An excellent, super-clean, convenient flat for one or two people. Derek is a good host, very responsive, and he's equipped the place with everything needed, even fresh milk, butter, and bottled water to get started. He was quick to respond when I thought I needed an extra night due to airline problems. Personable and helpful, and he lives nearby.
Location is in the prosperous Marylebone residential area, and a few blocks away in all directions are shopping, restaurants, and public transit (3-4 short blocks for the busses and tube). Although on a residential street, there is a bit of noise because the flat is on the first floor with the bedroom overlooking the street. It didn't bother me. Close to St Mary's Church, which chimes but only till 10 pm, so a wonderful quaint sound. Stairs are carpeted and not particularly steep.
Kitchen at the back has modern stove and all amenities (including iron, cooking things, washer, dry rack), plus large window for excellent light. Bathroom is two rooms - small toilet room and small sink/shower room. As a larger person, it was a bit of a squeeze to open and close door in the shower room, but it was all so clean and well-equipped it didn't matter. Shower modern and large. Living room at front, next to bedroom with super big, very comfortable bed, a working desk, and plenty of room to story my clothes.
Very nice neighborhood walks in Marylebone - terraced houses, flower baskets. Always felt very safe as a woman alone, even late at night. Closest major street with shops is Baker Street, but past that one can walk over the Marylebone High Street for more shopping and the Wallace Collection Museum.
I would happily stay here again!
