I am an avid traveler, with a passion for creating beauty, be it in designing a room, restyling a space, or redecorating my homes, which I do frequently. When planning travel, (and I have been staying in vacation rentals for twenty years), I look carefully at the details. Is there a window over the sink? Does the bedroom get morning light? Did they photograph the bathroom with the toilet seat up? (I know, but that's an important detail in hospitality). I have owned and managed two luxury B&B's in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Back in my home state of California, I am launching a new venture that is a dream of mine, and organic food farm. This will be a slow launch, but I'm excited for the road ahead. I have lived in Florence, Italy, my favorite place on earth, and attended culinary school there at a James Beard Academy. My kitchens reflect my other passion for hosting guests and serving good food. My priorities in life have changed through the years, and with three grown children out traveling the world, I could not be happier. I can't live without; a vacation on the horizon, a sumptuous organic bed with fine linens, organic food, and comfortable shoes for exploring the cobblestone streets of Europe with my hubby, Mike. I have been in every state except four here in the U.S. (Maine, I am coming), have sailed the Caribbean and Tahitian Isles, frequent Hawaii to visit my "Bestie", where we watch the sunrise over the Mokaluas on Lanikai beach, every chance we get. We have been know to drive to the other side of the Island to watch the sun set on the same day. That is living in beauty for me. I love to research little know corners of well travelled places, and help anyone who asks plan their travel. I wish restaurants still passed out matches, because I'd have a trunk full, and it would make it a treasure hunt just to sift through them and find that ONE GREAT BELLINI BAR in Venice. If you're not sold on Mexico, you haven't been to Troncones, and I've lost count of how many times I've brushed up on my limited Spanish. Morocco is a must, and I hope to get back there, and a sail down the Nile, would be just fine with me. My personal motto? Life is a ride, so roll down the windows and breathe in the fresh air!
