Hi Folks! Welcome to the “Osmyn Parker House”!
I have lovingly restored this old 1887 Queen Anne and it has been featured in numerous newspaper articles as well as being the center piece for several annual Historic Denver house tours. Being the sole resident of this grand old house, only 9 blocks from the center of the city, I love sharing it with interesting travelers!!!
This beautiful home lies in the the heart of the San Rafael Historic district, one of Denver's greatest historic neighborhoods close to downtown, City Park, 17th Avenue Restaurant Row and so much more. Relax outside on our beautiful and peaceful back patio or jump on a bike (the Denver B-Cycle station is only two blocks away!) and tour around Denver. You are welcome to use the kitchen, living and dining as well.
While things are very "walkable", there is also a bus stop just across the street or a cab ride to the convention center (center of downtown) is only $6-8 in inclement weather.
Since we are opening up our home and our lives to you we would greatly appreciate it if you would make sure that your profile is filled out before you submit a request.
This is a NO SMOKING home.
Share this beautiful home with me ... the dining room, living room, kitchen and peaceful backyard is yours to use. This is a very social household, so don't be surprised to find friends or neighbors in the back yard to join for a glass of wine. Please feel free to come and go as you please. I am very sociable but do not expect that you must be. Ask as many questions as you like, join for a glass of wine or be as private as you wish. You will have a bath across the hall that is shared with a single room if it is occupied by a guest. I am not a Bed and Breakfast and although there will surely be tea and coffee on hand, please expect to take care of yourself for all of your meals. Also, since I am opening up my home and and life to you I would greatly appreciate it if you would make sure that your profile is filled out before you submit a request.
Jim was an excellent host with a beautiful, well cared for home. I can't recommend this place and ease of location enough...had a great time and would look forward to staying here again if the opportunity arose.
It was a really nice experience staying with James. We had a trouble at first with the reservation, but, it didn't even took him 5 minutes to solve it. The house where I stayed is really lovely, it's near to a supermarket and a 10 min or less walk away of downtown.
James is respectful and is not intrusive, he can give you some good pieces of advice. He gave me a recommendation about where to get some clothes for the cold wheater and gave me some tickets from the local transpiration too.
I just have to say that it was a nice and comfortable time. You won't regret.
It was my first time to use Airbnb and thanks to James' warm welcome, my fist experience with Airbnb turns out to be successful! He was very welcoming and helped me feel like home! I was worried about the cold weather and being cold during my stay at his place but his house is warm enough and provides me with very warm comfort!
James' place was just what I was looking for. The room was clean and cozy, and the bed was amazingly comfortable. The bathroom was stylish and the rest of the house beautiful. James was very accommodating with my unfortunately late arrival, and totally laid back around use of the house. I could walk downtown in 25 min. There's a grocery store one block away, and a nice little bakery/cafe next door. The neighbourhood is beautiful. I feel fortunate to have scored this location for my week-long conference. Thanks again James!
great !! perfect!!

This indeed is a cozy -- i.e. tiny -- room. But I spent little time in it, as I had the run of the house. And what a house it was! It's gorgeous. Mr. Wiseman is a very friendly man and a great host. I felt very much at home. The neighborhood felt very safe and I walked to the 16th St. Mall a few times. I also ate at several places on 17th recommended by Mr. Wiseman.
The closest to being-home-experience I had so far! The house is like nothing I have seen before! It is a carefully restored building from 19th century, with the style preserved and every single thing working perfectly. The location is just ideal – walking distance to downtown and with plenty of cozy places around to pop in for a cup of coffee or a dinner! Coming with a car – no worries, there will be a place for it on the street with no fees to be paid.
Staying over only for two nights, I was overwhelmed with James's hospitality! Wish I could stay longer.. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, James!
I would not be the first one to say it, but if you are planning your visit to Denver and looking for a place to stay, look no further!

Hi folks, I am an early adopter of "airbnb". I have not used it for travel as much as I would like but have been hosting and enjoying it since summer, 2011. My active life style includes being a ski instructor in Vail, tennis, sailing when I make the time, motorcycle travel (having done of lot of solo stuff in Mexico), etc. Intellectually curious and I like keeping up with global happenings. Travel style? Casual, low maintenance and self sufficient, enjoy the local color, been half way around the planet. Have owned my own company for over three decades being involved in urban redevelopment and historic restoration. Cheers!
