Stay in a vintage 1960s tropical villa a short 5 min walk to MRT Lumpini or 5 min by bike to Silom and central Bangkok. Amidst Papaya, Jackfruit and Mango trees, his house oozes the atmosphere of the relaxed old Bangkok lifestyle! Quiet + 5 bikes! This listing has a double bed with 2 shared bathrooms (hot-water shower/toilet/sink) for 1 person. If there are more in your group we can house them in our 5 other listings. The house is an 11-room 1960s tropical villa near Silom in the heart of Bangkok. Green and quiet, ground floor, surrounded by mango and jackfruit trees, herb garden, with huge common area, open air Thai kitchen, storage pantry with hot/cold drinking water and tea. There is great wireless, free washing machines, refrigerator (in pantry) and weekly maid service. Enjoy exploring the neighborhood or Bangkok by bike as use of our 5 bicycles is complimentary! We also have parking spaces if you are with a car. There is a great food court two steps from our front door with great breakfasts and lunches for $1!

You have two entrances/exits: through either the front door or the pantry area. You have access to your room, the shared bathroom and all garden, open kitchen/common space outdoors and open pantry spaces.

We both work at home and are available to answer your questions about the city, help with phone calls, order airport taxis, etc.

Sathorn Soi 1 is part of the Sribumpen/Ngam Du Plee/Suan Plu neighborhood. Still very much like a Thai village with mostly mom 'n pop shops and restaurants, great street food, lots of reasonably priced and good massage. Fun to explore on foot or by bike. We are very close to MRT Lumpini and 1 stop to Silom night life and 3 stops to Sukhumvit, so right in the heart of Bangkok yet quiet, green and relaxed. There is a great food court two steps from our front door with great breakfasts and lunches for $1! Great street food, street coffee and Thailand’s famous Thai Iced Tea just a few steps from the front door!
Bangkok's famous Vertigo Bar on the top of the Banyan Tree is just 10 min walk from here, Asiatique Night Market is 30 min by bike, Silom night life a 15 min walk or short bike or taxi ride and Paragon, Central World and other malls also a close bike or taxi ride away.

See map posted in the photo section! We are very close, less than 5 min walk to MRT Lumpini and from there 1 hop to Silom or 3 to Sukhumvit. Plenty of taxis on Sathorn Soi 1, plus GrabTaxi and Uber work well here too. Lots of motorbike taxis by day, plus there are the 3 BIKES. We are about 25 to 30 minutes by taxi from either airport. If coming from BKK Suvarnabhumi you can also take the airport line to Makkasan and change there to the MRT in the direction of Hua Lamphong exiting at Lumpini Exit 4 for Q House/Life Center and from there walk 150 meter down Sathorn Soi 1 and turn left on Soi Goethe. Alternately you can take exit 1 (Lumpini Park View) and walk right on Rama 4 to Soi Ngam du Plee, turn right, walk 150 meters to the first right, Soi Goethe, and from there walk to our house. Our driveway is right next to EsPeRo Cafe on Soi Goethe, just across the street and 25 meters down from the German Goethe Institute.

For stays of one week or longer we charge electricity based on the meter reading @ 6 baht per unit (actual cost from electric company).
Pets are welcome but please keep them on a leash and clean up after them!
We have 5 bicycles that are included with the room rental. You are free to use one as long as you take care to use your own lock or one of ours and repair any flat tires or other damage.

Bangkok, Tailandia · Membro dal Settembre 2015

The Villa Habibi project began in mid-2015 when I took over an 11-room rambling 1960s tropical Thai-style villa near Silom on Sathorn Soi 1. I had always loved this neighborhood and stayed here whenever in Bangkok because of its real-Thailand-urban-village-feel. It has been lovingly restored and transformed into quiet, cozy, green studio apartments with a large common area. Surrounded by mango and jackfruit trees and with a small herb garden it is a small urban oasis of quiet and privacy. Having been a tenant myself in Bangkok before, I knew what expats wanted, whether for a short or long-term stay - kitchens, fast internet, good management and no tricks with deposits and hidden charges. Voila Villa Habibi... Our guests love us, so try to book ahead when possible.

I have lived in Bangkok for over 13 years. My partner Peter takes care of things when I am on the road with my other work as a concert pianist cultural diplomat in over 140 countries. We have a friendly and helpful management style while giving you all the privacy and freedom you need. I look forward to welcoming you to Bangkok and to Villa Habibi, our little oasis of peace and quiet in the heart of the Big Mango.
