Hi Folks! Welcome to the “Osmyn Parker House”!
I have lovingly restored this old 1887 Queen Anne and it has been featured in numerous newspaper articles as well as being the center piece for several annual Historic Denver house tours. Being the sole resident of this grand old house, only 9 blocks from the center of the city, I love sharing it with interesting travelers!!!
This beautiful home lies in the the heart of the San Rafael Historic district, one of Denver's greatest historic neighborhoods close to downtown, City Park, 17th Avenue Restaurant Row and so much more. Relax outside on our beautiful and peaceful back patio or jump on a bike (the Denver B-Cycle station is only two blocks away!) and tour around Denver. You are welcome to use the kitchen, living and dining as well.
While things are very "walkable", there is also a bus stop just across the street or a cab ride to the convention center (center of downtown) is only $6-8 in inclement weather.
Since we are opening up our home and our lives to you we would greatly appreciate it if you would make sure that your profile is filled out before you submit a request.
This is a NO SMOKING home.
Share this beautiful home with me ... the dining room, living room, kitchen and peaceful backyard is yours to use. This is a very social household, so don't be surprised to find friends or neighbors in the back yard to join for a glass of wine. Please feel free to come and go as you please. I am very sociable but do not expect that you must be. Ask as many questions as you like, join for a glass of wine or be as private as you wish. You will have a bath across the hall that is shared with a single room if it is occupied by a guest. I am not a Bed and Breakfast and although there will surely be tea and coffee on hand, please expect to take care of yourself for all of your meals. Also, since I am opening up my home and and life to you I would greatly appreciate it if you would make sure that your profile is filled out before you submit a request.
Jim is an incredible host! I came for a conference and left feeling like I got just as much out of my great conversations with Jim. He immediately makes you feel at home and ensures you get to know a bit about the history of the house and the neighborhood. Exactly how people should welcome and treat each other!
James and his 1887 Victorian home, you must not miss if you're staying in Denver. He has lovingly restored this gem and has added some modern-day amenities, such as air conditioning and a great rain-shower shower head in the bathroom, making this place an ideal mix of old and new. It really is within walking distance to Downtown and other cool neighborhoods. James goes out of way for his guests, and he is very personable and laid back. If you're able to stay with him, you're in for a rare treat: Staying at a beautiful Victorian home with an owner who welcomes you to share this special place with him.
I will definitely stay here next time I am in Denver. Jim was very welcoming and a great host. I wish I had more time to sit in the backyard and enjoy a glass of wine with Jim. The house is beautiful and is located in a neat neighborhood.
James was a wonderful host. My flight was delayed by an hour, which James was more than accommodating, requiring him to rearrange his dinner plans. He was incredibly warm, and made sure that I was comfortable making myself at home. The house and it's furnishings was as lovely as any bed and breakfast I've stayed in, at a fraction of the cost. Highly recommend!
Everything went very smooth. Everything was as described. Good location and close to downtown. I would stay again for sure. Very accommodating host.
I had an amazing stay at Jim's lovely home for the month of May. Great location with easy access to everything. Amazing local coffee shops and access to the bus system as well as b-cycle stops. Jim gave great advice on where to eat and places to see. He opened his house up to me and I felt right at home. I also had the opportunity to meet lovely people from all over the country. I would highly recommend staying at this wonderfully restored historic house! I will definitely be returning in the future! :)
I had a wonderful stay with Jim. His place is a charming historic house with a lot of character located in a great and convenient location. It comes with all the amenities one would need. He was an exceptional host, which made my stay memorable. He is easy going, laid back, and very hospitable. Furthermore, I enjoyed sharing travel stories with him, as he has had some very unique travels around the world. I would highly recommend Jim as a host, if you are planning a trip to Denver.

Hi folks, I am an early adopter of "airbnb". I have not used it for travel as much as I would like but have been hosting and enjoying it since summer, 2011. My active life style includes being a ski instructor in Vail, tennis, sailing when I make the time, motorcycle travel (having done of lot of solo stuff in Mexico), etc. Intellectually curious and I like keeping up with global happenings. Travel style? Casual, low maintenance and self sufficient, enjoy the local color, been half way around the planet. Have owned my own company for over three decades being involved in urban redevelopment and historic restoration. Cheers!
