What a lovely, comfortable home and so full of charm ranging from the 19th century right up to the present day. Although located in a busy part of the city, it is on a quiet side street and was very peaceful, especially the garden where we sat to relax after a very busy day. Gloria is a perfect hostess, and offered so many things we didn't expect, from lemonade to home made soup and ice cream! The breakfast was self-serve but again included surprises like fresh-baked quiche. We only got home yesterday, but already I've recommended this place to family and friends, and we will certainly stay there again!

This interesting old mansion was fascinating, and worked well for us. We didn't see Gloria after our check-in, but that was fine with us, and everything was there for us when we needed it. You'll enjoy your stay!

It was well located and we felt safe. Parking was provided in back. The breakfast was adequate with eggs cooked to order.

Having read Gloria's write-up after we stayed there for 2 nights, it seems she was describing somewhere else. The house is fine if you like barking dogs and patrolling cats; stale bread, sour milk and boxes of cereal were offered for a "delicious breakfast experience." The general uncleanliness of the guest room and bathroom sink were terrible. After our first night I had to ask for our bedroom floor to be vacuumed as the carpets and mats were unclean. The growling dog in the hall when we returned to the house at night was extremely off-putting. We finally met Gloria briefly when returning on our second night (I'm still asking myself why we returned). Breakfast on our second morning was marginally better with fresh milk and some fruit on the table. The whole experience was extremely disappointing and I could not recommend this property at any price.

Gloria is a wonderful host and her home is beautiful. One can't help but appreciate the history of the home. The bedroom we stayed in had a very comfortable king size bed and the air conditioner worked well. While the bathroom is shared with others, we never had to wait and there was no shortage of hot water. The house is a short walk away from the regional rail line (train) which got us into Center City in about 20 minutes. We had a great visit to the Philadelphia area and would definitely stay in Gloria's home in the future.
