Cannot say thank you enough to both Yoshie and Tetsuro for letting us stay at the beautiful farm. We had an incredible 3 nights getting to know two of the most genuine people, learning how to cook Japanese style (thanks Yoshie!) and seeing the local area. We wanted a place to relax and this was it. The guest house was really cosy with a nice view of the mountains on either side of the valley, and the main house was so welcoming, especially with the selection of great music playing every time we came in. Yoshie was really helpful in setting us up both with the arrival and departure, but also with day trips out from the farm (we planned nothing..!). In either direction on the train (~10/15 minutes) you were in new towns at the base of some great hiking trails, or some old towns with great cherry blossoms. A truly great place to meet an amazing couple, eat some brilliant home cooked food and relax in the fresh mountain valley air.

I spent 3 very relaxing days with Yoshie and Tetsuro. The cottage is clean and nicely decorated. The garden (a little organic farm with a mix of flowers, herbs and veggies) up kept by our hosts are lovely The pets each have their characters and are a joy to befriended with. The freshly prepared dinner and breakfast plan is highly recommended. Not only that the food is deliciously prepared, spiced up by the fresh herbs and jams from the garden, you can also enjoy quality time with the hosts. The town Sawando is very near the Central Alps which are great for hiking, offering spectacular view. Even if you are not a hiking fan, there are still a lot to do in the neigborhood: weekend market, hot spring, workshops for local arts and crafts... For me, the best part is to have the opportunity to get to know our hosts. They are kind, intelligent and well read. They inspired me in many ways. I've learnt from them that we do not need to own up a lot to have a good life. We can be happy and contented and it all comes from within. Yoshie also explained to me how she dyed yarns and fabric with all natural plant ingredients and introduced me to her weaving workshop. It is amazing to see her work which is a vivid demonstration of what nature can provide to us and yet our generation has nearly forgotten!

It was a very comfy and scenic place to stay. Ms. Yoshie was informative and we learned a lot about the sightseeing spots around Senjojiki from her.

I spent very relax time at Yoshie 's place. Her and her husband are very very nice. Their house is absolutely so cute. There I a beauty full forest with I've 20 minute walk. You can hear bird in the morning g when you wake up. Just a pure pleasure.

I grow vegetables and flowers organically.

I love to cook vegetarian dishes with the vegetables and herbs from my garden.
I like to grow plants and animals, listening to the nature.
I like weaving, too. Not very good at it, though.
In winter, I weave split old clothes in the yurt.

I am almost vegetarian myself, but non-vegetarian folks are happily welcome.

My partner runs an internet old book shop, and I also love books.

I used to travel a lot while young, but now, I'd rather hear stories from travelers.
