Five min. walk from the house is a nice cafe and a small grocery store. Take in a very nice view over the lake while enjoying a small meal or a drink. It is open every day in the summer, on weekends in winter, but closed Jan.-Mar. In the surrounding area there are many opportunities for hiking, in particular a popular trail to the highest waterfall in Iceland, a horse rental, and warm outdoor swimming pools.

We are a Family of four, Hannes is a professor of chemistry at the University of Iceland, Helga is working part time as a hairdresser. Our home is in west Reykjavík, 10 min from downtown. We enjoy art, reading, music, films and comfort/pleasure of live. We regulary do yoga and love travelling and to meet people from around the world. We have two children and a small dog.
