  • Loved the tub!

    Katie2018-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • LOVE Debby’s place. As everyone said, the tub did not disappoint with its incredible view. Debby is quick to get to you with any questions and she added the cutest touches.

  • Quiet little space with a view, great host!

    Sean2018-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • Debby was very quick to respond and book the night for us. We were interested in staying in her quaint little town of Cathlamet, and it was just as expected, with extra little things that made it better. You need to take a bath in her tub. And drink the delicious coffee she leaves for the morning. Her tips for local restaurants, events, and shops was a great added touch.

    Jordan2018-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Debby is an amazing host, with a lot of great information and guidance to tourists. Her space is sparkling clean sand the tub is to die for. Debby left a lot of thoughtful touches in the space that went above and beyond.

    Bryce2018-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a perfect hideaway from all of the tourist traps. The room and adjoining master bath was completely private. You can see out over the garden and Columbia river from the jet tub. We absolutely enjoyed our stay with Debby. The linens were fresh and clean. There are a lot of little details from the soaps to the towls that just makes this place perfect. We wish we could have stayed longer!

    Tracy2016-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had a very comfortable stay and look forward to returning!

    Evon2018-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • I had the pleasure of meeting Debby. She is a wonderful host and we really enjoyed the view of the Columbia from her backyard.

Breakfast in fridge when you arrive. Wi-Fi. Direct TV. DVD/VHS and a selection of movies. Great place to relax, walk, read a book! A ferry ride and 25 miles from Astoria. NOTE: the bridge between Cathlamet and Puget Island will be closed starting in July, 9 pm-5am, Sun-Thursdays. Ferry will run overnight, free.
The island is a great place to bicycle and walk. A continental breakfast will be in the fridge for your first morning. The space fits a couple the best, with a queen bed in the bedroom. The apartment in on a second floor and there is an electric chair up the steps for those who need it. Please help us keep as much sand as possible outside, and wash your dishes before check-out. Leave the kitchen in the shape that you find it!
Puget Island is a beautiful rural location in the middle of the Columbia River. All islands west of us are part of national refuges. There are boat launches on the island and in Cathlamet, used by many fishers. Nearby sloughs and the river itself are used by kayakers who can launch from the beach across from our house. We are bird watchers and the island is part of a yearly bird count each December when the area is full of wintering birds.
  • We had a wonderful experience staying at Carol and George's farm. Loved the location, the views, and the humming birds feeding on nectar right on our porch. The hosts were extremely accommodating and friendly. We enjoyed the tour on the farm and conversations about growing plants. The island itself is very charming. Our stay there was everything we expected and more. Thank you Carol and George.

  • I made a very last-minute booking for a quick getaway from Seattle. So glad I did-- what a great place! I arrived to a very clean yet homey place in such a beautiful setting. I wish I'd been able to stay longer to get a garden tour, hear more about what they do at the farm, and enjoy the quiet. The beach across the street had an incredible sunset, and my dog and I enjoyed exploring along the road in the morning. Delicious breakfast included with the stay, and I bought some kale and swiss chard before heading home. I plan to be back!

    Elizabeth2015-06-21T00:00:00Z
  • We arrived at Carol and George's place very late after a long day of driving the Oregon Coast. We took the car ferry over to the island, which was easy enough to use. The place itself was perfect! We had a quiet, restful and relaxing night there. The bed was super comfortable, and the homemade goodies left out for us were delicious! I especially loved the scones. Only wish we could have stayed a bit longer to enjoy it more. If you're going to be in the area, I would absolutely recommend to stay here!

    Callie2015-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • After staying a second night at this 'farm', we were less than impressed by the accommodations. We found that the post-it note reminders of the various rules were overbearing. We quickly realized that even though the host stated that the listing was dog-friendly, they do not like dogs, and are unrealistic in their expectations of dog-owning guests. The apartment decor was very dated, with older thrift store-style furniture. The kitchen was poorly stocked, and had no stovetop or oven to prepare food. We do not recommend this apartment/host for travelers with dogs.

    Kate2014-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • The farmstay apartment was everything we could have hoped for. We watched and listened to a large group of seals from the beach that was across the street. We sat on the covered porch and listened to the sounds of frogs, chickens, and the rain falling on the rooftop as I sipped some of the homemade berry wine that was provided. My girlfriend saw a family of deer in the morning. Carol left a delicious breakfast for us that included homemade scones and hard boiled eggs fresh from their farm. It was great!!!

    Paul2015-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • I wish we had more time to spend at Carols farmstay. It was such a wonderful stay we were sad we had to leave! Waking up to rooster singing was so pleasant and rural! It's exactly the escape I've been needing for a while now. Thank you Carol for the plum wine! Everything is exactly as it states on the listing

    Kat2015-04-26T00:00:00Z
  • Very peaceful little place. A perfect respite from all the noise and crowds of the Seattle area. Enjoyed miles of car free biking on the island and quiet roads and trails nearby. Place is very cozy and has everything you might need for a few days getaway. Bed was small for 2 and a bit soft but otherwise it was exactly what we wanted.

    Cyrus2018-05-06T00:00:00Z

Come to Rog's Retreat on Puget Island to treat yourself to luxury! Or give a night or two as a gift to someone you love. Rog's Retreat guest cottage sits among our flower and vegetable gardens. The retreat sleeps four (two on the futon in the sitting room). It is equipped with hot plate, under counter refrigerator, microwave, toaster, coffee maker and electric tea kettle. An outdoor barbecue and a ready-to-light fire pit enhance the experience! A basket of fruit, snacks, coffee and tea will get your started. Plus we have popcorn to pop and s'more makings at the ready. Rog's Retreat is ideal for a biking, kayaking or fishing trip or use as overflow lodging for your guests. Fish locally for salmon, steelhead and sturgeon (we will provide you with up to the minute fishing reports). Our island and surrounding waterways provide many miles of protected kayak paddling and 30 flat miles for bicycling. For more local kayaking information, go to (URL HIDDEN) While you're here you can stroll around the farm, check out the flower and vegetable gardens, gather the eggs and admire our garden, whatever suits your frame of mind! Roast marshmallows over the campfire, launch your kayak from our property, bird watch from the porch or take a bicycle ride around the island. The possibilities are many and varied! Our guest cottage is a non-smoking building with no TV reception (VCR and DVD provided). Reading and game playing are encouraged. Children are welcome as long as they remain in parental control. They will love to swing on the swing set, play horseshoes, and watch the chickens and geese. They can also help gather eggs with the farmer! Dogs are welcome guests too! If you are spending one night or a week, you are certain to love this cozy home away from home.
Puget Island is a lovely, serene island in the Lower Columbia River, about 50 miles downstream from Portland, OR and about 25 miles upstream from Astoria, OR. Our closest 'big' town is Longview, WA. Cathlamet is a tiny town, located in tiny Wahkiakum County. The town has a really well stocked grocery store, Tsuga, a lovely art gallery and Scribbles which has hand painted and glazed pottery. We also have a craft brewery (open on the weekends) and a few very basic restaurants. Down the road is the Julia Butler Wildlife preserve which is great for birding and deer watching. In Skamokawa is Redmen Hall with a beautiful interpretive center and gift store. Our claim to fame is we have no stoplights in our county! There is a bridge from Cathlamet to the island and a small ferry from the island to Westport, Oregon.
  • Diane is great. She is waiting for us outside to help us find the house. The house is quite and difficult to find. But Diane knows that and help us very kindly. I like the breakfast and the eggs. The room was so quite and lovely. Perfect for couples.

    Hongxiang2016-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Diane came and met us when we arrived at Rog's Retreat. Everything was perfect (and beyond expectation!) - the cottage was warm, there were homemade treats waiting for us, the logs were stacked in the firepit, and the s'mores set up was the cherry on top of it all. We saw a young buck behind the cottage, and geese were waddling around in the morning. Stay at Rog's Retreat was one of the best Airbnb experiences we've had so far, and we can't wait to go back and spend more time!

    Ben & Anika2014-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • This farm cottage and the farm was a wonderful get away. If you want a farm experience, then make this one of your stops along the way.

    Alice2017-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • Rog's Retreat is a wonderful place! It was the most well-appointed Airbnb we've visited. It seemed as though Diane and Rob truly thought of everything - from the homemade breakfast treats to the ample (and comfortable) pillows. We weren't lacking for anything. The place itself was spotless and very charming. It's quiet and private, and our dogs loved the trail that winds around the property. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway!

    Emily2018-03-30T00:00:00Z
  • A quaint very peaceful country cottage. We spent a night on our way from Seattle to the Oregon Coast. Diane was a very gracious host, easy to communicate with. She provided a few delicious breakfast items for us. The cottage is very clean and comfortable. Although we didn't have much time to spend and enjoy the place, it was overall a very pleasant stay.

    Marcella2015-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Diane's place "Rog's Retreat" was the perfect weekend getaway. We enjoyed cooking on the BBQ, making smores, and drinking a cup of french press coffee on the porch in the morning. Love that our little pup could join us too!

    Laurel2018-04-01T00:00:00Z
  • After a 10 hour drive, we arrived at the charming town of Cathlamet, drove across a picturesque bridge to an island in the Columbia River and were warmly greeted by Diane and Rob who showed us to this wonderful cottage at the back of their property. With a giant rose hedge for privacy in front, and a wild wetlands area in back complete with deer and fox, it was enchanting. The cabin is even more lovely than in the photos. When you step in the door, the lofty ceiling and plentiful windows lift your spirit. Everything about it was delightful. The sheets and towels were the best. The fridge was quiet. Two porches so you could find a cozy place to sit outside. Diane left us some yummy things for breakfast, homemade granola bars, bread and jam, along with coffee fixin's and fruit. My dog and I enjoyed walking about the grounds, and it was totally private, with only a chuckle or two from the neighboring ducks and geese. We were actually exhausted, and slept about 10 hours straight, a record for two light sleepers! The shower was nice, hot and massaging. Everything was very clean and well made and well loved. When I looked Puget Island up on the map, I noticed there was no bridge from the island to the Oregon side. To our delight, we discovered that there is a ferry that runs on the hour. For $5 you can experience a fun trip that takes about 15-20 minutes. We will definitely try to come back and stay for a couple of days next time. The area is really lovely and worth exploring.

    Geri2014-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • Rob and Diane were excellent hosts! Having a fire set in the nearby fire pit for roasting s'mores, homemade bread and granola bars, and just having a sweet home-away-from-home for a night made our experience great!

Our 322 sq ft. vacation rental apartment is next door to, but separate from our two bedroom Twin Gables Inn on Skamokawa Creek. Best for two, but sleeps four in a pinch (queen sleeper sofa in living room). One level, 5 steps up to the porch. The apartment does not front on the creek, but it is 30 feet from the back door to the water's edge. Small dog with prior permission only. Dog-friendly park, wildlife refuge and Fairgrounds short walk away. Astoria and Long Beach an hour's drive.
One bedroom apartment with kitchenette. Can sleep two couples. Queen bed in bedroom. Queen sleeper in living room. Small bath with stand up shower. All linens and towels provided. Kitchenette has stove/oven, small refrigerator, toaster, coffee maker and microwave. Pots, pans and utensils provided. Fresh-ground coffee. Boat dock for up to 25'. On Skamokawa Creek, just off the lower Columbia River. Not suitable for sailboats due to low bridge. For canoes and kayaks, a small boat launch is just down the creek from us We are a short walk from a general store, the Redmen Hall Friends of Skamokawa Museum and bookshop, a wildlife refuge with several miles of flat, lightly used road for cycling, Skamokawa Vista Park, where you can walk one of the few beaches along the Columbia River. Breakfast, or our 'Simple Suppers' are available in next-door B&B for $15/pp for those who want a break from cooking. The apartment includes free wifi (CenturyLink 'up to' 10 mbps) and an internet ready TV with a Netflix subscription. A (mostly) outdoors cat does reside on the property but is not allowed in the guest rooms or in the apartment. Note on location. A major search engine maps us a few miles away from where we actually are. We are in central Skamokawa, a 5 minute walk from the general store and paddle center, and across the highway from Skamokawa Vista Park. We are located on the waterside of Skamokawa Creek, which empties into the Columbia River just downstream.
We are in the Skamokawa National Historic District. Houses here face Skamokawa Creek. The creek was once the town's 'Main Street', as much travel was done via water. There was no through-road to Skamokawa until the 1930s. The human population is small, outnumbered by a variety of wildlife. You may see deer in the yard, Eagles, Osprey and Red-Tailed Hawks are common sights, as are Herons and many migrating water-fowl. You may hear coyotes yipping in the evening. Beaver, Otter and Nutria are often seen in the local sloughs.
  • Great place to stay! Clean! Easy to communicate with the host.

    Amy2015-06-14T00:00:00Z
  • Kathleen was nice and welcoming. She was easy to get a hold of. There were delicious macaroons waiting for us when we got to the room. The description of place and neighborhood were accurate.

    Lena2015-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment at this B&B is a fine place if you need to stay in Skamokawa. It's a quiet, riparian outpost. As the host stated upon our arrival, people come here for solitude. No river view from apt. Host was kind and even brought coffee.

    Melissa2014-06-23T00:00:00Z
Thanks Ms. Kathleen!

    Angela2016-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Loved the quiet rural area. The apt was very clean. The cooking facilities were adequate, we cooked there every night. Would recommend for solitude and lovely walks in Vista park and the beach.

    Millie2013-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Finding this spot is a bit of a trick as there is no sign. It's the big maroon building across from the Park. Once we found it was all gravy though. Kathleen was a thoughtful and responsive host. She even made us ice cubes before we arrived and had a little jar of coffee waiting. The apartment is cute and all the utilities worked well. Especially loved the little patio table with chairs for dinner while the sun sets. It's a short walk to the park and the community store which is nice if you want to score cooking essentials or ingredients. The water smells a bit funny but if you let it run for a second the strange odor disappears. Highly recommend as it very affordable and relaxing.

    Lee2013-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • My sister and I were only able to stay for one night, and had my dog with us. We sure wish we could have enjoyed it longer, this is such a quaint little down and so very quiet! Thank you for everything, it was lovely, and we appreciate you making us feel so welcome :) Home made cookies and a happy birthday note, really thoughtful, and your property is just beatiful and well loved! We will be back!

    Virginia2015-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • I could live here! The space was so cute and comfortable. It was very well designed to fit all the necessary things in a smaller space -- but not too small and certainly felt roomy! There were hummingbirds outside on the porch giving us a show and a nice romantic creek-side dock. Actually, 2 lounge chairs is what I should have packed for the dock! If it were warmer it would have been a great place to swim. If I had a little boat, it would be a great place to arrive via boat and spend the night.

Within two miles of the Cathlamet city center, with the Tsuga Gallery and River Mile 38 Brewery (live music every Sat. 5-8 pm). The Puget Island Farmers Market every Friday from 3-6 pm, with live music. Some public beaches on the island and nearby is the JBH White-tailed Deer Refuge. The house is right on the water. Several nearby launches that we own for paddling. Perfect for individuals, families with well-behaved kids (remember we're right next to a tidal-influenced body of water), and pets.
This beautiful waterfront retreat is the perfect place for a weekend getaway. This two-story charming home offers great views of the water on the wrap-around porch and quiet pastoral views out front. Songbirds are around year-round feeding on the berries and nesting in trees on the property. We operate a creamery about a quarter mile from the house and stock the fridge with fresh butter, cream, and milk as well as fresh-baked breakfast goods for your breakfast.
  • So pretty to stay right on the slough. For being so rural, it was a surprisingly good hub-and-spoke center for getting from Seattle to Astoria, Portland, Oregon beaches, etc. Fully stocked kitchen with the creamery's milk and butter in the fridge.

    Diana2017-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful! We loved our time at Melissa and Dick's- the house is beautiful and we saw river otters as we made dinner. They stocked the fridge with goodies and even vegan options after asking us our dietary restrictions. The deck is gorgeous and the area is lovely. Could not recommend more. Thank you Melissa and Dick!

    Mackenzie2016-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • For us, this was a quiet mid-winter, weekend get-away - and we were very pleased to settle in with a cup of tea, the water view over the deck from the living room, resident herons and ducks, and a few walks in the local area when weather allowed. The house is comfortable and the beds were great. The kitchen is well-equipped with pots, pans, knives, etc.. That's important because local dining options are limited. Local food shopping options are also limited. Bring the supplies you need. We did appreciate eggs, local creamery butter and homemade bread provided for breakfast. We happened to be there when the Norse Hall just across the bridge visible from the property held its annual crab and oyster feed fundraiser. That was a treat to share with local families. Everyone was friendly and welcoming. The high school students pressed into service did a great job to keep every table piled with steamed seafood and clear the shells. Bring your own crackers, shucking knives and sauces!

  • My family and I had a brief stay at this lovely home. It is very relaxing with a beautiful view. Quaint, secluded and very sweet. There was even delicious dairy products left for us from the Little Island Creamery just up the road, and one of the owners brought us some homemade bread - so kind! Overall, a great stay.

    Jessica!2017-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed staying here. It is a quite, out of the way place. We really enjoyed sitting on the near by beach and watching ships go by and the laid back pace of island.

    Kyle2017-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • There are amazing windows on all sides of the home looking out onto the slough. The view is amazing. The house has just been remodeled and is much nicer than conveyed by the photos. We arrived to a refrigerator full of dairy products and apples from Mrs. Melissa's dairy. She went out of her way to make our stay wonderful. We can't wait until our next visit.

    Holly2016-09-19T00:00:00Z

  • We are so happy we chose this place to stay for our little getaway. The farm was refreshing and restful. The location is sublime and beautiful. Kitty and Dawn are gracious hosts and made us feel welcome and comfortable. The room was wonderful, clean, and well-appointed. We especially enjoyed playing with Bruce the dog!

  • Kitty and Don were wonderful friendly hosts. As soon as we arrived, they welcomed us into their beautiful home. We enjoyed our conversation on their cozy couches and felt very comfortable in their clean home. Living in a city, it was a nice escape into the country. They gave us a tour of their property and let us feed their adorable pigs. It's amazing that they are able to live off their land. We had a true farm to fork brunch that was delicious on their fabulous sun porch. We had plans to go the beach so they provided a great recommendation for dinner at the beach, but next time I look forward to trying their dinners or one of their cooking classes. Also, the bed was so comfortable…my husband and I got the best sleep. They live on 15 acres so it's very quiet. Their description of the place was spot on, but it was even better then our expectations. As mentioned, we will be coming back and look forward to sharing the word with our friends and family.

  • The Crippen Creek Farm is peaceful, cozy, and yummy! Don and Kitty are very gracious and hospitable hosts. The room was absolutely lovely - I could hear the creek at night and see the stars in the sky from my bed!

  • Kitty and Don have a gorgeous house that offers a welcome reprieve from the frenetic pace of professional life. It's the perfect place for going off the grid to recharge and the beautiful property is ideal for mindful hikes/walks. Kitty and Don are extremely gracious hosts and Don's culinary skills are amazing!

  • My significant other and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay with Don and Kitty. Their home is immaculate and exactly as described. Don and Kitty made us feel like family and we're eager to return for more delicious farm grown food and engaging conversation. Can't wait to come back!

  • Staying with Kitty and Don was such a treat. The food was incredible and the conversation was warm and engaging. The house is lovely and the room has three large windows that look out on to the lawn and lush trees by the creek. A wonderful place to wake up. My partner and I loved meeting the other guests over meals and enjoying tea on the front porch, and walking around on the old logging roads by the property. This is the perfect place to stay for a weekend getaway - it's far enough away from the city to be quiet, peaceful and calm, but not too far of a drive from Portland. We loved exploring the town and took a lovely scenic drive to the coast, which is close. Kitty and Don are gracious hosts -- they accommodated my dietary needs, gave us great suggestions for stuff to do nearby, and are generally great people. I really recommend having them make dinner for you when you go visit! It's worth it. I can't recommend their place enough, we are already planning to go back.

    Liz2015-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • From the moment Kitty opened the door, I felt at home. She was warm and genuine and welcoming, and it wasn't long before she, Don, my boyfriend Drew and I were enjoying the relaxed, easy conversation of old friends. The food Don made both for dinner and breakfast was some of the best we had in our ten days out West, and that's saying something given the foodie towns of Portland and Seattle we stayed in along the way. The room was clean, comfortable, and inviting, with attention paid to details spanning from offering shampoo and conditioner to beautiful flowers to bedside truffles. Add that to the idyllic setting and it simply doesn't get better than this.

The house was custom built as a B&B, each room has unique character with great views of the grounds. The lower floor rooms all have patios facing the pond, while the upstairs room has a balcony over looking the pond.
The Washington town of Skamokawa is located on the Columbia River at River Mile (RM) 33.5, where Steamboat Slough joins the mouth of the Skamokawa Creek. Skamokawa was founded in 1844. Originally the town was a river community known as "Little Venice", and was visited daily by large stern-wheel steamboats running between Portland and Astoria. The homes and businesses were built facing the river. In 1917 that the town was linked by road to the neighboring communities, and in the early 1930s Washington State Highway 4 was finished linking Skamokawa to the rest of the state. Seven miles upstream from Skamokawa is Cathalamet, Washington. Just offshore lies Price Island, part of the Julia Butler Hansen Refuge for Columbian White-Tailed Deer. Downstream are the "points" of Three Tree and Jim Crow. Pillar Rock lies 6 miles downstream. Lewis and Clark spent the nights of November 7 and November 25 at Pillar Rock. The name "Skamokawa" is an original Chinook Indian name meaning "Smoke on the water", referring to the fog often encountered at the mouth of Skamokawa Creek.
  • Adam and Sara's place was comfortable and homey. My stay there was simply overnight, but wish I had had more time there. It was very scenic and serene. My room had a balcony that was good for star gazing (and watching the sunset if you get there early enough). Sara was kind and left out some fruit and bread for me since she knew I'd be leave early in the morning. I would love to return and recommend it to anyone. It is a bit of a drive to get there, but worth it.

  • We loved our stay with Jessica & friends at The Lucky Mud Inn. The room is spacious and was immaculate, with thoughtful touches everywhere: soft lighting, lovely bedding, nice soap, great mattress. The grounds and garden are lush and inviting, and the whole vibe of the place is relaxed and welcoming. Breakfast was gorgeous; berries & eggs collected that day, and Jessica is a terrific cook and an easy host. It was a great stay in every way.

  • We had a LOVEY time at this little sanctuary! Right as we walked outside our room, there was a pond! Everything was so quiet and peaceful! We loved it! The breakfasts were wonderful and fresh from her garden! Our host was absolutely a gem!

    Michelle2015-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful gem worth the drive! Beautiful landscape and scenery with deer right outside our balcony overlooking the pond! Adam is a great cook and made us an amazing hearty breakfast!

  • The Inn at Lucky Mud is off the beaten path but beautiful & peaceful. Adam and Sara are fantastic hosts, the rooms are large and clean, the 40 acre grounds are spectacular and Adam's breakfast is delicious. We highly recommend, even if you aren't into frisbee golf!

    Jeff2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful and spacious home with balconies and sitting areas with a lovely view of the outdoors. It seems this is also a favorite local of a little family of deer, :). If you don't mind the drive through some beautiful country side, you will love this place.

  • Thank you for hosting us! We had a great weekend get away in a beautiful location and look forward to returning! Both Adam and Sara were attentive and great hosts! The grounds were secluded but beautiful!

  • We had 3 different groups of fishermen on 3 consecutive nights. We cooked dinner and did breakfast at 4am. Returned in late afternoon to greet the next group. We Kayaked, walked the farm and relaxed on the deck. What a great escape!! Everyone had all positive things to say about the place.

    Herb2016-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • We had the most amazing stay at the Columbia river ranch!!! We had 11 people and just wanted to have a nice staycation away from the city. The house totally exceeded my expectations. It was clean, beautiful, and had plenty of space. We had a great time at the dock, grilling, making smores at the Bon fire, and seeing the animals. It was the perfect, quiet, relaxing getaway. Also, Julie was super responsive and flexible. I would definitely recommend this place and hope to stay again!!!

    Dayna2016-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • We had such an awesome time, the kitchen was perfect for cooking big meals and sharing stories at the dinner table, the barn fun to dance in when the weather wasn't great, and the living room with just enough couches for us to all play games together. Those terry cloth robes were also just fabulous. Everyone was rested in their beds and we made some fantastic memories in the barn. Cathlamet will forever be a place we look back on with fondness, down to the charming and quiet roads we ran on in the mornings. Thank you for the best home base!

    JoAnne2017-04-23T00:00:00Z
  • This is the perfect place to stay with a group of people. Ample bedding options and a comfortable place to hang out! We enjoyed our time there and Julie was a great at communicating with us about everything we needed to know before and during our stay!

    Talia2016-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • What a unique and beautiful place! Hosted a group of friends here for my birthday weekend and had an amazing time! If you live in Portland, the location is really special, only 1.5 hrs drive, but feels like you're far away from the city. The house is not only as it looks in pictures, but even more spacious and very attractive, filled with thoughtful rustic touches. The kitchen is huge and well-equipped and is a wonderful space for entertaining. We made both dinner and breakfast there and the dinner table fits 8 or 9 easily. There are a ton of beds, including really cute pull out sofas and daybeds and well-appointed bathrooms (they even supply both bath towels and beach towels for the dock). The private dock has enough kayaks and SUPs for at least 8 people to be on the water at a time and the dock is on a braid of the river so the current is lazy enough to make for easy paddling. We hung out on the boats a lot - such fun! Saw lots of birds including an eagle. The house is on a working cattle ranch, so we had a chance to see horses and also a flock of geese. The fire pit with wood provided was lovely on a full moon. We spent several hours by the fire. Finally, the 9:44 pm attached event space (which we didn't need, but was available for our use) added to the fun. We had a mini dance party and took turns on the "throne" (double seat for bride and groom during weddings). Finally, our host Julie was exceedingly gracious, helpful, and accommodating as well as the woman that showed us around when we arrived. What a wonderful time, I'm already looking forward to coming back here!

    Stacey2015-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful place to stay- lovely, quiet and welcoming. It is a working farm but the guest house is set on a quiet corner, near the dock. We saw a car pass by once every couple of hours but other then that, it was just the birds. A great spot for a family gathering or a quiet get away.

    Mary2015-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • This Airbnb is exactly as described. Very clean, well organized, lots of space. We even saw some cattle. Beth was a great host and gave us the right information about nearby towns with restaurants which was very helpful for our group of nine.

    Siddarth2017-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • The barn was fantastic! Everything is new, clean, and nice. We felt like at home! You can have nice time playing games, seeing the farms animals with the kids...We enjoyed also visiting around the Columbia river, especially Pillard road.

  • Kathleen and her husband run a beautiful Bed and Breakfast. As you enter their property you feel in a B&B in the country side in Europe. The room was cozy, clean and inviting, the common areas (sitting room, dining room) were delightfully warm and welcoming (they even had bird and plants books there) . Hot cocoa and tea was waiting for us outside our room, next to a fridge for our convenience and freshly baked brownies were waiting for us in our room. The property is right on the Columbia creek and we could see the humming birds feeding off Kathleen's feeder all day long. Breakfast was truly delightful and Kathleen made sure to accommodate our GF needs. We had a great time!

    Avital2016-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • A cute little B&B on the water here as shown. We were welcomed by Kathleen's husband, cookies in the room, nice ambience, a very comfortable queen bed and a private bath off the bedroom - just as advertised. The breakfast the next morning was first rate - fresh fruit, juice, scrambled eggs, sausage, potatoes, toast and coffee. Very nice.

    Charles2015-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • We had a very enjoyable stay at the Twin Gables. As the other reviews state, Kathleen is very helpful and goes above and beyond in service. The breakfast was was wonderful! The room was clean and the entire place was quite charming. And so many of the little things done well there add up to make the experience great.

    Jonathan2017-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • My mom and I were on a road trip and wanted to stay a couple of days in a nice peaceful place. We found the perfect spot! Twin Gables is a beautiful house and we were able to fully relax. Our stay was amazing. Kathleen is a wonderful hostess and makes a delicious breakfast. The house is clean, bright, and offers lounging areas inside and outside on the decks of the front and back patios. We enjoyed sitting on the back patio that faces the river bird watching for hours. Just across the street from the house there is a park with a sandy "beach" area for swimming. I hope to be back soon to Twin Gables Inn in the near future, and I highly recommend it to anyone.

    Zulema2017-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed here one night and just loved it! Every detail and need is catered for in this beautiful B and B. The house has so much personality and far superior to those soulless hotels which cost more! The house backs up to a lazy river with a porch to watch the humming birds compete for the feeder. Breakfast huge, fresh and sets you up for the day. The owner, Kathleen, could not do enough.

    Seoirse2017-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic experience, would absolutely stay here again. Kathleen makes a delicious breakfast. The room was great and very tastefully decorated. The property is easy to find and also in a picturesque and quiet spot, makes for an excellent getaway. Kathleen definitely minds all the little details, A+.

    Kevin2016-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • We booked Kathleen's Inn sort of last minute but were so happy we did. Upon arrival, she was able to give us some fantastic dinner recommendations and ideas on local walks. We got to check out the beach across the street and even made a couple friends, so thanks Kathleen! She also had ice cream sandwiches and homemade breakfast like nothing I've ever had. She truly puts her heart into the B&B and it shines through with her hard work. Thank you so much for your hospitality and we hope to come back next time we're near Washington!

The Inn At Crippen Creek Farm offers a respite from the hectic rhythm of everyday life. Stroll our 15 acres, rest by the creek, enjoy the beauty of our farm, the garden, the orchard and the livestock. Your stay includes a continental breakfast. We also offer optional gourmet dinners and cooking classes. On weekends you can enjoy live music and craft beers in nearby Cathlamet at River Mile 38 Brewery.
The Inn At Crippen Creek Farm is a 15 acre organic farm nestled in a quiet, remote valley in the Willapa Hills. Our guests love the gourmet food, they are charmed by the animals but I think it is the quietness that speaks loudest to them. In a world that is increasingly addicted to noise and speed, silence becomes golden.
We love the quiet and lack of traffic. No sirens, no booming stereos. We can count on one hand the number of vehicles that we see while on a walk or bike ride. A morning walk is a real treat.
  • Great place if you are looking for some quiet time. Kitty and Don were wonderful people and great chefs.

    Mark2017-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • One of my best experiences on Airbnb. Kitty and Don are great hosts. The house is very clean and welcoming. The homemade breakfast surpasses many popular restaurants in the city. We are looking forward to visit again.

  • We stupidly booked the wrong date so weren't able to join Kitty and Don as we'd hoped, but though we probably put them to much trouble and inconvenience, they couldn't have been more understanding and sympathetic. We've subsequently rebooked and are excited about finally getting to stay with them!

    Ian2015-06-28T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Crippen Creek Inn was wonderful. From the time we arrived,to the time we reluctantly left, we were surrounded by a warmth of hospitality from our hosts,Kitty and Don. The Inn is beautifully appointed, our room was spotless and spacious and the environment was tranquil and relaxing. We enjoyed marvellous breakfasts and joined Kitty and Don for an evening meal, which was not only superbly cooked and presented (and included mainly produce grown on site), but also gave us an opportunity to engage in lively banter around the large table, along with other guests. This visit created memories, ones we will cherish. As I'm sure the reader will have gathered by now,we heartily recommend Crippen Creek Inn!

  • It was an amazing experience staying at Kitty&Don's farm! From the peaceful environment to the comfortable&clean room and the incredible delicious food Don made! There was another guest with her kids staying there the same time while we stayed , they even called ahead and reserved farm-experience for the kids(we got to watch the kids feed the pigs and picked up eggs. That was sooo cute), so it's also great for families. We payed extra for eating dinner there as well, totally worth it and definitely a better option than driving out 20mins to the tiny "downtown" of Skamokawa for some grocery shop food. Also Kitty and Don are really nice people to talk with, they really give you the feeling that you are just staying at a fd's house. We are definitely going back to stay next time~!

    Sisi2015-05-24T00:00:00Z
  • Kitty and Don could not have been more hospitable! We felt like we were visiting old friends. Don is an amazing chef and is passionate about his baking. Breakfasts were wonderful and we immensely enjoyed a Southern dinner for a reasonable extra fee. We would recommend the Inn at Crippen Creek to anyone who is looking for a peaceful, country getaway.

    Rick2016-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • We reserved a room at Crippen Creek for one night on our week-long road trip up the coast. It was a bit of a detour, but the drive was scenic and relaxing. We both agreed that our stay there was definitely the highlight of our trip! The property is beautiful and impeccably maintained and we knew the moment we arrived that we were in for a treat. Our hosts, Kitty and Don, warmly greeted us as "instant friends". After we settled in, we were offered a glass of wine, which was a lovely complement to Don's delicious appetizers. The optional dinner is highly recommended, if you enjoy engaging conversation and delectable food! There was more delicious food at breakfast, unquestionably a cut above most b&b offerings. Thank you, Kitty and Don for sharing your perfectly lovely place and for your warm and welcoming hospitality. Our only regret is that we booked just one night. We look forward to the next time!
