Please bring leave no trace ethics with you and an enjoyment of nature. Great star and nature watching.

This is a very unique location surrounded by national forest and only minutes away from homemade pizza and baked goods. There is no shower in the winter months and water should be packed. There are several streams however, that can be used as a water source if not frozen.

My husband and I loved our stay in Justin’s tipi! It was even more beautiful and scenic than we expected. Note to other guest: get your supplies (food and water) before heading up there or in to town. We had planned on stopping at the store at the bottom of the hill that Justin mentioned, however they were closed due their fall break. Luckily we had some stuff with us so we were fine, but we would’ve liked to have been more prepared. Also, bring extra lightning. We had flash lights, but when we were hanging out in the evening it wasn’t convenient to hold. It would have been nice to have a lantern or some candles. Overall though I would without a doubt recommend staying here!

We had a nice time in the Tipi. Beautiful location and took a nice hike to the waterfall. The foliage was gorgeous at this time of year. Thanks for the fun, fall adventure!

Such a gorgeous area! Perfect for peeping season. There is a nearby waterfall which is a treasure and many walking trails to nearby brooks/streams. Water is super clean and would definitely recommend swimming in (even in October). Access to many hikes nearby (within 25-30 mins). The wood stove is absolutely incredible to have going at night as it gets very chilly in the early am. It was very easy to maintain and cook with over the course of the weekend. We had no problem keeping the fire going as long as we checked throughout the night. One disclaimer is that the setup shown in the pictures is no what you may expect. Have everything you would normally bring camping aside from the tent! There is not a grassy area for activity near the site. Also water is a solid 20+ min walk so I would suggest bringing gallons. Inside tipi is very dark at night so I would suggest bringing multiple sources of light. The directions are tricky upon first reading them but upon arrival will make perfect sense to this location. Definitely bring an air mattress pump and also this tipi only provided one air mattress as opposed to the 2 advertised. I would definitely recommend this site!!!! We had an amazing weekend :)))

Risposta di Justin:
Someone stole the pump and one mattress during her stay. That has been corrected. The guest never contacted me about the issue during the stay and could have easily been corrected. Glad you had such a good stay and come again anytime.

The experience was nice. Know that you are roughing it out in the wilderness. No running water. Had no idea where the outhouse was since I arrived after it got dark. You are definitely in the forest. The road to it is a bit bumpy and if you have a low car, know that some of the rocks will hit your car underneath so drive really, really slowly. I wasn’t prepared. So make sure if you are coming from out of town, and have no gears or provisions, know that you will have an air mattress, a few blankets, a sleeping bag and somewhat of a pillow. There is a stove in the center of the Tipi. I wasn’t sure how to use it so didn’t burn any wood. There are chopped wood available for a price I believe. Pretty and peaceful place. Did hear an animal come around twice during the night. Know that the night did get quite chilly for October. Wish I had time to explore the area the next morning.

I have given a rather bad review for this host. We were two women alone on this huge property with no cell service and no one around for kms. Makes for a very uncomfortable situation. The issues we had were as follows: 1. Justin never showed up to welcome us as was expected. We were going to the area to hike and he was to tell us where to go. 2. The outhouse is located approximately 300 - 400 meters from the teepee and we had the closest teepee. 3. There was supposed to be hiking maps in the teepee to help with the planning of our hikes. They were no where to be found so we just walked around the property The only redeeming factor to this stay is that the property itself is beautiful (better upkeep would make it stunning) as it has small rivers running across it etc. 4. We are asked to put out the fire when we were finished with it. They provide a pail, which leaked. The closest water to be found to extinguish the fire was probably 400 meters away (there was a closer spot but we couldn't get to it because it was unkept and we couldn't get to it) so we walked to the closest river. We did this while it was light out and by the time we finished with the fire it was dark and low and behold the bucket with the leak was empty. So we had to make the trek back to the river in the dark, not fun. 5. Two blow up beds were provided in the teepee. One had a hole in it which we tried to fix with duct tape, without success. So my daughter and I slept on the other one. By early morning, we were both on the wooden platform as it also had a slow leak. 6. It was stated that there was wood in a wood shed near the barn. It was rather cold that night and Justin had left us 5 pieces of wood for the inside wood burning stove. This was not enough for the night and it got quite cool in the teepee. We looked for this wood shed and never found cut wood. 7. Some wood was left on a makeshift platform a few meters from the teepee, but we had to use and ax to cut it. 8. The following morning as we were getting ready to leave, my car wouldn't start. Of course this is not Justin's fault, but it was turning into a comedy of errors. Therefore, with no cell service we had to walk down the road to try and find help. I briefly got cell service and quickly texted Justin to ask him to send me a tow truck. He texted me that he couldn't do that and that there was a jumper pack in the barn. Again, two women here. so we finally managed to find a really nice neighbor...
