Altre cose da evidenziare

No car? It's still possible to get here. Travel from Glasgow onboard the Waverly, the worlds last sea going paddle steamer. The Waverly stops at Tighnabruaich pier on Sat' and Wed' during the summer months.
Or take a short trip onboard from Tighnabruaich, or just revel in the sight of this beautiful boat sailing through the Kyles.

Try out the new restaurant in the village, Botanica.

Visit Portavadie (4miles) and swim in the largest outdoor infinity pool in Scotland. It's bliss, even if it's raining.

My favourite is just to ditch the car for the week and walk everywhere.

Please note there is NO WI FI in the property, nearest wifi is at The Tighnabruaich Hotel in the Village

We had a fantastic time in Tighnabruaich. The landscape and the views were spectacular. Loads of things to do - even when it rained. The house was perfect for us (4 adults+ 4 kids). Well equipped and everything worked fine. The kids particularly enjoyed the games room on the couple of days when it rained. We even had a go kayaking - something we would not have done had the equipment not been available. All in all, an excellent week's stay.

The location of this house is brilliant, 20 metres from the shore and outstanding views from the top floor. The lane up to the house is unpaved and heavily rutted so would advise people with low profile wheels to park on the main road. The outside of the house is a little plain and tired looking but inside it's great. The top floor is outstanding, with awesome views and a huge living space. The bedrooms worked well for us and the showers are good, bath is big. The games room was a favourite every evening, much darts and table tennis played along with much laughter. The local shops have a limited range of supplies so advise bring any favourite foods with you and use the local shops for basics. The shop in Kames is better than the Spar in Tighnabruaich. Fishing from the pier was very successful, lots of other people to chat to when doing so. Midges (we went in July/Aug) are a pest in the evening if you leave the Velux windows open, so advise you don't, they are sometimes about in the morning too, but daytime is fine generally. we brought 2 kayaks and a small dinghy with us, there was enough space for us to get these down the side of the house and our Landcruiser as well. Thoroughly recommend this a a family friendly place in a wonderful location.

Lovely place, very quite and with loads of atmosphere. Both the livingroom / kitchen area and the games room were perfect for our party of 7 (2kids). We could have done with a better view - but as the house is built just up to another house, there is only a view from the top floor. We loved the area, for instance walks from Kilbride Farm or sailing to Tarbert

Great location - pebbly beach on your doorstep and village just a short walk or cycle. We visited quie a few places but Portavadie marina and spa and Ostel bay were the standout places. Spa pool and playground was great for our 5 and 2 year olds, whilst mum was spoilt with spa treatment. Ostel bay was the most amazing beach, though it does take a bit of organisation as there is a 20minute walk to it. Totally worth it tho' - beautiful white sand and few people there. Greg's property is super relaxing with beautiful decor in the living/kitchen space. All the extras - games, toys, bikes etc etc are such a bonus for a family. The people we met were also extremely friendly - the lady in Tighnabruich gallery was particularly helpful in suggesting places to walk and cycle with the kids. Great stuff!

We had a great time in this lovely village. The house was spacious with an amazing upstairs space, beautifully decorated and with beautiful views of the water. Lots of walking from the house and a ferry ride to Kyntire, where we found a beautiful castle and shellfish cafe at stillness. A tame Red deer coming up to us as we sat there ! Also ate at new restaurant at inver , beautiful food in glorious setting. Last night was made special by the local shinty team winning their league and celebrations at local Keems pub.. a night to remember. Everybody was so friendly Thank you so much Greg for your hospitality . Hope to come up for longer next time .. 3 nights definitely not long enough!
