Appena prenotato a Bacton

A pet friendly brick and flint cottage in the heart of Happisburgh on the Norfolk coast. The Gig House is perfect for summer breaks or winter escapes alike and is ideally located just 10 minutes from a glorious sandy beach.
The Gig House sleeps: 2 adults and a baby/toddler. We welcome pets - up to 2 large or medium dogs or 3 small dogs, 2 cats and any pet in a cage - and charge £25 per dog or cat per visit. We live across the courtyard and, hopefully, will be there to welcome you and to deal with any questions or requests at any time during your stay. It is located in one of Norfolk's most picturesque coastal villages. The village itself is now famous for the oldest evidence of human activity outside of Africa with footprints discovered on the beach to be over 900 thousand years old. The cosy local pub, within 50 yards of the cottage, echoes the local connection with Sherlock Holmes author Arthur Conan Doyle who visited many times and wrote one of the detective mysteries here. There is also a small shop and post office in the village. In fact the local villagers will proudly boast of the number of other illustratrious visitors who have been drawn to this unique place from Robinson Cruso author Daniel Defoe, cricketer W.C. Grace, sculptors Henry Moore and Barbara Hepworth, poet John Betjeman, writer PD James and even the Queen Mother once arriving by helocopter to visit a cousin who lived in the village. The village is a must for those who enjoy the English countryside and its beaches in all seasons. Parking is in the courtyard or on the very quiet lane outside the house. Bus stop 20 m from Albion Cottage but with an infrequent country service. Train station 7 miles away. All week long bookings start on a Saturday and short breaks start on a Monday or Friday, except at Christmas. We do not accept short breaks (less than a week) at peak times (school holidays). Out of season we can be more flexible with length of stay and start day. If you have a larger party this property can be booked in conjunction with Albion Cottage at a special rate (property also on Airbnb).

  • The Gig House is beautiful, tucked away by the church in a sleepy little village but just a few minutes walk from a long, sandy beach. We really enjoyed our stay, the house is so well appointed I was able to cook a full meal for friends while we were there. Everything was clean, the house very warm and the bed comfy. The Gig House was a great base for exploring the beautiful Norfolk coastline. Liz made us very welcome with fresh flowers on the table and scones and jam, very welcome after our long drive.

    Ali2014-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • Liz's place is ideal for couples and is well situated for the local beach and better known tourist spots in Norfolk. The local pub is friendly too and we would recommend gig house to those looking to stay half way along the coast between Cromer and Gt. Yarmouth

    Lisa2016-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • Wow what a place The Gig is.!! Have had a lovely few days staying here in this wonderfully presented home from home. Liz has done an amazing job with setting everything out just right, nice furnishings and facilities, all perfectly clean. Lovely comfy bed and the shower is good too. Nice and warm everywhere with the underfloor heating. Everything is of a very good standard and really is a home from home. There were some nice little cake treats on arrival and Liz was really nice when checking me in. Tea, coffee, milk etc. all there ready for a brew, in the very well equipped kitchen. One of the best AirBnB's I've stayed in so far, it was absolutely perfect.!!! Will definitely be back.!! :-)

  • The Gig House was wonderful, cosy, very comfortable, and quiet. I had a fantastic time sitting by the fire, eating the delicious scones and listening to the wind! Perfect location, and a very nourishing space. Thank you for such attention to detail, I felt very cared for as a guest.

    Rosie2016-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • The accommodation was even better than expected. The welcome was great, we arrived quite late in the evening, so it was great to be greeted with a couple of scones to refresh us. Everything was in very good order, spotlessly clean and perfectly maintained. Couldn't have been better.

    Gerry2014-11-18T00:00:00Z
  • Gig House is a wonderful little cottage in a pretty, quiet village. We really enjoyed our stay here. The cottage is stylishly decorated and very cozy - even without lighting the stove and all the candles provided. It's very well equipped - Liz seems to have thought of everything - from a hair dryer to coffee beans and a grinder. We stayed with our 3 month old son, and there was also a travel cot and stair gate (not needed yet!). Liz provided a warm welcome and was friendly and helpful. We really liked the scones, clotted cream and jam we found when we arrived! Happisburgh is a lovely little village, with a pub and a couple of cafes, well located for exploring the Norfolk Broads. The beach is a short walk away, and we even saw seals there on one visit. Breakfast at the Small Sticks cafe is highly recommended. Overall this was one of our best AirBnB stays, a place that was even better than we'd hoped.

  • Great location, gorgeous cottage and lovely host

    Lindsey2017-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a wonderful time at Gig House we decided to extend our stay. The place is beautiful, comfortable, quiet and charming. Pretty, pleasant little courtyard, Netflix, wifi and cliff and country walks from the door. The pub is only a minute's walk away but is not close enough to be noisy - in fact the beer festival was on while we were there and it didn't disturb us at all. Food in pub is so-so but friendly staff. Beach is about a 10 minute walk away with seals and sand. There is a small shop in the village but erratic opening times so is best to stock up elsewhere. Definitely going back to Gig House.

This lovely bright and welcoming home is close to the vibrant market towns of North Walsham and Stalham. We are ideally situated on the North Norfolk coast just a short stroll away from a stunning sandy beach. In addition to our local beach approximately 20 minutes from here by car you will find golden sand dunes at 'Horsey' with its resident colony of seals spread out along the beach and can have upwards of 700 seals in the main breeding season between November and March. For those who wish to experience the Norfolk Broads, it’s just 10 minutes away. There are a number of places nearby where you can hire a boat by the hour, half day or full day, e.g. Wroxham, Stalham, Potter Heigham and Horning. There are numerous quality pubs and restaurants only a short distance away. We highly recommend guests walk along the beach to the ‘Poachers Pocket’ which offers good pub food. Our prices remain the same throughout the year, we don’t think it’s right that you should pay more in the Summer, or whether it happens to be a School, Public or Bank holiday!
  • Beautiful apartment, fabulously equipped. We were made very welcome; this was a perfect venue for a relaxing few days away.

    Jules2016-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • The accommodation is very nice and in a good location for exploring Norfolk. The owners provide all the necessities for a comfortable stay. We would not hesitate to recommend you staying here.

  • Jeff and Carol gave us a super welcome. Her own-baked Victoria sponge as a welcome is delicious and they leave some wine and flowers too. The apartment is charming, so clean and light and incredibly well-equipped. They were on hand if ever we needed anything and made us really welcome. There is so much to do in North Norfolk - can't recommend it highly enough.

    Penni2016-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • Our 4 night stay at the Sandringham Suite was wonderful. Carol and Jeff were most welcoming and the accommodation is beautiful. It is well placed for all the attractions of North Norfolk and only 5 min stroll from a lovely beach. Perfect!

    Alan2016-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Really quiet and secluded cottage, although attached to the main house, you barely notice anyone or anything else, unless you go outside. The most amazing bathroom you will ever find and great for a romantic break.

    Jess2017-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • We had the most glorious stay in the Sandringham Suite. Following a few days camping, the total luxury of the facilities, overall calm and wonderful set up was pure bliss. Everything was perfect. From the beautiful cake, the thoughtful wine and milk to get us settled in- to having our own private decked area with a BBQ primed for steak in the evening. Wish we didn't have to leave. Carol and Jeff were totally wonderful, very friendly and incredibly helpful.

    Amy2016-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • An absolute beautiful time spent in Norfolk! We were made to feel extremely welcome by Carol and Jeff as soon as we turned up on the drive! Their generosity and hospitality are evident from the start. Wine & cake what more could a girl ask for! Plus an amazing house with all the amenities and extras you could wish for plus the most beautiful grounds surrounding the property. And a handsome black fluffy cat. Felt instantly like home. We strongly recommend spending time here. The location is fantastic and the overall experience was just right. Strongly recommend a stay be it to hibernate in winter or summer sun haven. Thankyou

Great place to stay from the hare on the drive on the first day to the pheasants in the side field to the harvesting on the back field on the last day, it has been a lovely stay. Space to chill and be quiet yet within easy reach of places. Recommend Norwich, Cromer, Thursford Collection and the Cliff Top Cafe at Overstrand. Highly highly recommend the Den! Thank you Tracey and Ian.

It is well located for visiting the National Trust properties of Blickling Hall and Felbrigg Hall as well as the coast. If you are interested in children's books do visit the Norfolk Children's Book Centre in nearby Albi which is the best shop of its kind I have visited and the knowledgeable staff welcome you with free tea, coffee and biccies!

  • Warm and homely place to stay, lovely quiet location, great Base to explore the area from, that's if you can tear yourself away from the views over the fields to the sea beyond. All the little extras Tracey left made Spinney's Den the perfect place to stay, only wish we could have stayed longer. Will definitely be booking Spinney's Den again for a longer stay. Thank You Tracey and Ian for allowing us to share Spinney's Den.

  • We had a lovely, relaxed stay at Mal's place. Everything was just as described and Mal is a friendly host.

    Sally2017-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • The Annex was exactly as described. We really enjoyed our stay there. It's nicely decorated, bright, clean and airy, and extremely comfortable. Quiet surroundings in a lovely part of the UK. Mal is a good host, providing a warm welcome and lots of advice on where to visit and places to eat.

    Richard2017-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • Such a lovely stay. Stayed here for two nights with my wife and our 9 week old daughter. The directions were easy to navigate to and Mal (the owner) was there to greet us and show us around. You enter via a small walkway and you go in to a small but handy kitchen area with all the kitchen essentials you need. The next room is a large living room with comfy sofa, large tv and lovely large windows to let the sun in. The bedroom was perfect sized with comfy bed and the bathroom with clean and modern. The whole place was clean and fresh and you couldn't tell anyone else had ever stayed here. It's a perfect location with a 5 min drive to the beach. And 10 miles either direction to a Norfolk hot spot. Mal was lovely. Aside from greeting and saying goodbye she let us get on with our holiday, but we had her number incase we needed something. Well worth the money and well worth the trip. 10/10

    Stuart2017-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • We loved Knoll Annexe! The description and the pictures really do it justice. We were greeted with a warm welcome from Mal & given lots of local knowledge (mainly about decent pubs in the area!). The accommodation is finished to a high standard and there is plenty of space to relax in. It's also in a great location and we'd recommend it if you want to have a base to go off and explore the North Norfolk coast and in-land villages.

    Ed2017-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • Mal was very lovely and gave us a warm welcome, lots of nice tips for places to eat and made sure that we we knew where everything was in the place. The annex is quite private and is well located to access the coastal towns of the region. Comfortable and relaxing stay :)

Traditional brick and flint cottage with a wealth of original features including, exposed beams, brick and flint work, vaulted ceilings and double aspect wood burner. Welcoming sea front pub close by with good traditional food. We love the location of our property, wonderful beaches near-by (you can hear the sea!)
Luxurious bathroom with free standing bath and TV to watch, fully fitted kitchen with all the requirements that you need. En-suite to master bedroom. Wood-burning stove for cooler winter evenings. Please note master bedroom has to be accessed through bedroom 2.
Traditional brick & flint built cottage located within minutes of beaches of Bacton and local Public House. Ideal for families and friends alike, something for everyone. Lots on your doorstep to explore in delightful Norfolk.
  • It is a lovely cottage renovated to a high standard. I would have liked a manual for the fridge/freezer as I would not get it to dispense cold water or ice. Close to the beach, but if you have dogs check as there are some areas where you are not allowed dogs.

    Alicia2016-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful cottage with the added bonus of a hot tub and TV in the bathroom. Feeling totally relaxed after spending a few days there. Pretty much everything you could need already provided for with a luxurious touch everywhere you looked. Amazing place will definitely look forward to going back there

  • The property has a fabulous location and Victoria is a very responsive host. We had 1-2 issues during our stay and these were attended to very promptly. I will book again...

    Tanya2016-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely time here, we enjoyed the enclosed garden which was fab for our young children and all the lovely features. The children's bedroom was very comfortable, we needed to watch them on the stairs as they're quite steep for toddlers to manage.

    Tracy2017-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay in Victoria's property and were lucky to find 3 nights during the main holidays. I don't think the photos do it justice. The living space was much roomier than we expected. I loved the standard of the property including : stone floor, automatic lights, beer fridge and television in the bathroom (a first for me!). We used the cottage as a base for cycling and the back garden with gate and door leading from the lounge made this very straightforward. We didn't ask to use the hot tub but we did sit out on the decking to eat and drink! The only I would say was that neither of the local pubs which are in walking distance were our cup of tea - but each to their own. It was not a problem for us as we had our bicycles! Great hosting and instant communication.

    jane2016-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • Upon arriving at Victoria's cottage, we were pleasantly surprised at the high spec of mod cons, it cleanliness and how well designed it was. The location was perfect; close to a quiet, and beautiful beach, (5 minute walk), that is great for a family with small children. The area had the just the right amount of amenities within walking distance to suit our needs, with all the large supermarkets within a 10 minute drive. The kids loved the hot tub, watching t.v in the bath and we loved the fact the back garden was fully enclosed and safe. The information pack was very informative and welcomed, especially the recommendations from other quests. We would definitely book again as it was a lovely, relaxing and most enjoyable mini holiday. Thank you very much. Susan, Pete, Alexandra and Tristan

  • We had an absolutely brilliant stay here, it was so comfortable and had a homely feel, and the views were just stunning. We loved the short walk down to the beach, to a nearly private beach! It really felt deserted, and just so peaceful. Our young son had so much fun paddling and playing in the sand. The caravan park is also a short 15/20 minute walk into Mundesley so it was nice not to have to get in the car when we fancied an ice cream! We also loved the patio area and seating outside, it was perfect for BBQs. Paul was a great host, he was so easy to communicate with, quick to reply, accommodating, helpful and flexible to our requests too! We will definitely be coming back here!

    Simon2017-06-19T00:00:00Z

  • This is a lovely static caravan on a very quiet site. The views are breathtaking. Pretty much 180 degrees of sea views. The caravan is nicely furnished and spotlessly clean. I found the owners to be responsive and helpful, answering questions over email within a few hours. The caravan feels very much like a second home, and is well equipped with cutlery, crockery etc. I hope to stay here again.

My place is Unique, right by the Beach by The Sea, has a shop/Post Office, pub, cafes and Fish n Chip Shop within minutes walk, also a rural bus service nearby! You also have one car parking space. You’ll love my place because of It is unique location and has fantastic views out to sea.. My place is good for couples and solo adventurers.
Truly unique Shepherd Hut by the Sea! Its not unusual to find Shepherd Huts in woodland and rolling countryside, but rarely do you find one set in such a stunning location, As close to the sea as you can possibly get in North Norfolk. Noted for its wool trade in the fourteenth century Norfolk with its wool churches for example, St Mary’s, in nearby Worstead, must have been a very different terrain to the large arable farms that we see all around the coast today. There is now limited numbers of live-stock on the fields of north Norfolk and the huts have a new lease of life. Traditionally used by the shepherd since the fifteenth century. ‘The Little Shepherd Huts’ are now the holiday retreats of a modern generation of intrepid travellers. At Barn & Beach we are delighted to offer ‘the Little Blue Hut’ - “Courtney” to our discerning guests. The Little Blue Hut can be booked for any length of stay and we are happy to provide a Bed & Breakfast (Continental) style of service for those who wish to stay on this basis or alternatively you can rent on a self-catering holiday basis. Self contained the Little Blue Hut features, Double bed, Flat Screen TV, seating and Kitchen area as well as an integral bathroom. Car parking in your own space just off the main coast road, you have a generous courtyard space and external seating with splendid views out to sea. Nearby Bacton & Walcott have all of the facilities one could need for a break on the North Norfolk coast;- Shop/Post Office, three cafes, two pubs, two excellent Fish n Chip shops, and of course miles of golden sands in both directions, Happisburgh (two miles) or Mundesley (four miles) to walk off the excess! We don’t have Wifi but we do have the room with a view...Come and join us at ‘the Little Blue Hut’ with Barn & Beach.... Relaxing places to stay.
The Beach is golden sand, there are lots of walks from the front door, coast & countryside, once your parked up there is no need to use the car, however, if you do decided to there are so many places to visit in North Norfolk, Norwich and the Broads National Park.
  • Small but well equipped and accurately described.

  • Beautiful shepherds hut within touching distance of the sea lovely village, poachers pub were so accommodating at a very busy time . Highly recommend the fish platter ! Scones and apple pie on arrival was a lovely thought. Kingfisher chip shop busy but worth the wait and seeing seals was amazing ! Literally couldn't ask for more thank you

  • Lovely little sea hut in Bacton. Bacton is lovely and quiet compared to some of the packed Norfolk coast. The hut was beautiful and clean with good facilities, cosy, but with plenty of room for a couple and a dog. We even were left some scones and an apple pie, which was a lovely welcome touch. We did easily reachable daytrips to Cromer, Mundesley and Wells-next-the-sea. There is an excellent chip shop two minutes walk away and a super dog friendly pub almost next door.

Adjoining the lounge is the well equipped open plan kitchen and dining room plus bathroom. The kitchen has a washing machine, microwave & Nespresso machine. This is such a little sun trap, an ideal spot for reading a book with a glass of wine and in the evening lighting the chimenea and roasting some marshmallows! The car parking space is here, at the rear of the property. A windbreak and some body boards are also provided for days on the beach. Upstairs there are three light and airy bedrooms, two doubles and one single. The first bedroom has a cupboard with hanging space and other two bedrooms have hanging space on the walls and cupboard space. Mundesley is a lovely thriving seaside village on the North Norfolk Coast with a beautiful wide sandy blue flag beach which has been awarded "Best Blue Flag Beach in Britain 2016" by Holiday Lettings (a Trip Advisor Company). It's the perfect place to get away from it all and has much to offer for people of all ages. There is a very good park with zip wire, skate/scooter park, outdoor mini gym, crazy golf, one small amusement arcade and multi use games area, just a short walk across the park at the end of the road. There is also a 9-hole golf course on the outskirts of the village. The beautiful beach stretches for miles and is wonderful for walking, swimming, surfing, building sand castles or just to relax and read a book or enjoy a picnic. During the summer months the main area of the beach is patrolled by RNLI lifeguards. Lots of pools are left on the beach as the tide goes out and children can splash about and play in these very safely. You'll also find toilets, the beach cafe (open during the summer) and a well stocked shop selling buckets, spades, etc and where you can hire wind breaks and deck chairs. And of course buy some ice creams! The village also has a wonderful choice of cafes, chinese take away, fish and chip shop and great pub grub is served at The Ship Inn. Just a short stroll from the cottage you will find a greengrocer, butcher, fishmonger, chemist, post office, hardware shop, craft shop, ladies boutique and grocery stores. There is also a Tesco Local a ten minute walk or short car journey away. Just a short drive from the cottage are the restaurants The Gunton Arms, situated in an extensive deer park and the award winning Ingham Swan. There are many more fabulous pubs and restaurants in the area, details of which are included in my extensive Visitors Handbook which you will receive prior to your stay. Stones Throw Cottage is the perfect base to discover North Norfolk, especially the nearby seaside towns of Cromer and Sheringham, the beautiful town of Holt, National Trust properties - Felbrigg, Blickling and Sheringham Park, the Norfolk Broads and just 20 miles away is the vibrant city of Norwich. If you are not on the beach there are many attractions for children too. You will be spoilt for choice to where to take them first! There's Bewilderwood, The Dinosaur Park, Stompers Indoor Play, Wroxham Barns, Pensthorpe National Park, Cromer Zoo, Pleasurewood Hills, North Norfolk Railway, lots of wonderful museums and much, much more.
  • Thank you Kate for such a lovely stay at Stones Throw, we loved the beautifully decorated home and all of your help with recommendations. We had a great time and will look forward to returning soon.

  • We had a fantastic time at Stone's Throw! The cottage is really stylishly decorated and we found the baby kit so helpful (no need to lug travel cot etc with us). The town is a great base for exploring Norfolk. Kate was a wonderful host too - checkin is easy with keysafe and plenty of info, but she also checked we were settled and responded really quickly to a minor problem. We'll definitely be back!

  • Wonderful homely cottage that has been lovingly modernised and tastefully decorated. The cottage had everything we felt we needed to feel at home and self cater. With 2 young kids in tow we were especially delighted to know there was a high chair, baby bath tub, kiddy plates, cutlery, and toys/games all provided (a few things less for us to bring!). It's located very well in Mundesley, a short walk to the park, beach and local shops and cafes. Kate was very helpful leading up to and during our stay. Her 'visitor guide' is so comprehensive that I didn't need (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) to decide what to do in the area. Excellent find, highly recommended.

    Irene2016-05-31T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first Airbnb experience and it could not have been any better. My husband and I were travelling with our 12 month old and we were attracted to the baby friendliness advertised at Stone's Throw Cottage. This place was simply lovely, and the effort that has been put into the house was clear. I'm no stranger to cottage hires and this was one of the best. The house was stocked with everything we could have wanted (even baby cutlery) and the fridge was stocked with a bottle of wine and a pint of milk. Kate offered to come and meet us but we didn't feel we needed her to as she had left an incredibly comprehensive visitor guidebook that told us everything we needed to know. The location is 6 minutes walk from the beach, which was clean and beautiful and much more attractive than the donkeys and candy floss of the big resorts along the coast. From our base in Mundsley we were easily able to explore Norwich, Blakeney Point, Great Yarmouth, Cromer and a cruise along the broads at Wroxham in our 3 day stay. It helps we were there in a heatwave and could enjoy the sun trap patio in the evenings, but the wood burner in the living room looked like it would make it a lovely cosy retreat in winter. It was very child friendly but would equally be a lovely place to go as a couple or a few friends. I cannot recommend this listing enough. We hope to return when our daughter is a bit bigger and enjoy the delights of this cottage again.

  • What a wonderful cottage. We had a great few days staying in this centrally located cottage, which is minutes away from the beach, and in the heart of the village of Mundesley. The cottage is really well equipped with two large double rooms, plus a smaller single. The kitchen has everything you need, and what an amazing wet room. Great WiFi, lovely garden. Parking behind the cottage, or on nearby roads. It's a great place to stay, and Kate's comprehensive guide ensured we had all the information we needed for a wonderful family holiday.

    Tom2017-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • We were made to feel extremely welcome, starting with the bottle of wine and chocolate biscuits on arrival, and even the thoughtful chocolate spider for our son (as it was Halloween!). We had a cosy 4 nights break in the cottage, which had everything we needed for a family of 4, children are 5yrs and 3months! The location is fantastic, and everything within the village is within walking distance. The cottage itself is equipped with everything you need to feel at home, I love the stylish design and decor. We love Mundesley and are pleased to of found this lovely cottage, to which I hope we will return. Thanks to Kate for a lovely stay.

  • Such a beautiful place! Perfect size, lovely back garden, great decor, great location. Highly recommended! Thanks Kate.

    Isabel2017-06-21T00:00:00Z
  • Arrived a little earlier than expected but Kate had informed us the cottage was ready early so we were able to go straight there. Accommodation was as described, very clean and plenty of character, lovely touch having some milk, wine and sweets for the kids left for us. The kitchen was very well stoked with everything you would need to make a meal and more if required, we on the other hand opted to eat out and there was enough in the area to give some variety. Beds were clean and very comfortable which made for a good nights sleep. We managed to lock the key on one day, but Kate sorted this for us so quickly by getting a spare over to us at our convenience... apologies for this but thank you so much for sorting it so quickly!

  • This cosy caravan is beautifully decorated and very well equipped. It's the perfect place for a quiet and comfortable stay on the coast. We were warmly welcomed by Carrie's Mum, Chris. She ensured we were comfortable and aware of the workings of the caravan. It's a short drive to places of attraction and all the services you need. We would certainly recommend it as a great short or longer term stay for couples or small families looking for a quiet and peaceful time on the coast. Thank you Carrie!

    sarah2017-04-30T00:00:00Z
  • This little caravan is lovely, clean and tidy with plenty of space for a travel cot in the master bedroom. They provide well for dogs too, the whole area is dog friendly we found. Carrie was fantastic for communication, so thanks for that! Although once there we had no phone or 3G signal at all. Not a problem, just made me feel nervous being completely uncontactable! It's only a few mins from the beautiful beach, the kids loved seeing how much the tide comes in/goes out over the day! We loved 'sugar and spice' for food, always busy! Cromer isn't too far away and we enjoyed a morning out there, lots for the little ones to look at. Beware.....the chippy closes at 7.30?!?!? So eat early if you want to go there. Chinese was good too. (We didn't cook but only there 2 nights!) The van is well equipped in my opinion and we really enjoyed our tiny holiday! Thanks Carrie!

    Ali2017-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • It really is a 'cosy caravan', perfect for a get away and for exploring the beautiful Norfolk coastline!

    Jenny2017-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • Carrie was a lovely host and the caravan had everything we needed for a lovely relaxing week's holiday. The site is very quiet. The beach is nearby, it is huge but little used except on sunny days and weekends! Very good for dog walking, only a small section where dogs are not allowed. Bacton Woods are a mile or two inland and well worth a visit if you like pretty, shady trees and gentle walking. Bacton itself is very quiet, everyone is very friendly and we found it a very relaxing place to be. Sugar and Spice is an excellent cafe with Wifi; Poacher's Pocket is an excellent pub, also with Wifi. Everywhere seems to take dogs - the cafe even provides dog biscuits! There are also nice walks on the outskirts of the village. The coastline is not particularly pretty, but the whole area is very quiet, friendly and relaxing.

    Caz2017-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful couple of days at the mobile home. It is spotlessly clean and has everything you need for a short break. We found it very comfortable. Check in was quick and easy. We really liked being able to walk to the beach within five minutes. We also enjoyed a couple of walks in the countryside nearby. Even our dog was happy because we had forgotten his bowls but there was one there for him to borrow! The other residents on site were friendly and although not far from the road the campsite was very quiet and peaceful. Thank you Carrie!

    Jennifer2017-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful few days staying here! Was so lovely and quiet, and nearby to lots of lovely coastal towns and right on a nice beach. The caravan was warm and cosy and had everything we needed in the kitchen, and had dvds and games which was a nice addition. Would definitely stay here again, perfect for a quiet few days by the coast!

  • We loved our stay at Albion Cottage and Liz was the perfect host. The cottage was clean and beautifully furnished in Victorian style, with the addition of all the mod cons we needed and a very well equipped kitchen. We really appreciated the cream tea which was waiting for us on our arrival, plus the lovely fresh flowers. Liz was very helpful and informative when we needed her assistance. Thank you Liz!

  • Such a sweet cottage in a lovely village, a short stroll from miles of sand. Lovely scones laid out for our arrival, which was later than expected, so we enjoyed them in the morning in the very pretty garden. Liz made everything easy! Perfect place for peace and quiet!

    Jennie2016-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • As soon as we stepped over the doorstep we felt utterly at home. So warm and comfortable - a beautiful, happy house. I feel as though I've left my home behind when i returned to my house.

    Debbie2016-12-09T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cosy cottage, thoughtful quirky decor, very clean with clean comfortable beds. Kitchen was extremely well equipped, would suit a foodie weekender! Good communication, though for some reason initial email was captured by my spam filter, Liz responded when quickly when asked anything, it was easy to find and the communication made arrival very straightforward. Liz popped in to see us to make sure all was OK and a cream tea was waiting for us when we arrived. Lovely location in pretty village with beautiful sandy beach around 8 minutes walk across countryside, good for swimming and for kids. Decent pub close by. Extremely quiet and rural, great weekend escape.

  • Albion Cottage is wonderfully situated, beautifully presented (to a very high standard) and excellently managed by Liz. It is stuffed full of character and really feels like a place away from home. It's a brilliant base to go adventuring from, the garden is a lovely sun-trap and the little conservatory is charming. We had a great time, and Liz's scones were extremely delicious.

    Jo2014-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic Easter stay at the beautifully decorated Albion cottage. The cottage is lovely, cosy, confortable, clean and perfectly located right in the centre of the village, 2 min walk to the grocery shop, pub and 5min to the beach. We very much appreciated Liz welcoming touches from the delicious home made scones, cream team, fresh flowers to the Easter chocolate eggs. Thank you Liz for lending us the OS local maps and for a perfect relaxing retreat.

  • Such a lovely and unique little cottage filled with a fascinating collection of antiques, ornaments and house plants. Perfect location within the village, lovely little garden, and all the mod cons you need too. Will be back.

  • Our host made us very welcome. All communications were helpful and efficient. A cream tea was laid for our arrival, with milk in the fridge, and the cottage was stocked with tea and coffee etc. The kitchen was very well equipped and had all the little essential items that are boring to pack, like salt and pepper, cooking oil, and cling film. Liz called in on the first evening to see that we had all that we needed; she was helpful and friendly but was otherwise non-intrusive. The cottage was easy to find following the directions: (our SATNAV had other ideas...) The village pub was welcoming. The cottage is an intriguing mix of immaculate Victorian décor and fascinating ornamentation, and modern comforts: the beds were comfortable, the central heating very efficient and the wifi was fast and reliable. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would like to return. Thank you for all the little attentions that made our stay so enjoyable.

The nearest villages are Swafield (1 mile) with the award winning local butcher Tavern Tasty Meats, Trunch (1.7 miles) with an excellent pub 'The Crown Inn' and famous classical concerts in Trunch Church during the summer season, and the Market Town of North Walsham (2 miles) containing several pubs and restaurants, the local Waitrose and Sainsburys. For larger parties the South Wing apartment can be rented together with Nelson’s Suite (+2), and/or with the East Wing (+2) providing accommodation for up to 9 guests. Nelson’s Suite is a luxurious 250 square feet private room, situated on the first floor of Swafield Hall. Nelson’s Suite retains its original features like antique plaster, bay windows, servants bell mechanisms, servants door and C18th enfilade doors. It sleeps 2 and contains a large lounge/bedroom with exposed oak beams, kingsize bed, 42″ flat screen TV, polished wood floors, crystal chandelier, antique furniture, bay sash windows and stunning views over the parterre and main lawn. It has its own en-suite with Victorian style shower and original fireplace. Please contact the owners if you would be interested in booking this room as part of your visit .
The nearest villages to the estate are Swafield (1 mile), with famous local butcher "Tavern Tasty Meats" and Trunch (1.7 miles) with St Botolph church and a popular pub ‘The Crown Inn‘ . The most interesting part of St Botolph in Trunch is its magnificent wooden carved font canopy, one of only four such surviving canopies in all of England. The nearest coastal resort of Mundesley, with its wonderful sandy beach and great pubs (2.9 miles walk/drive). Nearby you can find some of the finest beaches the UK has to offer (Cromer 8 miles, Sheringham 13 miles) and the famous Norfolk Broads (8 miles). The nearby market town of North Walsham (2.5 miles) contains several restaurants, the local Waitrose and Sainsburys. Swafield village had an entry in the Domesday Book of 1085. The church of St Nicholas at Swafield has one of the few remaining Medieval Rood Screens in Norfolk. It was built in 13th or 14th centuries and extended in the 15th century. St Nicholas sits proudly on a hill and there is a beautiful view to the surrounding countryside, including view to Swafield Hall. The picturesque old railway track of the northern section of the Norfolk and Suffolk Joint Railway is just 5 minutes walk from Swafield Hall. It is now a public walkway (a part of the Paston Way footpath) and butterfly reserve. The railway was constructed in the 19th and 20th centuries, though unfortunately the section that linked Swafield to North Walsham was closed in 1964. Pigney’s Wood is 15 minutes walk, it is managed by North Norfolk Community Woodland Trust and serves as a haven for wild flowers, butterflies and birds. The site comprises 1.7 hectares mature mixed woodland, 7.8 hectares of new woodland, 8.5 hectares open ground and 5.5 hectares low-lying, wet grassland. Over 20,000 trees of forty species have been planted since the site was purchased in 1992. In Swafield the walkway along the old railway track crosses the course of the canal. Swafield is one of only a few villages in Norfolk with a canal – The North Walsham and Dilham Canal, which is the only canal in Norfolk. The canal was constructed and opened in 1826 and is 8.7 miles long and runs from Swafield Bridge to a junction with the River Ant at Smallburgh. The canal was constructed with locks a little wider than most canals in the UK to accommodate the use of the Norfolk wherries, hence the image of a wherry on Swafield’s village sign. Have a relaxing time wandering around, or rest on one of the benches and discover the local birds and wildlife.
  • A great weekend in North Norfolk. The hosts are relaxed and welcoming and are bringing a wonderful old building back to life. The apartment has only recently been completed, so is pristine and the photos don't do it justice, especially the main room which is filled with light (and wonderful double height / exposed beams). Our children loved the gardens and tennis court and if the weather is good, sandy beaches are just short drive away. Perfect base for family of four exploring North Norfolk.

  • From the first contact through until final departure, Boris was the perfect host. This gem of a place is an example of why Airbnb is so great. The house and grounds have wonderful character and history, while the actual accommodation has been totally refitted to a very high and very comfortable standard. We even got to play croquet on the back lawn. If you want to stay in splendid isolation, while still being a short drive from lots of main tourist sites, this is the place for you.

  • We couldn't have found a nicer place to stay in Norfolk than Swafield Hall. Boris and Tim are very warm and welcoming hosts and their property, which they are restoring with such care and attention to detail, is absolutely beautiful. The South Wing apartment is spacious, and wonderfully restored, with wooden beamed ceilings and lovely views of the gardens. You have access to all the amenities to make this a fantastic holiday, including a tennis court! We will definitely be back. Thank you Boris and Tim (and Anton!)

    Sunita2016-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • Boris and Tim were excellent hosts: they went over and beyond to make sure that we had a wonderful holiday - Tim found us wonderful restaurants to visit and printed out directions of how to get there, we were invited to a musical recital in the Hall, great recommendation for a wonderful garden to visit. Everything was perfect and there was even a bottle of wine to greet us.

    Sandra2016-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Swafield Hall was incredible! Boris welcomed us to his newly refurbished apartment on the top floor of a beautiful mansion. We were the very first guests to stay there and Boris made us feel extremely comfortable. The apartment is perfect for a family, well sized and well equipped. The gardens of the house are beautiful, and we spent a sunny evening having a barbecue (which Boris provided!) and he offered his tennis court too! Overall, the stay at Swafield was the best part about our holiday!

    Sahana2016-05-31T00:00:00Z
  • Boris and Tim made our family feel welcome without being intrusive. The accommodation is as described; the kitchen well equipped, the view from the master bedroom over the formal gardens delightful and the secluded tennis court an added bonus. Mundesley Beach is only a short drive. We look forward to a return visit soon.

    Claire2016-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful discovery Swafield Hall is. All you need for a comfortable stay in the lovely Norfolk countryside. The accommodation is top class, the grounds are stunning and Boris and Tim make sure to look after their guests. Highly recommended!

Suzanne and Fanos would like to welcome you to The Old Alms Cottage. Built around 1850 this spacious traditional brick an Flint cottage offers you a relaxing stay in Norfolk. It comprises one double bedroom, one twin room and a single room, bathroom with electric shower, a separate cloakroom, fully fitted kitchen and very large sitting/dining room. The pretty garden offers outdoor living space with seating and a BBQ. Just a three minute walk away you will find a beautiful beach, with miles of golden sand in either direction.
You enter through a small hallway (coat/boot room), the cloakroom/WC is on the right and the kitchen on the left. The living room is opposite the front entrance and the rest of the rooms are off a main corridor to the right. (Including the three bedrooms, main bathroom, airing cupboard and storage cupboard). The pretty garden offers outdoor living space with seating and a BBQ.
During your stay there is plenty to explore. A few miles away are the pretty seaside towns of Cromer, with its shops, restaurants and pier, and Sheringham, where you can catch a ride on the old steam train. Further along the coast takes you to the beautiful coastline of Wells-next-the-Sea, Brancaster and the stunning Holkham beach which is part of the largest Natural Nature Reserve in the country. Burnham Market (locally known as Chelsea-on-Sea) is well worth a visit with its village green, trendy shops and restaurants. You may also like to visit the famous Norfolk Broads. Wroxham is a busy Broads town with shops and restaurants and at Wroxham Barns, there is always entertainment for the children during the summer months. Horning is also worth a visit: you can take a leisurely boat trip along the broads, or the more adventurous can hire their own boat for the day! There is a lovely deli, where you can pick up lunch on the way, or eat in the pubs by the river. Norwich is a great place to visit, with all the high street shops and plenty more, there is something to explore around every corner of its cobbled streets. And of course, you can easily spend the whole day in the beautiful Cathedral. On the way to Great Yarmouth you will find Happisburgh with its interesting lighthouse; you may see the seals on the beach at Winterton-on-Sea and if not, a walk on the dunes is recommended.
  • Fantastic cottage, beautifully decorated, 3 mins walk from the beach. Very well equipped kitchen with a lovely welcome pack including tea, milk, eggs and home made cake! The cottage is in a great location, with lots to do in the surrounding area. We hope to come again!

    Rachel2017-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • This is a fantastic place to stay if you want to explore the Norfolk coast. A beautiful beach is a few minutes walk from the cottage, we even managed to spot a few seals bobbing by. The local fish and chips are great and there are some bigger supermarkets about 15 minutes drive away. More well known touristy places (such as Cromer/Sherringham etc) were about a 40 minute drive away which suited as perfectly. Suzanne and Fanos provided lots of local information and were extremely helpful. The accommodation was exceptionally clean and well equipped. I would thoroughly recommend this cottage for those wanting a peaceful escape to the Norfolk coast.

    Sarah2017-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • We spent a long weekend at the cottage. The cottage has just been refurbished, so everything fresh and nice. Very well equipped for a comfortable stay. Lovely hosts, very welcoming and great communicators. The area is very quiet, with a beach nearby, there are a few local pubs, restaurants and a shop in the area, so convenient for eating out and shopping and not far from more lively Cromer and Great Yarmouth. I will definitely come back, next time I am in Norfolk.

    Petro2017-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely time at the Old Alms Cottage, I took my mum who is 88 and she was able to make the short walk past the fisherman's cottages to the (URL HIDDEN) was wonderful to sit on the bench by the sea and watch the waves break with her....made memories I will treasure. The cottage is clean, comfortable and well equipped and a great base for exploring North Norfolk. Mum also enjoyed sitting in the sun in the pretty garden. We highly recommend a visit!

  • Awesome place. Ideal for the beach, quiet and family-friendly. Suzanne is a great host.

    Ashley2017-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful cottage in a great location. Suzanne and Fanos are excellent hosts - they were there when we arrived and departed and communication was great before and during the trip. Decor, cleanliness, homely feel were all brilliant and exceeded our expectations. It is the best equipped cottage I have ever been to (and I have been to a few!!). Would thoroughly recommend this Cottage for a holiday- thank you.

My lovely 1960s chalet is very close to Mundesley beach - 2 minutes to the cliff top and 5 mins down onto the beach. It has great south facing views of the countryside. You’ll love my place because of the big windows, the light, airy space and quirky found-objects. Even the bedrooms look out onto the private garden. Great for couples and small families. A quiet and spacious little development - bit of a hidden gem.
There is a kitchen and living space with views across the countryside, two bedrooms which look out onto a small private garden which is a sun trap in summer. There is a porch with washing machine and space for shoes and beach gear. The beach is 5/10 minutes walk away without crossing roads and the clifftop is just at the top of the hill behind the chalet. Parking opposite or around the back.
Mundesley is a little seaside village with beautiful beaches. It is close to Cromer and the North Norfolk coast and National trust properties Blickling and Felbrigg. Good places to eat in Cromer and Holt. The corner house Cafe in Mundesley is great for cakes and Mundesley Beach has its own Beach cafe
  • We had a thoroughly lovely week at Charlotte's AirBnB. It was furnished to a high standard, great decor and kitted out with everything we might need - books, games and DVDs alongside the usual facilities. Despite the September rain the residence stayed warm and cosy. There was only sporadic data signal and no wifi, which was a boon in hindsight as it meant we could really relax! Charlotte was a great communicator, the cake on arrival was an unexpected pleasure. Can't speak highly enough.

    Jonathan2017-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • This chalet is fab! Packed full of 50's / 60's character (perhaps not one for the minimalists) and very well kitted out. Living space is a great size with a great open field view, bedrooms are smallish, but fine for us (2 adults 1 child). Double bed not well suited for tall folks though! The beach at Mundesley is great for kids just down the cliff path and other local places for crabbing / seal watching. No wifi if that's your thing, but the hotel on the main road has it. We had a great long weekend there and would have loved to stay longer.

    Juliet2017-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • We loved this chalet. Well finished and equipped, we were very comfortable. Close to the beach and we'll placed for drives into the country and along the stunning coast, it's a lovely spot for a family break.

    Sarah2017-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • Chalet was lovely and comfortable, with everything we needed. Site was quiet and well maintained. Good access to the beach, and the bit of the beach we were near was lovely and quiet all week despite being in school holidays. What more could we ask for, brilliant holiday!

    Laura2017-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • We loved this property - it has a quirky, stylish and relaxed vibe about it, and we would love to return soon! I especially loved the vintage style of the chalet, and enjoyed using the lovely mix and match crockery, and we found the kitchen to be very well equipped and easy to use. Communication with Charlotte was very easy and efficient. She responded to messages very quickly, and she was very helpful and calming when I had difficulties with the registration process. The location of the chalet is great, the view out of the front windows is stunning, and we found Mundesley, especially the beach, a delightful area to holiday in. We visited the Broads, Sheringham, Sea Paling and Cromer, which were all within very easy travelling distance. I cannot think of a single criticism of this property, and would thoroughly recommend it.

    Wendy2017-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • A really great place to stay with a small family, close to the beach and local amenities. The chalet is really quirky and very comfortable to stay in

    sophie2017-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Very homely, great decor! Everything that you need. Although there is no live TV, the DVD collection included all my husbands favourites. Good location for visiting up and down the coast. Walks for dogs excellent - you do need to have good legs and lungs to get up and down to the beach, but once there it is fantastic. And along the cliff path will give you all the fresh air you need!

    Geraldine2017-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely little chalet tucked away in a peaceful part of the country. Space had everything we needed and more. Especially appreciated all the amenities in the kitchen for cooking, which is sometimes unusual for holiday lets.

Set in the grounds of a beautiful converted barn, Little Bengate Barn has been sympathetically converted to provide a spacious, bright and comfortable property for a holiday, visit family, or to work from. The property has its own private courtyard space with garden furniture to relax and enjoy al fresco dining, a good book and a glass of wine on a warm Summer day and on a clear night, look up and gaze at the stars with a hot drink, whilst listening to the sounds of the local wildlife.
•Sleeps 2 (+ 1 - baby in travel cot) •1 Four Poster Bed •Open plan kitchen, dining and living area with folding doors to the outside patio area with table and chairs •Bathroom with large shower, WC and wash basin •Full central heating •Duvets and pillows provided, beds made up for your arrival. Towels included. •Television and DVD player (in the lounge only) •Selection of books and DVDS •Parking
Little Bengate Barn is a perfect base to explore all that Norfolk has to offer, but is also spacious and comfortable to stay in for those days where you just want to relax and read a book. The property has vaulted ceilings with windows that let the light shine through, even on a dull day. From the Norfolk Broads to the Coast, there are many places all within easy reach. The Weaver’s Way, 61 miles coast to coast, from Cromer to Great Yarmouth, we are right on the doorstep to start your adventures by foot or by bike to discover woodlands, farmland, historic houses and more. Also within close proximity are a number of fishing lakes and golf courses. The National Trust properties of Blickling Hall and Felbrigg Hall are both nearby and the city of Norwich is around 15 miles away. Take a trip to Wroxham, the heart of the Norfolk Broads, where you can take a boat ride, hire a canoe, sample the local cafes, or do some shopping in the well known Roy’s of Wroxham stores. Wroxham Barns is nearby, with its independent shops and crafts, well known restaurant and Junior Farm, and you could always take a ride on the Bure Valley Railway to the market town of Aylsham, which is well worth a visit. Locally, the village of Worstead is 1.5 miles, home to The White Lady public house and the market town of North Walsham is 3 miles, with supermarkets of Waitrose, Lidl and Sainsbury’s, alongside many independent stores, as well as a leisure centre with swimming pool and a bowling alley. There are also train stations at Worstead and North Walsham.
  • Little Bengate is a lovely little cottage, very quiet yet so close to the main road. It was lovely to be able to see all the stars in the sky with no street lights. We were able to sit out on the patio each morning in the sunshine. The cottage was spotlessly clean and well presented. Sam provided a starter pack of tea, coffee, milk etc. She also brought us some newly baked scones which were much appreciated. She was on hand in case of any problems, however there were none! The cottage is ideally situated if you wish to walk or cycle the Weaver's Way, and is also close to the north Norfolk coast and also the Norfolk Broads. I would highly recommend this cottage.

    Mary2017-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Little bengate barn was perfect! Clean, homely and in a great location - near lots of beautiful walks and beaches. We really enjoyed our stay and shall definitely return.

    Jodie2017-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • Sam is a professional host. Care is taken to prepare the space and little things that she does adds to the experience, such as milk in the fridge, tea and coffee and biscuits at arrival, washing up liquid and supplies,a little first aid kit for cuts. Very clean quiet space. I highly recommend this place.

    Shane2017-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice and well appointed cottage /barn conversion. Out of the way but central for the coast, Broads, Norwich etc Enjoyed staying here.

    Iain & Ingrid2017-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • The barn has a lovely spacious feel, a well equipped kitchen and a friendly, and helpful yet unassuming host. The roof-lights and foldaway doors make the main room really light and airy in the daytime and it was lovely to step out onto the deck in the sunshine. We also really enjoyed the seclusion afforded by the clever arrangement of screens between this barn and the next. There was lots of scope for outings between the sea, the broads, and nearby National Trust land and properties. We found the local church very welcoming and there was a little market going on as we came out of church where we bought some delicious clams for our supper. We can also recommend the Wells Crab House - but you do have to book. (We were lucky) Altogether a very good stay!

  • The barn was bigger than expected and particularly had a well stocked (utensils, cooking equipment) and large kitchen which was great for cooking breakfast. The bed was really comfy and the bathroom was really nice too with a good shower. Sam was a great host who made sure we had everything we needed but respected our privacy during our stay - she also left us coffee, tea, sugar milk and cupcakes on arrival too :) the barn was in a great location for Norwich, the Broads and various coastal areas - with pubs and supermarkets all nearby, although you will need a car as they are a short drive, rather than walk away. There was WiFi for basic internet browsing but not for streaming/Netflix etc but this wasn't an issue for us. Would definitely recommend staying here and would come back if visiting the area again. Thanks Sam!

  • Cottage was small but great with everything you needed in it. We took our dogs so the fully enclosed back garden was a godsend. Fantastic location, with a very nice Chinese restaurant/ takeaway directly opposite and the beach literally 2 minutes away. Perfect for some great dog walking. Would recommend and would definitely stay there again.

  • We had a great week at Richard and Isabel's cottage, which was well-kept and equipped with everything we needed. The location could not have been better, and our two daughters loved being able to walk to the beach in 2 minutes! Richard and Isabel were great hosts, and very responsive, replacing a broken DVD as soon as we alerted them to the problem. Highly recommended!

  • Manor Barn was a delightful place to stay - thatched roof, bathroom under the eaves, and bedroom up my own staircase - all this plus generous living and kitchen spaces shared with other guests. Rosie was a warm, welcoming and generous host. There was tea and cake when I arrived and time to talk and find out we lived very close to each other at one time in our lives. There were delicious breakfasts, which made both days a two-meal day...well, OK, maybe two meals with a cake or ice cream stop. Rosie was also an encyclopaedia of local knowledge and gave helpful tips for lovely things to do and see. If you were stuck for what to do, I'm sure Rosie could help you with your day's itinerary. She also shared OS maps, guide books and leaflets for local attractions. If you want a base to explore the Norfolk coast - see seals (!!), promenade along an old-fashioned pier, squeeze down teeny tiny lanes, laze on stunning beaches - I happily recommend staying with Rosie at Manor Barn.

  • Amazing place in a very private part of Norfolk coast. Romantic, outstandingly beautiful, definitely a "must visit" place. Really, nothing to compare with. Very quiet, very "local" (almost no tourists around) very romantic in any weather. Lots of unique historical and nature places around- from 10th century Roman churches to seal colonies)) and a couple of historical pubs around, brewing their own rare beers and ales, which you would never find in a big city or even small town. Endless beaches covered with soft white sand. Very, very nice home- beautiful, unusual (16th century barn! )clean, and so sweet that you really don't want to go outside. Delicious and various breakfasts. And Rosie is a great specialist in local sightseeing and places of interest with a big collection of tourists guides and maps. A must visit place.

  • We had a great stay at Karen's caravan. It is very clean, cozy and well equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. I love the nautical theme decorations and it felt very homely. The wooden deck & fence gives privacy and I feel secured to let my little dog lose in the garden area. It has a secluded beach within walking distance & in a nice location for visiting North Norfolk's scenic sights. Thank you so much for having us and hopefully we will be back one day! Amazing place, wonderful host and highly recommended.

  • Thank you , we really enjoyed our stay in the caravan. the area was beautiful, with amazing walks, just at your doorstep. This was our first trip to Norfolk countryside and hopefully not our last. I loved the fact that even though we didn't meet Karen, she left all the information we needed in the caravan. she had taken a lot of time and care in providing a comfortable stay for all guests.

  • This is a great static caravan on a lovely site so close to the sea. The caravan was well equipped and had everything we needed. We only stayed a single night but for a family stay close to the beach you really couldn't ask for more. The site was friendly and not too big and we all slept very well. It was extremely good value compared to a hotel or B and B and Karen was very helpful and easy to contact.

    Sarah2017-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Karen's caravan. It was clean, comfortable and really spacious. We were pleasantly surprised to find everything we could want; even down to toilet rolls, tea, coffee, salt and pepper. The location was great for us as a central point on the norfolk coast and a nice field and beach only a 10 minute walk away to take our dog. We would definitely recommend Karens caravan, we enjoyed our stay thoroughly!

  • We've just come back from a 3 night stay here. The chalet was very nicely decorated and very homely. It's in a very quiet area and about a 5/10 minute walk from the beach. We were about a 20 minute drive from wroxham, which is a lovely little town where you can do a boat tour of the norfolk broads. We also traveled to Cromer which was about a 20 minute drive away. There is a little shop next to the chalet where you can get essential bits from and also dinner, if you fancy eating in. There is also a chip shop just down the road that does fish and chips. By the beach there is a pub/restaurant called poachers pocket, the food in there is very nice, although I would recommend booking ahead as it gets very busy (it also has tables outside so you can have a drink overlooking the sea). The only not so good things I can think of are...there isn't any internet/3G at the chalet. I saw it as good thing really as it was nice to disconnect for a few days! The bathroom is very small and when you want a shower there is a curtain that comes between the shower and the toilet (no separate shower room) but it wasn't terrible, as there was hot water and the pressure was ok. Just meant you had a wet floor for a bit, not the end of the world. Overall a lovely stay and I would definitely stay here again :)

  • We had a lovely and relaxing stay with Fiona at Point House. The breakfasts were delicious, the room was comfortable, and the house and gardens lovely. The location was quiet enough to provide a relaxing time, but was only a short drive to some beautiful beaches. We'd definitely stay again.

  • FIona and her household made us very welcome- we felt like family or friends and not just guests. The house is beautiful and the room and bathrooms were beautiful. Words fail us to describe the amazing breakfasts...we had a selection from home made smoothies, melon, fruit, scrambled eggs and smoked salmon, porridge, bacon, eggs, sausages, mushrooms, tomatoes and not forgetting delicious pancakes. Everything was organic and most of it home grown.....saved us money as we didn't need to eat until the evening! We appreciated being able to use the conservatory and on one occasion the lounge to chill after our days wandering the beaches. A fantastic experience all round.

  • Fiona was a most faaaaabulous host! I am not certain which I loved more, the accommodation or Fiona! Her home is absolutely beautiful and welcoming. All the necessary amenities were available , and much more. It was an absolute pleasure to stay with Fiona. My family couldn't stop talking about how much they enjoyed their stay. Warmth and love was left with us. Our only complaint is that we didn't stay longer.

  • We had a lovely break away from London staying in Happisburgh with Rosie and her husband. The barn is separate to the main building and accommodates the guests. The room was fantastic, with an incredibly comfortable double bed and ensuite and shared living area (including kitchen) with two other bedrooms. The house is located on the edge of Happisburgh which is a small village with a quaint pub located on top of the hill (with large portions of food - one portion of the frutto di mare was enough for two people!). The breakfast was lovely in the main dining room of the farm house with a selection of mains (e.g. full english, salmon mascarpone bagel etc) and various cereals and jams. We ate a little later in the morning (10am both mornings) which was very accommodating since we had been tired from a long week at work, however, you can eat at any time that suits you! Rosie herself was truly an amazing host. She is interesting to talk to and provided so many ideas and places for us to explore over our weekend in Norfolk!

    Robert2016-05-30T00:00:00Z
  • Brilliant B&B, Rosie is very helpful and gave us plenty of ideas of what to do to make the most of our weekend. Rosie lent us maps and guide books to go with the suggestions which meant we were able to fit lots of activities in. The location is lovely for a relaxing rural break. The room was comfortable and clean. We will recommend to anyone interested in a trip to Norfolk.

The East Wing self catering apartment is situated in the oldest 16th century part of the house, it was beautifuly renovated and contains a 20 sq. m bedroom with fabulous view, kingsize bed, original exposed oak beams, LED TV, antique chandelier. Large luxury bathroom is in Victorian style, with free standing bath near the window, rocking chair and antique chandelier. You can enjoy stunning view to the parterre and main loan while taking a bath. Discover beautiful gardens, play on a tennis court.
Swafield Hall offers self-catering accommodation in a truly outstanding rural setting, within tranquil gardens and beautiful parkland. Swafield Hall estate is ideally located near the North Norfolk coast, on the road from Swafield village to the coastal resort of Mundesley, with its wonderful sandy beach (2.8 miles walk/drive). It is equidistant between two main tourist attractions in North Norfolk: Cromer (8 miles) and the Broads (8 miles). Sheringham is 13 miles. National Trust treasures Felbrigg Hall and Blickling Hall are both just in 10 miles from Swafield Hall. The house is mentioned in "The Buildings of England" by Nicolaus Pevsner and Bill Wilson and has an impressive brick and flint Tudor North facade and beautiful lime washed Georgian South elevation. Local legend reports that Admiral Horatio Nelson stayed in the house. He visited the local area many times and attended Paston Grammar School, North Walsham, until he was 12 years old. North Walsham is 2 miles from Swafield. At Swafield Hall guests can enjoy all beautiful gardens, use the tennis court, croquet lawn, barbecue, tables at the parterre for outdoor breakfasts / dinners, seating area in the large wooden Victorian style conservatory, outdoor sunbathing area with deck chairs and cocktail table, shaded relaxation area with a hammock near the parterre and the main lawn, relaxation area in the Arabian Secret garden with a lime tree canopy and two benches etc. The house has ample parking in the tudor courtyard. Guests' bicycles can be securely stored overnight. You can see recent photos of Swafield Hall online (search SwafieldHall). The Butterfly reserve, Paston Way and Dilham to North Walsham canal (Norfolk’s only artificial, locked sailing canal) are 5 minutes walk from the Hall and ideal for leisurely walks or bicycle rides.
The nearest villages to the estate are Swafield (1 mile), with famous local butcher Tavern Tasty Meats and Trunch (1.7 miles) with St Botolph church and a popular pub ‘The Crown Inn‘ . The most interesting part of St Botolph in Trunch is its magnificent wooden carved font canopy, one of only four such surviving canopies in all of England. The nearest coastal resort is Mundesley, with its wonderful sandy beach and great pubs (2.9 miles walk/drive).
  • Fantastic stay what a find; great to experience such an interesting property in a beatiful part of the country. Boris and Tim were very welcoming and gave good recommendations for places to eat and visit! Wonderful gardens and grounds to enjoy too.

  • The flat was lovely. The house is exactly as described; a wonderfully renovated estate house with a series of beautiful gardens, excellent hiking trails nearby and close to the amenities of the area.

  • ....it is a rarity to book accommodation that possesses so much character and charm. I find that words cannot really justify the beauty and unique character of this place, only a visit in person can...

  • We had a great stay at Swafield Hall. The house and garden are lovely and so full of character and history. The East Wing was exactly as described and in the photos. I personally found the bed to be extremely comfortable and had some of the best nights sleep I've had for a long time. Boris and Tim are great hosts. It is clear that they love the house and are doing everything they can to restore it to their former glory. We are highly likely to return to Swafield Hall when we next come back to Norfolk.

    Matthew2016-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • The house and grounds are both amazing. Boris and Tim have done a fantastic job with the restoration. I have stayed in both wings and they are both as good as you could wish for.

    Oliver2017-03-30T00:00:00Z
  • Would certainly recommend. Very nice setting, great rooms and very friendly welcome. Boris and Tim are excellent hosts

    Andy2017-04-10T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful hosts in a grand old house being lovingly restored. The accommodation is in the newly restored part of the house, which has been done tastefully, a clean, comfortable self contained flat with the most amazing bathroom. With a grand garden that includes a tennis court, croquet lawn and a hammock you could spend many lazy days here.

    Zsuzsa2016-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • What a magnificent house. It was spotlessly clean and very interesting historically. It had character and style. Boris and Tim are the perfect hosts, nothing is too much trouble and they are very interested in making your stay a good one. The gardens are also fabulous. We would recommend a stay here.

The Little Wooden House is situated on a chalet park in Bacton. It's 200m from the beach that is good for fishing; as well as sand castle making, swimming, surfing, sea kayaking & SUP, tides permitting. The lanes, trails & countryside are perfect for cyclists, walkers & runners.
The Little Wooden House is our cherished retreat where we escape from the demands of modern daily life, so with this in mind, there is no wifi & mobile coverage can be very patchy. It is like going back in time but that's why we love it. The Little Wooden House is an open plan wooden structure. It is very much like a big beach hut but with the added comfort of bedrooms & shower rooms. It has 2 bedrooms. The main bedroom has a king sized bed. There is also a little tv with digi box & an en-suite shower room. The second bedroom has 1 set of bunkbeds with a double b d on the bottom & single in the top. There are toys & game in this bedroom for rainy days too. The main living area has two sofas & a table that can extend to seat 6. The kitchen has all you need to cater for yourselves, Kettle, toaster, fridge with a really small freezer & a bottle fridge. There is also a digital tv with dvd player & DAB/CD/Radio. There is also a second shower room at the entrance of the Little House where sandy children can be showered down! PLEASE NOTE There is NO FLUSHING LOO inside the Little Wooden House. There is a 'Bucket & Chuck It' loo for emergencies wees. The toilets are situated a very short walk from the Little House in a red brick building, with pantile roof that is clean & has separate sides for ladies & gentlemen. They are locked & each chalet has keys. A wash bag containing everything you need is supplied by us. The Little Wooden House sits on the edge of a very big grassed area looking towards Bacton Church. The grassed area is great place for children to play of just sit & watch the sunset.
Bacton has a pub (The Duke), a very well stocked shop (Bacton Superstore), cafe (Sugar & Spice) which is brilliant, a chinese restuarant (The Sea Star) & the best Chip Shop (The Bacton Fish Shop). These are all found in walking distance of the Little Wooden House. The Beach is very quiet & huge so if you are looking for solitude, it will be perfect. It is tidal so when the tide is in there is little or no beach but I always provide you with the tide times for your stay. You can be lucky & spot the odd seal or harbour porpoise. I've been told it's an excellent beach for sea fishing & shrimping, but not done either yet!! If you are a keen open water swimmer, the beach is ideal. Also not far away is Sea Palling which is very sheltered & not so affected by the tides. There are designated walks nearby too, the Norfolk Coast Path runs for 63 miles from Hunstanton to Sea Palling, with the majority of this walking trail running through the dramatic landscape of the Norfolk Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. See seaside towns and villages, tidal marshes teeming with wildlife, wide sandy beaches, pine woodlands and huge skies. Paston Way is another walk. Paston Way is a 22 mile walk between Cromer and North Walsham, the area has beautiful medieval churches. Each church has its own hidden history and one was even moved brick by brick from a cliff top to save it from the sea. There are 14 of the fine churches on the Paston Way & the trail covers 29.5 miles. There are also the 'Quiet Lanes'. Norfolk was the first county in Britain to introduce Quiet Lanes. They are country lanes where motorists are encourged to take particular care in the presence of cyclists, walkers and horseriders. These quiet country lanes occupy a triangle of North East Norfolk, from Cromer to Bacton along the coastal area, and inland to North Walsham. Covering some 36 miles they are not a continuous network, but link with many other lightly trafficked lanes for riders to create their own routes. The entry and exit points of each Quiet Lane are clearly signed. If you are looking for a more traditional seaside village Mundesley is the next village or there is Cromer which is further along coast.
  • The Little Wooden House is a lovely family-friendly place to get away in north Norfolk - close to the beach, handy for a range of lovely places to visit and equipped with everything we needed. Inside it is delightfully furnished and very comfortable. Dani is a great host and was really accommodating. We will be back!

    Adam2017-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • Fab holiday at the Little Wooden House. We had that much needed break as a family & thoroughly enjoyed the unspoilt beaches & walks. Great little place & Dani was the most amazing host, great communication throughout & all the added little extras when we arrived added to a great few days away.

    Ann-Marie2017-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Wow, we absolutely fell in love with the Little Wooden House, and it provided us with everything we needed. Unfortunately the weather let us down but we could easily imagine how perfect the whole scene would be on a summers day. Beautifully looked after with lots of personality we really felt at home here. Yummy cake on arrival and presents for each of the kids, they especially enjoyed the novelty of the bunk beds. The DVD collection also proved useful during the really wet spells when we didn't brave the beach. Thank you for letting us stay in your Little Wooden House, it was lovely and warm on the cold days and it was a perfect retreat from daily life. We also loved the fact there was no phone signal or wifi!!!. Excellent value for money, great communication before and during our stay, helped find alternative activities when the weather got really bad. Will hopefully return to experience Bacton beach in the sunshine.

  • This was our second trip to the Little Wooden House and we enjoyed it every bit as much as the first. Dani is a great host and the house is brilliant. We're already planning our next trip!

    Richard2016-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • Once we had unpacked our bags it was like The Little Wooden House was our home from home. So cosy and everything supplied that you could need. Lots of info left about the surrounding area allowed us to explore the beautiful coastline over the weekend. Was great to be able to escape to somewhere so quiet. Thanks for the cake too! :).

    Cassie2016-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fabulous shirt stay in The Little Wooden House. Dani had thought of everything and more required for our stay! Separate toilets didn't bother us as we're used to camping and these facilities were much nicer than usual. Once again, thank you Dani for our lovely break. We hope to return again very soon!

    Ruby2015-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at the little wooden house was great. everything was exactly as described. Danni went out of her way to welcome us with cakes, presents for our children, and non dairy milk (as one of us can't drink cows milk). Great value. Just a fantastic place to stay. We will be back!

    Richard2015-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Location is amazing so close to the scenic beach, great for all ages. Lots to do even on rainy days, the little house has all you may need. Would highly recommend x

Private Chalet located on a Chalet Park on the North Norfolk Coast. Having recently undergone refurbishment we hope you enjoy staying here as much as we do. The beach is within walking distance otherwise it is a short drive to the Beach Car Park on Beach Road. It is a sandy beach, accessed via a concrete ramp. There are two bedrooms and the lounge area can sleep a further 2 if necessary on a double sofa bed. Pets are welcome but please do ask. An extra cleaning fee will be charged in lieu.
This is a family chalet, having recently undergone a full revamp following 30 plus years of ownership. It may appear a little rustic but we love it. There is parking in front of the Chalet for two cars, there are some flag stones to park on with the second car to the right of that. It has modern appliances including a washing machine, induction hob, dishwasher, fridge and microwave oven. We will provide some instructions for these. There is a tv and dvd player with a small selection of films, there are also some books. The double sofa folds out to provide a double bed, there is extra bedding for this. Outside there is a locked storage chest where there are some picnic chairs and games.
  • We stayed at the chalet for a short weekenf break and loved every bit. The chalet itself is newly renovated and equiped with everything you could need! Clean and cosy. The chalet park very tidy and quiet. Perfect to relax and enjoy lovely sea air! We would highly recommend this place. Many thanks to the hosts for letting us stay there!

  • Great chalet, had everything you needed and very accessible for the disabled elderly person in our party.

    Alison2017-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • Spotlessly clean and comfortable chalet on a small, quiet park. A few minutes walk to the village and beach. Highly recommended.

    Alan2017-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely chalet on a quiet and friendly park. Michael and Hannah have made a welcoming holiday home with everything that you need and modern furnishings. Great location close to Mundesley village centre and the beach, and with other beaches and attractions close by.

    Kate2017-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • This chalet is a super stay, it is modern, clean and warm - with washing machine, dishwasher and fridge all looking like new. There was plenty of room for myself and 2 children with two good sized bedrooms and a nice lounge / kitchen area. The instructions and guidelines provided by Michael and Hannah were very clear and useful. The park itself is in a lovely location, nice and quiet but only a few minutes walk down to the beach or town facilities. Certainly recommend staying here if you want a chilled out break by the sea!

200-year-old spacious cottage, completely renovated in 2008, combines modern amenities with period charm. Two miles from sandy beaches and a 16-mile drive from Norwich. Courtyard garden for summer barbecues, woodburning stove for winter warmth.
The cottage is part of a much-loved family homestead, and has ample space for up to eight people to stay in comfort. The entire place was renovated in 2008, so there are modern amenities throughout. Downstairs, you'll find a large open plan living and dining space, with a woodburner for the winter months (which complements the very efficient central heating). There's a bathroom just off the living space, and a fully equipped kitchen beyond. You'll also find one of the cottage's unique features downstairs - a double-height space that's been converted into a bedroom. Kids love it - there's a sleeping platform up high (with a double mattress and a couple of sleeping bags up there) and two single beds down below. Upstairs you'll find a master bedroom with a double bed, and a second bedroom with twin beds next door. There's also a second bathroom up here, with a shower and toilet. There's a small courtyard garden up front, and a larger one out back.
Lessingham is a tiny village with a busy local pub - The Star, winner of the Norfolk CAMRA Rural Pub of the Year award in 2017 (http://www.edp24.co.uk/news/all-about-the-community-and-the-beer-the-star-at-lessingham-named-rural-pub-of-the-year-1-5021613) - that's just 90 seconds walk from the cottage. Within easy walkable reach you'll find beautiful sandy beaches and Happisburgh's iconic lighthouse and outsized local church, with a tower you can climb some weekends in the year. If you're looking to eat out, there are some great options - the Star just up the road for pub grub, the Swan in neighbouring Ingham for restaurant fare, and seaside startups Small Sticks and Burgers on the Beach for lunch and brunch. There are some great food shopping options too. Just a short drive away in Stalham, there's a large Tesco's and a really great local butcher (Cawdron's), and in Truly Local you can source ingredients and fresh produce that's all grown locally. You can also explore two nearby farm shops: Cook's of Ingham and Meale's near Wayford Bridge. And for fresh fish and seafood, The Fair Maiden in Happisburgh is a great option. The Norfolk Broads are on your doorstep, and it's easy to hire a day launch to explore by water. Day trips to seaside gem Cromer, upscale shops at Holt, the medieval sights and excellent shopping in county town Norwich, the 19th century Hippodrome Circus in Great Yarmouth, and even to local theme park Pleasurewood Hills are all straightforward by car.
  • Was een heel leuk weekend , vriendelijk ontvangen en een mooi huis ! Aangename streek , leuke pub . Wil zekers terug .

  • Simple but beautiful location and a lovely feel about the cottage. We'd go back again and hide away from the world. Pub 2 minutes walk and so welcoming. A great place to while away the hours!

  • A lovely secluded cottage about 10 minutes drive from the sea. We also loved the local pub (2 minutes walk) that had just won the Rural Pub of the Year. Great food, fantastic choices of local brew, lively and friendly locals too.

  • We spend a girls weekend (three women between 30-40) at the cottage. We were welcomed by Matt's wonderful parents who explained everything, gave us a lot of tips and even gave us a bottle of milk as we forgot to buy some. The also offered us to take us into the next village by car the next day. We spent a wonderful weekend in the cosy cottage mainly around the fireplace;-). It's a perfect place to get some peace and quiet and go for long walks or runs. We arrived by train and booked a cab with (URL HIDDEN) whom we also used throughout the weekend. They were extremely friendly and helpful. One evening we had dinner at the Lessingham star (pub next to the cottage) - highly recommended! The kitchen of the cottage is very well equipped, it's very clean, very nice bathrooms and comfy beds! All in all a great place in a wonderful place!

  • Very welcoming and cosy, quiet & just what you want when you need to get away from everyday life! The star inn , is 90 seconds away and perfect for evening meals , booking is a must & small sticks cafe at the local beach is delightful, overall everybody was friendly & made us welcome

  • Had a wonderful time here. Not far from shops and the pub but feels nice and secluded.

    James2017-04-09T00:00:00Z
  • This was the perfect little bolt hole for our family of five. We only had two nights but immediately felt at home, warm and cosy with plenty of room and good bedding. A lovely walk to and from the beach (even though we took a meandering route!) and great cafe near beach. I like to think we bought the sun with us too, or maybe it always shines there.....

    Rachel2016-05-03T00:00:00Z
