

    Trista2017-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • Cheryl's place is peaceful, secluded and comfortable. New construction, gorgeous views, clean and fresh. We loved being able to stay with our dogs, beautiful walking trails and a great kitchen to cook in! I would highly recommend her place!

  • Cheryl's home is cozy, beautiful, and perfect for a weekend getaway. The scenery is breathtaking, and there are so many things to keep you busy - mountain trails, a hot tub, sauna, and wi-fi - all the things you'd ever need for the perfect vacation. It is in a very secluded location, but it makes for even better views and a very peaceful, quiet getaway if that's what you're looking for. The house itself is spacious, yet cozy, and Cheryl provided anything we could need, including cookware, TV, blankets and board games (and dogs). This place was the perfect weekend getaway, and we hope to be back soon!

A huge secluded Vermont getaway on a large, semi-private pond offers an ideal spot for getting away from it all or exploring the hiking, biking and breweries of the Northeast Kingdom. The house is at the end of a long (0.4-mile) driveway, and all the rooms open up on to Keiser Pond, a 70-acre body of water with only three houses on it. Enjoy the call of the loons on a canoe, or the stillness of winter in front of the fire!
Enter from the driveway through the mudroom and into a cathedral height great room. The space includes and open kitchen, dining room and living room, clustered around a huge chimney with two fireplaces. The upper level also includes a gorgeous master suite with a full bathroom and walk-in closet. All the rooms open onto a covered porch with views of the pond. Downstairs, there is a common area with a small kitchenette. There are also four more bedrooms, each with french doors opening onto the patio and looking out onto the pond. The mini-master bedroom has an ensuite full bathroom, and there is a second full bath across the hall.
Less than a mile away is Red Barn Brewing, one of the tiniest (and most delicious) Vermont breweries off the beaten path. Walk over and enjoy a glass of Misty Hopped or Little Devil, or hop in the car for half an hour and head over to Hill Farmstead. In the summer, you can swim, fish, canoe or kayak on the pond. Enjoy a number of near-by hikes or head over to the Kingdom Trails for some of the country's best mountain biking. The fall brings spectacular foliage and weekly festivals in all the nearby towns. In the winter, you can skate or cross-country ski on the frozen pond. We are also near the VAST network and a short drive from the Crafstbury Outdoor Center. The Kingdom Trails are open for fat biking or snow-shoeing.

Peacefully situated in the rural landscape of quaint Danville VT this open concept log home features views of the white mountains and end of the road tranquility. Surrounded by 142 acres of VT and super starry skies at night, you will enjoy peace at last. 1 double bed in downstairs bedroom, 1 double bed upstairs in the loft, and 1 pull out couch double bed downstairs in the office. Wifi, and cell service! Laundry. Hot Tub.
Welcome to my part-time home. You will find the cabin homey, friendly and slightly unfinished. Full bath downstairs with clawfoot tub and big shower. The upstairs 1/2 bath is utilitarian and the base cabinet is a bit unfinished, but does the job. The cabin is open concept and the loft and office beds, although private, are open to the common areas. The kitchen has pots and pans, glasses, plates, toaster oven, gas range, french press and coffee grinder, etc. Feel free to open drawers to find the tools you are looking for. The VAST (Vermont Association of Snow Travelers) trail runs across my property (look for the flags as you enter the field). If you have a snowmobile you are welcome to bring it and cruise the trails or just have fun. There are trails on the property and great XC skiing and snowshoeing.
Danville is a quaint yet accessible VT town with a population of 2,000 or so. You are approximately 45 minutes to the capitol of Montpelier, 30 minutes to Burke Mountain, and less than 10 minutes to picturesque Peacham, VT. You are also 5 minutes to the new Red Barn Brewery just down Oneida Road. Places to visit downtown include The Creamery restaurant, Barrel To Bottle wine and Cheese shop, Bentleys bakery for some treats, or check out The Danville Inn for breakfast. Also there is a cute public skating rink in the center of Danville just North of the stoplights in town. Or Joes Pond or Harveys Lake for swimming in the summer. If you are looking for more stuff to do check out what's going on in St. Johnsbury (URL HIDDEN)

  • This cabin is truly a slice of secluded paradise. We went in February with a party of 6, which fit very comfortably on the 3 full sized beds. The directions were easy enough to follow and the roads were well plowed, although I would definitely consider bringing a moderately capable car if it has snowed recently (which it did when we went!). Once we arrived and got out of the car, we were greeted with more stars than I had ever seen in my entire life and complete silence. It was absolutely beautiful. The house is warm and cozy, with a self-feeding fireplace, projector, surround-sound stereo system to which you can plug in your iPod or computer for movies, a fully equipped kitchen, and AN INDOOR HAMMOCK. Genius idea. The house is on a hill, overlooking a field and a forest in the back, which is perfect for snowshoeing or sledding (which are also provided!). It was absolutely wonderful.

    Ben2017-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Great place , I would return if the opportunity comes up

    Tim2017-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • Evangelyn's cabin is close enough to the highway to be easily accessible, but far enough off the road to feel like you are the only people for miles. We enjoyed going for a walk on the VAST trail that is right outside her door, and just experiencing the peace and beauty of our surroundings. The space is bright and airy and open and was warm despite the cold outside. We have a crawling baby, so avoided the hot pellet stove in favor of the safer heater, but the stove is pretty. Evangelyn was a friendly, available and communicative host.

Located in Walden Vt. Beautiful views and secluded. Great skiing. (Stowe, Jay Peak, Burke, Smuggler's Notch, Northern Slopes, Lyndon Outing). Cross country ski options. Nearby skating. Mountain views, woods, meadow. Nice spot for snowshoeing. Adjacent to our apple orchard. Full kitchen, dining and living room area for entertaining. Nearby sugar houses, restaurants and general stores. Beautiful views. NOTE- unlike other rentals we have no extra charges (cleaning fee, extra guests, etc).
Single night stays for those on the move, but a very nice place for a couple or family to spend a few days romping around the woods or walking on a quiet country road. Located adjacent to our organic orchard and farmstand. Private spot, but on a highway for easy travel. A good location for those visiting area brewers and distilleries. (We can send you a list).
This is classic rural Vermont. Walden's total population is around 900, and the nearby highschool boasts a whopping 12 children in its freshman class. The neighborhood is on a quiet highway bordered by working farms, sugarhouses, and forestland. Within a 15 minute radius you will find many country stores, restaurants, sugarhouses, bars & breweries, lakes & ponds with public access, farms, stores, farmers markets, and more. Nearby Danville sports an entrypoint to an extensive bike and walking trail, as well as swimming and boat launch. Lazy country road across the street is perfect for a morning walk or safe biking, leading to a nearby pond. Scenic.

  • There are many places to spend a night, but if you are seeking a place where you are truly a guest and not the 'occupant of room 322' then it is hard to beat a genuine Bed & Breakfast. Much better than renting a room for a night, and in today's world where connections are often only virtual, a way to connect on a more personal level with hosts and other visitors. Emergo Farm's hosts, Lori and Bebo, are the folks that you know are the best neighbors. So genuine and caring for their guests, their livestock and dog. If you love historic homes, picturesque views, the gentle rhythms of rural life and cows, this is the B&B by which you should judge all others. The home is immaculate, the porch and patio inviting and the breakfast delicious. If you need a break from city life, or just want to see something different, head out to Danville and spend a night or more. Visit their website for more info: (Website hidden by Airbnb)

  • We had such a great time and caught a beautiful quiet sunset from the lawn! Really enjoyed talking to Lori and her husband and visiting the cows too! The whole place was clean and beautiful and the breakfast was delicious and super tastefully displayed. Would definitely come back again and bring friends and family!

    Kate2017-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • Lori's home is an superb family farm house that is beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean, and welcoming. It is on a hill overlooking gorgeous farmland and there are flowers everywhere. Our bed was super comfortable with soft sheets ,great mattress and pillows. Lori served us breakfast in her lovely dining room on a table decorated for fall and even lit candles! She is an incredible cook and the food was not just delicious but beautifully garnished. It was amazing! We were concerned at first about staying at a working dairy farm because of the obvious cow odor, but found that in a short time it wasn't noticeable at all, and it was wonderful to see a working farm. This is a really wonderful place to stay and we highly recommend it

    Susan2017-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • This is a truly authentic farmhouse experience! The rooms are all beautiful, Lori opens up a large portion of her home for her guests, and the breakfast is delicious!

Our lake-side camp is a comfortable house for groups up to 6 people. We are located on Peacham Pond, a very quiet body of water great for swimming, canoeing, kayaking, or just watching the loons, herons, and interesting sunsets. It has almost all of the comforts of home, except without internet. This is a place for relaxation, games with the kids, reading, hiking, biking, exploring Vermont's Northeast Kingdom. Much of the shoreline is owned by the State.

Welcome and sunny's even more economical and closer to the outdoors experience. This is our tenting offer.
  • This place was super lovely, Melissa and Bob are incredibly welcoming and their home is quiet, clean, and cozy! I loved camping in their yard (stayed 1 week) with a pretty amazing night sky view and felt comfortable using the bathroom and kitchen as needed. Highly recommend their place if you're looking for a quick pit stop or a longer stay!

If you are looking for serenity, we're your place. A mile and a half off the main road, our home is surrounded by 30 acres of woodland paths and meadows. We raise free-range chickens and occasionally glimpse visiting moose and bears.
Bright room with a west facing window on the top floor of a Cape Cod home. There is a private lavatory adjacent to the room. A tub or shower is available downstairs with a private entry.
We have thirty acres in Vermont's Green Mountains, surrounded by hundreds of acres of woods and meadows. We have a small swimming pond that attracts wildlife. Our main feature is the serenity our location affords, but we have easy access to Rt 2, the northernmost east-west state road.
  • The area surrounding the home is very serene. This is the place to go if you’re looking for peace and quiet surrounded by nature.

  • We so enjoyed staying with Janet, Woody, and Sasha. Their amenities were lovely--clean, private, and the view was wonderful. Janet offered great suggestions as to local happenings and restaurants. She was also very flexible when we found ourselves with a last minute extra guest. Our stay could not have been more enjoyable.

Our cozy guest cottage is located at the end of a scenic dirt road, just across from our 1860s farm house. We are surrounded by farms and woodlands, with lots of peace and quiet and endless outdoor activities just outside the door!
A small but full kitchen and a Propane stove in the living room makes this a great place to stay for any amount of time in any season. Two bedrooms and a pullout couch makes it an option for anywhere from one to five, depending on how cozy you would like to be. Being at the end of a beautiful dirt road makes for an incredibly peaceful retreat for couples or families. Despite the satellite dish in the photos, there is no tv in the cottage.
Our private, country cottage is situated 15 minutes (8 miles) from the town of Danville and in the middle of an endless amount of trails that are great for walking, skiing or biking. Danville is quaint and holds an excellent bakery (Bentley's Bakery and Cafe) and a convenient extensive gas station/grocery store (Marty's First Stop) where you can stock up on food to cook in the cottage. We are 15 minutes from St. Johnsbury and highway 91, 20 minutes from Lyndonville and Lyndon State College, and 45 minutes from Montpelier. • We loved everything about staying at the cottage. It is hard to put in words just how much I loved being at the cottage amongst the flowers in the neighborhood of rolling farmland. Libby and Silas are lovely happy people who have created a very special place in farm country. They shared a road map of the area which proved quite helpful, and told us about the local farmers and gave us pointers to help make our 2 night stay the best it could be. Gardens of perennials and even a wisteria were blooming during our stay. The cottage is appointed with beautiful art, fanciful accents, and great books and games. There was just enough of anything one would need, without excess. Lovely linens, too. I loved simply sitting on the porch and soaking in the sun. While my husband and I ate lunch, butterflies landed on us and remained even while we moved about. It was astonishing, I felt so connected to nature there. I hope to have more stays there, it will be a great personal retreat space. this time we stayed with our 2 children who enjoyed it as much as I did.

  • The cottage was wonderful. It was clean, well lit, and matched the description. Also, the hammock was a real treat!! Libby and Silas were accommodating and hospitable -- we were greeted by them and their friendly dog when we arrived, they made sure we had everything we needed to stay the weekend, and were available to us should we need anything.

  • Libby and Silas are absolutely wonderful hosts. They even helped us one night when our car got stuck on a snowy hill! The cottage is lovely. February in Vermont is obviously bitter cold, but the place was stocked with warm blankets and a had nice gas fireplace. Top notch visit. Highly recommended.

  • A fabulously beautiful place to relax, walk, think, write, and read. Bring with you some simple foods, wine, coffee & tea and you'll have no reason to leave.

  • An excellent spot to escape city life. This remote cabin is exactly the spot you want to go to if you are out to avoid the city for a nice Vermont getaway.

    Brandon2016-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • Libby & Silas were so welcoming. On the night of our arrival, Libby stopped by and gave us some ideas of things to see and do since the weather was not ideal for outdoor activities. The cabin was exactly as described and perfect for the three of us who stayed there. It was the perfect place to get away and relax! I really loved their dog and the beautiful gardens around the cabin.

  • Wonderfully cozy and private cottage off the beaten trail for those who want a peaceful stay in Vermont. We didn't meet Libby and Silas in person since they were away for the weekend but they were great at communicating with us. Beautiful surrounding area! The cottage is clean and well stocked with books and games and has everything you will need in the kitchen. Note: you may have limited cell service and there is no wifi so plan ahead! Overall, we had such an awesome stay... Thanks Libby and Silas!

  • We just returned from a terrific trip to this Sweet Cottage! Snow had fallen just prior to our visit and we enjoyed daily cross-country ski tours right from the front door. The inside layout was perfect too, the small "kitchen" had a clever pull-out drawer for the microwave, a 3/4 fridge that held all that we needed and cabinet space for our pantry stuff. The two bedrooms were cozy and inviting and the updated bathroom was very nice. The gas stove kept the place warm and toasty and only required minor furniture rearranging to protect our 1-year old from reaching and/or touching the stove. The host's dog, Gil, was a great playmate for our 3-year black lab and the two spent hours on hours running around and playing in the snow. We can't wait to come back when there's more snow and also in the summer to enjoy another season in this beautiful area!

Cabin/camp on 28 acres available in beautiful Northeast Vermont. Please note the cabin is UNFURNISHED other than three cots and camping chairs. It is best used as a "camp" to enjoy an outdoor Vermont vacation. Hike and snowshoe from the door. Swim, fish, and kayak in Joe's Pond. Thirty minutes to Montpelier or Stowe. Scenic and peaceful Northeast location. Laundry and basic kitchen ware available.

  • I was looking for a remote place to unplug with my kids for a few days & do some hiking, a step up from camping with the convenience of bath & kitchen in a rustic setting, & this was perfect. It was larger than I anticipated, with a nice layout, wood stove, & nice, quiet, comfortable setting. The area is beautiful, & the pond close by was a plus for the kids to play in also, & it was great being able to bring the dog with us for a change. Brooke was very nice & helpful. Definitely recommend for some quiet time off the grid!

    Brandy2017-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was exactly what we expected based on the listing description. Our family of 4 ( kids 2 and 6) were originally planning on camping for this trip, however, our 2 year old has been having major difficulty falling asleep without screaming bloody murder first. We knew that we couldn't put our campground neighbors through that so we canceled our reservations and booked Brooke's cabin instead. Four walls and a roof over your head and a huge yard. Sleeping arrangements for 7 on the provided cots and bed. No furniture really, except for 5 folding camp chairs and a kitchen table. The full kitchen was nice. I would recommend bringing your own cookware if you are planning on cooking larger meals. 1 small saucepan and 1 small fry pan were provided in addition to basic utensils, plates, glasses, etc. Location is nice! Its down a private road off of a few dirt backroads. Very quiet! About a 10 minute drive to Joe's pond and the general store which you can get coffee at in the morning. (no coffee maker at the cabin). A couple of things that may be helpful to know: If you are looking for a romantic retreat with your special someone, this is not the place for that. The cabin is rustic, squeaks when you walk, and is pretty bare bones. You will find some dead bugs here and there. We felt safe staying there but it's not very secure. Some of the windows don't have locks and 1 of them didn't even have glass in it when we stayed there. Navigation tip: We were using WAZE to get around and it wants you to take "LOWER HARRINGTON HILL RD" to get to the cabin. Lower Harrington Hill is a class IV road that is permanently closed. You have to go a round about way and take Upper Harrington Hill Rd to get there. Your results may vary. Cell Phone Reception: AT&T was pretty good for the most part around the area.

St. Johnsbury is a bit worn, but has some wonderful shops on Railroad St, and Main St is lovely. Good restaurants and Dog Mountain was wonderful. A great couple of days.

Mardi met us as we arrived, made sure we had everything we needed, and was happy to chat or leave us to ourselves -- the perfect host. This sweet retreat sits privately with beautiful gardens and open yard tucked in the woods, but close enough to fun family entertainment, VT Breweries, Catamount Arts, Fairbanks Museum, beautiful hiking & biking trails, and a Corn Maze!
The space is open, bright, spacious and sunny with lots of light coming in the big windows adorned with various plants. Antique charm can be found throughout.
Danville, home of Vermont's smallest library, is about 15 min. from Saint Johnsbury, it has been called “Village in the Hills” for good reason as it is situated high in the hills, offering vistas of mountains and beautiful rolling fields. A small town with lots of New England charm, including many restaurants, a brewery, Catamount Arts, Fairbanks Museum and Planetarium, tree climbing close by, close to skiing and hiking and biking trails, lakes, ponds, etc.
  • Michele’s house was great! We really enjoyed the separate living space downstairs, away from the two upstairs bedrooms. It was easy to stay up and hang out after our daughter went to sleep. Having bathrooms on both floors was very convenient for us too. Our phones had little service in Danville, so we were very thankful for the free WiFi! Michele’s house was close to downtown Danville, and we enjoyed grabbing a delicious breakfast at Bentley’s Bakery and Cafe. It was also an easy drive to St. Johnsbury, Burke Mountain, and Lyndonville.

  • Michelle's house was a comfortable place to stay. She has a beautiful view of the woods from the living room and the wood stove in the kitchen is wonderful. Michelle was very easy to work with and she had a great group of people nearby to help with the house. Enjoy your stay!

Waterfront apartment - Ideal location for snowmobiling, biking, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, fishing, swimming, etc. Backyard access to the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail and VAST Trail. The LVRT is a 4 season multi-use recreational trail currently 33 miles. Once completed, the trail will be 93 miles running through farms and forests, right into the downtown districts of VT's scenic communities. For snowmobilers, the VAST Trail boasts over 6000 miles of remarkable trails.
If you love the outdoors you'll love the central location to our apartment. Not only do you have backyard access to Lamoille Valley Trail, but also Joe's Pond for kayaking, boating, and fishing. **We offer 3 kayaks and a canoe for our guests.
We are steps from Lamoille Valley Rail Trail that is used for year-around activities -- summer is great for biking, walking, running and winter you can snowshoe, cross-country ski, and snowmobile (it's part of the VAST trails!) Across the street is Hasting's Store and Joe's Pond Craft Shop. We are about a 5 minute drive from the center of Danville, which includes Bently's Bakery, Diamond Hill Store (for wine, fine cheese, chocolates, snacks) and Marty's 1st Stop that has all your grocery needs. Danville on the Green is also the center of town and has a great farmers market that goes from June - October. We are a short ride (about 10-12 minutes) to St. Johnsbury.

  • Thanks for a clean and bright place to explore this part of VT. The ponds are especially pretty at sunset. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen well stocked. The washer/dryer were brand new and quiet. Do note that the only bathroom is on the ground floor and the bedroom are upstairs - if you get up frequently at night, this is something to know about. Also, there was more road noise than we expected (especially in the mornings.) We liked staying here! Thanks.

    Nireekshith2016-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • The place was amazing, it was a fully furnished apartment plenty big enough for four people. The apartment was very nicely furnished, in my opinion better than was described on airbnb!!! It would be very handy if you have a car if you visit there just to get around a little easier. There was a great trail behind the house was very nice, a lot of people used it for snowmobiling and there was some runners and x-country skiers on it. The area was also very quiet and peaceful. Denise left a booklet of attractions in the area so we were never short on things to do. All in all would absolutely recommend this place to anyone for a nice quiet getaway!!!

    Brandon2017-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • (Only my 2nd AirBNB rental.) Nice quiet rural location in small town. Faux fire (albeit electric) was nice. Very clean and nice decorating touches. Good value for small 2BR (had everything we needed). Seating space would be a little tight for 4 but was nice/fine for 2. No closet/dresser in king bedroom (a little tight with sloped ceiling). ~40min to Craftsbury Outdoor Center where we went (not bad). Check out Danville Brewery if open fri/sat eve (very small but great beers/people). Can imagine in summer the pond out the back door is great! Overall nice stay and would go back.

    Michael2017-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • Denise's house was a perfect home base for our trip to visit family! Our kids loved the trail and being right on Joe's Pond, as well as having a restaurant and a few shops nearby. Not only is the immediate area great, but the house is located at the intersection of the two major roads in/out, so it was convenient for us to visit all sorts of people! We would happily stay here again.

Not much in St. Johnsbury but we used this as a hub for leave peeping. We would definitely stay here again. The bonus were the super soft towels, not the rough stuff you get in hotels!

  • Marysue was very nice and I greatly appreciated her flexibility with the check-in time as my friend and I were road-tripping, which made arrival time somewhat unpredictable. She had such a cozy home that made you feel comfortable very quickly. We really were just stopping on the way through, so we were there to sleep and move on in the morning. Neighborhood was quiet!

  • I came to Saint Johnsbury for a wedding at the meditation center nearby. I only stayed for one night and was gone mostly, but this was exactly what I needed for my quick trip. Marysue was very polite and warm. She accommodated changes to the reservation several times and was there to greet me when I arrived. She had kindly stocked the fridge with eggs, milk, OJ, and bread. Overall, she was a lovely host and very easy to communicate with. The home is as pictured, so expect an older, more country style home (including both the pros (i.e., rustic vibes) and cons (i.e., moths, dust) that come with that). There was a back patio as well with a little table for seating. The location is a convenient minute walk or so from a main town road. The bathroom is tiny, but has everything you need. The bed itself was comfortable and perfect size for just one person, but two could definitely fit. There was also a daybed in the kitchen/nook area that another person could stay on.

  • Marysue was very accomdodating and she allowed me to check in early after weather forced me to get there early. She provided breakfast supplies and the home was centrally located.

We had a very nice stay at Lori's farmhouse. It is a working dairy farm. We watched the cows being milked at 6 in the morning and 6 in the evening. We had great conversation with Lori and Beebee.
