Self-contained, airy, ground floor apartment. Self catering. Part of our detached house on the southern edge of the South Downs National Park, one mile from Goodwood, 4 from Chichester. Private entrance, patio + furniture. Conservatory. Parking.

We are on the Chichester to London Roman road: Stane Street (A285), in the village of Halnaker on the southern edge of the South Downs National Park.
Halnaker is one mile from Goodwood, 4 miles from Chichester, 60 miles from London and 30 miles from Brighton and Southampton.

Vineyard View is a well furnished self-contained, light and airy, ground floor studio apartment for self-catering accommodation that is part of our detached house, Greenfields.
The ground floor apartment has a private entrance, a wooden conservatory opening on to a patio with garden furniture. And you can park right outside the door!

Towels and all linen are provided.
(Please bring your own beach towels.)

Local Ordinance Survey maps (1:25 000) are available to borrow for excursions.

The apartment has its own parking area right outside and private entrance with keysafe so you can come and go as you please but we are available should you need us.

There is a traditional village pub, The Anglesey Arms, within easy walking distance for your lunch and evening meal (I can book your evening meal for your arrival - please specify when booking) The owners pride themselves on carefully sourced food (local and organic when possible and freshly caught fish). You can drink their quality beer and excellent wine in the bar with a large open fire, in the dining room, or in their lovely pub garden.
From the apartment you can see the burgundy Pinot Noir grapevines of the Tinwood Estate Vineyard. Going east on footpaths you can walk to Halnaker Windmill with its spectacular views over the countryside to Chichester Cathedral and the Isle of Wight. You can walk south to Boxgrove village with its local shop and the ruins of the 12th century Benedictine Priory (English Heritage) and Priory Church. Walking north on to the South Downs National Park you can see the ancient, sweet chestnut trees (with girths of more than 26’!), the historic flint wall of Goodwood Estate Home Farm and go on to extensive woodlands and up to Halnaker Gallop.

By public transport:
Bus stop: (5 mins walk)
to Chichester Station bus takes 25mins.
Chichester Railway Station:
to London Victoria train takes 1.30mins/2hrs
to Brighton train takes just under an hour.
to Southampton train takes about an hour.
to Portsmouth Harbour train takes between half an hour and three quarters of an hour.

By car:
Vineyard View is 5 mins from A27
1 hour to M25
to Brighton via A27 approx 45 mins
to Portsmouth via A27 approx half an hour
to London 1 hour 45 mins (depending on traffic)

The accommodation includes a kitchen area with fridge/freezer, combination microwave, two ringed induction hob, 2 saucepans with glass lids & frying pan, dishwasher, toaster, kettle, cafetiere, crockery, cutlery & glassware, hair-dryer, clock/radio, 32” Freeview TV & DVD, an en-suite shower, one super king double with 1500 pocket sprung mattresses with luxury Egyptian cotton linen (or two 3’ single beds - please specify when booking) and a comfortable double sofa-bed in the conservatory (with doors which can be closed to create a separate room). Electric & central heating.
