Moment's Peace Farm is a hobby farm with a restored 19th Century barn and extensive fields and woods. We raise free-range eggs, vegetables, and rescue horses. At the Guest House, you are free to come and go as you please, to enjoy the outdoors, theater, museums, and fine dining.
The Guest House is detached from the main farm house and affords you complete privacy while still being in a farm setting. You have your own private deck and view as well as living room, kitchen, bedroom, and 1-1/2 baths.
The area is an excellent jumping-off place for an unlimited number of activities, from walking and hiking to cycling and canoeing to beach sunning and bathing to visiting all of the shops, museums, antique dealers, restaurants and farm stands in Portland, the Kennebunks, and surrounding areas like Freeport and the White Mountains. We're even an easy train ride from Boston as well as Brunswick.
Come and go as you please, or just stay home and relax in your own little getaway. There are relaxing activities in the Guest House, too, including puzzles, books, and games. Or just relax in one of the chaise lounges in the living room or on the back deck.
Guests have access to the grounds, which include a pleasant stroll down to our private pond where you can relax on the shore under the evergreen trees and listen to the sounds of nature all around you. There is a pool to enjoy (swim at your own risk); the tree house is private; you're welcome to enjoy vegetables from the garden in season - certainly enough to make a good salad if not dinner. Let us know if you'd like to greet the horses and we can give you a few tips about that.

Moment's Peace Farm is a working micro farm as well as a residence. We have a restored 19th Century barn and extensive fields and woods, and raise free-range eggs, vegetables, and rescue and board horses. No smoking is allowed anywhere on the property.
We are always happy to help with suggestions, directions, and tips for maximizing your stay in the area, though we are not full-time innkeepers. You'll find a pretty extensive Welcome Book on arrival, but do reach out if you have any additional questions or suggestions to share.
We respectfully request quiet time by 10 p.m. every night.
Events and parties are not allowed; however, we do welcome guests who are attending a nearby wedding who are respectful of our house rules.
Since Moment's Peace Farm is intended to provide a high quality of life to our animal tenants as well as people, we appreciate your care and respect of the animals at all times. Chickens, dogs, horses and abundant wildlife such as deer, hawks, eagles, fox, coyote, fireflies, frogs, peepers and various other critters are free to enjoy a moment's peace as they pass through -- as we hope you do, too.
The pool is available for swimming; swim at your own risk: there is no lifeguard on duty. No running on the pool deck; no diving in the shallow end. The pool is best for swimming -- not the pond. Enjoy the pond as a nice destination for a pleasant stroll, or to relax under the trees with a good book or cup of coffee.
There are extensive additional grounds are available for a stroll, as well, e.g. if you'd like to have a look at the vegetable gardens or walk along the lane. The tree house is private and not available to guests (thank you).
Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any questions at any time.
As a general rule, we won't ping you proactively, so that you can enjoy your privacy, but are certainly happy to help with any questions you may have at any time, or if you'd like to say Hello.
Enjoy your stay!
