Nestled at the top of a 3-flat walk up & flooded with natural light, my place is a mellow oasis in bustling Wicker Park. It's only a 10 min stroll from the Damen Blue Line stop with easy access to downtown and Logan Square. And, steps from the 606.

Nestled at the top of a 3-flat walk up & flooded with natural light, my place is a mellow oasis in bustling Wicker Park. It's only a 10 min stroll from the Damen Blue Line stop with easy access to downtown and Logan Square. And, steps from the 606.

A full sized bed and light blocking shade makes for a comfortable night's sleep. The Nest thermostat ensures an even temperature. In your private bathroom you'll find soap, shampoo, conditioner and fresh towels. You also have access to the washer/dryer. My mid-century modern inspired living space has an turntable and a growing vinyl collection, speakers, a sub, and a 55” Samsung curved LED TV with HBO Go, Netflix, and Hulu via Apple TV. The living room makes for a perfect spot to chill out on a lazy day or get the energy going before you hit the always bumpin’ night scene. The kitchen is fully stocked and I strive for minimalism in this area so it's easy to navigate. There are also a few grocery stores within walking distance. I deep clean the entire apartment before guests arrive. There's also plenty of free street parking no permits necessary. I usually find a spot directly in front of my place.

You'll have your own private bedroom and bathroom and the common areas, which include the kitchen, washer/dryer, living room and deck.

I'm happy to take you out or leave you be, let me know your style. I started being a host for Airbnb in 2012 (at another listing) to meet fellow travelers and pad my travel budget. I go to a lot of shows (music) in the area and have a solid group of buddies if you want to hang w/ the locals. I'm usually home around 8 on the week nights.

Right off the 606 walking path, this hood is vibrant with restaurants, music venues, parks, shops, yoga, bars. For all you foodies, I'm practically next door neighbors with Rick Bayless. You can see his backyard / urban farm from the 606, it's impressive. Continue on for more specific recommendations all within walking distance.

Grocery: Mariano's is a 15-minute walk with everything you need, Goddess and the Grocer and Olivia's are just down the street and have a good variety, albeit slightly pricey. Walgreens is also nearby.

Breakfast + Coffee: there's a lot of options but the Wormhole is my favorite for taste and personality. The joint wears its reverence to blockbuster films of the ’80s right on its sleeve, including a giant DeLorean from Back to the Future. Stan's donuts is my preferred donut shop, Glazed and Infused is right across the street if you want to do your own taste test and Bro Bagel has some pretty delish sandwiches.

Tacos: Big Star is the most well known, it's also the local watering hole. The decor reminds of a Quentin Tarantino movie, tacos are about $3 and the margaritas are delicious but can be lethal. Expect a 2 hour wait on the weekends though :/. If you're just going for bites the pick up window is quick. Antique Taco is another joint down the street, they switch up their menu more with seasonal fare. I'm also proud to say Wicker Park is home to the only Taco Bell with a bar in it - in the country!

Restaurants: Rick Bayless' Xoco for more Mexican fare. Mindy's Hot Chocolate is known as the best dessert place in town and their menu is complete with equally tasty American fare from the James Beard award winner. Small Cheval exclusively serves burgers, the most popular dish at parent restaurant Au Cheval in Chicago's West Loop. Club Lucky is a neighborhood Italian place with lots of character and great martinis. Hit up Le Bouchon for french food.

Cheap Eats: En Hakkore for Korean BBQ, Ian's Pizza for unusual toppings like Mac 'N Cheese pizza, Santullo's for NYC style pizza, or Lou's for Chi's legendary deep dish, Big and Little's for everything under the sun, Al's Beef for Italian beef sandwiches (another Chicago institution) and so much more.

Beers / Dive Bars: Map Room is my favorite with 200 beers from around the globe plus travel books for browsing. Phyllis Musical Inn has live music hit or miss, Happy Village has ping pong and Ranibo Club is my fav straight dive bar. Emporium Arcade is also fun if you're looking for games. The Charleston is good for casual conversation and has cocktails as well. Bangers and Lace has a robust draft list, 2 ounce tastes and knowledgeable staff.

Cocktails / Wine: Violet Hour is a speakeasy with a hidden door, Bom Bolla is a Cava bar with Spanish fare and the Bedford is good for both cocktails and dinner, it's in an old bank with the original vault. Revel room is a cocktail bar and lounge with a library.

You're a 10 min walk from the Damen Blue Line stop aka all of the action. This puts you about 40 minutes from the airport via train ($2.25) or a $30 / 30 min cab from O'hare and 30 min from downtown, Millennium Park, the Art Institute, etc.

Per the Airbnb coverage insurance policy, I have to inform guests that in the instance of theft or damage guests are liable for all covered losses meaning guests have an express obligation for any loss or damage during their stay.

If you're a decent human, or at least act like it, we'll get along swimmingly. I'm pretty chill. As far as food and drink goes, what's mine is yours. I keep the place stocked with coffee, wine, beer, fruit and frozen pizza at the minimum (ya know, the essentials). If you smoke, go on the patio please.

If you plan on having more then 2 guests please let me know.

I keep the apartment's temperature set to about 68° - 75°. The thermostat is in my bedroom, please let me know if you plan on being home during the weekdays and I'll adjust it in the winter, it can get a little cold.

Other then that, please put your dishes in your dishwasher and hang the towels in your bathroom.

I developed a serious case of wanderlust at a young age with 3 passports (US, UK and Australia) and family across the globe. Being lucky enough to travel growing up I had the opportunity to experience South Africa and Europe intimately with family. In college I took traveling on my own and studied abroad in Sydney, interned abroad in London and in the states in Chicago. Once I graduated I made the move from sunny southern California for urban living in Chicago and have been here for 5 years.

- Always hungry, scouring Chicago for the best tacos & street food around. I'll class it up on occasion with an actual restaurant.
- Regular in the music festival scene & try to see a show at least once a month
- LOVE meeting people and experiencing other cultures first hand

Hopefully we can grab a taco together & party. If you just want to stay & chill on your own that's cool too.
