YES, IT IS AVAILABLE
Hi future guest, if you put in your dates of travel and this place came up in your search, that means it is available, it's not necessary to confirm with me. Thanks for looking and read on, I hope to meet you soon.
A fantastic modern view property midway between the Castro and Cole Valley. Enjoy spectacular views from the living room/dining area/kitchen level. You will have your own master bedroom and private bathroom on a separate level from the rest of the flat, plus share full access to our gourmet kitchen, living and dining space. Included is wireless Internet and for long stays; maid service every two weeks.
Your room downstairs is a big and roomy, light-filled space with a queen-sized bed, two night stands, a table and two chairs to work or eat on, book shelves, a comfy reading chair and a closet with hangars, an iron and ironing board plus an extra twin sized foam mattress for children or that third guest. The all-marble bathroom, two steps off the bedroom, has a great shower with lots of nozzles. Towels and sheets are provided.
LOCATION AND TRANSPORTATION
Location and access to public transport are very important; there are two bus lines right on the corner, going downhill the 33 takes you to the vibrant Castro, the Mission district, Bart, and Portrero hill. Going the other way it takes you to the Haight (old hippy hangout), Golden Gate park and the Richmond district. The 37 bus downhill takes you to the Muni underground at Castro and Mission, the Castro, the Safeway on Church then back to the Haight. Look in my Guidebook for route maps.
Easy access from the airport; the Bart train plus one bus ride takes you right to the front door.
Parking is easy to find and free in our neighborhood. In most parts of the city, you must have a sticker to park more than a few hours. Here you don't need a sticker and you can park your car and leave it all week, the only restriction is it must be moved for street cleaning two hours per week. Signs are clearly posted telling you the times for street cleaning.
In addition to your host John, You'll be sharing the house with flatmate Matt and when I'm traveling I rent out my room so there will be up to two other Airbnb guests. Finally there is my adorable dog, Finch, who prefers guests to me, (I guess there's no mystery left in me) he may insist you throw a ball or pet him. I do accept pets on a case by case basis, ask me if you are traveling with pets. We are open, kind unbiased people, straight and gay friendly; I enjoy meeting new people and hearing their stories and look forward to having you stay.

It is all about location, location, location. Great spot to stay, public transport a hop, jump & skip away. A word of advice though is that if you like to get back early to relax and unwind then this place might not be for you as the noise from anyone walking around upstairs on the wooden floor is quite bad & if you like to get an early night then you will definitely have to wear ear plugs. John is is a very good host & very welcoming and always willing to help where he can.
John was a very good host, affable, helpful, full of good information.
He was quite easy to get along with and an interesting person in his own right.
Great host. John was very welcoming and helped to explain about the local area/where things were.
I didn't get to meet Matt, but Finch (the dog) was very adorable. He will bark at you before you even enter, but he is too cute to bite, etc. Just get down to his level, let him lick your hand when you first arrive and he will calm down.
The views from the living room were stunning. Damn I wish this was my apartment. The night view is really amazing! You can see all of SF and bay bridge in the distance.
The local area is really safe and of course gay friendly. I would advise avoiding entering Mission district if you are alone. I got a bit scared on my own and got a bus to westfield as soon as I could, but Castro is a very friendly place for alone travellers, both day and night.
Location wise from everything... fantastic! Even if you go further into SF, the Bart station takes you right to Castro street & then it is a 10 min walk to the apartment up a safe street (5 min down hill).
Facilities were fantastic. Loved the shower (2 back shower heads in addition to the one above your head).
I was fortunate with parking (there was a space outside), but I can imagine there may be times where there isn't and you may need to find one on a nearby street.
Be warned to those not from Cali, there are some strict rules about not blocking a guarage/drive way and putting your wheels in a certain position when parking on hills. John kindly advised me of these points to avoid a ticket, but worth noting in case he is not there.
WiFi was great.
John was an amazing host. Don't worry about parking as there are plenty - which is rare in SF. The view in the living room is spectacular and the location is centralized. We stayed for 3 nights and enjoyed every moment of it. Will definitely stay with John again the next time we are in SF.
John was a great host; relaxed, easy to chat to, interesting and very knowledgable about San Fran happenings. Although with his great selection of documentaries, amazing view and comfy dog on your lap; it was always tempting to stay in!
Matt also deserve a shout out for being equally welcoming and chilled. The room itself was very big and very comfy. I would love to stay here next time I'm in SF; it was a pleasure.
Our stay on Clayton was seamless. John was great about all the arrangements. Wonderful location. Great bedding!
Excellent from booking to departure. John is as his profile describes: laid back, open to new people, friendly. The room was as described as well, and I found it comfortable and spacious. I would like to point out John's extremely helpful tips and his support during my stay. An all-around great experience!
John was a great host, very friendly and helpful.
The accommodation was comfortable and as we expected with use of the kitchen too. Eating breakfast looking out at the view was wonderful as was seeing it at night.
The neighbourhood was perfect for the bus to visiting our son and family in Haight Ashbury.
John is a very kind person. We liked very much to stay at his house. It is very well situated - near Twin Peaks, Haight Ashbury, Castro and Mission district. From the living room you really have a fantastic view. On the whole a great experience!
Excellent stay! Great location .....Gorgeous views ! John is a wonderful host. When back in town, I'll stay again!
