So, caveat about my review: Babacar, the host (an excellent one I should say in case you only read this far) has two guest houses on AirBnb in Saint-Louis and it turns out that while I booked this one I ended up staying at Titi. I don't recall to exact reason but it basically was an upgrade that I wasn't charged for. Don't tell anyone ;) I'm sure Babacar is just as good a host at the other one so this review is still appropriate. I had a really nice room and Titi was a beautiful guesthouse full of plants, art, nice light and space, an amazing rooftop, and coffee and baguettes were served for breakfast. It was a place that attracts interesting people to socialize with, from vacation travelers like myself to people working temporarily in the island at such gigs as working with street kids and organizing a hip hop festival (I would have gone to one of their shows if I had not had a migraine from my 8 hour bus ride from Dakar). Another guest who I met on arrival instantly became my inseparable travel buddy until our paths parted in central Senegal. One of our activities was a trip to Parc National des Oiseaux Djoudj which Babacar negotiated a much lower taxi rate for than I would have guessed possible. I loved Saint-Loius and was sorely tempted to extend my stay but new adventures were calling me. Thank you for your friendly and helpful hospitality Babacar!
