Quinta Serramar is a very secluded private home (heated pool) situated near Ulgueira, Sintra (15 min drive to both Cascais and Sintra). The property is composed of 3 buildings, the Main House w/ pool (10 guests) & two Garden Bungalows (4 & 2 guests). For groups larger than 16 guests, an extra daily charge per guest will be applied.

Stunning villa within a short distance from the sea, located in the Natural Reserve of Sintra and surrounded by mountains and trails for trekking & biking. The most beautiful beaches of Portugal and Sintra’s World Heritage historical monuments are just a few minutes away. Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point in continental Europe, is within walking distance from the property.
The nearest beach is only 5 minutes by car from the property, with a wide choice of bars and restaurants. Along the coast, the choice of other beaches is endless, famous for the water sport activities and its white sandy family beaches, all within 20 min drive. The bus stop is just 50 m away from the villa and the railway station is 10 km away. It is 12 km from Sintra, granted worldwide patrimony of humanity by UNESCO with its cultural landscape dotted with palaces, castles and museums.
The property has one main gate entrance from the road. Just past the gate is a courtyard and a small 2-bedroom house which is used for laundry. Behind this is an area used as a vegetable patch with fruit trees. Beyond the courtyard is a second gate which leads to the main villa, garden bungalows, and spacious grounds.

The Main House is a 2 story villa with private heated pool (fenced), featuring 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, and a large living area with kitchen, TV room, dining room and access to the pool.
At ground level there are 2 bedrooms (1 queen and 1 double) sharing the pink bathroom.
Upstairs, we have the master bedroom with a king size bed, cable TV, private bath with shower, walk in closet and balcony, plus two other double rooms sharing the green bathroom with a view.
The 2 bedroom Garden Bungalow has 2 double bedrooms downstairs, plus a sofa bed in the living room, all sharing one bath room. There is also a mezzanine with a queen size bed. There is a garden patio seating area in front of each room. There is also a fully equipped kitchen with its own dining room, featuring a fire place.
The 1 bedroom Garden Bungalow has 1 double bedroom, plus a sofa bed in the living room, all sharing one bath room. There is a garden patio seating area in front of the room. There is also a small kitchenette with refrigerator, oven, microwave and dishwasher.
You can play volleyball, football, table tennis at the property, and the surrounding area is popular for hiking and mountain biking.
This property used to be a fruit tree farm, with a main house and various outbuildings. It has been completely renovated as an investment property by its new owner.
The main house at Quinta Serramar is a beautiful property with five bedrooms and three bathrooms, over two floors. On the ground floor, the large living / dining area has huge glass picture windows at either end, letting the light flood in, and providing amazing views of the lawn at the front and pool at the back. The furnishings are modern and comfortable, with clean lines and a simple color scheme of white, red and black. The dining area has a large glass dining table which easily seats ten. The recently refurbished kitchen is sleek and modern with high quality fittings (including a 'Schock' granite sink), and is open to the dining area with a breakfast bar-style division. It contains all mod cons, including dishwasher, gas hob, oven, microwave, fridge-freezer, etc. The washing machine and tumble dryer are in the separate games room kitchen.
Across the entrance hall on the ground floor are two spacious bedrooms: one with a queen size bed, and another with two singles which can be pushed together to make a double. Both have ample wardrobe storage and plenty of space for a cot. Next door is a spacious Moroccan-style bathroom with a large walk-in shower (large enough to fit a wheelchair, with supporting handle bar). These bedrooms and bathroom would be well suited to guests with motor disabilities.
On the first floor are three further bedrooms. The first is the large master double, which has a king size bed, TV and sofas to relax. It has a separate dressing room and en-suite bathroom with twin sinks and large walk-in shower. This room also has a private balcony with views to the front of the property, over the entrance and front lawn.
There are two further twin/double bedrooms on this floor (both with single beds pushed together), one of them has access to a very long balcony which runs the length of the villa, and has amazing views over the rear of the property and the surrounding forest. The spacious bathroom shared by these two bedrooms is again in the Moroccan style, and contains an oversize bath (1.7m x 1.1m) with shower over, and twin sinks. The main villa accommodates a maximum of 10 adults, 6 single beds, 1 queen, 1 king size in master bedroom upstairs.
To the rear of the main villa is the swimming pool, a small lawn, and terrace for outdoor dining. This whole area is enclosed with a wall on three sides, and on the fourth side (along the side of the swimming pool) is a wall of glass. This gives an incredible effect, and guests can't fail to be impressed! The living area has a patio door direct to the terrace and pool, and a huge picture window with views onto the pool.
The main house is surrounded by extensive grounds which include a very large flat lawn and unpaved games area to the front, large cobbled area to the side, and various other buildings and more lawn to the rear.
One of the other buildings contains a large fully-equipped kitchen and adjoining entertaining / games room. The washing machine and tumble dryer can be found here in the kitchen, alongside an industrial-sized fridge and freezer, and even an original bread wood oven. Next door, the large games room contains comfy sofas, dining table, and large fireplace. There's a table-tennis table and various board games to enjoy. The next room along is a large store room, which is not accessible to guests.
Next door to the store room is a small 'outside' bathroom with two toilets and a sink – this could be used by those in the games room, garden or even the pool, if they don't wish to go inside. Next along is an unused room with a large door to the rear. This door is usually kept bolted shut, it leads to an old orchard to the rear of the property.
Next to this are two garden bungalows which are only ever rented along with the main villa. The 2 bedroom bungalow has a small living area with a sofa bed, and an open tread staircase to a mezzanine overhead containing a queen size bed. Back on the ground floor there are two full bedrooms – one is a double with patio doors to the terrace outside, and the other is a twin bedroom. There's a full family bathroom with bath / shower over. Max of 8 adults, 6 single beds, 1 queen bed, 1 double sofa futon.
Next door is the 1 bedroom garden bungalow. It has a small living area (with double sofa bed), a double bedroom with twin beds pushed together and patio doors to the rear, and a full bathroom (including a bath with shower over). Max 4 adults. Both bungalows were built on a slope, so have various steps between rooms.
Adjoining the 1 bedroom bungalow, is a small kitchen which is shared by guests from the garden bungalows. It contains a cooker with hob and oven, dishwasher, microwave, fridge/freezer and sink.
To the rear of these bungalows is a further area of lawn, a brick barbecue with sink and preparation area, and a further covered entertaining space with built-in corner seating, and a large circular table which seats ten. In this area there's also an extra room which is not part of the rental agreement, which is used to accommodate very large groups that do not mind not having a bathroom nearby, usually used by younger enthusiasts.
You will be given 2 sets of keys with gate remote control so that your car may enter the property. There is plenty of parking inside the gate. Each remote costs Eur 120 to replace.
