Welcome to the Swiss Chalet! Have a nice stay surrounded by a beautiful tropical garden, take a bike and discover Punta Sur or take a short walk to enjoy the turquoise waters from Isla Mujeres!

This swiss style cabin is the perfect place if you enjoy to be in the nature and away from the stressful life of the city.

Swiss Chalet has a huge ground with tropical garden shared with another wood cabin, there is a campfire area available for the 2 accommodations.

Pia Fernández is the owner from the Swiss Chalet and she will be your host. You can contact me whenever something comes up and I will always be communicated with the owner.

Punta Sur is the highest area in Isla Mujeres where you can find one of the best views to the sea, it´s quiet to enjoy a walk and go to the viewing point from Punta Sur to appreciate a sunrise.

It´s easy to move around with a golf cart or an auto, as we have space to park. It´s also easy to grab a taxi in this area (it´s the only public transportation in the island).
We offer as extra services:
Bicycles and transportation from the center of Isla Mujeres to the Swiss Chalet, being our meeting point in our apartments hotel Sol Dorado in Francisco I. Madero street.
*This services have no extra cost and are subject to availability.

We live in an island where sometimes the services fail and are not fully under our control, such as; internet, phone and T.V signal, hot water, etc.

Valentina and Pia we wonderful hostesses on this beautiful island. We loved being on the quiet end of the island. We enjoyed morning walks along the cliffs on the east side to the park at the southern peninsula, snorkeling off the shores of the west side beach and happy hour at Casa de los Suenos. We loved being able to use the bikes and golf cart to get into town for shopping and fishing. Pia was an amazing host, very easy to communicate with and incredibly accommodating, she even helped us track down our luggage which had to be delivered from Cancun. We can't wait to come back!

It was a treat to escape the touristy north end of the island. Overall we enjoyed our week and there were many things to like: the large terrain around the house, the big trees and the sound of them blowing in the wind at night, the greenery, large windows with screens you can open, a comfortable bed, TV, a bench for our suitcases, the large shower’s with hot water. The bathroom is open concept - so now door on either the toilet or shower - which was awkward with our guests and visitors. A few shortcomings worth mentioning. There’s nowhere comfortable to relax - just a hard wooden bench in the living room. Not even a hammock outside. When we were tired we ended up sitting on our bed. There’s no freezer in the fridge so no ice - something we sorely missed in the hot weather. The air conditioner in the bedroom works well but it blows right on the bed which I didn’t like. While the property is as as shown - what’s missing is the road that runs along the length of the property and the very large empty hotel across the road. At first I was disappointed b/c I wanted to be completely immersed in nature - but I got used to it. I came for the nature so I would have really enjoyed some comfortable permanent chairs outside our space to enjoy it more but hauling out our 2 kitchen chairs with their thin legs on the uneven terrain wasn’t that great a plan when we tried it. Very scarcely furnished kitchen if you plan to cook - only 1 pot + 1 pan! So making food was challenging. Even though there’s no house manual that mentions it, you’re on your own to provide standard house disposables like dish soap, a brush to wash dishes with, matches to light the stove, bags for the garbage, toilet paper etc. - unless the previous tenant leaves some of these things. When we arrived, tired and hungry, we couldn’t even turn on the stove until we went to the store to buy some matches - not so straight forward as we didn’t have transportation. And there are very few restaurants in the vicinity - and no stores that I’m aware of. The sheets were too small for the bed and came off every night. I saw some other sheets in the house but they didn’t look right either. The main light in living room wasn’t working. Maybe I didn’t know how it worked. The house comes with bikes but they were in need of repair and weren’t ridable. After mentioning it a second time, our host graciously gave us the use of their golf cart for a day as compensation. The house has a lot of electrical outlets but for some reason, most of them are difficult to use. At least half I could’t use at all and the other half - I used with great difficulty. This...

The hosts are very freindly and accomodating. The Chalet is very clean, modern and cozy. The big windows are beautiful, makes you feel like you are outside, while looking out at the trees and yard. Closer to the other cabin that expected, and closer to the road than expected, but it was not an issue. I felt very, safe, left all the windows open at night. The location was perfect for us, much quieter on this side of the Island, close to snorkeling and a little private beach just across the street. We used the 2 bikes available to tour the island and rarely needed a taxi. A taxi to town was only 80-100 peso depending on the time of day. A great value for this beautiful place!
