This perfect Rocky Mountain log cabin on 5 private acres has an incredible view of Pike's Peak and provides for a quiet, peaceful stay. The 1500 sq ft space has 3 bedrooms-one bedroom is a loft. 4-7 people sleep comfortably, however there are enough beds to accommodate up to 10 if you are willing to bunk together or have young children. The master is the quietest, largest room with one full bed and a set of twin bunks, attached bathroom with large tub and separate shower. The smaller guest room has a full bed, and the loft has a full bed and set of twin bunks overlooking the living room. The second bathroom is on the main floor next to the guest room with a walk in shower, sink and toilet. Full kitchen includes granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances. The wood burning stove, fireplace and over-sized deck completes this quiet haven. There is also a 2 car over-sized detached garage and open single carport to keep your vehicles warm and dry. The house key also opens the garage and an automatic garage door opener is provided. Please understand that there are 2 bunks (4 beds) and 3 full beds, also called a "double." A "full" bed is not the width or length of a queen. It does not hold 2 adults males and only barely holds an adult male and a female. That is why we say the cabin is comfortable for 6 adults and only more if there are children.
The cabin is on 5 acres and you have access to the entire property. Please be careful of snow and ice during the winter months both walking to the cabin and walking the property. Walking sticks are available and they do help. Within travel distance (30 minutes to 2 hours) is Denver, Monarch ski resort (incredible Cat skiing), Breckenridge ski resort, Pikes Peak and its attractions, horseback riding, Collegiate Peak 14ers, fishing, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, hiking, Woodland Park shopping and antiquing, Colorado Springs, Garden of the Gods, Cave of the Winds, Santas North Pole, Cripple Creek gambling, Manitou Brewery, ATV trails, bike trails and rafting trips, among other things. In short, there is a lot to do.

My wife and I, brother and sister-in-law reside in Colorado. We also have a care taker in the immediate area if necessary. You can contact one of us to assist you with whatever you need to make your stay great. Email on airbnb is probably best. Contact information provided upon booking. Just FYI, I really do not show up during your stay (unless you would want me to). I know this is your vacation so I try to stay out of the way.

Try to stay informed of the current and future weather and fire conditions. At this altitude (9200') we do get a lot of snow in a very short period of time. However, the sun melts it very fast and it does not linger on the ground very long. The driveway is not that long (approximately 450 feet) but it is an incline of approximately 10 degrees or so. It can get slick in the winter. Fire danger in the summer is real. Also since there is very spotty internet access it is best to remember or print out items from the internet that you may not access when you are at the cabin. "Wild Blue" is the internet provider for remote areas of Colorado and I found that its service was not much better. Therefore, instead of making unrealistic expectations that you will have access, be prepared that you will not. This is a cabin with no asphalt, no cement driveway and burning wood in both the fireplace and wood burning stove. Although we have maids clean the cabin before and after every single guest, there are times ash or pebbles from the property may be on the floor, which is highly normal for a Rocky Mountain log cabin. Finally, you may or may not have phone service at the cabin. I have heard AT&T is horrible. I have Verizon and it works adequately, but not great. I have heard serious service issue with the service provider out here so I did not want to create situation where I say we have service and it doesn't work. Therefore, I simply say prepare for not having service at the cabin. This is a vacation so you need to be unplugged for a bit anyways. Give it a try. Its worth it.
Please be respectful of the premises and neighbors particularly when out by the campfire. Be careful with the fire pit outside and fireplace and wood burning stove inside. Forest fires are a major concern so please confirm all fires are out even if water is necessary before you leave the premises. Please smoke outside and do not start the ATVs. Simply pile all dirty towels in the bathroom upon leaving and please remember to take all your garbage. The lot is 5 acres and you should try to stay on the property. Just FYI as you are looking at Pike's Peak the property goes to the left. The green house is on the property line to the right. Even though many of the adjacent lots are undeveloped/vacant land, please try to respect other's land. You can help yourself to any of the food, condiments, dishes, silverware and the like in the kitchen, refrigerator, freezer or pantry. You can use any appliance (coffee maker, rice cooker, blender, toaster, dutch oven, etc), just remember there is no sink garbage disposal and you must take your garbage with you. I usually just take it with me when I go to the gas station but caution you can really only take one bag at a time. There is no curb-side garbage pickup available. If you have a lengthy stay it may be necessary to clean out the ash from the fireplace or wood burning stove. Well-mannered pets are welcome but obviously they must relieve themselves outside and all inside messes must be cleaned appropriately. You can leave the towels & bedding as the maids will take care of them. Remember: There is very spotty reception at the cabin so plan accordingly. Finally, the key is on the right side of the cabin as you are facing it in a lock box. The code is 2266. Please remember to put the key back and spin the numbers to lock it. If you are thinking of an event or party please communicate with me first so you can get approval. Not all types of parties or events are allowed. Thank you.
